Title: Friends: A game of gambling
Post by: HyenaKing on December 09, 2013, 01:18:55 AM
Its a always a big gamble when you tell new friends secrets, relationships, etc. But when you have been a bud with a person with a person, you think your okay right? Well,  I Announced I was a furry, and i babysat them on explaining to them what is was, and they decided to go into I-Don't-Know-You Mode, and, not be friends anymore, and it is sad, because i knew these people, and we were friends for years-- I Don't get it. Its like a piece of you is taken, the nice part, and you always have to plow though more rubble before being positive. Thank you, for reading.

If they're that immature, be glad you're not dealing with them.
I recently went through a similar thing, and I'm much happier with my new group. The best thing to do is not keep anything significant secret, then only those who accept you will associate with you. There's more than you'd think, especially considering I don't live in the nicest of areas...

Awww man!  That sucks.

It's not like you're a serial killer with a well in your cellar (I assume), I mean OMG you think upright animals are cool WHAT A MONSTER!

*hugs*

Well. maybe they'll come around.  Othewise BBJGeorge has the truth of it.

If people don't like you for yourself, then they were just liking their own reflection.

Everyone you meet will be a gamble in some sense. You can't depend on anyone to keep things a secret and they can't promise to react a certain way that you want or don't. Trust no one, not even your family (but you can trust them with some things using your best judgement). You'll learn the hard way, but it definitely reflects in the people you associate with and sometimes you're better off knowing they don't belong around you.

This goes for anything in life, not just with sharing ideas and hobbies. When you start trusting people with things like money and your girlfriend, it'll get even worse. So don't do it.

When I'm actually gambling, I expect to lose everything I put down on the table. So goes life.

Likes animals, likes cartoons, likes RP, likes dress-up, values creativity, is thoughtful

This pretty much seems to me to be the heart of furriness.  How can you hate on that?

Peeplez are big dumbheads!!

It's surprisingly easy for people to hate something, not just out of mere ignorance, but because it's easy to single out the social implications of the fandom that seem outlandish to a mainstream cultured society. It's all a matter of perspective and past experiences that determines how people will portray something, even if it's not true.

All you need is someone to suggest that what you like, say, or do is weird and suddenly everyone from the same mainstream culture will agree. Tell that to someone who's a part of a fandom (like bronies, trekkies, or star wars kids) and they'll probably have a different opinion.

I Honestly tried to Almost "Friend-zone" her today, but on all days, she broke something, gone all day. Its like they both flirt with others behind back, then i got involved

Hey is there a ringleader?  Tell me about him.  >:3

If she's injured you should send flowers, it covers all possible desired future options.

And it's nice.  ^_^

You are in command now ADMIRAL Vulpes!

The ringleader got in trouble, he started a fight with me, and lost, so i think he is sending his minions. I plan on just continue what i do, friend-zone everyone and work hard.

Why are you sad about those people ... They were clearly not your friends ... Time to find someone new and who understands you ... My friends know I'm Furry and they are supper ok with that ... But the sometimes joke around like I'm a doggy or something ... It is fun even for me :D

I guess I'm lucky never really lost any friends I considered true friends upon coming out that I am furry.

Course most of the friends I have had since elementary all turned out to be different or tolerant so yeah...

Lost many friend in middle though. Mostly because they became douchebags I was a douche myself just not as big a douche.

Us, the wonderful people of this overpopulating Earth, seem to have an innate ability to misinterpret. Everything.

If they are being ignorant and don't want to associate with you, let them be. Just remember the moments of friendship that you shared - memories can't be taken away. They most probably feel guilty with themselves at a lower subconscious level for withdrawing from you due to something so seemingly minor :)

LOL

I know right!  That Google your name thing just doesn't go well for me :(

FOr the most part I think my friends will not care.  But they will ask me questions and I want to feel natural in my response.  I don't want to read a pamphlet sort of thing, ya know?
