I'm Necra. I'm really new to this whole furry thing. I kind of stumbled upon it a while back and was drawn to the beautiful art. Not really sure about this fursona business, though. Do i need one? Do they come to you in a dream, or are they the embodiment of your alter ego? Am I being really rude right now?
Anyway, about me. I like anime of the gory kind, and books of the sappy chicklitt kind. Slightly weird combination now that I see it in writing, but on the other hand I have been accused of being just that. I, myself, like to consider me as limited edition. It sounds more fun that way. Gloomy weather makes me happy, and no matter how many cups of coffee I have, I will never be a morning person.
I'm hoping to get a better grasp on the furry-thingies, and maybe accomplish some personal evolvement at the same time. I hear that's supposed to be good.
I hope I didn't offend anyone, and if i did... well tough tomatoes.

Welcome to the forums Necra! Sytex pretty much summed up all there is to say, don't be afraid to ask questions around here, we're all friends. With regards to your fursona, for me I just sort of... knew, I guess, there wasn't a magic moment. Everyone comes across theirs differently, and some people don't even have one. I read the post you suggested, Sytex, and I feel a bit less lost, so thank you for that.
Looking around a bit I think I want a fursona just because they look and sound amazing. Maybe my Evil Overlord alter ego can grow fur and a tail :P He's the one plotting deaths when someone cuts me off in traffic, leaving me road rage-less.
