My legs have been aching for quite a while. I assume it's from walking too much, so I skipped two days of walking, but no matter how much I rest my legs, they still ache, day after day. Anyone know any good tips for soothing aching muscles? ...Or if this could be something else?

It could be a nerve issue or your legs really are sore. But you don't get sore legs from walking though, your feet and glutes (butt)
usually get sore. Have you been active in anything lately, like swimming, free play sports, exercising, or just using more muscle??

If it persists beyond a week then I would go see a doctor.
It could be possible you've simply over exerted yourself.
How would you describe the ache?
Is it deep?
Is it a sharp pain?
Whole leg?
Is it in the bone or muscle?

My dad thinks I'm an idiot because I can't answer these questions. First off, the bones and the muscle are in the same general area, so it's hard to tell exactly where I'm feeling it. Second, it hurts the worst in my calves. As for pain, I would not say it's a sharp pain. More like a lingering pain. ...Not sure how to describe it.

Sounds like a nasty cramp?
Does it feel like the muscles are compressing themselves?
Does it only hurt when you flex certain muscles or put your leg in a certain position?
When did the pain first hit you and what ere you doing?

I walk a lot, but my mom suggested earlier to do stretches before a walk, something I don't do. It actually hurts the worst when I have my legs straight. Like when I'm reclining or standing, they hurt worse than when they're hanging over a chair or walking.
It started a few days ago. I would not say my legs are compressing themselves.

I'd assume most people here don't have proper medical training, so getting a diagnosis from these boards mightn't be the best idea.
See a doctor

I agree with Anoni
I think I had something similar to you but in my shoulder.
all I did was pick something up above my head and then I had the weirdest pain in my shoulder.
It didn't go away until about a month later...

You guys don't think it could be anything serious, do you? If not, I don't want to spend money we're trying to save just to have a doctor tell me I need to relax until they heal.
-
A doctor can at least prescribe you pain medication.
-
Can't I just take Alive?
-
Try that for a bit, though aleve is over the counter stuff so it won't work with the seriously major stuff.
-
At this point, I am considering a doctor. It's gone on for long enough now.

Ugh, it's now almost a full month, and my legs have NOT gotten better. ...They haven't really gotten worse, but they sure as heck haven't gotten better. ...I don't even know what to do anymore.

Go see a doctor

Go see a doctor
I did. She told me to call if they got worse, and they haven't so much gotten worse, they just haven't gotten better. I'm sure it will go away eventually.
