Title: Movies that terrified you
Post by: Teiko on April 09, 2015, 07:18:33 AM
What is a movie that scared the living daylights out of you when you were younger? (Or still :?)

Mine would have to be Speilberg's War Of The Worlds, when I was 11. For an entire year, I had PTSD from it, blocking all my windows and staying up all night sitting in the corner of my room, sleeping exclusively during the daytime. I also had panic attacks whenever I heard construction noises and would cry, and had constant nightmares.

It's weird because now it's one of my favorites  :D

Dog soldiers made me appreciate moonlit forests quite a bit less for quite some time... >->' Was many years ago I saw that one tho xP

Then there's the pale man from Pan's layrinth. >->' Brrrrrrrrrrrr...

Sweeney Todd also gave me some issues before, but these days it's one of my favorite movies and I've watched it way too many times xP

Those are the only movies I can think of right now at least. There's probably more xP

When I was very young I had way more access to videos than was good for me.  Three which made me run down the hall way with the light on to the toilet in fear I revised only find them funny and shlocky in the extreme.

Creepshow
Rabid
Salems Lot

The original Nightmare On Elm Street was pretty scary at 11 when I first saw it.  But then I became a huge fan.
Candyman freaked me out, but only the first time XD

As a grown up, The Black Swan creeped me out big time.

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

I lost sleep for a night wondering "How does this exist?"

Coroline. Nuff said.

I didnt sleep for minths and had horrible anxious feelings every night ling after the fear of the movie it'self faded. It wouldnt probobly have been nearly as bad if my pet mice hadnt escaped somewhere in my jouse shortly after I whatched it.

When I was young, I watched Tremors and Alien in one day. I was in, like, preschool when I did this. I thought I actually saw the 'phantom forms' of a Xenomorph and one of the worms trying to creep up on me, so I ran off to sleep with my parents... but I still thought I saw them. Let's just say my parents were very tired for work the next day.

Other than that, no movies have actually scared me like that since. Then again, I barely watch horror at all.

Stephen King's "It"

I haven't watched it in years and I still shudder thinking about it.

Coraline.
I was 11 back then and I actually burned my sister's doll on the gas stove.
And also, The Ring left me a slight televisiophobia after terrifying me for weeks.

Signs scared the hell out of me when I was younger.

War of the worlds (the new one) also did at one stage

None of them scare me now of course xD
