Title: Your Phobias!

Everybody post what they're irrationally afraid of. Maybe we can all be irrationally afraid together!
Maybe...

For me, I have Parasitophobia, the fear of parasites. I developed this quite recently, actually. I got roundworms a few months ago and it just threw me into a nervous wreck. Just the feeling of little things inside me and the helplessness I had. It was dreadful. Now, anything majorly parasitic (I.E. Lice, worms, fungi) just sends a shiver up my spine and gets me very nervous.

I have acrophobia, well reasonably I have to think. I don't fancy rock climbing or roller coasters because of the height.

I also have arachnophobia, but I only fear the black widow spider. So many deadly close encounters that I have to say I've had my fill of it. There's probably other ones out there I don't want to touch either, but it's the closest one I've had to be around.

I think what scares me is how fragile they are, how you can just accidentally lay your hand on them and they'll be horrifically mutilated. Also, I'm quite afraid of disease of any sort, but I don't think that's "irrational".

0h, and I think I might have mild to severe trypophobia. Look it up...

...or don't.

1. The cardiovascular system. The thought makes me want to faint. Although, I can stand the sight of blood. I don't understand it, but I know affects me. XD

2. Impossibly large objects. Another strange one, but try and comprehend just how big the sun is for a second; try and squeeze the image into your brain. Makes me sick. >w<

This works for me too, for some reason. Mainly nautical things like ships, though. No idea why. @.@

Large needles also get me really nervous, due to the fact that I had to have an injection in my eyelid after an accident as a kid.

Giant fursuits were slowly surrounding me and I tried to climb a tree and when I did I slipped, then when I looked up they were surrounding me. I screamed and woke up almost crying....(man I got a tear on my homework.) it was just.....I don't want to continue. (But I'm not afraid any more..(much)

Yeah, any spider bigger than a dime or nickel can scare me. If it's bigger than a half dollar I might freeze in fear
I used to say or think ''please don't jump out and bite me, stay off of me, get away!''

Ticks scare the cocaine (Metaphorically) out of me, It's not even a loud scream, it's a big, paranoid panic.

There must be something wrong with me, I pick up spiders out of my bathtub and let wasps land on my hand, while people around me act as if an insect looks at them they'll explode.

Indeed, yes!

The fall starts to make my intestines feel like goop.
even they are kinda goop, so goopier.
I'm very scared of sudden unexpected death.

People getting mad at me or getting accusatory or rude - for any reason, but especially over me being in love with more than one person.

Crowds.

Clusters of holes.

Accidentally hurting someone/something fragile. THIS IS THE WORST because I breed snakes and handling baby snakes always feels like I might accidentally hurt them. ;-;

And, speaking of, i though i once had sugery, and once it was finished i thought it was not started yet becase i dont remember being sedated. I felf half-knumb, so i lifted up the covers and found out for myself. this surgery--was-- about a month ago.

It's not all bad though, I'm faster and better balanced on my toes (that and I feel a little taller! X3 )

Also, another thing that's not really a phobia, but just a thing that always bothers me: I don't like turning my back to a mirror, because when you look at a mirror from different directions you see different things being reflected... So what's in the mirror when you're not looking at it?

Seagulls also scare me, they can get quite nasty when you have food and often gang up on you too. Well the ones in Plymouth do. :/

In France, whoever is different gets treated like muck or teesed. I'm different from the way I speak sometimes. French teenagers think it's fun when someone struggles speaks with a funny canadian french accent like I do sometimes when I speak french. I'm not scared about how I look like, the clothes I wear.
Small anecdote: I'm the only person in the school that wears blue clothes, everyone is dressed in black or grey in my school 'cause they say it's "cool". I hate to be like everybody else, I prefer to be original, my own self.
What scares me (from bad experiences) is my way I express myself, how people are gonna see me if I talk about this or that.
I stress when I speak to strangers or menacing people, I hate it.

Nice to hear that :) . But no i do not really need help; I'm more like the guy who always wants to help people, even if they don't appreciate it. I'm always there for my friends, and I will always be there for them, it doesn't matter if they're offline friends or online friends.
But still, knowing that there's almost nobody who really cares about me, i could be sad about it, or i could just accept it. I've been trough a lot in the past, and I'm still alive, and every thing is fine.. altough sometimes there are just some minor downsides. :s but yeah... I just deal with them. By the way, PM me if you want, I will always respond, wether its directly after receiving a message, or 2 days later.

Thats just how I do stuff.

Considering they are classified as a subset of panic disorder, yet are defined as an "irrational fear," it doesn't really make sense to me. I love bats, but they make me extremely anxious in anything but a controlled environment. There are dozens of things that cause me an irrational amount of anxiety, but not many I will call a phobia, because I don't actually fear them. However...

Acute Claustrophobia- Small spaces I can't get out of(i.e. locked in a small closet, but fine being in an unlocked one) and crowds. The worst part of this is that I often can't judge the space-crowd ratio well enough to dodge it. Being in either situation over the acceptable level makes me hyperventilate and have a panic attack of the cry-in-a-corner level.

Agoraphopia- Crowds again, but also wide-open spaces. I think it might be a genetic throwback to warrior ancestors, because the form of situation makes sense: Nowhere to hide, nothing to hide behind, nothing to obscure an enemy's vision of me. Even a large empty room, like a big school gym, I cling to the walls. I can't make myself walk through the middle.

Spectrophobia- Awesomely enough, there are two phobias for "fear of mirrors." This one is specifically related to the paranormal side of them. Someone else mentioned this; I once saw a Shade in a mirror. On top of that, I've long been afraid of seeing something appear behind me while looking in a mirror. I also refuse to turn my back on a mirror, as someone mentioned previously. What's there when you aren't looking? Though weirdly enough, I want to try going into a mirror box.

Thalassophobia- Fear of the ocean; more often so fear of what lies beneath it. This one's a new one for me. Recently, I've read a lot of stuff about weird fish and other such things, and I've gotten to the point that I don't ever want to go in the ocean in any spot more than a few miles from shore, or more than a thousand or so feet deep. The thought of the creatures directly below me unnerves me to no end. And while I love scuba diving, I'll stick to lakes; way too many fish and bigger things that I can't keep track of moving closer than I'm comfortable with. Plus, a panic attack while swimming is just NO.

Bees and wasps. Oh lord, I can't stand being near those things. People keep scolding me for disliking bees, but I'm sorry, but they look similar to wasps and they sting, so they still freak me out. And just... the way they fly looks so abnormal to me. It's like they're hanging on strings, like a puppet or something. Just thinking about it makes me shiver. I admit that they look cool, though. In photos...

I also have claustrophobia (fear of small spaces). Even putting on tight clothing that's hard to take off makes me panic. Like, if I try on a pair of old pants and can't pull them up past my thighs, I have a quick second of panic and quickly take them off. I will actually start crying if I can't get the tight clothing off soon enough. :I

I refuse to look into my own bathroom mirror as, when I do, I tend to disassociate and not move for like five minutes as the reflection kinda enraptures me. @.@ And when I'm done staring off into space, I tend to be get into the "I have to leave the house or my reflection will kill me" mode.

I have NIGHTMARES about these things. Ever since I was little. If one touched me I would scream and kill it by any means necessary. I remember when I was younger I had a dream that THESE F***ING THINGS GREW ALL OVER MY HOUSE AND MY BODY AND WHEN I WOKE UP I SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER AND IT WAS AT THREE IN THE MORNING. I don't know how my dad can touch these a**holes without feeling uneasy, since he does a lot of yardwork, including pulling up weeds.

I used to have this fear of popping balloons until one day, I was inflating a balloon with my breath and it popped in my face harmlessly. I just laughed it off, and I've been fine about balloons since. :)

And this one may seem weird to you guys. My other phobia is Coccinellidaephobia.. which is the fear of ladybugs 0.o
They freak me out so much like I can't even oh my god. It started when I got bit on the neck by what I thought was a harmless little ladybug. I was playing with it, then BOOM. It's little ladybug teeth sunk into my flesh. I must admit it really stung though.

Acarophobia- Fear of itching or of the insects that cause itching.
Apiphobia- Fear of bees.
