Essex V is a planet on the outer fringes of the galaxy, only colonized a few months ago. It's terrestrial composition is similar to that of earth's, except with a slightly higher gravity, and a slightly thinner atmosphere.
You are one of the first colonizers of Essex V, everyone is there for a reason, and no slackers are allowed!

Name:Miles Naismith
Race: silver fox
Age:45
Reason for being on the colony: administrative; he's the governor/sheriff of Essex V.
Description: Miles typically wears simple clothes; typically cargo pants and a long-sleeved shirt of some sort, given the temperate location of the main city of Essex V.
Miles worked as a high profile managerial staff member, but he had gotten into some... Problems. So he was sent to manage Essex V. He's going to do his damnedest to manage this colony, but his discomfort with his position often shows.

Name: H. Rayleonarde VI.
Race: Raccoon.
Age: Eighteen (18).
Reason for being on the Colony: Penal (prison) worker, and conscript defense...just in case.
Description: When not in his prison suit, he's commonly seen in the Penal Defense squad uniform. Holo-shackles keep his wrists and ankles bound, when off duty. Ray reports directly to Miles Naismith.
Ray sat in his cell, waiting for his squad to be called for another wild goose chase. He didn't mind that, the goose chases. It gave him time to see the outside world, and he assumed he was the only one in his squad to truly appreciate the missions. Ray tapped his foot lightly, waiting patiently.

Race: snow fox.
Age: 37
Reason for being on the colony: has conducted large studies of Essex V and is there to continue research.
Description: she commonly wears a black shirt and some jeans, due to the fact that they are the clothes closest when she's in a hurry.

Name: Aiden Mizuki
Race: Tiger
Age: 23
Reason: Wanted to start over and make a new life as well as observe what went on and sending the occassional report of anthing that happens.
Description: Aiden is a very quiet tiger. He likes to keep to himself. He is always seen wea a cloth wrap that covers his head to the middle of his stomach, the only thing you can see of his face is his eyes and ears. His lower torso along wih his light muscle definition is always able to be seen. He wears shorts that seem a bit tattered at the leg ends. His usually doesnt wear shoes. His fur is a soft cream color.

Miles absolutely hated this backwater ass planet. It vaguely reminded him of his home planet, earth, and if one knew nothing of anatomy and physiology, one could be convinced that the forests of Essex were the forests of earth. So that's what Miles was doing. He was looking at a forest from the (rather large) window in his office.

Ray was shepherded outside, and forced to patrol the city limits. He held a pulse rifle, while the prisoner shackled to him held the ammunition. "They force us to defend them, brothers, yet they keep the weapons and ammo apart." Ray chuckled, cynically.

Miles watched a pair of prisoners just outside city limits. He would have to replace them sometime, make them do more... Menial tasks. First thing, they were prisoners, and could not be trusted. and second thing, they were being forces to do this, which added even more onto the 'cannot be trusted' list. He would have to make it a volunteer thing. And he would have to request some security guards from the company. Those could be trusted to do their jobs.

Ray sighed, and looked up at the sheriff's office. He could see a figure in the window. "He's got it easy, brother. He never comes out here, and stands under the sun. Never stands out here to defend his city. No, it comes down to us." The other prisoner would've spoke, if he had his tongue.

Miles briefly looked down at his chrono, and realized it was time for him to go check on Parker's research. So he walked through the building, arms politely behind his back. When he reached Parker's lab, he knocked on the door an waited outside politely.

Ray sighed, and sat on a large stone. He remained silent, before singing the Anthem of The Soviet Union, quietly.

Aiden sat quietly, his ears flickered every once and a while, he grabbed a handful of sand on the ground then let it blow away with the wind. "..." He wondered if he had made the right choice. Could he really start a new life in a place like this? His cloth wrap swayed abit along with his tail, his feet felt the ground below. It was slightly warm.

Deirdre heard someone knock on the door to her lab, she looked away from the specimen she was analysing and stood. "I'm coming!" She manoeuvred her way through the piles of documents she laid out for reference and answered the door.

"Parker." He said respectfully "I have come to inquire as to the status of your research. So, how's it going?"

Deirdre smiled. "I have acquired a pure sample of the Mellonahdia flower and am analysing it's properties" she moved to the side. "Come in."
((Mellonahdia is pronounced: 'mel-lone-ah-dee-ah'))

"Ah." He said, taking a step into her lab, his hands still respectfully behind his back "what are the properties of this plant? And how might it be used?"

Deirdre manoeuvred around the documents and sat by the microscope again. "Mellonahdia, from what I can find, contains a compound made up of six elements, these elements are alien to Earth..."

"Huh." He says "Now, I know how amazing this can be, but such things are useless to our benefactors. Have you discovered any possible uses for this plant?"

"There are possible, medical and military uses, it could even be used as a possible power source..." She sighed. "But nothing is concrete, so I would appreciate it if you didn't tell him."

He nods "I understand. I'll write a report hyping up the fact that there are alien elements.... Do you mind if I have a look at your findings? Some pictures might be a good thing to include in the report."

"Yes, I have compiled some diagrams of the alien element's atomic structures, they are on top of the pile beside you." She gestured to the pile.

"Thank you." He said, taking the the holo-docs into his hand "I'll be sure to include these in the report. Is there anything else you needed?"

Name: Aconitum Lovien
Age: 21
Race: Jackal
Reason for being on the colony: Trade/importing and exporting goods
Description: Acon has dyed black fur and colorful hair cut into a lash sweeping curtain bob. She usually is seen in tight silver spankies, thigh high boots with buckles running up and down their sides, aviater goggles and a green bandana tied around her left bicep.

"No..." She shook her head. "I don't need anything."

"Right." He says, making his way to the door. "What are these elements called, might I ask?"

Aiden wondered along until he found himself at the city limits, he huffed. He looked around for any movement then slowly continued onward.

Just outside, Acon was leaning against her ship, men loading crates into it for a large long trip.

"I've researched this planet's lore and discovered that whatever inhabited this planet before we decided to colonise it they called them: drenkarom, donathio, moleno, foreno, brigatil and zeldinuk." She went back to looking through the microscope.

Aiden spotted a ship not far from him. He tilted his head and quietly crept onto the ship, observing what went on.

"Good, I'll be sure to include that in the report." He says, beginning to make his way to the door, but he pauses as he reaches it
"The...criminals of Essex V are available if you need test subjects." He says, turning around

Acon stubbed out her cigar and stuck her thumbs in her waist band.

"Thanks... I'll inform you if I need them." She smiled and stretched a little.

Miles smiled back at Deirdre, opening the door and seeing himself out.

She smiled as the last of the crates were loaded onto the ship. Acon scratched the back of her head with the claw on her pinky and sighed. "Hurry it up, gents. I'd like to get this over with quickly." She hollered.

Ray was shepherded through the city, minus his tongueless companion. The tongueless prisoner had panicked and attracted the attention of a large predatory alien creature. Ray fought it off to the best of his abilities, but still lost his companion. However, the regular guards thought that Ray had snapped, and murdered his companion. He was brought through town, paws and ankles shackled, and stun batons within inches of his body.

"Sir." One of his men called in "a prisoner came in without his companion. Orders?"
"What do you think happened?" Miles asked
"Personally, sir, I think he killed him."
"Proof?"
"No sir."
"Then count it as a strike on his record, nothing more, nothing less. But do keep an eye on him."

Ray was shuffled into his cell, and two heavily armed guards stood outside. He sat on the bed, and sang to himself, quietly.

Ives waited for the guards to continue their patrol of the cells before he got up from the steel bed and walked over to the bars of his cell.
"New arrival, huh?" he spoke to the Racoon in the cell directly across from him. "What did you get locked up for?"

Age: 19
Reason for being on the colony: Ives was sent as a frontier guard, however shortly after arriving he was arrested for assaulting one of his commanders.
Description: Still wears his guard uniform, though he has been stripped of his badges and rank insignia.)

Ray chuckled. "I've been here for a while now. We must have different shifts. They think I murdered my partner while on patrol." He sighed, and laid down. "Now I'm under high security, until they clear it up." Ray shifted, and looked at Ives. "You one of the penal workers?"

Now i am, but I used to be a guard. Ironic really" He laughed, "...i guess I'm the new guy then"

Ray looked back at the ceiling. "Yep, you sure are. Welcome to the real suck."

Ives sighed and sat back down for a few seconds, "Hey, one more thing..." he called out. "What do you think about the governor, when I was still a guard there were rumors going around about him overseeing experimentation on prisoners, is any of that really true?"

Ray shrugged. "I hear lot's of things. I've heard of earlier penal groups running away, and creating sprawling cities on their own."

"I guess it wouldn't be hard, once you get a few kilometers into the wilderness they'd never be able to find you again" Ives absently picked a stray thread on his uniform "Oh, I never quite got your name"

Ray smiled. "I'm Ray, my brother in confinement." He chuckled. "It's funny, they lock us up, and force us to work for nothing."

"Aaand... Done!" Miles says, pressing the send button for his report. It should buy Deirdre enough time to figure out the uses of the plant.
Then, he turned to the matter of Rayleonarde's murder of his compainion. He would have his men canvass the area via drone, looking for the body.

"-Yet it's the penal workers and conscript that defend them from any threats in this place... Maybe someday we might turn the tables for once, put those pulse rifles to good use against these slave owners"

Ray chuckled. "Listen to you! Talking of revolution in the belly of the beast, you're brave, I'll give you that. Nah, the pulse rifles have a safety mechanism on 'em. They jam if aimed and fired at guardsmen, or civilians." He looked at Ives. "Wait, you said you were a guard? Here? Or somewhere else?"

"I used to do private security on other planets and bases, i was only here for about 2 weeks before i got busted" Ive's replied, "It's possible to bypass safety controls, but you can't do it without tools, although..."
He looked around to see if any guards were looking, before pulling out a small bayonet out from inside his boot "Sometimes, old tech can be useful too... These guards sometimes miss a lot when they search you for weapons"

Ray looked at Ives, and whispered. "Put that away! You're gonna get executed!"

"Put what away?" One of the guards, a burly looking wolf, says, eyeing ray "drugs?"

Ray flinched. "Me? I-I don't have anything!"

"Give it a rest man, we've got nothing " Ives said to the guard after quickly shoving the knife back into his boot

"Yeah." The guard said sarcastically, raising a brow "leone, give both of them a pat down, a good one." With that, Leone, a white tiger, moved into ray's cell "stand up." He said

Ray stood, and spread his arms as far as the shackles would let him.

Leone gave ray a thorough pat down, even touching him in his... Unmentionables. A friend of his had been killed when a prisoner hid a shank on his crotch.

Ives stood up calmly and took off his jacket. He knew how to use the knife and he intended to put it to good use if they found it on him

Ray laid back down, and looked at the ceiling. "You guys must be paranoid. That's my third pat down today!"

"Better paranoid than dead." Leone said, locking the door behind him, and then moving to Ives' cell

Ives spread his arms and stood up straight, not wanting to arouse suspicion

Leone unlocked Ives' cell, and had him a thorough pat down. "Remove your boots." Leone said, taking a step back. He ha noticed a slight bulge in one of them. Possibly a knife.

"I ain't moving, take them yourself if you want them" Ives answered with a grin

Leone sighs, and then whispers "look, i know you used to be a guard.... And you need some protection here for that...I won't tell. Just don't use it on any of us, okay?"

Ives grin disappeared and he stepped forwards "...alright then, I'll keep that in mind" he said with a hint of gratitude.
"maybe there's still some sense in some of them" he thought

Aiden watched the Jackal,his ears flickered again. He never really met a jackal before so his curiosity was bursting. His tail wiggled. He smelled the cigar. His hiding spot wasnt that great but it seemed to be the only place he could watch her. The barrels in front of him thankfully werent moved.

"Alright." Leone said, giving a slight smile, and then turning to leave the cell "just don't use it on us, friend."

"Sure" Ives waited for him to leave. "I think i saw the combination he used for the cell" he thought.

As leone exited his cell, he raised a hand to his ear, keying the microphone "Right, that's all. Centcom, lock 'em up. Nothing found."

Acon lifted her nose to sniff to sniff the air, picking up the scent of fur close by. She turned to face the undisturbed barrels and sniffed again. She soon shrugged, writing the smell off as nothing more than a curious child.

Ray awoke, having fallen asleep soon after the pat-down. He looked around, for a moment, before looking out at the guards. "Mm. I just had a wonderful dream."

"Did you say something?" Ives asked Ray.
-
Ray nodded. "I said I had a wonderful dream." He furrowed his brow. "I can't remember it though."

"Right... well that's nice, I guess..." Ives responded, already contemplating how he could break out of the cell

Ray smiled. "Yeah, dreaming is nice usually."

Aiden was wide eyed, did she know? When she looked away he sighed with relief. He leaned against one of the barrels thinking it was full of whatever goods the jackal had in it. He was wrong, the barrel tipped over along with Aiden, the barrels all tiped over and rolled across the ship. He froze in fear on his hands and knees.

Acon whipped around to face the noise and growled. "Who the hell are you?!"

He remained silent but gathered his wits. He stood up and brushed himself off and looked at the jackal still curious, he approached her and walked around her, he put one of his hands on her cheek and looked into her eyes, he then began tugging around at her clothes. He let out another huff.

Acon was a bit weirded out, but when he started tugging at her clothes, she brought back her fist before she flung it forward, punching the fur in his nose.

Aiden stood there unwavering as the jackal's fist made contact. He simply stood there like a statue,he then grabbed her fist and uncurled each finger,he studied her palm closely, his cloth wrap became red with blood from hs nose but he seemed to not mind. "Aiden" he said with a low and rugged voice

Acon raised a brow as she let him study her paw. "Uh... Acon." She cautiously introduced herself. "Is there a reason you're touching me?"

"Never met one of you before... just wanted to get a good look... you are very good looking."Aiden stated bluntly

"Uh... thanks, I guess." She thought a moment before speaking again. "You've never met a Jackal before? Where are from exactly?"

Ray sighed, as he was shepherded out of the cells, and brought out for work. The guardsmen brought him to Captain Lovien. "Ma'am? Do you need an extra worker for a while? We're supposed to give him something to do, but we can't think of anything to do."

Acon turned and studied Ray for a moment. "Yeah, have him go back there and rearrange the cargo, I don't know."

Ray's shackles were loosened, and he went to work, stacking boxes and barrels. The guardsmen nodded. "Keep an eye on him, he's suspected for murder." With that, they turned, and left.

Acon smiled and leaned into threshold of the opening in the back of the ship. She studied Ray with a curious eye. "So... what are ya in for?"

Ray shrugged. "I don't remember. Though, recently the thought is I killed my companion." He sat another down.

Acon smirked. "Let me guess, you're innocent though, right?" She shook her head in amusement.

"According to the authorities, I'm not. But I didn't kill my brother in chains. But if you're an armed prisoner...people tend to not believe you." Ray put another barrel in the ship.

Acon smiled brightly. "There's always a twist. A small catch; so small, you never would've guessed it." She shrugged. "I don't think you did it."

Ray smiled, as he lifted another box. "Thanks. I appreciate it." He sat the box down, and walked back outside to grab another load.

Acon smirked. "I think it would be fair to tell you, those are empty. You don't actually have to move those." She pointed to the remaining crates.

Ray stopped. "What else do you need done?"

Acon shrugged. "Nothing really."

Ray sighed. "Well, for the next few hours, I'm to work for you."

Acon smiled. "Why we talk? Pretend to work until those tools come to get you back."

Miles gave a loud sigh, Perusing the holo-files he was given as a general report of the colony's progress. It was slow going. They only had three traders of any decent repute. Lovien, Woods, and smith were their named. They were most likely here to buy the meager scraps of ore from the mines on Essex V... Not enough to run a colony with any profit... The only possible revenue was from Parker and her plant... His job (and most likely, his life) rode on this woman... He hoped that she would carry through...another check in wouldn't be bad. So he got out of his chair, and walked over to her lab.

Ray nodded, and pretended to work. "So...what do you want to know?"

Acon shrugged. "Anything you're willing to share."

Ray shrugged. "Some crazy brought a knife into the cells. He's planning to escape, I think. I don't even know why, he's gonna be out in a while." He chuckled. "Me? I'm here for life."

Acon pursed her lips. "My my. Breakout's already being planned? And you don't want any part of that I assume?"

Ray shook his head. "I like having my head on my shoulders. Besides...you couldn't stay in the city. If the other prisoners didn't sell you out, the guardsmen would find you. We've all got little trackers in our bodies." He looked out at the wilderness. "Sometimes, if the breakout is big enough, they let them go."

Acon smiled. "I see. And this other loon has no idea of this?"

"Exactly. He just got here, doesn't know the ropes. He's either gonna get caught, or Big R's going to tell him." Ray sighed. "I hope he goes easy on him."

Acon raised a brow. "Big R? Sounds like a fellow who can make anyone his b**ch." She giggled.

Ray nodded. "Yep. I've done my best to avoid him. But, yeah. Big R isn't one to let an upstart try anything."

Acon chuckles. "Wonderful."

Ray shrugged. "Isn't it though?"

Acon sat on a crate. "Very much so. So who was your companion? What exactly happened?"

Ray sighed. "We were on patrol, and we gained the attention of a creature. I tried to save him, but he got caught. I had to shoot his paw off, and then I shot at the creature. The guardsmen heard the shots, and thought I killed him."

Acon nodded, taken in the information. "Mhm... the creature, what did it look like?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Like a giant octopus thing, I'm not sure."

"And you didn't kill it?"
-
Ray sighed. "I had a light pulse rifle, and the damn thing took rounds like a champ."

Acon grinned wide. "Good. Then we'll kill it. We'll find it and kill it!"

Ray shook his head. "I'd have to put in a request for leave, but I hardly think they'll let me."

Acon pouted. "I'm sure with the right strings pulled..."

Deirdre heard a knock at the door to her lab and flicked the vial of purified Zeldinuk. She had extracted and purified all of the elements in the Mellonahdia plant and placed them next to each other, observing each. "Come in!"

Aiden stayed by Acon's side, still studying her. He then turned his gaze to Ray and walked around him just the same way he did with Acon, he leaned his face in close to Rays and huffed, his ears twitched and his tail wiggled. He remained silent and returned to Acon once more.

Ray blinked, and stared at Aiden a moment. "Okay...Anyway, miss, I can't go free. No amount of string-pulling would change that."

"Thank you, Parker." Miles said, stepping into her lab "so, have you made any progress on the mell..." He paused a moment, the word stuck in his mouth "plant? I would like to ascertain what uses it has as quickly as possible."

Acon shrugged. "Too bad. It would have been fun." She laughed.

Ives walked to the door and tried to look outside, he just just see the electronic keypad on the door but couldn't reach it. He stepped back and returned to the thin mattress.
The dingo began cutting into the least visible side of the mattress with his knife and pulled out one of the springs inside. it would be long enough to reach the keypad and open the door himself. Ives set to work straightening out the spring.

Ray nodded, and held out a shackled paw. "It would have, miss...?"

Acon took his paw in her own with a smile. "Acon. Lovien."

Ray smiled. "I'm Ray. Thanks for talking with me."

She shrugged. "No big. I figured it'd do us both some good."

Ray looked over his shoulder. "Huh...I wonder where the guards are? I've been here at least three hours..."

Acon sighed. "Maybe they died."

Ray sighed. "I'd probably get blamed for that, too."

Aiden walked along the edge of the boat. He kept his balance quite well. "Mind if i tag along?" Aiden looked to Acon "Id rather stay here... well its not like you could stop me if i wanted to anyways..."

Ray sighed, as the prison guards came back to retrieve him. He stood, and left without question. "Goodbye, captain." The guards shepherded him back into his cell, where he laid down on the bed, and looked at the ceiling.

Aiden watched Ray leave. He held up his hand and waved it slightly.

As Ray was shepherded into his cell, he sighed. He flopped onto the bed, and spoke to no one in particular. "Cell sweet cell." Ray blinked, and scratched his back. A sticker fell from it, advertising bubble gum. He smiled, and stuck it to the wall. "Well, where did you come from, friend?" Ray sat, and stared at the advertisement.

Aiden reached his tail through the bars and tickled Ray's nose.

Ray sneezed, as he pushed Aiden's tail away. "You haven't been given an assignment?"

Aiden shook his head. He wiggled his tail again and purred silently. An unlocking sound was heard as Aiden entered the cell and closed the door behind him.

Ray blinked, and turned. "Hey, you feeling alright?"
-
Aiden nodded and sat on the bed, "you wanna leave?" he gripped at his cloth wrap

Ray shook his head. "Not particularly. I have a better chance with the guards, then I do with the crazies out there."

He looked to the floor, "Would you leave if I gave you weapons and a place to stay?" he looked back to Ray

Ray chuckled. "And then what? Get raided by crazies, and burned alive? No thank you." He laid back down on the bed, and looked at the ceiling.

He looked at Ray and slid a hand over his stomach and began tugging his clothes, he stopped and pulled out one of his arms and looked at it closely. "Would you like anything?" his ears twitched, "i can get you whatever you need... I can get guards to look the other way..."

Ray chuckled. "Nope. I'm perfectly complacent with what I have. I don't feel like being strip searched."

"I can get you out of strip searches... they wont check you ever." He became annoyed slightly and it was very obvious in his tone. He disliked talking.

Ray sighed. "For the last time, no. I don't want anything to do with whatever it is your doing." He turned, and looked at the clock down the hall. "I wonder when the trial is..."

He looked up at the clock, "Listen... I can do things... I can keep you here... I could have you transferred... I just wanted to help you out..." Aiden held up a paw and turned it with the palm upwards, a small light projected from his wrist and revealed an official looking badge. "im an observer, I get access to anywhere and have immunities... all I have to do is send reports to earth." He got up and opened the cell back up then left. "i don't want anything in return... im tired of they way things are run..."

Ray sighed. "Get out. You're making my head spin."

Aiden tickled Ray's nose once more before leaving, "im sorry" He soon disappeared

Ray blinked, as Aiden left. "That's a strange one..." He sat up, and stared at the clock, watching the seconds tick by. "I wonder when my next assignment will be, and what it will be. The guardsmen won't trust me outside the city anymore...so I'll probably get forced into janitorial work, or help in the science wing..." Ray sighed. "There goes my sunshine."

Aiden talked with the guards at the front,he showed them his badge and they nodded. Aiden left but before he walked out he gave Ray's cell one last glance.

Ray started singing idly, waiting for his next assignment. "You are my sunshine...my only sunshine...you make me happy, when skies are gray..." He continued singing, as he looked at the ceiling.

Ray's cell opened on its own this time by the automated security system
Report to the entrance for your assignment...
The intercom within his cell sounded.

Ray blinked, and looked around outside his cell. He shrugged, and started towards the lobby.

Aiden sat in the middle of the lobby and played with his tail like a child.

Ray blinked, and shook his head. "Of course, your behind the unaccompanied leave."
-
Aiden nodded and then motioned him to follow as he walked to the entrance.

Ray stood where he was. "I'm not leaving."
-
He sighed and walked up to Ray,he practically shoved the assignment papers into Rays face. "Im tagging along instead of the gaurds... now get going."

Ray read the papers. "Hm...Great, I'm on...wait...doctor's assistant? What doctor?"

Aiden remained silent and only shrugged.

Ray snapped. "Oh! Doctor what's-her-fur. She's up there." He walked towards the elevator, and waited for Aiden. "Well? I can't use the elevator."

Aiden calmly activated the elevator and nudged Ray a bit.

Ray turned. "What?"

He closed his eyes as if he were smiling. His cloth wrap still kept his head and torso covered.

Ray's brow furrowed. "What're you smiling about?"

Aiden straightened back up and turned away, "i-ive never had a friend..." he said in a flat tone

Ray shrugged. "I count you as more of an acquaintance more than a friend. But if that's the way you see it."

He relaxes a bit and sits back onto the ground like a cat,his tail wiggling and swaying. The elevator ascended as Aiden looked up to study the floor indicator. It softly pinged as it passed each level.

When the elevator reached its floor, Ray stepped out, and sighed. "Great...don't know anything about science." He walked to Doctor Parker's lab, and knocked gently, his paws still shackled together.

Acon was screwing around the area, having lost her giant millipede companion. "Willie Nelson! WHERE ARE YOU?!" She yelled.

Aiden stepped in front of Ray and placed a hand on the cuffs. He lodged something into the keyhole and the shackles fell off. "at least let me make your stay comfortable..." He turned away and heard the yelling... His ears twitched

"No." Director Naismith said, his hands seemingly eternally folded behind his back "you may loosen them. He did murder his comrade, after all."

Aiden froze, his tail stopped and lowered to the floor. Slowly he put the restraints back on Ray but they were much more loose. Aiden kept his head down and slowly stood next to Ray.

"Thank you, Mr. Mizuki. Now, since you are prisoner..." He pauses a moment, recalling the numbers "02348's guardian, you are thusly under the temporary employ of daltan incorporated, and thusly submit to all conditions and terms of any other daltan employee, and by saying that you accept these terms, you will then be 02348's guard."

Aiden gulped and nodded he looked up to the doctor with a somewhat frightful look "What... conditions and terms would i be put under exactly?"

Ray sighed, and looked around. "Where am I needed?"

"That of a standard daltan company employee." Naismith said ambiguously "if you do not comply, you must leave this prisoner as dr Parker's lab is private property, not owned by the daltan company, and that is where 02348 is going."

Ray hung his head low. "Back to being a number..."

Aiden softly bumped against Ray, "alright" he looks to the doctor with hatred, "you know the rules, if thes terms nd conditions interfere with my observation rights then ill have you reported..." he grabs Ray by the arm

"I am not." Miles said, keeping an air of smugness about himself "you are not being prohibited. I am merely informing you that dr. Parker's lab is private property, and you will be treated as such if you pass...." He stepped over a line "this line, you will be considered a trespasser, and will be shot, according to statute 34-B of the sharp amendment. You may be an observer, but that does not give you an excuse to trespass on private property, and dr Parker has agreed to rent out her lab to us in exchange for security. And through contractual obligations, she has allowed any employee of the daltan company that has a sufficient clearance to access a normal level II lab in. So, I've got you beat, Mizuki."

Aiden did his usual thing to Naismith, he tugged at his clothes and studied him closely, he raised on of the fox's arms and looked it closely squeezing lightly. He looked away and nodded

"What you are doing is illegal." Miles said simply "you are invading my personal property, and if I get the right lawyer, I can push for assault and battery. So, sign the contract, or do not pass the line. You may go wherever else you want. Our auto turrets are programmed to kill you if you pass into dr. Parker's laboratory."

Aiden cleared his throat, "got a pen?"

Ray stepped behind Miles, and continued walking into the lab.

Miles smirked, handing him a pen and the necessary papers. "Got you beat, observer." He said, with the type of grin someone would give when they know they have their opponent beat.

Ray stepped up to Dr. Parker's lab, and knocked politely on the door frame. "D-Doctor?"

Aiden rolled his eyes
-just you wait...- he thought to himself
he looked throught the papers and signed them. He handed them back to Naismith and continued on with Ray. He leaned in and whispered, "are you scared?"

"Now, you have just submitted to a memory wipe, thank you. Anything you see here cannot be legally reported, though that doesn't matter, you won't remember any of it." He smiled at him devilishly "it's either memory wipe, or death. You just signed the papers, after all."

Deirdre jumped awake at the sound of knocking at the door, having fell asleep while purifying the extracted elements in the Mellonahdia plant. In front of her, vials of said extracts laid on their sides. "Come in." She rubbed her eyes.

Ray walked into the lab, his head pointed at the ground. "Sorry I woke you, Doctor. I was sent up here to help...?"

Aiden looked back angrily at the doctor, "what the hell?! no way!" he dashed past the doctor ripping the contract in half leaving behin a portion thenrushed to the door and jumped out of the nearby window. "Damn idiot"

The director rolled his eyes, pressing a small button on his chrono. A drone quickly flew after Aiden, grabbing him up in a stasis field, and bringing him back to the director. He had a big, shiny, combat pistol in his hands, still smirking.

Acon knocked on an open door with a sweet smile. "Hello? Anyone in here?"

Aiden let out a loud roar. He struggled and tried to move. "lemme go!"

Director Naismith simply clicked his tongue. He led the drone to a room of sorts, and had him laid on an operations table, still in the stasis field. A helmet looking thing descended upon his head, and director Naismith chuckled evilly. He hated those damned observers anyways.

Ray sat on one of the chairs in the room, and watched the Deirdre, waiting for her orders. Ray spoke quietly. "M-Madam Doctor?"

Aiden was wide eyed with fear. He kept trying to struggle. "You stupid idiot you dont understand!! You CANT do this!" He then thought of Ray. What was happening to him?

Ray blinked, the lack of sleep finally catching up to him. He swayed slightly, and fought to stay awake.

"Could you tell me your name?" Deirdre looked at the veils on the table.
-
Ray blinked. "M-My name? Umm...Rayleonarde? Though, it might be Ray on the papers...I don't know."

Naismith gave a chuckle "why, yes I can! You did sign the papers after all." He walked into a room with a locked, steel door,(the same as the one they entered) and stood behind a steel reinforced one-way mirror. He exchanged a few words with a technician, and he nodded in response. Then, and arm on the drone extended, and pricked you with a needle. Some sort of clear fluid flowed into your veins, and it almost immediately began to calm you down.

Ray stood, and walked a few feet towards Deirdre. "W-Why do you need my name?"

Deirdre stood and stretched. "I need your name because I want to address as." She extended a paw. "I'm Deirdre Parker."

Ray took the offered paw in both of his, as his paws were shackled together. "Nice to meet you, Doctor Parker."

"N-No i... wont let you... get away with this..."he began to slowly feel the effects of the drug. his struggling ceased

Naismith let out a laugh, and spoke into the PA "neither me, nor the daltan company have done anything wrong. If you had read the papers you signed, you would know this." He turned, and exchanged a few words with the technician, and then a visor slid down from the helmet, obscuring your vision "if you hadn't run... We would have just wiped what you saw here... But an observer loyal to daltan.. I just cannot wait to see the opportunities!"

Ray smiled at the doctor. "So...Doctor Parker, what will you have me do?"

Aiden began to slowly lose his grip on his surroundings, "p-please... i dont... want to forget..." his vision started to fade as well, "i want to... remember..." his fists unclenched. he felt a slight pulse in his head, his eyes felt wet. A few tears escaped his eyes and stained the cloth wrap covering him. He let out a small mewl like a baby tiger.

"Don't worry, you'll remember the important stuff." He sighed. He actually felt bad for the kid, crying like a cub and all... He almost never let his feelings get to him... But today, they did. "Creating new memories is expensive, anyways. Just enough to ensure your loyalty."

For whateer reason he remembered his Observer test result. why? he didnt know himself... maybe because it was the only thing he held onto that told him who he was. He remembered the critique of them... 'Intellegence and reason are that of appropriate age. But emotion and mentality as well as curiosity and inquisitiveness are that of a mere child.'
He felt another pulse then heard the machine whir to life. "i want... i want to... see them again... why did they have to go?"

"Turn off the damned receptors." He growled. He felt bad for this kid... He didn't know why. He had never felt bad about such things before, and he had created 'loyal employees' at least twenty times. He tried to keep a professional air about himself, but he felt himself wavering.
Apparently, the technician noticed. "You sure you want to do this, sir?" He asked
Naismith simply nodded his head in response, and the tech simply pressed a button. His memories all flashed upon the screen, and Naismith watched them intently, looking for a good place to add in the new memories.

Aiden felt the weird sensation of something press into his mind. He gasped and the pulsing began going crazy. He felt something harshly pressing back against it making his mind feel like it was being slammed into a wall... he screamed repeatedly. The memories began to become staticky then an appearent Observer logo had appeared onscreen. Aiden lurched and clutched at his head. The adrenaline rushing through his sytem instantly clearing out the drug. He was in the fetal position clutching at the helmet. "OW OW MAKE IT STOP IT HURTS!!! PLEASE IT HURTS MY HEAD OW OW!!!" He felt something crawling through hs head... a million little somethings. He was crying harder than ever. The memories bagen to flicker back onto the screen then flickered back to the logo. "STOP IT WANT TO GO HOME! MAMA I DONT WANT TO DO THIS!" he was reliving his harshest moment of his life

"Knock him out!" Naismith shouted, turning his head away "I don't... I don't know if I can take it!" He sighed, and sat down, shaking away some memories he would rather forget.
The technician looked at him, worry clearly shown on his face "are you... Okay, sir?"

He wanted it all to stop. if only he could get something sharp. He was writhing on he table uncontrollably. His screams became silent as he strained his vocal cords until they were raw. His tears kept streaming down his face. "make... it stop... please... i dont wanna hurt anymore... im tired of hurting... kill me... just kill me... i wanna see mama again..." he managed to say in a very worn and croaky voice

Ray sighed, and sat back down, his eyelids drooping.

"Goddammit!" Miles hissed, clawing at his ears. He wanted this to stop, as well. "shut him up!"
The technician shook his head in response, somehow not affected by this "Can't sir. Makes the wipe less effective. But I did find a good way to make him loyal...."
Miles looked up at the technician, nodding
The technician nodded back at him, keeping a cool, professional air about himself despite aiden's screaming an mewling "we could... We could make you his father, sir."
Miles simply nodded in response. He was thinking of having a child, anyways.

Aiden saw it... the memories of him and the direct- no his father. They had done so much together. Even when his mother died his father was always there. He was there for his certification of Observers. He wanted his father more than anything now. He wanted to make him happy. "Daddy... it hurts..." his eyes searched the room for him. he then snapped back to his reality, "wh-what am i saying!? I dont... my father.. is... here... daddy please im scared..."

Naismith turned to the tech, and asked "done?" Quite matter of factly. The tech nodded in response. So, Miles opened the door, a warm look on his face, even though he knew Aiden couldn't see him.
"There there..." He cooed "you took a pretty bad knock to the head, but you're okay now... Daddy's here for you." He smiled, walking up to the machine, pushing the visor up, and bringing him into the tight embrace of a hug. He would do the best he could with this kid.... For Martha.

Aiden trembled a bit but quickly clutched onto his father and let out a soft mewl. "It was so scary! It was dark daddy and i couldnt find you!" He nuzzled against the fox's cheek
"but its okay now cause youre here! you wont leave me right daddy? right?"

Miles smiled, nuzzling him back "I would never! I love you!" He continued to smile, petting his back. He sighed happily
"I'm glad you're okay... You had me worried!"
He closed his eyes, wondering if Martha could see him now, ad if she would be proud of what he was doing.... By god he hoped.

Aiden smiled widely and wiggled his tail, "i love you too daddy! can we go home now?"

"Hold on, can I get a few words with the doctor?" He asked "I want to see if there's anything I have to do." He looked towards the (no longer) mirror, and the lynx behind it

Aiden nodded and sat back, he quietly played with his tail.

Miles smiled at him, walking back inside the room with the tech, making sure that Aiden couldn't hear him. Once he was sure, he turned and asked the lynx "right... Could you give me a summary of the important events of his life? And could I have a copy of his most important memories where I was?"

The lynx nodded and typed a few things into the computer.
He leaned closer and adjusted his glasses in order to read.
"Okay sir... lets see... I simply melded most of his life into yours replacing you with his father... but there were a few things i had to manipulate in order for it to make sense...such as his father actually survived the massacre tha happened at his home other than just him only... youve pretty much been incorporated at school graduations... you taught him pretty much everything he knos other than combat training... and by the looks of it he is extremely skilled but he seems to not like fighting if it can be helped. ummm... oh Martha... ive put her in place of his real mother as well... and it seems he had undergone a few lab tests.. you may have to look at a few memories in order to know..."

"Dieter," Miles said to the tech "thank you..." Saying such things was most unusual for him. But he was glad to have this kid as a son, again most unusual for him. He sighed, and said "Send me a copy of the important events, I'll review them tonight."

"Ts all part of the job," Dieter smiled comfortingly and nodded, "theyll be there when you get home sir. Good luck"
Dieter inserted the necessary memories into a file and named it 'Son.exe' then dragged it to the mail window. with the hit of he enter button it was sent off.

Miles nodded, and walked back out of the control room. As he exited, he smiled warmly at Aiden, and said "You're fine! Fit as a fiddle! Now, let's go get that ice cream I promised ya! I know this great parlor on Dakota street!"

Aiden being the curious tiger he is was playing and studying the wires and somehow entangled himself in them, his cloth shroud riding up a bit revealing a scar on his belly, "Oh yay! ice cream ice cream! but first could you help me daddy?" he smiled sheepishly

"Alright!" He laughed slightly, ignoring the scar, shaking his head, and moving to help him. "Curiosity, eh?"

Aiden giggled and nodded, "Its my job to be curious daddy! Im an Observer!" Aiden managed to wiggle free then grabbed his new father's hand trying to tug him towards the exit, "come on we gotta go get the ice cream!"

Miles smiled, allowing himself to be tugged "Ice cream!" He said cheerily, taking the lead as he neared the exit, holding the door open for Aiden

Aiden bounded out the door and looked up at the sky, he took a deep breath and squealed a bit. "I want cake batter ice cream!" He waited for his father and sang about ice cream

Miles smiled, threw his head back, and laughed. He sang like a child, and that's what he liked about him! "Alright! Cake batter it is!" He thought a moment, wondering what flavor he would have "hmm... I'll have a tiramisu!"

Aiden giggled and dashed down the steps, he accidently bumped into a rather large and shady looking fur,"s-sorry"
The fur let out a low growl and grabbed Aiden by the scruff of his neck. He brought him close to his face and huffed.
"sorry aint gonna cut it you pathetic waste of fur!" Aiden gulped and looked into the large furs emerald eyes,

Miles sighed, And shook his head. "I'd recommend you not do that." He gave (what he calls) a negotiator's smile; it could bee interpreted as either friendly or intimidating.
He pushed back his suit jacket slightly to reveal the metal glint of his combat pistol, taking every measure to puff himself up, and make himself seem bigger (which he was bigger than your average fox thanks to the gene mods he had spent several hundred thousand credits on).

Aiden held his paw out behind him at Miles, "i got this daddy..."
He looked at the large fur again and huffed, "please let go and leave"
the large fur laughed loudly "like hell i will kid you cant do-!"
without hesitating Aiden swung his leg up and around hitting the fur in his face, he let go and flew int a wall, "i warned you mister..."
he looked back and smiled at his father "ice cream! come on come on!"

"Hold on." He stunned the man just for good measure "I'm going to call my guards, take this guy to jail..." He brought his wrist-comn to his muzzle, and spoke into it
"Director Naismith here, to report an assault, my current location. Suspect is currently unconscious, come and pick him up."
He turned to Aiden, and said "we have to wait until the police get here to pick him up... Got that?"

Aiden lowered his ears, "yes daddy. im sorry."

Miles shook his head "you didn't do anything wrong!" He tousled his hair affectionately "I just want to make sure this guy doesn't do anything like that every again!"

Aiden nodded and timidly wrapped his tail around Mile's leg.

Ray cleared his throat, as he paced about the lab, waiting for orders from Doctor Parker.

Miles continued to smile at Aiden, sitting on the steps nearby. Within a few minutes, a police groundcar had arrived, and two officers came out, slapped some holo-ties onto him, and ferried him into the back of the car. He looked at Aiden, and smiled "Ice cream time!"

"yay yay yay!" Aiden jumped happily and tugged at his father's arm yet again

Miles smiled, following aiden's tugs towards a family-friendly looking ice cream parlor, it's mascot an ice cream cone with eyes.

"yummy yum ice cream is yummy yum yum!" Aiden sang as he burst through the door to the parlor, "oooohh i want two scoops in a cup!"

The young Fossa behind the counter looked to them with a smile "so, what will you two be having?"

"cake batter with gummy bears!" Aiden chimed and wiggled his tail happily and excitedly
-
The fossa nodded, placing two scoops of cake batter ice cream into a cup and sprinkling gummy bears onto it. Once he was done, he slid it over to Aiden, and turned to Miles
"What would you like, sir?"
"Tiramisu, one scoop, in a cone, please."

Aiden looked a bit nervous, he sa at a nearby table and sunk his head low as he lowered the cloth wrap from his muzzle, a scar tracked up and down across his lip, his teeth seemed extremely sharp but he still struggled to chew the cold and hard gummy bears. He looked around to make sure nobody saw when he took a bite of it. a small X scar was on the bridge of his snout. while on the opposite side of the vertical scar a small bald spot was visible n the lower part of his mouth.

Ray sighed, and guards came to retrieve him from the lab. He stood, and nodded at the sleeping Doctor Parker. "Tell her what happened, if she awakens." They nodded, and ushered him back to his cell.

Miles smiled at Aiden, tactfully ignoring his scars. He had seen worse, and that was just in his tenure as an administrator on Essex. And that was when he was with people he hated, but had to smile at because they were paying him money. He liked Aiden, or at least he thinks he did.

Adien saw Miles smaile and he smiled himself, his teeth showing. "i love you daddy!"
his tail wiggled as he slowly wrapped it around Mile's arm affectionately

Miles continued to smile, petting his tail affectionately around his prosthetic arm "I love you too!"

Aiden finished his ice cream and quickly covered himself again and let out a relieved sigh, "so... can we go home NOW?" he giggled

Miles nodded "now, we can go home and play smash brothers!" He smiled at him, punching his arm playfully "Robin is BAE!"

Aiden let out a playful mewl and pawed at his dad's arm, "now way Kirby is bae!!!!"

Miles crouches down, and then moves his hands, as if casting a spell "nosferatu!"

Aiden jumps onto Mile's back and giggles loudly, "sneak attack!"
-
Miles fell to the floor, mimicking Captain Falcon's death cry, giggling as he hit the floor.

Just then someone had cut themselves on a broken bottle, Aiden froze and his pupils dilated, his feline paws began showing its claws, "killed them...." the scent of blood stabbed at his snout. he became limp and unaware
-
"H-hey!" Miles went, waving a paw in front of aiden's face "are.. Are you okay?"
-
Aiden shook and let out a small whine, "d-daddy please get me out of here... im scared...."
-
Ray sighed, as he was lead out of his cell, and back to the holding chamber. One of the guards were dispatched to Miles, caring work-release forms.

"Hey, its alright, it's gonna be okay..." miles cooed,taking Aiden into his arms and stroking his hair "It's alright, I'll get you out of here."
-
The guard, who bore the nametag Simmons, stood just outside where Miles was said to be, and waited for him to exit.
Ray went to sit, but the guards jerked him upright by the shackles on his wrists.

((*rubs shock pads* CLEAR! *zaps*))
Miles rushed out of the building, Aiden in hand "h-he just... Passed out!"

Aiden mewled and cried out, "d-daddy make the burning stop... it hurts."
-
"Hey, hey! Daddy's here for you, he'll make it stop. You'll be fine!" He continued to coo encouraging words, stroking his hair lovingly

The guard with Ray's work release papers, stood several feet away, his gaze respectfully averted.
-
"Hospital!" He practically yelled to the guard "now! Call an ambulance!"
-
The guard, Simmons, did as he was commanded. An ambulance arrived in a few moments, and paramedics rushed towards Miles, medical kits and a stretcher in tow.
-
"He... He just passed out!" He said, obviously quite worried "he... He said... 'Make the burning stop'... I don't know what's wrong, fix him!"
-
The medics lifted Aiden onto the stretcher, and into the ambulance. They took off, towards the hospital, as another medic stood beside Miles. "We can't diagnose him from here, sir. Once he gets to the hospital...they'll have the tools for it." He patted Miles' shoulder, as he walked towards the hospital. Simmons stood, the forms behind his back, and his nose pointed towards the ground.

Miles sighed, his hair frayed, and his eyes worried. He turned to Simmons "what... What do you want?"

Simmons sighed, and shook his head. "It's not important, sir. Your child is your concern."

He sighed "thank you, Simmons. But work is work.... So" he sighed "give me the papers... I'll do them in the waiting room."
-
Simmons handed Miles the papers, and gave a slight bow. "If it doesn't bother you, commander, I will stay with you. To return the papers when you have finished."

Miles sighed, running his hands trough his hair "yes, Simmons... Come along."
-
Simmons followed behind Miles, silent and obedient. Ray watched from the holding cell.

Miles sighed, walking over to the hospital. He hoped that Aiden would be okay...

Aiden lay on the cot, hisbreathing labored and heavy, "d-daddy... im so... im so scared..." he reached out in his sleep, he felt a force push back against his arm but thought nothing of ituntil a nurse screamed, he opened his eyes to a large hole in the wall, his fist outstreatched to where it would be, he teared up, afraid of where he was, he let out a half cry and roar, "daddy!"

Ray heard Aiden's roar even from where he was. He shook his head. "What is wrong with him?"

Acon slendered up begged Ray and rested her elbow on his shoulder. "Dude I don't even know."
-
"I... I don't know." Miles said, his pace almost breaking into a run "I... He just..." He shook his head, mentally saying 'screw it.' And then, he began to run.
-
Ray looked at Acon, his brow furrowed. After a few moments, he broke into a smile. "Oh! Captain Lovien! What a pleasant surprise."

Acon smiled back. "Yeah, I got bored and decided I'd pester Miles, but I can't find him."
-
He saw doctors and nurses coming towards him which frightened him further, "g-go awway i want to see daddy!" he threw his arm against a doctor that got a little too close, the doctor was flung back through a wall braking a few vertabrae. he dashed out of the rom and looked down the hallways, alight began to flash overhead signalling an escaped patient, he saw gaurds running towards him, he screamed and swung his other arm like before, hitting three guards and sending them flying back the the end of the hall, "w-whats... happening?"

Ray shrugged. "I don't know. I wouldn't bother him, though. When I saw him last, he seemed distraught. Pestering him might entail more punishments for me."

Acon hugged Ray. "Aw! I wouldn't do that to ya, Ray!"

Ray flinched, and looked at Acon, awestruck.

"Oh..." Miles cursed as he arrived at the hospital doors there was an alarm signaling an escaped patient. He rushed in, looking for aiden

Acon hugged Ray tighter, holding his face into her chest, obviously not realising what she was doing. "What's wrong Ray?!"
-
Ray blinked, at the sudden embrace. "Y-You're...t-the only person to...to use my name, o-of late. T-That...and this."
-
Acon loosened her grip on Ray. "What do you mean?"
-
Ray motioned at the guards. "These people, men and women, all hate me. Half of them I've never met, and the rest I can't speak to. But you...you just...took a liking to me, after you met me. O-Or...this is a cruel joke."

Acon smiled and shrugged. "You didn't do anything to me. Whatever crime you committed didn't affect me, so yeah. Besides," Acon wiggled her eyebrows. "Me likey bad boys."

Ray chuckled. "Well, I'm the only son-of-a-bitch that put Big R in his place."
-
Acon put up her paw to stop Ray from saying any more. She climbed into his lap and crossed her legs with a tight smile. "Tell me more."

Ray shrugged. "There's not much to say. I got arrested on...I don't remember what charges. But now they're saying I killed my companion."

Acon nodded. "Ah, yes. And Mr. R is... afraid of you?"
-
Ray shrugged. "Respect is the word I'd use."

Acon nodded. "That's tits."

Ray raised an eyebrow. "What? What does the female anatomy have to do with my history?"

Acon looked up at Ray with a sheepish smile. "I-I mean that's cool, good. I... you're fine."

Ray nodded. "Yes, well." He rubbed his nose, his shackles rattling. "What kind of perfume do you wear?"

Acon shrugged. "My mother makes it. All natural." She lowered her ears. "Why? Do you not like it?"

Ray shook his head. "No...actually, I really like it. I haven't smelled anything past foundries and my own cell for...forever. It was a really nice scent."

Acon reached into her pocket to take out the little bottle of perfume. "Lavender!"

Ray sniffed, and sighed. "I-It's...lovely."

Aiden let out another roar and ran through the halls sobbing hysterically, he then yelped as he felt a sharp pain in his thigh, it was a dart, "d-daddy... save me..." he fell unconscious

Miles sighed, walking up to the nurse's station, and asking where Aiden was. The kind looking sheep behind the counter have him a room number, and Miles headed there. As he turned, the sheep said "you've got a good kid... Tried to escape and find you."

Aiden was restrained in a cot still asleep, the straps seemed strong enough but even so there were guards posted at the door

As he approached the door, Miles saw two guards standing there. He said nothing, walking straight past them, into the room. He sat next to Aiden, gently stroking his hair.
"Hey, it's okay." He cooed "Daddy's here."

A small tear escaped his eye as he nuzzled into Miles' paw, "daddy i thought we were going home... w-what happened? did i do something bad?" he groggily opened his eyes as his lower lip quivered

"I'm here." Miles said, giving his hand a squeeze "don't worry, I'm here for you." He gave a sigh "you're in the hospital..."

He smiled a bit as Miles comforted him, "oh... so... i guess... i got hurt?" he squeezed Miles' paw back and managed to free his tail and wrap it around his arm, he looked down and noticed that they had taken off his cloth wrap he started panicking slightly, "daddy i want my covers... give me them..." he said with a demanding tone
A doctor walked in and heard Aiden he leaned to Miles and whispered, "procedure... we cant let him stay covered concealing weapons and such... i know he is your child but we still must take precautions... plase understand sir."
Aiden tried struggling against his restraints, his scarred bodd and bald spots of hair looked unnerving, "cover me im a monster! im an ugly mnster and i dont wanna see me!"

He looked to the doctor, growling as a scowl played across his face "Cover him up!" Miles said, getting right in his face "or so help me, you won't ever see the inside of a hospital again!"

The doctor gulped and rushed out, he came back with a wite sheet and Aiden's wrap, "s-sorry sir...."
Aiden kept crying not noticing the covers, "im ugly! no one wants to see this.... not even me!"

"Out." Miles said, refusing to look ft the doctor.
He turned to Aiden, sitting on the bed "Hey, hey, I'm here! I want to see you! I love you!" He sighed. Maybe he could get a clone to transplant Aiden's brain into. Or the less morally wrong cosmetic surgery. With Aiden, it would most likely be much more expensive. But it was Aiden, so he would do it.

aMonitor floated in with a letter attached to the screen, 'for you to work... you should really take a look at Aiden's files.... -no one special'
Aiden stopped struggling and looked to Miles, you do? d-do you mean it?" he sniffled.

Miles smiled, giving a nod and a smile "how could I not? You're such a sweet kid!"
He turned to look at the monitor, quickly reading the note and taking it off before Aiden could read it.

Deirdre walked in, slow and unstable. "H-hello... E-everyone..." She threw up and collapsed onto the ground in front of her.

he smiled brightly and wiggled his tail, "i love you so much daddy! and id hug you but..." he looked down to the straps that held him to the bed
he soon oohed and aahed at the floating monitor

Miles sighed, ignoring the collapsed Dr. Parker. Hospital staff would clean it. Even as he sat there, robotic cleaning mice skittered from their dens, eating up the vomit and running back to their little hidey holes.
Miles smiled, and gave a light chuckle as he saw Aiden oohin and ah-ing at the monitor.

A medical monitor then showed up revealing Aiden's anatomy and vitals, it showed that when adrenaline took affect in the body it somehow increases by 10 times making him extremely strong. His brain and cognative functions were more active than that of a normal fur's, Aiden was clueless and only tiled his head as a woman's automated voice explained this to Miles

Miles nodded, and turned to Aiden "you're fine as you are... But I could get you some surgery to fix you if you want! I could even get a clone flash-grown for you."

Aiden shook his head, "if daddy says im fine then i am! now can you please get me out and can we pretty please go home? i want to play as kirby already!" he giggled

Miles gave a chuckle, calling up a nurse to his room. Once she , a red fox, arrived, Miles asked "get him discharged as soon as possible."

After about two hours Aiden was released and tugging Miles to the exit, "come ooooooon! " he wrapped his tail aroun Miles' prosthetic arm and continued tugging

Miles chuckled, allowing himself to be tugged to the exit. He reached his aircar, and held open the passenger door open for Aiden

Aiden hopped into the car and looked in awe at the shiny lights and buttons.

Simmons ran up to Miles', and saluted. "Sir? Those forms I gave you...did you finish them? We've got the prisoner in holding, awaiting those work forms."

Aiden looked to Simmons and gave his own salute making a serious face and furrowed his brow, he then cracked up and giggled,

"Yes, yes. I did." He handed the papers to him dismissively, starting up the aircar with a mechanical whine.

Simmons took the papers, and stepped back. "Thank you sir." He started back towards the holding cells, and read the forms.
Ray sighed, as Simmons came into view. "Here comes the Harbinger of work."

Deirdre was still passed out on the floor, breathing heavily.

A nurse sighed, coming to pick her up. It was the same nurse that came to Aiden's room. She picked her up, and gingerly dumped her onto a hover bed, floating her over to the ER.

Ray sighed, as he was lead back to the guard station. They smiled, as Ray was stood in the middle of the room. Simmons placed Ray's papers on the counter, and spoke aloud. "Welcome to your first lesson in prisoner capture in retrieval." For the next few hours, Ray was beaten, tackled, strangleheld, tazed, and an assortment of other things.

Aiden perked his ears as he remembered a document strangely, "daddy? where is Ray? im supposed to watch him... right?"

"He was released." Miles said, giving him a pat on the back of the head "that's what those papers were for!"

Simmon's scraped at the form, until the header seemed to peel off. Underneath, the header read 'Guard Training Assistant.' Simmons smiled, and spoke to himself. "My men never received proper training. I'm sorry I had to go behind your back, commander."

Aiden looked out the window, "do you think maybe we could go see him?"

"Sure. If you want. I'll drive you there!" Miles said with a smile. He hoped that the guards weren't mistreating him right now.

Ray looked up at the guard captain, through one bruised eye, and spit out a tooth, defiantly. "S''at all you got?" His vision went monocolor, as the captain brought a baton across Ray's skull. Ray hit the floor, and shook, struggling to rise.

Rain started falling and hitting the glass making soft pitter patters on the glass, Aiden started to doze off.

Acon got up an walked around wherever she was, still looking for Miles.

Miles sighed, jostling Aiden slightly as they arrived at the holding cells. He drew a personal water-shield, and attached it to his belt. He tossed one at Aiden as well.

Acon sniffed out Miles and smiled.

The guards helped Ray to his feet, and checked him. "I think you hit him too hard, Cap. He's got a concussion." They looked at the captain, and blinked. "S-Should we take him back to his cell?" The captain shook his head. "We've got one more training session, melee combat." The medical guards blinked. "But, captain! Y-You'll kill him. He's already hanging by a thread, he's hardly breathing."

Aiden caught the shield and holstered it in a hidden pouch under his cloth wrap, "come on daddy!" h jumped a bit

Miles nodded, stepping out of the car, and into the rain. An invisible bubble of steaming water appeared around him, giving him a ghostly appearance.

"Oooooh~ you're gonna get it~" Acon whistled at the captain from behind him.

Aiden saw Acon and smiled widely, he remembered their little meeting on her boat, he rushed up and hugged her, for whatever reason his memory of his aunt melded with his memory of her, "Aunt Acon!" he giggled

The guard captain saluted, as he spotted Miles. The two guards supporting Ray let him go, and saluted. Ray stood shakily, before collapsing.

Acon smiled down at Aiden with a raised brow. "Uh... hello." She pat his back.

"You have holograms for training, if that's what you were doing." He let out a sigh "use them next time. They're expensive, and so are the prisoners."

Aiden then noticed Ray, he teared up and chocked back a sob, "R-Ray? W-what... wh-who did this?" he slid onto his knees in front of Ray and rested his head on Aiden's lap

Aiden snapped to Miles, "training?" he then scowled at Simmons, "you did this?!"
Aiden layed Ray back to the ground and stood facing the captain, "if all you needed was a training dummy," Aiden t in a ready stance, "then use me..."

The medics looked back at Ray, and began to help him. The guard captain looked at Miles, and sighed. "But, fighting a hologram versus an actual prisoner is different, commander. I'm sorry we didn't use the holograms."

Aiden huffed, "daddy... make him spar with me..."

"Go ahead, do it, captain." Miles have him his trademarked negotiator's smile "you'd be suprised at how good he is with fighting."

The guard captain shook his head. "No sir. I can't harm a civilian. Prisoners are...a different story." The medics lifted Ray to his feet, and spoke quietly between each other. "He's not conscious. We need to get him to a hospital." "Or a morgue, if we aren't quick enough." "Gerard! Shut up, the kid's right there." Both medics looked at Aiden quickly, before saluting to Miles. They shuffled off, carrying Ray as best they could, while one called the ambulance.

"Yeah, capin!" Acon spat on the captain's shoe before she quickly followed the other men out.

Aiden dashed forward and grabbed the captain by the collr shaking him a bit, "assault of an officer... im not a civilian anymore...." he swept his foot behind one of the captain's feet causing him to fall forward, Aiden brought his knee to the captain's face and swung a fist to his snout.

The guard captain grunted as he hit the ground, and deftly stopped Aiden's punch. He rolled Aiden over, and put him into a rather sloppy submission hold. "Commander? Are you sure you want me to spar with your child?"

"That I am." Miles said, still giving his smile "nothing permanent, but I'm sure you already knew that."

Aiden growled and threw his forehead up headbutting the captain, "i know i do!!!"

The captain reeled back, and pinned Aiden a little more forcefully to the mat. He clenched his jaw, and kept himself out of range of Aiden's head.

Aiden lety out a low roar and slowly he raises his wrists lifting the captain up along with him, "how.... dare... YOU!!!????" he threw the captain back and jumped away a bit

The captain landed on his feet, and readied himself. He looked at Miles. "Sir?"

"If he wants to stop, he'll say so." Miles said, his hands folded behind his back, watching the two of them with a neutral expression

Aiden was breathing heavily with rage, his pupils small, he let out a low growl and beckoned the captain to make the first move.

The captain readied himself, and reset his neural combat implant.
The medics got Ray into the ER, and began trying to save him. The medic named Gerard began speaking idly. "Don't give up. Come on, man. Don't you die on me." The other medic, named Carter, tapped Gerard's shoulder. "Hey, he's comatose, genius. He can't hear you."

Miles continued to stand there, a neutral expression still on his face. In all honesty, he wanted the captain dead, or at least put out of duty. His family had some connections unfortunately, which forced Miles to keep him here. He wanted one that was less corrupt, and less of a... *sshole to put it lightly. He had his eyes on one of the men, who seemed to be a suitable replacement.

The captain acted, and tackled the much lighter Aiden, trying to pin him to the ground.
Ray was laid on an OR table, and was hooked up to several machines that were working to keep him alive. The two medics stood a few feet away, and spoke quietly. "I don't know if he'll make it, Carter. He was in pretty bad shape." " You don't think I know that, Gerard? If he dies, Miles'll put the captain out of a job, at least." "And what about us?" "An injured prisoner dying on our watch? Heh...we'll be luck to teach high school Health classes." They both looked at Ray, and sighed.

Acon somehow showed up in the ER and nodded over Ray. She was dressed like a surgeon and crossed her blood soaked arms. "You bros are in side deep doo doo."

Carter raised an eyebrow. "Oh? For what? Keeping that one there partially alive, or getting him in here in record time?"

Acon smirked behind her surgical mask and shrugged. "Get cocky all ya want. He's in pretty bed shape."

Carter looked at Gerard, and they both clapped heartily. "Oh, very good observation doctor. Wonderful, just brilliant." Gerard sighed. "Why do you think we brought him here? There was no way we could've kept him alive at the guard-station. Massive concussion, several broken bones, a fractured skull, and blood loss? This guy's lucky we got him here alive."

Acon moved to peer down at Ray with a warm smile. "Aw~ poor Ray." She removed one of her gloves and stroked his cheek softly with her thumb.

Both Gerard and Carter walked up to Acon. "You aren't a doctor, miss. Please leave."

"Oh I'm not?" She did a little paw movement around Carter's ear and revealed a folded piece of paper. She handed it to him and turned back to practically molesting Ray's face.

Carter raised an eyebrow, and unfolded the paper. "What is this?"

"It's that little thing all doctors have that prove their doctors. What's that thing called?"

Carter shrugged. "A medical license?"

Acon waved her paw nonchalantly. "Yeah, that."

Carter shrugged. "Seems legitimate."

Aiden twisted out of the way of the captain's attempt and brough an elbow down hard to his back hoping to break something, he then unrtracted his claws and gave him a nice scratch in the side

The guard captain winced, and delivered a massive blow to Aiden's chin. He drove an elbow into Aiden's shoulders, hoping to wind him.

Aiden fell to his knees and huffed, he then launched himself using his arms, his foot outstretched to the captain's abdomen.

The captain nearly doubled over, but had the sense to grab Aiden's foot, and threw Aiden into the mat, like a living sledgehammer. The captain panted, and looked at Miles. "Are...we done?"

Miles gave a smirk "Are you done? Cos it isn't over till one of ya taps out, or passes out!"

The captain rolled his eyes, and tapped the mat. "Now, if you excuse me, I have paperwork to fill out, commander." He started towards his office, rolling his shoulders.

Aiden sat up and shook his head, "next time.... ill kill you..." Aiden stomped off to the men's room and threw some cold water on his face

The guard captain shrugged, and stepped into his office. He sighed, and began doing paperwork. Something about using prisoners for live munitions training, he didn't know.
The medics panicked, as Ray seemed to flatline. Carter began CPR, while Gerard scrambled to find a defibrillator.

Aiden rushed back to Miles, "daddy please take me to Ray... it doesnt seem like we will be home in time for dinner... but please daddy i need to see him!"

Acon watched the men work with a look of slow amusement crossing her face.

Gerard, returning with the defibrillator, charged the device, and shouted. "Clear!" Carter watched the heart monitor. "Minimal change. Again!" This process repeated a few times, to no avail.

Acon pursed her lips. "Hmm... shame."

After the eighteenth try, and a few alterations, the medics finally got a response from Ray. They sighed, and patted each other on the back. Ray's heartbeat monitor went on, his heart rate stabilizing.

Acon cracked a smile and raised a cocked a brow. "Huh." She looked down at Ray.

The medics looked at Acon, and Carter held up the license. "Aren't you supposed to be doing something, doctor?" Gerard blinked, and shook his head. "Heartless..."

Acon shrugged. "I should, but... I didn't come to Essex V to be a doctor. I came to be a cargo transporter and that's exactly what I plan to do." She kissed Ray's forehead.

Gerard blinked. "You mean to tell me, you could be helping this man, but you won't because you transport freight!?"

Acon nodded. "Yup. But hey, don't get mad at me. I'm not the one that him get put into condition in the first place."

Carter blinked. "I'm...I don't even know..." He sighed, and looked at Ray. "I'm sorry your...whatever she is...is so eager to abandon you."

Acon faked a hurt look. "I'm not abandoning him! I love this man! You two are perfectly equipped, why don't you carry on like you were going to before I got here?"

Gerard looked at Carter, who returned the stare. "W-We're...We're only equipped to deal with...like...gunshot wounds."

Acon smirked. "Oh really? And... what, may I ask, were you planning to do if I hadn't shown up?"

Carter shrugged. "Keep him alive until the real doctor shows up."

Acon rolled her eyes and groaned. "Fine." She soon pulled on her gloves and got to work on Ray.

Carter and Gerard sighed silently, and stood a few feet behind Acon, watching intently.

Acon sat up after a while and sighed. "There! All patched up." She stroked Ray's cheek with a paw. "He's really gonna feel that when he wakes up."

Carter approached Ray, and winced. "Those scars, though. He's gonna be confused."

Acon nodded. "Yes... but at least we can try to help him understand.

Carter shrugged. "Fair point. Hey...he's coming to."

Acon looked down at Ray with a warm smile. "Mornin." She greeted softly.

Ray blinked, and coughed. "W-What...what happened?"

Acon sat on the edge of the table. "You were him on the head pretty hard."

Gerard spoke quietly. "And the understatement of the year award goes to..."
Ray blinked. "By what? My...My memories a...a little foggy."

Acon picked up a jar of cotton balls and chucked it at Gerard.

Gerard ducked the jar, and scowled. "Hey!"

"Shut your mouth!" She growled before turning back to Ray. "Some idiot was using you for something stupid."

Ray chuckled. "Every day in my life..."

Acon smiled. "How are you feeling, Ray?"

Ray sighed. "Ooh...like my eggs got...scrambled..."

Acon raised a brow. "Interesting?"
-
Ray nodded. "Y-Yeah...interesting."

Acon sighed. "Well, you're up now. What will you do?"

Ray shrugged. "Lay here...and wait for my organs to stop hurting."

Acon gave Ray the thumbs up. "Sounds like a plan, stan."
