-Suzumi-Jayce widened his eyes, knowing exactly what he meant... unfortunately, he also knew what might happen if he made one.
Spurney tilted his head slightly and replied, "Translation? It says, 'Understanding is key.' "
Clarissa turned toward them and admonished, "Spurney! She said not to bring it up, so leave it be! It's none of our business, anyway."

Chris frowned and held out his paw. Metal again seemed to flow out of the ground in front of him, going through the air, finally settling over his paw in the form of a small, metal ball. "This kind of ball." He rolled the ball around in his paw before letting it drop to the ground again.

Spurney frowned and finished her soup. "Well, if you were exiled from Besmir, you don't want to go back... They might kill you. You're better off finding a place to stay in a city or village somewhere. Fnorgan is to the east of here, and the closest village is about the same distance, to the south-east. We could take you there, if you want. I've been wanting to visit an earth village... We could make it there this afternoon if we hurry."
"More like if you ever start packing up your things..." Clarissa chimed in.
Spurney rolled his eyes and finished his soup. He set his bowl by Clarissa and started to roll up his bedding, putting all of their things back into his pack.

Deirx nodded. "No problem. Let's go, the others are waiting for us." He dashed off into the woods, heading in a generally south-western direction. <Insert time lapse here of running for ten minutes>. They suddenly emerged from the woods and into a rather large clearing. A group of people were standing at the other end, close to the woods. Deirx nodded as he saw Krystal talking with someone by a computer. He jogged up to Chris and asked, "Has Leiton made it back yet? He wasn't at his house."
Chris shook his head. "He met with us in the city, but ran off. Said he had to do something. We can't wait for him. I guarantee Black isn't the ones in charge of this attack."

Chris looked over at Jayce and gave him an odd look. "You really don't know? Black is a group of people that are trying to overthrow the current ruler. He obtained the crown by force years ago, and started issuing orders that everyone that used magic should be thrown out of the city in his... 'Purification'."
Across the clearing, two people broke out of the woods, Crystal and Sarah. They ran up to Chris and Crystal started babbling about Leiton not being there and this dome of darkness. Chris calmed her down after a minute and sat down. After a few minutes, Deirx and Grant emerged from the woods and made their way towards the group. Deirx and Chris began speaking as the two by the technical equipment started to pack everything back away.
Chris turned to the group and nodded. "Alright, the rest of you can follow us until we get the village. We're going to be crossing the major road as well, so be careful. We don't need to start a fight with the Guard on the open road."
Grant was relieved to see Krystal and her family were alive. He would have hated to have found that the family that had helped him in his time of need had perished. He watched as a person was working on something on a computer, but his ears perked as Deirx began to talk to Chris. Tuning into their conversation, Grant hoped he could discover a piece of what was going on."Snoop around much?" Jayce said, popping up behind Grant suddenly. "Or are you just interested?"
"Has Leiton made it back yet? He wasn't at his house."
"He met with us in the city, but ran off. Said he had to do something. We can't wait for him. I guarantee Black isn't the ones in charge of this attack."
Black had not been in charge of the attack? Grant suspected the criminal organization had something to do with the event, but this was a surprise. Who could have done it? Grant kept his ears perked and tried to look inconspicuous by staring off into the distance as he tried to glean more information.
-Cifero-Jayce smiled. "Knew you were lying," he said, leaping out of his chair. "Thanks for the information, Benton. Pleasure working with you." Grabbing hold of Benton, Jayce dashed out of the vehicle, tossing Benton straight at Jasper and flipping over them to run into the wilderness, where he followed the scent of the others straight to the village.
The Guard laughed at him. "Are you dense? That's what I said! Now, if you don't-"
He was interrupted by the back door opening. The unmistakably familiar voice of Jasper called, and he sounded a bit tired. "Benton! Get this thing running! Those blasted escapees and Black squad killed most of our men!"
Benton smiled up at the cat. "Bout time..." he mumbled before turning to the back of the bus-like vehicle and shouting, "In here, now!"

The panda grinned softly and finished tapping in Suzumi's information, then set the scanner back in the pack. Her paw stayed on the scanner a moment, a troubled look flashing on her face for but a moment, then disappeared. She turned back to Suzumi and grinned. "Hehe it's alright, hun. If you'll follow me, I'll be taking you to the inn." She turned around and walked off to the exit, through the door, and down the hallway.

He led the pair down the surprisingly well-lit street to the first building on the right. It was bustling, with people walking in and out left and right. This was the outskirts of the city, and it looked even better furnished than the inner circle of Fnorgan and Triss. He led them inside and walked up the the counter, where an older mouse was speaking with a much younger female mink.
The mink seemed a bit irritated as they approached. "Allan, I've told you a thousand times, don't talk to the customers! You scare them!"
The mouse simply nodded and smiled, then turned to the approaching group and said, "Hullo thar! Would you be intrishted in renting a roon in dis fabulous playsh?" His smile seemed sincere, though he didn't appear to be looking at anyone in particular.
The mink shook her head and shooed him through another door behind the desk and returned to them. "I'm terribly sorry about that... Now then. Would you like to rent a room? We've been a bit busy as of late, but there are still a few rooms left. If you wish, I could take you upstairs to see them."
