Unfortunately, I have some negative news to post.
With a heavy heart, I have to announce the death of Shawn Parret-Simano, also known as razi, on 23rd February 2014, at the age of 42.
Many of our newer members may not remember razi, but her impact was felt here on the forums as well as a wider area. Shawn was one of the first pro-developers on IMVU and focussed on producing furry skins and accessories, many have used her creations.
A talented artist, Shawn made huge impacts to this forum in its opening years by increasing members within months of her joining. She, for a time, was a staff member here and through this and other business ventures I have had the pleasure to work with a talented, friendly and amazing individual.
Though in the past few years, due to work committments Shawn left the forums, she was a constant face in IRC (as Ceiling Cat) continually watching. She also aided in server costs when she could.
My condolences go out to her husband Russell (WynterPayne) who was with her at the end.

RIP...
It's always sad to see someone go :/
-
Ah, I saw your status about this on Facebook but didn't realize who it was. She was cool from what I knew of her and definitely a great artist.
My condolences to WynterPayne for his loss. May she rest in peace.

If you can tell payne...she was a wonderfully brilliant person. Tell him there is no goodbyes...there is only "see you later."
I know there is nothing I can truly say to show how we "all" feel, Only actions speak louder then words. And what better action is there then to spread her glorious name thought this fandom/this world and do what she would have done..
Oui, c'est la vie

Though I've been here since nearly the beginning of the forum and being there on IMVU when Razi was first growing as a developer, I never had much of a chance to speak to her personally. Regardless, I was very grateful for what she did for the forum and I know she was a wonderfully creative person. I'm very sad to hear she's gone and offer my deepest condolences to Winter.

She was an amazing person. Although I got on her nerves with my stupid obsessions, she was always willing to help me and defend me. She had such a kind, sweet heart, and she will be greatly missed. I still remember the skin she made for me. I was made up with it for weeks!
My deepest sympathies to you, Wynter. I can't even imagine what this must be like to you.
Rest in Peace, gorgeous. I bet you make one of the prettiest Angels <3

*tears up* I never knew razi, but I'd imagine I would have liked to.
This is heart breaking news.
Rest in peace razi. You will be missed
*tears freeze over*

I remember talking to her very briefly on the IRC a few times, but never really got to know her. Of course, CeilingCat was always silently watching.
The last chapter of her life has closed, but the impact of her story lives on in the hearts and minds of loved ones, as well as in the history of our community.
Rest in peace, razi.

Most people probably do not remember me, but me and razi worked very hard together on this forum back in the day to make it a success. Razi was a shining star and I was always grateful that I got the chance to be near her and work with her. :(
She was there during a time in my life that helped form the person who I have become, and I wish I had gotten to tell her how much of a difference she helped make in my life. I am very saddened by razis passing, and I am glad I got to meet her and wynter both in rl while there was a chance.
Whenever I think of razi, I wlll remember her red hair and her love she had for wynter. My heart goes out to everyone in her family that has been effected by this tragedy, and to razi: even though the song has ended, your melody shall linger on...

*Fidgets with a set of bagpipes* Dammit, they don't make these things for people like me! *Finally manages to get the bagpipes in the appropriate posisition after much more fidgiting and swearing, and begins playing a sad funeral march tune.*
Though I did not know her, I would have loved the chance to. May she be remembered always in the hearts and minds of those that loved and cared for her.
I'd like to propose an update to the site banner, not a large one, but maybe just a bit of text in the corner reading "In loving memory of Shawn "Razi" Parret-Simano. XXXX - 2014"
-
Aw, that's too bad. I just joined today, but this is heartbreaking news. Always sad to lose a fellow furry comrade.
May her spirit rest in peace. </3

Man, I've been so busy with things outside of here that I've not had a chance to see this announcement until today. I wondered what had happened to her. I wish her family to have the much needed recovery from grief as soon as possible as this will be a trying time for them.
-
Oh geeze, seconded, Vosur. This is so unfortunate to hear. She was an amazing person. D:
-
My love goes out to them, that is never fun to go through...
-
I can't believe it... I used to talk to her and I only just found out...
Rest In Peace
I'll miss you, you were amazing

Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.
Let it not be a death but completeness.
Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.
Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings over the nest.
Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night.
Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last words in silence.
I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way.
~Rabindranath Tagore
.... You will live on on our hearts forever, razi. And Wynterpayne.... I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy losing someone you love. But she'll always be with you... in your memories of her, in her work.... and in your heart.

Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me
And loving me tonight
Somewhere out there
Someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
In that big somewhere out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

I don't know anything about Shawn.
But I am still tearing up just looking at the impact she had on the lives of others.

-
I am so sorry for this loss, although I do not know her...
May she rest in peace.

It sounds like she has battled lots of demons in her life already.
If church and finding god helps her out, more power to her.
