Title: Valve Games
Post by: HyenaKing on January 04, 2014, 07:20:43 AM
Personally, my favorites are HL2, Portal 2, and TF2.

How about yours? WHat do you think of the Source/Source 2 Enginge?

HALF-LIFE 1!
Opposing Force,
Blue Shift
and
Counter Strike

Still have to play Half Life 2 though, but I have seen much of it.

I used to love CS:S back before the crap-date was added to it (The one that tried to "ready" us for CS:Goaway). I've logged in 700+ hours into it from this date, back when I owned three communities for it.

I also love the original Half-Life trilogy (HL, Opposing Force, Blue Shift) and also enjoy both Half Life 2 and Episode 2.

Half-Life 1 was so much fun
and I love the improvements that Portal 2 has over Portal 1

I love the GOO
*B-doing*
Bounce! Goo!

L4D2 is underrated, its presentation attracted a pretty bad community, but if you've ever gathered a few friends and played the campaign it's loads of fun!

Personally my favorite was Portal 2.

Especially the part with the goo.

It really makes you think and be interactive with your environment around you, which is wonderful because it strengthens your spacial and logical thinking.

You shush!

We all know Cave Johnson was the best thing to hear in the game.

Especially the rant about lemons. Yes.

L4D2
Killing Floor
CS
CS:CZ
CS:S
CoD: Black Ops
TF2

Surprisingly enough, I didn't enjoy HL2 much.

Why U No Like HL2?
Title: Re: Valve Games
Post by: Alistair on January 06, 2014, 04:58:40 AM
To be honest HL2 wasn't very appealing to me either.

I'm still playing HL2 and i ejoy it, but not as much as i thought.
Title: Re: Valve Games
Post by: Alistair on January 06, 2014, 05:01:27 AM
It wasn't very appealing, but was okay for game-play.

HL2's story is stale, and the types of weapons it has, though a nice little update, still makes the gameplay, even online, just old and boring crap.

Well, this is the most negative set of opinions I've seen about Half-Life in, well, my whole life! :o

Personally, I find it to be a unique and (despite awful ai) interesting experience, even if it wasn't exactly the best FPS.

sorry, but the setup for HL2 is just HL1 with a higher graphics engine. pretty much beating a dead horse.

Yep. And a little bit more of story depth

How about some opinions on Portal 2 in this thread?

I'd love to hear them  :)

Great Humor and Puzzles, nice enjoyable story, too.

Valve created a unique community.

Portal 2 is the best example of taking something great, expanding on it, and making something even greater. A lot of series' could really benefit from learning from that.

I want to say, iv'e ducked into some of the files and found alot of acrapped projects.

It would be nice if they had another Portal game in the making.

New puzzles, new story-line, but somehow keep Cave Johnson in there.

Ecept they cannot progress a story without a space core.

Pfft, space core.

Its a shame it got sucked out into space with Wheatly.

This is the part WHERE I KILL YOU....

I loved GladOS' snarky and sarcastic attitude.

Especially the part where she calls your parents and the line doesn't pick up.

Then she makes a snarky comment about how your parents never loved you.

Have to admit, she was kind of mean at some points. But she was still laughable as PotatOS.

Yes.
You could not be more condescending, GLadOS
Title: Re: Valve Games
Post by: Alistair on January 06, 2014, 06:05:26 AM
I wonder who voiced GLadOS.

And do you remember the end of Portal 2 where the turrets sing?
Title: Re: Valve Games
Post by: HyenaKing on January 06, 2014, 06:21:58 AM
That song made me cry a little bit because that was the end of the series, i think...
and there was no cake...
Title: Re: Valve Games
Post by: Alistair on January 06, 2014, 08:49:08 AM
I know where to find that ending song on youtube.

But isn't it a bit sweet that GLadOS put all those singing turrets together for your send-off into the world?

Yes...

Your opinion of the TF2 Community?
Title: Re: Valve Games
Post by: Alistair on January 06, 2014, 09:57:13 AM
That is a game I have yet to play.

I cannot judge the community because I have no knowledge on what the community as a whole is like.

It's a commuity with alot of nerds, bronies, and furries and the comminity is self-degrading because it makes a joke out of both bronies and furries, and nerds...

I'm edging my way in about Portal 2 again  <.<

When I first played it I freaked out a little when I got tossed through the air from those compression plates, or whatever they're called.

Then GLadOS makes one of them not work in a test chamber and makes jokes at you about how you're fat.
