Title: Any Film makers out there?
Post by: Takamei Edevane on March 05, 2013, 01:41:08 PM
A thought came to my mind and I wonder if there are any film makers around the forum? You don't have to be a professional, even if you just make some short videos. It would be great to talk to some other furs who like film making :D

I don't have an extensive amount of experience, but I am a filmmaker. I've made an animated short film before.

I've done quite a few film projects, back in the days when I had a camera. Mostly short films/comedies/spoofs/etc.

I'd be pretty interested to watch it if it is on youtube or something  :) You guys should post a link or something if its on the internet. I'm glad I'm not the only film maker here  ^_^

Really, the only things on my Youtube are silly and not really my best of works ><
I think the only one on there is Hit the Deck! Goes Camping. You can search it and it'll pop up, I don't use my old Youtube anymore~

3D animation. It was the short film I worked on with a team of other students while earning my college degree. :P

You can watch it here if you like:
http://vimeo.com/40240966 (http://vimeo.com/40240966)

It played at a few film festivals and won a couple awards.

Kind of almost I guess. I would say it's an interest of mine, but laziness tends to be more powerful for me.

Might be working on something soon though just because some friends in the part of the world i can physically access have shown interested in a small side project.

Yup, very devout filmmaker here. I love everything about cinema; it's an expansive and intuitive form of art. Entertainment was always my passion!

Sorry it took me 23 days to finally watch them.  Been a little bit busy. But wow that 3d animation is amazing, I really like it :D no wonder it got into the film festival. What role did you have in the production?

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun making that video Nic, you were the DJ then? :P

Hey Rocoro got a link to any videos you have made?  ^_^

Amazing short WingedZepher! I can tell you and your animation team have spent hours on this animation in yours. The textures, objects, and models are very, VERY well done. The animation on the dog was very detailed too, like when it was tired, stretching - it showed emotion. The poses that it made were very good for the animation software you were using. Also, as a native New Yorker, 10 points to having it take place in Manhattan! It's not bad at all; good job!

And for Laurence... behold (http://www.youtube.com/nelandquinten). Don't get too excited; most of my work is stupid humor, but two of them, "Speechless" and "Untitled Socapa Project" are actually serious. I think the humorous ones are TERRIBLE, but "Late for School" and "The Master Gamer" went to film festivals and "The Master Gamer" actually won an award!
Also, Laurence and Nic, you two have got to share your stuff! Me and Zepher did... it's only fair.  ;)

What role did you have in the production?

I rigged both characters myself, animated some of the scenes, modeled a few of the props, and worked on the team that developed the story.

Kind of, I would be if I had a camera and a car. But I don't, but I do have a script for a couple of things. Not gonna mention most of them, but I'll probably make something around death scorpion next year when I have a license.

Im planning on doing some animation later...
I guess its kind of a final goal/area that i want to reach.

First, im gonna learn to draw better, and become a true artist.
Secondly, i want to be able to do commissions, being able to draw more than just my own ideas.
Then i wanna move on to small animations.
And finally, i wanna do a short film or maybe even a longer film, i dont know...

So one day, hopefully i will  :3

Not bad at all Lawrence! I love the dolly shots in your commercial, and the close-ups on the food being prepared. But you gotta watch the focus on your lens! Some shots were blurry. I really liked it! "Almost still life" and "Candles" were very cool experimental films too!
And that skiing footage is badass! Subbed to both channels :)

I know! I have so much trouble skiing! They stretch out and make me do a split! Couldn't do any trick on them either, especially while holding a camera!!

I be teaching myself 2D animation :D
I've made a few youtube videos but I'm working on a more serious video now...
By serious I mean not very serious at all but a real test of my skill as a nooby animator.

I just want to say though that if you want any little animation in your videos, feel free to ask!

Yay a furry film makers thread!  XP

Yeah I film stuff, edit stuff and upload them onto YouTube.

Here's my most recent video, it's a furry con video from Furnal Equiniox 2013 (in Toronto, Canada) and I've heard a lot of positive remarks about it.
