Not one of my more favorite music styles, but there's always something out there to catch my ear.
-
Siouxsie & The Banshees.

I'm also a fan of Bauhaus, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Type O Negative (Gothic-Doom Metal), Cocteau Twins, The Cult, Deadsy, and a few other "goth" bands (that would probably fall under Post-Punk).

I gave it a listen, and definitely wouldn't put them in the same category as Type O Negative. Part of what I enjoy about Type O is how clear and jarringly-deep Peter Steele's voice can get. It's harder for me to get behind bands that combine death-esque growling with female operatic vocals.
I'm not saying that someone with goth sensibilities or music taste wouldn't listen to them (or Nightwish, etc.), I just don't get the same vibe that makes me enjoy Type O so much.

hmmm sounds good

Siouxsie and the Banshees - Arabian Knights (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP-ZUbSmkRM#)
(One of my favorite goth bands, was going to post Spellbound, but the video was a bit goofy.)
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart [HQ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI10KXw2jzo#)
(More post-punk than goth, but still enjoyable.)
The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary (Official Music Video) + Lyrics (HQ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I8mWG6HlmU#)
-
nice music, i didnt think the cult was gothic.
-
Type O Negative - Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare -All) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFwYJYl5GUQ#)
This definitely counts, AND it's related to Halloween.

My favorite genre by far...though I don't really have a favorite...guess I just enjoy this kind moar. Also, these bands listed are not explicitly goth, they're actually other genres that I personally feel have goth influence.
Nightwish
Evanescence (more rock)
Collide (trip hop plus goth)
Tool (a little rock)
The Birthday Massacre
A Perfect Circle (much more rock plus a little ambient)
Akira Yamaoka (ambient)
Deftones (metal)
In This Moment (rock)
Lacuna Coil (rock)
Hatsune Miku (yes I said it)
Malice Mizer
Mudvayne (metal)
Plumb (rock)
The Cruxshadows
Within Temptation

I'll agree on a few of those for goth influence (especially Cruxshadows). If you keep in mind that most goth is directly derived from post-punk, then you could apply that influence to an even larger variety of bands.

That's very true. :3
I could even apply it to some more on my mp3, I'm sure of it. I just need to look less at rock and more at post-punk like you said.
