Title: Yooka-Laylee (Banjo-Kazooie successor)
Post by: BennyJackdaw on May 06, 2015, 10:25:14 PM
Anyone else heard about this upcoming WiiU game. Personally, I want to be fired up more than anything, but... lately I've found it impossible to get my hopes up for a game staring anthropomorphic animals because, unfortunately, they usually suck no matter what. Yooka-Laylee could be an exception, but I cannot shake my fears, especially with all the hype surrounding it. ...I really do hope it turns out to be good though, because I really like Laylee. Cute big-nosed bat.  :*

I can't tell you how excited I am for this game.

The hype isn't for the game so much as the hype is for the ex-Rare team that have gotten back together to do what has been needed for a long time. What's adding onto the hype from there is that they're making the kind of game that made them the killer team that they are.

Side note: It's releasing on PC, MAC, Linux, XboxOne, PS4 and WiiU
Other Side Note: I bought a Kazoo in celebration and I'm working on getting a Ukulele because I've always wanted one.

As someone who grew up playing Banjo Kazooie and Tooie I am really excited for this game and I am sure that even if it is bad ((Which I doubt it will be)) it will bring back some good memories of my childhood

I highly doubt that it's gonna be a bad game, especially considering that Playtonic Games (the company working on it) is made up of former Rare employees, some of which worked on Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, so it's got a very good chance of coming out a quality game.

The more I hear people say that, the more I worry. I want nothing more than for an anthro game to be good, but it never happens no matter how trusted the game makers are.

Wii U, Physical Release. Probably would end up being one of the best on the system.

You forgot about Banjo Kazooi
Also Donkey Kong Country and Animal Crossing, Star Fox and Beyond Good and Evil.

Lots of games, and I can't wait for this one.

I've been reliving my childhood by playing Banjo Kazooi again.
I have the advantage this time though because now I can read.

I thought the movie was about Sly Cooper. There's going to be a Ratchet and Clank one too? Also, that was only two franchises.

Elder Scrolls 3-5, because Khajit.

Argonians hate you now. Plus, they were lizards since at least Daggerfall. I don't know about Arena, but the Khajit in Daggerfall were kind of just cat-like humans, where over the franchise they seem to have gotten more and more catlike and less human, which I like a lot. The Skyrim Khajit are kind of cool.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was nice. Starfox is my All Time favorite Anthro franchise. Even if most, excluding Adventures, Assault, & Dino Island, are Rail Shooters... wait that's half of Starfox being Anthro, MOST being Rail Shooters.

Banjo Kazooie was great since it had one plot, collect puzzles to finally fight Gruntilda.
Super Mario follows that recipe.. YOSHIIIII

I've personally already funded it once, but might again to get it on both Xbox and PC.

I just remembered Gex, and I don't think Altered Beast would count.

SMB is awesome! Fun to play with anyone but yourself. Except arcade mode. BEAUTIFUL, yet painful.

I bought Deluxe today. Also got Oddworld, which I honestly think I like a bit better (it might just be because I suck at monkey ball  :( )

Huh, what I've seen of the "Sly" Movie, the art style's going to be way different than it is in the game, but the style in the Ratchet movie looks like it will follow the games. Maybe the Sly movie turned out to be fake I just don't know it yet.

Anyway, this isn't a general anthro-game topic, it's about the upcoming Yooka-Laylee. ...I'm still kind of nervous, but I do still like Laylee. Bats need more love.

Is there a reason to worry?
Playtonic games are already openly working with the community to create the ultimate game and homage to 3D platformers.

Yooka and Laylee are also possibly the most lovable duo ever

DAAAW! Laylee kind of reminds me of Stitch right now for some reason.

And he's even playing Banjo-Kazooie! Daww

He also has what appears to be Ocarina of Time and Donkey Kong 64 on the ground.
