"Please... keep them safe... they are in danger..." a voice cried out faintly, a small wolf child looked out through the clouds as if he could see something beyond them. He hod that this time they could hear him. Maybe he was wrong. He held his hands together and bowed his head as if to pray, a small light start to shimmer in his clutch. "Please.... keep them safe no matter what!" He then disappeared.

Jacob sat up with a jolt, his alarm clock blaring in his ear. After shaking off the sleepiness he turned off the alarm and looked at his arm. His steel forearm bracer was still there, along with the strange purple gem in the middle. It hadent left his arm since it was handed down to him, "To important to be lost or forgot. " he had been told. The fox wondered if he still had fur under there. He got out of bed and got dressed, rolling the hoodie sleeve over his arm before stepping out into the cool Denver air.

I stand in front of a world map on my wall in a dark room looking at pictures of the people who hold the shards that I need, "God damn it, how the hell am I supposed to do this!" I say smashing my fist to the wall. I pick up my phone and start punching numbers into it, it goes to voicemail and I wait for it to beep before talking calmly into it. "Hey Sotharc, I need some help, uh come armed." I end the call and toss the phone onto the floor, then running my hand down my face. I pull a knife out and stab it into Jackob's photo "you're first"
-
picking up the phone and listening to the message, Sotharc calmy walks out of his doored garage and begins walking down the street on his toes like a Raptor.
''Help? hehehehehe, that's interesting... who are we hunting? Let them be worthy of it! Ghahahaha.. feel salvation!''
The rune tattoo burned in, etching itself into Sotharc's face, then the tattoo fades, leaving the shape of the rune.

Kiniia was sat on a stool, staring into her coffee, watching the bubbles pop individually. the small tendrils of vapour rising out from the recycled cardboard cup. They were in a small coffee shop. Rain was lashing down outside the windows, Kiniia was not alone, her friend Jade was sat across the table from her, bright red hair to contrast her dark brown and black fur, she was a doberman, she was sat looking at Kiniia expectantly.
"Hello? Helloo? Earth to Kii, come in? is anybody home?"
a light touch on her shoulder made Kiniia jump
"Oh gosh! Sorry! I had the strangest dream just now.."
Kiniia's friend looked at her quizzically.
"You were awake though. Are you sure you're okay?"
Kiniia nodded and rubbed her eyes, smudging her make-up a little
"Yeah, yeah im fine, just a long first day i guess. Who knew teaching children how to play piano was so taxing?" She gave a small smile to her friend to reassure her, who still didn't look convinced. "Honestly Jade! I'm fine"
Jade raised her eyebrow, then gave in and drained her coffee as her phone rang, checking it, she sighed
"Oh, it Eric. I should take this, are we still on for tonight?"
Kiniia smiled and nodded as Jade answered the phone and waved goodbye to her.
Once she was sure she was out of sight, she rubbed her forehead "what the hell was that?" she thought to herself, taking a drink from her now lukewarm coffee. She checked her ring, the only piece of Jewellry she wore. "This? its a relic. I have no idea what it even is...maybe i should take precautions." She grabbed her big jacket and wrapped it around her as she finished her coffee and prepared to step out in to the wet and windy city of London to get home.

Jacob couldnt quite place it, but today seemed... off. Things were happening in the city like they usually do, but he couldnt shake the feeling something bad was going to happen. He walked into a city park and sat down on a bench, looking up at the Denver skyline.
-
Aakor was in the middle of a dirt bike track day type thing when he lost concentration and was sent hurtling over the handle bars as he landed a jump and into the dirt with a loud thud. Seconds later his bike crashed into his chest side ways knocking him unconscious.
-
Nathan Wilson left his small apartment in the city and walked onto the street. He was tired and hungry but breakfast would have to wait, he needed money first.
Nathan hated robbing in daylight but he was behind in his rent and getting a job was out of the question with his lengthy criminal record. And so he began walking down the street searching for a target, checking his revolver and switchblade in his jacket pocket.
'Perfect' Nathan said as he noticed a dark grey fox seated a park bench in front of him. Wilson approached the figure and sat down calmly next to him on the bench.
Nathan leaned over and without warning he pulled out his gun and pressed it against the fox's side
"Listen here mate, don't be a hero..." he growled "...Just hand over your money and your jewellery and no one gets hurt"

Leon was somewhere in Mexico, working a contract. He was to kill a VIP for the mexican army, all unofficial-like. So he and his team were moving in on this bastard's house, a small, clay hut. He and his men stacked up behind the door, an Leon was getting ready to kick it down.
-
A shiver went down Jacobs back as the gun pressed into his side. Sometimes he hated when he was right. "Y-yeah, no problem." He said, pulling his sleeve further down his arm to further cover up his gem. "Just take it easy, im going to get my wallet." He showed his left hand before slowly slippong it into his pocket, gripping around the handle of his .45. But beforw he pulled, he looked over and saw the thiefs necklace. With a gem just like his. "Wait a second. Where did you get that?"
-
Puliing out my phon, I call Ben (Câü). *Ring... Ring... Boop* Ah, Where are you? Im walking everywhere looking for this street!
Just then someone walking by bumped into Sotharc. ''Hey! Watch were You're going!''
...Grr, next time I won't be so quiet.
Sotharc stood and waited for his answer patiently as he was in a good mood.
His tail swishing silently and gently as the warm wind blew through his fur.

A news report comes on detailing akkor's accident and that he was in a critical condition in a British hospital, located in Oxford.
-
"3..." Leon whispered, counting out the numbers on his hands "2..." He readied his foot to kick down the door. But he was interrupted by a loud bang that deafened him. He looked down, and there was a neat hole through the center of his chest, thing pierced right through his plates. "Oh...f*ck." was the last thing he said before falling to the floor, unconscious.
-
"N-No! Save them!" The wolf child pleaded as he thrust forth a paw sending small wisps of light out, Leon's and Akkor's shards had began to glow. His form had appeared in front of the two injured ones. The other shards had began to fully activate and glow as well.
-
Aakor drifted in and out of consciousness as his damaged brain tried to pull itself back together.
-
The child gripped Aakor's paw and sobbed, "please! please wake up!" His existence seemed to waver, the child wasnt able to be seen or touched by others
-
"Nufck!" Leon grunted as he shot upwards, a hole in his Plate. He pokes an prods at it, amazed that he was still alive "h-holy..." He sighs, getting back up and laying against a wall, glad to still be alive. Then he drifted off into a fitful sleep.
-
Nathan looked puzzled for a second, no one had ever pointed out his necklace before and he wonder if it was just a distraction. But a flash of something metallic on his target's wrist quickly caught his attention so he pulled the sleeve exposing forearm brace, in it's center was a crystal, identical to his own.
"What the hell!" he exclaimed as he stuffed the unloaded revolver back into his pocket "...where did you get that thing?"
-
Aakor was slowly coming back around. "Ugh... What... Happened?.." He asked with his eyes still closed.
-
"It was handed down to me from my grandfather. He said its been in my family for generations and was something that was to important to be lost or forgotten." Jacob looked down at his forearm then over to the shining stone on the theifs neck. "Where did you het yours?"
-
"My father gave it to me before he died, he said it was more important than i could ever understand" Wilson sat back down next to him
"I never knew there were other crystals... Look, I'm sorry i pulled a gun on you, My name is Nathan Wilson, what's yours?" Nathan asked, eager to learn more about the crystal he wore
-
Jacob was weary, but let go of his .45. "Jacob Hail." He said. "And its alright, just be lucky I noticed your crystal." He smiled and gave a small laugh. "I didnt know there were others either, I mean whats the chance two of them are in Denver? I mean..." The fox stopped, the gears turning in his head. "Do you think there could be other people who have these... important gems?"
-
"Most likely, up until now i never knew there were any others, so i doubt we're the only ones" Nathan observed, pulling the black handkerchief down from his face. "The main question is where are they?"

Kiniia finally made it to the apartment complex, after fighting with the elements for 20 minutes. Riding the elevator up her room on the 19th floor. a small puddle of rainwater had gathered beneath her as she watched the numbers clamber upwards. the familiar feeling of her stomach lowering as lift rose higher and higher.
Finally coming to a rest, the doors opened and Kiniia walked out, pulling her keys out preemptively, muscle memory helping her to find the keys with her numbed fingers. Finally getting the door open, she flicked on the lights in her apartment, the overcast and cloudy day making it seem a lot darker than it was. Her apartment was moderately furnished, maybe a little more high end that you would expect from a teachers salary. Dropping her bags at the side of the door, she locked herself in and took off her big coat. She shivered a little and decided that it was cold enough to warrant heating.
The boiler whirred to life and she heard the water trickling into the radiators, she smiled at the thought of a cosy night in with her friend, but first. it was time for her to relax. Walking into the bathroom, she turned the faucett until scalding water was cascading down into the tub. Placing the plug in. she walked back to her room, and started to strip out of her wet clothes.
With only her thick fluffy fur covering her decency, she walked back to the bathroom and waited for the bath to fill before slipping into the hot, relaxing waves, scented with chamomile and vanilla.
-
The wolf child knew his interferance was only the beginning now. He let go of Aakor's paw and stepped back a little. "I have to talk to all of them..." he then turned into another small wisp and went into Aakor's shard, rreturning to his home. He then held his paw over his heart and closed his eyes. "Life shards... bring me your protectors. I seek council with them all!" Like before, small wisps flew out and travelled to each protector. The first wisp reached Kiniia, the wisp wandered around her apartment.

Alex sits calmly in a library, he idly holds a hard cover book, but, he isn't paying attention to it's words. He's more watching the other beings around him reading their books. He hasn't felt like he could concentrate on a book for weeks now, and every time he tried, the words just mash together, and he gets stuck on simple words, almost always, jem, and child.
He looks down at his book and realises now he's been holding it upsidedown. Not like it mattered, he couldn't focus to read it anyway. He sighs and looks at the steel of his necklace, the jem hidden under his shirt
"Stop bothering me" Alex whispers to himself, looking down at the necklace. He looks around feeling a bit foolish after saying that, making sure nobody was near enough to hear him. He let's out a sigh and gets up to leave, closing the book and leaving it on the table.

Saphira is hiding on a rooftop in central Copenhagen, keeping a close eye on the street below, she spots an easy target - a young foreign female tourist. *that one* she thinks at her brother, who is hiding in plain sight.
Sephir walks past the target snatching her wallet out of her open purse unnoticed. When he is sure he is safe and undetected, he takes flight and joins his sister. "Nice job as always sis" he says while teasing her by petting her head.
Saphira growls lowly "stop that!" And moves away from her teasing brother. Irritated she thinks at him *you are getting sloppy. The target noticed you walking past her!*
Sephir sighs *yeah, yeah sis, whatever. I got away didn't I?* he smiles arrogantly, tosses her the wallet and takes flight.
Saphira now sighs as she catches the wallet and thinks to herself *why was I cursed with this never serious brat as a brother?* she follows him into the air and they venture back to their newly rented apartment. They never stay anywhere for long as they aren't excactly best friends with the authorities, and being part dragon makes them stand out a bit.
-
"A bit irritated that Cau didn't pick up... but whatever... I'll find him eventually." Sotharc let out a small growl and continued walking
down the street, wondering what the area was that Cau was residing. "I know im close.. I have to be.... He's around here somewhere." Afterwards, Sotharc just went about his own business and decided to go eat somewhere, then he went to a park to watch eeryone enjoy themselves. It was sunny with a little cloudage. It was more blank sky than it was overcast.
-
Saphira desided to go out for lunch. She stopped at a cafe-like sushi place and looked at the lunch-menus. She was wearing a pair of plain jeans and a blue scarf that matched her eyes.
She decided on the cheapest menu and went inside to order. It was half-filled with customers. She scanned the room and it seemed safe so she continued to the counter.
Sephir was lazing about in the apartment, he had told Saphira that he wasn't hungry, even though he was starving, because he had to plan their next job. He was laying randomly on the black couch, twitching his right foot back and forth, trying to figure out how to get to London. He considered flying to Germany and following the beach, but he wasn't sure yet, Saphira hated it when they had to travel that way. He let out a sigh.
After a while he decided to check up on Saphira, even though he new very well that he would have sensed it if she was in any danger. *sis how's it going?*
She sent him a mental image of her half eaten plate of sushi and cut him out. He hated it when she did that, he felt naked when he wasn't able to contact her immediately, should it be necessary.
-
Relaxing music played, pulsing lightly through her apartment. All the while Kiniia was soaking her muscles in the bath, her eyes closed she let out a long relieved sigh
"Bath's should be mandatory for everyone, the world would be so much more peaceful". She thought to herself while blowing a stack of bubbles from her hand. She held her breath and ducked her head underwater, letting her hair get wet, and giving her face a little wash before she left the warm embrace of the water.
She dried her body a little, so it wasn't dripping wet, and wrapped herself in a bath robe with her hair tied up in a knot. She gave a little stretch and let out an unintentional squeak as her back popped a little, Flicking on the TV, she laid on the couch, ready to vegetate for a few hours.
Something caught her eye though and it made her jump, she let out a surprised scream at a wisp floating around her apartment "What the hell is that?!"
-
The wisp spasmed and the slowly approached Kiniia. It inched closer, the closer it became the more distinct pulse sound like a heartbeat was heard.
-
Kiniia backed up and fell off the couch, scrambling for something to defend herself with from the weird glowing wisp. her hand wrapped around the handle of an old tennis racket and she raised it towards the wisp.
"I-i don't know what you are...but don't come any closer, i'm warning you. i-i have the police on speed-dial".
-
Jacob thought for a moment, staring down ay his gem. "Im not sure, but I tbink we should stick together. "
-
Leon was in a cafe when his shard began glowing, puzzling him. He left and began walking, it was like he knew instinctively where to go. He eventually arrived next to Nathan and Jacob, Leon standing several inches over them. "Interesting..." Leon whispered in his thick Russian acccent. "What are your names?" Leon asked, a demanding tone in his voice.
-
Saphira had a sudden strong impulse that she needed to be with her brother. She rushed out of the sushi-cafe so quickly people stared confused at her and then stared down at their food, wondering wether it might have been bad food that sent her running out the door.
As soon as she was out she calmed herself down and started walking back to the apartment.
Sephir suddenly felt a strong urge to be together from the link to his sister. He sat up and looked at the door, awaiting her arrival.
-
Please... help...
He wisp sent out a telepathic surge to Kiniia. It was the wolf child speaking.
The wisp then flowed slowly closer and rested on the shard that Kiniia had on her person.

The other wisps had began to meet up with the others. All flying around their vicinity.
-
When Alex left the library he took off in flight for his home, he lived a good distance away from the city, and flying over all the traffic was faster than going through it, what's the point in having wings if you don't use them anyway. He made it quickly to his home, it was fairly small, a two bedroom home, but he enjoyed it. When he stepped into his house though, he felt like something else was close. He looked around before closing the door behind him and noticed a little wisp floating about, like if someone flicked a bit of smoke in the air. He looked at it confused, he didn't smoke, and the heat was never on, so nothing would be burning. He blew at it in an attempt to disperse it.
-
Saphira stepped into the apartment and closed the door behind her. When she looked at Sephir she let out a small scream of surprise, something was floating right above his head "what on earth is that?!" She said and pointed at it.
Sephir looked up and let out a small scream waving wildly with his hands, before he fell down from the couch and landed face-first on the floor. He crawled over to Saphira and panicking hid behind her.
*coward* she thought and sighed. She got a hold of herself and decided that something looking like that probably couldn't hurt them, "what do you want?" She asked while making a shooing motion since it slowly floated closer, "d-don't come any closer or.. Or I'll eat you!" She yelled while backing up against the wall, squashing her brother a bit in the process.
-
By now Aakor had made a miracle of a recovery and was back on his feet exploring a cave system in a forest.
He was climbing back out as a wisp flied straight ahead of him leaving him with a mixed look of confusion and curiosity. "Hey! Come back here!" He yelled as he scrambled up the rock face.
-
"Jesus..." Leon went, closing his eyes and resting his head against the wall, now back at the house he and his men were using as a sort of FOB "how the hell am I still alive?" He saw a wisp float in through one of the windows, but dismissed it as someone smoking something, though it did not smell of drugs
-
It began to rain in Florida, and rain was perfect for a little "shopping", as he would've called it.
The rain would've not pushed him if he was already inside. It happened a few minutes after he left a building.
"Cau.. wherever your house is, I'LL.." A flash of light behind Sotharc caught his attention.
"Why, that HAS to be his little house!" Sotharc didn't hurt anyone today but rather he was offered some help, like a towel or a dry jacket and stuff.
"I swear if it's not these blades are getting washed again! but not on purpose, only if someone asks for it." Sotharc walked into the house and explored it thoroughly until he found one little room with a list of people who hold the gems. One picture had a knife in it and it was labeled 'Jacobs'
All of the information was in the folder that had other targets names in seperate ones.
"I'll hunt him down first.. but it doesn't look like he has a gem. I'll find out when I get there."
The folder stated Jacobs was currently in Denver, Colorado.
((Or was it Delaware? I know two people are in the same place.))
-
"Jacob" The fox said to Leon. He peered down and saw that Leon too had a crystal. "Where did you get..." He stopped , staring at a wisp that hovered towards him.
-
All of the wisps whispered out into their minds,
Please... help.... stay safe... stay away from danger... protect them
The wisps began going into each shard.
The world seemed to stop as well as everyone but the protectors. They were put into a slumber like stasis as their minds were ll pulled together in what looked to be a crystal palace with no walls... it seemed endless... pillars stood here and there. A solf child peeked his head out from behind one and shuffled nervously.
-
"What... The...f*ck..." Leon went, shooting a confused glance around, feeling like he was in some damned carnival house "where... The hell..." He shook his head, assuming that this was some sort of bad high
-
Kiniia dropped her 'weapon' to the side at the wisps request for help.
"H-help? How can i help?". Pulling her robes tighter around herself, she was really confused about this situation "...i wasn't spiked or anything was i?". The creamy white vixen thought to herself. Her confusion grew as the wisp spoke again "Stay out of danger? Theres a possibillity im in danger?". She looked down at her ring, dropping the tennis racket to adjust it slightly on her finger "Because of this?"
Kiniia looked up and realised she was not in her apartment anymore, but something more akin to a crystal palace, she yelped a little in surprise and looked around herself to find other people there too "W-what the hell is going on here?!"
-
When Alex heard the voice in his head he looked at the wisp, "danger of what? Protect what?" Alex says just before the wisp goes into his necklace and the world seems to change for a moment, leaving him in a large expansive crystal room -huh, kind of like my mind, except bigger, and more sparkly.- he looks around to see others in the large room too. He looks along the pillars and notices the child. He looks a bit surprised to see him her, as most of the others that where here looked a fare bit older than the child to him.
-
"Stay out of danger? Danger of wh..." Hacob was cut off as the world shifted around him, Denver fading away and being replaced by walls of crystal. "What?! What is this?!" He turned to see more people in the room, just as confused as he was. But more importantly, they all had gems.
-
The Wolf child shuffled out from behind the pillar a bit more, he kept his head down and trembled slightly. He yipped at some of the yelling and the scary looking ones. He dashed back behind the pillar and peeked his head back out. "i... im sorry"
-
Saphira and Sephir looked confused at the wisp "help with what? Protect what?" Saphira asked. They gasped as the world changed around them and were amazed at the beautiful place they had been pulled into.
When Sephir noticed that there were others than just him and his sister he quickly stood up and stepped away from his hiding position behind his sister. "Who are you? And where are we?" He asked the others.
*I don't think they know either* Saphira thought at him and took his hand. She was a little on edge.
A child spoke about being sorry. They turned their heads towards him.
Saphira let go of Sephir and slowly walked towards the child. "Hi there, I'm Saphira" she said gently and reached out to him "what's your name?" She asked him smiling warmly.
-
He quickly shied behind the pillar and a moment later his head peaked out of one a few feet away, "V-Vital... my name is... Vital"
-
Leon sighed this kid seemed to have been here first. He may know where the hell we are. So, Leon approached him, attempting to Seem as un-threatening as possible. "Hey, kid... Do you have uh... Any idea where we are?" He offered a smile, still trying to appear less threatening.
-
Like before he shied away and appeared peekng behind a completely different pillar, "y-youre inside... your shards... this is called The Re:Collective"
-
Alex looks around a bit more and then looks a the child. "So, this is us in mental form inside an area of magic? So, Vital, I can't help but notice, you don't have any sort of jewellery, why are you here, and if you know, why exactly are we here." Alex says
-
Vital noded, "I... im the Life crystal... or at least im its consciousness... I brought you all here... im sorry. I live in all of the jewelry you wear. brought you because i feel somthing is coming to hurt me and you all... i just had to warn you... im sorry." He teared up a bit and disappeared behind the pillar. His sobs could still be heard
-
Leon raised a brow. This kid lived inside the crystal? He's it's consciousness? This reeked of As bad high. Or at least... He doesn't know. Leon is a merc, plain and simple. This little wolf won't prevent him from doing his job, if that's what he wants him to do.
-
Saphira looked surprised at the kid as he disappeared and reappeared behind another pillar.
They listened to the conversation while thinking things through together. *if this is some weird dream, then how come there are these people we've never met before?*
Sephir made a small cough and said "so something's coming for all of us? What is? And how are we supposed to protect these?" He made a gesture towards the gems. "Saphira take off that gem, we don't need anymore trouble than we're already in!" He said angrily to his sister, it frustrated him that he was in no way in control of the situation.
*no mother gave us this gem to protect, we can't just throw it away and you know it!* she thought at him.
They stood there for a while seemingly just staring at each other and sometimes making some gestures, while they were actually having a conversation only they could hear. In the end Sephir sighed and said out loud "fine but don't say I didn't warn you when we're both getting killed by this whatever is after those things!" He turned away from her in anger. "Hey kid! So what's the plan?" He yelled almost growling.
-
Vital appeared instantly in the middle of the group of furs he shrieked due to the growl of the twin, he crouched covering his head and shut his eyes tight "just keep the shards close... until i can figure something else out... im sorry idont know much yet dont hurt me!"
-
Alex walks up to the child and puts his his hand on his shoulder and looks at sephir "you don't talk to children much, do you?" Alex says before kneeling down beside vital. "Don't be afraid of him, but, I think if everyone has said their share, and you have said yours, then I think you should let us back to our world, because it seems you took one here before they were descent" alex says the last bit quieter and glances at kiniia.
-
Sephir loosens up "I'm sorry kid" he says and tries to look un-frightening "sometimes I let my temper get the best of me" he laughs a bit "but if you're like the soul of these gems aren't you like very old anyways?" He asks a bit confused. "Oh and maybe we should introduce us all before you send us back to reality" he points out and boops the child's nose.
Saphira has now moved closer, standing next to Sephir, they seem to have forgotten their fightings for now.
-
Aakor had been quiet the entire time just listening too what everyone had to say. Then dropped from above landing silently just behind the previously bickering twins. "Hey... Is anyone else feeling a bit cold?" Aakor asked as he tapped the wings of the twins.
-
Saphira's and Sephir's instincts took over as they went into defensive positions. They both moved their tails quickly twirling them around Aakors legs and bringing him down.
"Oh my god we're so sorry!" Saphira exclaimed and reached out her hand to help him get up again, "it was pure reflex" she blushed.
Sephir couldn't help but giggle a bit over his sisters blushing, because of their special link he didn't just see her blush - he felt it. "Yeah sorry mate, we have been trained to always be on guard" he reached out his hand as well. "But as to the cold thing, we have pretty thick coats and are used to cold weather, so you'll have to ask someone else about that one." He smiled a crooked smile, being a bit amused over the whole situation.
-
"Oh sh**e!" Aakor exclaimed as he fell to the floor. "Ugh... It's fine. I know about instincts from personal experiences." He took the offers of help and pulled himself up. "So..." He looked at the child and put a paw on his chest as his eyes shot open then fell back as his mind went and images flashed before him. "Agh!" He yelped as the images went and left him with a migraine.
-
Vital looked to the twins and Aakor then wagged his tail, "Aakor youre okay!" without thinking he dashed to Aakor and hugged him tightly he then looked to the fur that had been shot and smiled with relief. "Oh thak goodness.." He looked to the twins, "m-my age is.. well i age differently... for you all im only 8 and half!" he said with a proud smile "but if you were to put it in human years of how long i have lived... im around 2000 i think?"

Vital backed away and shook his head. His teary eyes returned, "n-no... you cant be..." the room started to waver large chunks of cieling and pillar began to fall. "Go! just go ill talk to you all in your minds now! please stay safe!"
-
"...my head! It hurts and my chest feels so.." Aakor then collapsed into the hard floor with a loud thud and curled up. He was clutching his chest and his head was tucked between his knees as he laid in his side.
-
Vital looked to Aakor with worry, he then saw a black figure standing over him, "Stay away!" He looked as if he knew what was happening to Aakor. With a gentle light he tried to ease Aakor's pain without interfering with whatever was going on inside of him. "shhh dont speak just relax!"
-
"My chest! Why does it feel so hot yet cold?!" He blurted out. The shadowy figure just stood there and did nothing. It was invisible to everyone else.
-
Jacob had leaned against a piller quietly, staying back and taking in all the information the wolf child was giving. He peered around at each member of the group and took mental notes of each of them, before shifting his eyes over to Aakor. "Hey Vital, when ya got a chance I have something to ask."
-
When Leon sees bad things, his first instinct is to shoot them. So he shot at the bad thing standing over Aakor, a burst of 8.6mm SPC flying at his target.
-
*sitting in the world quietly* I can see each individual rain droplet... it's wonderful... wonder-wonder-wonder-ful-ful..
I can't go anywhere right now. I move, i'd probably break something. break-break-break... *shakes my head* relax & focus.
Target-target-target... Jacobs-Jacobs-Jacobs... hunt-hunt-hun... *deep inhale* relax Sotharc. just wait it out.
((Im trying to be included without breaking this current scene))
-
Vital looked to the others, "Im sorry you all have to go now! Leon please stop doing that!" He waved his hand out, the furs all began to disappear one by one. Each returned to there bodies and time began again. Vital kept Aakor in the shards for a bit longer than the others, "Aakor there will be a moment when you have to make a choice... pease... please choose right..." with that he sent Aakor off as well.
-
Aakor returned to his body and was no longer in the cave system. "How the?" At that point he felt a cold chill run down his spine as he looked around and realised where he was. He was still in the forest but there was an old abandoned hut in front of him. "No... No no no no..." Aakor then fell to the floor in tears as he remembered an accident that happened when he was just a pup and how he should have died that night... If he hadn't made a deal with the grim reaper. "Please don't... Not yet..." The blacked out figure seeped out from the shadows and said. "You made a deal. You would be host to my life force and for that I would make sure that you lived from the accident and when that deal was over you would die happy."
"Why did you chose me to do this?" Aakor asked as his voice was trembling
"I asked you because you still wanted to live. You didn't want to give up on life." Then the figure held out his palm and a black smoke seeped out and into Aakor's nose and mouth. After that he passed out.

Leon sat in the building, staring at his necklace. He brought a paw to the bridge of his muzzle; He didn't know what to do. He definitely didn't want to go on another Op. even though that weird kid was probably some sort of bad high, he felt that he should listen to him, for some odd reason. Now, where to vacation to? He wanted to do something beach-y...Hawaii? No, to expensive. Florida? 'Yes...' He thought 'yes, that's good.' He had some relatives down there, anyways. So, Miami it is! He and his squad would have to stash their weapons... He could probably bribe his way into Cuba. He would make a pit stop there on his way to Florida.
When his little thought train had reached it's destination, he stood, and said (loudly so that his men could hear it) "Alright boys! We're going to Florida! Beaches and b*tches for everybody!" This resulted in a resounding whoop and a round of applause from his men as he stood there, smiling.
-
"But wait i need.." Jacob sat back up on the park bench, breathing heavily and looking around. He was no longer in the crystal palace, but back in Denver, the city going on like nothing happened. Hr rubbed his head and got up, walking out of the park and down the street. The grayfox knew he had to find the other gem holders, but where to look?
-
Saphira and Sephir were returned to their apartment. Sephir was in the cowardly position he was standing in as they were brought into the crystal. He quickly got up and headed for the fridge because he didn't really know what to do. The only thing in the fridge was a lonely beer so he took it and opened it.
Saphira ended up sitting on the floor as Sephir, who was jammed between her and the wall, had moved away quickly.
As she sat there she wondered about the whole thing.
Sephir could feel Saphira's concerned thoughts, but he decided not to disturb her.
He laid down on the couch, the top of his back resting against the arm-thingy. As he drank his beer he too began to wonder about everything.
-
Aakor woke up the cave he was in earlier that day and shot up like he was waking up from a nightmare. "NO!" He yelled as he clutched his chest and sat up. "Oh thank..." Black smoke billowed out from his muzzle as he coughed and it hit the wall breaking free some of the rock. "....no ...please just no!" Aakor scrambled to the wall to make sure he wasn't hallucinating... He wasn't. "S**t, I'm s***wed. I am so s***wed..."
-
Alright, planes come in soon.. gotta get the one that goes to.... *looks at folder* Denver.
Sotharc turned on the TV before leaving, but he watched the weather report.
''This weekend there is a major chance a hurricane will hit Florida. If it does not hit Florida, there will be heavy rain and high winds.''
Perfect, the planes might be delayed for half an hour. let me go visit some places before I depart.
visiting various stores & departments, Sotharc bought an XL Multi-purpose Backpack, spray paint, knives and rubber spray.
He coated his knives in a special aluminium oxide paint and he carried fake plastic knives so he could walk by.
Sotharc also got his permits so he could prove he could wield the blades. The rubber spray was for the bag, so the knives wont cut through during movement. It was also for the knives, that way the blades wouldn't cut anyone handling the bag.
''Next stop. The Airport.''
-
Alex looked around the room he was in before the one filled of crystal, nothing had changed, not even the time really. The wisp was no longer there, but he knew if that kid was telling the truth, he never left. He looks down at his necklace and holds it in his hand and sighs before letting it and rubbing his eyes "great, another thing to prevent me from focusing on anything" he says before going off to his couch and turning on the TV. He doesn't watch it a lot and fiddles with his fingers as he looks at the ceiling trying to clear his head, looking into his own empty thoughts.
-
Jacob returned home and instantly fired up his computer. "Now lets see what we can find." He mummbled to himself. It was a long shot, but he remembered the other shard holders description, and perhaps he coupd find them online.
-
Sephirs and Saphiras thoughts started to melt together until they thought as one. Their bodies were frozen in place as their minds worked together to figure out where to go from here and what to do. After what seemed to them as a minute, but in reality was sevaral hours, they had made up a plan.
"We travel now" Sephir said as he pulled away into his own mind. He drank up his now warm beer and got up.
Saphira didn't say anything, but she walked over to the door and opened it. They were always ready to leave, always carrying everything of value on them, which really wasn't much, only some money and the gem in the necklace around Saphiras neck.
Sephir called their landlord, since they had paid for everything in advance, there wasn't any problems besides the fact that he was grumpy about being awokened.
Together they walked out the door and flew off into the night towards south.
-
"h-hello? Saphira? Sephir? can you... hear me?" Vital called out through their gem, he decided to contact them first since their telepathy made them susceptible to other telepathic connections.
-
Saphira stopped surprised and hovered on the spot as she heard Vitals voice from the gem "V-Vital?" She whispered.
Sephir stopped shortly after Saphira when he realized she had stopped. *what is it sis?* he thought at her.
*I think I heard Vital from the gem* she answered.
*the weird kid?* he replied.
*yes, the young wolf from the gem* she thought and sighed at him in her thoughts as well.
-
Sotharc reached the Airport and waited for The plane to reach port.
"All flights to Denver, now boarding" The Airport intercom announced.
Sotharc went through the scanners and detectors, peacefully and smoothly, until the security stopped him.
"Hey, aren't you that guy who escaped from the Asylum?"
**What? No, I didn't escape from an asylum. I was let free by a court order and years of solitary isolation.**
"Well, we still need to check you, for any weapons or gadgets."
Sotharc huffed at his hair and it flipped under his breath as the guards searched him. Only to remove the plastic knives and nothing else.
"Ok, looks like you're clear to go." Just then he got stopped again "Wait! What atre you doing with these knives?!?"
**I'm a Big Game Hunter now. Look at my permits.** The guards look and set him free to his flight.
''Yes... now I can go meet my buddy Jacobs.'' A wry smile appeared on Sotharc's face under his hood.
''Looks like the hurricane didn't get here, but it was Delayed just long enough.''
As Sotharc exited the Port and walked towards the plane under the stormy weather. All he could hear was the Rain slamming into the concrete and the winds blowing his hair out of his face. Let alone the rain pelting down onto his leather hood.
Sotharc boarded the plain and was on his way to Denver.
-
"oh thank goodness it works... Siphira... do you mind if you transmit what i say to your brother please? only when i talk that is... if its alright!" Vital sneezed
-
"We are always linked, but wether he listens or not is not my choice" Saphira answered Vital. She looked at Sephir, he nodded in response *I'm listening* he thought at her.
"He is listening he says" she said towards the gem and let out a yawn.
They were both rather tired but they had decided to travel to a safe house.
-
"Okay... im about to do something crazy..." Vital gulped loud enough to be heard, "listen i want both of you to know to be careful... but you need to watch each other... if you cross another protector's path, be cautious, but also keep them safe as well. i sense malintent.. now for the crazy part.."
Vital reached out through their shard, he appeared before the twins crashing into a few things, a blanket covered him as he lay groaning on the floor, "ow ow ow"
-
((Umm... They are in mid-air..))
-
((oh gosh im sorryi thought yousaid you ere already at th safe house! just disregard that last part... hehe))
-
((If you edit you post, you can just tell them to land))
-
Jacob laid his head down on his keyboard, finding nothing. It was a long shot and it didnt work. He got up with a yawn and stretched, looking over at the clock that read 2:14 am. With a grimace he headed iff to bed.
-
Saphira caught Vital as he fell out of the shard. "hi there little one" she giggled.
Sephir looked very disturbed at the scene that had just unfolded before him. "that, is the weirdest thing i have ever seen, and I've seen a lot" he finally said.
((sorry about the shortness))
-
Vita noticed they werent on the ground as he shot from the shard and into Saphira's grasp, he shuffled in her arms and buried his face in her chest, "scary!" It was only then his features were actually defined, in he shard he was simply a being that gave everyone the perception of him being a small wolf child.
He wore golden anklets and a greek sash wrap, his fur a silvery blue color. His eyes were icy blue and hs tail was very small. On one ear he wore a piercing that attached itself in two places and were connected by a dangling chain the other had three gold loops. He wore what seemed to be Roman sandles which strapped themselves up to the mid section of his calves. His arms had golden armlets.
"Th-thanks for catching me...."
-
Saphira holds Vital tightly "of cause little one, couldn't let you fall now could I?" She smiles calmly at him and shields him from the wind from her wings and the height.
Sephir huffs *now we got a kid to take care of too?* he thinks at Saphira annoyed. "We don't have time to hover here, hope you like flying kid" he says and starts moving forward.
"He is right, so you will have to explain things to us as we fly on" Saphira says "now hold on tight" she makes sure she's got a good grip on him and then speeds up to follow her brother. "Good thing you aren't too heavy" she says smiling at Vital trying to make sure he doesn't freak out too much.
-
Vital nodded as they flew on, "im sorry i just wanted to be able to talk to you... and ive been in the Shard so long... it gets lonely..." he whimpered, "but anyway... there are two or three shard holders you must watch out for... they seem to want to use it for heir own malicious purposes."
-
Aakor was in a underground warehouse where he did most of his tweaking to his vehicles and made prototype weapons. "Right time to test this thing." He picked up his sniper rifle and with a shaky aim pointed it down range. "Please don't backfire..." Aakor then pulled the trigger and a long trail of thick black smoke hit the target and left it dissolving.
-
A hooded wolf looked up to see Saphira and her brother flying above her, smirking as she silently followed beneath them.
Her gear kept her concealed as she sprinted, a pair of daggers at her waist and a pistol in her pocket, she followed them.
And she wasn't stopping.
-
At that point a shadowy figure slowly appeared next to her with a large scythe in one hand and black drapes covering its body. "You should go..." It waved a skeletal hand in front of her and images of a forest in America flashed before her. "...here. You will have to convince the Wolger you will meet there to change his allegiance to our side."
-
((That to me, or someone else?))
-
(( yes it is directed at your character. ))
-
The wolf kept running, her attention turning to the figure. "And why's that?" she asked quietly as she turned her sight back upwards.
-
"Because he has the opposite to what they have." The figure pointed up at the gem on one of the twins. "With his help, should you persuade him, it would make things easier for yourself." It then swung its scythe in front of the wolf it was talking to taring a hole in the air and making a portal to where Aakor was and held it moving just ahead. "His name is Aakor. He doesn't fully understand what is going on and needs to be set on his destined path."
-
The wolf grunted. "Why could I not simply assassinate this pair?"
-
"Without the necessary equipment you won't be able to."
-
The wolf nodded as she skid to a sudden halt, her gear flowing slightly as it settled. "Fair point, I suppose. How would I convince him?"
-
"Make him lose control of his emotions. At that point I shall be able to take control over his mind." It the gestures to the portal.
-
The wolf sighed and nodded. "Jobs a job. But I want extra for this." Soon the wolf was wandering the new environment, searching for her target, taking in her surroundings, and sticking to the shadows.
-
"Other then a longer life there won't be much of a *payment* as you put it." After that the portal closed and stayed shut. "Soon... Soon vital I shall be back to strength." Then the figure disappeared into a plume of black smoke.
-
The mercenary wolf looked around, finally spotting her target from above, watching him carefully, and deciding to make herself known.
"Hey! I'm lookin' for someone called Aakor. You know him?" She spoke in a soft, calm tone, one that you would use with a close friend or young child.
-
Aakor looked up as he went past on his dirt bike and nearly fell off as he went over a jump. "Agh!" He jumped not expecting to see anyone in the forest he'd made his home for the last few years.
-
"I asked you a question!" the wolf yelled in a slightly enraged huff.
-
Aakor turned his bike around and stopped. Then he took off his helmet and panted as he spoke "sorry. I don't see many furs around here. In fact I've never seen another fur in this forest once. Why are you looking for him?"
-
The wolf smirked and took off her jacket, throwing it away carelessly, revealing a cyan tank top under it.
"I gotta talk ta him is why."
-
"Well... Allow me to lead the way to somewhere we can talk safely." He gestures to the seat on the back of his bike and put his helmet back on.
-
The wolf smirked, and grabbed her jacket. "I can run. Fast."
-
Aakor tilted his head and asked "faster then 150mph?"
-
The wolf paused. "Maybe not that fast. Anyway, I'm Taya."
-
"I'm Aakor. Now hop on. It's not the nicest of forests." He saluted taya and placed his paws on the bike grips.
-
Taya smiled, getting on the bike and tightly gripping it, to keep herself on board.
-
After a few minutes of zipping through the forest Aakor looked over his shoulder and asked "you afraid of heights? If so close your eyes!"
-
The wolf smirked and nodded, her eyes remained open, however.
-
Aakor did something with the handle bars and the bike shot forward at an alarming rate towards a cliff edge. "This is wear the fun begins!"
-
"Sure..." Taya replied doubtfully, calmly holding her seat in order to keep her grip.
-
As the bike went over the edge of the cliff Aakor leaned the bike to face down and towards a slight gap in the opposite facing cliff.
-
Taya didn't seem to mind that she was falling down the cliff. Yawning she asked "Where are we goin'?"
-
"An underground warehouse." The bike landed and wobbled a bit then regained its balance.
-
"Fair enough." Taya said calmly in reply.
-
After a few minutes the small gap opened up to a huge warehouse stretching out for miles. "Well this is home." Aakor stopped the bike and got off.
-
"Impressive." Taya commented.
-
"who are these people we need to watch out for?" Sephir asked Vital. He noticed someone on the ground seemed to try to follow them and thought at Saphira *we have a follower, if they don't give up soon we will have to speed up*
They were only flying at a nice and easy speed, good for traveling long distances, but which someone running fast might be able to keep up with.
Saphira nodded as a reply to Sephirs thoughts and then added *yes I see her too*.
Their follower suddenly seemed to slow down though, so they took a note of her appearence and let it be.
-
"Thanks. This way." Aakor went up a flight of stairs and opened a door to a flat or apartment like room.
-
Within a couple hours of landing, Sotharc soundly slept in his A-Class Seat.
In the dream, Sotharc was walking among shut down, run down, and abandoned buildings.
Some were even crumbling and falling apart.
"Heeello? ...Rngh, just empty." The wind blew against his face and revealed two scars on his face.
One on his lower jaw by his neck, and the other just above his right eyebrow.
Thunder crackled and laughed as the wind blew around the dust and debris.
Why am I here?... ''So-so-sotharc-c'' Who's there?! Come out now and I won't harm you!
A bubbled white shadow stepped out of the walls. It had Deep Blue Eyes with orange smoke floating from them.
Everytime it spoke, it echoed like a talking ghost and dark smoke exited it's mouth when it spoke.
What... are you? "Crystal, cat-catch it... Gem-gem... power-wer-er." Nngh, get out of here! GET OUT!!
Sotharc threw his blades at the figure, both phasing through it.
RRRRRGH!!! Stay away from me!!! Sotharc grabbed his head painfully.
The figure warped in front of him and stared into his eyes, speaking clearly.
"H-h-hunt-t, J-jacobs... K-Kill him-m-m.. t-t-take his gem.. and make me exist."
Sotharc woke up after his body droped limp. A loud beep came up and the captain spoke.
"Now landing, Denver Airstrip."
-
A few images of the forest Aakor was in flashed in front of sotharc's eyes with the same message playing over and over again in his ears "go to this place. Find the wolger and help the wolf that is currently with him." The voice practically shrieked into his ears.
-
Taya smirked as she examined the building, before turning to Aakor.
"Hey, have you ever heard of those life-gem-things?"
-
"Yup. Got one right here... And a... Well it's... I can't think of a better name for it other then death's gem. Anyway that one is kinda buried into my chest." Aakor pulls out a necklace with a shard of a white crystal on it.
-
The wolf's eyes suddenly sparkled with a unsettlingly dark presence. "Wow... Wait... Death's gem?"
-
"Yeah... Like the life gem but for some reason it makes ME hallucinate and see what I believe is the grim reaper... Oh and allows me to do this..." Aakor holds his hand out to the window and a thick black ball of smoke shoots out and the window just degrades and falls to nothing but dust.
-
Forest, a forest... I gotta go deep to find a forest. That face, it's mine.
Sotharc left the Airport with his knives and his good 44's.
I have no idea where a forest is... a map might help. or someONE!
-
The same figure that spoke to taya appeared in front of sotharc and stood still just staring at him.
-
"Hmm... Oh, this must be why my boss wanted me to talk to you. It's something about your destiny or something..."
-
Sotharc stared back amused more than angered.
I know you can't change colors, you were white last time I saw you... but no, no, no, no, you, you're different.
Why do you stand here, in front of me? What are you? I'll ask once only.
Sotharc stared waiting for something to happen. Hoping it will leave him.
-
"I have many names. All of which do not matter right now." Again like before it sliced a hole in the air and a portal to aakor's warehouse appeared before sotharc. "Go. Find him and break his good will. Kill him if nothing else works."
Just as Aakor was about to ask taya who she was employed by the portal appeared directly behind him and made him turn around.
-
Taya watched the portal, weary of it, she drew her two daggers, just in case.
-
Sotharc bounced back away from the swing, seeing the portal.
Hm, kill him if nothing works... Sotharc tossed the bag in first and followed behind.
*looking left and right* Jacobs! Today is your lucky day! Looks like you're bounty is suspended... for now.
Now... down to- RGH, Arghh- *Big Headache suddenly appeared* down... to business.
First off.. who are you two?
((ok, I was slightly confused, he's Jacobs.. and you're Aakor.))
-
Jacob woke with a start, quickly getting out of bed and getting dressed. Something didnt feel right. He couldnt shake the feeling that trouble was going to happen, and it was all becouse of this gem. He pulled his hoodie sleeve down over his arm before stepping outside.
-
Aakor stared in confusion as sotharc appeared through the portal and stumbled back. "Wha... How.... Uhh... How did you just?" After that he just collapsed and curled up while holding his head.
-
Taya sighed as she looked down at Aakor. "Pathetic..." She turned her attention to Sotharc. "Who are you?"
-
I asked you first. An answer would be more useful. Otherwise, my name isn't important. I'm here on business.
Sotharc looked at the female and noticed how she held the blades.
Now, let's put our weapons away, I surely don't mean any harm.
-
"I'm Taya..." the wolf stated wearily, holding her blades. "Also here for business."
-
Sotharc threw his coat back along with his 44's that were in plain view, under the coat.
See, No weapons.
I am Sotharc Verces, ah... wait. *moves hair out of eyes* ok, miss... Ah, Taya.
*sits down by Aakor's downed body*
-
Aakor was still holding his head and mumbling something as he wined.
-
"You almost knocked 'im cold. Takes a load of my back though, so I got nothin' to complain about." Taya commented as she examined Aakor. She sighed as she pulled out her pistol, aiming it at Sotharc's head. "Do I gotta shoot you too?"
-
Aakor swung his hand and a whip of smoke lashed out at taya. "Stop it!" He yelled as he stumbled to his feet and looked angrily at taya. "There's no need to kill anyone! Please... Just make it stop! I can't take it I've seen enough of conflicts in my life! I've had enough of pain, sorrow and misery!" Aakor then slumped to his knees as a cloud of smoke began to envelope him.
-
Taya sighed as she backed off. "I've had enough of this bloody job... Choose your path now, Aakor. Your choice could affect the world as a whole. But be warned..." Taya paused as she aimed her firearm. "I've chosen my path, the path that pays, and I will not hesitate to fight you."
-
Sotharc sarcastically looked behing him, and pointed at himself.
Me? Nah... don't be so jumpy either. Nothing's happened yet.
He's right, i'd hate to fight someone... Im in my GOOD mood right now.
-
"Go on... Do it... Shoot me! See what happens! See just what these two damn shards have done to my body!" He stood up again and walked up to taya and pulled the barrel of her pistol up to his forehead. "You think I have already tried to end myself? ...think about how big this warehouse is and just how many things are in here. Do you honestly think I have all of that stuff just for s**ts and giggles? All of that equipment out there is stuff I've tried... Non of it works." By now Aakor was crying and practically begging taya to kill him.
-
Taya sighed, dropping the weapon. "I... Can't... I quit, money ain't worth this... "
Taya looked at herself and collapsed to the floor, tears in her eyes.
"What have I done... I've become a monster..."
Then she sobbed in silence, covering her face shamefully as her emotions finally slipped through, unmasking the mercenary's false identity.
-
Aakor then turned to sotharc and glared at him as he walked closer.
-
Vita felt it.. an energy dangerously close to Aakor... Vital's eyes turned completely black, his breathing quickened. "Be gone!" he reched out and activated Aakor's shard
-
Something you want Aakor? *stares questionably*
ohhh... I haven't heard a cry in a long time. Didn't know they sounded so... sad.
I prefer screams, hehehe... *looks at Taya quickly* Now now wolger.. no need to cry. You're alive, he's alive.
I see nothing wrong here... but I am becoming a bit irritated.
*punches into the earth and stomps* We've made NO progress! I mean I, have made no progress. Stupid voice.
-
Taya kept crying as she silently thought through her past. Then one particular memory struck her.
-
Aakor stopped in place as his life shard light up and stumbled back. As the light spread out the smoke dissipated and he shook his head. "Ugh... I think I'm going to... P-pass out...." Then he collapsed again and banged his head against a work surface.
-
Taya looked up as a feeling of pure shock and terror overcame her, an old legend from her village on her lips, but unable to be heard.
-
Sotharc stepped away from Aakor briefly before dragging him into the warehouse onto something comfortable.
See, this is what I get for being insane. Thank You for this torture, Life.
Sotharc walked back to Taya and tried to get her inside.
Taya, uh, are you gonna be ok.. you want me to walk with you or something?....maybe you should come inside the building.
It's um, warmer inside.
-
Taya looked up, her eyes filled with terror, she was shaking as if she was about to freeze, and crying as if she just lost a relative.
-
"What's wrong Vital?" Saphira asked as he shouted and his eyes turned black and breathing quickened "Sephir stop!" She shouted and stopped.
Sephir stopped quickly "what's the matter?" He turned around to see the wired way Vital acted "is he having a seizure or something?" He asked concerned.
"I'm not sure, he started acting weird and said "be gone". Could he be reaching out to one of the others or something? I've never heard of a seizure like this" Saphira replied and looked concerned down at Vital. Her mothering-instincts stepped in as she held him tight and swayed him slowly from side to side. "Vital, can you hear me? Are you okay?" She whispered to him.
-
"I-It's... a protector..... he has a choice to make.... and im afraid... i might lose him.... his shard is somewhat tainted with a dark energy... and im scared i cant cleanse it.... i dont know what to do" his eyes still black teared up, "Aakor fight... please fight"
-
Taya finally stood up, getting shakily to her pawed feet. "Get away from him!" she yelled as she suddenly opened fire apon Sotharc. "He can't choose our path!"
-
"Oh thank god you're alright then!" Saphira said and kissed his forehead. "You had me so worried there!" She kissed his forehead again "I'm sure you can fight it little one, just do your very best!".
"If he's alright we have to keep moving" Sephir said and started moving forward again.
"Yes" Saphira simply replied and followed him, she never took her eyes off of Vital.
-
Aakor was still out cold but in a dream state. This made it easier for the grim reaper and vital to contact him or toy with him.
"Oh s**t!" He yelp in his dream as he was being chased by something that was only moving through the shadows. "VITAL! Help!" Aakor shouted at the top of his lungs.
-
Vital closed his eyes and went into stasis... although it only looked as if he fell asleep.
He travelled quickly and appeared before Aakor and took his hand, "im here"
-
Sotharc took a bullet from Taya's frenzy and rolled to the side of Taya's arm and pushing it upwards.
You're freaking lucky I have armor on... *he gritted his teeth as he wrestled against Taya's arm*
AND... *his one eye dilates and stares into Taya* lucky that I don't have my knives.
Twisting her arm and kneeing the muscle controlling her grip, twice for good measure.
I have MY path, he isn't involved....
Sotharc flipped his hair and his eye returned to normal.
Please get a grip and stay away from him if you're that scared.
Besides, i'd hate to see you get hurt already. *a sly smile spread over Sotharc's face with a quick giggle*
-
Taya looked at Sotharc, staring at him with terror in her eyes. "That path will kill us all!"
-
"Vital..." Aakor collapsed to the floor in his dream after his legs gave way. "...I don't want to become..." He looked back at the rapidly approaching figure and pointed at it. "...I don't want to become that. Please help me. I don't know what to do!" He added as his voice began to tremble in fear of what he might become.
-
What do you want me to do? Im not good at talking! I was shoved into an Asylum because I knew my police team would die soon.
I just ended up killing like.. half the force, the other half died from the job or disease, like I predicted.
Look, I see Death.. when I look hard enough, I can see it's grimy bones following behind innocent souls.
It watches me, but I hold strong, ignoring it's voice... until my last breath.
I saw a cold hurting killer in your pretty eyes.. and now you're scared, because you see It's Right Hand!
But back to my earlier point, he has to fight... or succumb. You and me though, we can do our own business.
There are still more targets out there... unless you feel a change of heart?
Sotharc lets go of Taya and quickly walks to Aakor's body.
Aakor.. if you can hear me! Choose for yourself! You can wield power and still be yourself! Or just wield the power and protect yourself!! Choose Aakor! Fight for it!!
Sotharc ran back to Taya waiting for her to respond in any way.
-
Taya sighed at the lecture and finally spoke her mind.
"There is an old legend that sings it's tale, of life and death trapped in gems.
One will choose infront of two others, and he alone will seal our fates.
He will steal your zeal, save your soul and heal the world, or ha will fall to the darkness within and we will succumb to his fury and sin..." Taya stopped suddenly with a quivering lip. "And a young wolven rogue will slay another important soul, sending her to damnation...
I'm scared it's all true, and the rogue is me..."
-
Jacob walked along the street, peering up at the sun as it peeked through the skyscrapers. He stopped outside a cafe and sat down at a table, pulling up his sleeve to look at the gem. "Hey Vital, can you hear me? I eh want to talk to you." He wasnt sure how to summon the young wolf, but watched the gem and waited.
-
So this legend... it's true. Well that's bad for me.. I was simply looking for the gems, to rid this... insanity, from my mind.
If that's the case, then we should help him. just follow me and don't let go of my paw. I just need to touch that crystal.
Sotharc motioned towards the warehouse, where Aakor's body lies.
-
Taya silently nodded, holding Sotharc's paw like she was a child again.
-
Holding Taya's paw, Sotharc walked over to Aakor's body and attempted to make himself grab hold of the Life Shard.
just have to... to... touch it! Rrrrrgh, it's pushing me..
don't forget Taya, hold on tight, I will get inside of there...
Sotharc's body slowly started freezing and jerking as he forced himself nearer and nearer to the Shard.
It's power is amazing, BUT!!! *Grips onto the Shard* I HAVE IT!!!- RRAAAGHK!! NNHHRRR...
Loud cat yells and cries erupt from Sotharc as he snaps into insanity. His hair grows longer and has a dark aura.
*Becoming blind to the real world and only seeing the white world, Sotharc enters the crystal*
I... have it, *panting* Now Taya.. stay here.. I just swapped places with my sanity... we should both be in the crystal now.
There Taya, there's Aakor... *pointing at the body, a bit exhausted* ungh.. one second.
-
Vital hugged Aakor and pressed his forehead against the wolfger's, "Aakor, you must listen carefully, listen to the trees, listen to the wind, life is all around you. Use its energy, listen to your own heartbeat now, feel your pulse as it pumps your blood. Concentrate Aakor... You have all you need... face it.... please fight... fight for life..." with a small burst of light Vital disappeared leaving a temporary barrier of light. "Aakor you are not weak... you are so strong... please... stay strong... stay safe... stay alive"
Vital then transferred to Jacob's shard, he flew out of the shard and landed on the ground a few feet away with a small yelp. He created a copy of himself, "Y-you needed me?" he groaned and rubbed his snout where he landed
-
Jacob stared for a moment, surprised that it worked. He went over and helped Vital up. "You ok?" The grayfox looked around, not sure if anybody else could see the wolf child. "Sorry, I didnt know that would happen if I called. But eh, I wanted to see if you coupd help me find the other shard holders."
-
Vital looked up at Jacob and nodded, "i cant tell you exactly where they are... but i can tell you how close you are to another one... if the are nearby..."
As he spoke a fur walked right through him, he dispersed in a puff of smoke then reformed as they walked away.
-
"I think we better speed up bro, now he seems to be sleeping. I would like to place him somewhere more comfortable that this" Saphira said and overhauled her brother.
*fine* Sephir replied in his thoughts and speeded up.
They were now flying over Berlin at a speed of around 70 mph. Saphira tried to shelter Vital from the wind as much as possible.
-
Even in the crystal Aakor seemed to be out cold and on the floor. He was mumbling something.
-
Vital shivered in Saphira's arms,
He had redirected the two intruders into the Re Collection and peeked his head from behind a pillar like before.
"W-what are you wo doing h-here?"
-
Sotharc looks around before realizing he wasn't in Aakor's Crystal anymore.
DAH!!... I am here with this girl.. to maybe help Aakor.. she says there' a legend which she'll kill me and Aakor damns us all.
I am still just looking for my target... *Irritated huff* I can't believe im being slowed down.
Sotharc's shadow split from him and stood beside him.
"You have time anyways, no one else will kill him besides you."
Leave me alone! You stupid shadow!
-
Meanwhile further up the road from where Saphira, Sephir, and Vital currently were, there stood a motel of decent condition called Morty's Motel. Inside the motel at the front desk, an eevee was fiddling with a knife looking bored as ever. His name was Lennox, he was both the door man and security of Morty's Motel. While he was good at both jobs, he wasn't happy. His boss was jerk, his pay was minimal at best, and he knew his skills would probably better used somewhere else. It wasn't all bad though, there were no "official" uniforms except a name tag. That's is kind of a plus. What really got to him was the fact that nothing happened around this area. He just wanted something to happen, a fight, anything really.
-
Vital shuffled behind the pillar and cleared his throat a bit, "e-excuse me?" he tried getting Sotharc's attention, "w-what are you doing h-here?"
Vital softly murred in Saphira's arms then shivered slightly
-
*Looks around until he spots the kid* Hm? Hi little child. I am here to help Aakor.
If he loses his willpower, I die with THIS girl over here.. which im not wanting to happen. Nor will it happen anytime soon.
*Sotharc brushed the fur on his face backwards, revealing a soft looking, smooth jawed leopard. No scars visible yet.*
His shadow returned to his body but Sotharc felt where his first scar will be, on his eyebrow
Now, what happens if Aakor say.. lost his gem or willpower. What type of terror are we talking about here?
-
Vital retreated back behind the pillar then could be seen peeking from behind another pillar, he looked to the girl and widened his eyes a bit, he slowly walked out the dashed to her hugging her tight, "m-momma..." he stopped for a moment and said, "separation of protector and crystal means the crystals power will separate from them slowly until its gone... causing all wounds the shard healed to return...."
-
Taya looked down in confusion. "What?"
-
"Sephir we have to stop!" Saphira said worried as Vital shivered.
*fine but if this brat causes our arrest or worse I'mma eat him for lunch* Sephir thought at her accompanied with a funny mental picture of a cooked Vital with an apple in his mouth like a pig.
Saphira couldn't help but giggle even though she were rather offended of his humor.
They descended and landed in an ally to be as unnoticed as possible.
They walked a couple of streets until they found a small motel that seemed anonymous enough.
When they walked in the door an eevee who seemed rather bored was the only person in sight.
"We need a room with three single beds. Something you can handle?" Sephir asked as he walked towards the eevee. Saphira, who was still holding Vital close in her arms, walked in behind Sephir.
*he's cute* Saphira thought to herself as she took notice of the eevee, but she thought it a little louder than intended.
Sephir turned his head around with a raised eyebrow as he couldn't help but hear her thought. *I don't think it's the time for fooling around sis* he thought at her teasingly.
She growled lowly *stay out of my thoughts!* she thought back at him and huffed.
*how can I not hear your thoughts when you practically yelled it at me?* he replied. He had turned his head around again so the eevee wouldn't notice that something "weird" was going on.
((Just to point it out the entire conversation between Saphira and Sephir happens telepathically so Lennox will only be able to see and hear what is not in **))
-
Lennox jumped a little, he wasn't expecting any new tenents tonight. He fumbled with his knife but managed to put it away quickly. If his boss saw him with his knife out while working, he would be in deep trouble.
"Sorry about that. I think we have one bedroom left, not with three seperate beds though. Your actually lucky it has two..." His voice trailed off. He sensed the pressence of magic. He noticed it was coming from the wolgons. A tiny bit of healing, but something else, something powerful. He realized he had been thinking for a while and the wolfgons were still waiting.
"Sorry about that but it appears that if you wish to stay here you must agree to one rule. No magic."
-
Jacob watched as Vital disappeared before him. "Wait! Where do I start looking!" But it was to late. The fox let out a sigh and sat down, hoping Vital would come back.
-
Sephir's eyes narrowed 'do he know we have magic?' He thought to himself worried. "Don't worry bro, we don't do magic" he lied and gave a relaxed smile.
*what is the matter Seph?* Saphira thought at him, she could feel he was worried.
Sephir didn't reply directly but allowed her to follow his thoughts.
*I see* Saphira thought at him when she were done looking through his thoughts, *do you think he know something he shouldn't? Maybe he is just capable of sensing it, doormen tend to be hired with that ability. Do you think he can sense Vital? Should we find another hotel?*
Sephir stopped her before her thoughts got too out of hand *relax sis I think it's fine but be aware, just in case. We have run from worse than this guy.*
Sephir looked at the eevee and realized they must have been standing there for a minute or so without saying anything or moving. "Sorry, um it's fine just give us what you got. Can you manage an extra mattress on the floor then?" He asked and tried to act like nothing had happened. He noticed a name tag on him "mr.. Lennox." He added and smiled.
-
Lennox knew that somehow they were communicating based on long they were standing there. Telepathy spell, no he would have sensed it. "*sigh* We have extra mattresses in the back, i will bring one up as soon as possible." He opened one the key boxes and pulled out a key to room #20. "Here is the key to your room, you will have to pay when ever you leave. If you don't pay, you'll have to deal with me. I may be the door man, but i' m also security." He put the key on the counter and cracked his knuckels, which now radiated with red energy. "Your room is upstairs and to the right, have a nice day." He turned around and walked to the back room to get the mattress
-
As he entered the back room a low growl or hissing could be heard from a pitch black corner of the room.
-
At first Lennox thought nothing of it, racoons tended to get into the supplies all the time, and they were friends with Dave, one of his co-workers who kept an eye on the supplies. He's lucky you have ratted him out "Dave get your little friends out the supplies...Dave?" He paused, there was a new pressence in the room and it wasn't Dave. It felt cruel and evil and it was coming from the corner. He activated his magic to see what was in the darkness...what he saw was horrifying. A horrible beast, made entirely out of shadow was standing over the corpse of Dave, feeding off his life energy. It looked up and caught sight of the Lennox, and that moment, Lennox knew he needed back up. "**censor**!" Lennox ran into the lobby, not even bothering to close the door, to where Saphira and Sephir were holding Vital.
"You have to go!" Lennox yelled in panic.
-
The wraith came bouldering out a shadow and ramming straight into the side of Lennox.
-
"Aaah!" Lennox cried out as he was flung across the lobby. He crashed into a potted plant against the far wall which shattered on as he landed on it. Now he was pissed off. "My boss will kill me before you do you bastard!" Lennox yelled. The shadow cackled at his remark. Lennox had a feeling there was no escaping this thing, and if he did nothing it would kill him, and everyone in the building. He had to fight it. His whole body began to radiate with red energy as he stood up. He adopted a fighting stance and stared down the shadow. "You want me, come and get me."
-
The wraith shifted into a feral copy of Aakor with black smoke coming off of it and it's eyes red with blood lust. Then it's sized changed to a larger form. It's back hight nearly 6ft from the ground and everything else in proportion to it. It's growling stopped as it howled then charged at Lennox with explosive speed and closed in on him in mere milliseconds before pouncing on him.
-
Vital yelped in Sephira's arms and shivered violently, "h-he's. here..."
Vital reappeared before Jacob and brushed himself off, "I-im sorry about that... i cant afect anyone but the protectors or those involved..."
Vital pt holding onto Kaya tightly and nuzzled her belly, "i missed you momma"
-
With lightning reflexes, he managed to grab the shadow beast by its open mouth to keep it from biting his head off. However the momentum of the charge still sent both of them crashing through the wall and out into the parking lot. Lennox continued to hold his stance even as he was being bullrushed, and stopped several yards away from the hotel. The shadow thrashed in Lennox's hands trying to pin him down. Lennox, with all his might, pushed the thing off him and it staggered back. He pulled out his knife, charged it with magic, and then before the shadow could regain balance, he shoved his knife under its jaw and pulled back. The knife cut through its jaw like butter, making it split in two. The shadow screamed in pain but it was far from dead.
-
Sephir and Saphira had run out the front door and taken flight. Saphira headed towards Luxembourg with Vital as fast as she could, but Sephir had stayed to make sure she wasn't followed.
When Lennox and the wraith banged out into the parking lot, Sephir saw his change to help. He flew high up into the sky and then dived as fast as possible towards the wraith. He slammed into it holding onto it with his claws and bit down as hard as possible, injecting his poison even though he wasn't sure it would have any effect on this monster. The wraith grabbed him and threw him into a car.
Saphira flew as fast as she could but when she had left Berlin she had to stop and rest. She landed in an ally and whispered to Vital "Vital I can't fly any longer, please wake up." She fell to her knees from exhaustion. She gently put down Vital and laid next to him. As soon as her head rested on the concrete she fell asleep, her arm and tail holding around Vital.
Sephir shook his head as his vision returned "that hurt, what is that monster anyway?" He said as he swayed, trying to get back on his feet. He noticed that his bite seemed to have had no effect on it, 'perfect my best weapon doesn't work' he thought.
-
As the wraith got up it ran straight for Sephir and staggered as it passed a light and shook it's head causing it to narrowly miss him by mere centimetres.
-
Sephir grabbed the wraith by its tail and swung it around. As he had noticed it didn't like the light he thought quickly and threw it towards a light pole, it was a heavy beast though and Sephir's aim was still a bit blurry from the hit so he ended up throwing it straight towards Lennox instead.
-
(( just as an FYI it's taken a larger form of Aakor's feral form which is the same weight as a fully grown tiger. They weigh 30 stone O.o ))
As it flew through the air towards Lennox it disappeared into a shadow carrying it's momentum with it. It leaped out of a shadow behind Sephir and dug it's claws into his back as, as it pushed him to the ground.
-
Vital opened his eyes sleepily and let out a small whine as he yawned, he looked to Saphira and tilted his head, "s-saphira? whats wrong?" he reached up and placed his hand on her shard, he slowly regenerated Saphira's strength
-
((My fursona/chars are half dragon. Dragons are very strong ;) ))
Sephir fell to ground with the wraith on top of him. He whipped the wraith as hard as he could with his long tail, it made it loosen its grip enough for him to turn around and fight. He tried to pull it off by twirling his tail around its right hind leg and pulling while pushing with both his arms and legs and making sure not to get bit by the fighting wraith.
Saphira woke up and looked at Vital "hmmm hi Vital, you're awake" she mumbled and closed her eyes again.
-
The wraith fell onto its side and landed next to Sephir with a loud thud as the pavement cracked underneath it's weight.
-
Lennox noticed the shadows belly was completely exposed now. "Quick attack!" He charged straight past the beast while also stabbing with his knife. The shadow's belly was cut clean open. Lennox stopped a feet away ready to the do same thing again. "Quick attack!" He charged again.
-
Before Lennox could turn around the wraith had disappeared into thin air leaving a trail of black muck on the pavement. The trail lead straight to one of the rooms some people were staying in.
-
"No..." A sence of dread spread throughout Lennox. He had seen how it had killed Dave, and he wouldn't let that happen again. "Agility!" He began to run in place going faster and faster."Agility! Agility! Agility!" As Lennox spammed his ability, his movements became faster then the eye could see. "Finally, quick attack!" In the blink of an eye, he was gone. The shadow was hovering over a mother cat and her child, ready to kill, when loud crash sounded from the window. Something had slammed into its side and he felt a stabbing pain as he was propelled through the wall into well lit hallway. The light burned the shadow and it was forced into a more physical form. It tried to escape, but more pain was starting to be felt almost all over its body. Then it caught a glimpse of what was hurting it. Lennox was running circles around the shadow, punching, kicking and stabbing with all his might.
The mother had woken up and seeing the horrible monster and the blur of red, she scooped up her child and ran for the exit. The shadow tried to get them as they ran past but got stabbed in the face by Lennox. It was in deep trouble it couldn't catch the attacker, it couldn't escape and it was in the light. It felt its body begin to fall apart as Lennox continued his offensive.
-
It eventually realised that Lennox was simply running around it in circles and stuck a paw out as it changed the digits on said paw to long serrated blades and cut into his abdomen as he ran past.
-
Lennox saw this and tried to dodge but it managed to scrape his side. Blood began to coat his left side but Lennox couldn't stop now, he could feel he was reaching his limit. He stopped right in front of the beast and jumped on its head. The shadow tried to shake him off, but Lennox held on tight. Then as quickly as he could he stabbed his knife into its head and stabbed over and over and over again as fast as he could while his speed was still increased.
-
"Vital, if youre there, please! Tell me where to look! For all I know these people could be halfway across the world!" Jacob stared down at his arm again, gritting his teeth anxiously.
-
Vital jumped a bit from Jacob he then lowered his ears and floated up to meet his face, he placed a paw on Jacob's cheek and let images of the other protecters enter his mind, showing him where they were. "Thats as far as i can push the rules... im sorry"
-
As Lennox kept stabbing at the wraiths head more and more black muck fell to the floor and sprayed on the walls like someone was spraying the walls with flicks of a tar covered stick and leaving a trail of mess behind them. The shadow wraith slumped into a wall and collapsed as it turned to a puddle of the liquid it had been spilling like blood.
-
As the shadow died Lennox felt triumphant, but then he felt the tole of his magic as it began to disapate. His wound was bad and now he was covered in black blood. The blood began to get mixed into his wound making the pain worse. He tried to stand up but fell back to ground and knocked himself out.
-
As he slept the grim managed to infiltrate his dreams and turn it into a nightmare.
-
Sephir flew in through the window and found Lennox unconscious but alive and the wraith nowhere to be found. He walked to Lennox and picked him up. He placed him on a bed in the room from which he had flown in through the window. *saphira are you there?* he reached out to his sister, it was her who knew how to treat stuff like this and he was sure she would like to know he was still alive as well. The mind he reached however were sleepy and fuzzy. *SIS WHAT HAPPENED? ARE YOU OKAY?* he thought towards her as loud and clear as possible.
Saphira opened her eyes again as she started to feel less tired. She sat up and hugged Vital "thank you little one, I feel better now" she said and smiled. She noticed her brother poking at her mind followed by what could best be described as being yelled at from a very close distance. She frowned and quickly answered him *I'm okay brother. Just... Tired..* He then send her a picture of the fainted eevee and she walked him trough how to tend to both of their wounds.
-
In his nightmare, Lennox remebered a day that he had been trying to forget for a long time. It was when he was only 7 years old, he was asleep in his room when he heard a rustling in his closet. He got out of bed to go check, but before he could open it, it opened on its own. From the closet, stepped a man, he looked like a Wolger. "Hello little brat. I've been told you will be a problem for me in the future, so it is best i deal with you now." The Wolger then grabbed Lennox by the throat and proceeded to choke him. Lennox struggled and kicked trying to get this man off him, but he was too weak. As the man continued to choke the life out of him began to struggle less and less. "Lennox what are you doing up still...?" He faintly heard his mom's voice, who was an Umbreon, from outside as she opened the door to come in. "*gasp* Let go of my baby!" His mom cried as she punched the Wolger right in the face with a blue energied fist. He dropped Lennox and was forced back into the wall. Lennox coughed as he tried to regain his breath while his mother picked him up in her arms and ran out the room. The Wolger tried to chase after them but was punched again by Lennox's father, who was a Flareon. Lennox looked over his mom's shoulder and saw his dad glowing with red energy as he punched the Wolger two good times. Then the Wolger punched him once then grabbed his head and twisted his neck. "DAD!" Lennox cried as he watched his dad slump to the floor and the Wolger smile like a mad man as he came after him and his mom. "Lennox don't look back!" His mom said in between the tears. "But we have to help dad!" Lennox said as he saw a fire begin behind the the man that was persuing them. "I said don't look back!" They ran out into the rain and into the forest that surround their house. Lennox saw the house become engulfed in flame, with the rain doing nothing to stop it. The man stepped out of the front door and continued the chase. Lennox's mom set Lennox down on the ground and took off her soothe bell collar. "Lennox i want you to take this and run! The road isn't to far frorm here and remeber to use your agility and magic." She put the soothe bell around his neck and pointed in the direction of the road. "But what about you?" Lennox said tears streaming down his cheeks. His mom put her hand on his shoulder and kissed his forhead. "I'll be there soon, i just have to teach a bad man a lesson. Now go and when you look at that collar...rember us... and don't look back." she stood up and turned to face the Wolger, who was only a few feet away by now, and let her magic flow throughout her body. Lennox glowed with red energy. "Agility!" He ran straight for the road, but couldn't help but take one last look at mom. She punched at the man again and again but he kept dodging. He grabbed her arm as she punched one more time and used the momentum to force her to the ground. As they began to fade in the distance from the rain, Lennox still saw him stomp on his mother's neck repeatedly. "MOMMY!!!"
"M-mom..." Lennox murmered in the waking world, tears beginning to run down his cheeks.
-
Aakor woke up startled from a nightmare he thought he'd long forgotten and yelled at the top of his lungs making it heard for miles and miles making birds flock and flee to the air "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" His voice trembling from fear and anger. The nightmare was of when he first lost control to the death shard... It was when he brutally murdered a father and mother in a forest. All he could do was scream and shout as he watched in horror.
-
Lennox woke with a start. He thought he heard someone screaming but all was quiet. His face felt slightly wet from tears, he had apparently cried in his sleep. He looked around and noticed he was in one of the hotel rooms. There was a hole in the wall where the door should be and a large black puddle on the floor. His knife was on the nightstand, covered in the same black stuff. It all came back to him, Dave, the fight, and the shadow...the shadow. Its face looked so familiar...like the Wolger that...killed his parents. He held his collar tight as he cried a little bit more. He did this for a few minutes till he rembered the new tenets who had helped him in the fight against the shadow. He dried his eyes, cleaned his knife in the bathroom sink and after looking for his hoody and shirt for little while to no evail, he went to find these tenets. He needed to thank them for patching him up after the fight.
-
Aakor was in his warehouse looking for something. Mumbling and occasionally swearing rather loudly.
"Where the b***dy hell is it!" He yelled as he fell to the floor in pain from a headache. "I... Will... Not... Give... In!" Aakor shouted as images of the fight between Lennox and the shadow wraith flashed before his eyes with the grim saying the same thing over and over. "Remember him. It's Lennox. The boy of the father and mother you killed years ago." Then a demonic laughter as Aakor got to his feet and yelled at what he thought was the grim "NOOOO THAT WAS YOU NOT ME!" His voice echoing throughout the warehouse. "...I could never do such a thing." He lashed out with his claws and cut one of the frames of the shelves making it collapse and reveal what he was looking for to be hiding underneath it. "......well. That happened." He said as his mood snapped in an instant from angry to happy.
A few hours later he was in the apartment he'd made inside the warehouse and fiddling with a box of some sort. "Time for the moment of truth. Please don't go boom..." Aakor pleaded as he placed the life shard into the box and winced as he turned it on. "...it. It... WORKS!!! Haha!" Aakor then leapt out of his chair and placed it into a backpack and put it on. "Right... Time to put this thing in better paws then mine." He thought to himself as he got onto his bike and road out towards the motel he saw in the images of the fight. "This Lennox kid needs something to amplify his abilities. Even if that puts me at risk of losing control." He sighed as tears started to run then continued. "Vital if you can hear me... I'm sorry but he'll need my shard more then anything if I do lose the will to fight reaper. Please have faith in him as you have me. He'll need the support..."
Soon after he arrived at the motel with his bike helmet on to hide his face. Aakor took the bag off once he climbed up to the roof and waited for Lennox to come into his line of sight.
-
Lennox was having trouble finding the tenets. He remebered that that two of them could fly and could have very well have left already. If he went to the roof he could catch a glimpse of them before they left. He went up the stairs and used his key that he had as an employ to open the door to get to the roof. On the roof, he didn't see any sign of the Wolgons or that kid in the toga that slept through the whole fight. What he did see was a someone wearing a red biker helmet and black t-shirt with tribal print, who appeared to be looking right at him. Lennox noticed he was armed, judging by the pistol holster at his side, and he slowly reached for his knife. "Who are you? Your not supposed to be up here." Lennox observed his surrounding to make sure there was no else here and noticed the backpack on the ground. Something inside it radiated with similar magic to the one he had felt from the new tenets. Somehow it felt different though, he couldn't quite explain it. "What's in the bag?" He tried to see through the visor but something was blocking his sight.
-
Aakor took the pistol out of its holster and placed it on the rooftop. Then picked up the bag and walked closer to Lennox not saying a word. Both of his paws were held up in a similar way to someone would if they were being held at gun point.
"Inside this bag is something that you will come to rely on with your life and have to protect with it." Aakor said in a muffled and deep tone of voice.
-
When Lennox saw him drop his gun and relaxed a little. "What is it? I can feel the power radiating from it." As he tried to identify the school of magic, nothing came to mind. He wasn't even sure if it was magic. Then he felt a familiar presence from this man and tried to focus on that as he got closer.
-
Aakor could tell what Lennox was doing and stopped still as he put the bag down and kicked it across to Lennox. "You will need it to aid you in battles to come. That is what I can tell you." Aakor winced as he kicked it away and clutched his chest as he stumbled back and turned around and headed for a patch of darkness.
-
"Wait!" Lennox tried to catch him but as soon as he touched the shadows he disappeared. Lennox didn't have time to finish annalysing him. He turned his attention to backpack. Whatever was in there was powerful. He considered the possibility of a trap, but then why would that guy say i must protect it. His curiosity got the better of him and he went to open the bag. From the bag he pulled out a strange looking necklace with a gem in it. As he dangled it in front of him, the power that it radiated began to feel warm and welcoming. He couldn't help but feel what was obviously the source. Once he touched the gem, a new feeling washed over him, a feeling of strength. It spread through out his body, making him feel stronger. A voice...a voice he could never forget sounded in his head."This gem once belonged to me...and now it is yours. Take good care of it. Before i leave i have one thing to say. I'm sorry..." Lennox turned to where he thought the voice was coming from and he saw a fading vision of the Wolger who taken everything from him. "You...YOOOOUUUUU!!!!" As Lennox screamed, the gem turned a bright red and red energy formed around him until it engulfed him entirely. It continued to spread until the whole roof looked like it was on fire. After a minute of spreading, all of it receded back Lennnox and a beam of red light shot into sky. A feeling of anger could felt by all protectors as a new gem holder joined their ranks.
-
Aakor watched from a distance and started to cry as he realised that Lennox hadn't repressed the memory of what happened that night and was reminded of the pain he'd let happen. "I am sorry... Lennox..." He sighed and put his helmet on then rode off back to the forest he'd came from.
-
It took a while before Lennox calmed himself down, the energy surrounding him disappated, and he put the necklace around his neck. Finally after all these years, he actually knows who had killed his parents. His name was Aakor, and the neckalace he was now wearing was apparently his, he could feel it. As much as he wanted to throw it off the roof and never see it again, something told him that would be the worst descion of his life. Somehow the thing was now bonded to his soul and he didn't want to know what would happen if he lost it. He needed to find the tenets...they might now what this thing is. Plus it was cold outside and he still didn't have either his hoody or shirt. He assumed tenets took i them off to heal him.
-
Jacob shook his head as the visions cleared, thinking over what he just saw. There were two... wolfdragons? One in a fight, another laying in an ally. The fox knew he had to help and recognized the buildings around them, cursing for opening his big mouth. They were in Germany. Where though, he still had to figure out.
"Better go get my stuff..." He mummbled. He went home and grabbed as much money as he could, then headed to the airport.
-
Sotharc was forced out of the Crystal once Aakor awoke. He then ran outside the warehouse rolled over his straight-jacket and put it back on.
"I have a job to do... and NOTHING will stop me this time."
Sotharc's shadow became white with Dark Orange eyes and it spoke to him.
>About time you accepted me and started your mission.<
"Shut up. I just haven't made progress, that's all. Now, if you would... Stay.. where you. Belong."
The White Shadow receeded back into Sotharc with a ghastly soul-like echo.
"Now, I think I need a quick reintroduction to my targets."
Sotharc began walking towards the nearest city in his Deep Blue straight-jacket, Brown chap n jeans, and his weapons.
His two Revolvers hid under his jacket in pockets, while his Nightblades were strapped against his forearms sleeves, colored Dark Blue to blend in. Sotharc had more blades but they were smaller and meant for small, weak prey.
After his leave of the asylum, he actually did hunt big game for a living. He stopped after getting jailed for illegal poaching.
Sotharc's hair calmy sat over his face as he walked towards the city, only his Deep Bluish Red eyes showing. (Not quite purple)
He looked as calm and as normal on the street. The only thing making him stick out was the numerous silver rings on his Straight Jacket. and the jacket itself.
-
Vital somehow fealt different energies. Aakor, "i will try my best aakor please try your best"
the different energy was similar to the intruders earlier, Vital reached out to it, "h-hello?" Vital's voice echoed outinto Sotharc's mind

The flight was long, but sleeping can work wonders. Jacob got off the plane, staring out at the Berlin skyline, thoughts clouding his head. It was a big city.
"Where to look where to look." He mummbled to himself. In his vision he remember seeing the name ofsome sort of hotel and called a cab to go to it.
-
Hm? Who's there? He said, stil walking but not trying to atract ettention by speaking out oud.
-
"umm it seems that you have a sort of connection to... the shards.. whats your name?"
-
"Mmmmm, my name is Sotharc... Why are you in my head?! More important, who are you and why are you in my head..."
Sotharc stopped at a bakery and ordered a large, sweet, cakey muffin along with a soda.
-
Saphira and Sephir were walking back towards the motel. Sephir were carrying Vital on his back and Saphira were holding two paper bags filled with goodies from the nearest baker. They were smiling and chatting as they walked in through the front door.
-
By now Aakor was back in the forest near his warehouse and was slowly losing control to the grim. "You do know that I'm not going to give... Ugh... Up with out a fight... Agh... reaper!" Aakor said to himself as he collapsed to the floor in pain. "Oh I know. That is why I am changing your form to something more..... Nightmarish." The grim said as he stood over Aakor and cackled and held out his skeletal hands over Aakor's body. "No... Please NO!" Aakor yelled as the grim's black smoke poured out over his body and sept into him through any area on his body it could.
Aakor went quiet and winced with pain as his bones started to shift and break, his back bulge out and his eyes turn from normal yellow feline ones to a pure Crimson red and started to smoke the same colour. He was unable to speak or do anything as his body was being changed to that of the shadow wraith that attacked the hotel earlier but with a few differences.
A few minutes later of screaming and crying and What was once Aakor was no longer anthro. It was a large feral with a bladed tail, sabre tooth tiger teeth, long claws like a raptor and it's back still bulging out. It roared as its back bursted open and bits of bone and muscle went flying out along with a lot of blood spraying across the forest floor. Then the mess slowly started to gravitate towards the now demonised Aakor. The bits of bone and muscle started to form wings that were like a dragon's but with bladed tips. "Now see how well things go when you try to help those protectors." The grim laughed and then disappeared into the shadows leaving Aakor in the form of the beast from his worst nightmare yet still in control over his body.
-
As Lennox walked down stairs, he began to realize something was off. It was quiet, too quiet. By now he would expect nothing less of the police surounding the building based on how much commotion that was created tonight. He went to a nearby telephone and picked it up...dead silence. The shadow was smart enough to cut the wires apparently, but if it was smart enough to do that, then it could very well...having trying to avoid detection at all. How long had that shadow been here? A sense of dread filled his entire body. He headed to his bosses office to make sure he was still there. "Boss? You in here...i have everything undercontrol now." Dead silence. Then an unmistakable scent touched his nose...the scent of decaying flesh. He could tell it was coming from his boss's chair, which was turned around facing the window. Lennox dared not check, if he was alive he would be yelling right now. He hurried to the employ's lounge, surely the shadow didn't go past there. He opened the door. "Linda, Kattie, Josh...you alright in there?" "Of course we are" is what he wish he had heard. Instead the only responce was silence. The bodies of his co-workers were splayed out on the ground, Kattie must have tried to call for help because she had a deathgrip on her phone. Lennox closed the door, he was slowly starting to lose it. Who was still alive at this point? He went to the tenets rooms, by his count there were 36 tenets amongst 19 rooms. As he opened each door, the body count began to go higher and higher. As he opened each door, he hoped for a responce, anything at this point. As he opened each door, he began to lose a little more of his sanity each time. Soon there werer no rooms to check, and Lennox's eyes were completely glazed over. Slowly but steadly he walked down the stairs. He was still the doorman that meant he had one last duty to preform. Checking out the tenets. He ignored the two Wolgon he had went looking for before as he came down the stairs and went behind his desk. He pulled out the check-in book, opened it up and began to cross out all the tenets and next to their names he put wether they died or escaped...only two tenets escaped.
-
"Lennox.. Hey Lennox? You okay? What's wrong mate?" Sephir asked worried as he saw the look on Lennox's face. He put Vital down and let Saphira handle him. He walked over to Lennox behind the counter and laid a hand on his shoulder "Lennox talk to me, what is wrong?"
Saphira held Vital close as she looked at the males, worried. Something wasn't right here, it was too quite and lifeless.
-
Lennox didn't speak, he was to intent on finishing his work. He continued to cross names and putting in the fact that they were dead. The only survivors were Martha and her daughter Marry. He mechanically pulled out the employ check in book, and then began to cross out their names, putting dead next to each. When he reached his name he crossed it out and put dead. He took off his gem necklace, put it on the counter and reached for his knife. "I'm sorry everyone...i have failed..."
-
Sephir backed up a bit when Lennox pulled out the knife but slowly moved closer again to stop him when he realized what was going on "Lennox calm down mate. Just breathe for a moment okay? Look at me and just breathe. Now tell me what is the matter." Sephir kept moving towards Lennox slowly as he spoke to him. When he was close enough he slowly turned the palm of his hand upwards and asked Lennox "please give me the knife Lennox. Besides if that necklace you got there is what I think it is this will not kill you. Just give me knife okay?" He kept talking calmly to him and slowly reached out for the knife.
Saphira dared not move, she just stood there holding Vital close to her, but silently a tear ran down her cheek. She had figured out what must had happened.
-
Vita let out a scream, he seemed to be in agonizing pain as tears flooded his face, "AAKOR NNNOOOO!" he screamed loudly again as his body slowly started to dissipate into ash
-
Lennox dropped the knife at the Sephir's feet as soon as he heard Vital scream that name. He came around the desk to Vital. "You know Aakor! Explain! Who is he? Where is he?" As soon as he touched Vital's shoulder it turned to ash. "No! You have to at least tell me where he is? Please!" Lennox was on the verge of tears. If this boy knew him by name, maybe he knew more.
-
Aakor woke up at the remains of Lennox's old house from when he lost control the first time and wondered around unable to speak and tears falling from his wispy smoke like eyes. Then he felt that he still had some sort of connection to vital still. "V-vital?! H-how the hell I'm I still able to hear you?" He thought to himself hopping that vital could still communicate with him through his thoughts.
Soon after he had started to make his way back through the forest and to the main road. He saw a familiar face. It was one of the other protectors. He appeared to have some sort of rune on his face which made him stand out even through the rain and window of the cab.
-
Vital slowly appeared and flew through the protector Aakor saw, he reached a hand out, "Aakor!" he teared up
-
"H-how?!" Aakor yelled as he pulled himself back to avoid causing harm and fled into the forest tree tops using the claws on his wings and paws to grip onto the tree trunks.
-
Vital sobbed and landed on the ground hard, "please... dont go... dont let me lose you again.... any of you... i cant... i cant stand to see you all lost again!!!"
-
He jumped back down and landed in front of vital. "I'm sorry. It's just.... This new form. Sharp edges all over and the long claws. I-I'm a m-monster... I can't even talk with my mouth. I have to think what I want to say..." Aakor said as he started to tear up and slumped to the floor with his large paws over his head.
-
Vital grabbed Aakor's paws and held them close to his chest, "you arent a monster... you are not a monster Aakor..."
-
He pulled them away then looked into vitals eyes "go ask Lennox, the one I gave my life shard too, what I did to his parents. Ask him what happened that night when I murdered his father and mother.... Then try to tell me I'm not a monster, a freak of nature, a beast or whatever describes what I've done... And what I've become."
-
Vital latched onto his paws again,"that wasnt your faoult if you hadnt said yes then the reaper wouldve just found someone else!!!!"
-
"The reaper wouldn't be back if I didn't exist! It's my fault he's back... I was exploring a cave when I came across a strange black gem... Me being the idiot I am I picked it up... You know what the grim is like vital. You've battled each other for millennia..." Aakor snarled as he got up and started to walk towards Lennox's old house. "....I just... Please vital. Lennox is going to need you more than me should the reaper decide to 'improve' my form to suit his needs and wants."
-
Vital looked to the ground, "im not gonna leave this alone..." he disappeared and gasped as his body reformed back in Saphira's arms gapsing for air
-
Sotharc left the cafe, full & happy, but irritated that he had no response for a while. He was relieved nothing was in his head but something told him to speak to that child's voice. Sotharc took a dispensable phone from the nearest store and acted like he was calling someone.
...Hello?... little child?.... Sotharc began trying to focus a connections by remembering the voice and energy from his communication earlier.
....Hellooo?!.... Agh.. "Maybe you need him to contact you... want me to look?" No, dumb shadow.
When am I getting this Scar? It's starting to wake me up when I sleep.... "You haven't slept yet."
Exactly! I can't! Sleep.
"Nightmares getting to you before your slumber? Hehehehahaa." The shadow cackled at Sotharc, mocking him.
I swear... once I get my sanity back.... im.. going.. to kill you.
"You can't kill me if you can think normally... actually, you're already insane, you just don't know it."
Grrrrrrrr . . . . . .
Sotharc left for that Hotel all the way at the end of the street turn.
((The one Saph/Seph/Lennox is in))
-
When Vital reformed Lennox was looking right at him, completely ignoring Saphira and Sephir. He looked desperate and on the verge of going insane. "Your going to tell me where he is now...or else" His face showed very clearly he didn't know what "or else" was. He just knew he was going to do something.
-
Vital curled up afraid and shook his head, "nuh uh"
-
"Look kid, you don't know how important is that i find Aakor. Cause once i find him, i will make him pay for making my life a living hell." Lennox tugged on his collar, the smile of a mad man touched his face. "See this collar kid, it was gift from my mother. She gave it to me right before she had neck stomped on, again and again and again. If you tell me where Aakor is i will gladly show him how much pain she was in, again and again and again."
-
Vital grabbed onto Lennox's paws, "he -iisnt to blame.... he cant control himself. please let me go!" he gulped and shut his eyes turning his head away
-
"Then who is? I saw him do it...I saw him do it all." Lennox let go of Vital's shoulders as the last of sanity was beginning to slip. "If he didn't...then who do i have to blame...who do i have to blame for all this death." Lennox went to the front desk. He picked up the necklace and showed it to Vital. "I don't even know what this is...and yet he still gives it to me. Says i need to proctect it. If this thing is so important why doesn't he protect it! Why should i even care!"
-
"Because... if that shard... if any shard is corrupted or broken.... life ceases to exist..."
he looked up at Lennox, "if you want someone to blame... then blame the Grim Reaper..."
-
The cab pulled up the the hotel and Jacob stepped out, paying the driver before he took off. The fox looked over the building before approaching it, but stopped when he saw someone else heading towards it to. The man looked a bit... odd.. to Jacob. He wore strange cloths, sort of like a straight jacket, and seemed to be mumbling to himself. Must be a German thing. Not wanting to be rude, he opened the door for the man. "After you." He said to Sotharc.
-
Lennox looked at the gem one last time. It was red tinted and still glowed with the that same power that he noticed on Vital and Saphira. Yet there was still something he was missing. He reached out to touch it and as he felt its warm surface, visions began to enter his. He saw places he had never seen before, grassy fields, snowy mountain tops, forests filled with feral creatures, all of it. It was all so beatiful and calm...but then the visions went dark. New visions began to appear, the fields that were once grassy were now dry and desolate. The mountains he saw had become active and filled the sky with smoke. The forest that were once teeming with life, were now dead and silent. Amongst the dead trees he saw a vision of a man made entirely out of shadow. He smiled a dark grin before the visions were gone, now all he saw was his reflection. He couldn't help but notice he looked as mad as Aakor did that night so long ago. Slowly but steadly he put the necklace back on, nowing very well what he saw was a vision of a very possible future. "I won't allow that to happen...not if i can help it." Lennox's face began to relax as he felt his mind begin to return to him. "Thank you...but before we leave there is stuff that needs to be done, including getting a new shirt."
-
Aakor was somehow still in control of his body and was still roaming the nearby forest in search of somewhere he could sleep without being found by hunters and killed by them. "...gah... Maybe it would be easier if I just find a tree with a big enough canopy I could rest up in there..." He mumbled to himself.
A few hours later and he gave up. "Ugh... Looks like I'm not going to be sleeping then." He thought to himself as he took flight and headed for the city in hopes of finding a deserted building. While he was in the air he saw sotharc walking and hovered for a bit to keep an eye on him knowing what he was like. "What the bloody hell is he doing here?" Aakor thought.
-
Sotharc wasn't paying attention to the guy who opened the door, he was so focused on vital he paused and just walked in.
"Um... Thank You!!!" Shouting at what appeared to be nothing, he walked in slowly, noticing that something wasn't right about the hotel. There wasn't anyone at the desk!
"Hey, hey, hey?!! How can people spend the night if theres none to log em in?!"
"Hm... something is still off.... why is there no one working here? Maybe this isn't a hotel. It's probably a cover up for some underground company or crime ring. But, a room is stil a room. Now.. CAN I GET A ROOM?!?"
"Oh why yes sir, heres your room. Number we're not availiable."
-
Lennox heard someone behind them and checked around the corner. He saw a man in what looked to be a straight jacket screaming something about getting a room. This wouldn't be the first time an insane man walked into this establishment, but it should be the last. Lennox told the others to remain quiet and picked up his knife and put it back in its sheath. He then proceeded to the front desk to respond to this man's rant. "Yes sir how can i help you?"
-
Aakor decided to land on the roof opposite and watch closely over Sotharc knowing that he was more then likely up to something.
-
Oh thank you so much! I have been answered! Umm, yes. I would like a room for Two... *Sotharc quickly shook his head annoyingly and corrected himself* One, I meant a room for one. Sorry about my yelling earllier. Also, what appened here?
It looks like a wild animal ran through here. Umm, does the Elavator work? and sorry for so many questions but how much is it?
Sotharc took a breath and relaxed a bit knowing he has had a place to sleep peacefully ever since he left Cau's house.
In the back of his mind, he felt like he was being watched. He didn't know if it was Vital, the guy who opened the door, or the guy at the desk, but he felt it.
-
"Actually sir our establishment may be closing up for good. You see there have too many complaints about racoon crap get into the food and we finally have been succefully sued for it. We apologize for the inconvienence, but we are in the process of packing." Lennox hoped that was a convincing lie, which had some truth because Dave's racoon buddies got into everything.
-
well, im not here to eat. I would just like a place to sleeep. *Sotharc winced as his leg began hurting from walking alot*
Please?.... or i'll just get a room of my own..
-
Saphira and Sephir had been thinking/talking about the whole situation, which was why they had been so silent the entire time.
Saphira picked Vital up in her arms and hugged him "are you okay little one?"
They had agreed that Sephir should try to poke his head around the corner without being noticed, because he was the sneakiest of them.
At first he just watched Lennox try to get rid of the crazy person, but then he noticed something odd. On the rooftop across the street, there was someone, someone who seemed to be spying on them. He notified Saphira and rand for the room with the broken window because he knew that was the quickest way to exit unnoticed.
He flew out the window and around the block, sneaking up on the spying creature from behind. He didn't land but hovered above the rooftop and made himself noticed "hey! You there! What do you think you're doing?" He said loudly. Only now he noticed how monstrous and feral this being looked and he thought that it might actually would not be able to reply to him "listen if you can understand me, stay calm, I will not harm you unless you give me reason to. I will land now." He said and landed slowly, watching it's every move.
-
Aakor turned around slowly with his eyes still smoking red and coughed a bit then shifted around to face Sephir. "I know you and your sister can read each other's thoughts so maybe you can read mine. If you can then it's me... Aakor." He thought hoping that Sephir could read his thoughts as well.
-
Sephir felt an unknown mind reaching out to his, he allowed it in enough to communicate *Aakor? You were a protector right? What has happened to you?* he asked and stepped closer.
-
Aakor looked down and sighed "I lost control and the grim changed my form. At least I have wings now." He thought to Sephir as he slumped to the floor and his eyes faded to a bright yellow. "I'm not sure how or why but I'm still in control over my body."
-
Sephir opened his mouth in shock *the Grim? As in the Grim Reaper?!* he thought at Aakor and then realized he was standing with his mouth open, he quickly closed it and blushed a tiny bit.
-
"Unfortunately yes. The grim is vital's opposite. I know this because I've been living for the past few centuries with a shard of both gems." Aakor replied. He covered his head with his paws then flapped his wings. "Agh! I'm sorry I must go. I can feel the grim trying to takeover again. I must leave." He thought before flying off into the air and in the direction of the nearest forest.
(( gotta go to college. Sorry. ))
-
*does that make Vital god?* Sephir thought to himself confused. He returned to the hotel the same way he had left and rejoined his sister and Vital.
By now he was rather starving so he took one of the paper bags from the baker and pulled out a croissant, which he ate.
Saphira cleared her throat and looked at him accusingly *where are your manners brother? Ask Vital if he wants one and give me one as well* she thought at him and so he did "you want one Vital?" He asked politely and reached out the bag towards Vital and Saphira.
((It's okay :) ))
-
Vital shook his ead and smiled faintly, "thank you... but i dont eat"
-
((Okay... I'm lost.))
-
((Yeah. Totally lost.))
-
Jacob stepped in behind Sotharc, closing the door before walking upto the desk. He sat patiently and waited his turn to speak to the guy at the desk, though not recognizing him from the vision. "Excuse me sir" The fox looked at the giys name tag. "Lennox. When you are done I need to ask you something. And it isnt about a room."
(We are all in Berlin currently, at Lennox's hotel)
-
((Lennox is shirtless right now. If he had his name tag it would be pinned through his skin, which i'm sure would be disturbing. Why is he shirtless, it is because it made it easier to heal him most likely after the shadow fight. So if you could make that edit.))
Lennox was starting to get worried, both these people wanted a room but the only room that there was is past the giant mess the shadow created. "Look i would love to give you both a room but you see there is a slight problem..." Lennox was running out of lies and he couldn't say there were bodies upstairs.
-
Hawhhhhhhh... *Sotharc sighed greatly, swinging his arms into the air
"Look, if you don't want me here.. fine. You could've just told me instead of lying."
Sotharc turned around and bumped into the door
Ooah!.. Nnnrrrhh... *kicks the door open*
Sotharc looked back at Lennox, leaned against the door and grinded his right paw claws against the brick exterior, sharpening them.
He stared into Lennox's face and said:
"Hey, shirtless guy.. that's a nice knife you have. Keep it handy at all times. Don't worry, my shadow told me. Have a nice day with those people!"
with that, he laughed rather happily but walked away thinking of a way to get upstairs.
"Hm... maybe I could scale it.. it's not that difficult when it's a giant tetris block. I think i'll glamorously take 3rd floor."
-
Vital curled up into Saphira's arms and dozed off. In his sleep he reached out to Sotharc, "ummm... so my name is Vital... and... well i dont really know if i can tell you much else..."
-
"*sigh* great more enemies." Lennox turned to Jacob. Lennox had easily felt the power of his life gem. "You however come with me." He flashed his own gem and turned to lead him to the rest of the group.
-
Jacob raised a brow and cocked his head. Yet another gem holder? With a shrug he follwed Lennox, rolling both his sleeves up, exposing the gem on his arm.
-
Saphira and Sephir were nomming on their croissants when Lennox came back and had brought someone with him.
Sephir instinctively stood up, ready to fight if nessesary (he had been sitting on the floor), but he then recognized the stranger from that time Vital had pulled all of the protectors into the crystal world and loosened up a bit. He gave him a nod of recognission.
Saphira stayed in her sitting position on the floor, mainly because Vital was sleeping in her arms. She also nodded at the new guy and said "hi, you're one of us right?".
((Sorry for the short reply and the bad spelling, but the spell check button doesn't work..))
-
Jacob looked amongst the fellow shard holders in the room, not really sure what to do now. He hadnt thought this far ahead. His eyes glanced over to the wolfdragon who had just spoke to him. "Ehh.. yep." He held up his arm with a small nervous laugh, the gem glinting in the middle of the bracer. "My name is Jacob, and all of you are...?"
-
"Lennox, i actually just became a protecter tonight."
-
"I am Saphira" Saphira said and nodded her head gracefully.
"And I am Sephir" Sephir added and made a small bow like gesture "we are twins in case you haven't noticed. We hatched from the same egg and share a mental connection" he said.
"Oh and you probably know this little fella already" Saphira said with a smile and gestured towards Vital with her head.
-
Vital shuffld a bit feelin the other shard energies nearing, he smiled and cooed in his sleep before his thumb found its way into his mouth.
-
"Adorable." Lennox said in a dry tone as he saw Vital stick his thumb in his mouth.
-
Jacob nodded to each, a smile creasing his lips. It was good to finally be with the other shard holders, even if he had no clue what they were even supposed to do. Leaning against the wall, he slid down it, letting out a sigh and leaning his head back. "Its going to be horrible getting used to the time change."
-
"I hear ya man, but there will probably be worse things than time changes. Since your apparently one of us...whatever us is, i think you have a right to know what went down at this hotel." Lennox face turned dark again. "A shadow beast has killed almost all the residents and emploies in this hotel. There were only two that escaped before i managed to kill the thing. That is why i didn't want that crazy person in here, i didn't want him to know about the bodies." Lennox knew it was rather blunt but he didn't want to give details. He did however leave one key piece of information out cause he wasn't sure how people would react. When he killed the beast it had sprayed its blood everywhere including into his open wound. Whatever that thing was its blood had brought back bad memories and he felt the blood was still inside him. If they knew he had the beast's blood he may lose the trust he had gained.
-
Sotharc had quickly scaled the building but was stuck after he noticed something in the 2nd floor window.
Climbing down, Sotharc peered inside to what looked like a murder scene.
"What the.... in hell happed here??"
Sotharc climbed higher and higher, looking through the window only to see the same scene over and over.
He climbed down to the 3rd floor, broke through the window and landed on a bed.
"I knew something was definitely off about this place..."
Sotharc sat on the bed briefly and had a flashback of his police station massacre.
"Gahhh! ..Ngh, hahh, hehhh hahh... I've lost my mind years ago but i'm still civilised."
He stepped off the bed and the 3rd floor broke open and he fell through making a loud thud on the 2nd floor.
"There goes my vacation..."
Sotharc notices a child. "Now that's just wrong. I know I killed a teen but killing a child is not ok."
"These bodies need a proper burial... I think a cremation is in order."
Sotharc lays against the bed on 2nd floor and slowly dozes off on it.
-
Sephir was just standing there, not knowing what to do or say.
Saphira however were completely focused on Vital and had that 'dawww'-face females tend to get around cute children.
((Sorry guys didn't really know what to respond xS))
-
Vital yawned and smacked his lips before opening his eyes and rubbing them, "w-whats happening?" he looked around at the shard holders and just groggily stared, his mind wasnt at full mast... it took him a few moments before he was smiling wide, "you... you found some more!"
-
"Yeah i met him at the door. By the way we should leave this place soon, I already had to shew someone away at the door. I'm going upstairs to get some supplies, but i'll be right back." With that Lennox left the group and headed upstairs.
-
Sotharc slept soundly against the bloodied bed. Although dry, it still seemed damp.
He laid against the bed and mumbled in his sleep.
"Im not dying here.. im not staying here...."
-
Jacob sat up, a look of confusion on his face. "What do you mean attacked? What shadow beast?" The fox looked around to each of the protectors, finally settling on Vital. "I missed a lot.... didnt I"
-
Upstairs Lennox went to the emploies lounge and tried to ignore the bodies of his friends. He went to his locker, opened it, and pulled out his spare hoody and shirt. He put them on and then also grabbed his spare knife and two belt bags that had 10 throwing knifes each, and his backpack. He strapped the bags to his belt, and headed to his boss's office. "Sorry boss but i need a raise." It was a little easier to search the body of his boss but then again he hated his boss when he was alive. When he found the key to the safe he, opened a trap door beneath the desk where the safe was. Using the key he opened the safe and began stuffing the money in his backpack. When he was done he headed back down stairs. At one point he thought he heard muttering in one the rooms but ignored it. He came down the stairs and rejoined the group. "We should leave, this place has to many memories. My car is in the parking lot."
-
Sephir nodded at Jacob "yeah, but we sorta missed it too so don't worry too much about it. Saphira was halfway to Luxembourg and I was out cold on the parking lot when Lennox killed that wierd monster and apparently the fight was a distraction for it to kill everyone here so I think you're lucky to have missed it" he said.
Saphira hugged Vital "good morning sleepyhead" she said to him and nuzzled him.
Then Lennox came back.
"We are not getting into any car" they both said. "We fly, but you can drive" Sephir added and made a gesture towards the door.
-
"That's what i figured, but the rest of us can't. I don't know where you guys were headed before you stopped here but where ever it is, its better then here."
-
Sotharc awoke and yawned, stretching out and getting up to look out the window.
He stared out into the city and watched the snow covered streets.
"I gotta destroy this building but I love the beds..." He felt his face and noticed the tattoo had a slight engraving in his cheek.
"Hmm, wasn't like this before.." He picked up his 44 and fired a round through the window, hitting the street.
"Im going to have to destroy the hotel's gas line.... if it has one."
Sotharc held his 44 and checked it's chambers. One was blank from recently and another was blank, mid-roll.
"4 left. All I need is one."
Sotharc left the room and was respecfully carrying a body, but he went upstairs instead of down.
"Hahhhh... maybe I should just go to the boiler room... I forgot how heavy furs get after death. I still can not understand that. Shouldn't the live body be heavier? I mean, it would make sense since a live fur can manipulate how heavy they feel.
Hmmm... Im kinda hungry.. im sorry guys but I am hungry. Im going to take a break and eat something.
Breakfast, a Dinner... anything."
Sotharc gently laid the body down and stared out the window again, almost as if he was waiting for something to leave.
-
"Luxembourg in Luxembourg" Sephir replied and held the door for the rest of party.
-
Lennox left the building and went to his car. He couldn't help the feeling he was being watched but he was too tired to care. He got in his car and started the engine and waited for Jacob to get in.
-
Vital nuzzled saphira back and giggled, "wheres luxembourg?"
-
Jacob sighed and stood, checking the clip on his .45 before proceeding out the door. Getting to Lennox's car he stopped for a momment and turned to Saphira. "Would you prefer we take Vital in the car? Id assume it would make it easier for you yo fly if you had less weight."
-
"W-Well if im getting in the way i could always just go back into the shard..." he said a bit sadly,
-
Sotharc watched everyone leave the building. He gently laid thae body down and walked downstairs.
some mysterious feeling poked at him after the hotel became a bit dim from the doors closing.
He felt the hotel.. all of it, he hadn't gone to the darkest part yet. He felt the boiler room would actually scare him.
Sotharc readily held his Large Nightblade and his 44, then he descended into the boiler room to find the gas line.
The hotel didn't feel like this before... I think someone or something happened and now it feels really... deadening.
Hmmm, that's not a word but I know what it means.
Sotharc's Shadow split from him, manifested into a self aware form and watched Sotharc's back.
''Don't you worry. If I sense something, i'll let you know. ''
Sotharc found the gas line but it was already pumping into the hotel. He knew if he shot it now, he'd die.
I have to use a cement or metal plate.. AH, My knives!
Sotharc covered his face, stepped out of the Hotel, and placed two small knives in the window.
Now.. to ignite the- "Sotharc... I think I sense something at the door. It isn't a wraith, but it isn't alive either."
Uh, what? Can it walk? Can it run? Can it make sounds?
"I can't tell.."
-
A few growning noises came from behind the door as the room got darker and black veins and vines spread around the room coming from the shadows and covering over any source of light it could.
-
*gulp* Ahgem... Shadow.. what is that..? I swear, if you're pulling a prank, i'm gonna make hay outta you.
"That's not me.. what's at the door? Sounds like a person.. alive?"
I'll check, where's my chain... aha, Hyu! *Sotharc throws the chain at the door and tries pulling it open*
umm... it won't budge. *chain breaks the handle* Great.
Sotharc wields both blades and steps towards the doors, listening to the groan get louder and louder the closer he gets.
The groans stop for a short period and Sotharc reaches to pull the door open, hoping it went away.
-
When he opens the doors a one of the other tenants is standing there void of colour and life with completely blacked out eyes, pail fur and the strange vines stretching from a gaping hole in his chest and up his neck into his tear ducts. The tenant looks straight through Sotharc as though he isn't there and stumbles forward.
-
Sotharc jumps back a general safe distance and watches with anticipation.
Can it see me? *stands up a little straighter*
Shadow, do something.
"NO!" His shadow goes to hide even though it has nothing white to blend in with.
Sotharc slowly inches towards the thing and watches intently.
-
As it comes closer the vines that were spreading around the room wrap around Sotharc's ankles and pull him into the air. The tenant stopped moving and locked it's sights on Sotharc's shadow trying to hide then sprinted at it with an alarming rate for something that appeared to have been as slow moving as a sloth.
-
Upside down Sotharc thinks for a bit. Hmmm.. how exactly do I get out of this.
feeling a little helpless, Sotharc stares at his shadow.
"WHOA WHOA WHOA,, GET THAT THING!!"
Sotharc easily became frustrated, his head hit the ground and he's hanging.
And his Shadow is being attacked. What better way to spend a cremation.
When I get down from here, im gonna beat you to a pulp!
Wait... wasn't I doing something before... this?... I WAS!!
Sotharc remembers his little knives in the window and the gas throughout the hotel.
-
The tenant turned Sotharc as he spoke and looked in the general direction of his voice for a bit before slowly stumbling towards him with its arms drooping at rather side of his sides.
-
"Why are you, looking at me like that? It's creepy, stop it."
Sotharc's shadow retreated to his body and melded in
"It hasn't attacked me for some reason. Is it this?" Sotharc felt the Rune on his cheek get cold.
"Brrrr.. I never did like this tattoo."
((Sorry, im tired. Can't focus much.))

Lennox was waiting in his car when he started to hear whispering in his ear. "Its still here...it is still here and it must die." Lennox looked around to find what he was hearing but saw nothing. "Is someone there?" Lennox asked quietly. "Behind you." Lennox slowly turned in his seat to look behind him. Through the back windshield he saw the Crazy leopard, dangling by a black vine. He looked even closer and saw one of the tenants that he thought was dead with black tendrils coming out of the body. Lennox got out of the car, leaving the engine on, and ran back to the hotel, red energy flowing from his body. He charged straight threw the glass door, threw one of his knives from his belt bags, cutting threw the vine and dropping Sotharc.
-
The tenant looked at the direction of the glass as it smashed and started to walk toward that instead. It seemed to only be attracted to noise and that of which the vines had gotten a hold of.
-
Dropping to the floor, Sotharc landed almost headfirst but supported the impact with his arms and back.
Sotharc rapidly stands up and shoots the knives in the window.
"I am tired of this! No more exceptions!" *44 Boom* The bullet strikes both knives and creates a couple of sparks.
The gas flowing throughout the hotel could be seen briefly before the building ignited and exploded into flames.
Sotharc's body gets knocked back into a tree and is rendered unable to move. He can speak and move his head to look, but he can't move his limbs. It's a temporary paralysis for now.
"AGH!!.... Glad that's-..!!- I can't move!...." Sotharc tries to move but it is pointless.
"GRRAAAAAAAHHHHH!!....Hahhh... hhhh. Why me?"
-
Lennox tried to get out of the way but was caught full blast in the explosion. He was flung into the parking back through the doors and landed with a big thud. He wasn't moving and his breath was shallow, he was lucky to still be alive.
-
Aakor had finally lost control. He could do nothing to control his body and it was on a rampage in the streets of Germany making its way to the house that Lennox's foster parents lived in and Aakor knew what its plan was as soon as he couldn't control his body any longer.
-
Vital's eyes glowed compltely golden, he demateriaised from Saphiras arms and rematerialised hovering in front of AAkor, he held out his paw as a large sword slowly appeared and grabbed it. "Reaper.... leave..."
-
Aakor's body did nothing but keep walking through the area and down the street just a few hundred yards away from Lennox's house.
-
Again Lennox dreamed of his parents deaths, but this time something was different. In place of Aakor, a man made entirely out of shadow, committed all the acts that he thought Aakor had done. This shadow was the one choking him, the one who killed his father and mother, and burned down his house. When it was over he found himself lying in the bed of his childhood, but everything was burnt. Lennox got out of bed and followed what sounded like...Mom! She was humming the lullaby that had helped him sleep countless nights. He went down the hallway to the living room where it was coming from, but when he got there someone else was humming. He loooked almost exactly like Lennox feature wise, but his fur was white and eyes blue. He stopped humming and turned to Lennox, a smirk stretching across his face. "Why hello Lennox. What, where you expecting someone else?" The copycat smiled even wider as he saw Lennox's face get angry. "What have you done with mom?" Lennox said between gritted teeth.
"She was never here you see. I mearly replayed a memory we share." Lennox was confused now.
"How do know mom's lullaby? Who are you?" The white eevee appeared in front of Lennox with alarming speed.
"I am you. Hahahaha!" He held out his paw and Lennox shook it, still pretty confused as to what he meant.
"How's that possible..."
"Well it is simple. I am the manifestation of all your anger, regrets, insanity, and basically all the negative feelings you have felt. This is possible because of the battle with the shadow wraith and how its blood infected your system, giving me life."
"So your just another murder." Lennox put very bluntly
"How could say that about yourself? I am mearly almost everything you have felt against other people given life in your body. If i am a murderer...so are you." That last statement didn't sit well with Lennox.
"What do you want?"
"I just came to inform you about the where abouts of the one who murdered our parents. He curently going after your foster parents. I wonder how long you have before he kills them." Lennox eyes went wide with fear.
"No he can't do that! He can't! There the only family i have left." Lennox looked like he was about to lose it when the white eevee gently put his paw o Lennox's shoulder
"Now listen, i can help you get to thenin no time. All you have to do is accept my power and combine it with yours." He held out his paw again but this time it was glowing with black energy.
"You have got yourself a deal Mr..." Lennox took his hand without hesitation. The black energy traveled up Lennox arm and began to cover his whole body, much like his own magic.
"Please...call me Xonnel." Xonnel smiled like a mad man. With that the dream deteriated as well as Lennox's body in the waking world, until all was gone
-
Vital pointed his sword straight at the black figure, "i said stop!"
-
"Viiitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall!!!" Sotharc screamed loudly as his body was immobile.
-
Remulus left the subway and headed out the station. He wore a hoodie and black jeans so that he wouldn't raise suspicion. On his right arm bore a greeve with a green gem in the middle. On his back were two dual swords. He walked to his cruddy apartment and took out his key. The door wouldn't open no matter what he did. He didn't want to blast it down so he walked to the apartment complex's office.
Yes, this is life. And in it I will dance till I die.
