    RUNNIN AWAY (Chapter One)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

           I fell asleep somewhere around nine P.M. A slight nudge woke me around midnight, I looked up and saw a pair of emerald eyes watching mine. It was him again... I nodded, picking up my pack and getting down on all fours. His midnight coat gleamed. I ran my hands through it, feeling him tnse beneath me and I shhivered.  He turned back and his eyes told me "Follow silently."

We took off, the stars watching over us and the moon shining her light only enough for him to see. When we were far enough from the suburbs;  an ebony fox with ruby eyes fell in step with us, sniffing the air every few minutes. She seemed tense and upset; like something had gone wrong...

We were close to our target when they stopped and looked at me, signalling it was time for me to do my job. I crawled up higher and howled mourndully, knowing the little girl would come to me. She loked out, her turqiouse eyes catching my saphires; she nodded and motioned for us to come in.

The fox crawled out of the bushes and rolled over, her stomach exposed.  The wolf did the same then got up and looked back at me quizzically. I whimpered and walked out; touching my hand to my belly and whistling. Karen smiled at me and bekoned us to come in,  pointing to the two doors behind her. He disappeared into the black one and Ebony into the green. I followed Midnight into the red room and curled up next to hid head, purring softly.

He lay his head on my belly, his eyes glowed gently as he spoke; "I've missed you Saphir. Did your family survive or did the 'Accident' cause them too much pain? How do you feel about them?" I growled and turned my eyes away. "They couldn't bare to look at me again. My friends started to wonder why I wouldn't invite them over to my house and Ebony came to school with me one day, driving my teachers and classmates bonkers."

Ebony, upon hearing her name,  came in and laid across my legs; loking up at me warmly. "Saphir, dearest, when did your 'family' finlally kick you out?" She spat family like it was poison. "When they got news you had followed me to school and stayed by me all day; it drove them up the wall!" I winked, an evil smile spreading on my lips. "And it was the best ten minutes I've had since the finding out about the 'Accident'."

Karen came in a few minutes later and snuggled up to Mid's back, looking at my bare abs. "So are you gonna try and still be a human or are you gonna embrace Reins' proposal and go to school with Karo and Vorsith? Or continue runnin with the Haslft Abstrungs?" "I dunno. They seemed alright and I really like Vorsith, but the Haslft Abstrungs need me..."

Why is it always so hard to talk in human and easy in Animais? {An-i-may-is}I thought, purring halphheartedly. I heard tapping and went to the window, my saphire eyes reflecting the light of a flashlight. The human jumped and grunted. It crawled to the basement window and tapped on the glass. I glared debating whether to open it or not.

"Who are you and what do you want?" I hissed, opening the grate above the window and yanking it in. "My name is Azu and I'd appreaciate it if you wouldn't yank me around." He spat, looking around. Ebony and Midnight snarled, both their eyes flashing angrily. I snarled back. "Explain why you were snooping around my house and I might not kill you!" I growled, agitated and ready to shed some bllod if the need arose.

"I snuck over here because I heard you were gonna run away and I thought you were awesome last Thursday. If you're gonna leave; you might want to take someone with you, beast tamer." He slowly carressed my face and kissed my cheek, smiling at me. I shook him off. "No human could ever possibly look at me the same after they find out about me fully." I replied, stepping back and motioning for Karen to turn the lights on.

My nose grew into a muzzle, my teeth grew slightly longer. I got down on all fours and let my instincts take over; my fingers turned to paws, nails to claws. A tail sprouted from my lower back, dark brown and blonde fur sprouted from everywhere. My legs shortened and my eyes flashed faintly. I loked up at him, tears streaming down my face. "Do you see what I mean? I'm a Haslft Abstrung-- a Halph-Blood. Do you fear me or do you envy me?" He reached his left hand out and stroked my muzzle softly.

"I adore her, she's beautiful. Where's the fox?" Ebony walked over and sat, her eyes still flashing. She glared at him suspiciously. "Is there another fox/wolf/human/furry around?" He asked, running his hands through the fur on my back, I shivered. Midnight walked over proudly and glared diapprovingly at Azu. He reached his right hand out and began scratching Mid's ears. Karen watched, trembling.

I turned and whistled; "It's alright. He's trustable. Smell him if you need to but I trust the boy." Azu smiled encouragingly at her and nodded his head slightly. "I won't hurt you or your friends. I like you, it's been a while since I've met another pack..." He barked, his Animais needing wrk but very good for a human.

I turned back into a human and glared at him angrily. "Where were you learned Animais? It's een forbidden since humans were born. Who learned you?!" I spat seethily. He looked down sheepishly and blushed; after all, I wasn't wearing any clothes. "I followed you and listened to yours. I wanted to talk to you and I coudn't figure out how. I'm sorry." I pulled his chin up and forced him to look at me. "I admire a human willing to learn my tongue to talk to me but if I find out you're misusing it, I'll slit your throat my self and Amina High will never find your body, got it Kadevar?"

He nodded and I smiled, walking overto light switch and flicking it off. I curled up in my spot and whimpered. Mid and Eb came over and lay back where they were. Karen went to Mid's back and curled up, mewing softly; Azu lay under my head, curled into a little ball. I purred softly, happy to have a warm place to sleep for once.

Alright, im not ffin playin. if youre gonna read it tell me wat u think. dont just read it then do somethin else. i WANT to hear you out and listen to wat you have to say. i enjoy the critisism.

... WOW ... i can't beleive how well it's written... you better try to publish it... jeez... if i was that good i don't no what i would do... i love it alot canm't wait to find out what comes next... there more right?

           A NEW PACK

            I woke around seven early that morning; getting dressed silently and pushing the chores out of the way. Azu was curled up against Midnights' paws and Eb had curled around him protectivly. I smiled. So cute. I thought, my world a little bit brighter. A snarl ensued from the door. I opened it and touched my stomach, mocking respect.

"Hey Saphirblih. Where's Ebonholtx and Mittennaught? Saphirblih, are you alright?" Vorsith asked; touching his abs and reaching towards me. I fell, muttering ang snarling. "What have you been doin now?" He inquired, his eyes quizzically worried. I blinked up at him and stole a few steps back. Why is it always me? Ebony walked over, her human being; of course; naked. Vorsith, knowing he'd already earned himself a few kicks when we got to school looked at the floor. "Good mournin, Ebonholtx. Is Mittennauht awake yet?"

Azu chose that time to wake up and come see what all the noise was about, looking from me to him and back; confusion written all over his small face. "Who's he?" He growled, sliding his arm around my shoulder protectively. I nodded at Vor. and slipped out of Azus' grip. "THis is Vorsith and this is Azu. You two play nice now." I smiled, walking out and dragging Eb with me. We dissappeared into the other room. "Do you think Vor. or Azu better? I like them both equal but Vor.s a little shady...." I whispered, winking at her and smiling knowingly.

"Well I think Vors intentions are to protect the good of our pack and Azu wants to be learned of our ways so I have to say Vor. Ask karen and Mitten too..." She replied, winking and frowning; deep in thought. I walked out and grabbed my bag, running out the door and racing off to the town square. "So invigorating." I whispered, breathing calmly despite my running four miles. The buildings were different here. Amina High was a new beginning. I walked up the steps proudly, not caring what the locals thought of me, as far as they ere concerned, I was a ghost. I passed the office and walked into a dark looking classroom. The teacher looked up and smiled at me.

"Ahh. Saphir, please be seated. Graham, show her our project and you two are partners." I rolled my eyes slightly and followed the six foot even giant to a clean table in the back, dropping my bag on it and smiling at him warmly. "So where ya from?" His voice was throaty, southern and sweet. Vey nice. "Transfer. Been here since last night. You a local?" I asked, my eyes flashing quietly. He stared for a moment at my eyes then nodded, a smile creeping across his lips. "Great, can you help me wih something?" I sat down and ducked my head, a spitwad hitting the wall where my head was. I turned and snarled at the girl who shot it. "Do it again, I dare you." She stuck her tongue out at me and I whipped outr of my seat, grabbing her and growling at her. "You try that again and I'll cut it out, got that rookie? Anyone else wanna start it with me?" I shouted, glaring icily at the entire room.

She gulped, the teacher looked at me and winked. "Please come up here and tell us a little bit about yourself Saphir."  I winked back, climbing onto the table and smiling mischeiviously. (Sp?) "My name is Saphir, I came her for one reason: To bond with a few of you and make my past learned. If you are scared of me, good. If not, you will become soon enough." I sat on top of it and swung my legs idly. Graham walked up to me and whispered in my ear.

"Ahh, I see. What a bore it must be. I live on my surroundings. Don't expect me to invite you to a party at my house or anything like that. I live in the forests of this country, going where I please and showing up amng you when I feel the need to. I have one traveling companion and she has been with me since the accident that stole my family." I whistled and watched as a few kids gasped. Ebony had climbed into the window, and was now standing beside me, snarling at all the kids. "Shh, Eb. Calm down. THey mean you no harm. This is Ebony, she's still a wild animal. She will attack you if provoked and she enjoys playing with her food before she eats it."

I smiled, pulling out my lighter and my calvary sword, lighting it and holding it against her neck, letting her lick the blade. "See, she's harmless. Mr. Crookshanks, I would like to say that I will enjoy being in this class with all these bright young kids, as long as my companion stays with me. She goes, I go." I got onto her back and ran to the back, whistling. "Ohh for she was my mother once, I took her under my wing. She kept me safe at night, when I couldn't sing."

The kids laughed nervously and gasped when she rubbed against a boys leg, purring softly. "Name?" "B-Br-Brandon. What's se doing?" She stopped and looked at me, her eyes watery. "She wantsyou to pet her. Go on." I said, smiling at him and getting off. He nervously reached out and she took hold of his hand, nibbling on it lightly.

"She likes you. That's strange. Most animals hate Brandon." Graham said and several kids nodded. "Hmm...Ebony, watcha think?" She let go of him and licked my face, leaving a scorth mark. I pointed to a scar under my left eye. "See this?" He nodded,  terrified and stark white. "Pyro swords. I almost cut out my eye. THis is very dangerous and I don't want anyone gettin any ideas from me. I can handle everything." I cried, taking the sword, lighting it again and swallowing it.

i might later, HELLP!! WRITERS BLOCK!! need ideas, my heads gonna explode...ill post another story if you like...but it has some mild language in it...

             STORMS INSIDE

          I was watching out the window silently when I heard a snarl beind me. I turned and saw Eb holding some poor girl in her jaws, her teeth already deep in them. "Ohh god, Eb. Put her down. NOW!" I hissed, snarling back quietly. She dropped her and lared icily at me. 'I stopped her from attacking you, little one.' "Try to attack me will you? I'll fix you." I snapped, pulling Galan out and leaning him dangerously close to her neck. "He loves blood, and fear. One wrong move and I'll let him go." She nodded slowly, her eyes rolling around.

"Good girl. Now Eb, sit. Trans." Ebony morphed into a falcon and perched on my shoulder, digging her talons into me. I didn't even wince but some of the kids screamed loudly. "Don't move, I'll kill her. i'm not afraid to shed some blood today." THey all went back to work, all white and shaking. Graham walked up to me and gently took the idiotic girl from me. "Keep that stupid kid away from me or I'll split her open like a melon."

I turned and slowly stalked out of the classroom, walking calmly to the side doors and exiting the building, sending Eb to the house again and sitting on the trunk of a tree. My eyes shifted from one shadow to another as I waited for others to show...

A short time later, a jaguar with sleek black fur approached me and bowed low. "MiLady, may I help you?" I opened my mouth to snarl but changed it to a smirk. "Yes you may.  I need a guide..." I leaned closer and whispered my destination. He nodded and started to the west. "This way, MiLady." Smiling, I followed, muttering under my breath...
