Where will you be 30 years from now?
if it's chilling in your house in the Bahamas or advocating for the civil rights of cyborgs, where do you think you'll be?
Try to think about where we may be in terms of technology.
-
Manchester, New Hampshire. I'll just guess that we'll have 32 cores as being pretty normal by then in even a tablet.
-
I vet or a zoologist or something like that
-
DEAD jk I hope not. Probably a chef in a small-town diner.
-
^awe that is such a cute little thing to do^
-
*blushes* aww stop it. :$ I might be a history teacher on the other hand.
-
I think fighting for my own civil rights if the world doesn't end, the way the world is going here.
But on a idealistic note, I'd like to be a concept artist if I get so far because artists are the conceptualisers of all things made and the top of the conceptual chain. So much modern technology etc was pre-conceived by artistic visionaries. It's only a dream, though. I really just want "everyone" to get on, and for hugs and good health. I'd also like to not be lonely. Life's too short, sadly too many don't realise and spoil it for themselves deep down and everyone around them.
-
Bad end: I die horribly before I'm 40.
Average end: I have a mediocre job and live in a basement somewhere.
Good end: I am a writer or psychologist and live in a relatively large house (maybe with a family).
Great end: I am ruler of the universe.
Most likely end: the world is stricken by war and famine and I'm sleeping in a ditch somewhere (given the state of the world, it's possible)
Matrix end: I wake up in my bed and believe what I want to believe.
Nice boat end: I get stabbed multiple times by my ex-girlfriend because I broke up with her, I die and in turn my body gets decapitated by my current girlfriend. She then kills the girl I broke up with and rides a boat cradling my head. (Hehe the end of school days is legendary)
-
Crazy end: I become a psycho killer at a university
-
Not dead, hopefully.

Not dead, hopefully.
I think everyone can agree with that
-
check back with me in 30 years
-
I will be 46. I has no clue. A better question would be where will I be in 5 or 10 years
-
I know where I want to be in 30 years... does that help? xD
I'd like to have accomplished my dream of becoming a zoologist and have a nice home with a fun family. :3 But mostly the zoology part.
-
Go Zoologists
-
By the time I'm 50, here's hoping I can have managed my acting and voice acting career or that I've at least found a happy, prosperous living in a more spacious and green suburb with a woman I can have devoted my life to.
Knowing myself like I do, I'll have made one of those a reality by that time.

You can never predict more than a few years in the future, but ideally I'd be a physicist, maybe working with Quantum Computing?
In terms of technology we have a few possibilities.
- 3D printing becomes much more normal and greatly changes the way we do things, basically 3D printing becomes the new computers in terms of societal affect
- Stem Cell research continues to advance, by this time we would of probably been able to successfully grow/clone a human, life expency is to about 130
- About 60% of the world is run by renewable energies, maybe more considering 23% of the world is run today
- Electrical computers begin to be replaced by optical computers, parallel processing and concurrency are perfected
- Quantum computers begin to emerge for practical use, but still have a while to go before they are commercially viable.
- Based on Moore's law, computers can fit 33,000 times more transistors per microchip than they can today.

I will be top poster of the week on TFF

Cloning, 130 est and overpopulation don't mix. There are greater needs in the world.
Technology needs to step beyond computation as well, virtual reality is pretty limited and real life always extends beyond the boundaries. I should think computers too compact would be too fragile and that's in terms of physical laws. 30 years is a big jump though, we've barely just escaped DOS and modern Unix is barely that different it does games and Internet and word processing and operation, wow so progressive. Quantum woo from scientists? How ironic. Quantum computing isn't even verified as possible yet and MIT still has a wager out. The only QC possible is a hit and run lossy calculations this far.
Nuclear war and anti-cultural dominance would be far more likely in current climate. Especially with the aid of 3D printed artillery. Not everyone's a techno-escapist and western population becomes overweighted, chaos radicalism expands until all life on earth is desecrated. Page one, the end.

Good luck. ;)
I could see it happening

I like to reach for the stars!
Also, I shall be Galactic Empress, so just make sure you stay in my good books ;)
-
I will be in Trixsie's good books.
-
Working for the government as forensic IT specialist XD
-
Being arrested by the government because someone found my plans for world domination on my computer.
-
"Oops"
-
I would be living it large as a brain encased in a cybernetic animal body
-
I will be in Trixsie's good books.
I will be making a list and checking it twice.
Tick tock people!

I would be living it large as a brain encased in a cybernetic animal body
Even tho it has nothing to do with it, it does make me think about System shock
