So apparently November marks the beginning of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) http://www.nanowrimo.org/ (http://www.nanowrimo.org/)
To those who don't know, National Novel Writing Month is where one is given a month to write their own novel (50,000 words) and submit it before the month is up! Honestly it sounds kind of awesome to me, but I am unfortunately way too busy with school to even seriously consider it x_x
Alas and a-lack-a-day. Is anyone else going to give it a shot? Or has anyone else tried it before? Thoughts?

sounds like itd be an interesting endeavor. I dont have any ideas that would encompass 50k words otherwise I might give it a go.

The event is meant to celebrate creativity so it is mostly about just having fun writing. In that sense I suppose it is possible to create a 50k word novel in a month, but it still sounds pretty difficult! However, if I had more free time I would definitely give it a shot too!
I would love to have the satisfaction of saying "I wrote a novel!" XD

Plenty of ideas encompassing fifty-thousand words for me. But only problem is, I have a lot of stuff to prepare for this school year. I doubt I could get that done in a mere month, as even now, in free time, my novels are set aside for some practice and studying.
I always used to converse with my creative writing teacher about it, and it sounds way fun. But alas, real life gets in the way.

If only you could put life on pause XD Well there is always next year
-
Exactly. I intend to wait for life to slow down a bit before getting into it. Isn't it that you must write the novel only for th event in the allotted month? No work from before?
-
Well you can have a basic sort of outline and think a bit of everything out, but when you write it, it is all from scratch. I've realized though that it really is probably not going to get any easier to write this thing, but... Meh... Curse my indecisiveness x_x

I see. Then I already do have an idea that can be implemented next year! Hooray for past versus present!
-
Awesome (or pawsome)! XD What were you thinking of doing?

I had this idea to pitch a more primitive race against an extremely advanced one. The protagonists are the more primitive beings, but there's three different races on the planet. No, I didn't get the idea from Avatar. The planets races are Humans, anthros and Dragons; the aliens are advanced humanoids with simple transcendent technologies. They want the planet for a tactical advantage in a war, and it's truly easy prey. However, the more simple residents of the other planet stumble across something that lends them an upper hand.
I have the story all planned out; I'll have to make a better story web.

Cool idea! I wanted something along the lines of a floating city, social class conflict, and an anti-hero to tie it all up! Nothing too original, but I still like the thought XD
