If I said that this wasn’t at least partially Home’s (http://ferrant.tumblr.com/) fault, I’d be lying. Their characters have been making me want to create a bird character for a while…
Then another friend (http://youregoingtorattlethestarsyouare.tumblr.com/) and I were talking about old characters and he seemed surprised that one of my oldest representational characters was a penguin back in like 8th and 9th grade before I discovered the internet.
Out of nostalgia and peer pressure I doodled up a BORD CHARACTER, decidedly an emperor penguin like my old character back in the day.
I’m not sure on a name yet, but he likes swing/electroswing music and the 1930’s-40’s, and also has little paint art deco inspired ‘tattoos’. He’ll likely wear a mix of suits/casual wear (aka dress shirt and jeans, blazer and t-shirt, ect) with oddly colored or tacky socks. Anyway, maybe we shall see more of him later down the line when I don’t have commissions to work on.

Nice design.
As for Rigor, I always like the sketchy feel a drawing can have, like you have drawn here with Rigor. The grey tones and the single colouration (yellow eyes) really give it a nice, but dangerous feel to it :)

-Saliva is thick (due to all the candy he eats), sickeningly sweet, and candy corn flavored.
-Based off the Halloween Candy Corn edition of Jones soda.

So for those that don’t know, this is my character Noir. I guess you can call him my persona when I’m not using my dumb dog. Noir is axanthic ball python and a bit of a dweeb. Since he’s a python, he doesn’t have the “killer fangs” that most people associate with snakes, so he wears the candy corn “fangs” to make himself feel better about that. But yeah oh god I attempted a background what. Also included the stand alones in the full post because I liked them.

Sometimes I try to draw Mort when he was younger. He was one of those little shits that would start fights on the playground. Also I feel like he’d chew his paws (something most bullies do when they are upset or anxious) a lot more when he was younger vs. when he gets older.

It’s a little late, but better late than never. This one was actually really hard for me, but in the end I went with scolipede. I almost chose Scyther, and I also thought about Heracross, but in the end my satantic centipede stallion won out!

In truth, this is all Skink’s (http://aspidelaps.tumblr.com/) fault. Fun fact, Noir was supposed to do what Mort does for me now for my MortisReptus account. They still do, but I could never get over the not having legs hurdle (hah) that having a snake sona provided. Anytime I tried making legs it looked pretty awful, but Skink made legs look nice so I attempted to make Noir a snake monster. I guess I’ll use the two interchangeably, who knows.
Also I’m mad because SAI freaked out. I wanted to do more but I didn’t get a chance to save and so it’s stuck at this size, not the full size. Anyway, just derping around. I kind of like this.
(as a side note, wow I have been on a roll lately.)

Pokedexy Day 3 - Favorite Dragon Type Surprisingly I don’t use very many dragon types on my team, but if I did, I would likely use this guy. I mean come on, Nintendo was able to combine a shark, a torpedo, and a dragon, and make it really badass.

I just tailored him to my tastes, named him, and gave him context. I'm rather fond of him. I wish the RP area was more active because I'd like to use him a little more. And yes! The human is Sander Cohen from Bioshock because I'm pretty terrible and it would seem the only humans I draw are Bioshock related if they aren't just Sander Cohen. Haha.

So, I’ve posted art for this before, but uh… Every year my dad and volunteers (including myself) run a haunted hayride/trail thing to raise money for a program that he runs called “Gifted Warriors,” which is essentially a program for teaching special needs children and adults self defense. 100% of the proceeds from this goes to our students.
Dad kinda bothered me into doing another flyer (more or less as a ‘commission’ for fixing my car), and this was the result. I’m generally the mascot every year (the dude in the picture).

I dunno… Just a sketchy thing of Kurt. I’ve always heavily identified with him. I love the fact that even though he has his issues surrounding his identity and the society he exists in, he’s never let it make him bitter. He’s always there when he’s needed, and unlike most tragic heroes, he’s well rounded and doesn’t let his past dictate him. Not only that, but he’s a good metaphor for my experiences. I probably shouldn’t have drawn him so mopey, but there are times where even Nightcrawler gets down on himself.

It may be that way because I am not super vocal about it... But asking for something like this requires me to be, unfortunately. And sure, I definitely will, if I manage to somehow get the fundage to do so. I never assume people are since I'm rarely around here aside from the art section.

I now consider myself mostly... well, I don't know if this is at all a correct term for it, but genderfluid, or... non-gender. I can sometimes be either a male, female, no gender, or everythihg in between. So the good news is I settled on my gemsona. Bad news is that they aren’t rainbow obsidian anymore, but banded onyx instead. I originally wanted to go with onyx + brass knuckles for my gemsona, but I got really nervous and decided to try and change it up because I’ve always been silly about ~multiples~ thanks to really possessive people on tumblr that like to harass other people over shit like that. Ahaha. SO YEAH.
Here’s Onyx, my gemsona. I feel like they go by Nyx sometimes. They like striped turtle necks and as stated above, they have brass knuckles for weapons. They summon their weapon via drawing on inner strength and balance. Usually they are pretty grounded, though when they do grow upset, their shifting may take control and make them appear more monstrous, sporting multiple mouths and eyes (http://mortimus-maximus.tumblr.com/post/113760450211/more-doodles-without-color-tho-because-im-lazy). (More than their usual four eyes, anyway. The top set of eyes often reads as ‘brow marks.’)
I haven’t quite settled on gem placement just yet, but I’ll likely go with something on the hands. Bluh bluh.

He has two gems, one on the middle knuckle on each hand. Bottom left is something we’ve seen before. It was supposed to be example of him without his hat, but the multiple eyes/mouths show up when they are stressed or angry.

Cassiterite is more manic and emotion driven, especially sensitive to rejection. Howlite is more grounded, prefers to take things head on. Has the ability to connect to and release old emotional pain and tends to negate Cass’s hyper energy. Cass has claws for a weapon, Howl has a bat or club.

I actually use a mixture of Paint Tool SAI and photoshop. Most of my drawing is done in SAI while color tweaking and other graphic needs are done in Photoshop. And thanks guys... I don't think I've had this much traffic on this thread in a while, you're gonna make me blush.

As far as things I like to draw, I like to draw figure drawing-esque things... So lots of nudity. And gore. Though I don't draw gore nearly as much as I used to. :c
