Hello all guys. you all can call me Jokor. I'm completely new not only to this site but also to the whole Furry phenomina, don't know why I fell into it, but I just love anthero art. (I point towards star fox and a lot of old disney moves as a possible cause. Great things that.) So I don't have my fursona worked out at all yet. Though I do want him to be a spotted hyena. Just love those animals :)
I'm from belgium (a small country sandwiched in between france and germany together with the netherlands and luxemburg.)
My intrests are history (WWI and II especially, the dark pages of history fascinate me) computers, german (love the language), writing and drawing. I'm not good at either of those but I'm learing bit by bit about contour right now with my drawing. And roleplaying, I play nWoD on a semi-regular basis and also have played d&d, though hack and slash doesn't suit me. I want to roleplay, not rollplay if you get my drift. I'm also regulary watch anime/western cartoons. I find them pretty funny.
As for favorite music I love rock and heavy metal. My favorite movies are how to train a dragon from dreamworks and wreck it ralph from disney and my favorite games are star fox/mario/Luigi's mansion/ X-Com (original and new)/ Bloodbowl and of course the super smash brothers series.

Yes I do have a question, (with more to come later probably ) does anybody know where to find drawing tutorials that learn you how to draw from the ground up? I have a vague idea on a burdgoning fursona. But since I'm broke (bane of all students around the globe) I can't pay anybody to draw it for me. So i thought, why not learn it myself, in a year or 5 I ight be halfway decent and be able to draw him :) the only tutorials I found in the artist section where on hwo to draw furries and such, handy for me, but not very usefull if I don't know the basics yet.

On deviantart I have found a lot of helpful tutorials :)
You can just type in the searchbar what you're looking for, and add tutorial,
it should show a couple.
Or FurAffinity.
What exactly are you looking for? Poses or something else?

What I'm looking for in drawing tutorials is a from the grounds up training course (vid series) of drawing techniques and such, while I have drawn before its more like scribbeling, and it honestly looks terrible :/ thought relearing everything was a good first step on this subject. :) solid base makes a solid house as we say in belgium :) No sense in building on a shaking foundation.
And hello NovAurora, nice meeting you too. and yes, it seems as if I'm going to fit right at home here. thanks for the welcome.
Also, if any of you guys still have any questions about me after my introduction, feel free to ask. I love talking. (bit to much according to my parents and friends, but hey, everybody got bad parts)

Well, if you'd like, I can try and find some videos for you? :)
Drawing wolf and fox heads I've learned thanks to a video tutorial ^^
I mostly just set myself a goal, like drawing a wolf's head,
and start finding specific videos and tutorials about that.
I also look at real wolf heads and study them.
This is how I learn(ed) to draw human anatomy, for example:
-find a pose you like, preferably a photograph of a real person.
-draw a couple of times over.
-Once your hands/brains are used to the approx. lenght and such of the build, you can start sketching the same pose. If this does not work out, go back to drawing over the picture/photograph. Do this as many times needed untill you can sketch freely the same pose without too much trouble.
-Eventually draw a self-thought picture of a different pose. If this doesn't work, go back to the previous step.
That's how I practiced, so it's only a tip :)

I mostly watch either comedy (non-ecchi) animes/manga or the more serious ones. Full metal alchemist is a great example for both. Kokoro connect is a great funny manga with some deeper exploration of some issues behind it. Seeing as the group of protagonists are being used by some being as personal amusement and get thrown in disturbing and funny situations. (switching bodies, being unable to control their emotions. Projecting their inner thoughts to other group members.) I'm also reading assasination classroom, pumpkin scissors (a great military styled manga. Though it focuses more on war relief after a war and the horrors that war left behind then actuall fighting. With some disturbing amount of overarching plot slowly emerging.) and silver spoon at the moment.

Ooh, nice. I started watching FMA pretty recently. I haven't heard of the other ones you mention before, though. :0 They sound reall interesting. I might check them out.

you should check them out. Though kokoro connect has the last 4 episodes only on DVD so you have to download those. Pumkin scicors only has the first season in anime though, the rest iss still just a manga. A good one, but I doubt they will ever make that one into an anime, not popular enough yet.
A manga worth checking out is silver spoon same writer and artist as FMA, its a bit more mundane (its about modern life in a farming school) but its funny and the main character is very intresting :)

Guten Abend, Jokor! I'm also quite new here... I noticed that you love German! ^_^ I'm trying to learn it myself. Maybe we can chat in German sometime? I'm not that great, but I'm sure speaking it a little more will help.

oh, you should check out doulingo.com then, its a good suplimentary site with lots of practice exercises and such to keep you going :). (everything from translating sentences from articles to writing down what somebody is saying.) As for chat in german can't say much yet, I know how to spell and use regular verbs and a handfull of vocab. So I don't think I would have much to say yet in german ^^;. I don't even know if speaking in another language then english in chat is allowed.
