Title: Furry Confessions
Post by: Kamina on December 12, 2014, 02:46:21 AM
We all know we have some stuff we don't want to share. And I'm not pushing you to. But what is one confession about Furrys?

Here is mine: I started as thinking the furry fan base was a stupid place when i was younger. But now that i'm older (By not that much) i grew to love the fan base.

Let the games begin...

Umm, Well i'll confess that I have a very small obsession with Le Femboy arts. <3 Can't help myself.
They're just so pretty and it's amazing how good they look too. . . . :$ Ahem....

I never tell anyone about it. I've never said "I'm a furry" and I will never affiliate with anything having to do with the fanbase outside of groups and forums such as this one.

Crazy right? I'm like the Batman of TFF, except I'm not a ninja and I'm stupid.

I don't like collars at all. I think they're just stupid. To me, you put them on pets, and that is a symbol of dominance over them. I just don't like the idea.

My confession is, at this point I'm more a furry cause I know good friends in the fandom. I used to be more like "I'm gonna wear a collar and get a fursuit and act like an animal and so forth", but now I've gotten over all that really and just sticking around for the awesome friends I've met along the way.

My confession is im afraid to share my fandom's in real life... I'm afraid people will judge me, but however the word got out and.... Some people are just teasing me about the accident at the one furry convention.... And they say how people went to the hospital and they deserve it.. Kinda messed up..

^ Im the same way. I just can't tell anyone. Usually.. surprisingly, not one person who I ask "You know what a furry is?" has ever said Yes.
Im almost happy and relieved everytime I hear No.
Only my close friends know but I still don't run around stating my furriness. Im afraid of what people will think.

Yea, I'm keeping it on the DL. Can't imagine even imagine the judgement. Especially if word got out to my lax bros. But, then again, being a big dude and on the lacrosse team, people generally don't mess with me.

I'm really small. Like 5'2'' small. And 80 pounds. Probably why I made my fursona so tall. So I try to keep my embarrasment To a minimum. I love in a small country town so they're not exactly tolerant.

I've always been an introvert. Even how I'm almost terrified to post in TFF for fear of judgment. Irrational fear. And something that really only effects me on this forum.

I'm only really enthused by anthropomorphic animals from popular media and not really interested in fursonas or fan art/fiction; although I've seen some really nice fan work it's just not for me.

I think fursuits are awesome but furry related apparel (tshirts, hoodies, etc) are enough for me.

Catz always made me go Eugh. It was just wierd for me. And the tights, I could never wear a tights based fursuit.
but not a foam suit either.

I don't hate 'em. I do, however, love messing with them and killing them in GTA. Once a whole Brony clan was hounding me, but I took 'em all out. Not that they didn't kill me a couple of times.

Im not a... Brony, dunno why its called that, but if I had a reason. I would probably watch MLP.... :/ but no reason to besides to learn characters and their genders.... <_< sorry if that sounds REALLY wierd. The closest thing I have to MLP is Rainbow Dash Presents, and I love watching him lol. or her, the guy makes the cartoon but the character is female but the voice is a guy so, Him.
He's a bit humorous honestly. It's mainly a parody so I get free range on MLP watching. Lol

Here's a confession-type-thing

I'm really afraid of wearing my fursuit to an event again because of the bad experience I had last time. A few people were rude to be because my suit is homemade [aka doesn't look professional] and that I didn't "act like I was supposed to," which from what I gather means I wasn't going out of my way to act like a cat? Or the fact I was talking because, last I checked, my friends don't speak feline. One person even gave me an unsolicited critique of my suit and pulled on my nose until some of the fabric around it came unglued.

I also had to take off my head a couple of times to drink water and avoid overheating [which I am prone to], but some guy came up to me during a water break and started giving me shit about "ruining the magic." There were no kids around and personally I think my physical health is more important than "magic."

Not to mention due to my disability I'm just not very good with body language or really conveying emotions well at all, but many people seem to think that you can't wear a fursuit unless you're an actor or something, so it's just frustrating when all I want to do is wear a cat costume and have fun but everyone's so quick to scrutinize and critique me.

Who cares what they think! At least you have the courage to wear one. I don't have one and i'll be to scared to wear it. It's ironic because i am a mascot and i practically wear it as a fursuit.  :'(

Yo, haters gonna hate. I personally am not one for wearing fursuits. Ears, collar, and tail's about as far as I'll go. But, it's yo dang fursuit, man, you do what you feel like.

As for my confession... though I hate most trends, I can't help but be part of em. I'm such a hypocrite, but I ain't even care.

Also, I really hate all these dumb words that are being made up like twerk, bae, cray......all them and it seems like after a few months or so another one pops up.  Make it stop!!!

Here's my confession:
I love furries don't get me wrong but I'll never express that love IRL and will never confess because I fear the critism that would follow and I know how sensitive I'd get which would lead to depression and then suicide. Also if I did confess what would it mean to say "I'm a furry." to my parents? I don't have animal tendencies or anything of the sort. Last, what is a brony and what is an MLP?

You probably know this but MLP means My Little Pony. It's a Cutesy Pony Cartton Show that even grown people watch, surprisingly.
The first few seasons were targeted towards kids but after adults began wtching it, they upped the vocab strength and changed the art style through the years.

Have I said this before?. I think I have.. but I adore Femboys and Pretty Pretty Boys. Especially the girly ones.

Yay femboys! They're very attractive beings. Anyways, my confession.
I used to have a hard time labeling myself as a furry, mostly because when I first discovered it, I only saw the 'naughty' side of it and treated it like it was a weird fetish I had. As time passed and I read and saw more of the furry community, I realized that I was wrong about everything, and that being a furry meant embracing another side of you that is in touch with the love of animals that dwells inside of you. I don't just walk up to my friends and say 'So yeah, I'm coming out as a furry to you' but if somehow it's ever brought up, I'm not afraid to admit I'm one. I already met one person who was open about it with no fear, treating it so casually like it was just another of many interests he had, which helped me gain the strength to openly embrace myself as a fur.

Ive always been bold, so I never cared about people knowing that I'm furry. I already had to tell them all that I am gay, I already told them all that I am an atheist, so when they ask if I am a furry its second nature to just say "yep".

It's very hard for me to tell if I'm really part of this whole furry thing or not. I enjoy the community, I am fascinated by the creativity and imagination of some members. But there's some things I can't stand in the fandom, making me think I'm not really part of the fandom. I'm scared people would see me as a hater for not standing.. fursuits or other things.

I'm not a fan of fursuits, I find them nice when there's one or two at a meet up, but a whole pack of them at a convention just is too weird for me from my point of view. I am very critical about their design, and most of them I don't like. I find mythological creatures and sergals the best, those suits are amazing. I respect the main idea of fursuiting. I know how it's like to cosplay, it's absolutely awesome. Plus, having kids around when doing so.. OMG MY CUTE-O-METER IS GONNA EXPLODE HAAAAAAA. It's a shame people don't understand it.

Second, I ate my food like a dog two days ago.

Third, you don't necessarily have to like every single aspect of the furry fandom to consider yourself part of it.

I love seeing drama unfold, it's quite fun.
I have a tendency of disliking those in the fandom that don't fit my definition of furry (such as MLP fans that don't appreciate general furry creativity and anime/manga fans that only show up to get a fursuit (because such a "cosplay" would be SO KAWAII!)).
I seem to be ambivalent about a specific subgroup of furries that I technically belong to, even though I've never really been active in it.

I've never bought a single fursuit item myself, but I own a professionally made fursuit. x3
I have a second identity in the fandom that only a few know is actually me. (Bwahahahaha!)
Despite plenty of opportunity, I've never attended a furcon, even though I've been active in the fandom for more than 7 years.

Hey Azeliah, can I ask you what the answer to the math problem in your sig is? I'm trying to figure it out but I can't lol. From what I can tell, the only way for it to equal 0 is for E to the power of I times pi to somehow end up as -1

It's Euler's Identity (Google is your friend). The number i is the imaginary number that is included in the complex numbers. General rule: i^2 = -1. As it seems, the nature of i is peculiar and somehow can make the equation e^x = -1 make sense. I study math at the University of Copenhagen, so I could explain this thoroughly, but I really don't think I should do so in this thread. x3

Thought I already posted this, but apparently not.

Someone earlier mentioned that they were objectively critical of fursuits, I think... I do that not only with suits, but also art and stories. When I critique, I'm also extremely blunt, so there is no way my position or what I'm saying can be misconstrued. Because of that, I rarely comment on art and stories, since I hate commenting for its own sake without any actual meat to the comment, and I know that a great deal of people interpret blunt criticism negatively. And that makes me feel like a jerk sometimes.

I know how you fell... :'(

I actually got in a bit of trouble in a creative writing class because in a critique of another student's work I said one of her characters sounded like she was ripped from the book of stereotypes, because there was nothing original about the character. Even as a main character she was pretty much the token conservative "XYZ is a sin!" Christian of the story. There was nothing more to her than that, and I got flak for saying it so bluntly. Frankly, I don't like padding critical words, because it makes me feel insincere, and as a writer or artist, you shouldn't look for blind praise. I have trouble finding people to critique for me because I hate decoding criticism to figure out what people are trying to say, and that overall is part of the reason I'm afraid to post my own stories.

I do have a tendency to fan gush about things if you let me. A few things happen to be, but are not limited to, almost anything related to Spyro the Dragon, Pokémon, Starfox, Dragonball/DBZ, Grand Theft Auto or Star Wars. I don't go batshit or deny faults like many fanboys/fangirls, but I sure can show how much I like it just by the way I talk.

my mom and i are different ends of a spektrum, while i pull a's out of my @$$ for tests, she failed most of grade school. therefore we have different attitudes about homework. i really dont want to out any time in to it, i can ace the tests, which are 85% of my grade, and the homework is 2%.

so my mom and i disagree, which leads me to lie about homework, a whole damn lot.

Fan gushing is the only way I can make friends... Or topic-gushing. Either way, I tend to babble endlessly about whatever I'm interested in and either go on to much and alienate the person or they gush back and poof, we're friends.

Either from online and/or real life pet stores.
The people who works at the store won't think it's weird when someone buys a collar (unless they stand and try it on in the store or something similar, ofc) and usually they don't ask any questions either. ^^

Eventually either you will have to tell them or they will find out. Best for them to have a suspicion and you coming clean to them other than they finding out and it landing on your head like a pile of bricks. I'm pan, if people ask me, I just come out clean, now don't make the mistake and try to harass me about swinging left or right because I'll leave a nice mark on you :P

Anyways, I don't have any confession. I love the art (clean art, though there some exceptions when it comes to porn) and absolutely love the people in this community though there are some that... *scratches his head*... yeah.

I sometimes refer to my hair as my mane because it is really long and going back to the acting like an animal discussion, I sometimes act like a Dragon in the way of whenever I am annoyed or angry I give of a deep, low growl and when ever I shout I growl loudly in a roaring sort of way. I do this unintentionally and I have scared people half to death doing this.

I have no respect for white knights. Especially on CoD, and GTA, oh lord, it's terrible on GTA, sometimes you get guys in tanks defending a female online. I've got a hell of a long story about that, but I may post it somewhere else. White Knight logic: "If I defend this fair internet maiden, she'll be my girlfriend."

I don't feel the need to identify with a fursona anymore. I think I started doing it because it was just something I saw so many others in the fandom do, like it was required or something. Somewhere along the line I stopped caring, and now I associate with other furs based on the furry interests I've acquired. I still have characters I use for RP or whatever, but eh. It's gotten me into some "trouble" with certain furs that think of me as mundane for not having a 'sona, but the arguments we got into were so silly looking back on it that I'm kind of glad it all happened.

Maybe you could start by casually showing her some furry artwork, just act like it's no big deal. Then if she likes the art, you can tell her that you made up a character of your own.

I felt offended the other day. Someone on a Facebook group I follow posted a ponysona and called it an Angel Dragon. Angel Dragons are not ponies!

I don't like ponies. Don't get their appeal at all. I gave them a try, twice. Couldn't get into it.

While on the subject of ponies and their fanbase...

I fully admit to having made the opening post to a flame war between furries and bronies lurking in the fandom. I was amused for the duration of the thread. I refuse to acknowledge the existence of the brony => furry implication, because I don't agree with it, at all. I would be lenient to agree with the brony => popular culture fan implication.

I used to have a pony attraction period.... I'm out of it already but it was quite a period.

And I fear I am flirty. :$ I never liked the idea too much... acknowledging it was always a concern though.

I am a little bit of an unintentional flirt online. In real life I'm a shy little guy who gets uncomfortable from the thought you might be interested in me. Just the other day I had someone flirt with me and ask me if I wanted to get some ice cream. All I did was just stand there while my best friend had to tell her that I already had a mate. I was essentially speechless  XD

If someone is flirting with me in public I would probably have no idea that they were.  Unless is was super obvious.  It's shocking I have a gf somehow

I've never bought a single fursuit item myself, but I own a professionally made fursuit. x3

This statement is now false. Today I bought a fursuit and brought it home. <3

I'm really afraid of relationships... It's mostly because I'm afraid of what the person I would be dating would think if they found out I was a furry. Granted, I'm not TOO deeply immersed into the fandom, but I don't want to leave.

The happier I am, the more of a dick I become, I then crash down from being happy when I do something stupid. :(

^I am the exact opposite of that  :D I make sure that everyone has the same experience as me  XD

My confession:

My Brita water pitcher says to replace the filter every 2 months, but I only do it every 6 months.

I still buy bottled water. I know I could buy a filter. I just haven't yet.

I'm terribly afraid of the living world and would much rather want to be lost forever in my books. Despite of this, I work in a hotel reception and have to be with hundreds of people every day.

I technically stole a dog. Technically. It was being abused, and the spca or animal shelter would've put it down because of it's breed. So, kinda against the law but the right thing to do.

I've always been quite scared of what people think of me... I always try to seem normal, but... I'm not quite natural doing this...

The fandom, in my earlier years of being a part of it, lead to a nasty habit I had of getting too attached to anyone who was overly nice to me, leading to several.. Unsavoury relationships. It's taken quite some time to regain control and realise that about myself.

I have an overwhelming desire to get a pawprint tattooed onto my body.

I've been thinking of doing this for a while. I would probably get it on my torso somewhere.

I tend to apologize to people for being awkward when meeting people in real life. I always feel like I'm not liked because I don't know how to talk to people so I apologize a lot. T-T

I can't make friends  :'(

Well one confession is I tend to be a bit outspoking. I don't seem to have sensor with my thoughts. I told a friend once right in public he had really bad breath. I nearly got punched.

Sometimes, my competitive nature gets the best of me when I play something that's not really a competition, which may be uncomfortable for some.

I've had a long history with unfortunate relationships, some were good, though. I easily get emotionally caught by someone, I must admit. For now I'm keeping busy with my studies - I'm not jumping at the chance to try anything with someone new right now.

I have an overwhelming desire to get a pawprint tattooed onto my body.

I have a tattoo of a pawprint measuring too damn big covering the right side of my chest. I'm in the process of getting it removed, though, as it was made in a very unprofessional manner.
