Eyo holla! Can't stop giggling...ok so I need a nickname for my old man.
I'm torn between 'old bear' and 'old fox' at the moment.
Backstory time: I adore my old man and don't get me wrong but he's a grumpy old man who nitpicks a lot. He's also very lateral minded and smart. Annoyingly so, cause I'm still young and dumb. He's not a furry by the way and thankfully knows nothing about the fandom - which is good because I can imagine the sideways glances i'd be getting if he knew I was part if the same breed that produces yiffers. My god.
So yeah. I don't actually have a bone to pick with him - my family doesn't operate that way. What I'm after is a nickname which acknowledges his age, grumpiness and maybe intelligence. Hence I'm torn between old bear - bears being known for their strength and tempers - and old fox; foxes obviously being famed for being cunning and whatnot.
To clarify once more, I'm not mad at my old man and if I were I'd deal with it by logically resolving the situation and not complaining here - I was reared like that - and he doesn't hate the furry fandom, he's just so...so last generation! Haha. Just after a nickname.
As an interesting observation, isn't it weird how you get to a certain age and start wanting to defy your dad? I'm over that now. but when I went through it I wound up wondering why. My conclusion? It's primal; the basic desire to usurp the leader and take charge of the pack. Despite how much we wreathe ourselves on out society our race is still surprisingly primal.
I ramble philosophically like that. So yeah...what nickname fits best?

Umm. I'd say old bear because bears are actually pretty smart too.

Old fox cos foxes are cool.

The Old Bear it is! I've been calling the guy that in my head for a bit anyway. I wonder if he's gonna kill me in the woods when I start calling him that. Haha who am I kidding, he totally will *grins evilly with my tail between my legs.*
