Far in the deep reaches of space, the Galaxy has become more than a just place of curiosity, but a place of adventure and prosperity. Stories are often hitting the news of brave pilots and explorers who come back from the depths of space having discovered new systems and bring back strange artefacts.
For some guys starting out though it can be tough, but there's always a demand somewhere for some new kid looking to make a lucky break.
This roleplay is going to play out in acts, I've got a story I'm going to lead along, but feel free to improvise because tat's what makes it interesting. To kick us off though, Act-1 will take place on a space station and will involve the recruitment of roleplayers. That way we can start and if someone catches interest, they can still join in early. Feel free to improvise in how you come across one another. That's part of the fun.
Rules:
Feel free to Improvise, but keep to the story idea.
Feel free to plot plot-twists or conspire with others through PM.
No multiple characters
No flawless characters
No Godmodding
No being aggressive or reclusive
No realising you have any powers unless you PM me about them first.
There's nothing that bothers me more in a RP when someone starts melding with the shadows or emerges from the dark and starts talking about "you've never had it hard because my father was a demon of the shadow lands - I have to fight you now or try and sound dark and powerful at the same time. I'm going to go back to the shadows so I don't have to invole myself with the RP but save everyone when the action happens" That ticks me off.

Appearance: mid-late 20s, heavy jacket, too casual looking for a ship captain

Strengths: Courageous, Quick Thinking
Weaknesses: Not the Strongest, Can be too trusting
Background: Perry's life long dream has been to explore the stars. After a few good solid years of working hard, He's finally saved up the cash to buy his own ship to venture into space (even if it just needs a bit of work). It's been exciting, but funds are running dry and honey moon period is past. it's time to look for a crew and a job.
Weapons (if any): An old laser pistol that could do with replacing soonish.

Name: Caspar Thansan.
Species: White Lion.
Appearance: He looks like he is in his early teens, about 14 or 15. He wears a World War 2 Trench Coat, a red long-sleeved t-shirt and black skinny jeans with black boots. His sand-coloured mane extends down to his shoulders, his eyes are hazelnut brown. hid fur is cream-coloured, he is six foot tall.
Position on a ship: Janitor.
Strengths: Skilled mathematician and physicist, he is hard working and empathic.
Weaknesses: Insecure of his own abilities, he is somewhat shy and is socially awkward.
Background: Capsar grew up in a poor neighbourhood, his parents barely having the money to feed themselves. His natural aptitude for science and mathematics evident, he wants to get a degree and a well-paid job to support his family. His parents are unable to afford to put him into secondary school, so he is taking menial jobs on ships to save up enough money.
Weapons (if any): None.

I just managed to see this today. I'm a big fan of the Sc-fi genre as it lets me introduce a little more than what's just on the planet they're on.
I'm tired at the moment, so my character description won't be shiny and all. It might actually be rusty. Very rusty.
Name: Terran
Species: Velociraptor
Appearance: He is currently twenty one years old. His body is mainly covered in gray feathers. The back of his head, which has feathers growing backwards a bit, is covered in blue feathers, just like the tip of his tail. His hands and feet, which are featherless, so they're just scales, are plain black. He also wears a simple tech suit that is one solid color: White.
Position on ship: Technician
Strengths: Able to keep calm under stressful situations. Also, he immediately goes to think about his choices in some situations instead of just winging it and hoping for the best. Even though he is incapable of fighting close range, he is pretty decent with long to medium range as he did practice using a gun with his father when he was younger
Weakness: He has the tendency to be a "little" clumsy at times. Also, he has an rare issue with having a big mouth, and that causes him to say something offensive at times. Also, even though he has claws, teeth and looks like he could kill, fighting isn't something he can do. Mainly because he hasn't ever been in a fist fight as a kid before
Back-Story: Terran was born in a simple family that could manage their selves without much of a problem. Eventually, the day came where he had to move out and go live on his own instead of feeding off of his family's earnings constantly. So he was off out into the open world, prepared to live his own life and some credits his parents gave to him. The problem was that he was left with nothing other than his suit and his knowledge about technology. After thinking while sitting in a hotel room he rented with the credits, he came up with a plan. A plan to join a crew to explore space. To him, it was a great idea. He would be able to use his skills with technology, explore the vacuum of space, meet a few new people and even get the chance to quit being so shy around those he didn't know. It was perfect! All he has to do now is find the right crew to join and hope everything went smooth from there.
Weapons: I consider anything that his sharp and is capable of damaging skin, a weapon. So his natural things (Claws and Teeth). Also, do you mind if this changes when he is on the ship?

Name: Reice Mundus
Species: Serpent Jackal Hybrid
Appearance:
Even though he's a Lizard Mammal hybrid, he doesn't have scales, just fur, webbing, and the tongue and eyes of a lizard. His tongue is a bluish purple tinge of gray, the webbing, or "wings" as he calls them, is black and dark red.
His eyes are dark bluegreen. The fur on his body is a bright but subtle orange. Theres a small scar on his forearm and a discoloration by his left eye. Reice stands at 6' 5" but is usually sitting, slouched, or feral which makes him 2' 6".
His body is built but not heavyily built, just about 217 pounds. By subtle I mean it has a dark tint but the color is relatively bright.
Position on a ship: Package / Shipment Manager
Strengths:
For someone as big as him, Reice is pretty flexible and can fit through some tight spaces.
Reice has trined in fighting arts so he can break certain objects without hurting himself. (Thin wood, Soft Plastic, Thin Glass and extremely thin concrete) Reice can lift and carry other people and big boxes.
Weaknesses:
He doesn't have good shooting ability, He can't fly anything, he can't see far, and he often overanalyzes.
Background:
Everyone in Reice's family was rich except for his brother and sister. Reice often sent money to them so they could live by themselves instead of moving in with his parents, who often seemed disappointed in them because of that option. Reice eventually moved out with alot of the money and gave it to his siblings. It was his entitlement from helping and it was on his father's will, so he figured he'd take it early and do something good with it. Reice grew up a nice guy even though his parents wanted him to be a liar who sucked money from their 'slaves' and workers. Reice peacefully refuses fighting anyone unless he keeps getting pestered. He isn't easily annoyed but if he's hungry or really tired he has less tolerance than normal.
Working for a space corps used to be a slim chance for Reice but he prevered through school and all the misbelievers and eventually found his position at a space station. Now he just hopes he can get a full position somewhere, with a real crew and better than some of these mercs he often travels with. Reice also has a hobby of reading about ships and repairing them and making them but he never really learned how to do all of that.
Weapons (if any): Reice carries a long, white nightstick. He always carries his green Crowbar since he works with pakages.
I think I described more of his personality than his bio. Is it still good though?

Hey, I just saw your RP's started and I'm a big fan of Sci Fi ^_^ So uh, yeah here's my character sheet... Sorry it's a bit over-detailed, I tend to do that > < Let me know if anything needs changing :)
Name: Misha Soryan
Species: Ly'Trah (Painted Otter)
Appearance: Painted otters are a species rarely seen in much of the galaxy any more, save the outer rim. Misha is in her early 20's and bears their typically distinct appearance, most notable light brown fur with complex markings down her arms, thighs and tail. These markings eventually meld into the lighter cream-coloured fur of her stomach and chest, making a final appearance across her cheeks and muzzle. It is said that no two painted otters have the same markings, and it is true that they do often vary wildly in shape and pattern. Misha's typically resemble tribalistic swirls and spots, almost like a snow leopard.
Besides the obvious appearances of her species Misha is at least pleasant to the eye albeit, as some might call her, a little chubby. With much of her weight in her hips and thick thighs, she has a curvy figure and soft round face with keen blue eyes. Her long dark hair is almost always tied back into a single plait and she wears the fairly simple clothes of the outer rim: a grey quilted jacket and light tan leggings with high sturdy boots. Around her waist is strapped a belt of small pouches and a satchel of supplies and personal items. The only jewellery she wears is a traditional outer-rim engraved metal choker around her throat, matched with similar bands around her wrists and ankles.
Position on a ship: Doctor / Medical Advisor
Strengths: A quick mind, confidence and open honesty. Those who gain her trust will seldom find it lost.
Weaknesses: Her own honesty and almost naive take on the galaxy sometimes leaves her in trouble, coupled with an almost shy quietness means she often tries to avoid confrontation where possible.
Background: Life in the outer rim has always historically been a hard life, throughout the ages. For Misha this was no different and what little of her early life she will talk about was a struggle. For her an escape from this harsh frontier came in the form of a medical license. Earned through what little funds she had and hard training, a doctor will often find a ship in need of their services. Since then she has flitted between crews, stopping off at stations only to find another. It was in this way she came to the Castea Space port, once again in search of a ship.
Weapons: None
Companion: 'Bee-too' a second, or possibly even third or fourth, hand medical droid of the mass-produced B-2X series. Disc-shaped and around the size of your palm; fitted with a miniature antigrav motor as well as a multitude of appendages, surgical implements and single blue optic-lens. The B-2X are a widely used series of droid for those in need of a portable medical assistant. When not in use 'he', for the little droid has over the years acquired a quirky attitude which Misha insists could only be male, slots into a small recess in her belt for recharging.

I've read everything that happened while I was gone and realized I'm pretty far behind now. So I have an idea to make my character become active again.
What I had in mind was for Terran to witness the small group walking over to the soon to be impounded ship. After looking at them he ask if they're a crew and will proceed to ask to join the crew and it will just go on from there.
Does that sound good to you guys?

Name: Jeffrey Lee Hightower
Species: Corsac fox
Position: Weapons expert
Appearance: Wears a sleek hardsuit in a military camouflage with a helmet that can collapse into his neck-guard, with Small red slits for eyes, an on-board computer, and a small, low power shield generator.
Jeffrey Has tan fur covering all of his body, except for a “tattoo” (that is, his fur was modified to grow in a black color there) of his old Halia Peacekeeping Force regiment. He has heterochromia in his left eye (a gold color), and his right eye is the most common color among Halians, a dark grey color.
Strengths: Quick witted, has been trained so that operating most rifles (be they laser, plasma, or ballistic) is muscle memory
Weaknesses: Tends to come to assumptions quickly, and he will not hesitate to leave you behind if it means saving his own skin
Background: Jeffrey was born on Halia, a former earth colony, to a family of armed servicemen. He followed in his father’s footsteps, and joined the HPF. He his tour, rising to the rank of sergeant. Eventually, there was a conflict, and Jeffrey was forced to fight. And he did. His dedication to his cause wavered as the war dragged on, until he decided that the army life was no longer for him, and he deserted (he won’t tell you that, though). The strain of war left them unable to hire bounty hunters for his arrest, but if he does return to Halia, he will most likely be put to death. He was supposed to be a career soldier, but that ended when he deserted. He saw becoming a mercenary as one of his best options of employment.
Weapons: A standard issue SWS MPR-10 Motorized pulse rifle, and a Haliana BR-5 ballistic revolver

Your writing, particularly the bit about the H-trams, reminds me of something from Terry Pratchett's Discworld or The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy :P

I love sci fi and I love the British sense of humour.
Hhgttg will probably hold a bit of influence in my writing, lol.

Fun Fact: the title Cloud Wolf is reference to a series of fantasy novels I read years ago about a land where sky pirates flew on flying boats.

I've been in ropleplays where you need it and where you don't and ones where you do often get caught up.
