I've was looking through the webs, and then I saw this:

Then I thought, why don't we organise and have a public relations sector?

There was a time when Tweak and I offered to give a portion of the forum donations to a charity cause as long as they reached a certain amount (like, at least $100 or whatever). The response to that proposal was a little less than enthusiastic. I think we got to donate once, then we didn't reach the goal amount for a while, and then a long while later there were immediate forum costs that needed to be paid for using whatever donation money we had. So the charity idea ended up getting scrapped somewhere along that line.
I'd have to talk to Tweak about it, so I can't say for sure, but we probably are capable of doing something like that again if people are more interested now. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking, but I thought I'd put it out there. :P

lol it's close but not quite :P
I'm saying we get out there and do something.
Me being a demon at psychology (lie), I understand that I would rather go and get other people's money than spend my own.
Also it's fun.
Perhaps it's not a great idea doing it on a global forum where it's harder to organise such events, but you gotta start somewhere. :P

I think MrRazot's on to something.
We don't need simple donations, we need an actual fun-raising event. We could hold a gaming tournament with a prize, something like that.
Qubetubers managed to raise over $5,000 to Child's play by a simple gaming fun-raiser event

a massive online competition held by the furry comunity, open to the world, proceedings go to various charities?
that's not a bad idea...

Things we need to worry about.
Advertisement: How do we get people to play, we would need everyone on this forum to tell all there friends and get there friends to tell all their friends, etc.
incentive: Besides "for charity" we would need to give a reason for people to donate
Organization: If it's a big event, it requires some serious organization and pull through
Those are the three main things IMO :3

i would think the biggest worry is connectivity/servers.
offer a prize for the winner but do not specify
we would need terms and conditions >:3
however, if we organised sponsors then it will be massive and these things would not be a problem.
last issue is what would the game be?
possibly 3 divisions
fps, rts and rpg?

Mmm... I'm a killer beast at wh40k spacemarine as in terms of a game- suk at everything else:p. but I agree 7 fold that a charity event would be great- heck, maybe we could get a good name out there furries, eh? Or I could just be talkin to myself and not listening...

that's the idea :D
Worldwide LAN in the name of furries for charity
