I voted pansexual because I'm attracted to flute players.
No, but really, I am pretty much attracted to all genders and identities but... I have preferences.  I see myself more attracted to the female form.... but it's not always that way.  Sometimes a cute guy with a squeezable butt and some muscles (not too much... but toned) can attract me.  Definatly, a swimmers build would be ideal.
I can tell you I'm not attracted to bipolar people who don't take their medication... like the last partner I had.

Post by: FaeMinx on May 22, 2014, 08:12:47 PM
I'm on tapatalk, I can neither see nor vote on the poll...  :(

If I were God I would recreate reality without humans, or at least, no humans that develop beyond the age of about 10 physically... and without any sex organs... they would be androgynous or feminine in expression... the vast majority of beings however would be adorable little creatures like myself - sexless as we are not technically physical and do not reproduce as such... I have no idea what category that puts me in...

Fae, depending on whether or not you're attracted to other people, I think you'd be pansexual or asexual.

I'm no expert, though, so don't quote me on that.

^ that's actually kinda neat! Never heard of that until now, but it seems cool.
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014
Post by: FaeMinx on May 22, 2014, 08:50:46 PM
Well I don't find humans attractive. Human children can be endearing and inoffensive. Of the two sexes human females are less offensive. I once upon a time thought I was attracted to some people, but later realised I was projecting aspects of my true self I was in denial about... so over the past few years I've cured myself of looking for completion in external expressions... if a human being flirts with me I find it a bit strange, but I try to be polite. I'm not going to explain right now what it is I am attracted to because it's a bit hard to put into words... but I will say that is does reside in the essence of all beings, but is rather 'rare' or 'thin' in this reality.

=~. O =
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014
Post by: Vulpatrino on May 22, 2014, 08:55:14 PM
^ ...um... you're kinda weird... (No offense)

I'd say you're asexual, so you don't find anything arousing, but could fall in love (I think that's the definition). However, you also don't seem to like finding anything in anyone else, so maybe not even that.
Maybe you're just limited to platonic love?
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014
Post by: FaeMinx on May 22, 2014, 09:08:31 PM
I think what it boils down to is that I am already in love with beings that don't technically exist in this reality, but aren't excluded from it. I also know that I am one of these beings, while also am currently existing as a human. The majority of my compulsions and awareness are centered in this human experience, yet pivotal and essential aspects of my consciousness are undeniably originating in a place Not. Of. This. World.... dum dum duuum... <.<

Asexual, pretty much. I normally say straight or demisexual, but I'm not completely sure. I'm much more into cuddling with my mate, but I am definitely not opposed to "doing stuff" with him. The enjoyment I get from it is almost purely from his enjoyment. So we're both happy. XD

Evnamishko: I thought asexual meant that you don't 'feel' anything, in the sense that you don't get feelings for another person on the 'sensual' plane. You don't get feelings from sensual touches or such? Someone who has no sexual feelings or the like?
Meaning also if you get enjoyment from your mate, that means you do get enjoyment either way, thus wouldn't be asexual. (Also, it seems to help people more btw if they enjoy they're mate having fun, than focussing too much on themselves.)

Also: Hi again Evnamishko :) Hope you've been doing well ^^

BillyBobGeorge:
Yup, gay is not only for males, but females too. I guess the words heterosexual and homosexual would have perhaps been a bit better for consistency with writing, but eh :)

Mr.Razot: Hey, hope you're doing well too ^^

No, asexuality means you don't have the urge to have sex, and don't have any real sexual attraction, basically. I don't feel pleasure from the act myself. My enjoyment doesn't come from the feelings of sex, but that my partner enjoys it. Cuddling has nothing to do with sex at a basic level.

Now, there are different types of asexuality in humans that actually does describe what you're saying, but that's not mine.
Let's go with a"Tumblrite" label. I'm asexual hetero-romantic. What you're describing is pretty much asexual aromantic, probably with another goofy Latin word slapped on. I can't remember. :P

Only if he identifies as male. Either way, it wouldn't resolve his conundrum. Cisgender just means you identify as the determinate sex you are born as, like me. It often has little to do with sexual attraction.

Well the way Alpha phrased his post could be interpreted in two ways- he prefers to be Male or that he prefers to like men. I Interpreted it as the first. I don't know about the second, though.

Let's clear things up.  I apologize for poor wording.
I'm am Cisgender, I've never questioned that
I am bisexual however I have a very strong preference for males.
I like number so I'll use number to explain it

On a scale of one to ten
1.  Completely attracted to opposite sex
5.  Attracted to both genders equally
10 completely attracted to same gender

I would rank myself an 8
Closer to ten means more attracted to same gender.
Hope this clears things up

Thanks, that does clear it up. ^_^

The thing about all these terms for things is that they were assigned in an effort to classify every thing as something specific, when real life is very diverse and mixed. However, if I were to put a classification on what you describe, I guess it would be a sort of Bisexual/Homosexual but the term doesn't really matter. As the saying goes, it's what's inside that counts. *pokes alpha on the chest*

Labels help us identify ourselves to others. But they can also limit us. The truth is human sexuality is far more fluid that most people think. And while we do not choose who we are attracted to, who we are attracted to can change over time, giving it the appearance of a choice. This could be as subtle as suddenly liking someone with blond hair instead of brown, or as extreme as suddenly being attracted to someone of the same or different sex.

Like I mentioned, human sexuality is so fluid that on one can really say with any certainty what they are exactly. We're just who we are, and people should just leave it at that. This need of the human race to compartmentalize everything, to fit everything into it's own neat little category, is so counterproductive. As you say, it works against us.

I only identify myself as a bisexual because it helps others understand me a bit better, but not even that word "bisexual" is accurate.

I don't care much whats in your pants, I can work well with both sets of equipment. For me to even get close to that point I have already made up my mind on weather or not a love you, so whats down there is really secondary.

love is not going to be determined by whats down there...cause frankly that's a short lived part of most normal relationships, and eventually the parts just don't work properly anymore after a good number of years. But the thing that will remain more or less constant is their personalities. Personalities and the person that has them are what I love.

Ive dated men, ive dated a woman.... Ive done X rated things with both, ones not better than the other, they are just different IMO.

Ugh.. this is a tad difficult to say, usually I just say bisexual because in my opinion it is much easier to explain to people, but I think in the roots I am more or less pansexual because I don't really care what my partner would be as long as I feel comfortable and happy with that fellow.

I'm bi or pan, i don't care about what someone has but I've never really talked to anyone outside of male and female. (I don't know how to word it, but I hope you know what I mean)
IRL males usually think of me as a brother and unfortunately females tend to stay away from me.
I'm not very well liked...

Bisexual is probably more accurate, though there's an element of pansexual as well. I'm attracted to masculine/feminine and not to other gender identities specifically, but I haven't been deterred in the past when dating someone trans and might not be deterred in other situations, either.

Grey Asexual = a person who does not usually experience sexual attraction.

It implies I'm into everyone of one/two genders or all genders. That would imply I like select gender(s) no matter what they looked like but you could look like anything or neither, no one looks the same nor is that representative of gender but rather evolution... What if I'm also more attracted to character than appearances? It just seems stereotypical to me and I don't see how that works unless you've grown up in certain cultures. Abstracts aren't real.

Also what if you're a robot, as well? Robots don't need binary gender.

Oh boy... Being attracted to a certain sex or whatever doesn't mean you have to be attracted to every single person who is within that wide group. No one is attracted to people like that. There's way more that people look for in a partner.

But by your description, I'd say you're demisexual. So am I. :P

Statistics are quite interesting.

If you look at my Furry statistics thread (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=19463.msg846627#msg846627) I made a while ago, it actually has the statistics I predicted based on several surveys.

In terms of sexual distribution the statistics were
Quote
Most results found that Bisexuals were the most frequent of sexualities (around 33%) why heterosexuals were close second (around 30%). A lot of furries considered themselves heterosexual with slight bisexual behavior and about 12% considered themselves exclusively homosexual.

which isn't exactly off this thread, so it's cool to see statistics check out.

Making it into another "type" like that implies that people who aren't "demi" are automatically attracted to everyone of their preferred gender. :/

If you're not one person, though and you're dynamic, as well?
Also people's sexuality can vary across race, body build, personality, identified gender, abstracts, lots of things. I think the above poll just rounds things up too much. I don't think anyone can be attracted solely to a specific sex unless they are reductive in a social or biological sense because the brain is ambiguous and reliant on mental reward. If that weren't so other species wouldn't have evolved to have unusual methods and mankind like other species is always evolving with each individual a new tangent from the common ancestor. How can you be attracted to the whole sex if you ae attracted to one member of the same sex but not another? That alone tells me that sexuality is far more complex than being gender biased and can vary from how we see certain individuals but society/pheromones may tell certain people / other species to see that you should be biased. There is no perfect form so no perfect adherence to standards like sex and that creates subjectivity. If no one, say, straight was capable of attraction of the same sex then how is that person capable of subjective envy of appearance and thus possessing a desire to apppear like someone else even without any standard of appearance that is appealing to any one member of the opposite sex? We should also note that people will reject others based on functional fixedness, that means a person would avoid someone who appears attractive purely based on their fetishes or culturally subjective clothing. Fixedness can be fluid and even lacking which I would describe as what can be called pansexuality, which could also include objectum.

I can respect that the defined sexualities help certain people find a certain gender bias they like overall but that's not how I work, at least. Much evidence shows humans especially are overall ambisexual even a single person isn't entirely made up of a single "stereotyped" sex's characteristic genetics.

So while it's possible by abstract perception to feel like you belong to the above categories, I can deduce that I am more complex than the categories above.

I would identify most closely as polysexual, perhaps also semi-demisexual.

Yes, orientation here really means not who you're attracted to based on gender, but who you might be attracted to due to other things which have not be excluded by gender.

It doesn't exclude all the other factors, it's just not measuring them with the concept of orientation.

I think you might be trying to make orientation something which no one claims it to be Kaiyo.

As for evolutionary perspectives, there is plenty of data to show genetic impact on sexual orientation, but not to claim that being gay is adaptive, rather it is an epigenetic phenomenon.  A side effect of being generated by the same genes which do other adaptive things.

Post by: White Wolf Guardian on November 30, 2014, 10:29:05 PM
My only opinion on the identities of genders and what defines masculinity and femininity is that people use terminology not to simply name something, but to name something simply. Labels for ideas that we perceive are shorthand for things we cannot simultaneously comprehend all the time. We have this phrases and names for things we don't want to re-calculate the causality of why something happens over and over again.

What does any of that garble have to do with this topic? Practicality of verbose we use on a daily basis.

When you say something that exceeds biological commodity, ie: man and woman, it becomes a philosophical statement, an idea that only exists in a mental capacity. Imagine using philosophical arguments everytime you bring up your gender and qualities on a daily basis in real life. Is that really practical at all, isn't that only going to cause confusion?

That's why when you bring up something like "agender" "bigender" and other mental concepts, you can't physically see something like that in real life, you can only understand it. To say "bi-sexual" "asexual" "heterosexual" and "homosexual" are argued to be mental concepts, but they really aren't. You can see these concepts played out in biology by some sort of physical presentation, without getting into details, we know they exist.

I'm not saying "don't" use your own philosophy, but using it in real life makes for an impractical conversation, even if you establish a neologism for such a concept, there's so many different nuances to go with such neologisms that when you say "agender" the nuances could be entirely different from the next person.

From my roundabout conversation with myself here, I like to think that establishing "sexuality" is a physical concept, and that "man", "woman", and "hermaphrodite" are also physical concepts all with biological basis. Philosophy is impractical for conversation in real life because of the extreme complication of discussing ideology that changes from person to person. We like to rely upon constants, not variance.

This reminds me of Industrial music pioneer Genesis P Orridge who went through a lot of painful surgery to become what is neither "male" or "female" in gender, but rather "alien sex". Sorry if its off-topic just bringing that on.

I do believe gender is part social construct part biological (there are even evidence that shows that men and women have different mentalities), however this never takes into account that things like hormones and libido can do to people to make them "choose" another sexuality for themselves, largely sexuality is a social construct too, these days and identity (and i'm against identity politics).

Really it shouldn't matter what sexuality people identify with, i always fail to understand what is so frightening about homosexuality (homophobia - the fear of homosexuality), however that word is most often means "hatred" and not "fear", i believe its a cultural thing, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are all lines of the Abrahamic faith, which is what has shaped modern culture and beliefs, however if you were to go down to the pagan era, one would notice that the type of conservatism that we know of today didn't really exist, back then it was pretty much open for everything, slavery, pedophilia, bestiality, etc, there were no "social norms" in the way that we know them now. At least thats how i see it. End of rant.

Just say you're bi. It means the same thing.

I'm not bi.

I think you might be trying to make orientation something which no one claims it to be Kaiyo.

I've only posted my assimilation of sexuality. The proof of attraction was correlated to neural reaction, this was also the case with fetishes and the reason why DSM has excluded many as mental illness, leading even to hate crime protection of these "sexualities". Hormonal response correlates to functional fixedness and pheromones, humans are unknown to use the latter normally. Many people were turned off entirely if the object seemed to be incapable of intelligence or was dead as in sapiosexuality. This shows that sexuality, like any form of intelligence of preference is multifaceted and reliant on numerous variables. Consensus is growing against binary gender. Attraction to looks is first guessed via convention of gender, the mind detects if someone dresses like say a female or a male for many, many were equally turned on purely seeing clothing and it has become an object of transvestism. Attraction to biological function relates more so to personality as studies for those "in the lifestyle" and out have shown, with those picking sexual role purely on how dominant they feel and fetish for the actions and it all involves higher cognition. Non-humans aren't even picky outside of pheromonal hints and naturally aggression levels. There is even evidence of preference of sexuality varying across many dimensions including age and species since after all, humans are genetically linked to other humans but also more distantly animals (regressive convergence).

There's more than three sexes or any other abstract in a quantum universe, estimations are what create labels. The provided labels aren't dynamic enough for me. I am a physicalist, conventional metaphysics is further from reality than dynamics and far more philosophical as opposed to mathematical.
I'd note that any statement is philosophical, whether right or wrong. It's just not right for me. Hermaphroditism isn't even included above and can be considered another sex, male and female aren't absolutes as many species and individuals will prove. Hermaphroditism has many blends. Male/female biology isn't absolute and historically were from the same thing, there are many theories and all suggest more than 2 sexes. There is also the lack of sex entirely as agenesis and there is an attraction to this. In the modern era, in reproduction for humans, surrogacy involves 3 roles which denotes there can be more than 2 roles distributed across persons, technically, in functional reproduction. This reflects the concept of prehistoric parasitical hosts which is very likely where reproduction originated from, which corresponds to the survivalistic viral hybridism many early Eukaryotes did in contrast to the cannibalistic theory.

So I'd estimate myself as polysexual.

I would refer to my paper about physicalism and why it is basically the same thing as epiphenomenalism, but I realize there's not much textbook following here, I just tried to show a different perspective.

There seems to be a belief that gender is a social construct, but physically that doesn't seem to make any sense.

Sexuality is also believed to be a social construct, but I think the misnomer lies in that people only want to recognize some sexualities as physically based.

Generally speaking I believe most of the gender-identity nuances to be from the "Tumblr Religion", but I find it too complicated for practical application.
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014

No you got it wrong, gender isn't how you are based on your apperance, or even how you think, gender means when people apply artificial visions to a sex (Like women loves using make up and wearing dress, and men loves facial hair and working hard, thats gender). And sexuality is fully a social construct, you're right though because some people view heterosexuality or whatever as being the normal standard, thats not reality though animals have evolved to try a universe of sexual desires, if you get what i mean.   Personally i don't mind going to both sexes, however i do mind when they try to be a gender that don't match to their sex, thats not sexist, neither is being homosexual sexist, because its a personal attraction.

Just so everyone gets it straight:

Bisexual: loves both sexes, only when they have their original gender identities
Pansexual: loves any sexes, no matter what gender identity they may identify with.

And then you can apply "romantic" or "sexual" at the end to disguise between romantic feelings and sexual attraction, though thats minor if you ask me.

I think that's the common misconception about what gender is these days, people want to include "mannerism" with gender to make gender a social construct, but it isn't the same thing.

Gender is biologically described.

Mannerism is a social construct attached to mental capacities. The way someone is or prefers certain things, the philosophical perspective that is commonly tied up between "masculinity" and "femininity", but people feel the need to change mannerism into millions of pieces "or remove it entirely" by concept of the ideal agender person. When you include this into gender and/or sexualities, as is commonly chosen, it makes no sense at all.

Masculinity and femininity are constantly looked at as evil perceptions these days, but it's not really an evil thing to label a common constant that is frequent throughout society and his been for thousands of years; people are generally feminine or masculine, so this general understanding of what those concepts are, helps people find their "niche", either by modifying or accepting only those options to suit their philosophical needs.

Words are constructs and a conceptual invention of cultural beliefs. The standard of gender differs from biological sex, this is a core argument in transgenderism (in contrast to transsexuality). Though, long ago gender and sex both referred to the same thing. Everything is physical, biology describes physical functionality of organism, therefore definitively you can class all of life's doing as biological workings from a fatalistic perspective. But this dismisses entropy / free will which extends beyond existing mechanism and permits an individual to create a basis for future evolution, your great great great grandchildren may be nothing like humans are today. The gender/sex argument is a definist issue pertaining to the natural fallacy..

*rolls eyes*

You don't know how lucky you are BillyBob! 1/2 jk

I agree in part Kaiyo, people use sex and gender interchangeably and one is almost pure biology while the other is almost pure culture.  To me sexual orientation is clearly seen in cases where someone loves another person and wished they were sexually attracted but are unable to be due to the sex of the person they love.  It is a preference which defies desire.

As for words being constructs, certainly all my sociology professors would agree, but it is far from settled and too off topic but Steven Pinker makes a convincing argument against that.

I agree that it is intertwined with the naturalistic fallacy, but not always in the simple case of misuse by homophobes  "it's unnatural" but in the general distaste of the Humanites to allow biology to enter discussions of behaviour and pre-empt the possible use of the naturalistic fallacy by waving aside nature as though we're somehow beyond all that now, rather than just calling it when it is used. (but that's a whole other hobby horse of mine)

I don't follow your point on entropy/free will.  It might be worth taking to another thread or PM however.  I think I know what you meant but I'm not sure... arguments for why determinism does not equal fatalism are not for the feint of heart! XD

@BillyBobJoeGeorge
You / the science may (or may not, to point) change. You've changed once/many times and there's nothing static about your current quantum structure, we're all matter. There's nothing eternally concrete about anyone's current sense of being, whether current/previous/future perceptions be more or less right in some school of thought. The example was applied to the evolution, the purpose connected to sexual "reproduction".

@Trixsie Vixen:
The words change across languages, cultures and eras, right now, many countries have a different vision. The logic is relative to the function role, this is what arises gender stereotypes.

I mentioned entropy because entropy always affects change to the existing system. For every step in a organised system's actions (organism) there is a uncertainty of direction. Biological function does not entirely determine how it will come to action, for example there is no prewritten framework to govern my actions dynamically that can be applied to everyone. We all have our own minds, sexuality can be dynamic as there are not many extreme physical forces involved but rather complex cognition leading to uncertainty. Whereas, we can be statistically be more certain that a overwhelming force will lead to an inevitable result in respect to cover_area. This is why the "I am abstract A therefore I can only do what abstract A can do" is presuming as abstracts don't account entirely for the complexity of facts, even though "Fact A is true therefore fact A is true" is correct which leads to far more certainty. If you want a thread for this that's up to you, I'm just explaining the reasoning to my response which in turn showed reason which appears to be continuously argued. I was excluded.

My perception of sexuality is far more complex than what the polls suggest, I am not bi and polysexuality is defined just as much as the rest. I can add I hace just as much right to my sexual preference as anyone else as a individual.
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014

I'm pretty sure this poll was an improvement over the last one.  Polysexual seems to be the type which I felt was missing but didn't know a name for.  It rejects the gender binary of bisexuality, but doesn't assume the gender blindness of pansexuality.  The sweet spot between the two.  Or possibly a type which bi and pan could be seen as the two extremes of.

I have been toying with, changing from bi to pan, one seems too narrow but the other one too broad for me.

Hmmm, I guess I'm polysexual in 2015 then.

Ah, the age old argument of nature vs nurture, is gender nature or nurture?

WELL, I have to say, like almost everything, it is probably both. Basically, genes describe who you are and how your personality relates, there may be a sexuality gene or a cluster of genes that loosely come to form sexuality, as well as your gender. The thing is that you have many genes that remain unactivated, they only activate under certain environmental conditions such as large amounts of stress or something like that. So the actual stuff comes from the genes, but sometimes only these genes activate under some condition that forms from your environment, ie: gender is both a physical thing and a social thing, it probably comes from some physical chemistry that you must have in order to be of a specific gender, but the chemistry may only "activate" given a series of conditions that are influenced from your environment.

Hmmm... I do think hormone differences (which you either are born with or not) can alter your sexuality to any degree. Anyways i don't buy into the naturalistic argument, sexuality is flexible its not something static, otherwise other animals wouldn't possess homosexual behavior, like i'm really tired of the argument that homosexuality isn't natural when it clearly has been monitored in nature, including sexuality and the ability to be the care taker of children. Anyways i just want to point out that this thread is pointless unless we also include sexual fetishes. ;)

Matt Ridley has a rather good book called Nature Via Nurture.  But in it's absence just that phrase is a useful thing.  As Anoni points out nature and nurture are interdependent.

But this thread is about who identifies as what and so finding a category which isn't covered but people identify as is a valuable exercise.

As for fetishes, well I start by listing mine...

Nah, kidding :D
I think this thread is still valuable without them (though I admit I am curious) and indeed, the subject matter couldn't progress much further without becoming less family friendly.

For a very complex topic within an age restriction Razot has done a great job.  Bring on the 2015 poll!
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014

@anoni:
Genes are the result of the environment, are a component of the environment and are constantly affected by the environment. Evolution is adaption to surroundings. Old or new genes, it doesn't matter, cognition makes the end verdict and that is physically / psychologically reactive. That said, regardless of what you feel, you'll never know what you really like if you were born on an unknown planet as the sole member of your species with no other life but primitive that happens to sustain you.

Your choices aren't genes, to note. A thermonuclear explosion affects your action when it detonates, yet it has little to do with your genes choosing what to do. We're physical beings and our bodies are more like a sub-machine than a standalone thing (technically, no machine is standalone eternal).

We Bisexuals are just sexually attracted to both, its no difference from being hetero or homosexual.
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014
Post by: Renefrade on December 11, 2014, 02:22:49 PM
True enough. But is it usual to not be satisfied by just one gender when one likes both. If one decides to be in a relationship.

I think its simply easy that, "If one likes both, then thats that, that one will be with that person if that person likes that person, even if its this or that gender. So it doesnt matter what gender it is."
I personally think its just, meh i like both equally but if i find one i like then thats about it.

But some have asked if bisexuals really are satisfied with being with just that person since they like both gender.

That's basically the question my friend wondered about.
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014

Just like people of any other sexuality, bisexuals look for more than someone being of a certain wide group such as a gender or sex. It's just that bisexuals basically have a wider range of groups to look within to find "the one". It doesn't necessarily mean they want a person of one gender and a person of the other at the same time.
Title: Re: Sexual Orientation Poll 2014
Post by: IceRaccoon on December 11, 2014, 02:58:29 PM
I think you have confused Bisexuals with something else.

Bisexuals sees sexual attraction to either gender, and could do fine with either. Bi is latin for "both" mean either or, it doesn't necessarily mean that one could do fine with one though, i'm sure you could find variations of bisexuals. You have the ones who would do fine with either a girl or a boy, and then you got polygamous kinds (who i admit...have a feeling for being into) who wants to have as much time with males as with females, honestly i think is something on a more individual basis. Hope that answers your question.

EDIT: That first comment was embarrassing, don't mind it as i was in a bad mood.  :$

To be honest, IceRaccoon, it may be best to give Renefrade time to understand the main explanation before adding more complex stuff into the mix.

Polyamory is the term for being in a relationship of three or more people. That includes any combination of sexes or genders.

Polygamy is the same thing but with marriage, as far as I know.

None of which deal exclusively with bisexuals.

Liking both doesn't automatically mean needing or even wanting to have both.
Ofc I can only speak for myself, but when I'm together with someone I pretty much only have eyes for that person, even tho I could also be attracted to the other gender. I don't feel unsatisfied at all because there's someone who loves me and that's all I'm "asking" for.
I can admit that I sometimes feel a bit like there are some "pieces missing" or something because I've never been together with a female, but even then it's still just a pretty faint and fleeting feeling and not exactly unsatisfaction. I guess it's what them experts would call "curiosity" or something.

I do know a few people who identify as bi and thinks along the lines of "I like both and binding myself to only one will take away so much from me, so I'll just remain single for now with maybe a few friends with benefits" tho.
Without really having looked into this I'm just going to assume that that's not as common as "I love *someone*, *someone* loves me, we're happy, why would I want someone else?", but weirder things have happened so I could be wrong.

Something which interests me, but I don't know how it could be included or if it's appropriate... (any mod advice welcome here) but I was curious the first time I found out a friend with a particular orientation was a virgin and I couldn't help but think "I'm not sure if what you think you like will seem the same IRL".

So I guess I'm curious about virginity status correlated against orientation to see if there is any pattern.

I know a few proud virgins and some who are embarrassed about it but like this poll generally it's not from a judgmental place.

Thoughts?

This is an interesting point, especially with the cases of those who are more "romantic" about their orientation than sexual. (or those who are rushing to get into a relationship and make an "exception")

I just know i'm comfortable around most guys, and if I have a special hugging bond. But I seriously don't like approaches or playful acts unless im comfortable with you.
I am two sided with all women. The "I wanna be her friend" and "She's so pretty i'm crushing"
And lastly, theres the orientation... Am I straight? Bisexual? Attention Seeker? or Gender Confused?
I don't know honestly. Im comfortable with myself buuuut I am oddly attracted to alot of things.

I think that neglects the fact you can have sex without love and love without sex (which is also why romantic orientation can be a separate thing from sexual orientation).

I could ramble incoherently for hours about why demisexuality is a cool thing and why love vs attraction vs sex aren't necessarily all wrapped up in the same descriptor but that's boring, so instead I'll just make farting noises. BBbbbbbbbt.

I know someone who is demisexual, and i can definitely relate since both my ex and i feels that, cant have sex with anyone before falling in love... It just feels off...

He's also grey romantic which is another way of saying can only: A gray-romantic (grey-romantic) is a person with a romantic orientation that is somewhere between aromantic and romantic.

For example, a gray-romantic may:

Experience romantic attraction but not very often.
Experience romantic attraction, but not desire romantic relationships.
Desire relationships which are not quite platonic and not quite romantic.

One type of gray-romantic is called demiromantic. Demiromantics do not experience primary romantic attraction for a person, but are capable of experiencing secondary romantic attraction after forming an emotional connection.

Gray-romantics may also prefix a gender orientation to the label, as in "Gray-heteroromantic".
