Ray skipped through the wasteland, a fresh delivery on his back. Though he was only 18, the Mojave Express thought it would be great to have a younger Courier, as older Couriers tended to succumb to illness more readily. He stopped at the town of Novac, and dropped off a delivery for the traveling doctor there. He rested on a bench, happily flipping an Ace of Spades through his fingers. He watched the local populace shuffle about, waiting for the next delivery. A unique thing about Ray, he had come from Vault 103, and had acquired his Pip-boy at the age of 10, as all Vault dwellers do.

*gaia walked through the desert wasteland searching for food through a couple corpses scattered about hill* "dammit... No luck...." *she stands up seeing two male furrs walking about looking for her since she stole for food and sometimes killed for weapons, she just was struggling to live*

*The Ranger Keep at his outpost along with glowing red eyepieces and a LMG he sees a Legion patrol not that far east and sets of to destroy these enemies*

Ray watched as the two men walk into town, looking upset. Ray greeted them, with a smile. "Hey, guys. You seem tense, is there something you need?" "Yeah, we're looking for a girl" Ray chuckled. "Aren't we all? Heh, anyway, who you lookin' for?" "A thief, and murderer." "Huh, well there's lots a those, friend. You'll have to be specific." The two men handed Ray a picture of Gaia. "Huh, she doesn't seem bad, just trying to survive like the rest of us." "Well, if you see her, there's a forty five thousand cap bounty on her head." "Well, if I see her, I'll shout." The two men walked away, and Ray smiled. "I'm not selling people out to anyone." He said to himself. He stood up, and studied the picture, remembering Gaia's face.

*Gaia falls on the floor quickly crawling slowly down the hill, accidentally he elbow hits a broken bottle* "ahhh!" *the male furrs then run up the hill pointing there weapons, Gaia's head looks at the floor raising her paws she looks at the blade next her thinking her plan quickly*

*both of the hunters turn around aiming their guns at ray* "BACK OFF SHE'S OUR LOOT!" *Gaia smiles holding the rusty blade tackling one as he fires his gun in the air once he fell and the other about to shoot Gaia*

Ray sneered, and drew his handgun. With unprecedented accuracy, he shot the standing furr through the eye, and the furr dropped. Ray walked over to Gaia, holstering the pistol. "You alright, miss?"

*Gaia looked at Ray confused she barely talked last time she talk was a week ago to a dying man* "uh... Y-yea I'm fine" *she gets up holding the rusty knife* "lemme guess your just like them wanting the money for yourself..."

Ray shook his head. "No ma'am, I'm just a Courier. It's not the destination, it's the journey, right?" Ray extended a paw. "My name's Ray, what's yours?"

*I shake his hand* "nice to meet you, I'm Gaia"

Ray nodded. "Pleasure to meet you, Gaia. Say, you seem well traveled, could I..umm...accompany you on your adventures? I've really wanted to travel around, see the wastes."

*The Ranger looks at the two Before looking at his hidden pipboy and turning on a radio station*"I Would like to join too..."

Ray jumped, at the new voice. He turned slowly towards the Ranger and blinked. "You...you're a...a Ranger!"

"Uhh ok well I might be quiet. Like a lot.. But yea I guess you could join..." *she says awkwardly while looting the dead furrs finding some snacks* "oh!! And uh you too I guess..." *she gets up examining the two*

Ray stood awkwardly, scuffing his shoe in the dirt. "I...uh...this is my first run...I've not been anywhere but here, and the Hub. I've heard New Vegas is nice...if you can get in."

"Yes we can get into Vegas from a Subway line in camp mcarren.."*Looks at ray*"Yes a Ranger..."

Ray rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. "I feel all sorts of important, traveling with a Ranger."

"Well we can go where ever you'd guys like when you want. just tell me" *she sits on the rock looking at Ray and jacob talk for a little and look back at the sky*

Ray shrugged. "New Vegas would seem like a good place to go, but...it's like a three day walk from here." Ray looked up at the Ranger, in awe. "What do you think, Mr. Ranger?" Ray hated to admit it, but he wasn't as old mentally as he was physically. He could operate on his own, but only as well as a six year old child could. The Express was elated with this, as Ray asked less questions and was more willing to wander to strange in remote places.

"New Vegas it is.." *she gets up dusting herself off* "also it's fine, I'm used to running and walking for a long time.."

Ray nodded. "Lead the way, miss Gaia." He readied up, hiking the now empty sack on his shoulder up higher.

*she begins to walk down the hill and then stopping looking up at the sky then around the area* "....south" *she then walks south"

Ray followed behind Gaia, before he recognized the symbol on her suit. "Y-you're with the Brotherhood of Steel?"

*Jacob points to a airstrip with NCR colours flying over It,he twils his Ranger Sequoia around his finger as his radio Jolts to life*

Ray turned to the sound of Jacob's radio. "What is it, Mr. Ranger? Did you see something?" Ray watched the Sequoia twirl around and around.

*she stops looking at Ray and the airstrip* "uh yea I used to but I quit, I can join back when ever... And also this armor isn't mine it was my brothers but he's dead so I wear his armor.."

Ray nodded at Gaia's comment, but he didn't turn away from the Sequoia, which captivated him so much.

*"Big Iron"Play's after the radio Jolts and he looks to Ray*"No its fine..i was trying to find a good tune"

"Oh ok" *she then stops and her ears go up* "shh turn it off..." *she says cautiously*

*He turns it off cautiously grabbing his Sequoia*

Ray nodded. "Oh, okay." He dropped down onto his belly, and looked up at Gaia.

*she looked around as her eyes went yellow she then looks behind Jacob pushing him* " centaur!!" *the giant evolved centaur slashes Gaia out of the way after slowly making its way to Ray*

Ray panicked, and covered his head, trying to hide from the centaur. "N-no...no no..."

*He shoots The centuar in the head with the distinctive crack of his sequoia causing blood to spray everywhere*

*Gaia gets up holding her arm* "Jesus... Thanks uh..." *she says in a embarrassed voice* "sorry I don't know you name"

Ray flinched at the sound of the gun. He felt the blood rain down on him. He spoke up without lifting his head. "I...is the monster gone? Miss Gaia? Mr. Ranger?"

"Yes the centaur is dead.." *she says in a calm whisper*

*He shoots the body a few more times before five Legion assassins approach The Ranger*

Ray looked up, slowly, looking around cautiously. He then stood up, and ran behind Gaia's imposing black armor, a few tears coursing down my face. "I...I was...s-so scared..." Ray pressed his face into the cold metal.

"It's ok... Besides you need to stop crying theres a lot of other creatures out there" *she says still holding her arm watching the legion assassins and one approaches her*

"Who are you guys?" *she asks the assassins as the one still stares at her*

*The Ranger shoots the assassins before killing the rest with only 6 bullets*

*gaias eyes widen with shock looking at the bodies* "well... That happend.." *she looks back at the ranger saying* "I'm sorry I didn't get your name..." *she said kneeling down looting the bodies*

"You dont need to know my name Ma'am..."

"Hmm ok well we need to get you some armor ray" *she undresses the assassin that was about rays size* "put them on Ray"

*gaia gets up* "gotta do something stay here" *she walks off behind a rock*

Ray nodded, and took the assassin's armor. He walked off towards a sparse patch of rocks, and he stripped down to his underpants, and quickly got dressed. He walked back to the Ranger, pulling the hood on. "H-How do I look, Mr. Ranger?"

*while gaia was behind the rock she took off her chest armor wearing a black sports bra under revealing scars, bleeding cuts, and bruises on her back, stomach, and arms. She picks up the bandages that she found from the assassin she began to wrap it around her stomach and back making a painful face as the bandage touched her scars*

"Like you will get shot once we make it to Mcarren...."*He takes of his helmet revealing a giant scar across my face*

*after she was done gaia puts her Chest armor back on she closed her eyes nearly about to cry but she gets up putting on a serious face hiding her pain and walking back to the others*
"Ok let's walk as far as we can until it's night fall then we will camp" *she says starting to walk south again*

*Gaia listens to the song and smiles as she remembers the good times as a child*

Ray adjusted his goggles, complaining. "I can't...see out of these things!" He fought with the goggles, until they snapped back, and hit him in the face. He grasped at the goggles, and whined. "Why do I have to wear this?"

"I never said to wear the goggles, silly.." *she gives a smirk* "it was given as a choice"

Ray ran off back towards the rocks, and came back wearing his old clothes. "Ick...someone died in those clothes." He adjusted a sun hat he found, and beamed. "I found this rolling around."

*The ranger looks at Ray before giving him a armored Courier Duster*"Just in case fighting gets outta' hand"

Ray took the duster, and fought with it a moment, trying to put it on. After finalizing it's position, he played with the collar, and laughed. "Heh...like a cowboy."

*gaia whistles as the moon shined on her fur* "well time to set up camp..."

Ray nodded, and ran off towards the rocks he changed behind. He collected various dry brush, and brought back a small bundle. He dropped it in front of Gaia, and sat down. "Momma said I shouldn't play with fire, so I guess you do it..?"

*The Ranger Grabs his engraved lighter as it gleams off his eyepieces*

"Well mama not here no more..." *she says in a calm tone and sits on the rock looking at the stars*

Ray shook his head. "Still...momma wouldn't want me to do anything dangerous." He sat on the ground, and pulled his knees to his chin. He watched the Ranger in awe.

*As the ranger took off his mask he grabs a cigarette before silently smoking it*

*she looks at the fire as it reflects from her eyes* "you guys hungry*

Ray blinked, and reached into his shirt pocket. He pulled out a small picture, and a harmonica. He stared at the picture for a few moments, before, with moist eyes, began playing a slow, sad tune on the harmonica.

*He flicks his cigarette before slightly turning his head to gaia*"That would be great Pretty Lady"*He turns forward*"Just Great"

*she take out some can of beans and another can with vegetables* "sorry this all I got heh it's hard getting food out here" *she says while stabbing the can with her knife opening the cans one by one*

Ray stopped playing, and sniffed. "S-Sorry...I haven't looked at that pi'tchur in a while...it's the last one of me an' momma." He rubbed his eyes, and looked at Gaia. "Y-You...you're willing to share food?"

*The ranger sits next to Ray*"Well since this is a moment of peace...anybody have a backstory?"

"Oh I'm sorry for you and your mom" *she said in a concerned voice she hears his other question* "um yea I can't let you all starve... Beside I got a couple more cans just in case we stay another night out.." *she says give a smile and quickly fades into serious face she then looks at jacob* "um I guess we can share are backstories... Well I think I'll go first" *she thinks how she's going to put it to make it short*

Ray perked up. "Ooh! Ooh! I got a story! Momma brought me to the Es'press, and she said that they'd help me survive. Teach me how to live off the sand. Find water that doesn't burn your nose, that sort of thing. Then...one day...she left. She said I was a big boy now, and I didn't need her. I...I cried. I was so scared, and didn't know what to do...then the Es'press boss gave me a job. And now I'm here, with a Mr. Ranger, and a Steel Lady." He looked back and forth between Gaia and the Ranger.

"Hmm ok guess it's my turn... well I never knew my mom and dad. I use to live in vault 13 when I was 16 but me and my brother were kicked out because how we were always the outcast and my brother stole so he had to leave and I left with him... He died eventually when I was 17 from some assassins, that's why I wear his armor. So I was just a scavenger and then became a thief and murder when I was 18 to survive.. That's why I'm wanted so much.." *the end of the sentence fades to a whisper* "that's pretty much it"

"I was born in The Divide....Which i stayed at until survival was nearly impossible....i made it down to here hearing about the Two headed Bear and the Bull...Two sides I have both fought for....enough of that I am not going to be aligned to the NCR...but To the Old World promise of Hope...And Freedom for every man...Im a wild card at that....Mr.House is a good opportunity for this Freedom"

"Well now that we know each other how about we eat now" *she hands them each a can a beans*

Ray held the can, blinked, and yawned. "I've heard of the Divide. Is it really as bad as it sounds? I've heard some of the..." He yawned again. "The older Couriers talkin' about it. Mr. Jackson liked to talk about it...before he left." Ray blinked slowly, and his head drooped.

*He stirs it slowly*"The Divide My little courier IS dangerous...if the Marked men and deathclaws dont get you....Radiation will"

"Yea I heard a lot of stories seems dangerous I've seen it myself a man trying to walk about and dead the next second.." *she looks at Ray falling asleep she lays him down putting a blanket over him*

Ray smiled sleepily, and looked at Gaia with half-closed eyes. "Thank you...momma." He curled up, and fell asleep.

"That was weird ha" *she sat back on the rock looking at the fire*

*The ranger finishes his beans before he Lays on thr ground*"I just need some rest"

"Yea I do too sweet dreams" *she lays on the floor holding her tail*

*The Light Slowly Fades in the rangers mask before light breathing could be heard*

*Gaia wakes up at 4:00 in the morning stretching*

Ray turned, and spoke softly in his sleep. His pistol fell from his holster, and clattered lightly in the dust, and revealed that it had no magazine in it.

"Ima have to teach that kid how to surviving..." *she walks around finding a cyber dog on the floor she kneels down beginning to work on it*

*The Ranger rises up and stretches his back before Looking at gaia*"What are you doing Pretty Lady?"

"Uh I'm fixing this cyber dog" *she says shyly*

Ray opened his eyes, slowly, and looked around for a moment, confused. He stretched and yawned. "Hmm....good morning, Steel Lady, Mr. Ranger." He sat upright, and rubbed his eyes. "What time is it?"

"About......4:07..."*He Turns towards the CyberDog*Ma'am...you look beautiful today"

Ray blinked a few times, and looked between the Ranger and Gaia. "Are you guys..." He covered his mouth, sheepishly. "Boyfriend and girlfriend?"

"T-thank you" *she replies to Jacob blushing and hides her face not to reveal her red cheeks. Then hears Rays question* "oh um.. Erm...." *she gets embarrassed then hears Jacobs response getting surprised he said that*

*The Ranger hear Ray*"...M-maybe?"

Ray giggled, and stood up. "Momma said that boyfriends and girlfriends need to be alone sometimes. I'm gonna walk to New Vegas, I guess you can catch up with me if you want." He walked towards New Vegas, after picking up his empty handgun.

Ray skipped through the wastes, talked with a few traveling merchants, who liberally conned him out of hundreds of caps for only a couple bottles of water. He didn't care, or rather didn't know. He didn't realize that a group of raiders was tailing him, and Ray continued down the road to New Vegas, as the raiders gained ground.

*the cyber dog comes back to life after what Ray says and leaves Gaia blushes staring at Ray then to Jacob giving a awkward smile and looking back at the cyber dog* "heh that was awkward what he said..."

Ray stopped at a cliff, looking up at it's immense stature. He nearly toppled over, and turned around, spotting the bandits following him. He waved at them, with a great big smile. "Hey, guys! W-What's goin' on?" One steps up, wearing a coyote skin around his shoulders. "You picked a bad time to get lost. Get 'im boys!" Three large bandits break away from the group, and draw hunting rifles. Ray realized that they weren't good, and immediately...cowered in fear. He drew his empty handgun, and curled up slightly. Ray grabbed a keepsake from his mother, a silver bullet, stuck on a thin gold chain. Time seems to slow, and the sound of a guitar riff echoes around the cliff. A raccoon, slightly larger than Ray, stepped out of the wastes, a cigarette held in his right paw, a beautiful magnum held in the other. He wore a large white duster, and a white fedora. He pulled the cigarette up to his mouth, and held it in his lips. He popped his collar, and leveled the magnum off at the bandits. Six shots, six dead bandits. He turned to Ray, patted him on the shoulder, and dropped a note at his feet. He walked into the wastes, and seemed to disappear, and a guitar riff followed him out.

*Gaia stands up straight* "you hear that..?" *she says hearing noises were Ray was at*

*The ranger stands there looking at the Canyon wreckage which has writing on it*/RANGER?/

(Sorry tapatalk acting weird so I might not respond so quick :() *gaia runs to the noise seeing Ray and helping him up* "what happend...?"

Ray stood up, shakily. He looked down, grabbed the note, and read it aloud. "You and I are bound by a common bond. Call if you need me. M. S. Huh, M.S? What does that mean." He looked up at Gaia. "I'm okay...got a little dusty, though. Those bad men wanted to hurt me. But I guess momma's friend came." Ray leaned, and looked behind Gaia. "Where's Mr. Ranger? Did he leave?" Ray looked at Gaia, his eyes locked on hers. "Like Charlie did with momma?"

"Uhh I don't know where he went" *she turns around* "come, let's find him" *she says giving a hand signal to follow*

Ray folded the note up, and put it in his back pocket. He then stood behind Gaia, just slightly to the left. "You lead the way, Steel Lady."

*The Ranger Steps into the divide once more...he must take this road alone...and no matter what he will take the way back alone

(Oops didn't mean to post that other one lol) "ok, hey boy!!" *she yells making the cyber dog run to her and stopping to her feet* "find ranger.." *the dog tilts it's head before thinking and leading the trail*

*the cyber dog, Gaia, and Ray eventually find the ranger* "hey we're were you?" *Gaia asked in a quiet calm voice* "I was..." *she blushes* "We were worried for a moment"

Ray peered over the edge of the canyon. "What's down there? Helloooo!?" Ray heard his echo bounce off of the walls, and he laughed, before sitting down on the edge.

*Gaia looks at Ray* "be careful.."

*The Ranger takes his mask off before moving towards gaia,*

*she looks at him* "what?...." *she says a soft voice her face red from him getting closer*

Ray kicked his feet against the canyon wall, causing loose scree to fall. "I'm not gonna fall." He glanced at the Ranger, before looking out at the canyon. He knew the look in the Ranger's eyes.

*He kisses Gaia on the lips before putting his mask back*"Hehe...Youre Welcome"

*her cheeks burned red and she smiles* "um thanks.."

Ray leaned out farther, looking at the valley. "Huh...looks like...people down there. S-Should we...?" He turned around, and immediately clapped a paw over his mouth, looking between Gaia and the Ranger.

*she was still blushing and sees ray* "w-what was that Ray..?"

Ray shuttered, and pointed down at the canyon. Several humanoid figures shuffled past, carrying crosses. On each cross was another figure, writhing in pain. He pulled his legs up, and curled up in the dirt.

*she looks at were her pointed then looks were he lays* "whats wrong with you...?"

Ray covered his eyes, and spoke shakily. "T-There's people on those sticks...I-I can hear them...They're saying sad things..."

"Look Ray.." *she kneels down* "your gonna have to grow strong because your going to see died furrs, dangerous creatures, and heck something could happen to you.. So you need to grow strong..." *she grabs his chin lifting his head* "please... For your mom..."

Ray looked into Gaia's face, for a few moments, before sniffing. He sat upright. "You're right. I need to be strong. A..A big boy...Just like she said."

"Good" *she says in a soft quiet voice usually how she always sounds* "ok so let's go check from a closer perspective.. Shall we..?"

Ray stood up, and ducked behind Gaia. "A-After you, miss."

"Come.." *she informs to jacob and Ray and continues to walk*

*A Few months later The Ranger establishes a army of Marked Men And Outcasts making a huge faction called "The Patriots"*

*she looks at Jacob* "hey what was the thing you wanted to join?"

For the months that passed, Ray followed the Ranger and Gaia to New Vegas, where he parted with them. At that point he became a sort of gun-for-hire. He didn't shoot people, he did tasks that others thought were menial; courier jobs, fetch, et cetera. He heard the denizens talking of 'The Patriots', and wondered who they were. He just finished a courier run to Primm, and thought he'd investigate the Patriots. After a few days of walking, he found himself standing outside the Patriot compound. He stood in awe, waiting for someone to open the gate.

*The soldiers clad in old world riot armour are in the compound they have the flag of the common wealth on their backs three eventually let ray in before rising the common wealth flag over the base*

"Well yeah I could help..." *she says quietly*

Ray walked in, slowly spinning around, taking in the base. He tripped over one of the sandbag bays, and sat in the ground. "Owwie...I need to watch where I'm going." Ray stood up, dusting himself off.

"You ok Ray" *she says in a calm voice with a oft voice*

Ray turned, and saw Gaia. "Steel Lady! I haven't seen you in a...a long time!" He ran over to her, and hugged her. "I missed you!"

*surprised her eyes widen* "Uh thanks...." *she still says in a light voice wasn't much of a talker*

"What are you up to?" *she ask curiously*

Ray stepped back. "I've been doing stuff for people. Finding things, running things, all kinds of things. Umm...but I kept hearing about the Patriots...and I got curious." He looked at Gaia. "Did you get curious, too?"

"Um not really I already know what they are..." *she says looking about*

Ray blinked. "D-Do you...run them? Are you like their leader?" He sat down in the dirt, and looked up at Gaia.

*she shook her head* "nah, the ranger is... I'm thinking about joining though..."

Ray blinked. "Mr. Ranger? I thought he was with the bear people."

"Nope... Well I don't think so.." *she says twirling her gun around*

Fox was happy, he was finally out do something that was important. He was going to go make official contact with the super mutants at Jacobstown. He went along his way, wary of any NCR patrols.

Ray shrugged, and drew pictures in the dust. "Oh...w-well, is there anything I can do? I'm boooorred."

"How about I teach you how to fight and shoot for protection purposes only of course.." *she says standing straight in her black and red armor*

Ray shook his head. "N-No...momma said that fighting's for bad people. She said I should let her friend take care of it." He fiddled with the silver bullet dangling from his neck.

"Ray... You need to learn because if your in trouble and we aren't there you need to help yourself..." *she says worried*

Ray stood, defiantly. Or, rather, as defiantly as his hindered processing capability allowed, which wasn't very defiant at all. "I'm never away from help." He continued toying with the bullet. "Never ever."

*she sighs* "well then.... How about we walk around Vegas for awhile..."

Ray shrugged. "Sounds nice." He stood, waiting for Gaia.

*she began to walk before walking far she yells to ranger* "we're going to Vegas for a bit"

When Fox got to the mountains, he was astonished by the amount of mantises up there. He took and his 9 iron and began to swing happily at the overgrown insects.

*gaia squints seeing a fox fighting mantises* "damn that's a lot..." *she continues to watch the fight*
-
Ray shuttered. "Big bugs." He averted his eyes.
-
After killing the mantises, he leans on his 9-iron and looks at his surroundings. He notices a couple of furs downhill and decides to hurry towards jacobstown.

*gaia stops ray and walks forward a bit putting on her mask making her seem like a male* "stay back Ray, he could be trouble" *she snarled ready for combat*
-
Ray sat down on a rock, and waited. "I-I'll be right here, if you need me."
-
Seeing that the fur with power armor was closing in, fox ducked into a group of bighorners, relying on his ability to calm animals to his advantage.

*gaia groans* "ok let's go Ray doesn't look like he's gonna bothering bothering us" *she starts walking still with Ray trailed behind her*
-
Ray stood, and caught up with Gaia. He walked in silence, keeping a paw on the bullet around his neck.
-
Hmm they seem to just be opportunistic scavengers. I show them to mess with the Khans. *smacks rump of the bighorner bull so that the bull starts to charge at the two furs* I should probably get back to my task then. *starts walking back down the road*

Ray panicked, and yelped. Time slowed, and a guitar riff filled the air. A raccoon, slightly larger than Ray, stepped from the dust storm. He held a cigarette to his lips, and a silver revolver at his side. The stranger sighed, and leveled the revolver off at the bighorner, and fired twice. The animal stumbled, and fell to the dirt, as the stranger faded into the dust. Time sped back up, and Ray blinked.

"The hell!!" *Gaia looks at the bighorner laying down, she looks at Ray* "did you see that blur.?" *she got confused seeing something in one second* "well there goes my kill"

Ray nodded. "It was momma's friend. He never stays around for too long." He let go of the bullet, and pointed at the Khan walking away. "There goes somebody."

Fox looked back expecting to see a dead scavenger, but instead they were both still standing there. Fox starts to run towards jacobstown, realizing the mistake he might have just made.

*gaia with anger* "stay here Ray ima get this punk that tried hurting me..." *she sprint toward the fox eventually catching up she pins him in the floor face first* "woah you not a good runner" *the mask made her sound like a deep voices male furr*

Ray skipped along behind Gaia, and caught up with her as she held the fox.
-
Fox grunts. How about you fight me like a real man? Fist to fist?
-
*she takes off her mask* "heh man to man sorry I'm not a man.." *she chuckles*
-
Ray knelt beside the fox. "We aren't gonna hurt you, mister. My name's Ray." He extended a paw.
-
And I don't like getting tackled into the ground what is your point? And I'm not a fox, just too much time in red rock canyon.

*Two Patriots Rise from the rocks-Both Holding Marksman Carbines,Aiming at the fox*"Soldier 1:A Khan this far out?"

"Well I don't like getting hit by bighorners I've already got hit 17 times... Beside I wasn't harming you.." *she said in a angers tone*

Ray pushed lightly at Gaia. "He doesn't like being on the ground, Steel Lady. Let him go." He leaned against Gaia, trying to move her, but is unsuccessful.

*she sighs getting her hoof off his chest* "fine.." *she says in calm quiet voice. Luckily She was calmed down by Ray*
-
*looks at gaia* Well maybe you shouldn't run at people wearing power armor. *stands up and walks over to the patriots* What are you gonna kill me? just like the innocents at bitter springs? *spits on boots of patriot closest to him*

Ray blinked, and looked at Gaia. "Bittersprings? What happened there?"
-
"bad things happened there.." *she says not wanting to explain to Ray she then looks at Thomas* "and I didn't run to you I ran in front of Ray to protect him.."

Soldier 1:Oh yeah?...at least we aint the khans....you guys have been **censor** over alot
Soldier 2:Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!
*Suddenly the Ranger Pushes the two away from The Fox*
"Ok,Ok give him room soldiers..."

Ray gasped. "Mr. Ranger!" He ran up, and hugged the Ranger.

Sorry about ignoring your paw earlier. *extends own paw to ray* The NCR murdered, no massacred women and children of the Great Khans. The killed my mother. She wouldn't even harm a fly...ah who am i kidding she could go kill a gecko with a shoe if she wanted.

*He pats Ray's Head*"Hello Again Friend"

*Gaia puts her elbow on rays shoulder while she leans relaxing some of her weight on him watching them talk, she silently looks about thinking to herself*

Ray smiled, and released the Ranger, having missed most of what the Khan said. He turned, and grasped the Khan's paw. "Who's NCR, and why did they need shoes?"

Oh whatever, fox said smiling, you don't need to know about old rivalries. Now are you guys done with me? Can I be on my way now?
-
"WAIT,we can retake bitter springs for you guys..."
-
We Khans do not sink as low as the NCR, bitter springs is now an overstuffed refugee camp. There is nothing to take. *Fox starts to walk off*

*she looks at Thomas walk away* "he's right I've seen it... It's pretty bad sir..." *she says to jacob*
-
Ray grabbed Thomas's shoulder. "Wait!" He fished around in his pocket for a moment, before withdrawing the picture of his mother. "Have you seen her?" He showed the picture to Thomas.

Fox intently studied the photo. How long ago was this picture taken?
-
Ray scratched his head. "Umm...maybe a year ago? Momma gave it to me before she left...before she gave me to the Couriers."

I think I might have seen her before...Where exactly did she go? Do you know?
-
Ray shook his head. "She just...left."

*she looks at Ray* "it's probably because she wants you safe..."

Well, if you can get your ranger friend over there to provide me a nice escort, i might be able to get her back to you...

*Gaia sits on a rock daydreaming ignoring the conversation while humming to herself*

*Fox continues on his way to jacobstown* You know where I stay, just don't send a NCR trooper, they might get shot.

*Gaia waves to thomas* "kk see yea" *she stands up* "ranger... Um I ... Me and Ray wanted to know if you want to walk around new Vegas with us??"

Ray sat in the dirt, waiting for Gaia. He fiddled with the silver bullet, and stared at the picture. He whispered to himself. "Where did you go, momma?"

"I Guess...i need to talk to mr house"
-
"Ok... Let's go then" *she smiles then offers a hand to ray* "come on Ray..."
-
*Looks at gaia*"Hey...You look beautiful today"
-
Ray took Gaia's paw, and stood. He rubbed his eyes quickly. "Yeah...let's go."

*her eyes widen and her cheeks burn red* "um.. Uh... Erm..." *she says stuttering then finally saying quietly* "thanks..." *she felt butterfly's in her stomach*

Ray blanched and wandered away from Gaia and the Ranger. "I'll let you two be alone, okay?" He walked towards Jacobstown, not too sure what to do.

*The Ranger takes off his mask kissing gaia*"Youre beautiful when youre shy..."

*she looks at him her ears down shyly then kisses jacob back after a few seconds she puts her mask on hiding her red face* "come on let's go to Vegas..." *she says in a whisper then she catches up to Ray walking a little behind him to protect him in case*

*Puts mask back on and rests anti material rifle on my shoulders*

Ray walked on. He just wandered around, not too sure what to do. Ray didn't realize Gaia and the Ranger were following, and just kept wandering.

*she looks back at ranger* "you coming?"

*He looks at his pipboy with a clearly surprised expression*"Pittsburg?....Washington D.C...?" *He looks at the long 15 a road to both locations*

*gaia hears Pittsburg, and Washington D.C., immediately stops walking back to him* "what's that??" *she asked confusedly looking at him*

"Two places my grandfather explored...hmm..."

"Are you going to explore them as well?" *she looks at the paths that furrs can take to travel to Washington or pittsburg*
-
"I must...either you two can stay here or come with me..."
-
"Well I haven't been to either of those places for long time so I will follow"
-
Ray stopped, and looked at the Ranger worriedly. "I've heard about Pittsburg. Some of the older Couriers were talkin' 'bout it. Said it was a bad place. Lots of ticky-ness."

"Well *Begins Walking*If you think that is bad we could go to,ugh...Point lookout"
-
"Seems good.." *she continues to walk with him*

Ray shrugged. "None of the Couriers talk about Point Lookout. So I guess we could go..."
-
Fox finished his negotiations with the super mutants early and caught up to the trio riding a bighorner. "Where are you three going?"
-
"Somewhere.." *she says still walking not looking at him*
-
Ray spoke as he turned to Fox. "We're going toooo....." His mouth hung open, and a smile crept across his face. "C-C-C-C-C-COWBOY!"
-
Careful he bites sometimes! Do you wanna ride ray?

"Were Going to the capital wasteland"*Looks at Ray*"..."
-
Ray kept his head pointed at the ground, and he approached slowly, his paws clutched to his chest. "C-Could I?"
-
So you three are going to Washington then? Do you have room for another? I mean ill have to clear it with papa, but he is always open to new areas to live in...*hops off bighorner* Come here ray, ill help you get on.

Ray stepped up sheepishly to the side of the bighorner. "O-Okay..."
-
Fox leans up next to the bighorners ear and whispered into it. "Okay ray, now put your foot in my paw and jump up onto the bighorner. If you feel like you are gonna fall over, grab his horns for stability, but don't yank on them. Okay? 3....2....1....up ya go!"

Ray hopped up onto the bighorner, and sat, feeling ecstatic. "H-How do I make it go?"
-
"Hehe silly im not going to let you ride off on a wild bighorner all by yourself, if i left, he would be bucking you off in a second." Fox gracefully hops up onto the bighorner behind ray. "If you guys don't mind, I'm gonna take ray off on a ride to see papa. "

"Yea just be careful.." *she says in a little worried expression*

"Don't worry ill be careful. Wont we ray?" Fox spurs the bighorner to do a circle "and besides you two seem pretty close, you might need some alone time..." Fox spurs the bighorner into a fast trot.

*she sighs* "okay..." *she keeps walking beside the ranger humming to herself*
-
Fox returns to the two, with a beaming ray sitting in front of him. "Well papa gave me permission to go."
-
"That's good" *she says quietly almost like a whisper continues to walk with her motionless face*
-
Fox pulls out a stick and pokes gaia. "Whats up with you?"
-
"Nothing... Just walking I guess...." *she gets annoyed grabs the stick and throws it but her face doesn't show her emotion she looks very calm like always*
-
Ray slid sideways from the bighorner, hitting the dirt with a thud. He picked himself up quickly, and walked beside Gaia.
-
Fox drew the bighorner next to gaia. "Now come on, i can tell that something is wrong."
-
"Nothing's wrong I just don't like being poked..." *she says... she then whispers very quietly* "I'm ticklish.."
-
"oh so you are? I might just have fun with that information." Fox smiles and spurs the bighorner to move out about 20 feet in front of the group.
-
"If you even touch me I will snap your arm.." *she says snarling for her first time. She was insecure and didn't really like others touching her*
-
"What was that? I couldn't quite hear you." Fox said from the front
-
*she ignores him hoping he doesn't tickle her* "nothing" *she groaned while walking slightly behind the ranger, she looks at him curiously wonder what he's name could be or what should she call him for short* "hmmm"
-
"Hey gaia, do you wanna ride on this thing?" Fox says as he turns back to see gaia looking intently at the ranger. "Or are you too busy looking at the beautiful landscape?"
-
*her eyes widen* "what no!!! I..." *she blushes in embarrassment hoping the ranger didn't know what he was talking about*
-
"Haha, i got you. I have to admit though, I'm sure it is quite the view from back there." Fox spots a small herd of Brahmin in the distance. "Hey there are some brahmin over there, i'm thinking that we could use a couple of them as pack animals and the rest for dinner. What do you guys think?"
-
*Trips before looking at the brahmin*"Ah...Why not?"
-
*Gaia gets one of her guns out and aims at the brahmin* "so can we shoot?" *she says as her gun warms up making a odd noise and blue light glows from it*
-
"Woah, slow down there. I'm gonna go over there and select the stronger brahmin for pack animals." Fox walks over and starts to walk about the herd.
-
"Fine..." *she waits silently waiting to hunt one down*
-
Fox grabs two of the brahmin by their horns and drags them off to the side. *RANGE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS GAIA*
-
*her gun aims at the horde of Brahmins making a loud laser like noise it hits one making it fall and the skin to disintegrate leaving the meat and fat as the others run off gaia continues to shoot, after awhile ther was five dead and the four left ran off*
-
Fox leads the two brahmin back to the group. "Nice shooting gaia!"
-
"Thanks.." *she walks over to a a hill that was flat at the top setting up camp as the sun slowly went down* "ima set up camp..." *she began to set the fire up and sleeping bags*
-
Fox ties the two brahmin to the bighorners rack. "Ima go and find a couple more of those brahmin. We kinda needed the skin to make leather. I guess i should have mentioned that."
-
"Oops.." *she says quietly while putting her sleeping bag down she then lies down on the sleeping bag relaxing herself while the meat cooked above the fire*
-
Fox walks off into the darkness making a strange noise. "Ill be back"
-
Ray sat, watching the fire. He blinked, before looking up. "Mister Cowboy? Where'd you go?"
-
"Mister cowboy went to do some work.." *she smiles putting her paws over the fire*
-
Ray stood. "He shouldn't be 'lone! It's dark out! Mister Cowboy!" He walked into the dark, waiting for his eyes to adjust.
-
"Please be careful Ray..." *she says worriedly*
-
*A quiet low growl is heard on the other side of the camp, along with sounds of a small struggle and something being dragged along the ground*
-
*gaia quickly puts her mask on with night vision and running in the dark seeing something drag a body* "the hell??"
-
"HI GAIA!" Fox starts to waves his hand in the air, while being dragged by a protectron.
-
"What is happening?" *she says confused*
-
"Not really sure, this guy found me and he said he must take me to his master. He's been dragging me for about 10 minutes or so. Do you wanna come with?"
-
Ray walked up, and sat at the fire. "I didn't find the cowboy."
-
"No I don't want to come with!" *she punches the protectron pulling fox up* "are you some idiot!!?"
-
Ray looked up, and jumped on the robot, pulling it to the ground. He giggled, as it fought to stand.
-
"Oh come on, where is your sense of adventure?" Fox dusts himself off.
-
"Adventure!? More like suicide?!" *she shoots the robot and walks over to the camp spot laying down* "ughh do all men act like this..." *she says with a Irritated tone*
-
"What?"*The ranger diverts his attention to gaia*
-
Fox throws a pebble at gaia. "oh come on, you know that you like having us around."
-
"Sorry I didn't mean to say that I'm just really annoyed with you guys... I don't want you guys getting hurt, it would break my heart to see my friends hurt" *she says in a sigh* "and yes I like having you all around so please be more aware of what your doing.."
-
Fox walks over to where gaia is sitting down and crouches next to her. "I am quite aware of the dangers, and you need to stop worrying so much."
-
"Your right your right I need to stop worrying.." *she says still watching the fire making it reflect in her eyes*
-
Fox pokes gaia's side and rolls backward so that she can't grab him.
-
"Hehaha... STOP IT!" *she yells at him trying to grab but he rolls of still watching her* "ass."
-
"Bwahahaha." Fox smiled and stuck his tounge out at her.
-
Ray opened the back of the protectron, and began pulling at wires. He opened the access panel, and began recoding the robot. It beeped and groaned, before Ray set it upright. The robot began to do a very mechanical hokey-pokey.

Fox got up and went to his bedroll and laid down. "Thats pretty impressive ray, where'd you learn to do that?"
-
Ray looked up at Fox. "Oh...back when I was still in the vault, momma said I had a...a...tail-ant...for robots. She made me go see the Overseer, and he had me work with them. I learned all kinds of things." The robot shuffled off, still dancing. "She said I was special, and I knew lots about math...and robot-talk."
-
"Hmm thats pretty cool. Hey could you bring that robot back here and reprogram him so that he watches over us while we sleep?"
-
*gaia walks behind a rock taking her armor off and revealing the scars while she wears her shorts and tank top also making her seem very skinny since the male armor made her body seem way bigger. She then walks out sitting down reading a book about weapons, armors and the creatures and tips to help her kill them*
-
Ray jogged after the bot, and opened the access panel. After a few moments, he returned, the protectron following him. He sat, and spoke up. "Jeremiah, defend here." The bot beeped, and scanned the area.
-
"Jeremiah, huh what made you think of that name ray?"
-
Ray pointed at the protectron. "He wanted it. It was in the...the talk."
-
"Ok, you are the interpreter. As long as Jeremiah does his job, he is a good robot." Fox rolls over falls asleep.
-
Ray nodded, and pulled his knees to his chin. After a few moments, he too fell asleep.

*gaia still awake reads the book sometimes looks at the stars*
-
Fox stands up and yawns. "The sunrise is really beautiful this morning." Fox begins to make a breakfast of brahmin cooked with some banana yucca.
-
*Gaia still sleeps with the book on her face* "stop.." *she sometimes talks when she's sleeping*
-
Fox throws a pebble at gaia. "Hey breakfast is almost ready."
-
"Mmmmkay.." *she says sleepily then sits up*
-
Fox puts a piece of brahmin with banana yucca on a plate and hands it to gaia. "Hope ya like my cooking."
-
"Thank you." *she grabs her plate and begins eating the food after a few minutes she was done she then plopped on the floor* "I stayed up way to late.."
-
"What were your reading?" Fox asks while he eats his food.
-
"Tips..." *she says In a soft voice* (gtg for a while)
-
A figure was walking alon the cracked highway, a dusty hooded trench-coat on his shoulders, the hood obscuring his face. In his hands was an old military sniper rifle, and on his back, an NCR-issue service rifle. He pauses for a moment, scanning the horizon with his .308 rifle. He noticed a small camp of travelers, cooking breakfast.
'What the hell' he decided 'a little company can be good.'

*Gaia still in her shorts and tank top stands quickly seeing the random furr* "great..."
-
Fox continues to eat. "Hey you over there, do you want to have some fresh-cooked food?"
-
Ray woke, and looked about sleepily. He saw that Jeremiah had powered down, so Ray stood, and opened the access panel of the protectron. Ray emitted idle beeping noises, as he played around with the circuitry.
-
"Here ya go ray, eat up." Fox hands ray a plate of food.
-
Ray finished with Jeremiah, and the bot began singing a tune. Ray took the food, and ate a little. "Thank you, mister Cowboy."
-
"Food would be nice." He rasps "how much?"
He proceeds to remove his backpack, place it on the floor, and rummage through it for caps
-
"You are welcome ray. Do you want to keep riding on the bighorner or do you want to walk?" Fox cleans the dust off of his clothes and stands up. "If you tell us a story about yourself, consider it free. Otherwise, it'll be 15 caps."
-
"Ignore him were not asking for caps..." *she looks at fox with a mad expression* "be nice.."
-
Ray shook his head. "I gots ta keep an eye on Jeremiah. He's unstable."
-
"What are you looking at gaia?" Fox pokes gaia's side
-
"Hahah!!! STOP!!! Poking me!" *she pushes him causing him to roll down the hill. She gets up* "I'm going to walk for a bit.." *she gets in her armor and walks off, after a couple minutes a deathclaw approaches her slashing his claws at her* "censor!!" *she shoots at it helplessly unable to get out of its attack*

Ray stood, hearing the gunshots, and wandered after Gaia, paw on the silver bullet. Jeremiah trudged behind him, weapons readied. "Steel Lady?"
-
Fox stands back up and dusts himself off. He walks back up the hill and fixes a plate for the stranger. "Oh, now the girl got herself into trouble." Fox picks up his hunting rifle and walks with ray.

*The deathclaw roars showing its teeth and throwing Her. Gaia gets up seeing no one watching her, Gaias eyes glow neon blue, when she touches her gun it glows as if she was controlling it making a huge beem as it shot across the wasteland hitting the death claw making it disintegrate quickly leaving nothing but ashes*
-
Ray blinked, and rubbed his eyes. He had seen the entire scene from behind a rock.
-
Fox hears the distinct sound of energy weapon. "Oh she is fine, that gun of hers could kill a deathclaw." Fox begins to walk back towards camp.
-
"Hmmp" *she grabs her knife. It then glows neon blue she throws it in the air and catches it after a couple tosses she turns back to normal and puts her grey steal knife away* "We need to start traveling soon" *She says to herself before walking off back to the camp as if nothing happened* "ok I'm back I just had to calm myself for a bit.." *her voice was peaceful and quiet voice while sharpening her knife*

Ray ducked behind the rock, and Jeremiah covered his 'face', still standing upright.

*seeing Jeremiah she looks at him with with her eyes glowing bright neon blue making her pupils disappear, a threat not to tell the others her eyes change back, she then sits down cleaning up* "We should start traveling now, if we do we will get there by sunset."

Jeremiah shuttered and started wandering back to camp. Ray, struck with fear, stayed behind the rock.
-
The hooded man had left at the first hint of a deathclaw. He saw how Gaia killed it. He decided that he should come back. With weapons like that, he wants to stay with them!
"How much would it be to go wherever you're going? Preferably with you guys." His voice is raspy, but loud. Like he had smoked his share of cigarettes.

"Ah don't worry about it I'll pay I got lots of money another reason why I'm the most wanted furr in the world" *She says in a sigh then looks up* "hey? Why are you all acting sorta weird..." *she looks at each one of them curiously*
-
The sun had started to set, and Ray had yet to return. Jeremiah had arrived at the camp a few hours prior, without Ray.
-
"We're Ray.... RAY!!!?" *she gets up looking around for him*
-
"We should probably go look for Ray." Fox looked at gaia and the stranger. "Any objections?"
-
*she looks at Ray still hiding behind a rock* "FOUND HIM!!!" *she kneels down looking at Ray concerned* "are you ok??" *she puts her hand slowly and softly on his shoulder trying not to startle him*
-
"Now" the stranger goes "I think some introductions are in order. You guys first."
-
"Well that was quick. I guess ill start dinner." Fox starts to cook dinner. "Names Thomas, but the Khans call me Fox. Call me either one, or something else as long as I'm okay with it."

((Gah! Thomas is MY name!))

Fox puts the brahmin steaks in the pan over the fire, reheating them to eat. "For example, ray over there, calls me mister cowboy."
-
"I'll just call you thomas. I had a friend named that once." He nods at Gaia and Ray, as if to say 'continue'
-
Ray had remained perfectly still, until Gaia touched his shoulder. He jumped, and scrambled over the rock. After a few moments, he peeked over the rock. "O-Oh...H-Hi...S-Sorry...I was scared."
-
"Please don't be scared... I know you saw but I would never hurt you... I promise" *she smiles putting her paw out* "come on the group is worrying about you.."
-
The stranger tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for them to get back.
-
He took Gaia's paw cautiously. "O-Okay..." He stood slowly, toying with the silver bullet.
-
"If your ever get in trouble Just count to 3 and I will be there." *they arrive at the camp sight. Gaia kneels down packing things up* "we need to hurry if we want to go to Washington.." *she continues to pack*
-
Ray nodded shakily, and began reprogramming Jeremiah for a long trek.
-
Fox finishes cooking the steak and sets plates in front of everyone. "So are we going to just leave after dinner or are we going to leave in the morning?"
-
"After dinner. although it will be dangerous, but we will be fine..." *she grabs a plate and begins to eat the steak*
-
"Whatever you say." Fox starts to eat his steak and pack up his things.
-
Ray crossed a few wires, and yelped, as the electrical shock wracked his body. He dropped to both knees, holding his paw.

"Hey you okay ray?" Fox walks over to ray and puts his paw on his shoulder.
-
*After her meal she walks to jacob* "ah did the wires zap you by mistake??"
-
The stranger walks up to ray at a saunter.
"Feh." He goes "unless you're burnt, you're fine."
-
Ray's teeth chattered, as he held up his paw. His fingertips were blackened, and some of the fur on his paw and arm were white. "Y-Y-Yes. I just c-c-crossed the wrong wires." He bit his lip, holding back a sob, as tears rolled down his face.

*she grabs his paw* "shhhh you'll be alright" *she grabs a plant next to her rubbing it on his fingers* "there in a bit they will feel better.."
-
Fox crouches down and leans ray into his shoulder. "Does the plant make the pain go away?"
-
The stranger sighs, pulling out a stimpack "gloves'll help ya next time. Like rubber or somethin'." The stranger them proceeds to walk up to ray, moving to help him.

Ray fell back, and scooted away from the stranger. "N-No! No needles!"

The stranger emits an angry grunt, and proceeds to say "look, you're looking at permanent nerve damage. A stimpack is practically the only way you could fix that. It won't even hurt!"

"How about this ray, Ill let you ride the bighorner all by yourself and ill even let you wear my hat. As long as you take the shot. How does that sound?"

Ray nodded, cautiously, and shut his eyes tight. He held out his charred paw, shaking slightly. "F-Fine..."

(Gaia is from vault 13 she was kicked out when she was 16 and now she is 20 known as the most wanted furr because she kills, steals to survive. She has a deep secret that know one knows except Ray and the people she's kill.. It's a power she contains)

"Alright then," the stranger coos "this won't hurt a bit."
He goes behind him, rolls up his sleeve, injects him with the stimpack, and depresses the plunger. You don't even feel it.

Ray flinched at the initial puncture of the stimpack, but he relaxed a few seconds later. "T-Thanks."

Fox takes off his hat and sets it on ray's head. "There ya go, just like I promised."

Ray took the hat off, and handed it back. "No...I gotta be strong." He stood shakily, holding his paw.

Fox stood up and put the hat back on ray. "A promise is a promise ray. We all need help sometimes."

Ray sniffed, and nodded. "I can't ride the thing...though...Jeremiah would get upset."

"Hmm well since you can't ride the bighorner, i guess that hat is yours now." Fox pats ray on the shoulder and finishes packing up his stuff, pulling out a faded white and navy blue ball cap with a blue star on it. "There it is, my other hat." Fox puts on the other hat and goes back to eating.

"You two." He nods at Ray and Gaia "I don't believe I've been introduced. I don't like to go first."

Ray waved his hand. "I-I'm Ray."

"Gaia" *she mumbles not comfortable to say her name often*

Fox cleans up the plates and puts them in a pack on one of the brahmin. He then walks over to gaia and pokes her in the side. "You know, its kinda rude to mumble."

"Haha... Stop poking me!!" *her eyes glow neon blue* "I AM GAIA!! How's that!" *she says snarling*

"Haha much better. We should probably get going if we are going to make any progress before the sun rises." Fox walks back towards the brahmin, purposely smacking gaia with his tail when he turned.

*her eyes go normal calming herself by breathing in and out*

"I guess it's my turn now."
He pulls back his hood,pulls down his shemagh, and slides his biker's goggles to the top of his head. You see a tan fox who seems old, with long, unkempt whiskers.He seems to radiate an aura of calmness.
"The name's jack. No last name. Haven't earned one yet."

Fox checks the sacks and bags on the brahmins and scratched their ears. "Nice to meet you jack!" Fox walks from the brahmin to the bighorner. "When we get on the road, how about we all swap a few stories?"

"Sure." He says, walking along "I've got a few to tell."

Fox checks on the ropes on the bighorner and jumps up on its back. "And i got a few to tell myself. "

Ray pressed his fingers together. "I don't have stories...my momma never told me any." He stood, and walked beside Jeremiah, who trudged along in a normal, protectron fashion.

"You could tell us stories of things that you have delivered. Or you could make one up."

"Well, I'll go first. Ya wanna know how I got this rifle?" He goes, giving his rifle a slight toss as if to indicate it.

Ray peered at it for a moment. "Did...did I deliver it?" He recalled having delivered quite a few Gun Runners shipments, when the caravans were being hunted.

"Heh."jack chuckles "I don't think you did. But you could've delivered it to the guy I got it from!"

Ray blinked, confused. "What?"

*she walks far back behind the others thinking to herself*

Ray watched Gaia walk back, and followed her. He fiddled with his paws, worriedly. "Are...are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine.. Just thinking about things.."

Ray sat beside her, staring out at the horizon. "I think about things too..."

*she gets up walking* "come on the group is waiting let's start moving." *she gets up and runs over next to the ranger* "I... I need to tell you something...?" *she says in a quiet and nervous voice*

Ray ran up next to Fox, and walked beside him. "Do you think about things, mister Cowboy?"

Fox looks down at ray and smiles. "Well who doesn't think about things? I'm kinda wondering how many pokes it takes for gaia to lose her temper."

Ray held up six fingers, as Jeremiah trudged up behind him. "I think six."

"Hehe well i guess ill poke her five times then. So what do you think about ray?"

*they stop finally arriving at Washington. Gaia looks at the ranger* "maybe I will tell you later.." *she says while butterfly's fill her stomach still afraid to tell him. She turns around* "we're here" *as she starts to walk. she then gets surrounded by 5 assassins pointing their weapons* "damn.." *she raises her paws as her eyes begin to turn neon blue as well as her claws,teeth, hooves, and horns*

Jack, having stayed a fair distance behind the group, saw the assassins, and opened fire on them. His first shot hit one square in the head. His second hit was to his chest, likely killing him. By the time he had gotten off his third shot, they had already begun to dive for cover, and jack had only hit him in the arm.

*Gaia's eyes, claws, hooves, and horns were now neon blue she takes out her two pistols starting to shoot while walking slowly toward the men* "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU.... YOU'LL NEVER WIN!!" *she kicks one of the assassins in the face with her left hoof causing him to fly and the other she shoots with her pistols until his body was filled with blue bullets that burnt the flesh*

(This was before they got to Washington, while Ray was talking with Fox)Ray shrugged. "How the tumbleweeds dance, why are the mountain people so tall. Sometimes I think about why people so mean...sometimes they call me names...I don't know what they mean, but it hurts." He sighed, and leaned against Jeremiah. "That's why I like robots. They aren't ever mean."
(Now)
Ray ducked behind whatever he could find for cover, covered his eyes, and curled up, hoping to be ignored.

Fox slid off his bighorner and tried to keep him and the brahmin calm.

Ray took a deep breath, and cautiously held onto the silver bullet, but nothing happened. Ray drew his empty handgun, and threw it aside, hoping the assassins wouldn't attack him. He called out for the protectron "Jeremiah! Help! I'm scared!" The robot trudged along, before getting riddled with gunfire, malfunctioning, and dropping to the floor, smoke pouring from the heat vents.

*after a few minutes dead bodies cover her path* "I feel no pity for you stupid assassins..." *she stands up straight as her neon parts go to their original color* "it's all clear.."

"Good, i thought these guys were gonna run off. Are you okay ray?"

Ray had covered his eyes after the stranger had not appeared. He shook violently, and a small graze bled on his right shoulder. Ray, so frightened by the sudden violence, had locked up, and couldn't move or respond.

*she gets up walking* "come on the group is waiting let's start moving." *she gets up and runs over next to the ranger* "I... I need to tell you something...?" *she says in a quiet and nervous voice*
"Tell me...what are you hiding love?"

*her eyes widen and quickly responds* "what... Oh um, erm" *she whispers* "I l-like you a uh a lot" *her ears go down shyly*

"What do you mean?"

*she kisses him* "that's what I mean..."

*He blushes before nodding and nervously looking forward*

*finally getting that out of the way the butterflies in her stomach disappear* "a-also I can help you get into.. The house.." *she says while walking by his side as they walk around in Washington*

"Thats a bit cryptic...what do you mean?"

Ray pulled himself together a few minutes after the group left. He looked around, fear in his eyes. He barely spoke above a whisper. "G-Guy's? H-Hello?" Ray sat up, and pulled his knees to his chin. He sobbed, as he thought. Left...again! Jeremiah's gone. And now I'm alone in a strange place, no weapon, no food, and no direction. To Ray, the sounds of the wasteland seemed particularly scary, as he pulled himself tighter together.

"The thing you wanted to join... Righ?" *she responded*

"I Left that in new vegas hun...bu-*A Deathclaw alpha male cuts me square In the chest,causing me to get on his knees in pain*

*she stops her eyes glowing she stand in front of the ranger. She gets slashed once on the stomach making her armor reveal her belly* "dammit.." *she shoots the deathclaw multiple times util shooting the head making the male death claw brain burn as the bullet entered its head causing the death claw to collapse while drooling blood at saliva* "are you ok?!"

*Spits blood before pointing at approach enclave who shoot gaias armour and then her helmet,there are 19 of them*

*shooting her she falls on her knees absorbing energy but still taking damage and making a strong wind pressure to push them all back. she gets up weakly her eyes were now lighter then before showing that she was weak. She kneels over the ranger covering him before getting shot in the shoulder blade as the bullet zaps her causing her to scream in pain and fall unconscious*

Fox finds ray sitting and sobbing. "Ray... Fox sits down next to ray and puts an arm around him. Hey hey I'm here its gonna be ok."

Ray looked up, tears in his eyes. "Why do they always leave me?"

"Sometimes people get so focused on one thing, they just forget about things." Fox takes out a handkerchief and wipes away ray's tears. "Are you okay to look for someplace to hole up in?"

*gaia wakes up still struggling her pupils were gone only showing her neon eyes she screams making an explosion making the men around her evaporate except for the ranger and the others that hid*

Ray looked at Fox. "It's not just them." He sniffed. "I always get left behind. Every group I've ever gone with, they always say that I can't help, or I'm not smart enough." Ray looked back down at the ground. "I ask them why, and then they call me that name...and run away." He sniffed again. "They always do that..."

*The enclave throws a EMP grenade causing gaia energy and armour to weaken extremely*

"What do they call you ray?" Fox takes out a bandage and puts it on ray's arm.

*her eyes go back to grey and she falls on the floor onto her knees as the men run to her cuffing her up and picking her up by the arm and pushing her forward and one of the men say* "we are gonna be rich with this one!!! Haha!!"

"GET THE **censor** AWAY FROM HER!!!..."*He yells before getting hit in the head,knocking him out*

Ray blinked. "Umm...umm...I..." He checked each of his pockets, before retrieving a small, folded paper, which had 'Hello, My name is: RAYLEONARDE' written on it. "Momma gave this to me, before she left."

*they continue to push her along the path while her hooves dragged along the floor finally arriving at the jail they put on special magnet cuffs covering both of her paws and attaches onto the wall making her hang there helplessly and one man walks in punching her making her spit blood after a couple hard hits*

"Thats a very nice name, but ray is much shorter and easier isn't it?" Fox's ears perk up hearing a noise that he has heard stories about. "I wonder who that might be..." Fox stands up and sees a vertibird lift off and fly towards the north. "Oh that can't be good thats an enclave vertibird. Who would've thought that they had forces all the way out here...Ray we need to go look for the others...Are you okay to move?"

Ray grabbed his empty handgun, holstered it, and stood. "Yes...*sniff* I'm fine."

Fox mutters to himself while getting a gun that looked like a toy out of his duffel bag. "Never thought id have to use this thing...so much destruction" Fox leads ray and the animals toward the smell of burnt flesh.

Ray followed along. After a few moments he spoke. "Who are the 'On-cave'?"
-
"The enclave consider themselves the remnant of the american government. I don't know what they're goals are but, they aren't the nicest bunch." Fox slowed down and held a finger to his lips. The smell was getting stronger.

Ray covered his mouth and nose, as they continued forward.

Fox peeked around a corner and saw a dead alpha male death claw lying next to the ranger. About 20 feet behind the ranger was about a dozen enclave soldiers standing under a partially collapsed building. "Ray, can I count on you to do an important task?"

Ray nodded cautiously. "W-What is it?"
-
*they continue to punch Gaia after a good 30 minutes of beating they leave her and one male lion stays to watch over her*
lion:"hehe like always I'm left with the pretty girls.." *he grows a cocky smile at her and gets closer*

Sometimes, the best strategy for survival is to run the hell away. Jack, having lived in the Nevada wasteland for years, was well aquatinted with this fact.
He sees two figures, quite obviously not in the black-clad metal armor of whoever the hell those people are. So he looked at them through his scope, and he saw ray and Fox a little while Down the street he was on. He decided that he might as well join up with them. More numbers means more guns, right?

Ray's ear twitched, and he looked directly back at Jack, with the feeling of being watched. He didn't see Jack, though. "Erm...mister Cowboy? We're being watched."

*as the lion finally got close gaia bit his neck absorbing energy after a couple minutes he falls to the floor and gaia spits out his blood* "censor!!"

"Oh that is just great. Well we can deal with that after we finish these guys off. Ok, I need you to act like you are really hurt and go ask those guys for help."

Ray nodded, and worked himself to tears. He walked towards the group of soldiers, aping a limp, and holding his leg. He called out pitifully. "Help! Help me, please!"

The enclave soldiers move out from under the building. Fox aims the gun slightly in front of the soldiers at the ground. "I really hope this works.." Fox pulls the trigger and waits.

Ray felt the blood freeze in his veins, as the soldiers walked out. They know I'm faking it. Why did Fox put me out here? Did...did he want me to die? He closed his eyes, waiting for the soldiers.

*A ray of light descended from the clouds and incinerated the dozen enclave soldiers.* Fox let out a sigh "Its okay ray, its all over now."

Ray sighed, and ran over to Fox, light burns on his nose and ears. "I...I thought you were gonna leave me."

"Ho-lee shiet!"Jack goes, having seen the whole exchange. Jack, having abandoned all pretenses of stealth, just plain gets up an walks over to fox and ray
"The hell was that?"

*Gaia pulls herself up to the cuffs biting the chip on the side which controlled the magnetic attraction making herself fall back down in relief* "ok now I got to get out of here..."

"I would never leave you ray.." Fox embraces ray in a hug. "I promise." Fox lets go of ray and turns to face jack. "That was one of my secrets. I have many of those."

"Look, " jack says "if you can call down the frigging wrath of god, I want to know how!"
-
"Look here pal. I don't like talking about some things and thats that. If you don't want to respect that you can stand over there and ill use it on you." Fox walks off towards the unconscious ranger.

*gaia Rams into the bars trying to break loose* "dammit!!" *she notices the keys on the counter and reaches her tail out to kick them over to her* "come on..!"

"Oh!" He scoffs, incredulous "did you just threaten me?" He gives a snarl, and raises his rifle, aiming it squarely at Thomas's head.

Ray blinked, and ran between Fox and Jack, his arms spread wide. "Don't! No fighting! We're friends!"
-
*gaia hits the Keys on the floor reaching out to them until a bull stomped on her arm* "ahhh!!!"
Bull: "little censor!!!" *he grabs her arm and punches her face causes her to fall back in the cell with her nose bleeding* "your not ever leaving!!!! Haha you are so much money!! You think it's that easy haha!" *he sits on the chair watching her*
*she closes her eyes slowly as she passes out* "uuhh.."

"Outta my my way, little sh*t" he snarls, roughly shoving him in the direction of Fox

Ray, dazed from the push, stood back up shakily. He held his arms at his sides, and slouched forward slightly. He looked at Jack. "N-No...w-we're friends...r-remember?"

"Feh..." He grunts, grinning sardonically "don't need friends. All they do is get ya killed."
-
Ray stood his ground, but swayed slightly. The blast from earlier, coupled with being pushed to the ground, had given him a nasty headache, and a touch of shell shock. "N-No...friends...help each other."

"Heh" he chuckles "you haven't lived very long, I'm assuming. 'Friends' tie you down. 'Friends' betray you. 'Friends' get other friends killed.
'Friends ain't worth sh*t!" He is snarling, more so than before. Something Is behind his anger, other than the current situation.

Fox reaches the unconscious ranger and starts to pull him back towards the group.

A tear fell from Ray's eye, as he stared down the barrel of the gun. He held his shoulder, where he got grazed. "Y-You've had some bad friends...W-We aren't like them."

He lifts his heard back, as if to laugh, but instead just blows air out of his nose. He then blinks for an abnormal span of time, and then appears to have simmered down.
"Sorry." He goes lowering his rifle "bad things happened with the last thomas I knew."

Ray staggered up to Jack, and hugged him. "It's...it's okay...I...I understand."

Not really knowing how to reply to a hug, he just pats him on the head and says "thanks."

Ray sighed, and stepped back. "Y-You...y-you're welcome..." He sat on the ground, his head swimming.

Fox picked up the ranger and set him on the back of the bighorner. "Now I think that gaia is being held in that building over there. Are you going to come help get her out?"

*gaia yells as her eyes glow filling the room with blue light* "censor!!! I will censor you up!!!!" *the cuffs begin to steam*
Bull:"well they did say dead or alive.. I guess it's Time we put you down.." *he smiles while pointing the gun at her head and the other men follow his lead*
Gaia:*she smiles* "go on. SHOOT ME!!!!"

( with Gaia) You hear a distinctly snobbish voice chime in "no, don't. Toss an EMP grenade in there." A red fox, in an enclave officer's uniform walks up to her cell. His name tag reads "Cpt. Stephens" "that worked last time. She killed plenty of our guys. Make sure to kill her slow."

"Oh a bomb would be pleasant...." *her eyes glow brighter facing Stephen looking straight into his eyes waiting*

Ray looked up, and tried to stand. He swayed slightly. "I-I'm ready."
-
"And what say you Jack? Are you ready?" Fox takes out his cowboy repeater and loads it.
-
"No..." He says, reading her face, and seeing the neon blue in her eyes "starve her. Destroy the key to this cell and have it welded shut." He pauses for a moment, giving a cocky grin " your plasma rifle should do for the welding, Sgt. Carson. Use it on the keys too."

*still smiling she sits* "heh what a coward... Starving a lady.."
-
"Starving a lady that killed twenty of our own." He corrects
-
Ray blinked, and staggered around. He reached the corpses of the unincinerated soldiers, and took whatever explosives they had, along with any keys and cards. He came back, and began combining the explosives, into a makeshift, high-yield breaching charge. He put it on his hip, and looked at Fox and Jack. "I...I just feel like we'll need it." He blinked, as his vision went fuzzy.

"Mmhhm..." *she mumbles* "coward" *and sits facing the wall her eyes go back to green*
-
"Sergeant." He says "do it."
The bull then proceeds to fire his rifle at the keys, the green arc turning them into a steaming hot greenish goop. He then does the same to the lock, effectively welding it shut.

(Without Gaia)
"Feh." Jack goes " that's about as likely to blow you up as it is them."
-
Ray ignored Jack, and started walking in the direction the of the Enclave base, following the footprints of the soldiers. He dropped to one knee, as his vision blurred again, wretching as his head pounded.

"Ray..." He goes, placing a hand on his shoulder "you don't look so good. You sure you're okay?"
-
Ray looked up at Jack, his eyes bloodshot. He blinked, as three Jacks spun around. "Y-Yes...I'm tough...a...a big boy...like what Gaia...said." He stood, and staggered on.
-
"Are you any good with explosives jack? I don't think that ray can do it." Fox follows rays idea and ductapes two of the enclave rifles together.

((Well, I've got to go to bed. Sorry!))

Ray staggered on, and tripped over one of the Enclave corpses. He laid on the ground, writhing for a moment, digging into the dirt with his paw. "N-No. G-Gaia...needs my h-help. G-Gotta push...push on..."
((No problem, man. Not everyone has the same schedules.))

'Ray its okay..we can't always do everything. Sometimes we need help." Fox grabs ray and drags him over to where the bighorner is.

Ray broke free, and continued moving. "G-Gaia needs us! T-They're gonna kill her!" He started following the footprints, limping now. "We...we just...gotta...find her..." Ray spotted the Enclave outpost, and sighed. He dropped to his knees, and saw the prison area, and the light glow from Gaia.

Fox chases after ray and drags him back to the bighorner. "Ill go save her, you aren't in any shape to be rescuing someone else. Can you give me that bomb of yours?"

Ray shook his head. "I...I can't explain how it works...I gotta do it." He slid from the bighorner, and braced himself against Fox. "I...I gotta do it...I...I just have to..."

"Will it explode if I shoot it?" Fox held up ray.
-
((Umm jacob, you are on the back of the bighorner.))

Ray shook his head. "It...it's special. Only goes one way..." He blinked groggily.

"Hey look the ranger is awake. Hey ranger, do you know anything about explosives?" Fox sets ray back down on the ground.

Ray stood, and moved towards the enclave camp. He noticed that there were only a few guards, and not many people moving inside. He slunk to the side and crept into the prison. He ducked a few guards, and called out quietly. "Gaia?"

"Oh what has that boy gotten himself into?" Fox takes out his shotgun rifle and starts to shoot at the nearest guard.
-
Ray looked into each cell, eventually finding Gaia. He smiled, and set the charge against the door. He put his mouth to the cell bars. "Gaia! If your awake, brace yourself!" He punched a few buttons, and crossed a few wires, before ducking behind a corner, holding his ears to his head. The charge beeped ominously.

*Gaia took cover as the cell bars broke* "I knew you guys would come.." *she smiles getting up hugging Ray* "and I'm glad you were being strong.. Your mother will be proud.."

Ray sighed, and leaned against Gaia, his eyes fluttering. "Yes...I...I was...strong...I...I saved you..." He smiled, and passed out.

Fox kills the guard and runs into the prison and show up as ray passes out. "Come on we need to get out of here!" Fox shoves his gun into gaia's paws as he picks up ray and tosses him on his shoulders.

*Gaia runs to the the bighorner holding the gun looking out variously for the guards*

Fox follows gaia carrying ray.

Ray faded in and out of consciousness, catching snippets of their travel. He spotted the Stranger, who tipped his hat, and left, a guitar riff filling the air.

*Gaia helped them up controlling the bighorner and running off with bruises and cuts on her that were neon blue even her blood. She was a different blood type and in her the radiation and the blood mix giving her his flow and power*

"Well now wasn't that an adventure?" Fox sat down against the wall of a building and sighed.
-
Ray slumped beside Fox, blinking groggily. "Yep...I got a story." He smiled, sleepily.
-
"Hey thats true, I'm sure you could write a book by the time you are an old man."
-
Ray looked at Fox. "But...I'm...Erm..." He reached into his pocket, and pulled out another note, neatly folded and embroidered with roses. Upon it is written 'I am eighteen (18) years of age.' The date on it was for approximately two months ago. Ray handed the note to Fox. "M-Momma said I was old."

*Gaia limps away from the others laying behind a rock closing her eyes while still breathing heavily.*

"Oh you are old enough to be a man, i meant when you are in your fifties, grandpa aged." Fox watched gaia walk off. "Don't go too far, we don't want to rescue you again."

*she slowly falls asleep holding her tail*

"Ray can you go over there and watch gaia? I'm going to go for a quick look to see if there is a safe place we can stay for the night."

Ray nodded, and stood shakily. He limped over to Gaia, and sat beside her, his head drooping.

Fox smiled and walked off looking for a safe place to stay.

*gaia was sleeping peacefully until accidentally scratched her cut* "ahhh!!!" *she gets up holding the bleeding wound*

Fox had found an abandoned gas station for them to hole up in, and rounded the corner when gaia freaked out. "Gaia what's wrong?"

*she shook her head* "ah just scratched my cut by mistake.." *she rubs her arm causing the neon blue blood to rub on her*

Ray flinched, when Gaia shouted. He looked around. "W-What?"
-
Fox laughed. "Your blood is so colorful. Anyways, I found a gas station that we can stay in for the time being."

*she got up* "mkay.." *she began to walk to the gas station*

Ray braced against the wall, and stood. "O-Okay...L-Let's go." He limped over to Fox, and held his shoulder for balance. "S-Sorry...I think my leg broke..."

*The ranger wanders around before finding D.C Riot gear and putting it on,he walks to gaia and says*"Hey im..ok"

"I know your ok" *she smiles weakly* "your pretty strong anyways" (sorry my thing acting weird so I might not respond right away)

"Why didn't you just say so ray?" Fox gently picks ray up and leads the animals towards the gas station.

Ray winced, as his vision blurred. "I...I think my head is broke...too...my vision's going all fuzzy."

Fox started to walk faster. "hey just stay awake, you might have a concussion."

Ray looked at Fox, as his eyelids drooped. "But...but I'm so...so tired...mister cowboy. Just...just a few minutes?"

Fox slapped ray none too gently. "No ray, if you fall asleep, you might die. And you aren't going to die on my watch."

Ray blinked. "Then...can I sing? I...I like to sing...especially if I can't...can't sleep."

*gaia walked slower* "ugh jesus I'm exhausted.."
-
Fox reached the gas station, passing gaia and the ranger. "Yes ray sing. Sing something beautiful." Fox opened the door to the gas station and laid ray down on a cot.

Ray laid on the cot, and began singing.
"Daiisy...Daiiisy...give me your...answer...do...You're driving...me...half crazy...all for the...love of you..."

"Keep singing ray, I want to hear you outside." Fox walks outside and secures the animals for the night.

Jack was, again, far behind the group, and upon seeing them,move to rest in the gas station, he jogged to catch up.

Ray continued singing, but his voice became slower and quieter.
"Now...I can't...afford a...carriage...won't...be...a stylish...marriage..."

Jack heard the singing as he moved to open the door. The kid was hurt. He found himself unconsciously drawing a stimpack. His last stimpack. He stopped, hand halfway to the door, a knot in his throat. Should he keep it? Or let the kid die? He worked his mouth wordlessly, paralyzed by indecision.
He hates moral decisions like this.

Ray looked over at the door, and saw Jack. He smiled weakly, and waved. "Oh...hey Jack...I'm glad...you came...back."

Jack gave a weak smile, opened the door, and walked towards Ray. He walked slowly, his breathing quick.
Why was he so afraid to do this? More so, why was he doing this in the first place?
He stopped, glanced down at the stimpack in his hands, closed his eyes for a brief moment, and then continued walking.

Ray looked at Jack, a groggy and confused look on his face. "J-Jack? Are...are you...okay?" He sighed, and looked over at one of the walls. "Huh...the paintings are...are doing a funny dance."

*gaia falls on the floor in front of the gas station* "uhh I'll be fine you can go without me..." *she smiles weakly and crawls to a rock sitting by it*

Ray heard Gaia fall, and looked at Jack. He spotted the stimpak in Jack's paw, and Ray motioned to Gaia. "S-She...needs it...Besides..." He added weakly. "I don't...don't like needles."

*she shakes her head smiling* "I'm fine Ray... Really, and face your fear don't let the needle scare you" *she leans against the rock closing her eyes to relax*

Jack glances between the two of them, his thoughts running at a mile a minute.
Before, it was a much simpler question. Do it, or don't. Now, there's a third variable. Which one to use it on?
The kid.... Or the 'most wanted fur' as she called herself (jack was highly dubious of this), but if it's true, then a bounty for her head wouldn't hurt. But if she was the one to live... He assumed that he would be rewarded accordingly.
But the kid... He's a kid. He hasn't lived very long.
He couldn't decide. And he hated not knowing what to do....

Fox walked in from tying up the animals. Fox quickly discerned the situation. "Ok jack, how about you just flip a coin to decide?" Fox puts a legion denarius in jacks paw.

He sighs deeply. "No." He says "I've made up my mind. Ray gets it. sorry, Gaia."

Ray looked at Jack, as his world began going white. He blinked, and rubbed his eyes. "S-Some...turned the...the lights up way too bright."

"Hey," he goes jogging up to him, stimpack in his hand "hey, I've gotcha, buddy."
He moves to plunge the stimpack into ray's arm.

Fox begins to look around for things to scavange. Fox found a box filled with paper. He dumped out the box and a stimpack was at the bottom. "Hey I found a stimpack for you gaia!"

Ray didn't flinch, as the needle poked through his arm. He just looked over at Jack, and smiled weakly. "I...I knew you'd...you'd come back." Ray felt his bones piece themselves back together, and sighed. He began singing, sleepily. "You can...stand me up...at the gates of Hell...but I...won't..back down. No...I'll stand my...ground. And I...won't...back down."

*Gaia was already sound asleep making her tail cover her*

"Oh well at least she isn't hurting." Fox put the stimpack into his bag.

A few minutes pass, and Ray stood, groggily. He looked around, and quickly hugged Jack. "Thank you!"

*Gaia begins panic while sleeping, kicking her legs* "n-no!! Stop!!"

Jack tousled Ray's hair affectionately. "Any time, bud."

*gaia tosses and turns for a couple minutes before stopping and finally sleeping peacefully*

Fox went outside and with some difficulty, he managed to get on the roof of the gas station. "Ah nice and quiet. The stars are so nice." Fox laid down and was soon asleep.

"You know what?" Jack says to ray"I'll let ya use my bedroll!" He snaps a cord on the roll on his back, and rolls it out on the floor behind him.

*gaia wakes up* "uhh.." *she gets up going to her pack and grabbing a water bottle and drinking it and looking at her scars* "damn they got me pretty good..." *she sits outside of the gas station while humming push play and once every minute or two she would take another drink of water*

Ray walked outside, having slept on Jack's bedroll, and stood, leaning against a gas pump. He watched a piece of paper float lazily on the breeze, and giggled when it got caught.

*Gaia walks to Jacob that was resting* "you sure your fine? I just want to make sure.."

"..."*He is still sleeping after a long week of work*

*she pets his head* "hopefully you are..." *she stops and lays down next to him slowly falling asleep*

Ray, seeing everyone asleep, decided to wander about the dilapidated structures, hoping to stumble upon some treasures. He remembered one time he found a locked safe, but couldn't open it. Ray skipped through the rubble and debris, opening cabinets, drawers, and whatever else he could get his paws on. He turned the Pip-Boy radio on, and picked up a station playing old classics from the forties.

Jack was awoken by Ray leaving, and he was outright alerted when he heard the sound of music on the breeze. Something about rain falling. He decided that he should go and see what was going on; music only came from big settlements... And if ray got caught up in one of them... He won't let that happen.

Ray pulled at a locker, which the previous owner had broken the lock. "Hn! Come on!" The door gave way, and Ray fell back, landing on his back. He shook his head, and stood. "Owwie, don't pull on locked things." He dug through the locker, finding a small amount of pistol rounds, and a stimpak. He tucked these into his pockets, and kept looking. He eventually found a very beaten up, old, and rusty T51-b power helmet. He looked at it, and held it under his arm, like a ball. "Maybe some of the adults know what you are. 'Cause I don't." He stepped out of the building, and tripped a wire, causing a shotgun to discharge. He felt a quick tug and burn, as his vision went black and white for a moment.

*Gaia opens her eyes seeing Jacob sleeping next to her. She stood up hearing a noise in the distance* "hmm?" *she gets up not putting on her armor and decides to walk to her backpack and grabs crackers and begins to eat them while she was in her shorts and tank top knowing jack and Ray had left for a little bit*

Jack rushes to the sound of the shotgun, and upon arriving, he sees ray. He sees the shotgun, and the tripped tripwire...
"Sh*t!" He goes "you okay?"

Ray nodded, as he began bandaging himself sloppily. "Y-Yeah...J-Just a scratch." The helmet slid from under his arm, speckled with blood. Ray held up the stimpak, and shook it. "Y-You just poke yourself with this...r-right?"

"Right." He goes "then you press down on the thing on the top. Then it should fix itself."

Ray did as instructed, and felt the blood stop, and the wounds heal. He threw the empty pack away, and stood. He looked around. "Where's the face thing?"

"This?" He asks, holding up a helmet of some sort "this is a metal helmet. A t...something. I don't know."
-
Ray nodded, and took the helmet back. He stared at it for a moment. "I...I think Gaia wears something like this. Something like powder armor or something, I dunno." He put the helmet on, and looked around. "I can't see anything."

"Heh" he goes "that's because it's a bit big for you!"
-
Ray sighed, but kept the helmet on. "Oh well...s-should we head back? The others might be worried." He looked around. "But...There so much more to see." He groaned, and sat. "I don't know."

"Well, what'd ya say to a coin toss? Find a cap, and flip it. Heads we go back, tails we go that way!" He finishes, pointing in a direction away from the camp

Ray felt around, and pulled out a bottle cap. This one, instead of being the normal red caps used in trading, had a blue paint job, and a white star on the face. He flipped it, and caught it, but the helmet fell over his eyes. Ray fought with the helmet, while speaking. "What is it? What is it?"

"Ah. It's tails." He goes, picking up the bottle cap and stuffing it into his pocket "we're off to adventure!" He says in a sing-Song-y tone. He then marches forward in a comical fashion.

Ray, having beat the helmet back in position, followed behind Jack, mimicking his march. He fiddled with the radio, and Yankee Doodle started playing.

The fake march quickly wore off, and jack returned to his normal mode of urban exploration, his rifle flitting from window to window, scanning for threats.

Ray stopped, and dropped to a crouch, as he turned off the radio. He looked around, and stumbled when a bullet pinged off the helmet. He laid in the dirt, confused.

Jack quickly crouches down, an scans the surrounding buildings for the shooter.

*gaia walks to jacob shaking him lightly* "hey wake up we need to find the others... I heard a gunshot.."

Ray shook his head, and groaned, holding the helmet. "Ugh...w-what happened?"

*she shook him a little more harder* "come on something's happening what if there in trouble... Sleepy head wake up" *she looks out in the distance seeing if she sees anyfur was out there*

"Stay down!" He whispers, half yelling "someone shot at us!"
-
Ray nodded. "I know...I know." He looked around. "The clothes store , second floor, third window from the right."

*she gets worried and gets dressed in her armor holding her gun* "oh please let them come back safe" *she repeated while waiting there arrival*

*The ranger wakes up*"...hm..."
-
*she looks at him and looks back into the distance still worried* "Jesus let them be ok.."

Ray awoke, some time later, and found his paws bound to a stake in the ground. He still felt the weight of the helmet press against his neck, and again could hardly see. Ray blinked, and looked up, to see a grand fire about ten feet away. People danced around, some armored, others not. They carried weapons ranging from baseball bats to Laser RCWs. He couldn't here them through the helmet, but could feel a beat in his chest. Ray had never been so curious and confused in all eighteen years of his life, and in all the months he worked for the Express. He looked around cautiously, and noticed Jack was not near. Ray hoped he had escaped, and gotten back to Gaia, back to safety. He felt small, smaller than he had before, and alone. Ray bit back tears, as he became more and more frightened. He hoped that Jack would send Gaia and the Ranger, and come and save him.

Fox had woken with a start when he had heard the gunshot."What was that?" Fox climbed down off the roof and stood watch with gaia who had heard the shot also. "Do you think that they are ok?"

Jack woke up with a start. A rather large group of people were dancing to the beat of a drum. As his vision improved, he could see more and more details. The people were tribals. A few of them had energy weapons.
"Sh*t"he curses "this just got a hell of a lot harder."
He felt around behind him, and he could tell he was tied to a large, square pillar.
A large Rottweiler walked up to him, and jack guessed that he was the leader because he had the largest skull on his head, and he had the most decorative bits on the clothes he wore. (and jack hesitates to call that clothes)
"so, the little fox is the next one to be roasted on the spit." He offers a grin "I haven't had fox in years!"

"Hey ima go find them, ok?" *she looks at Jacob and waits for a response that is ok for her to go*
-
"Im coming with you...if they are gone this long...it must be dangerous"
-
"Yea your right" *she agrees*

Ray whimpered, as a tribal pulled on his helmet. He kept his eyes closed, for fear of shouting.
-
Fox started walking toward the low beat of drums in the distance. "Come on, I can hear some drums in the distance."
-
Ray whimpered, as one of the tribal members drew a blade, and began harassing him, poking at him with the point. A few tears coursed down his face, as he hoped Gaia, Jacob, Fox, somebody would save him.

The sound of drums increased as Fox walked towards a partially crumbled building. As the corner, he came face to face with a tribal hopped up of drugs. "Hey buddy look at that big tasty brahmin over there!" While the tribal was distracted, Fox tripped him and knocked him out.

"Fox is one of my favorites" the Rottweiler grins toothily "a little chewy, but otherwise perfect!"
Jack says nothing.
"Hmm..." He goes "no words? Most of you are begging for your lives by now."
"**censor** you." Jack goes, spitting at the man
The Rottweiler wipes the spit off of his hand, and then offers a sardonic smile at him.

Ray kept his eyes shut, and spoke up. "W-What do you want from m-me?" The tribal grunted, and shouted at the Rottweiler. Ray closed his mouth, afraid of what he'd done.

*Gaia hid behind the rock seeing Ray and looked back at Jacob* "what do we do?!" *she says in a concerned whisper*

Fox stripped the unconscious tribal and put on the tribal's clothes. "I can't believe I'm doing this." Fox muttered while striding toward the entrance of the building.

*she see the tribal men yell at Ray and she get angry and her eyes to glow neon blue as she tackles the leader punching the leader over again yelling* "close your eyes ray!!"

Ray squeezed his eyes shut, and tried to hide in his coat. He could hear the tearing of flesh and the shattering of bone. Ray was confused, was this the same Gaia he met, or was it the blue glowing woman he saw a while back? He didn't know, and for the moment, didn't care. She was rescuing him, he thought, and that's all that mattered.

*Gaia stopped making the bodies disappear to not scare ray* "ok your good.." *she unties him* "there, you ok?"

Ray kept his eyes closed, and groped around for the power helmet. It, for anything, offered him safety.

*she picked him up with her hand on his shoulders* "please don't be scared of me.... Please Ray, I would never harm you."

Ray opened his eyes, and wrapped his arms around Gaia, sobbing. "I...I was so...so scared!"

*she hugs him patting his back* "I know, I know.... Don't worry, your safe now"
-
Ray looked around for a briefly, and grabbed his power helmet. He slid it over his head, hiding his face. Tears dropped periodically from under the helmet.

"So, little fox " the leader said "why don't we surprise you! You can be blindfolded, so that when we pit you on the spit, you'll be suprised! Sound fun?"
"N-no!" I go
But I could tell that he didn't care. He put the blindfold on me anyways.
"Close your eyes ray!" He heard Gaia yell.
After that, a bunch of weird sounds followed.
"Hey!" He went, once they stopped "hey, over here! Lemme out!"

Ray heard Jack, and ran over to him. Ray began to pull at the bindings, until they frayed in his paws. The bindings snapped, and Ray fell backwards. He laid on the ground, looking up at the sky, not wanting to move. "J-Jack? A-Are you okay?"

"Gah..." Jack went, offering his hand, and an attempt at a warm smile "Thanks, kid. Sorry for getting you into this, though."

Ray's helmet remained immobile, even though he shook his head. "N-No, it's not your fault. The bad people, they did it."
-
*Gaia's glowing neon eyes and claws,horns, and hooves turn back to there original color as she looks at the ground where she killed the people and sighs*

Fox walked up to gaia and ray, still dressed as a tribel. "That sure was some show gaia. Are you okay ray?"
-
Ray flinched, curled up, and covered his head, shaking horribly. The helmet rattled around on his head.

Fox knelt down and took off rays helmet. "Ray, its just me, don't be scared."
-
He shook harder, as Fox removed his helmet. "J-J-Just take w-what y-you want! L-Leave m-me alone, p-please!" He kept his eyes shut, as tears of fear rolled down his cheeks.

"Oh you poor thing." Fox embraced ray in a hug and wiped away his tears.
-
Ray continued to shake, and kept his eyes shut. "N-No...no n-no...p-please l-leave me b-be."

"Hey," jack went in an attempt to calm him down "hey, you're gonna be okay. I'm here. I won't let anyone hurt you." He went to embrace ray as well

"Ray we are all here no one is going to hurt you."

"Yeah, and if they even so much as try..." He drifts off slightly, balling his fists "they'll die, most likely."

*gaia looks at Ray standing over him* "Ray come on please don't cry..." *she says worried*

Ray, after a few more minutes, rubbed his eyes, and sat up. He sniffed, and spoke. "C-Can I g-go home now? I...I just want to nap...make the bad stuff go away."

"Yea, let's get home and you can take a nap and use my soft blanket. How's that sound?" *she says smiling and helps him up*
-
Ray stood, and sniffed again. His eyes were all red, and his cheeks were wet. Ray picked up the power helmet, and held it under his arm. "O-Okay."

"Hmmm..." Jack goes, pulling out what used to be a red bandanna. It was faded with age, but he kept it as a back up dust-rag. Ray would probably like it. "Hey, ray" he continues "I've got something for ya."
He holds the bandanna forward, offering it to the kid.

Ray shook his head, at the offering. "N-No...you keep it." He slid the power helmet on, to cover his tear-stained face.

"At least use it to wipe your tears." He goes, still holding it out

Ray took the kerchief, and pulled his helmet up. He wiped away the tears, lowered the helmet, and held it out to Jack. "T-Thanks."

"Anything for you, kid." He goes, smiling

*she walks by the ranger* "you ok?"

*The ranger finds dust covered enclave power armor*"I need some training for this...*

*she looks at him and the armor* "here put it on, you can train now.." *she pick the armor up handing it to him*

*He puts on the armour before kneeling under its weight*"GAH!!!"

*she chuckles* "yea it's gonna be heavy since you haven't wore it before" *she puts her hand out to help him up* "it will get lighter once you get use to it, come on"

*He slowly stands*"Ok...ok..i'm good"

*she looks at him while the others slept* "yea I'm sure you'll get use to it quick, besides your pretty strong" *she softly pats his back* "come on we need to walk for a bit.. So you get use to the weight"

Ray awoke, and found himself immersed in darkness. The ancient T-51b power helmet he wore had worked itself backwards on his head, covering his eyes. Ray groped about, frantically. "Gaia? Fox? Jack? Ranger?! I'm blind!"

*gaia holding on to Rangers sholder seeing Ray panic she giggles* "Ray... Calm down... You have a helmet on.."
-
*Gives ray the riot armour*"Here i may not need this..."
-
*she looks at ranger and smiles* "how are you doing with the new armor"

Ray fixed the helmet, and took the armor. "T-Thanks. Do...do you want this?" He tapped the T-51b. "I-It's a little broken."
-
"I don't think he needs it you keep it just in case ok."

Ray fought with the armor, and managed to slip it on. He beamed under his helmet. "I got it!"

*she chuckles* "good"
-
Ray crossed his legs, and held his ankles. "S-So...what's the plan now?"

"Well ranger is trying to get use to his armor so I'm helping him out" *she says happily*

Ray took his helmet off, and rubbed his head. "W-What about me and Jack and Fox?" After the recent events, he didn't want the group to separate.

Fox woke up from his nap. "Hmm what are we talking about?" Fox looked at the change in armor. "Aww now I feel outdated."
-
"We're not going far, I promise.." *she looks into Rays eyes telling him the truth*
-
Ray smiled, and took off his armor. He handed it to Fox. "Here...it's too heavy for me. I don't like it." He looked back at Gaia. "R-Really? I...I don't want people going away. N-Not like momma."
-
"Oh thanks ray." Fox got up and hugged ray. "We aint gonna leave you ray."
-
"Don't worry Ray I wouldn't leave you besides if we were gone it's probably because were doing important things, but we wouldn't leave you" *she says looking at the sun rise and back to ray* "for now fox is in charge until we get back, ok?

Ray smiled. "O-Okay."

*she walks next to ranger having his arm around her shoulder* "so is it getting easier?"
-
"Yes"*He walks normally and feels the glowing cooling fan on the back of his armor*
-
"That's good" *she smiles at him*

Ray took his helmet off, and looked at the sleeping Jack and Fox. His child-like mindset decided now it was time to explore, and he did. Ray made sure he left a note on Jack's nose, before he left. He skipped away, completely over his 'don't want people separate' thought. Ray turned on his radio to the Enclave radio. "Too bad Mr. President John Henry Eden died. Sounded like he had a plan." Ray had no idea what any of that meant, but decided to say it anyway.

Jack was suddenly awoken from his sleep because a note of some sort was keeping him from breathing. He tore it off of his face, and read it.
-
Ray found another broken down robot, a small Enclave Eye-bot. After a few minutes of tinkering, the bot whirred to life, and floated around, spewing patriotic music and speeches. Ray continued on his way, and climbed up through the destroyed remains of an office building.

The note said something about ray leaving. He couldn't tell the rest of the group; he does his best tracking alone. And ray seemed to be rather innocent... He would most likely be bad at hiding his tracks.
With that, jack added on a bit about him going to get ray on the note, and left.

Ray tripped over a fallen filing cabinet, and knocked a desk-lamp out of the window. He giggled. "Whoops! I broked the lamp." Ray got back up, and sat in an office chair. He proceeded to role around the office floor, laughing loudly.

He heard laughing, which either meant a raider or ray. The raider was obviously the more unpleasant of the two options. He followed the sound, and when he got there and say ray dicking around on a swivel chair, he couldn't help but chuckle.

Ray spun rapidly in the chair, and fell. He stood up, and staggered around. "Goes 'round and 'round and 'round." He blinked, and shook his head. After a moment, he saw Jack. "Oh hi! I didn't see you." Ray smiled. "Did you see the robot I fixed?"

"Hmm?" He goes "oh yeah. One of the floaty ones? It was spewing some nonsense about John Henry Eden or something."
-
Ray shook his head. "Yep yep! Mister President John Henry Eden. He said there was a plan...but then he went and got dead." Ray sighed. "It sounded like a good plan."
-
"You do realize that his plan was to kill everyone but his friends, right?" He goes, hoping that he was just repeating something he heard the eyebot say.

*Gaia looks at ranger from the corner of her eyes seeing he's getting better with the armor and smiles*
-
Ray's smile slowly faded. "O-Oh...oh." He sniffed.

"It's okay." He says, giving an apologetic smile "those thing make you believe what they say anyways."
-
Ray looked down at the ground, and scuffed his boot. "I...they were talking about learning, and stuff...I..." A tear fell from his eye. "I don't know how to write...I can read a little...mostly robot talk."

"You know," he says, embracing him in a hug "I've heard that there's teacher robots. Maybe we could find a school or something, and fix up a robot there! Then they could teach you!"

Ray sniffed. "I...I tried...b-but..." He sat. "I'm not smart enough."

"Hah!" He scoffs "you're smart! I mean," he gestures in the general direction that the eyebot was in "who do you know that could do that?"
-
"No! I...I can't learn...I don't know why. Me and momma tried and tried...but Doctor Silva said she should...do...I don't know the word. Then momma got mad, and told me to wait outside. It was a long time before she came back out." Ray sniffed. "She said I shouldn't listen to Doctor Silva, she said he was a bad man."

"Well...if you can fix robots, then maybe you can fix an auto-doc? That way we can know why you can't learn."
-
*they arrive back with jack and ray* "ok we're back and seems like ranger is use to his armor"

Ray shrugged. "I dunno. I don't know what an auto-doc is. I-If you know where one might be...I...I could try." He sniffed, and rubbed his nose. "Doctor Silva said it was cause my brain was...broken...that's what Miss Gloria said." Ray shrugged.

"Well, it ain't broke if you can fix eyebot a with no tools! But let's see if we can upgrade it. I think I saw a hospital not far from here. Come on!"

Ray stood. "O-Okay, sure." He reached for Jack's paw.

*she tilted her ears* "wait where we going?"

((Okay, Gaia, you're confusing me. Are you with me and ray? Or are you with the group? We're in some random office in the city, away from the group.

Ray shrugged. "Fox is sleeping at the camp. Jack wants me to fix a thing." He continued reaching for Jack's paw.

(Ok I'll be more clear next time) *she nods* "ah ok.. Wait does fox know you guys are gone..?"

"I'm going to see if I can't find an auto doc in a hospital I saw earlier.Ray might be able to fix it, and it might give us some insight into his... Condition."

Ray remembered his note...or at least what he thought was the note. In reality it was more of a map, showing him wandering around. "Yep! I left a note!"

"I added on that I left too." He says, looking to Gaia "he probably doesn't know about you, though."

*she nods at ray* "good job Ray." *she pay his back and looks at jack* "ah he won't worry about me he mostly cares for Ray and you, you guys are good friends" *she puts her helmet on so no one would recognize her and turn her in*

Ray took Jack's paw, and smiled. "I want to go see the new robot."

"Okay!" Jack says smiling "off to see the new robot!" He jogs out of the door in a pseudo-playful manner, heading in the direction of the hospital.

Ray followed behind, as his radio tuned back to some music channel. Light and playful music emanated from his Pip-Boy, as Ray giggled.

*she walked slowly beside ranger to where the two were heading*

It took them a while, about an hour and thirty minutes, to get to the hospital. An extra thirty minutes were added because of ray's songs. They carry on the wind, so he had to be extra careful looking for threats. He would turn it off, but ray seems to be having a good time.

Ray saw the hospital. "Is it in there?" He turned the music off, and looked at Jack.

"Yeah," he goes " there might even be some followers of the apocalypse or something in there. They're always looking for medical stuff."

Ray laughed. "People follow apple clips?" He shrugged. "Oh well...I wanna fix the new robot!"

"Right!" He says, slinging his .308 rifle onto his back, and insulin gong his service rifle "if I am correct, some should still be there. I mean, if it's broken, and heavy, I wouldn't loot it."

Ray shrugged. "I guess...unless you've got some of those big strong people."

*gaia sits on a rock* "you know what's funny I can't even build a robot... Your lucky that you got that skill Ray not many people are good at it either.."

Jack opened the door with one hand, and held his rifle In the other. "Come on," he said "let's go find the new robot!"

Ray hopped inside, and looked around. The floor was littered with empty bottles, broken syringes, and paper. He smiled, and looked around for the auto-doc, not sure of what he was looking for. "Okay!"

It took him a while, but he did find an auto-doc. It was all rusty. He wouldn't trust it, even his life depended on it.

Ray stepped lightly behind Jack. "Is this the new robot? He looks old."

"Heh..." Jack goes "he is." He does his best angry drill sergeant, in a vastly exaggerated manner " now get to it soldier!"

Ray flinched, and started to work. He blinked as he opened the access panel to the auto-doc. "Wow...you need a bath." Ray started crossing wires, and the auto-doc whirred to life. It began beeping uncontrollably, and Ray started flailing his arms. "Oh oh oh!" He started pressing on parts of the main hub, a panicked look on his face. "No-nononono-no!"

"Uh..." Jack says, turning to face ray "what's uh...what's wrong?"

The panel popped and sizzled, and Ray furrowed his brow. "The thing is unhappy. Says he doesn't have parts." He leaned back, and looked behind the auto-doc. "Oh! There they are!" Ray grabbed up the parts, and started replacing them. "He told me where they were. Someone wanted him broken."

"Why would they do that? An auto-doc is worth 10,000 caps, I've heard."

Ray shrugged. "Erm...I don't know." He flinched, as a few sparks flew from the control panel. The auto-doc whirred to life, and emanated a garbled speech. Ray spoke up over the din. "I didn't find anything to fix the voice...sorry." He was apologizing to both Jack and the auto-doc.

"It's fine." Jack says, making a complimentary 'it's fine' gesture "you can still understand it, right?"

Ray shrugged. "Little bit. He's got a printer though." He pointed to a small slot on the side.

"Ask it to do a 'patient diagnostic' exactly as I said it. Got it?"

Ray nodded. "P-Patient diag..n-nostic." The 'doc whirred and beeped, as the door on it opened. "H-He said there's no-one in there."

"Lay down on the bed,"he gestures to it "that's where it scans, I think."

Ray nodded, and hopped inside. "L-Like this?" The doc sat idle, waiting for input.

"Yeah." He says, nodding "it's 'patient input' you still got that?"

Ray went to speak, but the auto-doc already started. He yelped, as the 'doc's door shut. "J-Jack?"

"It's okay, ray." He says "I'm here. I'll get you out if it starts to hurt."

Ray nodded, and the auto-doc scanned him. Paper rolled through the slot in the back, giving Ray's condition.

The auto-doc pulled Jack in, and scanned him, writing a readout. Ray grabbed it, and waited for Jack.

Ray watched as Gaia and the Ranger walked away. He looked down, and dropped the helmet. "Everyone...always leaves." A tear fell from his eye. "Always." Ray kicked the helmet, and wandered a few feet, before sitting on the ground.

"Hey," jack says, sitting next to ray "I'm here! I won't leave ya. You're like a son to me." He offers ray a warm smile "I wouldn't dream of leaving you."

Ray blinked, with weepy eyes. "I...I want to go home." From the hospital, a crazed whirring and beeping emanates across the way. Ray stared at the hospital doors. "Doctor Von Braun wants to see you."

Jack nods, standing up "why's he wanna see me?"

Ray shrugged. "I don't know the words. B-But, he keeps saying it's important. And I'm not supposed to know."

Jack shrugs, and walks into the hospital. Upon reaching the auto-doc, he asked "so what's the good doctor ordered?"

The auto-doc chimed, and spoke with a slight southern drawl. "Good! You heard. Yes, I know, the young'n there said I couldn't talk. Now, that'n there's got an issue. Rootin' around in his noggin', I found two things. One, he's mentally disabled. Poor kid must be lucky. Second, he's got somethin' like a demon...only it's him. This...other one...don't let him out, alright? He's bad news."

"Other one?" Jack asks confused "so what is it like alternate personality thingy or whatever? And how do I not let it out? What, exactly do I do?"

The auto-doc sighed audibly. "Just...keep an eye on him, alright? If he acts funny, says anything weird, or does something odd, talk to him. He's very friendly with you, y'know. It seems you keep him calm."
Ray looked around, and up at the clouds. He continued looking up, until he almost fell over.

"Alright. Nice to know, thanks."he pauses for a moment, unsure of what to say "But... What if he doesn't calm down? What do I do then?"

"Knock him out. That...thing...it isn't normal." The auto-doc sighed again. "Alright, I'm runnin' low on power, just keep him calm, okay?" With this, the auto-doc shut down.
Ray watched the clouds, smiling.

Jack headed back out of the hospital, and towards ray. But he stood there a moment, watching him watching the clouds. He couldn't tell why he liked him. The kid was a damn idiot when it came to survival tactics... Maybe it was the fact that he seemed so innocent? He doesn't know, and he hates not knowing. But he does know that he wants to stay with him. To protect him. And he was going to do just that.

Ray looked down, and yawned. He turned, and saw Jack. "Hi! How was it?"

He shrugged nonchalantly "it was okay... You said you wanted to go home, right? Well, where is that?"

Ray sighed. "Umm...one of the vaults. I forget which." He smiled, and turned his Pip-boy to a particular station. A jazzy song played in the background, while a woman spoke of the Sierra Madre. "The nice lady said we should go to...umm...Sierra M-Mawdray?"

*gaia went to the little stream and drank some after she started setting up camp until hearing a noise*
"Who's there!?" *she gets up and her eyes glow*

"Well," he says, "where does the lady say we go to get to the 'Sierra madre'?"

Ray shrugged. "Umm...a casino...I think. I dunno."

"Huh... A casino." He thought for a moment.
Casinos typically had gold of some sort in them, and some of the safes had not been cracked yet, even after hundreds of years.... So this 'Sierra Madre' might be a profitable excursion.
"Well, can you figure out where this broadcast is coming from?"

Ray thought for a moment, before getting to work. After a few seconds, he had triangulated the transmission, and held up his Pip-boy for Jack to see. "There."

He looked at the map, and then at their own location. It was about a week's march from here
Jack nods, and says "let's go see the nice lady!"

*zaida gets the neon blue glowing water and rubs it in her wounds making them heal before her eyes* "there...all better." *she puts her feet in the water* "they don't need me..." *she holds her head and looks down to the stream that reflected her*

Ray nodded. "Yep! We gotta go find the lady!" He stood beside Jack, waiting to go.

"Let's go!" He said, walking in an easterly direction, the direction the broadcast was from.

Ray smiled, and followed Jack, without question.

"Why don't ya turn on that radio?" Jack says, smiling as well. The kid's enthusiasm was infectious.

Ray turned on the radio, and it immediately picked up a swing station. He smiled, and continued walking.
-
"We should be there in a few days." He says, making a small game of walking to the beat of the songs "That's if the food lasts, and we don't have to scavenge for anything."

Ray nodded, and after a few moments, got sort of worried. "Um...w-what about the Steel Lady and the Ranger?"
-
He sighed "I don't know. If they want to come along, they will, I guess. You can leave markers. Just make sure only they'll know it."

Ray nodded, and put an upside-down Brotherhood of Steel symbol on a rock, beside the NCR insignia. "Maybe that works...I dunno." He caught up with Jack, and held his paw. "I...I'm scared...for them."

Jack nods "that's good. Put an arrow, too."
He pauses for a moment, sighing
"Me too. Can't say that I liked the ranger much, though. Steel lady was okay, though."

Ray ran back, and did as he was told. After he finished, he returned, holding Jack's paw.

Thankfully, their food had held out, and they hadn't had to scavenge anything. But that meant that they were running low. Jack hoped they reached the broadcasting location soon.
"How close are we?" He asked ray "we should be almost there."

Ray rubbed sleep from his eyes, and checked the Pip-boy. "Umm...this many away." He held up three fingers.
-
He shrugged, and kept walking. He was glad he did a lot of walking, else he would likely have plenty of blisters by now. And blisters suck.
-
Ray kept walking, but started to fall behind. His feet became heavier, as did his arms. Ray could hardly keep his head up. "I...I don't feel good." He coughed, and staggered on.

"H-hey!" Jack goes, sitting him down gently, and grabbing a stimpack "you okay?"
-
Ray blinked, and looked up. "N-No...I...I feel sick."
-
"Right." He said, showing ray the syringe "got a stimpack right here. You want it?"
-
Ray shook his head. "It...I don't...it won't work."
-
"Why do you say that?" Leon asks, confused "it's a stimpack! It can cure everything short of cancer!"

Ray coughed, and held up his pip-boy. The Rad-meter showed 540, and slowly climbed.

"What the hell?" Leon went, taking a small step backwards. He didn't want radiation sickness, after all. "Well that would be a job for rad away. Of which I have none."

*gaia felt odd and sat down* "uhhh!! DAMMIT!!" *she rubs the side of her head stressed*

Ray coughed, and took off his boots. A piece of metal was stuck in his foot, surrounded by irritated skin, and blood.

"Oh..." Jack went "crap." He paused for a moment, considering his options. His best would most likely be to remove the irradiated piece of metal, and then give him a stimpack to help heal the wound. But there was still the radiation poisoning. Considering the fact that they were in the middle of a desert, he should probably head to the source of the radio transmission, and hope that they have some rad away.
"Alright..." Jack went "I'm gonna remove this bit of metal. It's probably going to hurt. Then I'll give you this stimpack, and I'll carry you to the radio transmission. Sound good?"

Ray nodded weakly, and closed his eyes tight, biting his lip.

"Alright..." He goes "I'm gonna pull it out in three...two...one!" And with that, he yanked it out as fast as he could, quickly injecting the stimpack. Into his foot.

Ray winced, and whimpered.

"Okay." Jack said, watching as the wound closed up on itself "I'm gonna put you over my shoulders, then I can get you to the transmission point in about an hour. Sound good?"

Ray nodded, and held up his arms.

Jack hefted him over his arms in a fireman's carry, and then started to jog at a hurried pace.
-
Ray looked around, and sighed. He checked his pip-boy, and put it near Jack's head, showing him that his rads stopped at around 588.

"Come on." He said to ray, still jogging "come on, stay with me. You can do it."

Ray nodded, and coughed. "O-Okay..."
-
With that, he saw a metal bunker in the distance, and with renewed effort, he started sprinting towards it.

Ray was jostled about, and fought the need to vomit. He moaned, as they reached the bunker doors.

"come on!" jack said, setting ray down so that he could open the doors "we're almost there. then the nice lady can give us some rad away. Sound good?"

Ray nodded. "Y-Yes..."

"Right." he said, hefting him back over his shoulders once the door was open "come on, let's go."

Ray nodded, and felt himself slipping into unconsciousness. "J-Jack?"

"Yeah , kiddo?" He said, sitting him on a cot so that he could search for some rad-away

Ray blinked, and coughed. "I...I'm tired."

"Don't you fall asleep, ray." He said, formulating some quick lie other than 'you'll die' "or the nice lady might have to leave before you can meet her!"

Ray fought to stay awake, shaking his head slightly. He shivered.

Ray blinked, and looked around. "W-Where's Fox?"

"Don't know." He said, looking in a small, metal container "hope he followed your signs."

Ray sighed. "I...I hope too."

"Aha!" He goes, finding a pack of orange-ish fluid marked 'rad away' "here we go!"

Ray smiled, and laid his arm out. "T-That's the...the stuff?"
-
"Yeah." He said, "open wide. Stuff tastes like *ss, so be warned."

Ray did as he was told, and steeled himself.
-
"Right." He says, putting the little plastic tube into his mouth "now, I'm gonna squeeze, and you're gonna let as little of it get out as possible, got that?"
He would use a needle, but he had none.

Ray nodded, and prepared.

"Right." He said, squeezing the pouch "right, you're gonna be okay, got it?"

Ray downed the majority of the package, before coughing. He looked at his pip-boy, and showed it to Jack. "B-Better?"
-
"Probbably." He said "check your rads, see if we need any more."

Ray flipped it to the radiation screen, and showed it to Jack. "I can't read, 'member?"
-
"Right." He said "right. It's a wonder how he could be as good as he is with robots and not read "looks like you've got... Four thirty. That's maybe three more of these " he lightly shakes the bag, indicating it

Ray shook his head, and coughed lightly. "N-No more...they're gross." He stood, and looked around. Ray smiled, when he found a broken wall terminal. He walked to it, and set about working on it, almost automatically.

*gaia wakes up and yawns* "damn how long was I sleeping?" *she looks around the cave and rubs her eyes*

"Right." He said "maybe we could find a needle, and then it wouldn't taste so bad! You wouldn't taste it at all!"

Ray nodded, and continued to work. He pulled the terminal apart, and set about rewiring it. "Hmm...the pretty lady's coming from in the wall-box. Maybe a...a...a sound player? I don't know..." Ray got the terminal to respond, and smiled. He quickly hacked the system, and frowned. "Hmm...this isn't the place it's coming from...it's a...a...repeater."

"Repeater?" Jack said, pulling an empty stimpack out of a drawer, as well as another thing of Rad away "where's it comin' from?"

Ray kept digging in the terminal, when he held up five fingers, and pointed southwest. "This many, that way."

*gaia rubs her head* "Uhh.. Hey guys!... Oh..." *she actually missed them and sighs* "come on you've been alone for years... You can do it again..."

*The Ranger walks towards her and picks her up,he smiles and suddenly kisses her*

*she hets surprised at first but then holds the back of his head kissing him back with passion*

"Right." Jack says, nodding "let's look around here first. See if we can't find any food. We're running low as it is."

Ray left off the terminal, and helped with the search.

Jack fund an old can of beans. That was about half a day if they split it, and just enough for one day if he just left by himself. But he wouldn't do that. So a half day it is.

Ray blinked, and pulled at the ground. After a few moments, he lifted a panel, revealing a bunch of food.

"What's that?" Jack went, walking up to ray "what's in there?"
-
Ray smiled. "Food!"
-
"Damn!" Jack went, setting his backpack down on the floor "set a marker here on your arm-thingie. That way we can come back here, and pick up any food we can't carry. Sound good?"

Ray nodded, and did as he was told, and smiled. "Done."
-
"Ya did good, ray." He said, studding his backpack full of canned goods "now take some of the food, and put it in your pack, yeah?"

*she stops kissing him and blushes* "I...uh.. I Missed you..."
-
Ray expertly packed cans and boxes into his bag, having learned a few tricks from the Couriers. He heaved the bag up, and stumbled forward slightly, smiling. "I did good?"
-
"Yeah!" He said, noticing a few needles and rad-away. He promptly drew them from the container "let's get you fixed, alright?"
-
Ray nodded, and held out his wrist. "O-Okay." He saw the needles, and bit his lip.

Jack smiled at him "you can use stimpacks, right? And plus, you're a brave little kid. You can tough it out."
-
Ray nodded, but still turned his head. He couldn't tell Jack about his past, mostly because he couldn't remember. Ray knew it had something to do with needles, and a lot of pain, blood, and screaming.

He smiled, sticking an IV into his arm., then hooking it up to the Rad-away. "You'll be fine." He cooed "I'm here. You're gonna be okay."

Ray felt the rad-away flow through his veins, and watched as his rad-counter ticked down again. After the bag drained, Ray sighed, and shook his head. "N-No more...Doctor Silva said that too much makes people sick."

He nods, and checks his rads. He stopped at about 100-ish. That's good enough.
"Alright. Let's get going!" He said

Ray nodded, and smiled. "Okay!" He skipped off out of the bunker, and painted his mark on the wall. "In case Fox or the Steel Lady, or the Ranger find it."

Jack nods, and heads off in the direction of the real source, 5 Miles away. "Right." Jack says "we should be there within a couple hours, if we keep up this pace."

Ray fell in behind Jack, keeping his paws in the strap of his pack. "So...what d'you think the nice lady will have?"
-
*zaida smile and blushes and stands up straight* "so~ what are you doing here?"
-
"I dunno." Jack said "lotsa stuff, probbably, I mean, look at the bunker she left behind!"
-
Ray gasped. "Maybe she'll have a wheely thingy! Like that!" He pointed at a burnt out car. "I've seen lots of them, but I can't fix them."

"Yeah..." I want to fix 'em too... Maybe if you can get a robot to carry the parts for you, you can grab some parts that work from other cars, and put 'em into other ones!

Ray shrugged. "I dunno...I don't know how the wheel thingies work." He sighed. "Sorry."

He shrugged "maybe we can ask her. Maybe she can show you!"

Ray shrugged. "But those are dangerous. Bad people use them to do...umm...make thunder."

"Make thunder?" He says, confused "what do you mean?"

Ray opened his hands quickly, and made a sound like an explosion. "Like that...I don't know the word."

"Ah." He goes, pretty sure that he got it right "well, let's go see her! Maybe she has a robot that needs fixing!"

Ray and Jack started towards the new transmission, as Ray tried to contact the rest of the group. He gave their rough coordinates, through a special code that the Couriers used to keep in touch. Ray hoped the others would receive it, and come with them.

"I did some courier work once." Jack says, sighing "Only once, though... Never got any good at it. Ya wanna hear the story?"

Ray nodded, excitedly. "Yep!"
-
"Ah." He says, getting into his storyteller frame of mind "well, I was resting at primm, and some dude comes up to me, asks me if I want some work. I say yes, an he hands me a package, saying deliver this to the Gomorrah, all fees will be paid for. I thought nothing of it at the time, so I start heading to the strip. Apparently it was an illegal shipment of weapons, and I got sent into Vegas jail for two years... I stopped couriering because there was... Too many shifty guys looking to transport...shifty stuff. Ray shrugged, and hitched his pack higher. "I...I remember one time, this...guy came up and handed me a small little box...and told me that I had to...umm...deliver it to, erm...some people...they looked like...like big people...they were very friendly...and they lived on a mountain! White stuff fell from the sky, and landed in piles. But...but they didn't know what to do...no one ever came up there. So they told me to do some things...and the green people and blue people got into a fight...one of the blue people...I don't remember her name...she held me close, and told me not to watch...after they stopped, the blue people walked away, and the green people looked sad, but happy. I said I'd come back some day...and talk with them...they're really nice. Not like the people in the city."

"Huh..." He said, confused "you... You went there, and they didn't shoot you?"

Ray shrugged. "They thought about it...but Mister Jacob said I was different. Maybe 'cause I don't have a weapon. He was very nice."

"Huh." Jack said, shrugging "you should take me there!" Jack had always wanted to see super mutants up close, without shooting at them first. "Of course, after we meet the nice lady!"

Ray nodded. "I'll have to tell the blue lady to tell him." Ray stopped, and shouted. "Gran'ma!?"

"Uh..." Jack said "we're a while away from that place, probably. She won't hear you, most likely."

Ray called out again. "Gran'ma!? Where are you!?" After a few moments, thudding footsteps advance behind Ray and Jack. Ray turned, and smiled. "Gran'ma!"

"Ah!" Jack goes, spinning around, his rifle pointed at the figure "who's there?"

Ray jumped and seemed to float, his arms wrapped around an unseen figure. He spun slowly, and another voice laughed along with him.

"Who the..." Jack yells "who the... " he stands there a moment, utterly confused.

Ray looked up. "Gran'ma, this nice man wants to meet you!" After a few seconds, a figure appears near Ray. She looked like an old woman, and even wore a light pink mumu. However, she stood around 8 feet tall, and was a light shade of blue. A sunhat sat jauntily on her head. "Well, any friend of my grandson is a friend of mine. I'm Violet." She smiled down on Jack, as she held Ray.

"Uh..." He says "uh... I'm...jack... Nice to uh...meet you."

Violet smiled, and walked towards Jack. "Well, aren't you just polite, if not nervous." She held out a massive hand, and watched him closely.

"Well..." He says, hesitantly reaching his hand out to shake hers "well, you're rather...big. And you appeared out of nowhere. Sorry if I'm a bit...startled."

"I don't know what to do... Should we catch up to them or stay here?" *she asked concerned* "what do we do.." *she says looking slightly up at ranger*

Violet nodded. "Yes...the Nightkin have a nasty habit of that, sorry I startled you sweetie." Ray smiled, and showed Violet his pip-boy. "We found a nice lady, and we're gonna go see her!"

"Well..." He says , recovering somewhat "well, I'm just not used to you guys not shooting me. You guys killed a few people I knew.... But you seem different. and plus, you're...intimidating to say the least."

Violet nodded, and patted Ray on the head, but spoke to Jack. "Yes, my kin aren't very social." She smiled at Ray. "That's nice, dear, but I can't go with you." Ray nodded. "I know. Jack wanted to see Jacob and the others, after we meet the nice lady. I was wondering if you would talk to Mister Jacob...to see if it's okay?" Violet smiled. "Of course, Jacob want's to see you soon anyway. But I'll tell him." With that, the blue woman kissed Ray on the head, and disappeared, followed by the fading sounds of thudding footsteps against the earth. Ray smiled. "Bye Gran'ma!"

"Huh." Jack said, shrugging "well, let's go, yeah?" He said, vaulting over an old, rusted out car

Ray laughed, as he climbed through the car. He rolled on the ground, and stood back up. "Did Gran'ma scare you, Jack?" Ray walked over to Jack, and smiled apologetically. "I should have told you, sorry."

"Yeah..." Jack says, quickly scanning the horizon with his rifle "yeah, she did... And it's not your fault, ray. It's just...ah, it's nothing."

Ray stepped up, and walked in front of Jack, pressing his forehead against the barrel of Jack's rifle. "No. Tell the story."

"Jeez!" He goes, jerking his rifle away "don't do that!" He brings his rifle to a low ready stance. And sighs "it's just... I've had some..." He purses his lips "bad experiences with super mutants."

Ray shrugged. "The big people? They're always so nice, though...How can you have troubles? They always play games with me, and laugh and joke...they gave me a place to stay once, when it rained."

Jack shook his head "you got lucky. Met some of the nice ones... Most of them aren't nice. Most of them kill us on sight..." He pauses for a moment, sighing with grief "look, I'd rather not talk about it, if that's okay."

Ray nodded. "S-Sorry." He continued walking, before a rolling can caught his attention. Ray broke into a huge smile, and chased after it.

Jack stood watching him, a small smile across his face, despite his grim mood. He felt he needed to vent... But ray isn't a good place to do it. He's to innocent to really listen to him... He closed his eyes a moment, sighing again.

Ray's ear twitched, and he turned. "Jack? I-Is there something you need to say? I-I'll listen! Promise!" He sat, and looked at him, waiting. Ray had put the can on the tip of his tail.

He pursed his lips, before letting himself fall the floor, his bak against An old car
"They killed her!" He sobbed, pounding his fist against the car "the b*stards!"

Ray flinched, and ran over to Jack. He wrapped his arms around him, and spoke timidly. "J-Jack? W-What's wrong?"

"Your..." He sas, in between tear-wracked breaths She's a nice... Person... It's just... Some bad... Bad memories. Long time ago."

Ray hadn't seen a grownup cry before, and wasn't sure how to approach the situation. "Um...Uh..." He felt himself beginning to panic. "W-What do I n-need to do?"

"N-nothing..." He said, wiping the tears out of his eyes "nothing... Just listen... Let me vent."

Ray nodded, and kept his mouth shut.

"Right..." Jack said "there was this girl... Her name was lotty. Smartest damn otter this side of the planet, with a nice rack to boot.... I met her working for the crimson caravan... We spoke, and we eventually got together. It definitely helped on those lonely nights out in the wastes.... Anyways... We" he slapped his hands against each other several times "and she was pregnant... So I bought a little cottage somewhere in the wastes so that we could settle down. It came with some plants, like corn and some sort of beans... God did those things make you fart... Anyways, I was out tending the fields, and I heard screaming... So I ran back to see what was happening. And I found her dead, and one of those things" he gestured angrily in the direction violet came from "was dead there too..." He say there, shaking visibly with each sob

Ray didn't understand what half of what Jack said and did meant, but felt his sorrow all the same. He hugged Jack, unsure of what to do.

Jack let a smile play across his face... Ray's a nice kid... He would have to protect him....
"T-thanks..." He says "thanks for listening."

Ray nodded. "W-We're family. Family helps each other."

"Y-yeah..." He went, shakily climbing to his feet "let's go, yeah?"

Ray shrugged, and stood. "Yeah." He waved into the distance one last time, before turning. "You okay?"

"Y-yeah..." He says "I feel better now, thanks..."

Ray smiled, and nodded. "Yay! Let's go meet the lady!" He started off towards the transmission.

"Yeah." Jack says, walking after ray, his rifle at his side"yeah, that sounds good."

After a few more hours of travel, Ray and Jack stopped at a derelict warehouse building, as rain began to fall from the clouds. Ray smiled, and listened to the rain patter against what was left of the roof. He stuck his paw out, and caught a few droplets.

"Make sure that water's not radioactive first." Lee comments "some of the rain is still radioactive sometimes... Just to be safe. It's probably not, but just be safe, yeah? Wouldn't want you to die."
