Dark clouds covered the sky, filtering the sunlight. Thunder boomed in the distance, lightning flashing among the clouds. In the nearby mountains, a temple stood, carefully constructed over a hundred years before. No roads passed through the trees, only a lonely footpath.
A small tiger girl appeared through the trees, a backpack of nessessary items slung across her shoulders. Humidity made her fur cling to her in spite of the temperature. She smiled, looking up at the arch. "Finally. I'm here. I hope they still have the spot open for work..."
At a window, high on the wall, a lynx watched her, face blank. She flitted away from the curtain before the tiger could see her.

[Idk, Im just gunna enter anyway X3 ]
*As the tiger girl continues up the path, she is stopped by a bewildered looking wolgon with dark grey fur and seemingly glowing slashes and splotches of teal on him. He sees her and approaches her as non menicingly as he could* "Uhh, excuse me ma'am, but I seem to be lost. Very lost. Could you please direct me to the nearest town or settlement. Anywhere really. I've been wandering for three days and I've no Idea where I am. These forest are... massive!" *His voice sounds half crazed, like he actually had spent 3 days alone lost in the forrest. The tiger notices that while he speaks, his clawed right foot keeps digging anxiously int he ground for no apparent reason.*

The young girl smiled warmly. "Just follow that footpath. It'll take a day or two to reach the road though. Maybe you could stay here at the temple until you're ready to leave. Master Xing might not mind." She shifted her pack again, uncomfortable with how it sat. She dared not touch him for fear of him lashing out, but it would be nice to get to know him.

*The Wolgon calms down alittle bit* "Thank you. I think I will take you up on that offer. Where is this temple?"

Naer sits at the entrance to the temple, looking out at the road that he had flown over. I can't have been the only one to have shown up early. I know Bosco said the trek by foot would take days, but this is just a little ridiculous in my opinion... He started fletching more arrows, wanting to make sure he has enough to defend himself with in the off-chance of a possible invasion.

She motioned to the gate. "A short trek up the path. Would you like to join me?"

Elizabeth lays in one of the trees near the temple watching the dragon near the entrance. she starts to sing a tune, it blends with the birds. it seams to be a rather familiar tune, a sad but then again uplifting at the same time. she sings a smile on her face and yelps when she falls out of the tree. "God drat it! i hate it when this crap happens." she scowls up at the branch she was sitting on and tries to get back up to her perch, her tail swishing violently.

"Okay then. Lets be off." *We travel up to the temple. Before I notice the dragon at the entrance, I ask The tiger* "Hey, I never did catch your name. I'm Shadis."

After a few more failed attempts to regain her pearch she kicks the tree and contiusly glares at it. She has her arms crossed over her chest and her long skirt has a few tears in it. Er shirt has a few smudges in it as well. Few peices of stray grass and twigs liter her hair. She sighs after a few min then sits at the base, picking the twigs from her hair.

She smiled at the Wolgan. "Danny. Pleased to meet you." She waved politely to the dragon.

"A pleasure to meet you Danny-" *Shadis then sees the very imposing and intimidating dragon* "Oh, uhh, heh- hello their Sir."

Elizabeth then notices the others comming and slips behind the tree and watches them go up to the dragon.

*Shadis smells a presence in the air, but is too warly of the dragon to give it any heed.*

Naer rolled his eyes, putting his arrow and bow away. He started walking into the temple, not really wanting them to get any closer to him. "You lot are almost a day late... and I have half a mind to at least wound you with an arrow before you go inside. Do not worry about dying though, I was forbidden from taking lives while staying here."

*Shadis looks confused, his waryness of the dragon rapidly leaving him and being replaced with irritation. Irritation at an entitiy he shouldn't try to anger* "The hell are you talking about? I've been lost in the woods for three days, and that storm prevented any flight out. And what ever happened to hello?"

Haha yes im going here ARROW TO THE KNEE!!!!!!!!) Elizabeth peaked around the other side of te tree wondering why the dragon was so mad that they were a day late.. she didn't think that this was so important that a strict deadline was set.

Danny rolled her eyes. "Come on, Master Xing condemns unnecessary violence. We should get inside." She smiled and padded past them, humming.

*The Wolgon gets a semi-worried expression over his face.* "Why do I get the feeling that this was planned..." *He cautiously follows them inside.*

Danny laughed lightly. "Knowing my uncle, it was. I swear he's psychic. Or something like that." She twirled in the doorway and sighed. "I remember coming here to train with him. It was so much fun."

*Shadis gives Danny a puzzled but slightly worried look* "Train? Train in what?"

Elizabeth follows them in.

Danny twirled around to look at them. "Fighting, medicine, you know, the works. He'll only teach you if you're absolutely commited though." Her paws seemed to glide over the floor as quiet as they were. 'Just remember Danny. Give him the letter, be respectful, and don't mention Papa.'

Elizabeth smiles and speeks up "that will be nice. i... i did not catch your name.. i am Elizabeth. Nice to make your aquantince."

Naer warmed each spot where his foot landed, almost to the point where steam was coming off of the patches. When he reached the main hall, his wings flexed a bit before contracting again. He had to fight the urge to fire arrows at the people behind him, constantly reminding himself that they are not hunting him like others have, at the cities he used to roam through.

*Cautiously eyes everyone* "Ummm, I'm just visiting. I'm not here to train, I don't even know where here is-" *Elizabeth speaks up. I jump in surprise and extend my dragon claws in a fighting stance* "Gahh! Who the hell are you?!"

Danny waved to Elizabeth. "Hi there. Name's Danny. Don't worry about training Shadis. It's only for those that can handle it." She smiled.
(XD I can't believe I said that.)

[Jerk face! XD ]
*Without thinking, Shadis swung his right claw at her, cutting her face and knocking her to the ground, bleeding. His eyes looked reptilian for a moment, but quickly flashed back as he realised what he had done.* "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you ok?!" *He moves to help her*

She sat sprawled on the ground, surprised. A hand touched the cuts, blood staining her white fur red. "Wow..." Danny laughed abruptly. "You're a pretty good hit. Master Xing'll love you." Bewildered looks crossed many of their faces. Laughter at an attack was hardly normal... They hoped.

*retracting his claws so that he wouldn't accedentally harm anyone, Shadis helped Danny up* "Im so sorry. Its the dragon blood in me. It makes me do wild and crazy things some times. See?" *I move some fur back on my chest, revieling some deep scars benieth the fur, clearly self induced.*

Elizabeth smiles and starts whistling. "It is quite beautiful in here. Speedy recovery miss Danny." She bows slightly never taking her eyes of the ceiling.

Naer stopped when he heard Shadis explain his anger issues. "Half-breed, your anger comes from a lack of discipline, not your blood. If you wish to further debase your draconic heritage, you would do well to keep it in your mind. However, I would not mind putting you in your place if this happens again."

*Shadis looks blankly at Chrono.* "I have no anger issues. My dragon blood and my wolf blood doesn't coexist naturally and so it causes unpredictable behavoirs at times. I've have it investigated by 12 different doctors over the years. I'm not debaseing dragons, I like dragons. I was simply stating a fact. Plus, I wasn't even speaking to you in the first place."

Danny smiled. "Dragons are really neat. What do you say we go talk to my uncle though? Maybe he could give you a place to stay for the night."

*Claming down* "I suppose so. I do owe you for clawing your face. Who is your uncle?"

"Master Xing." She twirled in the hall, humming. "It's so much fun around him."

*I casually follow* "Master Xing aye? You guys were talking about him. Tell me about him. He must be importaint to be called a Master."

"Well, he's one of the best trainers in the region. I heard he trained Lucinda before she died. Smart too. He's a really nice guy. I'm sure he'll be fine with you staying here."

[hahahaha, Lucinda! XD ]
"Hey, I've heard of her? Isn't she that powerful witch who tricked and cursed the ledgendary Zack Vann, before he hilled her in combat?"

"I think so. I hear she's till around."

"Yikes! I'd sure hate to meet her! What a powerful Wraith she must have become! :S Anyway, where is this MAster Xing of yours?"

She smiled. "Likely the middle temple. Follow me." She continued down the hallway, paws tapping near silently on the tiles. Red and blue and green designs speckled the walls, pictures of nature and the elements set in with care. Drapes covered most windows. Lanterns lit the halls beautifully in their place.
The temple ahead showed the same designs, pillows littering the floor all the way to the walls. Hardly a single spot wasn't cushioned.

Step by step, Luna was looking around outside of the temple as if she were observing the whole perimeter of the area. As she got to the top she turned her head and looked at the bottom and the surroundings, taking in the beauty of it all. She touched the temple to feel the material before moving on in, she looked up and around seeing the beauty of it all.
She heard voices and noticed hot footprints, she wasn't too certain about all of this. She wasn't used to working with people. She looked around once more before walking toward the voices.

*Eventually, the group gets to the center temple.*

Naer stops again, but this time draws his bow and slings up an arrow. He aimed past the group and focused his gaze on the last person going through the hall. "You have a minute to explain your appearance, or I shall make you my warm-up practice for today." He yelled, the air around him starting to waver as he warmed his muscles up for a fight.

Luna's eyes gazed quickly to the potential danger, she stopped and kept her distance, looking at the holder of the weapon in the eye with calm relaxing yellow hues. "I pose no threat to you, in fact, I think I am supposed to be meeting up with you..strangers." She put one paw up, "I wouldn't have appeared in front of you like this if I was to any danger of you."

Danny stepped between the two, the tile floor and walls reflecting each member of the group like a distorted mirror. "Naer, that's enough. Master Xing doesn't take kindly to those that fight for no other reason than to fight. Put it down now." She didn't wait for his answer before turning to the person he'd aimed at. "It's good to meet you. Can I ask your name?"

Elizbeth bumps into shadis and falls back on to the floor. "Ow...you ok sir?" She looks up at him concerned that she will be yelled at for doing something like that.

*Shadis looks confused at Elizbeth, then helps her up.* "I'm fine... you bumped into me. Hey, you never said who you are or what your doing here."

Elizabeth is tremelbeling slightly "ah.. um my-my name is E-elizabeth. I-I came for the.. the training." She studders out shyly.

*Seeing that she was nervous, Shadis smiles, which calms Elizabeth.* "A lovely name. I am Shadis. Not so pretty sounding, but it works I suppose. I am only stopping by. I know nothing about this training. Heck, I was lost in the forrest for three days, and stumbled upon this place by chance. I'm so mixed up I'll stay anywhere." *I chuckle*

Elizabeth wrings her hands nervously, and smiles "it is a nice name.. I heard Master.. x-xing is a good teacher. Glad you did n-not get eaten by the animals here. They c-can be quite vicious."

"Oh they don't bother me, for you see, I am a wat-" *I quickly stop myself, and try to turn the word water into Wolgon* "Wolgon, and can fly away from them."

Naer put his weapon away, though his aura of heat still remained. "I was not going to fight for the sake of fighting. If she was an intruder, I would wound her for trying to take something or someone from the temple." He balanced an arrow in his palm, then spun it about when it tipped too far in any direction.

*Trying to break the tension* "Well then, I believe your master is waiting to see us?"

An older cheetah walks in through another doorway, dressed in a plain black and white outfit. "You are here. Pleased to meet all of you."

*Trying to look polite* "Oh, hello Sir. Are you the Master Xing I've heard so much about?"

Elizabeth smiles then respectfully bows. "I-It is nice to finally m-meat you sir."

He nodded. "Yes. Are you Shadis, Naer, Cassandra, Leiton, and Luna?"

*Shadis looks taken aback* "Uhhh, yes... I am. How did you know my name?"

Naer nodded, and gave Xing a slight bow. "I am Naer, and I assume you were the one that informed one of my... contacts, that I had to report here for a job..."

"Yes, I am Luna." She introduced herself, staying a little quiet through both shyness and to gather information about the crowd. She looked at everyone and gathered that they were all good people, she noted a couple that may look harsh and fierce but duly noted that they were actually nice. She bowed her head at them.

"No sir. I am Elizabeth. " she bows slightly. "I am sorry for the confusion." Her face turns red. "Everyone calls me Cassaandra... "

"Ah. Quite sorry for the confusion Elizabeth," he said, looking around at all of them. "I've heard quite a bit about all of you, whether from my own studies or others' is up to you to figure out. I am pleased to have all of you here. Do follow me and I shall show you to your rooms and my other student." Master Xing walked down a nearby hallway. He was very tall, nearing six and a half feet. He carried himself well, an imposing figure in a crowd. Danny hurried up to him.
"Master Xing?" she said. Next to each other, it was easy to see Danny shared some of his build. Both were strong and lithe, well trained in one art or another. She was still dwarfed by him though. Craning her head to see him, she looked questioningly at him.
"Don't think I've forgotten you. You're as welcome to stay as they are," he purred, smiling at her.

*I follow with a worried expression* /How the hell did he know my name?/ *I said to myself*

Elizabeth smiled and went back to looking around. She loved how everything looked. It was so beautifully decorated and she did not fail to notice Danny's rezemblance to Master Xing. /mmm odd.. must be related./ she thought to er self. While she was looking around she was infact listening to the on going conversations. Well not techinal conversations, just the air moving around. It was quite soothing to her.

The hall was much longer than the one from before. The rooms sat far back, in the rock around them. Master Xing stopped. "I'd like to introduce you to my current student. Sheila." A lynx, pretty by most standards, stepped out. She looked at them appraisingly, unimpressed.
(Okay, for those that haven't, EVERYONE MUST HAVE AN ALTERNATE ROLEPLAYER. IF YOU DON'T WITHIN A DAY, YOU ARE BOOTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.)

*Shadis sees the Lynx* "Hello Ma'am. I am Shadis. Pleased to meet you."

"The pleasure is mine." She smiled, either impressed or bored. Probably both.

*Trying to make casual conversation* "So Miss Sheila, tell me about this place. From what I've been hearing within the last 20 minutes, it is a recluse temple where various skills are tought?"

Elizabeth is trying not to laugh.. "yes.. please tell us some more so we can fill our heads with things that don't pretain to. Our spific elements." She smiles as she is till looking up. Elizabeth does not like her at all.

*Kastor's face is suddenly stricken with alarm, but quickly makes himself look confused, as a ruse. He cast Kaya a backwards glance* "Elements? What are you talking about?"

Elizabeth blushes and looks down advoiding everyones eyes "I'm sorry.. I I didn't relize I was talking outloud.."

Sheila laughed. "Oh, Master Xing teaches us what we need and we teach each other the rest." She smirked and held her held her head high. "I am taught in the magic of the life."
Master Xing motioned them forward. "Your rooms are ready."

Naer smirked, tossing an arrow towards her and making it burst into flames before it hit the floor harmlessly and turned to ash. "Have fun growing a tree from those ashes..." He walked with Master Xing, believing that he did not harm her in any way shape or form.

*If Shadis looked nervous before, it was nothing compaired to how he looked now.* "Okay, comeing here was a definate mistake! I know trouble when I see it. I'm out!" *He turns and goes to leave.*
[You can let Shadis leave if you want, but bear in mind that if the wrong croud finds him, he can EASILY be turned into an enemy.]

"Wait please.. " elizabeth smiles looking down. "Please..."

Viola was just walking through the door when she crashed into Shadis.
"OW! Wha... Oh, hi there."
She got back up, rubbing her head.
"Who are you?"

"No deal. I am grateful for your kindness, but I'm not getting mixed up in matters too great for me!"

Master Xing turned to look at them. "You're welcome to stay the night Shadis. You may leave in the morning after breakfast."
(Haha. Appealing to the stomach. XD)

Violet looked behind the wolf into the room.
"Hi," she said. "Which one of you is Master Xing?"

*Shadis gripped his stomace as it rumbled.* "Ugh, fine. But I'm keeping my distance from any magic users."
[Side note. Shadis can be easily manipulated. Rememebr that one ;) ]

Master Xing smiled. "I'm Master Xing, Viola. It's good to see you've arrived," he said. "You're welcome to do as you wish Shadis. Your room is here on the left. Everyone will have their own room in this hall." He quickly assigned rooms to each person. "I assume you are all hungry. Dinner is in order."

Violet smiled. "Sweet," she said. Picking herself up, she looked back the way she came. "Craf!I found them!"
An odd figure appeared next to Violet quite suddenly.
"I see," he said... and it was only his voice that proved his gender, for his face was hidden by a large black hood. "Well... he he... we'd best sit down, then."

*I warily travel to my room, keeping distance from Naer and the others.* "Thank you, Master Xing. I will rejoin the group shortly." *Once in my small room, I close and lock the door, and travel the the wash basin. To my pleasure, it is full of warm water. I wash my face and attempt to make myself look presentable. I then rasie my right paw over the water and light my fingers upward. The water then rasies up out of the basin in a steady stread. I lift all of the gallon of water or so and hold it in the air. I then proceed to whisk it about in the air, to and from. I seem to take great pleasure in the manipulation of the water. After a few minutes of playing with it, I wake out my water skin and fill it with the water. Tieing the skin to my side, I then exit the room and head back to the group.*

Several of the group were enjoying their rooms, cleaning and putting their things in the rooms. Danny had already rejoined Master Xing, talking with him happily. Her fur shown, still wet in areas. Without her pack to hide her, is was easy to see strong shoulders and powerful legs. Tear lines, identical to Master Xing's, mixed with her stripes. "Mama said you went on a trip lately. Where'd you go?"
He smiled. "The Veron Temple Danny. Perhaps I'll take you to meet a few friends there sometime. The world is beautiful."

"He he he... yeah, beautiful and deadly."
Craf walked into the room, his face still hidden by the hood.
"Sorry," he said in his extremely creepy voice. "I couldn't help but listen in... kind of a ...he he... bad habit of mine."
The hood turned to face Xing. "So I hear that you've trained some very... he he... interesting students. If you're the same guy, that is..."

*Shadis, now with a water skin at his side, approaches the group* "Hello their. I hope I'm not interupting anything."

Naer found his gaze lingering over Danny, and noticed he was looking at her for reasons beyond general distrust. He let out a snort and focused on the meal that was 'promised', somewhat bothered by his own change in attitude. "May we begin eating, or shall I go hunting for my meal?"

Master Xing laughed lightly. "Follow me. Meals are this way." He padded back toward the main room, turning to Craf. "I assume you've been there? You have seen the crystal halls and have a ship to get there?" he said, smiling. Danny padded nearby, humming. She turned to her companions.
"So, where do you all come from?" she purred.

Naer spoke up first, assuming that the rest of the group is either too distracted or too nervous to say where they journeyed from. "I come from the cities of steam, brass pipes, and dirigibles. It was there that I learned of my magical affinity for heat and cold, along with the ability to swiftly overcome obstacles..."

"Hm... yeah, you could... he he... say that," Craf said.
Viola walked behind them, just listening, for at the time, she did not have much to say.

*Shadis spoke up next* "I come from a nomadic tribe of Sea Nymphs. We build out houses out of drift wood and sea weed, on rafts. We travel the world's Oceans and Seas, going wherever the tide takes us. I eventually had to leave on my 8th birthday, because that was th eday my wings grew in. It was when my draconic heritige was discovered. My mother-" *I stop speaking as a tear forms at my eye and streaks down my face. I whipe it.* "I'm sorry. I, I'd rather not talk about that."

Danny nodded, still smiling. "That's alright. I wish I had a tale like all of yours to tell. I'm from Erie. I don't stay there often, but that's where I was born."

Violet finally spoke up.
"Well, I'm from a small coastal town..." she said. "Nice place. I met Craf there... although I still don't know where HE comes from..."
"Oh I'll tell you, Violet," Craf said. "But... he he... not yet."

*Straighting up his expression, Shadis spoke.* "Rrriight... Who are you?" *He is talking about Craf* "Also, where exactly is this food? I havn't had a cooked meal in days."

"I am Violet's friend," Craf said. "That's all you need to know... at least, it's all you need to know... he he... for now..."
"He doesn't talk about it much," Violet says. "Actually, that's... really all I know, right there. Oh, and he says he's traveled a lot before he met me...."

"Hmmm, well, I like him. His Creepy-ness amuses me." *I smile jokeingly, but in a manner that isn't meant as an insult.*

Craf nodded in approval.
"Thank you," he said.

Master Xing stopped at a door, covered in white fabric and blue studs. No nob looked visible. Danny spoke up.
"You fixed the door? Last time I was here, it was in two..." she mused, pushing it open. A sundeck, chairs and tables set about, stretched before them. Ivy wound up Greek columns. A serving area sat into the wall, no one visible behind it.
Outside, rain pelted the windows. The windows sat on the edge of a steep cliff, overlooking a valley for below. Storm clouds raged around them.
Master Xing smiled at her. "You'd be surprised what these old hands can do when they get bored," he said. He watched the rain, his expression darker, worried almost. "Go ahead and eat. You are free to choose what you want."
Elizabeth walked to the window, smiling. "Quite a storm..." she said. Whispering, she said, "If only I were a part of it..."

"Hmm. Nice," Craf said. "Much better than... he he... THAT place...."

*I calmly apporach Master Xing.* "Thank you Master Xing. Your kindness is impecable." *I meekly head to the table, pick up a plate of chicken, say a silent prayer, and begin eating. While I absent mindedly eat, I notice Elizabeth gazing longingly out the window.* "Whats the matter Ma'am? You look like your waiting for a long lost lover."

Naer approached the food, and when he picked up a slice of bread it immediately toasted as he heated it in his hand. He brought another loaf over to Elizabeth, as his tail was wrapped around an apple. "Would either of you like piece of bread? I can toast it for you if you like..."

Elizabeth smiled as she replied to Shadis "I am just not used to being indoors while such a wonderful storm is going on." She then saw Naer approaching and ask if she wanted some toasted bread. "I'm OK.. I don't normally eat all too much. Thank you for offering it to me though."

Master Xing left the room, more things to do then stay and watch new recruits. Danny knew the area. If they needed help, she and Sheila could guide them. Something was very wrong.
Danny picked up a gazelle sandwhich before walking toward Naer, Elizabeth, and Shadis. "After dinner, what do you say to a full tour of the temple?" she said. Her eyes shone. They would love the training areas and star deck...

To Elizabeth: "Oh, okay. Well this storm may last awhile, so you will get your chance to play in the rain, don't you worry."
To Naer: "Ummm, no thanks. I prefer... non-magically cooked food if you don't mind."
To Danny: "That sounds lovely Ma'am, thank you."
*During the course of this conversation, I randomly grab a metal pitcher of water and toss it onto the ground, spilling it all but not breaking it. I don't even seem to notice my random behavoir.*

Naer shrugged at the refusal and started biting into the loaf while gazing out of the temple. As the rain passed by the window, a strange yet harmless thought passed from his mind to his lips. He then looked at the water on the ground and froze it over for his own amusement. "Maybe I could make it snow once I become more versed in my magic."

Elizabeth looked at Naer. "You would be quite an oponent...you could most certinally kill someone easily by freezing the water in their body.. most frightening..." she frowns and says something to her self and smiles. "I just can't wait until I can make a strong breeze or even a tornado.. both most wonderous things they are." As an after thought she added, "mm snow would be beautiful.. "

*A frightened expression comes over Shadis's mind* "You- your ALL magic users?! I thought I was- I thought magic was extint!" *I quickly changed what I was saying and didn't bring up on it again*

Danny looked up at him from her sandwhich, leaning on a nearby table. "Of course they are silly. I can't do magic, but that's neither here nor there. Master Xing probably saw you guys coming. Or influenced you somehow. He has a knack for that," she said, taking another bite. "Master Xing has taught students with magic in the past too. It just doesn't always turn out well."

*Shadis looked confilicted for a moment, then resigned and sighed* "I swore I wouldn't tell anyone anymore..." *I turn my attention to the water pitcher that I had unknowingly thrown on the ground. I lift my right paw over the water pitcher and, by itself, the pitcher, which still had water residue in it, and the spilled water itself lifted up into the air and flowed over to the table. The pitcher landed lightly on the table and the water flowed into it, carefully as can be.* "I am a magic user too."

Elizabeth smiles "that is wonderful. no need to be ashamed." She looks longingly out the window then growls. "I should be out there getting te feel of everything., that's where I'm going to go." Se quickly stands and walks to the entrance.

*Shadis looked uneasily relieved.* "My whole life people have been trying to kill me for it. It's sort of habit to be ashamed I guess... I will come with you. i like to play in the rain too!" *I promptly march over to the open roofed garden area of the courtyard and stand in the rain with my arms outstrethed towards the sky, loveing it greatly ^_^ "

Danny watched them quietly. "Be careful." She finished her sandwhich, glancing around. "Naer, you said your name was? Would you like a tour? Everyone can join."

Naer visibly thought it over, then nodded and gave a slight bow to Danny. The patch of ice turned to steam and he resumed heating every spot his feet would step on, not too keen on walking across cold or wet floors.

"Oh, the tours are now? Very well. I will have to play later" *I bend the water off of my fur, making me compleatly dry again. I also keep the water from hitting my fur as i walk through the rain to join up with Naer and Danny.*

Elizabeth stands in the rain for a few more seconds and then sighs as she walks back in. "i am coming."

Danny motioned them through a door, hidden from view by those that did not know it was there. "Master Xing is a bit paranoid. Your actual quarters will be here if you decide to start training." Inside the door, blue spackled walls greeted them, branching in three ways. She motioned to the left. "My Uncle's quarters are down there, but I wouldn't suggest bothering him. To my knowledge, he has a friend with him. A monkey I believe. Kinda "
She walked to the middle hallway, whistling. Traps seemed to appear, wires and spikes and jets of various elements trying to attack. Danny grinned. "See you at the other side." She lept into the fray. Her boots tapped lightly on the spikes, laughing as she catapulted and flipped over the opsticals. With no excess clothing to catch, the things around her never slowed her, even the water that sirted her. flipped over the last spike, landing gracefully. Her shirt had ridden up, showing a small gear shaped belly button ring. Water soaked her, but she looked happy as a lark. "It's not that bad."

Naer knew that the grin was infectious, so he kept it at a smirk as he spread his wings and flapped them once so he could achieve lift. Once in the air, he heated the air under his wings to maintain altitude as he glided over the traps and used some acrobatic ability to avoid the wires in mid-air. He touched down just as a jet of fire came at him, and he simply walked through it as the flame parted around him. "No need to exert my entire body if my wings are enough..."

Elizabeth watches where danny places each of her feet and the timing. She looks a bit annoyed at the lack of effort on Naer's part. ''I need to watch and calculate the correct angles of launch....."

*Shadis stares blankly* "Uhhhh, yea, their is no way I can do that. I may be magical, but Im not a ninja. I have no special training or any training at all really! I will have to pass..."

Elizabeth winces "well here we go..." /just like a tree.. yu fall you are going to get hurt../ she crouches down then pounces and gets to the last part and slips. She ends up getting tangled in the hanging traps. It is kind of comical how she's hanging upsidedown a grimace on her face.
"Can someone get me down... please?"

Naer, already done with his part of the 'course', sees that it is the perfect time to taunt Shadis. "Come on water boy, don't get left behind because you couldn't get your tail out from between your legs! I'll cover you from the flame jets if it makes you feel any better!" He then pulled out his bow and aimed at the string holding Elizabeth up. "Tell me when you're ready for a hard landing."

"Taunts don't work on me, lizard." *I whisp my right paw as a jet of watch flies from my water skin, which opens the lid. The stream flies forwards and slices Elizabeth's rope, which sends her back to the ground with a gentle thud. The water then returns to me as I carefully return it back to my water skin.* "How's that Lizzy?" *Shadis didn't look any more willing then before to go, but it was semi apparent that he was about to try anyway. Also, he no longer liked Naer X3 *

Elizabeth narrowly missed a spike as she landed "I'm alive." She looked at her leg and quickly hid te gouges the trap made and stood favoring her right leg. "You can get through.."

Naer grinned, pulling the hood over his eyes so Shadis couldn't tell whether the smile was a mocking one or a friendly one. "Sometimes you don't get the safe option when it comes to trap-filled halls, so get used to doing things that seem crazy or incredibly dangerous." He then retracts his wings and puts his bow away. "Also, you could have gotten her away from the spikes as she fell so her injury would have been prevented."

Danny couldn't help but smile at their banter. "Shadis, it's not as bad it looks. I just like to show off a bit. You can go slow it you like." Looking back at her way across the hall, a little showing off probably didn't encompass it, but that was neither here nor there.

"Its nothing.. not to bad. Come on. I know you can get trough here.. " she sees something move out of the cornner of her eye and turns her head. "Oo wahts that?" She walks further down the hall and shows only a little bit of a limp, barily decernable to the untrained eye.

Craf looked over in the direction that Elizabeth had mentioned...
And gasped.
"LOOK OUT!" he yelled, starting to run through the obstacle course. He moved impossibly fast, seeming to miss all of the traps, then pushed Elizabeth down just as a giant bladed pendulum swung right through the spot she had been standing. However, the blade caught Craf's sleeve and appeared to cut him.
The feline got up carefully. "I'm fine, it only tore my sleeve," he said, quickly covering the tear.
Violet readied herself for her run through the course. "I'll be right there... just give me a minute..."

Elizabeth looks up stunned "what are you talking about there was no blade... are you ok? You did not eat any bad food recently that is making you halousinate, have you?" She gingerly stands up and dusts herself off.

"Huh?"
Craf looked at the "deadly blade" to see it had been no more than a vine, and that his sleeve remained untorn.
"Oh... sorry," he said. "Just... he he... thought it was something else... you know, the hallway's filled with traps, so you expect everything to be dangerous..."
Violet finally finished the obstacle course and ran over to Craf and Elizabeth.
"You okay, Liz?" she asked. "Sorry about that... he's apparently been through some experiences that make him a bit jumpy at times..."

:I'm fine but plese refrain frm tackling me again... my bones arnt very thick.. Danny you wouldent happen to have any bandages handy?" She can't hide her leg injury very well now because it has bled through er pant leg.

She walked over. "There's a ward right down the hall. I'll take you there. It's safe from here on out though. No blades or anything. My uncle would never endanger us like that. The spikes and that are to ward off intruders." She helped Elizabeth to her feet, surprisingly strong for her small stature. She glanced at the group. "I'll show you there, so if you get hurt you know where to go."

Violet nodded. "Alright. Lead the way."
Craf nodded as well.
"So this Master Xing has trained some students in the past, I hear," he said. "Wasn't one of them that evil b*tch who tortured Zack Vann?"

"Lucinda, yes. She was his best student at the time." Danny smiled. "Can't say I liked her, but she wasn't a bad fighter. Mostly mental though. Liked Sheila too."

"Yeah... she definitely was, wasn't she?"
Violet looked over at Craf. "She WAS? What do you mean by..."
"Nothing, nothing," Craf said quickly. "Just saying stuff..."
He looked back to Danny.
"So you're name's Danny, is it?" he asked.

Elizabeth leaned on the wall to gain her balance. "can we hurry this up please.. i don't mean to be a ..a convo crasher b.but.. " she sways and slides back down the wall a grimace on her face. " crap.. this is more serious than i thought.." she mummers to herself fighting the nausea that was starting.

Craf bends down and gently lifts Elizabeth into his arms.
"Don't worry, I've got you," he said. "And don't worry... I might seem a bit... he he... clumsy at times, but I'm normally quite stable."

Danny watched him, leading the way to a small room off the hallway. "Set her on the bed." She took down peroxide, gause, and various other ointments. "Once I sterilize the area, I need Naer to cauterize it. Think you can?" She looked up at him, serious all of a sudden.

Naer looked at Danny with an arched brow, then nodded. "It would be a minor stretch, but since the peroxide is alcohol based, I could cauterize by igniting it." He then held his hand over the site of the wound, and ignited the peroxide when she applies it. He only let it last long enough to cauterize the wound, then closed his hand to quench the flame. "Can you direct me to the meditation room? I assume that a temple of this size would have a room dedicated to concentration and self-reflection... something that is hard to come by in the city I live in."

*As the group converses and probably puts poor Elizabeth through alot of pain, Shadis quietly approaches from behind, eyes looking reptilian and crazed for a moment, before he blinks and reviels them to be normal again.* "I made it." *Not a scratch seems to be on him. Unseen behind them, the entire trap area was destroyed, every spike was ripped up and every blade and axe pulled out and stabbed into the wall. There was also large claw marks everywhere.*

Elizabeth glances at her now scabbed over leg.The mark from the wire wrapped all the way from her ankle to a little above her knee. It stuck out in stark contrast compared to her lighter fur and she glared at it. "now look what you did to your poor leg.." she said quietly to herself. "you have ought not be so flighty..."

"Don't say that," Craf whispered to the young mouse. "Yes, I heard you, my hearing's pretty... he he... sharp. You can be flighty... you just have to match it with a little patience."
Violet stared at the destroyed trap hall.
"Holy shite, dude," she said to Shadis. "I wouldn't want to be on YOUR bad side."

Elizabeth looked at Craf with a 'that was soposto be private' look and stands. She shifts her weight so only a little bit of pressure is taken off her bad leg. /ok.. now don't cheat yourself.. tough it out you stupid flighty moron.../ "thank you all for helping me... " she looks sheepish "i really didn't mean to cause such a fuss.."

"It's okay, Elizabeth," Craf said. "No harm done."
He gently takes her hand. "Don't worry. I'm right here if you ... he he... need someone to lean on."

"sorry. i am not one for the "pour out the feelings" thing... " Elizabeth withdraws her hand and steps back from the group.

*Shadis looks at Violet, confused* "What are you talking about? What bad side?"

Danny remained rather quiet, humming quietly as she put everything away. "The meditation room is down the hall actually. My Uncle and I tend to go there a lot," she said, finishing straightening the cupboard. "It's a bit girly, but that's from my mother. Master Xing let her do a lot of decorating. If he's there though, you may want to stay out of range when I tell him about the security system."

Violet looked at Shadis.
"Which is what I am basing my idea of your 'bad side' on," she said.
"Well... he he... neither am I, nowadays," Craf said. "I was just saying that if you needed help walking, you could lean on me for support."
He shrugged, his hood still hiding most of his face save his blue eyes.
"But I understand that perhaps the way I said it was a bit... he he... metaphorical."

*Shadis cocked his head in confusion* "Why, what happened to the Security system?"

Both Violet and Craf turned and looked at Shadis in surprise.
"You're... you... you seriously don't remember totaling it?" Violet asked.

*I cock my head confused* "Total it? Why would I wanna do that?"

"I don't know why," Craf said. "But you pretty much destroyed it."

"I dont rememebr breaking anything..." *MY voice trails off as I turn my head and see the destroyed security system* "Oh shite! I must have had one of my moments again! Crap..."

Naer eventually grew bored of their back and fourth banter, and went further down the hall towards the meditation chamber. He then set his bow on his legs as he sat down, closed his eyes, and looked down as if to contemplate on his own navel. In that state, he could feel his gift inside him, but he felt it was odd when the fire inside was 'staring' back at him.

Craf walks over and places an arm around Shadis's shoulders.
"Moments, eh?" he said, chuckling. "Well... why don't you tell me about these... he he... moments. I'd love to hear about it."

*Shadis seems too spaced out to even notice Craf's creepyness* "I am 2/3 Wolf and 1/3 Dragon. BUT Dragon and Wolf blood doesn't always mix very well. the result is varied, but for me, it means sometimes the unbalenced mixture in my blood gives me brief moments of unexplaned insanity. I do all sorts of crazy and sometimes dangerous things. Like this, apparently. Oh man... This must have taken a long time to build... and these people have shown me nothing but kindness... How do I even apologise??"

Craf shrugged.
"I suggest you apoligize sincerely." He chuckled. "You know ,you remand me of Z... never mind..."
Viola cocked her eyebrow. "Hold on, Craf... what are you..."
"I SAID NEVER MIND!" the cat said, chuckling awkwardly and pulling his hood down further.

(That's okay Wolf. :) As a note, my posts will be a bit slow. The septic is being screwy and my family is putting in new grey water piping. By hand. It's a lot less fun than it sounds, mostly cause I'm a stupid weakling idiot...)
"Yeah, it does. There's a reason I know the mechanics of this place in and out. It's not the first time things like that have happened. Usually, it's by intruders though. Now come on. There's a lot to see and very little time."
The meditation room was empty, blue mats here and there. Flowers grew in pots, trees beside them. Gardens and natural scenery were painted on the walls, and a large window sat facing over the cliff. Rain still pelted the window, thunder rolling and lightning flashing nearby.

Craf chuckled.
"He he... a thunderstorm," he said. "And a beautiful one at that... oh, they're just so amazing... especially when you get struck by lightning, it's like you're in control of the weather... he he..."

*Shadis frowned.* "Ok, you are my tour guide. I will compleat the tour and then I will try to fix or at least pay for the damages." *He then meekly followed Danny*

Hearing the reply, Craf chuckled again.
"He he... I know."

Danny smiled apprehensively. "I don't think that'd be a problem. Though, my uncle and I would appreciate no lightning parties." She continued down the hall, pointing to rooms as they passed them. Training rooms, bedrooms, guest areas, everything in a maze of corridors. She stopped in front of a large, oak double door. "The gardens are out here. We tend them carefully, so do be polite inside."
She opened the doors with hardly a touch, swinging into a glass room. Roses, crocuses, marigolds, every flower imaginable hung from the ceiling and walls and embelished the walks. Glass stepping stones lead through the garden, several acres wide and long, to areas of study and play and training. A small waterfall cascaded into a pool, flowing out of seemingly nowhere. Fruits and berries shown brightly throughout the room. Danny smiled. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

Craf looked around.
"Rather beautiful, indeed," he said.
"Right on, Craf," Violet said. "Right on."

Elizabeth looked around a smile on her face. /man this is beautiful/ she thought to herself. /the smells of the flowers mix beautifully and the sents are calming.. very good effect.../
quietly "this room is beautiful the smell is wonderful as well.. i see quite a lot of work went into making this place beautiful... is there any way for birds to get in and enjoy this as well?"

*Shadis looked quite engrossed in the beauty of the room, but focused most of all on the water features* "This place. This place is... is... undescribable! Im... speechless!"

Danny smiled motioning them to follow her down the path. "The birds have areas to get in and out here and there, yes. My Uncle and I love taking care of the flowers. It's so peaceful. My mother and father as well."

Violet looked over at Danny.
"They 'did'?" she asked. "What happened to them?"

Danny kept her face carefully pleasant, though it didn't quite... fit, in a way. "Nothing important."

*I place a paw on Craf's shoulder* "Just admire the beauty of this place and leave questions for another time." *I give him a friendly "leave her alone, she probably has secrets that are meant to be secret" look, and then return to admiring the water fountain, seeing all fo the various, colorful fish swimming about it* "Why I dont think I've ever seen such wonders!"

Danny led them down a side path, paved in blue glass. "There's a better view over here. The fish are from the amazon. No pirahnas though." She laughed lightly. "All plant eaters."

"I see," Viola said, peering into the pond. "They're still pretty, though..."
"Yeah," Craf said. "Fish are always fun to watch; they're so... he he... calming."

Naer imagined his hands cupping the flame, and holding it closer. The moment his hands made contact, he felt a sudden warmth that should have burned, yet did not. His mind was soon filled with a premonition of sorts. He could see himself ruling the cities that normally shunned his existence. A crown of fire floated over his uncovered head, and his throne was crafted from solid ice. He held himself with a royal air as former enemies were dragged forward for their deserved punishment and/or execution. The vision abruptly stopped before the punishment as the flame reappeared before his mind's eye.
Without a word being said, Naer knew this is what the flame had to offer, but snapped out of his trance before he could make a decision. The gift he wielded was now coursing through his veins with renewed warmth. It took all of his remaining willpower to not let the flame loose, to feel the fire lick across his scales.
Then the heat faded back to its previous state, but Naer now knew how powerful he could become, and it would be a lie to say it didn't feel so good.

Elizabeth starts to whistle to herself and again looks around "when do we start training if you dont mind me asking danny..."

"Yeah," Violet said. "I'd love to know too."

She smiled. "As soon as I find Master Xing in this maze. We'd probably be meeting Naer in the Meditation Room." Danny jumped easily to the top of a rock spire her height. "If you want, I could show you a few things my father-"
"Danny, I'd appreciate keeping that to yourself," a male voice spoke up behind her. Danny cringed and jumped down.
"Of course unc- Master Xing." Her tail flicked nervously, fur standing on end.
"Good. Come now everyone. We'll gather your friend and head to the training courses. I hope you don't mind a guest though. He would like to meet you all," Master Xing said, turning toward the door. Danny still seemed on end, rather quiet since he'd spoken up.

Elizabeth hangs back near danny, and tries something she normally never does anymore. she lightly pokes her conciusness. /you ok..? you look like some trodded upon your tail.../

Craf walked over to Danny, chuckling, and leaned close to her so that he could talk silently.
"I heard that," he whispered into the tiger's ear. "So... he he... Xing's your uncle, huh? Not surprising... I saw the way he looks at you. The glint in his eyes when he sees you is quite... he he... avuncular."
(Avuncular = like an uncle)

*Shadis slowly and cautiously followed MAster Xing, quiet as could be, as he tryed to figure out how to apologise for the system's destruction. He looked quite worried*

Danny jumped at the new mental contact, fur on end. 'Who is this?'
Master Xing glanced over at Shadis, blank faced. "How did you like the training course?"
(Kaya's MIA right now. She's working through sideeffects of medicine.)

"Oh, it was fun," Craf said. "But... he he... I suggest you remove that vine from the exit hallway. It scared the hell out of me, I thought it was another trap."

"I, im very sorry about that, sir. The impure blood mixture in my body makes me to crazy things sometimes, but that is no excuse for this vandalism. How can I help repair and repay for the damages?"

Elizabeth looks at danny and figures she did not feel the mental brushup and then goes back to watching master xing and than follows after bringing up the rear.

Violet punched Craf in the left shoulder, causing the cat to whimper slightly.
"Shut the hell up!"

Master Xing held a blank face. "You'll help Danny and I fix it tomorrow. Danny, perhaps you should lead the way to the arena. I saw you hadn't shown them that yet, and I'd like a friend of mine to see you train."
Danny nodded. "Yes sir," she said, near the back. She hurried to the front, not looking at anyone in the face. She shook slightly when he tapped her in the back, but hid it quickly.

As he started to walk, Craf noticed Danny shake slightly when Xing tapped her back.
That's strange, he thought. The way she reacted... it was almost as if... as if she was scared of him...

Naer reluctantly resumed his meditation, knowing that his gift was all too eager to come to fruition. He started to focus the power through his hands, and he couldn't help but smile as fire coated his talons. He then let the fires trail up, and his robes seemed unharmed as the fire crawled up to his shoulders.
As the fire spread up his arms, Naer's mind conjured up the idea that maybe the fire itself was another individual, providing him with comforting warmth when others were too unfamiliar. He was completely unaware of the heat he was giving off, or that it seemed like his arms were being burned away rather than just covered in the loving blaze.

elizabeth flinched at all thte heat Naer was giving off and quickly followed after the rest of the group.. she was a bit puzzled by Danny's reaction to Master Xing but tucked it into the back of her mind. /oh well proably just some unresolved family issues.../ something out of the corner of her eye, catches her attention and she forgets about following the group and goes to try to figure out what exactly it was.

Master Xing glanced over at her retreating form. "You shouldn't go off by yourself child. Stick with the group for now. We'll get your dragon friend as well."

Violet cocked her eyebrow. "Um... get him for what? I still have no clue as to why you called us all here."

Danny smiled back at them, all hints of anything but happiness gone. "We're going to the training area. Master Xing wants to see you all in action."

Violet glanced back nervously at Craf, who was chuckling.
"Be careful what you wish for, Danny," she said, turning her gaze back towards the tiger girl. "By the way.... what's with the piercing? Does it have some special meaning or something? I was just curious..."
Craf rolled his eyes. "Why do you ask everyone what every odd thing that they have is for?"

"oh sorry sir, im coming" she follows them the rest of the way, shadis as well.

Naer leaves the meditation room, his arms still coated in fire and making the air around him very toasty and dry. When Naer reaches Master Xing, he spreads his arms out before giving him a bow. "Excuse the embers, they are simply the results of some much-needed reflection. I had heard from down the hall that you were going to have us fight each other, or some form of test for martial skill." He then stood upright while tucking his wings away. In his eyes there was an eagerness for combat that seemed to glow like his own flames.

Danny smiled. "Just a trinket. My mother was an engineer."
Master Xing stopped at an iron door. A lock, barely the size of his pinky finger, sat in the middle on it. He pulled a key out of his pocket. Within a second of it touching the key hole, the door swung open to another greenhouse, a large mossy pit in the middle. Circular ports sat in regular intervals arounnd the edge, benches just beyond. Master Xing smiled. "please, sit. I will get the area ready."

Violet nodded. "I see... that explains the shape."
Craf sat down and looked around the arena. "Hmm... he he he... this should be fun..."

Naer sits down at a bench, the fire spreading over the rest of his body and warming him down to the core of his being. He then drew out his bow, which seemed to be unharmed by the fire as well. He pulled back the string, and the fires from both of his talons came together to form an arrow, only to vanish as he slackened on the string. Arrows of fire... I suppose this will have to do since I would burn up my normal ammunition.

Danny sat beside him as Master Xing prepared the trainers. She kept a safe enough distance from the fire. "So you can control fire? Is that why it doesn't burn you?"

Naer put the bow down on his lap and retracted the flame from his forearms, though it still stood around his biceps and upper back. "I can't say it is control, but I can give you a crash-course on how I tapped into my gift after the fighting." He then covered his talons in flame again as he pulled out his bow and shot an arrow of fire across the arena and watch it smash against the masonry with a scorch mark. A smirk played across his face while he set the bow down again. "As for the lack of burning, it's partially hereditary."

"Really?" Craf said, drawing a long dagger. "That's... he he... interesting...."

"Really? I'd love that." She smiled, cringing at Master Xing's shrill whistle.
"Danny, you're first. Show them what to do," he said, moving to a control panel. "No destroying the machines this time. ALL of you." He looked pointedly at a certain half dragon sitting nearby before turning to the controls.
"Alright." She stood up and walked to the middle of the rising pillars, waiting to start.
Pillars rose around her, nearly touching. Gears could be heard turning inside them, clicking and ticking as weapons positioned themselves facing her. Doors opened at the bottom of each. A human sized bot, clockwork gears clicking away, walked from each one. "Begin."

Naer watched with mild interest, then smirked when Master Xing said to not destroy the machines. The smirk grew when the clockwork androids appeared. He wondered what Master Xing meant by 'destroying the machines', as he made it seem like you had to avoid fighting these mechanical constructs as well.

Craf stood up, his hood still on, and unsheathed what could only be described as some sort of sword with a blade formed out of light. He chuckled.
"This should be fun," he said.
Violet drew her own knives. "Yep... hopefully..."

The robots attacked, clunky but fast. Danny dodged easily, smiling and landing on one's shoulders. The robots followed her, keeping up as she flipped and spun to face them. For several minutes she elluded and teased them, outright showing off her skills, before she got bored and flicked the switches on the back of each, turning them off. Master Xing seemed concerned.
"You're getting too used to this. Next time, I'll have to raise the level. Naer, how about you go next? No destruction. Let's see your skills." He quickly reset the machines as Danny moved the machines back into place.

Naer started snickering and chuckling as he went into the center of the pillars. He then unfurled his wings and flew up onto a pillar. He was unaware if the robots had any form of long-ranged attacks, but he was at least out of the reach of one-handed weapons. From there, he took out his bow and waited for a back switch to be visible before shutting off a robot with a well-placed arrow. "I must thank Danny for showing where to shut them off, otherwise I might have needed to get a little... destructive."

Craf shook his head disapprovingly. "Don't get cocky, sir... nothing good ever comes from it."

Naer was quick to pick up what Craf had said, and conjured an arrow of fire that he fired just above Craf's head. Of course, the angle he fired from made it seem like he was aiming for the head until the fiery bolt flew harmlessly over his head. "Watch your tongue, or I'll burn it off..." He then dispelled the fire around his hands while drawing another arrow to de-activate yet another clockwork soldier.

Craf shrugged. "Um... okay... just a suggestion... besides, you seem to be able to control yourself, despite your violent personality."
Violet facepalmed herself. "Not again... you have to understand he doesn't mean it to insult you, he's just nuts..."

Elizabeth giggles at the boys fighting about being cocky, and poor maners. neither of , so she just seemed like they had a right to be arguing about such things. even herself had no right to chime in, so she just sat and watched hoping for a fight to break out

Craf cocked what eyebrow. "What insults? I was merely giving worthwhile advice."
"Just drop it, Craf," Violet said, dragging Craf back to where she was standing.
Craf shook his arm out of her grip and walked over there himself. "I was coming, sheesh..."

Elizabeth is ammusing herself by making a small burst of air fly in her face and is laughing about it. "whos next for those robo thing-a-ma-gigs?"

"I suppose I'll go," Craf said, pulling out the odd-looking sword and the dagger and stepping into the ring. "Just give me the word."

Later, after training, Danny walked down the halls with them, showing them this room or that in a different wing. Behind them, out of sight, shadows moved within their wills.

Danny padded quietly through the hall, smiling. "...We don't always have this many students, but we have about a hundred bedrooms in case we need them." Her tail flicked lightly, iron claws rustling in her bag. A shadow moved silently behind them. "Co you have any questions?"

Elizabeth peers around Naer to look at danny. "um.... is ther nighttime access to the courtyard....? " she slides past Naer closer to Danny.

"Sadly, no. That's when They come out." The shadow moved around their feet, making its way to the first target.

Elizabeth yelps and jumps trying to find a handhold on the wall. "what the heck ar those things? and if they are dangeroush why the hell ar they in here? wait dont tell me.. scurity reasons...." she digs her claws into the softer part of the wall not wanting to touch the floor somethin moves under her hand. she lets go and falls to the floor, standing compleetly still looking at the moving shadows.

Danny whipped around, grabbing her claws. Shadows surrounded them, rising out of the floor. Once to their full height, their heads bent down and their shoulders touched the ceiling. Dark clothes, varying in style, covered their figures. Danny gulped and flattened her ears. This was too many for her to handle.

"ummmm i dont meen to sound like im complaining or anything.. but .. you do know how to kill thies things right....?" elizabeth is starting to panic slightly and is creating a little bit of a breese around herself. her ears are constantly moving and she keeps glancing at the others.

Naer growled under his breath as the shadows drew close, not wanting to cause collateral damage by shooting his firey arrows at the shadows. However, when they manifested and surrounded the group, Naer snorted as his drew his bow and covered his entire body in fire. "Danny, tell me where to aim..." Naer calmly requested as he conjured an arrow of flame onto the bowstring.

"And tell me where to duel," Craf said, unsheathing his sword and dagger and holding them in a ready position.
"And me where to stab," Violet said, unsheathing her daggers.

*Shadis frowns* "And tell me where the exit is. This is NOT what I signed up for!" *He trys to leave but before he can be stopped he has another maddness attack and swings his claws at one of the figures.*

Danny lunged at the closest one, lashing out at them. "Aim at the head!" Blue blood spurted on her as she clawed its side. The... thing, for lack of a better word, grasped at her, several others following lead.

*Shadis's eyes now yellow and reptillian, he growls fercoiusly as he rips apart several of the shadowed creatures. He naturally bluwe fur was soon stained blue by there blood.*

Violet joined in,swiping and stabbing with her daggers, making sure to aim for the creatures' faces. Craf joined in as well, plowing right into a trio of the creatures as he hacked and slashed at their heads. "Have at thee!" he shouted, chuckling.

Elizabeth watched amused and horrified. there was not much she really could do. she did the only thing she really was good at and darted off to find master Xing.

Naer let his arrow of flame fly, engulfing one figure's head in fire and making blue blood splatter against the wall behind the creature. He repeated this to almost all of the creatures that surrounded them, hitting each head with practiced as well as natural accuracy. He even toyed with Craf by letting a few arrows fly by his face and hit the same target he swung at. He then had an idea, and broke off from the group, letting his wings loose and lighting up the room with the display of fire upon his back. "Come on you blue-blooded monsters, how about you focus on the one that can actually hit you?!"
He saw that Elizabeth wasn't going to last long if they turned to chase her, so he thought a bright and fiery distraction would be just what the situation called for...

Elizabeth scrambled down the hallway and skittered around the cornner. "Master Xing?! where are you?" she darted down different halls back into the greenhouse. that ended up being a bit of a mistake. there were a hand full of the shadow creatures there. she slid to a stop and started backing up. she laid her ears back and let out a little shreak of fear. not the bet thing to do, they turned around and she darted off towards the main room. while she was running a hand snatched her ankle from in the ground. she fell forward and slamed into the ground hard enough to knock the air out of her chest. she lay there gasping trying to get her breth back and the shadow came to the surface.

Danny attacked the backs of the remaining creatures' heads as they hurried in Naer's direction. Her once red and black fur was splattered blue as she downs another.

The shadow creatures advanced on Elizabeth, ready to strike as a large boulder smacks into one's head. It goes rolling as another shrivels up, screaming in agony. Yet another suffers the same fate as the first. They back away, head for the shadows as Master Xing and Sheila step into veiw.
He hurried over to Elizabeth. "Are you hurt?

*she shakes her head and gets out* the others they are .. in the hall... by the dorms..."

"Well, most of them."
Craf walked up to them, looking like hell but surprisingly not bleeding. "We've managed to drive them off," he said, although his facial expression was lost, for the hood was still pulled deep over his head. "As far as I know, no one is seriously hurt, but I suppose that we should still go check." With those words, he dashed around the corner, heading back to the others.

*Shadis calmed down shortly after the battle and his eyes returned to normal. He retracted his very bloody claws and frowned at himself. His entire body was a tie die of blue blood from the shadow creatures, red blood from himself, and purple where it mixed. Thankfully he wasn't hit anywhere vital.* "I guess I'll have to stay after all. Not like I will find any other healers around." *He then saw one of the Shadow Creatures weapons that it had dropped. Most of the weapons had dissapeared when there master died or light hit them, but this one was, oddly enough, still here and very soild, and sharp.* "I hope you guys don't mind but... I'm taking this." *He picks up the rather beautiful blade and shieths it in his belt. He then turns to the group.*

(I don't mind, but I'd rather this didn't happen with every enemy. ...Also, those were minions. And Cif, that was rather abrupt. It killed some of the fun of fighting by just saying we won and chased them off. I prefer to see the end.)
Danny panted heavily, settling to her knees and looking around. That was WAY too many, and they left too shortly to be normal. They were looking for something and got it. Or covering for HER. Danny shuddered. Not again...

Elizabeth growls slighrly. I NEVER want to be that helpless again... her voice shakes as dhe finally gets back up. she tested her ankle and gritted her teeth as a small bolt of pain shot up her leg. "Sir.. when.. when can we start the training?"

Master Xing picked her up in his arms, cradeling he gently. He smiled. "Once you have all been patched up we'll start." Sheila huffed and shouldered past the three.
"I'll go check on the idiots to see if they're alive."

Naer was really not sure where he was going, but he was still able to fire off shots while going through the corridors. Though he realized that now that he was the only target, he had no openings to exploit while the group had kept the majority of them busy. Given that he was not used to archery while flying, and that anywhere else but the head was like shooting through nothing.
It was almost five minutes since he started flying when he ended up at a room in the end of an unrecognizable hall, and was cut off from any further escape. Yet that was also the moment when the shadows stopped their charge and lowered their blades. Naer floated down, but kept his bow drawn. One of the figures stepped forward and presented a bronze chain that held a golden lantern-shaped charm.
"The maiden of fire sent us to bring a gift. She also wishes an audience with you, who holds her soul." The chain was tossed towards him, and he lost all interest in fighting as he dropped the bow and grabbed the charm with both hands. Naer stared in wide-eyed wonder at the small lantern, then put back up his guard as he picked up his bow and hid the charm under his cloak.
"If this be a trick, you lot will not be enough to hold me down..."

"Don't worry, I have you covered if that's the case."
Violet appeared at the end of the hall, her knives at hand.
"I heard that," Craf said as he walked down the hall.

The shadows said nothing, all but one disappearing into shadows and leaving. The remaining one smirked inwardly. "Meet the maiden tomorrow night on the cliff's edge at the snake arch. She will be waiting. Bring the amulet." Without another word, the shadow hurried away. Nothing remained behind them, save the blood.

Viola lowered her daggers. "Well... that was rather odd." She walked up to Naer, sheathing her knives. "Did you have any clue what they were talking about?"

Craf looked around at all the dead shadow corpses. "Sorry to disappoint you, madam," he said, chuckling. "But... he he... we had a few casualties. However, all of us are fine... well, not sure about Naer or Violet yet, but I'm pretty sure they're fine."

Naer just stared blankly for a few seconds, trying to contain his emotions, the worst of them was the urge to start giggling and bouncing around with the charm in his hands. So he put his bow away and shrugged. "They spoke some weird language, so I have no idea what they were after. It was really odd, telling me something I don't understand, then just leaving..."

*Shadis meekly walked over to the group.* "Well that was wierd, but exciting! I think I'll stay awhile and learn how to better use this." *He draws his sword, admiring it greatly. He then noticed that it had some of his blood on it. He frowned and whiped it off. He mumbled under his breath.* "Of course... the only one I take is the only one that actually hurt me..."

"Irony... he he... it's quite fun at times." Sheathing his own sword of light and the dagger, he went off in search of Violet and Naer.
Violet looked at Naer oddly. "You're not telling the truth, Naer," she said. "I can see it in your eyes."

Naer started to growl when Violet tried to get him to tell the truth. He covered his fist in fire and watched as Violet fell for his feint by hopping away the moment she saw his fiery fist come at her. "Of course you believe I'm lying... you never dropped your guard when I'm near. So I reason that telling you the truth will also be a lie to you, simply because you're waiting for the moment that my death is justified by your eyes." He extinguished the flame and stretched his arms in relaxation. "Or you won't wait, you'll obsess over the idea that I am the danger. Just remember, I am unharmed by fire... you are not."

Violet looked him in the eyes, staring unflinchingly as the fist comes inches from her face. "I know you're lying," she said. "But I don't think you're a danger."

*Shadis growled and stepped between them, pushing both of them back.* "Enough! Violet, like it or not, he IS a danger and could kill you without any remorse or difficulty what so ever. Honestly, I'm amazed he hasn't already! Naer, Don't get so damn agressive just because someone called you out on something. We can all see your hiding something from us, but nobody really cares enough to ask, that or there too afraid to ask. Either way, take a damn chill pill! Now, if you two are done bickering, we need to see Master Xing, as I'd like to know what the HELL JUST HAPPENED!" *Shadis leaves the room and approaches Master Xing.*

Elizabeth squerms and hides behind master Xing when she saw Shadis stalking over an angry look on his face. she hoped he wasnt mad at her for running off and not fighting. she was pritty useless in the fighting department without any training.

Master Xing stopped in front of Shadis, not a single emotion on his face. "What happened here?"
Danny got to her feet, glancing around. "Around twelve shadows attacked us. Not their usual pattern, so they might have been covering for someone or looking for something. Or someone. Whatever it was, they finished their mission." She rubbed her arm under his scrutinizing gaze.
"Check your rooms. Danny and I will check the rest of the facility. After you are done with your rooms, get your wounds bandaged," he said, walking past the group with Danny in tow.

With master Xing having moved Elizabeth is visiable a meek look on her face. she quickly looks towards the others and inches closer.

Craf stumbled back a few paces. "Um... it's fine, I, um... I didn't get hurt." With those words, he ran to his room.
Violet looked after him with an inquisitive look on her face. "Weird... I could have sworn he had been cut before... come to think of it, he's never stayed in bed longer than a few hours after he's supposedly hurt something..." She shrugged. "Well, I know for a fact he has no healing powers, so I guess he's just extremely lucky or he likes to fake injuries."
She turned to Shadis. "I know he could kill me... but I also know that at the current time, he WOULDN'T kill me." She shrugged. "I never said he wasn't dangerous, I just said he's not a danger currently. I have no idea what the future brings."
(He doesn't have healing powers. He was outright lying.)

Danny and Master Xing walked in silence for a bit. He sighed. "Danny, you should be more careful around those things. You know the risks, particularly with new trainees."
She nodded. "Of course." Her shoulders sagged. "Uncle, I want go out with you next time you search. I could-"
Master Xing flattened her ears and growled. "Absolutely not. I don't want you doing any such thing, much less with that. You know how I feel about that."
Danny growled right back. "Well if you'd let me maybe we'd FIND something! You've been searching for months and we still have no clue who's in charch of those things. What harm-"
"I SAID NO!" Danny shrank back, terrified as tints of black colored the whites of his eyes. "I don't want you using that at all. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!" She nodded quickly. He walked down the hall, snarling as he spoke the next part. "If I ever catch you using that, you'll end up like my brother. Go search the west wing. NOW."
She hurried away, shaking. 'Not again...'

Elizabeth slunk off in the general direction that Master Xing and danny went. she heard them arguing about something and waited until she heard the footsteps walk off in two different directions. she went to the west wing following after Danny.
"umm.. you... you n-need any help with an-anything?" she stammered out quietly.

Naer had entered his room, and there was a scroll on his bed. His heart skipped a beat and he gripped the charm through his robe as he picked up the scroll. He then opened it and it was a map with elegant handwriting on it. "Here is your way to our special spot, my dear Naer." When he let go of the scroll, it burst into flames while also painfully burning the path into his mind.
He couldn't tell if he had yelled or roared during the mental burn, but when it was gone, he just felt tired and passed out on his bed with no traces of the scroll to be found.

*Shadis, now calmed down abit, drew his new sword and began searching the halls for any more Shadows. His search eventually brought him near the bedrooms just in time to hear Naer roar/yell/bellow in mental anguish. Alarmed, he ran to Naer's door and pounded on it.* "Naer, are you alright?! Naer?!"

Danny jumped and whipped around, iron claws on her hands. Fear still pulsed through her system, making her breathing short. She still shook from Master Xing's threats. She relaxed a little when she saw it was Elizabeth. "You should go get cleaned up. It's dangerous to be in these halls. Please. If they attacked again, I don't know how many I could protect."

Shadis could hear nothing come from the room, as Near was fast asleep and did not snore. If he broke in, he would simply see the dragon lying on the bed asleep. The trace amount of ashes in the room would be mistaken for dust instead of the scroll it was originally made from.

Just then, Craf walked up to Danny and Elizabeth. "My room's clear," he said. "I checked with Violet, and hers is clear too. Also, I think Naer might be having a painful dream... he just screamed rather loudly." He shrugged. "Anyway, is there anything I can help with?"

*Unconvinced, Shadis stabbed his sword in the crack of the door and pryed it open without damaging it. He scanned the interior but found nothing out of the ordinary. He checked the pulse of the sleeping Naer and found him to be perfectly healthy. He frowned as he exited the room, closing the door behind him.* "Wierd. Could have sworn something was up. Maybe it was just my imagination I guess." *He wandered over to the group.* "No signs of... of... uhh, Danny, what the hell were those things?"

Danny smiled at them. They were more resiliant than she gave them credit for. "Shadow beings. You should all go rest. Tomorrow's the first day of training, and knowing Master Xing, he'll be extremely hard on you all." Her shoulders sagged and for a fleeting moment uncertain fear crossed her features. It was gone in a moment, hardly recognizable. "I need to patrol the west Wing. Thank you though."

*Shadis frowned.* "But WHY were they attacking you? They have no reason to do so! Do they?"

Craf shrugged. "Sure you don't need any help?" he said. "I'm still kinda restless."

She nodded to Craf but paused at Shadis's question. "I'm not the target. The temple is. It's unknown to us why they attack too though. Whoever behind it has kept herself hidden."

Craf bowed in understanding and started to walk away, but then stopped and came back, kneeling down next to Elizabeth. "Come, young one," he said. "We are not needed here at the time."

*I frown* "Well, let's figure this thing out then.. but in the morning. I need to sleep and heal these wounds." *I yawn* "Good night" *I then return to the room. Closin gand locking my door, I make sure what little poessions I had were attached to me as I slept, and I kept the sword nearby should anythign else happen. I go to sleep on the bed.*

"Her self? w-what makes you think it is a girl?"

Craf gently laid a hand on Elizabeth's shoulder. "You can ask her tomorrow," he said. "I think she's busy right now."

Naer woke up shortly after everyone was gone from his door. He listened and checked to see if anyone was near the door, then took out the gift he hoped he had received from his fiery maiden. He dangled the charm in front of his face, then during his transition to the meditative state he breathed deeply onto the charm. What came next was a surprise to him, as the lantern now had a fire of its own.
Staring into the fire, the room fell away to a large dome with a massive blaze in the center. He put the charm away, and surveyed his surroundings with visible awe and joy as the flame within him resonated with the dome's blaze. He was then disrupted from his reverie as a soft yet unforgettable voice rang through his ears.
"I am glad you've accepted my gift, holder of my soul. Do not worry, your body has not been removed from the temple. I will arrive in the moment, though we cannot touch until tomorrow." Naer smirked. "You give me your image, yet I am forbidden to touch? You are a terrible tease, maiden of fire." She only replied with a sultry laughter...

A knock came on Naer's door. "Is everything alright in there?" Craf asked through the door.

Light filtered through the windows in Danny's room, making her groan and pull the covers up. She'd only just gotten to sleep, having spent most of the night searching the compound. She quietly wished the sun would just go down again and let her sleep...
Regardless of her wishes, she got to her feet, stumbling into her clothes ad washing up. She walked bleary eyed to the hall.

Naer was not graced with the full image of the maiden, mostly because she stood in front of the blaze, giving him only a general outline as they spoke. He couldn't recall all that they spoke, but it felt like he had just told her his life's story. She then rewarded him by 'strengthening the connection', and he was forced into consciousness just as a stream of fire left his mouth. He was still in his previous sitting position, apparently having meditated throughout the entire night and into the day.
He let out a yawn as he stood up and gently walked out of his room, pushing the door open and leaving a scorch mark where his hand had touched it. When he spotted Danny, he almost skipped towards her, a very large grin upon his face. "So, Danny... were you the one that asked to have me show you how to get in touch with your power?"

*Morning arouse, which found Shadis sprawled out on the floor. His dreams had not been restful. He had not seen this much action in quite some time, and had mixed feeling about it. eaither way. He collected his few belongings, took a few moments to admire his shadow sword, washed up abit in his sink basin, and then exited his room, seeing Danny and Naer not far away. He casually approached the,* "Good morning. Everyone sleep okay?

Elizabeth is sitting out in the courtyard looking everything over... it seemed as noting was effected from lastnight.... the birds wernt even bothered... though they might just have been used to it. she decided to walk through the halls to explore and ran into danny and Naer along with Shadis.

"Hey Naer!" Craf ran up to the lizard, the mask still over his face. "Hi," he said, nodding to Danny, Elizabeth and Shadis befofer facing Naer again. "What were yo udoing in your room last night? It sounded like you were having a bad dream or something."
Viola walked around the corner, following the sound of everyone's voice, and stood with the others. "G'day, everyone," she said, chuckling.

Naer dropped the smile, but he was still in a joyful mood as he faced Craf. "You didn't check on Shadis, Elizabeth, maybe Danny or the Master? Well, if you must know, I dislocated my wing during the chase, and I put it back in place when I got back to my room." He flexed his wings and flapped once. "Also, I got better at my fire magic..." He held out his hand and an orb of fire came into existence in front of everyone. "I can also breathe fire, but I insist on knowing how everyone else has improved... or handled the assault from yesterday."

He let out a yawn as he stood up and gently walked out of his room, pushing the door open and leaving a scorch mark where his hand had touched it. When he spotted Danny, he almost skipped towards her, a very large grin upon his face. "So, Danny... were you the one that asked to have me show you how to get in touch with your power?"
Danny smiled, enjoying the sight of Naer so happy. "Yeah. would you still be willing to help me?" She leaned against the wall as the others walked up, still blinking away sleep. She looked over at Shadis. "Depends a bit on who you ask."

He dispelled the fireball, and gave her a formal bow. "It would be a pleasure to see what you are capable of, if you would allow me to be your instructor. Of course I do not expect to teach you how to use the greater amounts of energy, only help you reach greater levels of power. I only make it seem easy due to my inherit ability for combat..."

Danny hugged him. "I'd love that. Would you like to start after breakfast? Master Xing doesn't like us to go without eating." She started slowly down the hall toward the cafeteria.

elizabeth just looked on and nodded to craf as he said good morning. she honestly did not know what to do... it was all rather different and she was way out of her comfort zone with all that had happened. she knew she needed to get stronger.. but really did not know how to... She was to timid to ask for direct help so she just milled around until she heard danny say something about the cafiteria.

"Sounds pleasant," Craf said. "I second that motion."
"You don't eat anything," Violet said, looking oddly at Craf.
"I do!" Craf replied back quickly. "It's just that... um... I... I like eating early before everyone else."

Naer shrugged, orbiting around Danny as they walked towards the mess hall. "Elizabeth, would you like to learn as well? I have yet to hear any recognition from you that I was even heard." He kept his hands behind his back, a shimmer of heat emanating from the talons. "Anyone else willing to take me up on that offer?" He asked aloud, glancing back for only a few seconds before turning forward again.

*Shadis continued to walk with the group* "I suppose I could try. I've never really had any training of any kind for combat or using my magic. Better late then never I suppose." *He whispered to Danny.* "Well it looks like he had a good night sleep atleast."

"yes sir... if i wont be a bother to you.." elizabeth shyly states, and keeps her head down. she hated this.. i have seriously got to get ovwer this..... there is so much i want to ask and learn...

"I guess I'll come too," Violet said, flicking one of her long white ears.

(*Groan* Kaya, you're in charge of my characters when I'm not around. You know what their stories are mostly. I'm helping my parents out most of the day, so I'm not on much.)
Danny smiled. "We can head to the gardens for training. Master Xing doesn't mind. He's pretty busy right now." She swayed slightly, leaning on the wall again. "I have to get more sleep later..."

Danny smiled. "Tired and hungry is all. I had a long night." Her stomach picked that moment to snap at her, doubling her over in pain. "Damn cramps. Let's go snag something from the cafeteria, alright?"

Naer hooked Danny's left arm over his neck so she could still walk even if another pang of hunger occurred. "So Master Xing made you go without food during the rest of your patrol." There was an awkward silence that prompted him to speak again. "I can give you my explanation for that conclusion while we eat, or just after I finish eating."

*Shadis went to assit Danny, but Naer helped her first. He then simply followed along, not knowing what to say. After awhile, they all arrived at the cafiteria.*

Craf and Violet followed behind.

Elizabeth smiled at their eagerness to help danny, then followed to the cafiteria.

"here we are..." danny said as they entered the large room. there was a small area for cooking things the mselves or the breakfast food that was already made on the other table.

Craf looked around. "Great setup."
Violet took an apple and some toast and sat down to eat.

Naer carried Danny to the table, then sat down with her to eat his own large portion of the meal. Halfway through his eating, he stopped and turned to Danny. "I realized he kept you up because of your fatigue and intense hunger. Had you gone to sleep at the same time as everyone else, you would only be hungry and mildly groggy. But, since Master Xing had you do more patrolling, you used more energy than your body was accustomed to losing, and ended up in the state you are in now." He then resumed eating.

Craf stared at Naer.
"How can you eat that much and stay thin?" he asked.

*I eagerly gnaw at some chicken* "Well oviously he burns through calories like he burns through his foes. I saw you fighting Naer. Very impressive! You knowledge of your skill in commendable. They never really stood a chance." *I go back to mawing my food apart, very hungerly*

Craf nodded pensievely.
"That seems like a reasonable theory," he said. "And he's right, Naer. You fight well."

Danny, unbeknownst to them, had fallen fast asleep even before Naer had set her down, leaning lightly against him.

When he finished his meal, Naer got a plate for Danny and gathered her breakfast for her. He had propped her up with his bow so she wouldn't fall down while he was away. When he got back to his seat, he placed the plate in front of her and quickly shaked her head. "Wake up, eat, then go back to sleep!"

"Careful, Naer!" Violet said. "Brains are fragile!"

Elizabeth grabed a few apples and a peach. she was about to sneak off to sit by herself (wolf i hope you dont mind this..)but shadis looked up and saw her about to leave.
(haha my character is rather shy guys. and can dissapear rather quickly.. keep her around please.. so she can start opening up. ;) )

Still holding Danny's head in his hand, he turned to Violet with some annoyance. "I'm not jerking it around hard enough to pull any real damage off. She might get a headache when she wakes up, but that's about it." He then noticed that someone was still not at the table. "Did anyone see our more timid friend leave the group?"

"Yes, she's right there," Craf said, pointing Scarlett out.
Violet nods. "Ok. Sorry man."

Elizabeth froze and smiled sheepishly. "uh.. um...i-i was.. " she could not for the life of her come up with a good lie. "i-i was just.. going.. to to eat these o-out in the courtt yard." Her face was starting to turn red and her tail was starting to puff up a little bit. Elizabeth was glad the fur on her face was a bit thicker than normal.

Craf nodded. "Ok then, carry on," he said.

*Feeling a pang of Empathy for his shy friend* "Uh, yes, that makes sense actually. Being an air elemental, she would naturally wish to be exposed to this open mountain air for her meals. Would you like someone to accompany you? Or does your meditations require isolation?" *He thought and spoke quickly, oviously not a stranger to making up excuses for escaping public places.*

Craf watched the exchanges with a calm expression. "That makes perfect sense," he said... but it could not be told whether or not he smiled, due to his mask.

*Figuring she would like to be alone, Shadis turned back to the group* "So, Craf, ever had any good advetures?" *He attemted conversation while he munched contently on his meal*

The masked feline looked over at Shadis. "Well... a few," he said, nevousness in his voice.

*Compassion seeps unconciously into Shadis's voice* "It's ok if you don't wish to share."

Craf shrugged. "Oh no, I don't mind... it's just..." He chuckled. "Well, didn't really expect the question."

"Oh, well then, in that case, spill it!" *He smiles*

"Um... ok." Craf thought for a bit. "So... just myself, or the ones I've had with Violet?"

Danny opened her eyes sleepily, groaning. She only realized her position after a moment or two. "Oh, uh, sorry. I need to get more sleep..."
