very sad story here
a few days ago i bought a special cooling lapdesk to stop my laptop from overheating and then a day later i decided to delete a ton of stuff from the control panel i was hoping this would be enough to stop my laptop from overheating when playing tf2 in time for the mann vs machine update ...how wrong i was...It over heated WHILE WAITING FOR A SERVER ...THREE TIMES...evrey time i deleted more stuff and it still never worked i even deleted some of the pre installed software in an effort to make it work the stressful part is that i keep trying to play coop with ppl i know on steam and i suddenly disconnect :C
anyway has anyone else had the TF2 blues ?
if so mention it here :)

I have a great computer that I was planning on playing so many games on like TF2, but it turns out my college network blocks Steam. So yeah, I've never even been able to play TF2.

Damn, sorry about both of ya'lls luck, TF2 is a great game.
I feel your pain about overheating, though. TF2 seems to HATE laptops XD
I have to restrict my straight game time for 1-2 hours a session, and I have to periodically blow into my fan to make sure dust isn't in it, because if my fan stops for one second that's one lost game of tf2.
Hey, add me on steam: themysticmage
We can talk and maybe play tf2 if you ever get it to work right :D

yeah i have to use a fan cooling lapdesk and evrey time there's an interval i place the top left corner in the center of the fan since thats where its the hottest
also have you tried deleting all the junk you get on our laptop after streaming a video from youtube etc? that usually frees up processing power too
