This is a general call for interest in a story about Redshirts, the vallient crew of the McGuffin as they are sent on dangerous and sometimes comical missions. Most of the time to their own peril.
Now before you say, "wow this is a good idea! Where do I sign up!" Or, conversly, "Meh, I don't have time for such sillyness" there are a few rules you should read.
1. As the name implies, these are redshirt characters, the nameless troopers in star treck who's only purpose is to alert the heroes to the dangers around them by DYING FROM IT.
All characters will by deffition be expendable and could suffer death or injury at any time. So it would be wise to bring alts you WILL NOT MIND GETTING KILLED OFF AT RANDOM.
If your character should die do not worry, its the FUTURE so a new alt can be beamed into the game.
Gm or the person ellected to roll the dice will roll a 10 sided dice.
10 -9 Crittical success
8-6 normal success
5-3 normal failure (possibly some injury depending on the situation.)
1-2 critical failure instant KO
Example:
Bob readies his phasar and fires at the space monster!
(Gm) rolls 1.
(Gm post) Alas bob the phasar unsurprisingly does nothing but slightly agrivate the monster and makes it aware of his presence. It lumbers over slowly and swipes at him with his claws.
(Bob would then spoof his alts demise how ever he would imagine bob dying off :3 then next turn, or when appropriate, he would spoof in his new alt. )
This is just one example of a dice rolling moddle we can use. But i am open to suggestions or party vote :3
2. Full paragraph rp. This means a post of about 2-3 sentences and please avoid 'action posts' as i think the term is called. :3 An example of action posting would be *Bob does thing!*
3. The appearence of your alts is only limited by your immagination, baring godzilla sized alts. Aliens, animal people or even humans are welcome.

4. Please do not bring powers, god-moding, tweaking (knowing ooc info icly) magic, etc etc to the game.
Psy powers MIGHT be possible, i will leave it up to the table to decide as to what capacity.
So, does this sound reasonable? Does this sound interesting? Suggestions are welcome and encouraged :D

Sounds good. Since there is a 20% chance of any alts (including my own of course XD) dying horribly or being maimed with each dice roll, Descriptions can be general or given icly as you enter the game.
Im going to wait until we have 3 or 4 players. I am most likely going to just focus on npcs, scenery and such, basically playing the role of a dungeon master as i lead your alts through a deadly maze of doom!
Mwhahaha.
If we lack players i will bring a few as well. Feel free to bring more than one alt at a time.
And i will post the dice rolls as well ^^

also I'd reccomend getting this into the proper board (serious or fun, this seems like it'd go on serious)

Sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of waiting for one or two more players but i like to strike while the metal is hot. You ok with waiting a while or should we just start and let people join in as we go?

I can send some npcs to run with your alt ^^ and you are free to bring as many alts as you can reasonablly manage.

Also, shepard. I have the feeling that at the first part is going to very likely just be you and me. Did you want a bit of a mystery before jumping into the action or just jump strait into the action?
Either way I will try to give your alt a fighting chance and try very hard not to kill him off in the first ten posts of the game XD

Sounds good ^^ its always nice to find players willing to let harm come to their alts from one degree or another :D
Also, if you want we can take turns on who gms each story between players (assuming more hop in <.< ) So if you had a particular story you wanted to run that works too ^^
Also, lol to your post. I have often wondered how anthro like creatures like being compared to non anthro animals :3

*laughs* actually this is just a parody of star treck. If you have an idea, be it star treck star wars firefly or something completely origional by all means i say go for it :D

Also decided to add some build up to the actiony part simply...cause.
And it gives people a chance to join in before the shooting starts. followed by the running the screaming the pleading with monsters to not eat your face and etc etc.

Name(s): Enigir Shosa, AJ Shosa, Selt Nitero, Shane Adarts, Aaron Blade
Genders: Male (all)
Jobs: Marines
Descriptions: Enigir is a white wolf with sword skills. AJ an be changed into a scientist/chemical expert or flamethrower type guy. Selt might have a combat claw if his Holy Nephilim Claw can't be used. Shane is definitely a pyro and Aaron would just be a standard marine.
I'm expecting to die a lot XD I'll start as Enigir with a ninja extendo-sword thing...
P.S. I know little about Star Trek but I've seen a few eps of Voyager. Thank god it's a parody right?

Feel free to pose in. If you need a reason to follow them around feel free to say that the Quartermaster sent you. Or feel free to use another reason as well if you want ^^
And yes, thank goodness this is only a parody. I'll spoof the captain eventually but...i've already got enough npcs milling about needing descriptions and personalities xp.
We will be coming into some action soon. But if anyone feels we are pacing ourselfs too quickly or slowly let me know. ^^
