school is starting so I'm going to start with a new game.
this time I want to create a furry game. just for the fun. I make this game for furry's, to do this I need to know what furry's want and what they like.
I want to ask you all what you like? not what games you like but I mean do you like puzzel or fps or exploring?
also do you want to see fluffy things in games? and do you want to play online? what is important about a game? tell me please.
i will add you to the credits.
thanks a lot.

WELL!! :P
First off my all time favourite are:
Strategy games such as tower defence games where you need to upgrade your stuff to excel.
Role playing games where you explore an ever changing environment.
And of course action and adventure.
-
Well I reckon a furry game would be best for a small side scrolling adventure. If you didn't want to make the stuff from scratch there are many built in engines such as Gamemaker or Knitt Stories that you could use and edit to your own freewill (knowing you already have programming knowledge). A neat side scroller would be good. Maybe even allowing a feature for users to design their own fursona (colour of arms/legs/head/etc, styles of fur, species, etc) who acts as the protagonist in the game.
-
I'd agree with Anoni, a furry theme would fit either a side scrolling adventure (kind of like Dust: An Elysian Tale) or an exploring artistic game maybe? Something similar to Proteus?
-
I'm going to make it in Unity3D. that is a 3d engine, C#.
I could make a side scrolling or a rpg (never made a rpg).
-
what do you all think of a rpg what you can play with your fursona?
it's a hard to do but possible.
and what kind of rpg do you all like?
-
That would be awesome Beat! I like fantasy RPG's the most. I'm not speaking for everybody of course.
-
My favorite aspect of a game is character customization. A RPG would be awesome, games like Realm of the Mad God or World of Warcraft tend to be a lot of fun.
-
Hmm if it is an RPG you plan to make then it will be quite the effort. Character customization would definitely draw furries into playing as well as quite a few other demographics ;) . Another draw to rpg's is the skill/battle systems as well as the story. But you don't have to get all of them down pat for a good rpg and if this is your first rpg it doesn't have to be perfect.
I would suggest that you work on character customization since that will probably be the most rewarding in terms of gaining popularity and a fun game to play around with :) .
The battle system make as simple or as complicated as your comfortable with just make sure it is usable. This can be anything from turn based, to action, it could be strategy like a chess board or just a basic one like the old final fantasy games. Regardless this could potentially be one of the harder aspects depending on how in depth you want to get.
As for the story it should probably be the second biggest priority since it will increase the memorability of your game. Although it can also be ignored a bit if the other two aspects are strong. If your not comfortable with the writing aspect you could always ask for help from some of the writers in the community.
Regardless of what you decide I hope that you have fun and enjoy the finished product. :P

it will be a rpg. but first I'm going to make some little games and I have also some project of school.
if I ever want a job as game developer I need to make some games that I can show, so this is very important to me.
this game will be free to play. if somebody has a great idea or want to help be free to do. it's a big game so it can take a while.
first I'm going to think about the game physics; the game play or you can call it the rules.
then I'm going to look what kind of style I want and what kind of os it has to run on.
then look what language/engine I will use and the last thing I will think about the story.
