Title: Redwall?
Post by: Sigcutio on September 23, 2011, 04:31:32 PM
Any Redwall fans around here? It's a great series! I discovered it about two years ago and I've now gone through nearly every book.

I read nearly every book when I was younger. I think that was actually one of my first indications of me being a furry, since I loved it so much. I've been thinking of going back and reading them again. I just don't have the time anymore.

Yeah I'm still working on reading them all, but now that summer's over it certainly is a lot tougher.  :/

Let's see... I'm on Rakkety Tam, which means I have another five books to go before I hit the last one.

Redwall was the first ever book I actually took the time to sit down and read out of my own free will. After that I was sent into a reading frenzy til the end of my high school years. Wonderful series. I read just about every Redwall book the library held.

Oh definitely a great series, Lizard. In fact I went through a similar reading frenzy at one point and tore through four of the books in two weeks!  XD

That was awesome!  ^_^

I like Redwall. I used to watch the TV show when it was on PBS.

I missed the show while it aired on PBS, but all the episodes are on youtube now so that was just as cool~

Ah. I see.

What's your opinion on the first book?

I thought it was pretty good, but it was sort of weird because you could tell he was still trying to establish the world the books were based on. It's interesting, but the later books in the series drew me in more.

Yeah.

You know, to this day, I am still amazed by Killconey the sex-changing ferret.

Yeah, I don't know what happened there  XD

That bugged me so much when I was reading.

I also remember Cluny mentioning 'skittles' at some point and that just made me giggle  ^_^

Redwall...
*melts*

You already know how much I love/Owe to Brian Jacques and the Redwall series (The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman and The Angel's Command are really good books, too  ^_^ )... Own every book but the new one... and read them frequently... Also my entrance to the furry fandom... xD

 :o :o :o
There was a series????
 :D

Must... go... watch... ^_^

I nearly read all the books in the series. Book number 22; "The rouge crew", I havent read yet... Its kinda disappointing for me to call myself a fan, yet I've not read all the books. T^T

Same here! I kinda don't want to finish reading all of them because then I know there won't be anymore  :S

Well. I feel the same way, but sometimes re-reading Redwall series, you see more then the first time you read it. I'l thinking of buying the whole series. Its a pretty good book.

But the Rogue Crew is fairly new, none of the libraries nearby has it yet, So I wont be able to finish the series for a while.

I've heard The Rogue Crew is great! I'm sure it will make for a great read when you finally find it! Right now I'm rereading Mossflower. Of all the protagonists, I feel like Martin is my favorite~ It's also refreshing not having Redwall Abbey around  XD

There's only a couple that doesnt have to do with Redwall abbey. But Mossflower is a good story... You'll understand the ending if you red the first book of the series.

What I love the most is how after reading Martin the Warrior, I have a whole a new perspective on the events of Mossflower! It's awesome!
