Title: writing a novel and am in need of harsh criticism X3

I'm writing a novel called The Unknown and would like some feedback about the first chapter so i know if i should keep writing or just give up.

I am an author myself and more than willing to edit a chapter or two if asked... though can I ask you to PM or post it here? I'm having difficulties getting it from that site.
