This is my past story thing. Both my parents have always worked and I was left home with a babysitter and my dog. I actually discovered the fandom on accident. I was writing a book about a human animal that tries to fit in with humans. I wrote that when I was 11. I read it to my class and one of the kids said he is a f*cking furry. I was laughed at for the rest of the year. They told me every day yiff in hell fur f*g. I googled that phrase and found the word furry then I googled furry and found the fandom. I feel in love. I moved to a different school and different state when my parents divorced.
I was put in a hospital for attempted suicide. I was there for days but one day they brought a dog in. I didn't talk much in the hospital. When I saw the dog no one else cared but I ran over and hugged it. I got discharged and got a service dog about 3 months later.
When I moved again they said I couldn't keep it. So we are still in the process of getting another service dog for me.
My fursona is a wolf since wolves can't be tied down. They are strong tough and not scared of anything. They also use team work which is something I wish I had. I made a FA account but in 2010 I found the... Yiff side. I think it is an abomination but think of rule 24. So I just ignore it and block mature and adult content. My mom and brother have no idea about me. My brother thinks the fandom is basically another word for beastialty. My mom doesn't even know about it and if my dad EVER found out I would be beaten.
I want to make a fursuit but I have no idea how to approach it. I have to tell my mom about the fandom sometime and I think the best way to do it is to say I want to be a wolf for Halloween and leave it at that. She knows I like wolves. But you know, just wolf wolves.
One day I will go to anthrocon and if not while in my moms house I know I will soon. I have a YouTube account deticated to furries. Like conventions how to make fursuits stuff like that.
How can I talk to my mom about furries. How can I bring it up. My mom is against anything that could make me find out about sex. Also I am not allowed to watch anything with bad words in it that she knows of. Like let's just say angry video game nerd. Watch that behind her back. American horror story. Things she wouldn't like. Demonic, sexual content, language, drugs, and the is what I can think of now. I also watched the season behind her back.
I was diagnosed with high functioning autisim at the age of 8. I am now 15 and feel like the world is out to get me being a overprotected child, furry, "retard" (as my dad calls it).
So I hope you enjoyed my story/past thing abou me. If you have any questions please ask. I want to make friends here. I don't know how or understand friendships. If you want to be my friend the say so or I won't understand. Also since I really haven't been with or talked to other furries so I don't know why people say some stuff. That's pretty rough man. I never got the mick taken out of me for this because I don't know why but anything I am different to my friends in be it opinions or hobbies then I feel to ashamed to have told them. Obviously I am a lot more mature now. Suicide is not the way to go mate. I did that once I just made bad mistake after another until it started getting so big I wanted out. I wanted to go into the light and run away from here. But I have slowly began to let the real me out and I dont care what people say I am a strong lad :-) PM me if you want a chat or anything man. Wow thanks guys ^_^ I love this fandom and really like the people here. There are so many jerks at school or even my on family but it seems that most every furry is kind. ^_^ .I have only met one furry in real life before and they were in a fursuit and I thought that I know I will do that someday :)

You say you have autism, well I say the people thinking themselves as 'normal' and calling other people who are diagnosed with autism ''retards'' are the autistic people.
(Not meaning to be offending here)
But one of 'points' are that autistic people cannot understand emotions or such. Then why would 'normal' people hurt you and try to 'downgrade' you?
...Exactly...
And what I think most autistic people are: Just normal (if there ever is such a thing as normal) people with a diffrent way of thinking and approaching things.
Anyways, let's just leave that behind.
As for teling your mum, well... If you want to, you can talk about it with her, one step at a time. For example: Showing anthro art (not yiff of course...) at first. And build it up from there.
I don't know your mother, and I am not telling you what to do, but I'm just giving advice and hope it will help :)
I've told people in my environment one person at a time (not all, lol)
I was a bit scared of their reactions at first, but I ignored that feeling.
'So what if they think I'm weird? Everyone is diffrent. If they're not willing to except, then that's fine by me.'
Also, the reaction was way less 'explosive' as I always would think it would be. They usually didn't mind if I was a furry.

My brother is autistic and he is on this forum (Cephalotes) He has aspergers syndrome. He doesnt like being touched he will go beserk if he cant complete his schedule and he is very socially awkward and likes to be alone a lot. Plus he has got the head of a rhino :L I chucked him into the wall as hard as I could when I was in a mood and my other brother (Maleficent) and he just got up and went nuts haha.

@ Puncia: I was only pointing out that my brother and now someone else have aspergers syndrome, because my brother has I know how hard it can be to make friends and feel accepted. So I was basically saying he is not alone in an attempt to make him feel welcomed I shall start a new thread but I do not see anything wrong with it.
