I've been seeing a lot of these lately, people chain lettering on IMVU. Just so you know, it's all a load of hooey. NONE of these chain letters are true. Some of us in the furry forum chat have reported these chain letters concerning razi, exe, lollirot and a load of other pro and nonpro devs. Be on the lookout for messages like this one, reported by Ottah:
"Razi just gave me 10,000 credits! Go and buy her products and she'll give you some money aswell! Send buy 5 products and get 5,000, 10 products and get 10,000 and 20 products get 20,000! Send this to 5 people or she'll have your accoutn deleted."
IF you see any of this, report and delete it, as well as get to the person you just reported, inform them it's a load of flaming bag of dog doo and tell them not to believe stuff like that. *THAT* chain letter can seriously harm the reputation of a developer. Chainmail is for losers. Don't be one.
Did anyone else get any of this kind of chainmail?
-
>:| Not only is this bogus, but it's a form of hate.
Razi has received an increase of offensive messages on her page lately.
Maybe this is partly to blame for those messages.
All chain letters on IMVU are a violation of the T.O.S.
If you get one either remind the sender of the rules and danger of account disabling they are placing themselves into or flag it.
No chain letter is true.
All they are is a form of social engineering that attempts to clog the servers.
In this case it's meant to defame ((( http://www.answers.com/defame&r=67 ))) the developers.
-
((Alright... I don't know what happened the last time I posted... but let's try this again.))
I knew that something was missing from the list of Social Engineering, and thank you Nik for bringing it up, thank you ephemral for pointing it out.
http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=2475.0 is the whole list that I have compiled so far in this area.

:peek:
Maybe us Devs should put a disclaimer on our product pages?
-
That would be a safe course of action to take. :)
-
I get the usual "send this message t 25 ppl for 185k" messages
-
i do too..never got around to doing it though...
-
I'm not complaining or anything...but i haven't gotten a chain letter in ages...
(Heh...after saying that i'll get like 2 or 3 now)
-
i would think that someone put a big banner on my page that says "INSERT CHAIN MAIL SPAM HERE AND GET A FREE PUPPY!" or something, i've gotten quite a bit (deleted on site, usually reported.)
-
hehe, Lcky me.
I'v NEVER EVER had any spam or chain mail (apart from seeing someone put it it on someone elses page)
But it IS WRONG and POINTLESS.
XD now Im gonna get 2-3 like Master Hedgers said he would!

Best course of action in general, report the chainmail to IMVU and delete the message. Don't pass it on.
