The calm of the night as some would say, darkness fell upon Sandtrap city in the blink of an eye. The once great city reduced simply to a den for the homeless and drifters crowding it's dusty streets and ruined building, a place that would have been the crown jewel in the PDR's eyes as their new shining beacon for the public now simply a scrap pile. The place wasn't one for the weak as it's population was practically guilty of almost any crime you could think of only fleeing to this DMZ as it was the only place where neither the PDR or Rekzor could touch them filling it to the brim with corrupt individuals only looking to better themselves through the suffering of others. Not exactly the ideal place one would flee to when they want to be saved.
Deeper in the bowls of the city's slums there was a group of individuals moving down the middle of a street, their advance slow and cautious showing their affiliation with eachother as a group. One near the lead spoke up first, "Jeez when it gets dark in this city then it gets dark...." the voice admitting from the male carnosaur named Kane Mitchel, "Why do we have to head so far to the rendezvous point? Can't our contact just broadcast his location on a private network?" he lowered his RA-34 assault rifle (his version cut-down without a stock and a scope mounted on it's top rails) seeing that there obviously weren't hostiles in the area.
The lead of the pack, a female T-rex named Linda Sharptooth looked over her shoulder at Kane, "If he broadcasts his location then Rekzor's forces would home in on it in 5 seconds. He's probably got a group trying to pinpoint his location since he shut off his IPC (Implanted Positioning Chip) so chances are they'd find their way into a private network. The meeting point isn't too far from here so we should be there in the next 5 minutes" she returned her gaze to the sights of her RA-34 rifle. Her and Kane were from the same mercenary group called RagTag hired by the PDR to extract a defector from Rekzor's empire to their borders and the money offered for mission completion was just what the group needed to get some new gadgets. Though the duo weren't too thrilled to learn they could be sharing the profits with separate mercenaries as well.
"Think Rekzor probably sent some of his goons into the city to find him?" Kane asked while gazing up at a nearby apartment building where he caught sight of someone pulling the blinds down.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Guy would violate the DMZ to get his precious scientist back"
"Aren't we technically violating the DMZ by being here too?"
"We're not officially associated with the PDR so I doubt we are"
"But we're taking a job from there so doesn't that mean we're associated?"
"Kane, just shut up and keep your eyes open...."

The slums allways where quite at this time as the hot sun set behind the twisted metal of old skyscrapers. She set a foot in the allyway looking left and right keeping her hood down keeping her face a shadow from any unwanted eyes. Seeing the empty ally she proceeds to step into the open taking a hard left and walking at a brisk pace heading for the Goldenduck Tavern. As she walks she keeps the back of her foot up steeping lightly making no sound. As the wind starts to pick up her cloak snaps behind her forcing her to reveal her left arm holding the flaps to her chest keeping it at bay ad causing unnecessary noise.
Rounding a corner to the right she continues on her way seeing a group of heavily armed men and women down the ally. Instinctively she slows her pace to that of a normal person lowering her head to keep her eyes out of view. She starts walking on the right side of the allready small ally hoping that the strangers pass by. As the distance closes she places her right hand(Still consealed) on the handle of her dagger ready for any trouble.

(Don't forget the OOC)
-
The group came to a halt in front of a 4 floor apartment building, every window was pitch black except for one on the fourth floor giving off a glow of light, "Okay there's our contact, Kane you're with me into the building while the rest of you keep watch outside. We'll be down in 5 minutes but any longer then I want you to come in, that understood?" the other mercenaries nodded in agreement to Linda's orders. The t-rex approached the door with Kane behind her she tried the knob but the door appeared to be stuck, "You've gotta be kidding me...." she groaned then stepped back and raised her foot kicking open the door, "The place looks like it's falling apart yet the door was stuck....ugh....I wish these VIPs would choose better locations for a rescue"
Kane followed after her into the apartment, "Speak for yourself, Linda, I can't believe this mission is going to be over so soon. I was expecting a little more action when we took a job from the government" he told her as they moved towards the stairwell
-
As the distance between her and the group of strangers closed the group in front of her unexpectedly stopped outside of a rundown building. After a few words between the group two of them proceeded to move into the building with force.
"What on earth are they doing?" she thought as two of them went into the building.
She readjusted her hood getting a better view in the dwindling light as her eyes automatically adjusted. As the distance between herself and the group shortened to the point where they could easily see her she kept her cool and stuck to the right of the alleyway hoping the solders would part way for her all the while keeping her consealed hand on the hilt of her dagger.

"Overwatch, I am at location Alpha. No sign of target. PDR moving close. Order to attack?"
"Negative Fury. Orders are to shoot on sight. Leave the PDR for the time being. Search for Golden Target and eliminate."
"Roger."
Devan shut the link with a blink of his left eye and continued to watch the group on the other side of the street. Invisible in the shadows on the low roof of the building opposite of them, he had a clear view over the situation. His AT-WAR Rifle lay next to him, ready to be fired in another blink. He was in this forbidden city, all alone for as far as he knew. And... he loved it.
He grinned. Alone. Alone was good. And placing strategic C4's in the fundation of the building hadn't been a bad idea either. One hint of a problem, a blink of his eye and... bang... Problem solved. Now just to make sure the Target is IN the building...
-
The duo moved onto the fourth floor proceeding towards the closed door at the farthest end of the hall, the only door with light spilling out the bottom of it. Linda approached first then knocked on it, "I really hope this guy isn't dead..." she muttered before hearing footsteps approaching the door followed by a voice asking, "Who is the star competitor at Triassic City's Arena?"
Linda froze up, "Oh frak...I forgot the damn password...." she started tracing back through her memories trying to find what piece of intel was the answer to this. She was never much of a fan for the Arena fights televised weekly through the PDR, she always figured it was just a low-brow form of entertainment where competitors are tossed into a set area then face down waves of enemies. Ironic she didn't like it considering her line of work.
"It's Snub Daxton" answered Kane seeing that his partner must not have read the dossier fully, "Really, Linda? That question was so simple it wasn't even funny" he told her as the individual inside began to unlock the door.
"Oh bite me...."
"Don't tempt me"
The door opened slowly revealing the form of a dark green male dilophosaurus wearing a blue dirty hoodie with it's sleeves ripped off, a pair of jeans just as worn as his sweat shirt along with a brown shemagh around his neck. His eyes darted between the two individuals, "PDR Special forces?" he asked nervously hoping that he opened the door to the right strangers.
"Not exactly but we are the guys hired to get you out of here. Doctor Dell Hutch, I presume?" asked Linda stepped forward only for the doctor to look down in sheer disappointment as he moved away from the door, "Mercenaries? Are you kidding me? I'm carrying very valuable information and the PDR sends mercenaries to get me?" he placed his hand on his head-fin mumbling something to himself as the duo let themselves in, "I've been holed up in this city for three days.....I'm sure Rekzor has soldiers deployed to get me.....I've been seeing alot of shady characters out there before I decided to settle in here. They're probably disguised or maybe using cloaking tech, they could be watching right now!" he pressed his back against the wall staring up at the ceiling trying to take in the situation presented to him.
"This guy is kinda a whiny one...." Kane muttered as Linda placed her hand on his shoulder pulling him off the wall, "Hey, Dr. Hutch you need to get a hold of yourself. Listen, we're here to get you to an extraction point then you'll be flown to the PDR border and you can tell the suits all about your precious intel. I'm sorry that we're not some hard special forces team but we're as good as you're going to get so you might as well take it or we can just leave you here" she was greeted by a stare from the doctor for a few minutes during that time she could make out the silver lining around the pupils in his eyes showing his augmentations were cerebral indeed. Hutch sighed then moved her hand off his shoulder, "Fine...but first let me gather my things"
Kane groaned, "You serious, Doctor? Did you set up an entire freakin' house in this small apartment?"
"I just mean my laptop, it contains some of the information" he told the carnosaur as he entered a nearby room.
Linda moved into the doorway to watch the doctor retrieve his laptop from the single mattress setup in the corner far away from the window, "What do you mean 'some' of the information? Where's the rest?"
He placed his laptop under his armpit then tapped the side of his head, "Internal storage unit located in my brain, all of Rekzor's scientists are given this augmentation in order to increase work efficiency"

Once past the group she continues down the ally making a right out of sight from the group.
"They are up to something..." She says to herself letting her curiosity get the better of her.
Scanning the buildings around her she maps a way up to the roof tops, once found she quickly scales the walls using old pipping work, a section of half collapsed scaffolding, and a fire escape ladder. Once on top of the roof she looks over the surrounding buildings.
seeing nothing she backtracks along the rooftops keeping low to the roof walking on the souls of her feet to remain perfectly silent. Pulling off her hood she stood for a second enjoying the midnight air blowing through her fur. After the second of harmony she goes back to her task of finding out who thees new strangers are in her city. Squatting she unclasp her cloak placing it on the short railing. Reaching the strap holding her rifle to her back she unclasps it and pulls her rifle resting it over the edge. Looking through the scope she begins to scope out the area when a glint catches the corner of her eye. Looking that way she notices another person looking over the ally she just walked down. "Hello!" she says to herself quietly placing her pointer finger over the trigger.
-
There you are, you son of a... For one millisecond, the head of the Target had moved in front of a window on the fourth floor. Not enough for Devan to shoot, but, he still had plan B. He pulls the trigger of the four strategically planted bombs out of his pocket. Slowly, very slowly, the building would collapse, possibly also taking its neighbours with it. With a deliberate movement, Devan raises his hand and pushes the button. Surprise...
-
As she lined up the crosshairs over his head she took a deep breath and released squeezing the trigger as an explosion goes off from the building across the ally from her making the shot miss his head hitting behind him. Pulling herself from the scope she looks to her right seeing the base of the building engulfed in flames as the structure slowly falls in on itself.
"This got way out of hand" she said to herself as she shielded her eyes from the bright flames.
Looking down she say the group waiting outside disarray as they haled wounded out from the fires and yelling at eachother. When she looked back at the other stranger on the roof through her scope she couldn't find it anywhere.
"This cant be good" She though to herself looking frantically as a chill crept up her spine making her fur stand on end...
"Not good at all..."
-
A bullet flies past Devan's head, hitting the stone wall behind him. Training takes over as he drops himself to the ground and grabs his AT-WAR and his other belongings. He runs to the other side of the roof and jumps, landing on the other rooftop. Out of the corner of his eye he can make out the shooter against the red halo of the fire. Gotcha... He jumps to another rooftop and sprints towards the place the enemy is.
-
After two minutes of fruitless searching her intuition would not relent telling her the danger was getting closer.
"I need to move" she said to herself picking up her rifle and the cloak she used to hold her rifle in place. She began to backtrack as another crumble shook the building causing her to stumble.
Looking over the edge again she saw that part of the building gave way and crashed into the building she way on across the ally causing where she was just perched to crash to the ground. Shielding her eyes from the smoke she picked herself up and continued to slowly retreat as to not cause herself any harm.
-
Amongst the rubble of the building the mercenaries were still searching for their fallen comrades. A heap of rubble started to shudder before being pushed off by Linda emerging from the heap coughing, "Oh god.....Doctor, Kane....you guys still okay?" she looked down to see the Doctor rubbing his head as he sat up along with Kane, "You weren't lying Doctor....I guess they were watching you...."
Suddenly a voice sounded off in Devan's earpiece, "Devan, this is Hunters, what the hell did you do?! We heard that explosion from a mile away! Why didn't you just send the coordinates for us to intercept?! That explosion will get the attention of the PDR drones overhead!" the shouts were coming from the leader of four-man Rekzor special forces team nicknamed Nightmare. Their leader being a gray male raptor named Scott Hunters, he was actually re-assigned to team leader once serving as a stealth spy for Rekzor personally. His augmentations were that of having his muscles and skin wired to increase speed and strength also that he can generate a cloaking field around himself at will. Nightmare squad was currently moving through the street dressed in rags (to blend in with the locals) and heaving their RPL-submachine guns, "Out of all the people to get put with us on this assignment, I'll be sure to inform command about Devan's stupid decision" Hunters informed his team.
-
Of all the people... "I had no knowledge of you and your team being here. I acted on my own acount. The Target is MIA, highly possible KIA. A shot has been fired on me, but not by the PDR special forces. They are still oblivious on me. I am now following the shooter. If you need me, call me on a SECURE line please. Devan out."
-
Moving through the roof tops she jumps over low railing and around old rusted machinery occasionally looking back into the blackness.
"D*** It" She cursed to herself noticing that the fire has made her night blind as she trips over an old piece of wire shrouded in the darkness. Getting up she looks behind her again thinking she heard someting with makes her ears perk up.
Straining her eyes she focuses into the darkness seeing a shadow move behind an old fashion industrial heater.
"Oh no" She though to herself as she continues to run through the roof tops eventually coming to an end as she stood looking down at a street too far to jump. Her heart begins to hammer in her chest as she turns around looking for cover but finding none.
-
D***, she saw me!!! Devan had walked just a bit to far into the light, and the... girl, wasn't it? The girl had seen him. But then he relaxed a bit. There was no easy way off this roof. She couldn't go anywhere. Silently, Devan stepped out of the shadows, rifle pointed at the girls chest. She looked quite scared. And she was still clutching a gun... "Drop it..." was the only thing he said as he approached her.
-
As he steeped out in the open aiming right at her, her heart skipped a beat. Right when she was sure she was about to die he said two simple words.
"Drop it..." The shadow in the darkness said.
Instinctively she clenched her hand even harder around her rifle but after a debate of life and death, she dropped her rifle to the ground holding both her hands up, all the while looking at this assassin in the eyes.
-
"Good... now, walk forward SLOWLY..." His robotic eye scanned her body, searching for any hidden weapons. She didn't seem like a great threat... yet. "I am not going to hurt you... if there is no reason to. Now, why did you shoot at me?"
-
Stepping forward she keeps her hands raised not making a move for her other holstered weapons. (Sword, Dagger, And magnum)
"Your not from here..." She says now that she sees him up close.
"Your just one of those... Robots..." She says with digest.
"This city has been my home for years now, More people with guns only makes it worse... Especially your kind."
As she stands there with her hands up she flairs her nostrils, obviously angry.
-
"Cyborg, if I may. Only partly robotic. And more weaponed people in this cr*phole you call home won't make any difference. So, the only reason you shot at me was because I am a stranger, and a cyborg... And then they say I am a rascist..." He kept his aim steady at her chest. "Now, move forward SLOWLY."
-
Stepping forward she takes stock of the situation soon coming to realization that she could not reach her weapons in time before he can squeeze his finger, leaving her only option to comply
Sighing she takes a few more steps towards the cyborg.
"What happines, happines I guess" She thinks to herself.
-
Hunters and his squad were cutting through an alleyway heading towards the smoke column rising in the sky, there was a group of curious citizens starting to enter the streets due to the explosion meaning an eventual crowd would make their job somewhat harder. "Planters, give me a number crunch real quick. How long do we have to search the ruins before a crowd forms?" Hunters asked the brown male sphinosaurus running alongside him. Alec Planters to be exact serving as the team's recon and data specialist fitted with a cerebral enhancement along with an optical augmentation that allowed him to basically have his vision serve as a screen for hacking operations while the keyboard was literally built into his hands so to speak, "We'd have around 20 minutes in full time depending if the target survived the explosion or not"
The raptor sighed once more figuring he'd have to contact Devan again, "Devan, do you have a visual on the ruins? Can you confirm the kill?"
-
Sigh... "No sign of the building or the Target. All clouded by smoke and ash. I did capture the shooter. Seems like a lonely patriot to me. Taking her in."
-
the saint traveled forwards as silent as the wind and almost less visible, she had heard the explosions and smelled the smoke, she traveled over the rooftops, in the light of the inferno she saw someone holding a girl at gunpoint, she frowned as she sprinted in that direction, she landed behind the man, he was still unaware so she decided to make him aware, she disabled all of his guns ending with the rifle pointed at the girl, she then swung her left foot around, shattering his com device "nice toys, but i think they are broken" she tossed the firing mechanisms off the side of the building
-
Devan turns around slowly to look at his assailant. "Luckily, I don't need guns." With a single thought, the blades inbeded in his arms spring foward. "Now, please leave. I have business to attend too, and it is NOT with you... yet..."
-
Seeing an opportunity just unfold right in front of her she draws her side arm 9 mm and points it at her assailant slowly backing up to her rifle.
"How the tables have turned" She says mockingly.
-
Devan now turns halfway towards his former captive. "You think that you can shoot faster..." He takes a small handgrenade, meant for suicide at compromisation, out of one of the hidden pockets in his exoskeleton. "... than I can blow you all up?" He takes the pin out of the grenade, waits three seconds, and then pushes a small lid on top of the explosive device, stopping the countdown. "Two seconds. Choose wisely."
-
Backing up she kicking her rifle ever so slightly with the back of her foot telling her she was near the edge again.
Still pointing her handgun she makes no sudden movements looking back and forth at her assailant and this new girl that came out of knowhere.
-
the saint spoke in a cold unforgiving voice "i don't believe she can, but i also don't believe you will do it" her voice changes to a lighter tone that is somehow more intimidating "but I willl" in a flash she is holding the pin, standing just outside of the blast radius "she turns to the girl "i estimate you have just over three seconds to get out of range, hell if you are far enough and he is dumb enough, you can shoot the grenade and make it blow now" with this the black suited saint leaps over the side of the building to scour the rubble for survivors
-
With the saint gone she quickly holster her magnum simultaneously sliding her foot under her rifle, kicking it up into the air for her to grab.
"Till next time" She says with an edge of intimidation.
Once held she quickly looks back and jumps off the edge of the building running for her hideout deep in the slums.
-
the saint searched through the rubble for survivors following the sound of heartbeats she found seven bodies, among them were two dead, whom she closed their dead staring eyes and placed a coin over each eye, two living whom were unconsious, these she drug to the side, one lightly wounded child whom she bandaged and returned to the doorstop of his home, and two who were very badly wounded, she drug the first to the nearest ICU, as she was lifting the second, a male dilophosaurus who wore what looked like it had been a blue hoodie in better times a group of dinosaurs emerge from under the rubble and head in her direction.
(aka found your "target")
-
"Grenade: Callsign Shadow, number 2837362. Deactivate." With a small ping, the grenade turned off. Quickly, Devan repaired his weapons with spare parts. Good... now, let's check out the site.
-
Linda, Kane and Hutch were already moving out of the wreckage while the other mercenaries were waving them over, "Come on, lets go!" shouted one as Linda rubbed the side of her head pulling it back surprised to see no presence of blood, "If I ever find who blew up that building....I swear-"
"Swear on crap later, we've gotta get moving before another surprise shows up" Kane interrupted while Dr. Hutch began to cough and dropped to his knees briefly, "Doc, you okay?"
The doctor took a few minutes to catch his breath before nodding, "Yes....I'll be fine....not everyday I get caught up in a building explosion. It's quite the surprise we're still alive....the charges must have been set in the basement but didn't have enough kick to demolish the building to a huge degree" he offered his insight at the worst time only to have Linda shove him forward, "Yeah we can listen to your analysis later. Just get moving"
"A shooter? Your priority isn't-" Hunters only growled in annoyance as the squad left the alleyway winding up right in front of the ruins still sending it's smoke cloud into the air, "Squad, scan the area and see if you can find a trace of the target" he ordered while tapping the side of his head switching his optics into 'Detect mode' giving his vision a blue highlight of the surroundings. Alec was looking back at the group of civilians starting to come in from another street, "Hunters, we've got civilians entering the area. Should we shoot to disperse them?"
"Only if they start getting in the way, I'm not detecting anything...." he turned to a dark green female raptor with cybernetic legs converted so her feet resembled claws known as the marksman of their team named Ava Maine, "Ava, scale to the roofs and see if you can get a better view"
She nodded in acknowledgement then ran off towards the nearest building jumping forward so her 'feet' dug into the concrete allowing her to scale up to the roof with ease. She reached the top then quickly brandished her ST-43 rifle (scope removed as her optics allowed all the vision power she needed) then started lining up the iron sights catching sight of several red highlights through the smoke, "Got 'em, they're around the wreckage and moving away"
Hunters nodded as he ordered the squad to move, "Rog', you stick to the roof while me and the squad follow from the ground. Open fire as soon as you get the chance"
-
Once a few blocks away she finely bends over panting setting her rifle on the wall she collapses next too. Then it hit her, A sharp pain going through her right leg, then a deep throbbing as her adrenalin whore off. Looking at the cause she notices her leg is bleeding from shrapmetal from the earlyer explosion. "Oh no" she said to herself looking the way she came seeing the trail of blood drops. Grabbing her rifle she uses it to prop herself up now feeling the pain of putting pressure on her leg. Continuing to move she sees her hideout just a few feet in front of her. "Allmost there" She said to herself.
