Church bells rang in the distance, sounding above even the clamor of the streets below Jynx's window. He rolled over, groaning as he rubbed his arm. It'd been a hard night, what with sparring with Vi. The kangaroo hit hard... she was much stronger than she first seemed, at a glance. He got to his feet, glancing around his room. His weapons lay nearby, where he always left them polished every night before he slept. A chest sat at the end of the bed with a basin. Jynx smiled and hurried to dress. If the church bells were anything to go by, it was an hour past sunrise. Half an hour to school, as per usual. Wouldn't hurt to skip wash up though, since he always showered before bed...
Jynx tucked his weapons into his belt or bag, looking out the window. Stalls ran along the street, canvas glowing in the early light. Patrons sped here and there for goods, dressed in styles from all over. Cart wheels clicked and clacked down the streets. He stretched. He'd have to be careful not to get trampled. It wasn't much fun, and Vi would never let him live it down. With one last look at the clock (Right on time), he hurried out the door. The streets weren't as bad as he thought. There was room to walk, barely, and it didn't take long to hitch a ride on an unsuspecting cart to the school. Overhead, the buildings, most older, some newer, loomed. Jynx closed his eyes. He imagined the wall set up around the town. One day, he and Vi would beat it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The ride was uneventful, jumping off one cart and onto another as he went. Before long the school loomed in front of him. Vi waved from the steps. "Were ya' been, slowpoke?" she said as he stopped in front of her. "Gamblin' with the crowds. You know-" He stopped short as the church bells rang again, thundering above the town. Jynx counted the rings. Nine. He looked over at Vi in confusion. "Nine rings? But it's only about 7:59..." "Oh, that clock always messes up from time to time," she said, shrugging.
"It skipped two hours!"
Vi smiled at him. "Stop worrying. It's just a screw-up, nothing more." She patted his right shoulder, recalling last night and knowing that his other shoulder was probably still sore. "Now let's get to class. Don't want to be late!"
Jynx nodded as they hurried inside with the other, murmmering students. But despite everything seeming normal, Jynx couldn't think about anything else but the clock.
"I'm serious, Vi," he said as they got their schoolbooks from their lockers. "I think I read something about nine rings before... and I think it meant that something bad was gonna happen..."
The kangaroo shrugged. "Well, you can check it out after school. Right now, we have class."
Jynx sighed. "Ok... but I can't help but feel that something's going to change for the worse..."

A ruckus could be heard somewhere down the halls. It sounded like clattering and the possible sound of breaking glass. The only Hell Mongrel in the school sprints down the hall, his eyes wide, but glinting with mischievousness. Soon after, teachers follow after him, chasing him for some odd reason. For what, he didn't know why, but it was really strange. His appearance maybe? Shaking his head, he looks over his shoulder and grinned, disappearing down a side hall, pressing himself against the wall. Surprisingly, his hiding spot works and they run right past him. Checking to make sure the way was clear, he steps back out into the hallway, continuing on to class as usual. His grey eyes flick between people, his body language wary. He knew no one here, having just moved from his last home. Many eyes fall onto him for what he is and his appearance, making him hiss in annoyance. "People need to sto-" He's cut off as he accidentally runs into another student, unbeknownst to him, Jynx. Backing up slightly, he glares and the spikes on his back quiver slightly. "..."

Rachel glided through the school doors, alighting on a small perch to get into her locker. Before she could reach the lock, however, something grabbed her leg and swung her away. She yelped. "Aww, what's the matter? Not big enough to get away?"
Rachel struggled desparately to get out of her attacker's grip, a large yak anthro with a penchant for picking on smaller anthros. "Leave me alone Vin! I need to get my book!" Panic shot through her as Vin grinned. Yellowed teeth blended into blonde fur and orangey-brown eyes.
"Well, I'll help you get your books." He opened her locker easily and tossed her in, putting his own lock on the outside. Rachel banged on the door as hard as she could and yelled at him to let her out, but he was already long gone to terrorize others.
"Dammit... Where's Jynx when you need him?" she muttered, banging her head ightly on the door.

Jynx stumbled backwards slightly as Aolith ran into him, and might have fallen down if Vi hadn't caught him.
He looked up at the kangaroo. "Thanks Vi."
She smiled. "No problem."
Standing back up, he looked over at Aolith. "I'm really sorry about that," he said, extending a hand. "I should have been paying more attention." He studied the Hell Mongrel with interest. "Anyway, never seen anybody like you before..." The feline glanced behind Aolith and saw the teachers that had been chasing Aolith calm down and return to their normal work...
And then he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
"One second," he said, walking past Aolith to a specific locker. A huge Yak was smiling and chuckling, about to walk away. Getting close, Jynx suddenly lashed out and placed his hand on a certain spot on the Yak's neck, causing him to suddenly pass out. Stepping over the unconscious bully, the feline went up to the locker and opened it, revealing Rachel. "Are you ok?"

He looks at Jynx's outstretched hand and blinks. No one had ever tried to talk to him, aside from screaming and running away calling him the Devil's child. Tilting his head slightly, he relaxes a little, but the spikes at his back still quiver, keeping him wary of them. "Of course you haven't seen me. I'm the only one of my kind." He explains before watching the feline free the bullied Rachel from her locker. His tail sways slightly across the ground, but doesn't hit any of them, since he was trying to not injure anyone while he was here. Looking at Vi, he nods to her slightly, wondering what her reaction was to him, but not daring to ask. "Besides, I should have been paying attention." He says quietly, leaning against the wall to try to get used to their presences, having never been around anyone like them.

"Actually, I think that you both weren't paying attention," Vi said, smiling at Aolith. "But that was my perspective."

Rachel windmilled her arms, catching herself on Jynx's shoulder. "Thanks. I REALLY need to get my locker moved," she said, jumping lightly to the perch nearby. She glanced at the Hell Mongrel while gathering her supplies. She edged behind Jynx some. "Uh, hi?"

Jynx looked back at Rachel. "It's ok, he's friendly," the cat said, smiling.

He tilts his head slightly at the word friendly, blinking a couple times. "Friendly.." He murmurs, testing the foreign word on his forked tongue. "Hmm, nope. That just doesn't sound like me." He grinned slightly sarcastically.

Jynx looked back at Rachel, shrugging. "Well..."
"He at least won't hurt you," Vi said, jumping in unliterally. "I mean, he seems like a nice enough guy..."
Jynx nodded. "Yeah, what she said." He shot a thankful glance at Vi.

He offers them a toothy grin, his forked tongue flicking a couple times. "I'm not completely harmless, but I'm not really gonna do anything." He says with a light nod. "Besides, I don't need the teachers on my tail again." He mumbles under his breath. "Anyways, I won't harm you if you don't harm me." He says, pushin off from the wall slightly.

Rachel readjusted her bag on her shoulders. "I don't think that'd be a problem."

"Fine by me.. and Vi seems to trust you, as well," Jynx said, walking over.
Vi nodded. "I won't cause any trouble." She looked to Aolith. [size=78%]"So... where are you from?"[/size]

He blinks a couple times, not because he didn't want to answer, but because he honestly didn't know. "I've been moved around from place to place, so I'm not sure." He says as he pushes a strand of lengthy sky blue hair back into place.

The kangaroo nodded. "Ok... are you a fighter of some sort?"

With this, he nods. "Yes. I'm one of the top fighters here." He grinned, his tail uncurling and reaching down to half the length of the hall. The scythe-like end twitches a couple times before he neatly curls it back at his feet. There were scratches on the floor from the barbed wire entwined around his tail made of bone, with no flesh or muscle.

Jynx raised an eyebrow. "Um... no you're not. At least, not yet... or not that I've heard of..." He scratched the back of his head. "I assume you just moved here?"

"Well, from the last school I was at I was." He says apologetically. "But yes, I have just moved here, so I'm still getting used to things." He nods, looking around the halls a couple times.

Jynx nodded. "All right... well, currently, the best fighter in the school is a teacher. That stupid lump down there," he said, motioning to the yak that he had just knocked out, "is one of the pals of one of the the best student fighters, Damien, and is the one of the second best non-teacher fighters in the school. Vi over there is another one of the top fighters here..."
Vi blushed. "Well, I'm not THAT good..." She smiled at him. "You're way better."
"Please don't start this again, Vi, I told you that I'm not a fighter," he said, looking down. "I couldn't be if I wanted to, anyway."

Rachel hopped to Jynx's shoulder, sitting there like a parrot. She ajusted her bag to her lap, smiling uncertainly. "You know, I think we should be getting to class. I think the bell's about to ring." Rachel folded her wings tight to her back. "You don't mind if I hitch a ride, do you Jynx? Same class and all..." she said, glancing at him.

His ears twitch to the mention of class, and he nearly springs off the wall. "The teachers I swear were trying to kill me earlier." He grunts, grabbing his class schedule. He scans over it quickly before nodding to them and walking to his first class. "See you around." He waves, never looking over his shoulder.

Jynx watched Aolith leave. "Interesting individual, him," he murmured, thinking about something he had read in the past...
"Jynx?" Vi said. "JYNX!"
"Huh?" The cat snapped out of his trance in time to hear Rachel's question. He smiled at her. "Not at all," he said, taking his books from Vi.

Rachel laughed, tugging his ear. "I thought cats were supposed to be attentive." She kicked her legs lightly. "So, you hear the bells today? Awful weird. Think they got the time wrong again?"

Jynx nodded reluctantly. "I hope so, Rachel.... I really hope so..."

As the friends talk, a shrieking whistle is heard, a purple ball of fire hurtles out of the sky, crashing in the courtyard , leaving a deep crater in the ground and causing a medium strength earthquake. The flames of the resulting inferno burn lukewarm, but incredibly bright, and somewhere in the middle of the inferno, Aspen is lying, unconscious.

*the sound of the chash got marco's attention. walking out of the gym and looking around for the cause and spotting the flames, not really sure what to think of the whole situation, being his first day as a substitute teacher at the school. his white fur seeming to glow in the sun. he walked towards the flames quietly. looking at aspen carefully before poking her with a long hockey stick he had been carrying* someone go get the nurse......or a mortition.....your call.
(sorry about the late intro....... >_> got sidetraced again)

aspen rises slowly, shaking her head and stoping quickly as the world begins spinning, she folds her wings around herself and begins to cry, seemingly unharmed, despite the fact she just got hurled from heaven by josia, their strongest gate gaurdian.

Jynx ran outside, curious about the noise. "What the..." The cat ran over and knelt down, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Hey there," he said. "Are you ok?"

aspen sobs heavily as she speaks " t-they b-b-banished me! i kn-knew it would happen eventually, why am i cursed to belong nowhere!!!" :'( :'( :'(

Jynx widened his eyes. "'They'?" he asked. "What are you talking about? Who did this? Can they be ki..." He blushed "Forget that last one... but who's the person who did this?" He smiles "Also... what's your name?"

marco watched quietly, not really sure if he should do something or not. instead chosing to head back to the gym to get ready for the first lot of students he would get to teach.

"i believe the closest translation for my name in your language is aspen....
moses caught me in the demon magik reference section, saint peter sealed my banishment, and josia was given the task to cast me out, i honestly don't think anyone here could kill them" she smiles lightly as another fireball streaks through the sky, pale blue, she calls out "anima gelidaeque" the fireball changes direction, streaking past jynx, it feels extremely cold, as it reaches her she snatches it out of the air and the freezing cold fire dissipates , leaving the 5' wolfess holding a 6.5 foot scythe (for image see character post in ooc, should e a link)

Jynx widened his eyes. "Angels, huh?" He looked up. "Well, they're all weak... besides, you know, Gabriel and Michael and Raziel... so there's probably some way to get you back up." He looked at the wolfess's weapon. "Let me guess... you can control ice?"

aspen gives him an odd look "yes....how did you know?"

Jynx looked at the scythe, grinning. "Oh... just a guess."

aspen spread her full 18 foot wingspan, creating a cloud of dust and shaking a few pebbles out "i'm not really sure i want to go back" she said quietly as her wings folded back "by the way, where am i? i kinda just crash landed"

Jynx smiled. "Nice wings," he said. "Glad to know i'm not the only mammal..." He stretched out his own wings temporarily. "Hmm? Oh.... well... they call this city Trian."

aspen giggles a bit seeing your wings, she pops you in the face with her left one and flies off a little ways giggling "can't catch me!!!"

Jynx chuckled and flew after her. "Wait up!" he said, chuckling

Sitting on the rooftops before class Suzumibachi, was just watching the people walk to class. Taking a deep breath as the bell struck. She closed her eyes and counted the strikes.... "9? that isnt right,well never mind".
Walking down the hallways she suddenly heard a loud crash and saw a bright light, running to the window she could see a crater outside and people gathering around it.

aspen soars higher and higher smirking softly as Jynx follows her "I didn't set the dive speed record in flight school for nothing, not to mention the closest SURVIVED dive pull, lets see if he can follow" she soars higher at stalling angle and starts to fall, she angles her wings to flip her so she dives face first, for a split second her figure outlined against the morning sun, making her robes completely transparent for an instant (angel robes are like scottish kilts) as she goes face down diving she folds her wings against her body tightly, she dives down and playfully slaps a semi-stunned Jynx in the face with one of her tails the other two streaming out behind her she dives and the whistle of the stretching of the sound barrier is heard, she opens her wings in front of the window Suzumibachi is looking out of, creating a crack to rival point blank gunfire, and streaks across campus a little too fast, giggling when a teacher dove out of the way, she threw her wings forwards and slowed, coming to a stop just before landing in the crater she created earlier.

Jynx barely manages to keep up with her, still a bit frazzled from the flight itself. "Impressive..." he said, straightening his hair and letting Rachel back onto his shoulder. He looked up to the window they had flown by to see a stunned-looking lizard girl.

Taking a step back as the angel nearly five bombs the window, Suzumibachi sees the glass shudder and shake at the sudden change in air pressure,but her focus shifts back to the movement on the other side as she readjusts the cloth mask over her mouth.

"that was fun!!!!" apen beams heavily at jynx "lets do it again! i can go faster!!!" she wags her three fluffy white tails wildly then the bell for class sounds and she looks up curiously at the noise and stops wagging ''what was that?"

"That was the bell for class," Jynx said, picking up his books. "Come on, you can join mine and Rachel's."

Hearing the bell for class Suzumibachi turned around and walked to the classroom, She knew she recognized the other person flying in the sky, They were in the same class but had never spoken a word.
Walking into class she took a seat in the back corner and waited for the other students to arrive.

aspen follows jynx "what is a"class"?" her being curious as all angels share a thirst for knowlege, full or not, but they expand their studies as they see fit, in other words, she is self taught

Jynx looks back over his shoulder. "It's a place where you learn stuff..."
Vi chuckled. "Good description, Captain Elaborate..."
Jynx grinned playfully at Vi. "Very funny."

marco got his first class organised fairly quickly, only one student trying to disrupt the class, and getting a dodgeball in the gut for his efforts which both had him on the ground catching his breath sorely for the rest of the introductions but put him in line for the rest of the lesson.after that the class got to have some fun, rather than playing tennis (what the teatcher before had told him to have them do) he had brought in some carefully made wodden swords and protective gear. letting them learn how to fight with them safely three duels at a time.

"ohhh... um, what are we learning about?" aspen feels confused as to why someone would let someone else teach them

Jynx sighed. "Stuff that isn't the things we're supposed to be learning," he said. "I mainly study outside of class... on the RIGHT subjects."

"right subjects?" aspen ruffles her wings uncertainly, highly confused as to what to think at the moment "what do you...?"

"I go to the library a lot," the cat said. "It contains the original school subjects... among other theses...."

"oh...i like libraries, we had one that had every book ever made in hev -" she quietly chokes on her words and stops in the middle of the hallway sobbing "i miss home..."

marco sent one of the students out to look for some of the students that were running late for class before going back to looking after the students in matches.

Suzumi stood up in class. Marco Sir,is this class really necessary ?

Jynx and Vi walked into the room. "Sorry we're late," Vi said. "There were some goings-on."

"oh um....where am i?" she says glancing around "i dont even go to this school" she says too quietly for anyone to hear "what am i doing here?"

Jynx leaned over to Aspen. "This is one of those rooms where you learn stuff," he said. "Play along."

"this is first period gym. it's only as necessary asit needs to be and yould you rather hit someone with a stick, get hit in the face by dodge balls or do advanced math like i was hoping to be teaching. and it's about time you got here. jynx, whichever one you are your in the next round. get some gear on and grab a wooden sword. vi, you're after him. both of you are in the thisr ring." he looked up breefly and went back to watching the three duels.

"what about me marco?" aspen asked, not calling him sir, she seriously doubted he was older than her, though she looks the same age as your general sophmore "why are you all fighting?" her demon side made her snarl and her fur bristle, but her angel side made her duck her head slightly in submission, knowing that he was in charge of the class even though she was almost positive she would win in a fight, but half of her hated fighting, and the other half.......took things too far.

"ah, you, since your nat actually part of this class you don't have to participate if you don't want to. but if you feel that your upto it i am a student down due to an unfortunat incident with a dodgeball earlier today......"

Jynx widened his eyes. "Can we just do the math?" he said, getting the gear on anyway and picking up the sword. "I don't like fighting my classmates."

"a student short?" she said torn between wanting to help, not wanting to fight, and wanting to fight "um i guess since you are a student short i can fill in.....what is dodgeball?"

"this," Vi said, picking one up and tossing it hard at Jynx.
Jynx reached behind him and caught the ball. "Nice try."

"So I just throw the ball and try not to get hit? It sounds just like archery practice in hell when I was little"she giggled and picked up a ball

Everyone looked over at Aspen in surprise.
Jynx nodded. "Yeah... I... I suppose it is..."

Suzumi glanced up at the class and the going ons. As much as she liked homing her fight skills she really didnt like being up close when training. Spinning her pen in her hands as she turned to look out of the window.

Aspen backflipped over a waist high ball and spread her wings, attempting to carpet bomb the other team

Jynx dodged a ball quickly. "When the hell did we start, anyway?" he said, glad that Aspen was on the same team.

"um.....what are you three doing?" marco stood off to the side "there arn't even any teams yet."

Jynx shrugged. "That's what I was saying," he said. "Aspen, calm down, we haven't started yet."

"Um...ok...wait uh teams?" She drops the remaining three balls she was holding on the coachs head and lands softly "whose team am I on?" She wags her three fluffy white tails happily

"Well... whatever team, I'll stick with you," Jynx said, standing next to you.
Vi walks over as well. "Count me in," she said, grinning.

YAAAY! I have friends!

Vi smiles. "You betcha."

So what teams are we on mister marco?

Everyone looked at Marco, waiting for a reply... except for Jynx, who was looking out a nearby window.

"hmm, you three will be with those two over there, the rest of you get into teams of five." he got everything set up and waited till everyone was ready before joining the six teams of five into three teams of ten

Vi smiled at Aspen, picking some lint off the cuff of one of her gloves. "Guess we're all together, right Jynx?" She looked over at the crat.
"JYNX!"
"ACK!" he said, spinning around. "Oh... Hey Vi... um, yeah. Together."

Aspen flaps her wings slowly, hovering about 4 feet off. The ground "so do I. Get to throw things yet?"

Vi and Jynx looked over at Marco for the answer

marco calmly picked the person paying the least attention. throwing the ball so it would bouce off the back of his head "play ball"

Aspen swooped in and scooped up three balls and proceeded to do a flyover and carpetbomb the opposing team she yelled out a demon battlecry, sounding like an entire pride of lions roaring in demonic language "your soul will be mine!"

Vi and Jynx watched with wide eyes, dodging and throwing balls as they did.
"Um... I think she may be going a bit overboard..." Vi said.

Aspen barrelrolled right to avoid a ball and flew upside down with her face to the ceiling and caught the ball she just. Avoided and landed beside vi and grabbed her shoulder and threw her to the left so she didn't get hit in the face by a ball and threw the ball she had caught and threw it hard at the fur who had tried to hit vi and knocked him off his feet

The kangaroo went to regain her balance when she noticed a blur coming toward her. Thinking quickly, Vi balanced backward and flopped to the ground, the thrown ball coming within an inch of her nose.
"Too close," Jynx said, nodding at Vi.
The kanga smiled and got up. "You can say that again, d.... OOF!"
Vi winced as a ball hit her in the right in the pouch, causing her to double over. However, she still managed to catch the ball as it ricocheted off her body, then tossed it to Jynx, who tossed it right at the thrower.

marco sat on the tage watching, half tempted to knoch down the new kid with a ball but he decided one student going to the sick bay a lesson would be enough. he was impressed when one of the kids caught a hard throw, even ignoring when the kid that threw it got hit in the crotch be the throw back.

Jynx winced. "Sorry, Dave!" he said, dodging another ball.

Aspen was flying lazy circles when about four or five balls got thrown hard at her, "uh oh" she spilled the air from her wings and dropped fast, she landed hard, not having enough room to slow down she fell flat and rolled left to avoid a ball that bounced where her head had been just a second earlier.

Vi nodded. "Nice moves."

marco sat there calmly calling out whoever got out. by this point it was down to the three late students against half the rest of the other team. he lightly tossed dave an ice pack when he made it up onto the stage.

Aspen turned to the other two "stop throwing start dodging we need to gather as many of the balls as possible" when all but a few of the balls where on their court she flew as high as she could and shouted down " when I start the dive, throw them at me, give it all the heat you can, the corkscrewing should create enough centrifical force to throw them in their direction" she flew up a little higher and faced down dropping into a steep dive with a tight corkscrewing spiral"

Suzumi just looked at the game from the far end spinning something shiny around her fingers.
"That kind of does look like fun, but its not my cup of tea" she whispered to herself.

As they were told, both Jynx and Vi rapidly threw balls at Aspen.

As she spins aspen grabs what balls she can and slingshots them in the direction of the other team, the balls collide with the concrete walls of the gym leaving dents and cracks in the cinderblock wall, three of the students are hit and fall, gasping for air, their wind knocked out, aspen hits the ground hard and backhand springs, landing on her feet

The two furs stared at aspen.
"Geez," Vi said.

"I like this game. In archery practice I got an arrow tjrough my liver and my knee once"

Everyone stared this time.
"Um... Sir, I think the game's over," Jynx said, hitting the last person who was standing up quickly with a ball.

"Why am I being stared at?" Aspen ducks brhind jyn

Jynx quickly placed his hands on Aspen's shoulders and led her out of there and into an abandoned classroom. Locking the door, he turned to her.
"Ok... Aspen?" he said. "We should talk..."

"ok game over. next time it will be the losing team vs the one who hasn't played." marco got up and helped clean up "and you three are free to go since you did so well. the rest of you can go as soon as the bell does."

"Talk? About what?" Aspen looked around trying n9t to look confused

Jynx sighed. "Well... in this world, angel training injuries probably seem a bit insane, so... try to act like you're not one for now, ok? It's..."
"Hard to explain," Vi said, walking in in her normal clothes. "It's just a lot of these folks aren't as strong as angels, ya know?"

walks out from the shadows " most of us aint even human or part human"

"But those injuries where from when I visited daddy in hell, I'm only got as far as flight training in heven,they wouldn't train me to fight" she pulled aside her hair revealing horns "half demons were not allowed to fight so daddy taught me to fight and I taught myself magik"

"Um ok, I'm sorry... vi? Jynx? Can you um teach me to be well... normal? Also my stomach feels weird...am I hurt or somthing?" Her stomach growls loudly and she jumps "eep!!!!! What was that?!"

Jynx and Vi exchanged a look, then looked back at Aspen.
"I'm guessing they didn't have food in heaven?" Vi said.

"Um food? We never eat in heven, is this why you guys eat? Hmmm...makes sense I never understood..." she grins widely and frowns as her stomach growls again.

Jynx gently took Aspen's hand and led her towards the door. "Come on... It's nearly lunchtime anyhow."

So what's for lunch? Aspen looked at the other two...and promptly ran straight into a male wolf she fell to the floor, knocked down "hey watch where you-" she cut off blushing so hard her fur looked pink instead of white he looked at her and walked off she sat on the floor stunned

Jynx watched the wolf walk off, then looked back at Aspen. "Um... you ok?" he asked carefully.
Vi chuckled. "Oh boy..."

"i-i guess i'm ok....who was that?" she got up slowly and smiled

Vi smiled. "Me neither... but he has the same lunch as us."

aspens thoughts turned back to her stomach "oh ok" she got up and ran down the hallway...in the wrong direction

Jynx dashed down the hallway and grabbed her arm. "It's the other way," he said. "Just follow us."

aspens stomach growled as she stared at her plate then poked at the food with one paw, having never eaten or really seen food before she sat and stared at her plate, all of a sudden she sneezed and her wings sprung out...right into the school bully, knocking him straight to the ground and folding back in, she didn't notice and kept silently staring at....wshatever was on her plate

(well basicly from what i have read, we are at a school, people do have superpowers, and i fell out of the sky, we are eating lunch right now, and my character is a half angel, half demon, is learning how to be somewhat "normal", we are basicly just going through with normal school activities for now)

Rachel glided down the hallway, using the currents created by the students and teachers below her that rushed to and from classes and lunch. She'd stayed longer than her friends to help Vez, a student who liked a little tutoring on her math. Now, she'd have to avoid getting caught or squashed because of it. 'No good deed goes unpunished, I suppose,' she thought, landing on a nearby perch. The toucans wouldn't like her on it, but she would only be there a moment.
Rachel glanced around, taking her chance to glide through the open flier hatch with her lunch box in hand. The caffeteria was quiet at least, so her sensitive ears didn't hurt too badly. A broad smile lit up her face as she spotted Jynx and Vi. "Hey, guys! You save me a space?" she called. Her voice was still rough from clapping the erasers while she'd talked, but that was pretty normal. Once a teacher's pet, always a teacher's pet.

"huh? jynx? who is that?" aspen looked up at the girl curiously

Rachel alighted on a nearby chair, more than a little glad the lunch crowd had already come in. "The stupid bat that needs to work on her grades," she said, playfully sticking out her tongue at him.
Kids hurried to from a variety of tables as she opened her lunch. A small variety of fruits sat inside, and she quickly took a bite of an apple. "So, Jynx, Vi, could you cover the last classes for me? I'd owe you. I want to check my mom, you know, make sure she didn't hide in the basement when she heard the chimes."

Rachel smiled, nibbling a strawberry. "Thanks. I'd owe you." She turned to Aspen, still smiling. "So, where ya from? Near the walls, inner city, mid ring...?"

Vi clapped a hand over Aspen's mouth before she could reply. "Oh, she's... from around," she said quickly, giving Aspen a look that said not now.
Jynx shrugged. "Yeah... um, we'll tell you later, Rachel..."

"mmmm mmm mmmph" she pulled away "and then i met these two and we came to lunch" she looked at them "when is later? what are we doing after lunch?" her eyes lit up as a sudden thought occurred to her "where are you guys from?"

Jynx sighed and looked around, then looked back at Rachel. "Well... to be honest, there's only been what's inside the wall so far," he said. "No one here really knows what's outside... but I've been looking things up in the library..."
Vi sighed. "He lives over on Ninth Street, in a pretty nice attic... considering it's the slum area," she said. "I live over in the Glens, and Rachel lives...?" The kangaroo looked over at the small bat. "Where do you live again?"

Rachel licked her lips of strawberry juice. "Near the military base. The smoke keeps us bats inside the walls," she said, smiling. "Mom and I love to fly circles around them. It's great fun when they're training."

Without warning, a familiar figure drops from a portal near the doors, unconscious and bleeding plasma from open wounds. The Hell Mongrel looked pretty rough with torn clothes and a broken horn, his tail missing some barbed wire in a section, though it never came unravelled. He lay still and breathing raggedly, a slight twitch coming from his hands as if trying to wake up.

aspen ran over and shielded the two of them with her wings, she stayed like that for several minutes, when she pulled away the more serious wounds were almost gone and the smaller ones were gone entirely, the only thing to show was the blood matted fur "he should be okay, someone help me move him"

Vi nudged Rachel. "C'mon, we'd better help!!!"

Rachel hopped on Vi's shoulder, knowing that without a window open, she'd be unable to fly, and walking would take too much time. "Should I get the nurse? 'E doesn't look... normal," she said. She was worried, sure, but she had no clue what else she could do to help. She wasn't exactly their size after all.

At that moment, he jolted awake, his grey eyes looking hazy and darker than before. "What.. Where am I?" He croaked, his voice hoarse. He grimaced slightly at the sight of himself as he looked around, flicking his ears slightly. He blinked, putting a hand up to his ears to feel the left one almost missing entirely. A short cry of rage escapes from him and he tries to stand, but falls back still in Jynx's grasp. None of this seemed a single bit familiar to him and he twitched slightly as he looks at the faces around him.

"hey! calm down, i can't finish healing your wounds, with you squirming around, now what happened?" she clapped a paw back down on him, in his weak state putting him back down on the ground

He looks at her, stunned. "I-I don't remember.." He murmurs. He doesn't struggle as she says she's helping him, and stares blankly at the ceiling, trying to remember what had happened.

she pushes back the forming crowd with her wings "give me room or god and satan themselves help you" after a few minutes she stands, most of his ear is restored, a few cuts are left, but they are much better than the gashes they used to be "anyway, he is well enough, now first off what is your name?"

He feels his ear and nods, looking at the female who helped him. "I-I'm Aolith." He says, flicking his long, yet strange tail.

Where was he from? He just blinked at, his expression blank. "I'm not even sure." He says, honestly. It was true, he didn't know where he came from. He just appeared one day with the sense to kill and a natural sarcasm about almost everything. That's the way his kind works, with him being the only one in a lonely existence. His breathing catches in his throat as he realizes this. "I'm not from anywhere..." He says quietly.

at that moment the principals voice came over the crowd in the room "attention students, we are evacuating the school due to goverment mandate, we ask that you proceed to the exits calmly (never actually happens calmly) so that they can investigate the crater in the courtyard

"i can do fast...but why?" she grabbed Vi in a hug from behind and kissed her forehead, it glowed bluish a moment and then she began to feel lighter "hold on, i've never actually took passengers before" she kicked of the ground and hovered, waiting to find what direction they were going

Aolith stood in his confusion, an eyebrow raised as he looked around. Why did he remember Jync and Vi, but not the others? And what was this place? He started to curl his tail around himself until he felt the barbed wire catch his fur, remembering his creation, but not where he was from. "What's going on?" He asked, his ears perking forward.

Jynx held up his hands. "No, Aspen, not like that!!!!" He quickly pulled Vi back to the ground. "I meant that we should just join the throng and leave with them." Sighing, he turned toward Aolith. "And yes, we have met. Earlier, actually, before all this weird stuff happened. Now can we please just go quietly and without any weirdness for once?"
Vi looked at Jynx, then just sighed. "Let's just go... we can hang out at my house..."

they begin walking outside when a SWAT officer points at aspen "HEY YOU! stop!"

Aolith nodded to Jinx and looked at the people running for doors. He says nothing else as he shivers slightly, having a strange feeling. The spikes down his spine raise slightly and quiver as he spots the men yelling at Aspen.

Jynx looked over at the SWAT officers. "Oh jesus...." He sighed. "Well... this is going to go well..." He looked back, picked up a rock, and tossed it lightly across the floor at the SWAT team. "Hey, guys, back off, ok? We're just students..."

aspen turned around and the officer ran up to her "sorry, wrong student, sister asked me to pick up her kids...you have a good day, be safe"
aspen grinned at him "yes officer, we will" she turned around to the others "so? are we going or not?"

as they walked along aspens face went blank and she stopped walking, it was one o'clock the bells sounded one...two? three? four? five? six? why six? it was 0ne o'clock, even by the sun
kiva began walking to a nearby church, an odd blank look on her face she tripped on the curb and accidentally sliced her wrist on a piece of broken glass, her wrist bleeding all over the pavement she suddenly snapped to attention and began to heal her wrist, she ran back to the others "sorry i don't know where i was going..."
no one happened to notice the grubby old man bend over and whisper a few words, the blood seeming to leap off the pavement into a vial in his hand (this guy is a plot character, he's yours to control...i was hoping this might throw things into motion...collecting ingredients for a summoning)

Jynx helped Aspen to her feet. "It's alright, Aspen..." Gently taking hold of her wrist, he pulled a strip of cloth from his pocket and wrapped it around her wound. "We'll get some help for that later..." After staring quizzically at the now clean ground, he turned to Vi. "So... your place, then?"
Vi nodded. "Yeah... my parents are never home anyway, so it should be fine..."

Aolith had trailed behind them, completely silent as he looked around, his ears pinned back. He didn't have much to say since he had gotten here, his tail flicking once but leaving a mark against the ground due to the barbed wire around it.

Vi walked ahead of the others and glanced back over her shoulder. "It's a few miles from here... I normally walk home, even in the rain..." She looked up at the sky. "Although it's not raining today..." She shrugged and walked on. "Anyway, it's a nice place... just don't make too much of a mess, my parents will MURDER me..."

Jynx thought for a second. "Well, yeah.... but by yourself. Don't take Vi or Rachel or me or... um, the other guy with you..." He looked around. "I mean, you're not the only one with wings, but those without wings shouldn't be flying... people might get very suspicious." The crat looked at her seriously. "BAD people."

"ok!!" she leaped into the air and flapped, going into a dive and spiraling back down lazily, following them from above

Rachel glided silently after them, the thermals helping her out. She smirked. "You sure they would this time? I mean, I've seen your locker..." she said, laughing. Really, she liked these people, but teasing was just too much fun.
The pavement was hot underfoot, the noon sun beating down on them. Buildings, tall, thin, and rather ornate, sat so close it was hard to believe there was room to walk on the sidewalk. People passed them, laughing and talking about any variety of topics in their little groups.
As they moved away from the school, flowers started to bloom in little sidewalk flower boxes. Little shops, some goods shops, others more personal shops, emerged through the heat, and soldiers milled with the civilians. The scents of baking bread wafted around them, sweet and delicious and mingling with the smell of blueberries in the market. Doors sat open to allow people in and out, allowing even more scents and sounds to waft around them. Bitter liquors from the brewery, sweet perfumes from the flower shop, sawdust from the woodshop... Ahh, it was a shopper's dream and a wallet's nightmare.

Vi widened her eyes and quickly grabbed Aspen by the arm, dragging her towards her house. "Yeah... not that store," she said, struggling to bring Aspen towards her house.

Suddenly, the door opened and a cowled figure exited the building. He followed the figure with his line of sight until he went down another way, turning back to the others. He would just remain silent for the time being, his head throbbing from his earlier encounter, only talking when talked to. His tail sways above the ground, the barbed wire just barely scraping over the surface, lost deep in thought.

The kangaroo stood there with a look of slight shock on her face. "I... I think he just threatened us..." She shivered and tugged on Aspen's arm. "Come on, guys... we should really get to my house before something else happens..."

"that man...he was a demon, there are three...in one day...usually the only times we are this abundant are the times you call "war"...possessed men making trouble...why can't i go in that store?"

He tuned in for a moment and caught bits of what they were saying, especially what Aspen had said. "..War.." He says softly, just above a whisper. He jolts slightly, a sudden memory hitting him. "War." He repeats. "Inter-dimensional war." He says slightly louder, feeling his partially missing ear.

"so don't you think that is weird? after all from the way people are acting, it does not seem like you get visitors, holy, unholy, or otherwise very often, so there are three in one day?" she looks at the store and sniffs the air "why can't i go in there?"

Vi looked right at Aspen, an annoyed look on her face. "Because I don't want a drunk angel on my hands, ok?"
Jynx thought silently. "Hmmm...." He looked at the others. "I may go to the library later... I think I read something like this..." He looked at Vi and smiled. "Err... good luck..."

Rachel landed lightly on Jynnx's shoulder, opening her wings for balance. "Can I go?" she said. "We can use my card for taking the books out. I just have pay the fine first."
She was light on his shoulder, and her soft, dark, curly hair framed her face just above his eyes. Unfortunately, her wings ruined the effect. The double pair made her look more like a demon than someone to be trusted.

"what does drunk mean? ohh ohhh i can't wait to see an earth library!" she continues as the group stops walking then runs back to rejoin them "so is this your home?"

Jynx smiled at Rachel. "Yeah... seems fine to me."
Vi facepalmed. "SIGH.... No, but we're close," she said." And drunk means... inable to function."

(Yay, I can finally start posting!)
As he made his way down the street, Jorm began to ponder several things. First and foremost, why did that group have an angel with them? He thought of reporting this to the other generals, however he ran the risk of an interrogation. If the generals interrogated him, they would discover his carefully concealed secret. Since he was born, he had the ability to manipulate his blood into becoming a weapon due to his demonic heritage. He had possibly sensed similar abilities in those individuals he had encountered. "I'll have to keep a close eye on them." he thought.

Jynx looked over at Aspen. "So I've been doing research on the town.... mainly of the things that the elders don't want us to know." He winked, then continued. "Anyway, I found mentions of a civilization previous... one that started before... something."
Vi raised an eyebrow. "Something?"
Jynx shrugged. "Well... I haven't found out what it was... but I'm clWAIT..." The crat looked at Aolith. "Did you say something about war?!"

His attention snaps up and he looks at Jynx. "Yeah.. It's sorta the only thing I remember right now." He says, shrugging slightly. His ears flick and he looks around. "If it's okay with you, I'd rather not talk about it here." He nods, his grey gaze falling to the ground.

Jynx nodded slowly. "Alright... when we get to Vi's house then." He turned to Vi. "How much farther?"
Vi pointed down the street. "About a few blocks that way..."

He nods and stays close to the group as they walk, his ears pinned back slightly. Why was only this returning to him now and not anything else? He breathes out a frustrated sigh and shoves his hands into his pockets.

Vi walked up to the door of a large, nice-looking house. "Here we are!" she said, smiling. "Now to find the key..." The kangaroo lifted her shirt and stuck her hand in her pouch, searching around. "You know, I should really clean this thing out... it's getting kind of cluttered in... Oh!" Vi withdrew her hand to reveal a keychain with a couple of keys on it. "Here we are," she said, tugging her shirt back down and choosing a small bronze key from the ring. "Just a few seconds..."

There really wasn't much to add that wouldn't alarm them, and most of it was from a variety of books she'd gotten. Instead, she said, "Hey, Vi, Jynx? Mind if I start toward the library instead? I want to find something specific." She flexed her wings slightly, enjoying the feeling.
(As a note, I was thinking she could be... 'persuaded' against them while she splits up. When they meet again, it would be late to the party. ;) )

Aolith steps across the threshold, unsure, but pushing himself to do it. Honestly, he was a bit shaken from his memories and was unsure of how to react at this time. His tail curls up and he keeps his hands in his pockets, the spikes on his back quivering and raising slightly.

Maybe a well intentioned extremist for the good side. :) I just like to test what I can do with characters instead of always picking the right side. Good is great, but grey is human. And often, I have characters that don't turn evil, so much as morally ambiguous. Also, I'm more horrified because on kangaroos, the pouch is the womb... XD Brain bleach island, dead ahead!)
Rachel stared at her, backing away.* "Uh, O...Kay? Um, thank you for... sharing?" She looked at Jynx, more than a little creeped out. She immediately took to the skies to get away from the situation.

He then began heading toward the library, cautious to remain unnoticed by the surrounding townspeople. After arriving at the library's entrance, he quickly ducked down and went inside. He entered the first aisle and began to browse among the shelves of books.
