Title: Retro Game Topic
Post by: William Dynwood on December 19, 2013, 03:11:03 AM
I'm pretty sure there are some of you who play the old classics on PC and consoles like the Super Nintendo.

Personally I'm a Collector of Retro Games and consoles, and I wonder if there are any other collectors or Retro game players around here too?

Please Respond! I'm curious!  :P

I tried while I could to collect a good number of SNES titles.
Ended up with the good ones like Mario, Metroid, Street Fighter, Megaman X, etc :P

As far as PC classic PC titles go, I've got the Ultimate Doom CD somewhere among other period titles...

I have a fir share of Retro Consoles and games, and they're not that hard to find too. The only problem I have is that The real good ones are a bit expansive... or, for me that is I geuss.

Hotline Miami

Its retro looking, and does that count?

And it has a great plot, big challenge, and great soundtrack.

Hotline Miami isn't a Retro game, but you are right about the Challenge and the soundtrack! I still have to check that one out though.

Its pixelated, so my brain thinks retro.

I'm not personally a collector myself, but my grandmother is!  :)

She has the original Nintendo console with the cartridge games. I love going over to her house to play the originals such as Donkey Kong, Mario, etc.

Geez, Doom... that was good stuff.  I used to like the one with the Simpsons patch when I wasn't playing multiplayer.

I still freak out when I catch a Simpsons ep which features one of the sounds.  XD

I once played through most of Prince of Persia 2 then got stuck on one stupid jump.  Two months later I beat it, but lost my interest in the game by then so never finished.

But one day, maybe I will!

Still have to get Yoshi's story...

BUT, I played Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time! and that one was awesome! (Except the water Temple).

Duke Nukem didn't have a Multiplayer option right? Andhow about Command And Conquer?

I used to play GTA vice city on PS2 and now have it on original Xbox.  Is THAT considered retro?  Because if it is get me my old person blanket to store by the rear window of my Volvo so I can drive wearing a hat to bingo!

Yup, thats Retro! I have my PS2 here too, with GTA SAN Andreas and GTA III... Both from 2004 and before. Lets say everything from before 2006 is Retro, Might be easier to understand :P

Technically,  it just has to be 4 generations behind the current ones.  (PS4 and Xbox One)

when TV's range from 13-27 inches, sit as far away as possible. when they're 32-112 inches, sit as close as possible.
