http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/against-deletion-of-imvu-mature-products-from-user-accounts.html
I'm number 2393.
I don't really care about people whining about not getting their money back.
Mostly because of the T.O.S. they all agreed to.
I just find it asinine that they want to keep adults from having access to mature content.
-
I've signed... I just think that it seems crazy that people have to go through a lot to get an AP, pay for credits out of pocket, then realize that the item they may have wanted that's in the AP list has been removed. I say, as long as the item itself does not violate copyrights or is shown as General Public (if it has anything offensive to it), then it should be left as is.
-
I signed it, Hopefully it will catch their attention and let the items be. Specially if they have paid for it, Seems kind of unjust to remove something thats paid for.
-
They just need to moderate what gets put in the catalog.
It would probably be better that way. Then people wouldn't be able to have items that broke the T.O.S.
I know plenty of people have stickers that clearly violate the T.O.S. I wonder if those are getting deleted.
They could do it if they only approved new meshes instead of approving everything that got submitted.
Meaning that meshes that already existed got the go ahead. Then things could get flagged like normal if they broke the rules.
-
Some people are very flag-happy...
-
Sooooo they want to block it all out, rathure then do your job and keep a tighter watch? ???
Uhhh huh, guess it's a good way to screw people outa their money. Though if it does go they will probully loose tons of people.
-
I don't have an access pass(nor am I allowed to.. I'm only 15 :P), but I've heard a lot about this from friends of mine who do have it, and honestly.. you guys pay for it, you should get what you paid for. Like AR said, it's an easy way to "screw people outta their money", and also, like what Vosur had said, "some people are flag happy.."

Yeah, I was a bit confuses as well. Also, VARANUS65, please refrain from using all caps in your post.

Well, it's not such a sin on the forum to use all caps.
The message was on topic.
WELL LIFE GOSE ON SMILES SCALY HUGS TO ALL

Yep, life goes on.

I'm just going to play the devil's advocate a bit here and say that IMVU pretty much thinks that you shouldn't be buying these things anyway if you know they're going to get flagged.
..Regardless, I'm going to sign. It's unfair for people to lose their credits when IMVU just needs a better way to check what goes into the catalog.
Edit: I'm #3430.
-
I signed.
It's all rediculous.. and quite sexist also against males. For example: they take away the nude parts for a male, but the same for the female stays, and also other clothing items that could be worn for both genders that were the same exact product, only still available for girls now.
Isn't this also like the second time they've changed the TOS? At least that's what I hear, they need to make up their bloody minds :umm:
-
Maybe they should just leave those items that are AP-limited and make it tougher to get an Access Pass...
-
Adding another cent to the thoughts, I don't know why they even bother having an access pass if they are going to water down the content so much. I bet most people wouldn't buy a pass if they new up front what they 'aren't getting'. They should just do away with it all together if they continue to keep it as it is ; which is ending up confusing every one and making the adults feel gipped after they buy the pass.
-
I saw their 'rating system' and what they are trying to do is to make it more movie-based in the ratings... and unfortunately, if their "R" is that sexist (they allow full-body showing for females yet only 'butt' for males), that nieve (I've actually seen much worse "R" rated movies out there that are on the bottom spectrum of the whole "R-" rating)... then they are in for a very rude awakening when they see how many people they are going to tick off.
-
I know what you mean. IMVU should make their own definitions of ratings, not use movie standards. Not to mention PG-13 movies are even getting to be worse as time passes. PG-13's allow for butt shots, and if that's all males can show in IMVU, according to movie standards, the guys should be allowed to go nude. :snicker:
-
I say that pretty much if the person has an Access/Restricted Pass... they should be responsible fully for anything they buy. Actions/"Accessories"/Furniture/Clothing should not be disabled/removed due to the fact that it shows things that happen in real life, it should only be removed because it violates trademarks.
-
Agreed. The AP is supposed to virtually eliminate maturity restrictions, but it hardly does anything at all.
-
And something that makes it even more strange is that the reaction of the moderators/admin/staff of IMVU... If they are so bent on 'protecting the younger crowd'... then they need to work on how the Access/Restricted Pass is given out... not what inside of the AP-list Unsuitable for IMVU.
-
I thought the bug was that products set to mature were still able to be used.
-
I saw it, but the bug allowed "Unsuitable for IMVU" products to still be used and they just got rid of that.
-
I don't know if I should have made this a separate topic or not, but...
I just found out that Anshe's cuddle poses stopped working because they were made restricted. (I was a little late in finding out.) I think this is just ridiculous, because they were in no way obscene, and now Anshe is in deep for it because everyone thinks Anshe is responsible for it. :twitch: I feel bad because she/Anshe Chung Studios actually makes worthwhile meshes and stuff, and she/they doesnt deserve to have this brought down on her/them.
But I mean, my biggest issue with Anshe's poses being restricted is, IMVU makes it possible for even non-AP users to still do basic kisses and stuff, so how is merely hugging (albeit in a romantic way) any worse than kissing?
It's just not right... IMVU's going overboard. Next they'll be restricting everything but handshakes, just wait.
-
I saw it, but the bug allowed "Unsuitable for IMVU" products to still be used and they just got rid of that.
Don't talk about this bug. There is currently a bug in the flag system that they get atomaticly removed to mature if the product got flaged more than 1 time... I always thought that they look at the products and then remove them... ._. Eyes I made just got removed because I gave a person no credits and then she flagged my product x-times.
They need to have it manditory when an item is flagged, the 'flagging user' needs to put their username and the reason why they flagged the item... ((-Thinks for a moment-... I'll go put this in the IMVU Suggestion forums.))
-
I thought that was mandatory. ???
-
Hrm... the comment part is not. Though, the IMVU Staff aren't taking a longer look at the 'flags'.
-
Then yes, I agree the comment should be mandatory, not optional.
And very true, about what you said. IMVU needs to find an efficient rating system, and stick with it. Too many times have devs been ripped off by the flagging system unfairly. IMVU needs to have some respect for the developers that actually do follow the rules and are flagged unfairly. :umm:
-
Developers do have recoarse in the event an item has been unfairly removed.
This is their way of getting around spending time looking at each item that's flagged.
Basicaly if you don't respond to it they assume you don't mind.
So be active.
I'm not sure if it''s anonamous or not.
It says it is, but it says at the same time who is flagging it....
Don't talk about this bug.
Not in this thread anyhow. Start a new one.
-
I'll keep that part in mind... not sure if anything that I have would spark any sort of 'flag-happy' individuals... but none-of-the-less, worthwhile to know.
