Fighting wouldn't be enough. Spreading the truth of his family had done nothing to help Helios either. He had one last option. Much as he loathed it, he had to do it. With a heavy sigh he pushed open the door. The entire bar came to a stop when he entered. The Scopes were a notorious family of thieves who ran the biggest gang in all of Erthos. Only he and Luna were trying to clear the name. The barkeep stared at Helios. Helios took the glares as he got up onto the stage in the center of the room. "You've no reason to trust me. My family has brought you nothing but trouble...." He sighed heavily once more. "But I want to end that. My family has disowned me, because I stood against them. I come to you now though and ask, but one thing of you. Lend me your hand that we might over through my family. I know where their hideout is know their strengths and weaknesses. The journey there will be dangerous, but if you help me then I promise you I will repay you." He stepped down. Helios was terrible with words, but he hoped someone anyone would follow him.
-
Soria was enjoying a warm half-pint of milk when the loud lynx came barging into the bar. She wasn't particular to helping others as she was to helping herself. However, his family thieves was one of the most notorious, and to take them down would bring her more prestige. It's true that she is still developing her magic, but she still had to continue on to become the greatest.
-
Her gold eyes scanned the room, awaiting an uproar. As it seemed, however, as much as many despised the Scopes family, they didn't appear too eager to take them down either. The smallest flicker of movement in a few furs stood as the answer for those who would help.
Of course, Luna was more than happy to do so. Her mate deserved the freedom it would give him. And, just maybe, she'd discover her own truth along the way. She took her feet down and swung off the barstool where she had been lounging in a dark corner and began slowly moving toward Helios. "Those who wish to come along, speak now," as she moved closer to the center where he waited, she waved a paw lazily. "We don't like waiting much." she added. She jumped to sit on the stage next to Helios, placing a paw on his shoulder. "There's lots to be done. Besides, who doesn't like a little adventure?" A smile tugged at her mouth as she once more looked around the room, the whispers darting amusing her.
-
It was always her words that would draw others to follow. Those words, that smile is what he fell in love with. He saw a couple furs move, a few even made eye contact and so he knew there was hope. She was right though he hated to wait and time clearly wasn't a luxury they could afford. With a smile to Luna he headed to the door with a single pause right at the door. "I'll be in town one day. One! After that I'm going to leave. Anyone who wants to come with meet me on the east side of town at dawn." Without another word he left. He knew Luna was right behind him, and that's all he needed yo keep going. Plus he knew his family would know more about Luna's past. They'd hand picked Luna expecting her to be a puppet they could use to control Helios. Never did they expect her to encourage him. Still he was hopeful someone would show in the morning.
-
Soria waited for Helios and the kitsune to leave before she got up and dropped some money for her food. She kept a close eye on the pair and trailed them in the shadows. The cat saw no real purpose to really reveal herself unless she had to. Besides, he was still a Scopes, and she couldn't trust him as far as she could throw him. Soria's nature as a feline has always made her cautious, and situations like this are particularly more applicable for such a nature. Let's see how genuine this kid really is...
-
Luna pulled one of her daggers from her hip as they walked, well aware of more than a couple furs following them. She casually played with the tip of it against a pad on her paw, humming softly. When they finally got to the inn that they were staying at for the night, she leaned against the wall. They stood in a small patch of grass where even fewer flowers grew wild. She glanced down at them sadly. "It's a shame that things like this aren't more appreciated," With a sigh, she turned her attention back to her ivory dagger. "So, who do you think is coming?" she murmured.
-
"It's hard to say. Some looked interested, but with how our lucks been none will follow just like the last six towns." He frowned at the thought of his last few failures. How could he not. Town after town he and Luna had been shunned even chased out of in several cases. He embraced his lover in a kiss knowing full well that prying eyes were most likely upon them and that some may even take this opportunity to strike at them. That of course would have been a huge mistake. Still the two stood out in the moon light waiting for dawn. It wold be another sleepless night.
-
Soria followed the two for the next couple days as they ventured from town to town. As per Helios's fear, many had tried to sneak behind the couple and kill them, but Soria stepped in with a counter coup. She would sneak up behind them as they tried to be incognito in sneaking up on Helios and Luna, and then she would collapse the ground below them and bury them alive or if they were on rooftop, she would surround them in steam and then turn up the heat to instantly dehydrate them while they stop to find out where to step next. The cat continued to watch them from a distance, becoming more and more convinced of his genuine feelings of taking out his family.
-
Helios grew tired of waiting for anyone. Luna kept swearing someone was following them and so he'd let her prove it. The final night before they hit the road he wondered around town on his own Luna tagging behind him and in the shadows. Others might be able out sneak him, but at night, under the cover of the moonlight Luna was virtually undetectable. He knew she was there and even he couldn't find her. As he round a final corner he felt the presence Luna must have been speaking of because the tripped up and in a moment Helios had his blade and dagger drawn ready to fight.
-
Soria continued to follow Helios through the streets, but stopped when he did. When she noticed him drawing his weapons, she smirked and stood straight up so that she went from melding with the building's shadow to being defined within the moonlight. "So you finally noticed, huh? I've been following you since back in the bar at Boreas. I wanted to see if you were genuine about your statement or not before I introduced myself. I've kept the night hunters off of you for the time since." The cat jumped down from her high perch and used her water/earth magic to turn the muddy floor below her into a gelatin-like bubble and landed gently before returning the floor to normal. She bowed with respect,"My name's Soria Xing, of the Takazawa Clan. I'm not well known out here in the central areas, but I can assure you that I can be invaluable to your cause."
-
"And you've proved that well by now, I only half knew you were there," Luna murmured in the feline's ear as she silently stepped behind her from a nearby buildings shadow. She had already drawn her ivory dagger and carefully held it centimeters away from her neck, her free arm holding her in a strong embrace. "You'd do well not to give us reason to mistrust you, however." With a small growl, she carefully stepped to Helios' side, watching the graceful Soria. "We're glad to have you. Why are you joining us, if I may?" she kept her dagger in her paw, smiling at the moonlight's beautiful lighting on the trio. This feline was obviously worth teaming with, but they all had their reasons, and curiosity tended to eat at Luna's mind.
-
Helios watched the two silently afraid to say a word. This Soria seemed helpful enough, but she had a look in her eyes not unlike his older brothers. One that screamed for power. Still they needed help in any form they could find. Luna was tense, even when he placed his arms around her waist. Soria seemed tense herself, and all Helios could do was wince and hope the two girls would sort this out before one of the locals showed up.
-
When she heard the words in her ear, Soria had dropped her hands and brought up spikes from the ground, ready to strike if this kitsune really meant to kill her. However, she had let go so she, too, retracted her natural weapons. Looks like this bitch is the one I'm going to have to mind more than the Scopes. Luna was quite attractive, in her own right, but she had an attitude that turned Soria off, the same as hers. "Why don't we get a move on, then? I'm sure you won't find anymore people interested in helping you. There's more who want you dead for just your family name."
-
"Indeed, you're right in that," Luna sighed. She and Helios had tried so many times but no one seemed willing. A couple furs in each town seemed wanting to but when it came time to leave, no one showed. She looked to Helios for his word on where to head before turning her attention back to Soria. "Your magic is beautiful," she murmured. "Two thieves and a magic user. It'll be a fun adventure."
-
Thief, it was a word he hated more than any other. Still he had no other choice, it was the only skills he'd ever had. He expected some fights would brake out between the girls, but he was prepared to handle it. He'd hoped some muscle would have joined in the adventure, but no luck. Still if Soria's magic was as powerful as it had just appeared to be he had no fear. "Tomorrow morning we leave and head north. Sadly the reason my family has never been torn down is because we are only a face. The person really running the show is one of the High King's Barons. Lord Grithyx of the Winter. Take him down and the so called Scopes Empire will fall."
-
Soria sighed, "So it's that bastard, huh?" Inwardly, she smiled even more as killing Grithyx would bring her prestige to god-like proportions. It would no doubt gain her recognition into the 10 Magical Pillars, the most recognized magic users in the world. She then looked around at the other two, realizing she had just daydreamed for a minute, "Are we just going to sleep in the streets tonight or are we going to find an inn?"
-
"We should probably just stay out here," Luna looked up to the sky, gauging time. "It might be a bad idea to hit an inn. We haven't had much luck in the past with them." She chuckled and looked around. Under the moonlight, she could see a forest ahead. It seemed fairly dense, but there was no doubt a clearing somewhere. She made this aware to the two beside her and left the decision to Helios as she began wandering to look at puddles where the moon's silver blood rippled throughout, basking in its beauty happily.
-
Helios sighed heavily and simply wandered into the forest until he finally found a clearing. He proceeded to throw himself on the ground. He’d spent weeks trying to figure out a way to get help and after all this a measly one fur had joined him. No matter he was too tired to think on it and let sleep over come him as he felt Luna lay beside him.
In the morning he stretched out loudly before gearing up. He sat propped against a log waiting for the girls to wake up. As he sat a whet stone in one hand his long sword in the other he contemplated his course of action. We could head straight to battle Grithyx, sure but are we really ready? As Helios sat thinking on it he noticed a strange fur lurking just beyond his camp site, an enemy perhaps, an ally less likely. Whoever it was he didn’t care. Whether the fur would act, or Luna or Soria would grow tired of it he didn’t really care he’d let them handle it. A few hares scampered across the opening where they were staying and Helios easily eliminated them with a few of his throwing knives. Breakfast is served. He smiled to himself.
-
Sitting quietly behind a bush, Muffinz gazed towards the camp. Assessing the situation. He had been following them for a few days now, trying to see if they were worthy of trusting. After several hours of indecision he finally decided that it was better to show himself, he needed to find a group after all. He called into the air loudly "Hello, I am coming out slowly nothing to be worried about". He slowly got up from the bush in which he was hiding in, and held the bow over his head as a sign of peace. Hopefully they will be accepting, he thought worriedly to himself.
-
Soria followed Helios and Luna into the clearing, keeping her distance since it seemed like she was intruding on the couple, though she was pretty sure that they had just met back at the bar several days before. She found a spot elsewhere at the clearing and curled up by herself. Once she was comfortable, Soria slammed her wand into the ground and brought up a shell of solid earth around her. The cat slept into the next morning at peace, slowly waking up from the sight of sunlight coming from the little pin-sized hole she left in the side of the shell. She sat up and stretched with a yawn as the shell crumbled around her. Soria smacked her lips, still a bit groggy, and her ears twitching from the sound of a newcomer. It was the first night in several days that she's had a restful sleep so she wasn't exactly on the alert yet.
-
Luna groaned and rolled into a half-sitting position with the morning light. She had always hated sleeping on the ground as it made her body ache. With a screaming of her muscles, she forced herself to her knees and yawned. Upon hearing a new voice, she opened her eyes fully and stood as she unsheathed a dagger slowly. She watched the unfamiliar fur come from behind a bush with his weapon raised over his head. She relaxed a bit, not many even did this sign of peace anymore intentionally, and he actually seemed genuine. The look of worry on his face told her he was no threat. She glanced at Helios as he turned his attention from the rabbits and looked back to the fur. She raised her dagger before quickly pulling it back into a defensive position.
"Hello, stranger. My name is Luna, and this is my husband, Helios. And she is our...new friend," she motioned toward Soria with a paw, unsure if she would approve of her name being thrown out. Luna didn't really care and knew Helios didn't, if there were any problems they could just kill the one causing them. She carefully watched the fox, calling out, "Who are you? Why were you hiding?"
-
“Luna, don’t bite the poor kids head off.” Helios said with a chuckle. “It would seem a night on the ground has left my wife in a most irritable mood. Come sit with me.” He started roasting the rabbits he’d caught giving the first to Luna. The next he gave to Soria, then finally one for himself. He left a final one for the new fur before diving into his food watching the furs every move. He looked the kid up and down and nodded in a small amount at the gear he was wearing. The leather was a beautiful black and seemed to be made for him. Seems he at least knows what it means to work for what you have. The daggers that were on his hips were beyond well made, hell they were damn near exquisite as was the bow on his back. Definitely family weapons you just don’t see them made that way. The kid certainly had some experience under his belt, but would it be what the kid needed. “Anyway do you have any idea what you are getting into kid? This isn’t pretend like you’d play at home.”
-
Muffinz enters the camp slowly, paying heed to the female in the corner. "I am not your enemy no need to fear me." He said slowly, trying not too alarm anybody. "When confronted by the female he explains that showing oneself prematurely is a mistake that I have once made, and I wish to not repeat it." He relaxes when the male announces it is all right. Looking throughout the camp he notices that everyone is exceptionally well armed. The female known as luna had daggers that rivaled even his own, and a bow that was equally imposing. He was also very impressed with the magical powers that Soria used whenever seemingly possible. It was obvious that they were a powerful bunch and would be worthy allies.
Muffinz remained silent for several minutes until everyone had finished eating breakfast. Grateful for the meal he thanked them. When questioned about what he was getting into he replied simply. "I have no where else to go, and I am looking for a group of furs that I can trust with my life. The others seemed skeptical at first but he hoped that they would eventually learn to trust him.
-
Soria yawned and stretched some before walking slowly over to get the rabbit from Helios, holstering her wand on her thigh and readjusting her staff behind her on the strap that was loosely fastened to her sash. The cat sat down by the fire and just nibbled away. Soria wasn't big on meat, but it was still a necessary nutrition in her daily diet. After she finished eating, she looked over to Helios, "So what's the plan, oh fearless leader? I hope you aren't thinking of jumping head first towards Grithyx. We're far from strong enough to take him down at this time. I have 4 elements of magic, but they each only go up to mid-level. My specialty is in mixing them together to get special-type spells. Grithyx is one of the 10 Magical Pillars. We're barely a match for him breaking wind."
-
(sorry for my late post, and sorry its going to be short. I've had a very busy two days >< )
"It's going to be a long journey there as it is," Luna threw in, sitting next to her husband. "Maybe, hopefully, we'll pick up some new recruits along the way as well." She looked down at her dagger, running a pad along its sharpness. She turned her attention back to the new fur. "Hey, we never got your name," she smiled.
-
*Nearby, a white wolf with a large pelt cloak wrapped around him wandered. He had no where important to be, and was gradually making his way towards the nearby town in search of adventure. Little did he know, he was about to stumble upon the camp of some soon to be very important adventurers...*
-
It was a new day, and still she was yet to find the company she sought. I never should have let him leave, Maine thought. But then she wondered whether it was her that had left.
It had been too long. She sighed.
There was no point in staying, she packed her things and entered the grizzly streets. Maine furled her cloak around her shoulders, as the air still held a chill to the skin. A few souls floated here and there, the morning was quiet; whispers only of mice. She purchased a small loaf of bread nearby, still steaming from the oven.
Approaching the gate, the dense forest sprawled beyond the field. She wandered past the entrance, greeting the guard as she went.
The forest would have been almost as silent, if it weren't for the chorus of birds.
In the not-so-far distance, she spotted a tall white figure, looming between trees. She waved, reaching her hand up high.
Albeit, it's attention seemed to be directed elsewhere.
-
"What's with you and names?" Helios chuckled lightly at his wife's remarks. "Soria is right though. We are in no position to make straight for Grithyx. But I do know that to the north west there is a city about a fortnights travel from us. There we should find Rith and Treva, twin sisters how run the bulk of the supply chain for Grithyx. We'll need some supplies of our own, so Soria how about you and I head into town and Luna can stay with the new fur to see if he'll be able to hold his own?" Luna gave him a glare. She hated being away from him for long, though something told him she disliked the idea even more because Soria would be with him.
-
Soria nodded, "I guess that should be okay. I still have a few supplies on me, but not enough for a fortnight's hike. Let's go." As she left with Helios, Soria looked back at Luna, who's been rude ever since they met, and smirked at her, mouthing the word "bitch". The cat felt no particular attraction to Helios since she was more into women, but it wasn't bad to throw it into the face of those with no respect. Soria was raised into a society of warriors who live by honor and respect, and those who don't have them normally deserve death, but this is at least a small time she could be a bit of a child she never got to be.
-
(You skipped Muffinz, Shinzuu)
Luna shook her head. A small fire lit inside her, after all this feline was the one who had followed them for so long without so much as properly introducing herself. Of course Luna would make sure she knew she had crossed them in the beginning. She had already tried to compliment this female, but obviously she was intent on fueling problems. Ah well, she mused, turning back to the new companion.
"As Helios said earlier, this isn't going to be easy." she met the furs eyes carefully. "I have a feeling you're wonderful with that bow, but that you're a bit clumsy with the blades. Show me what you can do," she motioned to a thinner tree on the edge of the clearing. "We've got a while to train before we hit the big guy."
-
(it's ok that you skipped, stuff happens ^_^ )
Muffinz looks around the camp uncomfortably. Upon the request of the his name, he blushed telling Luna, and Helios that he really didn't really have a name other than a nickname given to him a long time ago by the baker, "Muffinz". The two laughed but didn't seem to really care about this ridiculous title.
After Soria, and Helios left Muffinz began to train with Luna. He easily hit the small tree near the edge of the clearing with his bow, but struggled to consistently hit the tree with his knives. Muffinz turns to Luna and asks "Do you have any tips on how I can hone my skills?"
-
*Zack eventually notices the not too distant figure waving at him, and waves back. He they approaches the figure, who turned out to be a blue-furred female hare. He greeted her warmly* "Hail, good lady. I am Sir Zackary Vann, or just Zack, if it is all the same to you. Never been one for the formality of being a knight, myself."
-
The figure snapped his head in Maine's direction, and casually approached. It eventually became clearer; an arctic wolf with a thick draped around his shoulders. He seemed friendly enough, opening conversation. She felt he was an honest soul, and saw no reason to hide her own identity.
Maine held out a paw."We'll keep at Zack, eh?" She smiled. "And a knight, you say? 'Tis a pleasure meeting you! Although, I cannot say I have nearly as an impressive title, I am known as Maine the Wanderer. May I ask where you are headed? I wasn't sure I'd see anyone on the road this early."
-
The trip in was fast. Helios wasn't one to waste time and he certainly didn't want to be away from Luna any longer then he had to be. Soria seemed helpful enough as the went from store to store buying bread, bed rolls, backpacks, a few canteens, and several medical kits. Helios not only payed, but often over paid the owners by close to ten gold in each shop. It wasn't much, but it was a start to make amends for the wrongs of his his family. "Anything you think we need before we leave?" Helios asked Soria.
-
Soria followed Helios back to town and refreshed what little supplies she actually needed. When Helios asked about additional supplies they might need, she thought for a moment before answering, "Well, I'm pretty sure we picked up another straggler, and my mind thinks we might pick up a few more. And even if we don't, it'd be good to pick up some emergency rations, just in case." With that, she left first, leaving Helios to decide how much to take. The cat didn't have much money on her and wasn't about to waste what little was left. That was for their "fearless leader" to do.
-
*Zack shakes Maine's paw firmly* "The pleasure is my, good lady. I am also a wanderer. A "good" mercenary, if you would. I was headed to the nearby town in hopes of finding adventure. Perhaps you are looking for adventure as well? The world is full of injustice, and not enough people to kick its arse- err... Defeat it, I mean."
-
Luna half-smiled at Muffinz, satisfied that her thoughts were correct. How coincidental was it that he carried the same weapon combo as she? She uncrossed her arms and pulled out her daggers.
"Honestly, I like to hold one of mine in a reverse grip," she showed him in her left paw, as she was right-pawed. She bent at the knees ever so slightly and lifted her other dagger in a slightly slanted traditional grip. She began slashing at the same tree, leaving quick, deep gashes across the trunk. She stopped after a few seconds and turned to make sure he was watching. "Stay light on your feet, move quick, keep calm and controlled," she raised a brow and repeated the movements at a slow-motion rate.
-
Maine shrugged and smiled, "Well, I've just come from the town, but I wouldn't mind doubling-back." She had nowhere of purpose to be,
"Besides, I could use the company, and I don't mind some action here or there." She chuckled, "I've always been handy with these two."
Maine pulled back her cloak, flashing the sheathed swords on her left.
"Shall we be off then?" She turned on her heels and faced the town once more.
-
Not one to waste time Helios quickly gathered a bit more supplies for his team then started to snoop around town. Most of the locals gave him scowls as he wandered about but it was no worry. The few people who didn't seem to instantly despise him were shady to say the least. He'd searched the town high and low before finally giving in with a heavy sigh. As he started back to the camp site he saw them. A large arctic wolf and a smaller blue hare. they seemed well equipped and both had a look of wanting. Helios approached the two at the gate to the town they were entering through. Thankfully enough Soria was there as well. Excuse me, sir, ma'am, if I could have but a moment of your time?" Helios gave a pleading look. These two could surely help them.
-
Muffinz watches Luna intently. She was very skilled with her dual daggers. Although he didn't like holding the daggers in reverse grip at first after about 30 minutes of practice he started to get used to it. He ran up to another tree, pulled out his daggers and began to practice. Pushing himself too hard he slipped and dropped his dagger almost cutting his paw. Luna laughed and looked away. Muffinz tried not to be embarrassed but he definitely felt like a fool.
-
Soria had merely ignored the two and was walking past when she heard Helios coming in and wanting to talk to them. His tone made her shake her head, sounding like he was extremely desperate to get anyone to join their party. "You go on with your little spiel, I'll be heading back to camp." The cat was still a good amount tired from the last several nights of not sleeping. Even when she was conserving her extra reserves of energy from just her natural species, she had spent everything, and was now still recovering. Soria hoped they wouldn't have too big of a fight coming up since she would only be at about 40%, 60% at best. Magic was a tough business, especially ones who are physically deficient like her.
-
*Zack was about to accept Maine's proposal to enter town together when they were approached by a lynx* "Hail, sir Lynx. I have many moments, if you desire them, and my friend here seems to as well. I listen with open ears."
-
Maine kept a small eye out for his companion as she skulked past, but she offered no trouble. She seemed too weary anyway.
She brought her attention back to the lynx.
"Indeed, and as do I." Maine again offered her paw to a stranger. "What name may we call you by, good sir? And what you want with us?"
-
Luna smiled at Muffinz and stifled a giggle. She grabbed his paw gently and turned it over, making sure he wasn't cut anywhere. Upon her satisfactory inspection, she looked up at the sky. Narrowing her eyes, she sniffed and frowned. "A storm is coming soon," she told her companion. "Keep practicing, at least until it starts. You're getting better by the minute," she murmured.
-
"You may call me Helios. As for what I ask of you... Well I suppose all I'm really asking is that you help me take down the Scopes Criminal Empire" Helios awaited a response from the two furs while watching the sky. the clouds began to grow an ominous dark grey, and all around him Helios noticed wild animals scurrying to cover. The pet's of the locals began to bark and hiss uncontrollably and the wind was howling. He was barely able to stand when he caught in his eye what was causing the havoc. He turned to Zack and Maine and frowned. "If you intend to help me follow me. We need to get to my camp quickly. Something big is coming this way and it won't be pretty." With those few words Helios took off for his camp.
-
Muffinz practiced for several minutes longer until a sudden burst of wind knocked him down. Looking up he realized that what at first seemed like a small storm had transformed into a violent and dangerous whirlwind. Quickly scampering to his feet and heading towards the woods screaming out, "Luna get to the woods!" The trees howled above but not far off was a cave. He decided to take refuge here until the storm passed.
-
*Zack notices the winds picking up* "Hmmm, quite right... Well lucky for you, we seem to be looking for adventure. Please lead on. Are you coming with, Ms. Maine?" *I say as I start to follow Helios to his nearby camp*
-
"In this weather I'm not we have much of a choice but to follow!" Maine pulled her on her hood, her ears never faired well against such bitter weather. "But sure! What's a little heroism here and there? Lead on!" Maine was still a little uneasy about the whole thing, But with the looks of the weather she still had plenty of time to work things out.
-
Without turning to see if the two furs followed him Helios made for the camp in no time flat. As he got there he saw Muffinz heading into a cave. Scooping up Luna who was foolishly standing her ground, into his arms he followed Muffinz into the cave and beckoned Soria and the other two to follow in side. "Hurry the creature mustn't see us or we are doomed!" The Wind began to howl, lightning flashed across the sky and struck the very ground all around the three furs still outside. Helios frowned as he saw a large purple head come out of the clouds. It opened it's large and mighty maw and lightning spilled forth striking the ground powerfully creating scars in the earth. The creature flew overhead it's large black and purple body twisting and turning in flight as it's purplish-blue eyes searched for something.
Several hours passed before the storm subsided and the sky cleared. Helios had never been so afraid in his life though he certainly didn't show it. "I apologize for that. I didn't think my family would be so hellbent on taking me back." Sighing he looked to the four furs who'd joined him now. "What you saw... Is something I thought until last night to only be a tale my family used to scare me into line. That was Azerious the Northern Dragon and one of four who are tied to this world and it's well being. If he is truly under their control then I can only assume the other three belong to other groups as well. But don't trouble yourself with thoughts of him right now. For now how about you introduce yourself and let's talk among ourselves. We will be traveling together for a while so let's get to know each other no?" Helios flashed a smile something he wasn't known for and sat on the floor of the cave setting to work to start a fire. Relaxing he drew his dagger and began to sharpen it with a whet stone from his pack one of the few ways he could honestly relax.
-
Muffinz stared in awe at the massive beast, dominating the sky in its glory. Lightning struck the ground not far from where Muffinz was standing causing him to run into the cave out of sight, and out of harms way. "What in the world is that?" Exclaimed muffinz.
After Helios explained to the encampment the horrors of the beast, Muffinz began to doubt himself, wondering just how dangerous this mission would truly be.
While the others conversed Muffinz sat further away from everyone else not talking. When asked for his name he simply replied, "All I've got is an old nickname, muffinz but think nothing of it". "And you?"
-
((I'm back everyone! I'm sorry if I kept y'all waiting too long. I was at a convention this weekend, and worked last night <3 ))
Luna grumbled when her husband lifted her from where she stood, so swift and easily. She pouted the entire way into the cave despite the lightning that had crashed around the group. As the introductory conversations began, she sat a little closer to the entrance of this cavern. The darkness, besides the fire that Helios had begun, was comforting to her, but not in a confined space. She fidgeted a bit and settled for sitting on her heels. She turned to the group with a half smile. "My name is Luna," she murmured. "If you'd like to know anything, you can ask. I have naught to hide. Oh, and the only thing I'll add, as long as you don't go attacking us or betraying us, know that Helios and I will protect you if the instance arises... to the best of our abilities," she turned back to the outside, staring at the destruction that the beast and its storm had done. Such a shame... destruction to this beautiful land.

*Zack drew his sword and whispered a few lines in Nordic, which caused various runes on his armor to begin to glow faintly as they fled from the beast. His pelt cape flew behind him, revealing his armor to his new companions in the process. They made it to the cave, where he watched the destruction outside. He then introduced himself to the rest of the group, who can now tell he is a knight. After the destruction concluded, he frowned at the dismal sight outside.* "A criminal family who owns a dragon, who is magically bound to do what they say... Well, that is no good. You have a plan to deal with this beast, yes? I'm happy to help, but I am no dragon slayer. I'd rather avoid fighting a dragon head on. Only a fool would try such a thing..."

The energy in the air has changed, she thought. It seemed charged with potential energy. She looked towards the sky, a large, ominous cloud hung above them, writhing and turning as though it were alive. As Maine looked on, a bellowing clap of thunder lit the darkened sky; above the clouds she saw monumental silhouette. A giant pair of wings. A surge of adrenaline rushed through her body, never in her travels had she seen a creature so colossal. She spurred onward. In front of her she could see the other furs also hasten their pace.
Helios called back something, but his voice was washed away in the wind.
Soon Maine could see the opening of a cave, she didn't hesitate to dive inside, away from giant prying eyes. There were two other furs here, she knew none of these people, but she felt safety in numbers.
She wasn't keen on starting conversation under the circumstances. Maine instead spent her time transferring the lingering heat from the lighting strike into a boulder in the cave, one paw to the ground the other on the stone. They might as well stay warm. The energy given off by lightning always intrigued her; So hot, it almost felt cool. The image of the creature behind the cloud continued to flash in her mind.
It wasn't long before Helios piped up, explaining the situation. Maine's heart sank; a dragon. What had they gotten themselves into?
The rest of the furs continued, introducing themselves one by one; Muffinz, and Luna she remembered, Zack and Helios she already knew. The cat was yet to speak. Maine took the opportunity to make herself heard. It was settling to see that Zack also had questions as to the predicament.
"Maine the Wanderer, gifted with transmutation, bound to nowhere or no one. Pleased to meet you all."
She gave a small bow to each, and did not hesitate to back up Zack's queries.
"So Helios, you are tied the Scopes? Family you say? What exactly are we doing out here?"
So could not help the air of worry in her voice.
-
"We are removing the Scopes family from this world or rather the man who really runs the show. But to do that we must first head south to a city called Genlock. There a man named Theritin lives, in a belief that he owns the city. He runs the supply train for the Scopes Gang. As for Azerious, I can only hope that we never have to face him in combat. But I digress let us get a move on, Genlock is a fortnights travel from here by foot and the first few days will be rough."
With that Helios headed into the storm that still ravaged the land surrounding where Azerious had visited the night before. Helios wouldn't let a small storm stop him though. He never looked back to see if the others would follow. He knew Luna would catch up to him soon and Muffinz seemed to admire Luna so no doubt he would follow as well. Zack and Maine seemed like they could go either way, but he had faith they would follow him for a time at least. It was Soria he worried about the most. Soria had her own agenda and it was one Helios had a feeling he wouldn't be able to keep her from.
Dismissing the thought all he could think about was how he had no clue what he would do once he actually got to Genlock. Perhaps it would fall into place, but he couldn't rely on fate forever.
-
(Sorry it's been so long, I had a busy week)
After introducing himself to the group he sat back down in the corner sharpening his daggers. The storm subsided without the presence of the dragon but continued to rage nonetheless. Helios, seemingly fearless, swiftly got up and continued out in the storm beckoning the others to follow. Muffinz got to his feet and began to follow, unsure of what was to come.
-
Soria had arrived in the cave before Helios and their two new companions, but she stayed in the background, resting herself as much as possible. When Helios finally decided to move forward through the storm, she sighed and followed him out. However, she had no interest in getting wet so she took a seed out of her cloak and placed it in her hood. The cat unholstered her wand and placed the top of it against her hood and used her mixed magic, forcing it to grow a large leaf over her head, keep her nice and dry.
-
*Zack wraps his pelt cloak around himself and flips the hood over his head as well. Covered, dry, and warm, he follows the group out of the cave* "Count me in, then. I came seeking adventure, and then it found me. Works for me!"
-
Maine followed close behind Shadis, she felt that the group had potential, even if it had not been fully realised.
Travelling was what she enjoyed most, so for now, that is what she would do with the group.
