(I'm starting for Kaya on her request.)
Apple blossoms floated on the light breeze, just past their bloom. Cherry blossoms had fallen just days before, leaving the trees as the last bits of snow disappeared from the gardens. Lady Escanda smiled lightly. Springtime was such a relief to see when the country was in disarray. There was so little hope anymore, and so much death, she could hardly believe they'd made it two years.
Already, the killers had escalated to larger towns. It'd been in such a haphazard motion that there was really no way to know where they'd hit next. Even the methods had changed from simple, mysterious deaths to grusome ones the soldiers had a tough time stomaching. The time it took to get from one place to another didn't help matters. She sighed. They'd strike again in two days, and still they hadn't a clue who was behind it.
She was jolted out of her thoughts by a hand on her shoulder. One of her guard, Marcina, smiled at her. From Escanda's seat on the marble bench, Marcina seemed twice as large as usual. "Fair Lady Eascada, the group is ready for your orders."
Escanda nodded, getting to her feet. "Better get this over with, poor dears."
Marcina followed as Escanda lead the way through exotic lilies and roses. Marigolds surrounded the fountain they passed. Ivy grew up the stone walls and over the stone walk. It was always a beauty to see such life around them.
Escanda walked up the steps and through halls, listening intently as Marcina told of the groups members. "Not very large, is it?"
Marcina stopped in her report for a moment. "I'm afraid not. Four people, including M'Lady and I."
"I don't like these odds, but so be it," she said quietly. She stepped into the throne room with Marcina. "Thank you for coming young warriors." Marcina stepped to the back of the group, waiting with Escanda for someone to speak.

Scarlet smiled and bowed to her master. "miss i will be glad to go out further for you. i will find that book...." she stayed kneeling the room was dark, but decorated in beautiful mahagoney rugs, dark walnut funiture the candelbra held purple candles, the magic in them was making the room smell of violets and honey, the flame was blue. she really did not want to leave her home... but the attack must be launched in two days time.
-
Lucinda lounged sideways on her chair, a basket of jerkey beside her and book in hand. She didn't look up at Scarlet's words. "Good. Lead the attack on the next town. Keep an eye out for that assassin. If you see him, draw him here. I have business with him." She waved her hand to dismiss Scarlet, stopping after a moment and grinning. "On second thought, I have a very different plan for you. Send Marcus out with the attack."
-
Scarlet abrubtly looked up. "Why marcus? he doesnt do anyhting right. he'll just end up getting captured." scarlet could not believe she was sending marcus out insted of her. what ever mission shhe got had better be better than the attack.. because if it was not.. there would be problems....
-
Lucinda got to her feet, ignoring the question. She set her book and venison in the chair, walking toward a doorway to the right. "Come."
-
Scarlet stood and walked after her.
-
A room filled with smoke and mirrors greeted them, a tiny table in the middle. A crystal ball and candle were the only things else in the room. The heavy scent of blood and drugs filled the air.
Lucinda stepped to the ball, whispering an incantation. "Come here Elizabeth. I don't have all day."
(Can you please make a good character as well, just for this?
-
sure) Scarlet entered the room and growled. "Miss i have told you befor that i am not my sister... that traitor is dead to me."
Elizabeth's face appeared in the ball along with others in Escandas meeting quarters. she brushed her long flowing golden hair out of her face. someone a pretty as that.. they should have known she was going to be a traitor.
"What do you want miss?"
-
She growled at Scarlet. "They will be heading out soon. Your Sister is a prime concern to our goal, and I DON'T want a repeat of what happened last time we met up with her. Eliminate her. I will take it from there." She pushed her hair out of her face. "Do I make myself clear?"
-
She growled. "Fine miss." She headed out after dawning her gear.

When no one spoke, Rachel stepped forward. "It's an honor for all of us Fair Lady Escanda." She'd dressed carefully, her armor hiding most of her features. A sword rested against her hip, engraved with the same sign as her armor; a large, beautiful heart, embellished with roses.
Escanda gulped, fighting her instincts to reach out and force her back beside her. Rachel had chosen this journey, and she'd agreed. She had to trust Rachel knew what she was doing. "Of course. As you can see, I've chosen two of my guard to accompany you on this mission for protection against whatever lies in wait." She took another deep breath, forcing the rising dread out of her mind.
"The attacks are getting more brutal, and I need competant people to take this threat down. My soldiers are stretched too thin to take care of this personally, but you will be likely to see them in your travels." One of her royal guard stepped forward, a box of medals in hand. "These have been blessed by the goddesses. They will provide some divine protection on your travels." She motioned them forward to recieve the medals.
-
*riku steped forward quietly and took his medal without saying anything more than "than you your grace." moving it around in his hands for a little, looking it over for a little before adding it to his bag of trinkets for later and returning to the line. waiting for the others to get their medals, not wanting to seem rude infront of the others but also wanting to eat. guickly pulling a piece of bread out of his pocket and eating it while no one was looking*
-
Rachel stepped up next, out of tradition more than need. In truth, both Marcina and herself had medalions already. She smiled a bit as she took the medallion. Escanda couldn't muster the same. A sad look crossed her face as Rachel walked to the group again.
Marcina stepped up next, squeezing Escanda's hand reassuringly. Escanda look up at her, fighting the tears that threatoned to well up. 'Protect her for me,' she mouthed before letting Marcina stand beside Rachel. She stood sadly for a moment. She sighed and waited for the next person.
-
Elizabeth went up and got her medal. no one else in the room had even noticed her in there... she excepted it and went back to her place after bowing .
-
Two very tall figures walked in, one with a scimitar hanging from his hip, the other with a bow and quiver on her back and a sword on her hip as well. The male, a white furred wolf with teeth that shined with his smile, went right over to the Queen and gave her a bow.
"My Queen, to what pleasure do I owe the summons for both me and my companion?" He then stood upright and practically turned around to his friend, who didn't even seem to notice the queen, but was definitely noticing Marcina.
The wolf put a hand over his eyes and sighed as the companion, a black dragoness, approached Marcina. There was no hesitation in her steps as she embraced Marcina. one of her arms getting very close to the knight's hindquarters.
"So how's my favorite mare doing? Are you free for a drink at the tavern whe-" The wolf cut her off by dragging her over to the queen, subsequently dragging Marcina with them.
"Elistra, can't you at least show Auntie some respect before flirting with another woman?" The wolf said, though he couldn't help but grin at Marcina.
"But Horaaaace, I wanted to greet my girlfriend first." She then turned to the Queen and flashed a smile. "Hello my Queen, is it not a lovely day?"
-
Marcina laughed, hugging Elistra back before stepping back. "It's always good to see a friendly face. Maybe we can catch that drink later."
Rachel smiled, bowing politely and smiling. "Tis good to see you all again. Happy travels I hope?"
Escanda cleared her throat, smiling. "It's nice to see you Horace, Elistra. I called you here for help, even if you ARE late. You've seen the carnage those murderers have wrought, correct?" She'd always been a bit... estranged from her nephew. He lived a deal away, and Elistra was much the same. It wasn't that she didn't love them as family, she just couldn't be around them often enough to truely know them.
-
riku watched the procedings quietly, from the two late members walking to their conversation with the queen. fidling around with the insides of his sleave, every now and then pulling a small chunk of bread out and quickly putting it in his mouth when he thought no one was looking, but not sure of anyone behind him.
after a little while he grew bored and pulled a little bettle shaped cape clasp and held it in his hand, feeling the slight vibraion as he examined it with his hand, feeling what he could do to it.
-
Elizabeth stood and begun finger combing her tail. if she did not do that at least onece a day.. it would end being a snarly mess later... it was more out of habit than necesaty. she glanced up when an odd bunch walked in.. but quickly went back to combing her tail. it was nice when people did not think you were paying any mind to their conversations.
-
"We had issues with getting directions..." Elistra cut him off as he was about to continue, by laughing and leaning against a column in the room.
"You were stammering the entire time, of course I had to step in and do it fo-" "You started chatting her up the moment you got the directions!" Elistra was now showing a near-perfect example of Horace's stammering as she looked at Marcina. "I-I... but she... I didn't... I'm sorry Marci, it just happens, I'm still waiting for you, please forgive me!!"
-
Marcina tapped Elistra's rump, smiling. "Don't worry, I know you."
Escanda pinched the bridge of her nose. 'Every. Time.' She growled. "That's enough you two. Marcina, stand in line. Elistra, Keep your habits to yourself while I'm telling you WHY I called you here. Now. I assume you know what's happened recently. I want you two to help stop the killers. We have a small group set up already. Do you understand this, or do I have to pin your ears to the wall and THEN tell you?" She loved her family, really she did, but there was a line for everything.
Danny smiled as Marcina stepped in beside her. Only five people in the whole of the world could get her mother's pantaloons in a bunch, and her cousins were at the top.
-
Elistra jumped at the tap, and her stammering turned into absolute silence. Horace gestured towards Elistra, and the dragoness snapped out of the hormone-based spell to join her charge.
"The lords above and below know of these murders, but the description of their demises hardly sound like it was an assassin's work. They believe that a certain book, discovered around a year before the deaths occurred, is the more likely culprit for these deaths. They did not provide more information, as it would violate their direct intervention treaty between each other."
Elistra coughed to draw attention to herself, then tried to be as serious as possible, despite having thoughts of her and Marcina running through her mind. "It could also be a group of assassins, but then the change in the state of the corpse could mean that our targets are either getting bored, or the deaths are starting to take a toll on their sanity."
-
it took scarlet quite a while to get going, little problems started poping up every chance they could. Her left shoe was missing, the ties for her gear were as well. quite a few of her favorite knives were mising. she sighed when she saw a little dool on the floor under her chair. she knew who had hidden all of her stuff. She was going to miss him just as much as he would her. Scarlet should have known that little Andrew was listening to her and Lucinda. He always did that.
she walked through the halls calling for him to come out and stopped when she heard giggling "Andrew, honey, what did you do with NaNa's things? those are not toys you know." she lifted the lid to a large chest and a small male lion cub was sitting in the bottom messing around with the knives and the string. He had her shoe on.
Andrew looked up smiling sadly. "i dont want you to go though. you are never here for me to play with anymore." he started sniffling then began to cry. "y-you are... y-you a-are a-always gone. we n-never g-get to p-play!" Scarlet scoped him up and held him close.
"Nana's just been really busy lately. Miss Lucy (lucinda.) has me working very hard. you know i have to work." she wiped his nose with a small hankie. " i will play with you as soon as i get back. I promice."
he stopped crying at that and rubbed his eyes. "y-you d-do?"
Scarlet nods. "yes of course i will silly. then we can play the throwing game. thats still your favorite right?" Andrew nods then starts squerming. scarlet sets him down and he hugs her leg. " I'm going to count till you get back. that way i know how many times i get to beat you in the throwing game." he smiles and runs off leaving Scarlet's things scattered but all there.
She quickly fixed everything and sighed. she adored that little kid. to bad his mother died a few raids ago. one of the villagers got a lucky stab with their skinning knife... Scarlet quickly started off towards the palace woods to await for elizabeths arrival.
~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabeth smiled slightly to herself. she hardly knew why but she just felt like doing so.
-
*riku grew bored and a little iritable watching the others, deciding that it was time to find smething more constructive, or destructive, to do* your grace, if you have n further need of me at the moment i'd like to get some rest, i hadn't gotten much on my hastened ride here from my place in lord tyrel's holdfast. *he kept his voice calm, slowly flexing his hands while keeping them hidden behind his back in a semi-formal stance, hoping he would be aloud to leave*
-
Escanda smiled and nodded. "Good observation. You'll be excellent in the feild." She turned to the group. "You may all stay here to rest for the night. Tomorrow you may leave to start your journey."
Rachel bowed lightly, quickly retreating to her room. It'd be a long fight to win, and she wanted to make sure she was in fact prepared. She bit her lip as she walked. 'They mustn't come here. They won't."
-
Elistra quickly picked up on the idea, and went right towards Marcina. "So will I be waiting at the tavern for you, or do I have the privilege of my mare in shining armor escorting me there?"
Horace let out a sigh at Elistra's attempts at flirting. "I will get us a traveler's carriage... the rest of you enjoy yourselves." He announced before giving his Aunt a bow and leaving the room.
-
Marcina smirked. "Maybe my damsel in distress would prefer a little something befor the carriage gets here." She winked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rachel sat on her bed, feeling the embroidery of the gown in her hands. It'd once been her mother's, a beautiful purple satin and black silk day gown. Many of her gowns had once been her mother's. Every one brought up memories of being with the woman. Ballet lessons, reading, curling up on Escanda's bed when she'd had a bad dream... She sighed. No point dwelling on the idea. Her mother would be fine, and she'd see her through the mirror. No worries.
-
Elistra wraps her arms around Marcina, brushing her snout against Marcina's muzzle. "You could tell me if you're coming with us on our investigation. In fact, if we didn't have this investigation going on, I was g-going... t-to propose." She let out a chuckle as a sigh. "I swear, if I didn't pick up Horace's stammering..."
Horace went to his home, which was what one would expect of a person who was blood related to royalty. His estate was more like a place of worship, made of stone and stained glass. He went to the side and went to an overhang that held a rather large metal-frame carriage. He looked at all of the wheels, noting the vines wrapped around the spokes. He unsheathed his scimitar and went to work cutting down all the vines and dragging the cart out.
He took out the bars, then started to focus his mind, light forming between the bars and reins forming onto an equine body. Eventually a unicorn comes into existance, and silently awaits for Horace to get onto the carriage before heading back to the castle though Horace made sure to travel along paths that were known only to the Royal Family, to prevent the chance of drawing attention to the unusual creature drawing the carriage.
-
*riku bowed and turned to leave, eating another peice of bread on the way. he walked out into the streets and quickly vanished into the crowds and moving through the streets to the small inn he was staying in. heading up to the small room that he had been given dispite the inn being only half full at the time. he didn't mind though, it ment he had privacy to practice his 'art'.
*pulling back his sleeves he examined the chains secured around his forearms, both of them suddenly vibrating as smaller chains formed and moved along his arms, matching the skeletal structure under his skin and seeming to attatch itself to his hands as he flexed his fingers*
-
Marcina led Elistra out to the garden, smiling. "Darling, I'll be going with the group. Protection." When Elistra's other statement sunk in, Marcina went a rather dark shade of red. "Really? You'd be willing to do that with me?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rachel looked up as the door opened. "May I talk to you Rachel?" Escanda said, stepping into view. She'd let her hair down, brushing mid back. Rachel smiled.
"You know you're always welcome Mother. You own the palace," Rachel said, patting beside her. She'd already taken her armor off, dressed now in simple trousers and a loose shirt. A pair of boots lay nearby. Even without the armor, she had an air of power to her.
Escanda sat beside her, sighing. "Dear, are you sure this is what you want to do? You can always back out. No one would blame you."
Rachel nodded. "I'm sure. I can't stay home my whole life and just look out the window every now and again. I need to use my training." She looked down at the dress, taking a deep breath, only looking up when Escanda wrapped her in a hug. Tears fell against her hair.
"I don't want you to get hurt, do you hear me? Not a single scratch. Promise me," Escanda said, her voice muffled in Rachel's hair. Rachel hugged her back, fighting tears as well.
"I promise. I will be careful." She curled close to Escanda. She'd fought the thoughts of really leaving for several months out of mind before, but everything was rushing back now. Her mother's scent had comforted her so much as a cub. If she went, that comfort would be gone in times of need.
-
Elistra's hands ventured further down, her voice regaining confidence from Marcina's reply. "Marci, I've talked and flirted with enough women to fill every bed in the barracks, castle, and inn. Half of them were not interested in other women, less than half of that were interested in me." She gave the horse a gentle kiss, the chain-mail chinking as Elistra moved her body closer. "So, my mare in shining armor, you've bested this dragon with love and confidence. All this dragon wants to know is-" She reaches into her cleavage to pull out two sterling silver rings. "-Can I be the princess you came to rescue as well?"
Horace parked the carriage on the side of the palace, then gave the unicorn a farewell petting before heading inside. He had arrived at his cousin's room just as she and Auntie finished talking. He had heard his aunt not wanting to get Rachel to get hurt, and leaned his head in. "Auntie, Cousin Rachel, the carriage is here..."
-
Elizabeth had quietly excused herself from the room minuets before Riku asked to be dismissed. she had a few things she needed to take care of. she slipped off and outside. she loved it out in the gardens. it was always full of quiet brimming energy. she passed her hand over some of the wilting flowers, the moon blooms were brilliant...
-
where did everyone goo... :( -pouts- )
-
(You know on my end. :P Are you sore too?)
Escanda looked up. "You're leaving already?"
Rachel nodded sadly. "We need to get there as soon as possible." She put her armor on quickly, motioning Horace in. Escanda reached into her bag, pulling out a small, cloth wrapped package.
"Take this. You'll know what to do with it. Just, please, all of you stay safe. I don't think I could live without you." She pulled Horace and Rachel into a hug, kissing their foreheads and fighting tears. "Please tell Elistra I meant her too."
Rachel hugged her back. "We will. I promise."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marcina blanched for a moment, happily shocked before finally finding her mind. She grabbed Elistra's collar and kissed her roughly.*= When she set her down, she smirked. "There's your answer baby girl."
-
(yes well not really... my back hurts cuz u crushed me whith that hay bail against the elevator... :P )
Elizabeth hears a rustle in the gardens and quickly scrambles back inside. it sounded too much like her sister's movements to be comfortable. she slipped back inside and ended up sprawling herself on the floor and could not help but laugh. she tripped on a small turtle. "oh you poor dear, i really did not hurt you did i?" she scops up the little turtle, now hiding in its shell. "I am really sorry... lets get you back out into the pond. how did you get in here in the first place?" The turtle peaked its head out of its shell and snapped at Elizabeth as she walked back outside with it. "you should stay where you are safe little one."
~~~~~~~~~
Scarlet could not believe that her sister fell for the turtle rutiene... well she was an annoying tree hugger... her and all of her hoity toity lifemagic... she chuckled at her comment about staying where it was safe and jumped out of the tree and clamped a paw over her sisters muzzle. "Now.. you should have listened to your on advice sister." she felt a small energy drain but it was not nearly as bad if she would not have had all of her gear on. Elizabeth started to struggle more after relizing her automatic defence was not working. "ah.. i came prepaired, now you will come back with me so Lucinda can devour your soul."
(well now would be a prime time for someone to show up... Elizabeth can not fight hand to hand.... :P )
-
Elistra sputtered for a few seconds, then lost her balance and draped herself over Marcina's body. She made sure to keep a hold on the rings as she tried her hardest to regain her balance. "I was going to consider the tavern for celebrating this occasion, but I can't even walk on my own two legs now. Curse you and your beauty..."
Horace returned the hug, though he did not cry since he was not raised in the castle. He simply gave her a platonic nuzzle, then his eyes went wide as he remembered something. "Auntie, Elistra brought the rings... do you know where she went, or more importantly, where Marcina went?"
-
*riku started quickly packing up his things ready to leave, deciding to take the long way back. he calmly pup his things next to the door and left the inn heading back to the castle. once ariving he turned, rather than going back to the greetig hall he was heading around to look at the gardens, not knowing what he would find.
as he entered one of the gardens he spoted one of the girls from earlier, seamingly being held captive for the moment. silently walking over, small cross in hand, he came up behind the two* ahem, hate to interupt, but letting her go could be the wisest move you ever make.
-
Elistra stopped admiring Marcina's strength and figure when Riku arrived, and turned to him only to fall to her knees. "I don't know what image you're conjuring up, but if you're thinking to "rescue" me from my beloved, I will castrate you on the spot..." She readied her bow and aimed right for his groin, not knowing that he was at the castle earlier.
-
oh, i'm sorry, i did not recignise you and your companion fully. *he bowed slightly while blushing, pulling a chunkk of bread from his sleve as he straightened* i'll leave you to it, please pardon my interuption. *he walked off quicker than normal while eating the bread*
*after a little bit more walking around the gardens riku found himself in a simular situation again, this time face to face with Elizabeth from before. he didn't know the other face and realizing something was wrong from the hand keeping elizabeth quiet* um....am i interupting something?......
-
Scarlet smiled. "on no you wernt. im just trying to talk with my sister here.. though she is being quiet mute. " She yelps when elizabeth sinks her teeth into scarlet's hand. "you little bitch..." scarlet smacks elizabeth. and growls.
~~~~~~~
elizabeth looks pleadingly at riku before sinking her teeth into scarlets hand. it stunned her when she was slapped. "Run RIKU! she works for Lucinda!" Scarlet took another swing at her so she scrambled further off and quickly searched for scarlets aura and energy. as soon as she found it she began to drain the energy.
-
*riku ignored elizabeth, instead moving between her and scrlet with his chainlink gauntlets ready, the small cross in one fist and a small chinese fan in the other* you're stupid to think i would run. not when i'm still hungry. *he smirked at scrlet* you want her, you get through me.
-
Scarlet smiles. and ignores her sisters attempts to weaken her. "oooo fighting... fun fun.. though i have to say.. i should get going. i just needed to let my darling sister know she isnt safe walking around alone at night..bad things tend to happen." she laughs as a hoard of shadows appears and Scarlet dissapears into them. they wink out as soon as she is out of sight.
~~~~~~
Elizabeth glances at Riku pleadingly. "please dont tell anyone about her.... shes my problem to deal with... i dont want anyone else to get hurt or killed because of crap i have done in the past.."
-
Elistra sputtered for a few seconds, then lost her balance and draped herself over Marcina's body. She made sure to keep a hold on the rings as she tried her hardest to regain her balance. "I was going to consider the tavern for celebrating this occasion, but I can't even walk on my own two legs now. Curse you and your beauty..."
Horace returned the hug, though he did not cry since he was not raised in the castle. He simply gave her a platonic nuzzle, then his eyes went wide as he remembered something. "Auntie, Elistra brought the rings... do you know where she went, or more importantly, where Marcina went?"
Marcina picked Elistra up bridal style, twirling her around. "Oh, what fun would it be not to mess with you a bit?" She grinned mischievously, spinning her around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Escanda loosened her grip on the two, handing Rachel the package. "I'm not sure dear. You know how those two can be." She smiled. It was so nice to know they had each other...
-
Elistra tucked her head under Marcina's as she was spun around. "Marci!" she cried out "I shouldn't be this dizzy before I start drinking!!" she started laughing as she closed her eyes. She was absolutely sure that if she tried to see what was around her, she would pass out trying to reorient her vision back to normal.
Horace growled in annoyance as he left the room and went downstairs. He first thought to look in the tavern, then thought better as he recalled Marcina being the type to tease her beloved, and would probably take her somewhere "secluded" to bring out the maiden in the draconian archer.
That same thought also brought a mild blush to Horace's face, and he started slapping himself in an attempt to purge such unclean thoughts.
-
*riku stood his ground till scarlet was gone, only then turning to elizabeth* it's ok, i understand. we all heve our demons of the past, some just more than others. *he calmly offered her a hand, the chains covering his hands slowly 'crawling' back into his sleave, looking more like metalic worms* if you need help to kill her, i'd be glad to help if you ask, as long as you grant me the same service, i fear you may be usefull against my demons and i against yours.
-
elizabeth shyly took his hand an nodded. "it.. well that wold be nice but i would like to try to reslove this with out too much death... Our family has pratically killed its self off over generations... " elizabeth looked down in awe of the metal crawling off of his skin. "how.. well if you dont mind me asking.. how do you do that?"
-
*riku looked down at his arm then pulled back his sleave, showing elizabeth the chains melded to his forearms* a gift, cures, magic, whatever you'd like to call it. i'm a member of the guild of sevin sins. small in noumbers but all seven of us could be worth over a houndred men in batle when fully trained. a better exzmple may be this, have you ever heard of any of these people? the dream slayer, the woman who one war with a glance, the turncloak, goldmonger, sir arrowhail, the blood prince of rings? have you heard their names told in the tales of warrior and singer alike?
-
Elizabeth shakes her head. "no.. i honestly cant say i have.... "
-
well they are what the people have named the others of my guild, i'd rather not mention what they call me. *he smiled again and turned to the entrance* are you coming inside, i beleave we are to leave soon.. <i wonder if she has heard of me, but i dare not let any of them know who i am till it's neccissary. after all, who would think i'm the demon canibal knight>
(text in the < and > symbols is thoughts inside his head)
-
"oh yes.. i nearly forgot about leaving. " she walks in after riku. well.. this is going to be great... i really dont know how to say thank you becides actually talking to him.. this is already way out of my comfort zone.....
-
Elistra tucked her head under Marcina's as she was spun around.
Marcina laughed and started in the direction of the carriages. "We'll have to wait on our normal plans. Your broter can be a stickler for times." She nuzzled Elistra, carrying her like a feather.

Horace went back to his carriage, noticing that it was already supplied while he was gone. He brought the carriage around to the main entrance just as Marcina carried Elistra through the opposite pathway. He saw the look on her face and couldn't help but chuckle as she waved at him.
When Marcina reached the cart and set Elistra on the driver seat next to Horace, the dragoness started humming a song that was similar to those that Horace heard during the few weddings she attended with Horace. "So the happy couple finally wants to get married." he casually declared, then glanced at Marcina. "How much teasing did it take for her to bring out the rings?"

*riku walked out to where the carriage was just before elizabeth, walking over to the side of it he poiltely opened the door and held it open for her while looking at the others* is this everyone?
-
Elizabeth is standing a bit a ways off looking at the group. she had a few scrapes on her face but other than that was just finger combing her tail again. i really hope this is for everyone.. i do need to get out of here as soon as i can.....
-
Rachel and Escanda walked slowly toward the door in silence. Rachel was trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach. She'd never been away from home for an extended period. This would be very new to her. Fear pounded through her, causing physical pain in her fingers and toes from the addrenaline. 'Breathe. You'll be fine. BREATHE.'
Escanda was panicked, thinking of all the ways she could lose her baby girl. She glanced at Rachel, tail quivering slightly. "Remember, if anything goes wrong and you need to come back, you are always welcome to come back," she said, hugging Rachel one more time.
Rachel smiled lightly. "I know. We'll keep in touch. I promise." They reached the door as Rachel finished, her pack settled over her shoulder. Rachel and Marcina alighted on the back, happier to be in the air than the carriage. Escanda waved.
"Take care my friends."

When the others entered the carriage, there was little room to move through with all of the supplies. However that changed when the unicorn re-appeared at the front of the carriage. The inside changed from a single hallway to a rather large and circular room with cabinets holding the food supplies and extra supplies on the fringes of the room. He gestured to Elistra, who went inside the carriage and sat at one of the chairs in the center of the room, waiting for everyone else to come in before speaking...
-
*riku waited at the door for everyone, plannig to ride alogside the carge rather than in it for most of the traveling. he looked up towards horace and smiled* i never thought i'd meet oe of your kind, i had kind of hoped i would't. just please give me no reason to dislike you, i am already going agaist the laws of my guild serving the queen and now by traveling with you. and it would be a shame if old instinkt kicked in during the night.

Horace couldn't help but be amused at the statement. "At least people understand where you get your powers from... most of the previous generation still thinks that I'm crazy for believing that there is more than one deity out there. They also think I'm some warlock that is trying to convince their children to leave for my mansion in some old-age sacrificial ritual. Of course, that last part could just be the old woman that yelled at me for giving her children some of my bread. Anyway I digress, I'm glad one of the "dark arts" could accompany us on this journey."
-
*riku smiled happily* people thk they know where the seven get their power, they all thik it's magic and satanic rituals. but the trueth is the closest thing to anythin satanic they do is melting chains to your forearms and branding you with one of the seven marks. the est then just comes as the days of pain roll along.
but in a way the two of us together here could be the end of this group if we ran into the other six. granted they'd only be after you because our guild laws state that we're suposed to kill your kind, never understood why though. and me for not enforcing that law, and knowig them they'd attack the others just for the fun of it.
-
Elizabeth had clambered in and sat nearest to one of the windows. she really did not like being cooped up in carrages or buildings.. but for right now.. with her sister on the loose.. this would be the safest place for her.
-
(...I am thoroughly confused with the way the carriage is made. Is it a direct result of your magic, like bigger on the inside than the outside?)
Rachel and Marcina glanced hesitantly at each other, more comfortable sitting on the outer seat most carriages had.
-
(Yes, it can even be a 2-story house when parked. Horace made the cart and its' enchantments in his spare time.)
"Want me to have Horace open up a spare room? I'm a little nervous about doing this in front of anyone else..." She said as her tail swished from side to side.
Horace shrugged his shoulders. "I have literally no history on this struggle beyond what goes on in old tomes. They never say how it started... or why it was such a great offense that any living Diviner must suffer their wrath." Elistra poked her head through the flaps, and tapped Horace's shoulder.
"Hey, can the rooms be opened yet? I want some alone time with my beloved." Horace did his best to not show interest, though his slight blush would give it away.
"Huh? Oh of course!" He traced his claw on a carved square next to him, and anyone in the cart could see wooden doors appearing on the canvas of the inside. "The kitchen will be ready in an hour or so... dinner an hour after that. Try to not get too far along before dinner is ready, alright?"
"S-Shut it, Dad!" Elistra said as she went back into the carriage.
-
oh well. if i live through my next encounter with either of my two eldest brothers i'll make sure to ask. one's a horder who loves knowlege and gold and the other is said to have slept through the last 8 generations and know's more than any normal man should about history. my younger brother thinks he's the first or his title and just never died, he also claims that if we can restrain from getting killed we can all live for eternity....
i wonder if he said the same thing to my predicesor before killing him and his soon to be wife so brutaly. *riku calmly shruged and climbed into the carriage, planing to jump out when they got closer to the inn he had been at*
-
Ah. Thanks. :) )
Marcina scooped her up like a feather. "Point the way, beautiful." She grinned lightly, teasingly bouncing Elistra.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rachel stayed some away from the group, moving to an empty area. She waved sadly to her mother, who waved back.
This would be a long trip.
-
Elistra pointed at one of the doors that had 'Bed' written on it. "There is also a lock on the other side of the door, though how he gets that feature to work in a canvas cart is beyond my ability to know." She wrapped her arms around Marcina's shoulders and lifted her head to the mare's ear. "Just to sate your curiosity: I've never gone past kissing, so please don't be too rough on me, my love."
Horace kept the cart going as he turned back and opened the flap. "In case anyone didn't realize yet, unless you left something at the inn or tavern you 'planned' on staying at, this cart is going to keep moving until it's time to make dinner, or breakfast."
Elizabeth went over to the empiter ariea as well and just staired out the window. she thought she saw someone jumping from tree to tree out there.
~~~~~
scarlet snarled as she saw elizabeth get into the carrage. she didnt think her clastrophopic sister would put herself in that small of a carrage with so many more people. she could not help but laugh. it was only a matter of time before she flipped out and came darting out of it. she would just have to follow the carrage until that happened. and that is what she did, hopping from tree to tree.

*riku smiles at horace's warning* i figured as much, lucky i accounted for it. *as his stop came up riku lept out, rolling as hhe hit the dirt before getting up and dusting himself off. it only took him a few seconds to reach his horse, jumping int the saddle which had been put on as he'd asked. riding hard to meet the others before they made it out of he city*
