Scenario: War brews between two great nations and the smaller - Iara - is struggling under the cost of such a huge war. With a small population and a budget to match the Iaran people invest in a magic based spartan program coded MAGIS. The program involved bypassing a huge amount of ethical boundaries and a large propaganda campaign was used to prepare the Iaran people for the program.
The MAGIS program involved removing the strongest of the slum children from their homes at very young ages and subjecting them to various experimental magic enhancing procedures. Taught only to obey orders and with their abilities suppressed outside of the testing chambers, the former slum children are forced to comply with the lives being handed down to them else they be shot by the armed soldiers that make up the majority of the whitewashed facility's population.
Will the experiments simply die like has been happening a lot recently? Or will they become the god-like soldiers they suspect they are being trained to be?
Plot stuff/criteria: So before the actual story in the brave new world begins, there will be a segment in the white labs and cell rooms where the characters - at this point reduced to mere numbers - will have time to work themselves out. During this time it is advisable that characters comply with orders. Each character should start in his/her padded cell room. If you like, have your own nameless soldier take you somewhere. Meeting up isn't essential until the plot happens.
From that point the story is mainly involved with character development and relations etc.
BUT! And this is the important bit - the point is to have fun and shape the story how you, the Players, want it to be. If I wanted a rigid plot for all this I'd write a story myself. But I don't. Um.
I'm no good at this am I...? It's my first time starting an RP, lay off me. OH! Remember to keep an eye on any other RP's you're in.

From this point on any tests being done on the players' characters are nonspecific. Just make stuff up and so long as it sounds sciencey it's fine!
I've not mentioned this but there's a communal area for the experiments to socialise between wings A, B, etc. (Naturally under the keen eyes o' the guards). Feel free to drop in there before going to central, if you've been called. Feel free to add nondescript experiments and/or whatnot for the purposes of making the place seem populated and explorable.

On the contrary, my mind is full of ideas and plans for things to do, but the order requirement is kind of throwing me off. Serpington doesn't appear to be that active, and last time he posted, you made a post after him, keeping me from posting until a few turns after. I understand the idea and why you would want to do it, but it just doesn't work very easily.

As for Serp's apparent lack of activity let's just wait for him a little while. Maybe we can discuss plot options or sommat here while we wait. My net is shaky too. I saw him on and posting in Shattered Spirits IC awhile ago but he suddenly left without a trace. I'm sure all will be explained in due time.
At any rate let's not jump crazily. If Serp can't stay on then we'll ask him after a week or so...? Three days is a good waiting period, I guess one person can ask him what's going on by then.
I know we had some good momentum going but we can still have fun in the OOC section. Let's support each other a little.

I'm sorry for the sudden chaos. It was one of my tests, and it's interesting seeing your different reactions to it. It's what makes RP fun.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm certainly not lacking on ideas. I have tons to go around, and about a dozen well-planned rounds of engaging storytelling coming. However, the fun of RPs is that you can never expect what's going to happen, and the story often evolves in interesting ways, and I look forward to seeing all of your future posts.

Thanks, Enigir. I basically took a few special power ideas, put them into a short list, and thought of a story for each of them. Mind control was by far the best one. After coming up with a basic outline for the plot, I thought to myself; "So I'm going to find out the power, and later escape the facility. Now how am I going to do this while causing as much chaos possible?" And beyond that it was pretty easy.
However, nitpicking my own work, it appears I left out the period at the end, so that just lost me some self-respect points, and I was wondering if the power I had is too OP? It's not as bad as being able to set people on fire at will, but certainly worse than being able to bend shadows.
