Title: Interesting things to add.
Post by: Shinzuu Katame: Her Tolfy on January 20, 2014, 03:35:06 PM
Okay, so we all are familiar, more or less, on the most common and basic recipes. But there are things from our cultures or experimentation that is just a little extra to turn something from everyday to extraordinary. Let's all share here!

Also, if you're looking for something that hasn't been listed, feel free to ask how you can brighten up your "plain" dish!

I'll start with 2.

This one's for those who never read my other thread:
When you have peanut butter and jelly, don't use jelly, and use refrigerated condensed milk.

This 2nd one is basic, but very easy for anyone to make.
If you eat ramen noodles, go to your local supermarket and pick up a bottle of Sesame Oil. In a serving size of 1 packet, add and mix in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil JUST BEFORE you eat it (after cooking, put in bowl and mixing in the flavouring).

Add sugar to of of drinks, including soda.
and some cereal, maybe rice.
it works 'cause i dump it on almost on everything.
because most of the things i eat are sweet-like.
Maybe that's just me.

And un-melted butter on toast i'm a fan of.

What a lot of people don't realize that instant ramen noodles can taste very delicious and gourmet with just a little bit of sesame oil

Try mixing Honey Bunches of Oats (the actual one with honey-clustered granola, and not any of the others) with Honey Nut Cheerios. Believe it or not, it lightens up the HBOO and actually adds a little more health benefit than eating them individually. Plus, your jaw muscles won't hurt from chewing HBOO if you have a weak jaw.

1) vinegar with sweet cereal and milk, ugh!
2) too much vinegar now and you'll eventually lose your sense of taste by mid-age.

Adding some curry powder to most minced meat-dishes makes them taste and smell better...

For a simple 6 bucks, you can get a nice bottle of Srirachi hot sauce. Goes good with broiled chicken, no need for any other ingredients. XD

Most people think broiled chicken has no flavour, but Srirachi's spices actually extract the chicken's delicious, natural taste and even enhances it! It's even moreso for chicken thighs, but beware the high oil concentration!
