Title: What is a furry ?

Hai, so im here, being a person who is not a furry  but who's trying to understand ,  in fact, my boyfriend is a furry and, fom times to times, im just asking myself what is a furry really.  all i know is that he have furry porn
so yeah i used to think that furry was all about sex but, really, is it?

i just need someone to explain to me what is a furry.  is it really all about sex? is it something with a way of living by folowing a certain speicie instinct?  im just pitching all of this there trying to understand
i do not mean to offend you in any way, i just want to understand.

Hi! The R&A board is seeking advice for personal matters, not just seeking advice on any issue. Also, there's a thread by WingedZephyr that is made for this very subject found here (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=16042.0) that covers what in reality "being a furry" means.

  To me, being a furry is liking anthropomorphic art, so if you like anthro art, then you're a furry. A fursona is not required, a sexual interest in the fandom is not required and on the general boards of this forum (so everything excluding the adult board) sexual things are not tolerated. In general there are no "rules" you need to follow, there is no social dogma that you need to be apart of. By saying you are a furry, you have become a furry, the furry fandom is not a society with laws that are specific for it, but it is just a group. Furries are the same as trekkies or bronies in terms of how it is all structured, in which simply, it isn't.
