Title: Thomas the Tank Engine
Post by: Edwolf on October 17, 2011, 10:23:20 PM
The reason I set this thread up is because this year (2011) marks the centenary of the Rev. Awdry's (Thomas' creator) birth although sadly, he died in 1997  :'( . Despite this, Thomas has appeared in books (in the shape of The Railway Series) since 1945 and has been on TV since 1984. And if anybody is a fan, talk about it here!

I loved Thomas the tank engine! Watched one of the newer cgi ones the other day just for giggles, and turns out it wasnt half bad. still has its charm.

I grew up watching Shining Time Station and Thomas and Friends videos as a kid, I remember Ringo Star and George Carlin were some of the narrators. My friend and I would play with the little plastic Thomas the Train toys he had, and we would play with our other toy trains for hours on end. I still like trains, and model trains. Kinda wish my mom hadn't gotten rid of my Thomas video tapes, oh well.
