Been hearing about this series for a while been kinda confused by the big fanbase.
I recently looked the series up on Wikipedia and i thought "ah its a webcomic parody on games.. that blew...up ..the... world..?" and thought it would be worth a watch. This is what confuses me at first i thought it was an animated series but then Wikipedia said it was a mix of both.
Kinda need help getting my head around this strange series.. T_T

Once upon a time, there was a little dork named John Egbert.
When the story begins, the date is April thirteenth, a couple years ago or some sh$& like that.
Oh, by the way, this story is incredibly funny, if not a little crude sometimes, so if you have little siblings or your mom walking around, best if you just show this to friends or whatever.
Anyways, John's one, TRUE gift he wants for his birthday that he's been dying to get is the beta for the ULTIMATE game called, Sburb.
As it's been described, it's like a combination between the games Spore, Sims, Minecraft, and some other weird simulation games.
Anyways, he DOES get the game beta, and wants to play it with his three other friends, Rose Lalonde, Dave Strider, and Jade Harley.
The four friends met over the internet, and live in different parts of the U.S., but are still INCREDIBLY close. They all have such varying personalities, but get along incredibly well. They will, however, never say no to performing some acts of nonsense.
Once Sburb is begun, however, John and his Friends learn a terrible truth; by playing the game, they've doomed the world!
Now, with the clock slowly counting down, John, Rose, Dave, and Jade, along with 12 other friends that are anything BUT of this world, and must solve the mysteries and shenanigans wrought by Sburb, all the while embarking on a journey of which involves personal growth, and discovery of powers once unknown to them.
Overall, the plot is AMAZINGLY detailed, the artwork at first questionable, the jokes quite funny, but most of the characters amazingly dynamic.
I love Homestuck with a BURNING passion, and I highly suggest reading this excellent web comic.
First Act may seem slow, but seriously, read it; it'll help you not get too lost along the way with some of the crazy lingo.
