My fursona is Akira and she's a grey cat of some sort. More house cat sized. (still working on her atm o.O )Anyway, I can't decide if she should have wings or not. I think they'd be cool but, idk. I'm 50/50 on the idea.

I think the answer to this question should always be yes B)

Yes and Yes

I understand your dilemna, I hope I can help you with this x3
Ok, so here's the thing:
Wings are pretty cool, obviously xD
And they represent something neat to: The ability to fly, to escape, to look things from above, etc.
And you can design them in any shape or form too!
Though I often feel many people, to put it bluntly, "just put/draw on some wings" because it's fun, or they can't think of anything else. Not much designing would be put into it.
And that's why I would advise against it, but if you would make original-looking wings, or have some backstory as to why your character has wings to begin with, then it;s another story.
You could always have your character have some sort of steampunk or futuristic wings, which they can 'clip' on any time they wanted to. Be it because they designed it themselves and like to fly, maybe even because she wanted to catch birds? XD
Or maybe your character would be a special soldier in a flying unit, or something like so?
Just all kinds of ideas. But to just add wings because it might be cool, I think is a bad idea, and it's too often done. I'd like to always see backstory and see that some thought has been put into a character.
But that's just my opinion ^^
Hope my answer provided some help.

Thanks everyone ^.^ I don't think I will but I do like the idea of it. It just seemed a little common. Also I'm lazy and probably couldn't draw them right anyway. XD

Well, if you're interested in drawing wings, I can perhaps (if you like to and want to) stream a bit while drawing and show you how I generally draw wings? :)
-
Thank you very much for the offer ^_^ but it's mostly because I'm lazy that I don't draw them often lol
-
I see, allright then x3

Wings if it makes sense, and it's unique to you in some way. Symbolism, preference, or something of the sort.
-
Let's not rule out a jetpack ^_^

I'd say no. To put it bluntly, putting wings on a non-winged creature just looks cheesy and cliché, pretty much makes you look like you're trying to be unique more than actual making a design you suit, or even makes sense.
Sorry if that's a little rough. XD

Yah, that's why I decided not to. If I did I was thinking about a griffon mix, or something. I didn't quite like having a beak for a mouth so just threw out the idea of wings altogether. :S

Gryphons have loads of other various aspects than just having wings and a beak though, maybe you could look into other features of gryphons you'd rather like to have then just the beak?

How about a reverse gryphon? Feline from the waist up, raptor from the waist down. It would eleminate the beak issue, and be quite unique as well.

Who needs wings, if you can have grappling hook and glider?

Exactly! ^^
