penwandered auround the los angeles airport showing off for the gathered humans and television crews as she waited for her bags she leaned over to the fur next to her "excitable aren't they?"

Snow shrugged nervously; he knew this would be a bad idea since the borders re-opened, but he never imagined being one of the first anthros in a human city. "I guess we'll have to wait for the novelty to wear off...however long that will be." Snow eyed the bright red and white maple leaf before noticing the dirty olive drab bag it was attached to, and reached out to grab it. Hoisting it over his shoulder he waved to the arctic wolf. "Good luck in this strange city friend, try not to go feral." As he turned away he was assaulted by photgraphers and reporters, he pushed through, brushing them aside and repeating "no comment" like a broken record.

Sitting in the back of a cab, Vithal gave in to a long stifled yawn and silently prayed that the driver would not choose that moment to glance at the mirror. He needed the ride to be without event after an unexpectedly long transit through the camera gauntlet. Though the plane had landed before dawn, the sun was already well off of the horizon by the time that the car was clear of the crowds. His carefully planned schedule was as good as blown. It seemed appropriate to feel a little defeated, but he had long fallen prey to an almost giddy amusement, and just as well. His image had been recorded from every available angle since arrival. It wouldn't have done to appear unhappy in that mess.

Aspen trailed her train of luggage bags through the crowd, Good naturedly answering a few questions and not commenting on some "um I think this program is going to be fun, yes we use the same kinds of conditioners, but I generaly use a lot more, no I don't eat raw meat, um...I use a toilet like everyone..." she yelped as she felt a strong pull on her tail and turned around to see a scared little boy she bent down and he started to run she felt his ffear and took it giving him a little of her courage "I won't bite" he slowly walked over and scritched her ears she murred loudly trying not to drool, this is positive press and she would not ruin it by drooling five minutes later she was kin a cab on her way to the university.

Desaki just flew over the reporters avioiding there gaze and shouted a hello to the other furs landing next to one "Hello there"]he said smiling

The walk to the terminal exit was a mosh pit of camera flashes and reporters screaming questions. They were intent on getting at least some information from Snow, though repeating the same questions like broken records wasn't helping their cause. Snow laughed to himself, they were at least persistent, even though they weren't very bright. The doors were approaching when he got an idea.
He turned and let a look of astonishment sweep over his face. "What's going on over there?" he exclaimed, hoping his expression would be convincing, and to his fortune it was. The reporters fell for the ruse and started looking around the terminal for...they didn't even know what. Snow kept from breaking into hysterical laughter as he slipped out the door and into a waiting cab.
"To the University please, my go-." His words were cut off as something hit the cab window, and turning he saw a mob of angry looking people holding signs. They were waving them in the air furiously, but Snow caught the phrase "Go home mutt!!"
"Are you going to just sit here and let them vandalise your cab?" he asked the driver. He noticed him eye Snow in his mirror before pulling away, and it made him very uncomfortable. He got a few looks like that in the airport, but now that he saw how strong their hate was...it just unsettled him even more, and he kept an eye on the cabbie through the whole ride.
About a half hour later, he arrived at his home for the next 8 months. He paid the cabbie and thanked him, mostly for not dropping him in an alley somewhere. Pulling his bag from the trunk he turned around and looked at the hustle and bustle of move-in day. There were a lot of humans there, parents taking far too long bidding their children goodbye, young adults wishing their parents would stop being so dramatic...even a couple small children, probably seeing off an older sibling. Snow noticed one young lad staring at him, before tugging on his daddy's sleeve. The father bent to listen to his son whisper something to him, before taking the boys hand and walking towards Snow.
"Excuse me, my son...well, I'm sure you understand that he'd be a little curious, hell, even I have only seen pictures of your kind." The man smiled, it was warm and kind, "anyways, I didn't mean to offend, but my son...well, he wanted to scratch your ears."
Snow was a little taken aback. As much as he loved having his ears scratched, he had some pride, enough to distinguish himself from a common house pet. He couldn't let strangers just come up and pet him for their amusement. So much was riding on how he presented himself, and what impression he left on the humans. "Look, I know this situation is sort of foreign ground to everyone, but, I'm not a dog."
Now the man seemed taken aback. "Well sorry, I just...sorry." The man left lookind disappointed, and Snow started to regret his decision. 'Would it really have killed me to just let him scratch? It's not like he was a grown person asking to do it, that'd just be weird. No, it was just a kid, why'd you have to be so cold to him? They were so nice, too.' He berated himself as he hauled his luggage into the dorms.

Aspen hopped out of her cab and pulled out her train of luggage bags and meandered through the crowd, she was used to odd stares, she wore a red miniskirt and a black sleeveless belly shirt she had gotten online and it fit nicely snug, she knew ACDC was a human band but she loved both the band and the shirt, not to mention theshirt was tight in all the right places, distracting somewhar from the fact she had a tail and fur "I guess breasts are universal" she mumbled

"Now i must go!" Desaki said in a spanish accent flying away towards the school spotting a fur in an acdc shirt and shouting a hello

Vithal arrived in reasonably high spirits. He’d prodded the driver for words on the way over and was rewarded with stories of lucrative “night fares”. It seemed that having a toothy suit in the back wasn't anything new for the man, and he went to no small length to suggest that his handful of regular fur passengers were the most generous to be found. He was a shrewd fellow.
“It’s been good,” Vithal said, handing over what little extra he could afford and accepting a small, yellow card in return.
“Don’t lose that. You need a ride, you call me. Okay?”
“Alright man. I’ll see you.”
Vithal made a little show of smiling as he slid the card into his wallet and waved the driver off. With luggage firmly in grasp, He made an effort to maintain some dignity as he walked, instead of charging, through the thick crowd. His intent was to make a beeline for the dorm, and set himself to salvaging as much of the remaining morning as possible.
Looking around, he didn't have to guess as to which of the students were going to be on his floor. Unlike the classes to follow, the dormitory accommodations were under a rule of nearly complete segregation, creating a half empty floor of furs only. The disparity in policies wasn't something that Vithal could begin to understand, but at the very least he wouldn't have to deal with a lengthy commute as had happened during the trial period in New York.
He shuddered as a bad memory surfaced. Using public transportation on a daily basis had been less than comfortable. Living on campus would definitely be better.

Aspen headed over to a fur she had just seen speaking to a father and his son, both human,,she could feel his despair and lightened it just a little "hi I'm Aspen,whats your name? You seem familiar with the humans"

Desaki flew over to the campes and settled in yawning not caring really about the humans glances and murmered comments then one shouted freak "Y'Know to me YOU look like the freak but do i comment or care,No i dont so leave me alone or ill bite you." then he went into his dorm and flopped on his bed

"Oh good grief," Vithal murmured after hearing exactly the sort of exchange that he'd been hired to iron out. Discretely, he allowed himself a smirk. It’d been enough just teaching as an extremely foreign element before, but now the classes, as well as the campus as a whole, would be peppered with several other furs of various temperaments; volatility at its best.

Mitchel dashed off of his plane excitedly. "Wow! This place is huge!" He sprinted to his bags and broke through the doors of the airport. Before he could breathe in the new air, he was mobbed by a group of angry citizens. They called him cruel names and demanded that he leave. All of the commotion caused his to erupt into laughter.
"What's so funny?" One of the protesters yelled.
"It's how stupid you look! You're a small group of like seven or eight people, charging up to an innocent kid, demanding that he leaves. And cause of what? You envy of my fur, mate?." One of the the protesters growled., his frustration growing. "Oh! Do you think you scare me? Ha! I've meet whales scarier than you!" A cab conviently shows up infront of Mitchel. "Sorry that this party has to be cut short, but I've got school to attend. You play nice!" And with that, he left the unruly citizens to wallow in their own defeat.

Snow looked to see who was speaking to him, recoginizing the wolf he met at the terminal. "No, not particularily.." he trailed off watching the father and son duo drive off. Gone forever...Snow snapped into reality, drawing his focus to the figure before him. He was surprised he hadn't noticed earlier, but she was stunning, bright white fur with a radiant smile. Snow found himself staring and was glad he had a layer of fur hiding the fact he was blushing as he coughed for words. "I'm Snow, by the way," he finally spat out. "I'm from the Canadian exchange program, how about yourself?"

aspen let herself slip back into her somewhat thick russian accent, she had had to train her voice for weeks to be able to hide it "me? i am from mother russia" she giggled feeling around at his emotions and then frowned suddenly as she came to the self-berating "whats wrong? you seem a bit.....dissapointed in yourself"

Finally, the cab stopped at a small house that was hidden an old oak tree. "Thanks!" Mitchel paid the cab driver and began to walk to the house. He knocked on the door and waited until a woman had answered the door. She seemed to be in her late 30s or so and she wore simple street clothes. "Hello ma'am." He tried his best to speak properly. "My name is Mitchel. I came from tha Australian exchange program."
"Glad you could make it." She opens the door wider and lets him in. "My husbands not home right now, he gets off later tonight. There's a room upstairs to your right, and the bathroom's acroos the hall. By the way, you don't shed, do you?" Mitchel shakes his head slowly. "Good. Now run along and put your stuff up. I'll tell you about the house rules when you're settled."
"Thank you."
"Please don't talk to me like that. This is your new home. You should learn to relax." She smiles warmly and pats him on his back. Mitchel grins widely and quickly makes his way to his room.
"This isn't as scary as I thought it would be!"

"Of course I am," Snow replied. "That's the only way I learn things." Next time a kid wanted to pet him, he'd let them. "See you around, eh?" Snow left the Russian wolf alone as he trudged into the dormitory looking for his room. A pair of boys sat behind a desk with a long list. He walked up and after a few minutes standing in line he was before them.
As the one on the right looked up, his jaw dropped. Snow wasn't sure how to react; this was a far different look than he'd gotten from the protestors. This was a look of...absolute hysteria. The young man before him looked like he was going to jump out of his skin he was so excited. His partner looked up, and huffed as he saw his comrade sitting their mouth agape. "Name please," he said nochalantl.
"Uh...Snow Reilly."
"4th floor, room 407, you already have a roommate assigned. NEXT PLEASE!"
Snow looked over to the elevator and saw a line, and decided to take the stairs. He hauled his luggage up a step at a time, soon regretting the strain it put on his body. He'd neglected to keep active since high school phys ed., and it was starting to show. Five years ago he would have ran up two steps at a time without stopping for a breath, but now his heart pounded and his lungs heaved. And it was only to the fourth floor.
Snow found his room just near the stair-case. The door was open and he heard strange music from inside. He knocked, "Hello?" Gently pushing the door open he saw a young human male, he had short dark hair and his eyebrow was pierced, as he turned to look at Snow it caught the light, glinting.
"Well, can't say I was expecting this," he said to him. "You must be my roommate. Name's Darryl. Grew up here in Cali. You're from the exchange right? What nation do you represent."
"The great white north, my friend."
"Aha, excelent. You my friend are m authourity on good beer." He laughed heartily, clapping Snow on the back. It was the star of what appeared to be a long friendhsip. "Hey what's your name man?" Darryl asked him.
"I'm Snow."
"Ok now I've heard everything. A Canadian named after Canada. Ha!"
Snow joined him in a round of awkward laughter, before staring to unpack.

*Caleb watched nervously from afar and pulled up his hood. The heat was sweltering here, compared to that of back home. All of the flashing of cameras, and the harsh glow of the lights. He isn't used to this, it frankly overwhelmed his senses. He kept his tail close trying to hide the fact he was a fur. He walked over to the baggage carousel and grabbed the two small rolling suitcases silently praying to anything not to let the reporters look over. A curious little girl spots his tail twitching, and pulls on it. Caleb winces and turns around slowly.*
"Momma, its a big kitty! Lookie momma, big kitty!" The child's mother quickly scoops her up and glares at Caleb. "Don't touch it sweetie, it could have flees! What have I told you about touching stray animals?" *Caleb's fur bristles and he lets out a deep growl, making the child fuss and hide her head into her mothers shoulder.* "Don't you DARE scare my child you big brute!" *she screams.*
*a few of the reporters hear the commotion and come bustling over, but by the time the woman turns back around Caleb is gone.*
*Caleb lets out a huge sigh of relief after slipping out the airport then immediately finds himself face to face with the small mob of protesters.* /Oh my god, I cant catch a goshdarned break can I?/ "P-please, I don't want any trouble... I-I just want to get to my dorm that's all." *he sputters out clutching his bags tightly hoping a cab would pull up soon.*
"GO HOME FLEA BAG," *one of the protesters shouted, the others joined in and he shrank back and made a bealine for the road, and the cab that had just pulled up.. The cab ride to the university was long and involved quite a few dark glances from the driver. As soon as they got to campus, Caleb left more than enough money to cover the cab fair and left as quickly as he could with his bags.*
"oh please.. please no more excitement today..." He mumbles to himself.

"Room 403...405...407...oh yay 409! Aspen rushed into the room dissapointed to find a distinct lack of her room mate...she disliked the word, just because you share a room does not make you mates...after all her and her three sisters shared a room back home...except kiva...she was older and had a mate "ok boys set it down here!" She called to the three guys pulling her luggage she had met them in the entrance, obviosly gay, so safe...although one of. Them had asked about some odd word yipp? Yiff? Yerf? Somthing like that... sheheeard laughter next door and poked her head in the doorway

Desaki glomped his bed and fell asleep then woke up and went to look for other furs

Snow was nervously setting up his action figures, he loved the movie Star Wars even though it was made by humans and had a 12 inch Han Solo that he never went more than a week without. He was pondering what his roommate might think when he saw the wolf girl from earlier poke her head in the door. Snow blushed and stepped in front of the statue, blocking it from view and blushing a little under his fur. "Are you stalking me?" he asked jokingly, smirking. "I don't believe I caught your name either. I am Snow." He offered his paw to the wolf.

Aspen grabbed his paw pulled him closer, and kissed him quickly nce on each cheek "no not stalking, my room is 409, I'm Aspen, oh my god! Starwars!!! I-i uh mean...um...are those action figures? Are they from uh...a superhero comic or somthing? She blushes, obviously trying to play stupid.

Snow's fur failed to hide his blush this time as his cheeks went pink. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aspen, and yes, Star Wars." He grinned at the wolves attempt to hide her knowledge of the film. Women could nerd out to their hearts content. and as far as his gender was concerned. they were only made more attractive for doing so, but a lot of ladies seemed absolutely obvlivious to this fact. The thought of a good looking Russian wolf maiden who wanted to see his action figures had Snow giddy with excitement.
He stepped aside, showing off the display, and tried his best not to squeak as he spoke. "I've been collecting them since I was seven. They're all in good condition except Luke only has half a lightsabre, and Greedo's arm kinda got chewed off, don't even ask how..." he blushed a bit as he realised he was rambling.
Darryl cut in, "what'd you do, use it as a chew toy?" He laughed, it was joyous and lively, and you could tell the joke had no malicious edge. His long hair and slim frame shook as his laugh faded, Darryl seemed the typical careless Cali surfer dude, here to laugh, love, and have fun.
"No, as a matter of fact, it was my little sister." The two laughed hard, it seemed they'd be thick as thieves, the fox and the hippy, what a pair.
Snow continued to Aspen, "anyways, I have both trilogies on my laptop, if you ever feel like watching them, you know, with me." He stumbled over his words as his confidence ran thin, it had been a long time since he'd asked a girl out.

"I um uh..." Aspen turned red "are you asking me out? You got a lot of nerve, first day and all"

Snow winced, he'd never felt like such an ass. "I uh...forget it, sorry," he muttered. "Perhaps it would be best if you left."

aurora grinned playfully and leaned in towards him "i said you had nerve, what i didn't say was no"
she giggled and swished her tail "the question is, when?"

Snow sighed with relief, it seemed he hadn't botched the moment after all. He smiled, "well, today's Thursday...how about Saturday night? Perhaps we could get something to eat first?"

"hmmm saturday yeah, it's a date" she giggled and wondered breifly where the wildest party would be tonight
"hey um, i don't suppose any of you have heard if there is any good parties around tonight? i have some men to put to shame in their own game, *edited*" she grinned "*edited*"

Snow laughed, "these yankees won't know what him 'em." He pulled out a bottle of Irish Whiskey from his bag with a bow on it. "Going away gift from my folks," he said, admiring the 40 of golden liquid, before removing the cap and taking in a big whiff. "Awww yeah that's the stuff," he said in a state of perpetual ecstasy.
Darryl chimed in, "a couple of my buds are having a party one floor down, room 305 but they're tring to get the whole floor going by the end of the night. *edited*."
"*edited*" He looked back to Aurora. "I hope you have a good throwing arm, I have a feeling I'll need a good partner to take this guy out at *edited*," he smiled as he punched Darryl in the shoulder playfully.

"oh really? that sounds like a lot of fun...are you sure they will welcome furries at the party? *edited*?" she sniffed the air "that stuff smells pretty good, if we ever get enough potatoes and the right ingredients, *edited*, as for going away gifts well....the romanov fortune got a nice chunk removed"

Please do not make alcohol abuse references in the general RP boards. Looking over the characters and seeing that many are over 21 is fine, however it is against forum rules to abuse the substance.

After being given the ground rules, Mitchel decided it would be a good time to go to the college and see if he could find and others from the exchange program. When he had reached the school grounds he decided to explore the school dorms. "It's more than likely everyone's still unpacking." he thought aloud.
(Sorry for being gone so long. Y'know how it is with school and all.)

"HEY GET BACK HERE YOU PERV!!!" aspen ran down the hall chasing a human student with a camera in his hand, when she ran into a mink and fell down "oof! dangit!!" the kid was already disappearing into a crowd

Mitchel quickly gets up and dusts himself off. Whoever this person was chasing must be very important. He looks at the who had knocked him down and quickly begins to panic. "A-are you okay? Is she still alive? Of course she is, that's ridiculous! What if she sprained something?" He begins to speak slowly and very loud. "Hey! Are. You. Okay?"

"i'm fine....stupid human hiding in my closet, trying to get a picture while i was undressing...oh hey another fur, my names aspen, what's yours?"

After a short car ride from the airport to the college, Leon steps out of the taxi and looks at his new school. He takes in a deep breath and says to himself, "Today is the first day of the rest of my life." He grabs his the few bags he brought with him and makes his way to the dorms.
He gets into the halls of the dormitories, he looks over and a couple furries talking to each other. Being the nervous guy he is, he tries getting into his room without getting noticed, but then drops his keys, along with all of his bags.

"The name's Mitchel! Nice ta meet-. Hold on..." Mitchel glances at the lion who's fumbling with his keys. "Hiya! You need any help?" He says.

Looks over at. "...yes...yes please." He blushes.
