Hoping somebody can help me with my broadband. It has slowed to a crawl on my P.C, laptop and my xbox won't even connect to live. I'm not exactly computer literate and could use some advice on what checks I can do.

Have you tried to reboot it completely? That is, pull out the chord and waiting a few seconds before putting it back in?
If that didn't work, try going to http://www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net) and doing the test. If the results are significantly worse than expected, you may wanna try calling your ISP (Internet Service Provider, i.e the company that you pay for the broadband) and ask them why your connection is so bad.
If your results over at speedtest.net are somewhat close to what you should expect it could be an issue with the router, I still suggest you consult your ISP's tech support and see if they can help.
Also, did this just happen randomly or has anything happened recently that could have caused it?

Yeah I tried to reboot and that didn't help. Looks like I have to bite the bullet and call my ISP, was hoping to avoid this because the customer service is awful.
It just slowed a couple of days ago, I can't think of any reason for it to happen at my end.
Thanks Timmy.

Some ISP's offer limited download plans in which you can only download a certain amount. Once you exceed that amount your internet is put on to dial connection and will slow down to an absolute crawl.
So if you have been downloading a lot then check whether your ISP has a plan similar to this or not.

There is a Fair Use Policy, however I don't think thats the case because I don't download all that much but it is worth checking.
Cheers Anoni.

Oh yeah I forgot about that as here in Sweden, unlimited internet plans is quite the standard nowadays for ADSL and Fiber broadband subscriptions.. only I believe the unreliable stuff like 3G (and 4G) that can come with data plans here.. And Dial up of course, but that's quite non-existent here..
(Yes I know we're quite spoilt with internet freedom here)
But for the point, I agree that can be worth checking on.

Thankyou guys for the advice and suggestions. It's sorted now it turns out the filter for one of my phones was knackered so it was a simple job in the end... about right for me.
Thanks again. :)

And your welcome for the advice :3

Hooray for good internet!
Also on an unrelated note
-_-, Australians are so internet deprived, I get 2 Megabytes per second download and I have 400GB a month download plan, and that is seen as the best internet of Australia practically XD
