In the courtyard of the ASMA, the Acadmy's principal is finishing his speech. The date is September 1, 2015. "I would like to welcome all my students to the second year of the Academy for the Study of Supernatural and Miscellanious Abilities! Students may go to their respective dorms and find their rooms with the assistance of the group heads.. Furthermore, I hope for the best behavior out of you. Today is a day to situate, however, classes begin tomorrow at 8 am sharp!" The audience applauded loudly and Blair sighed to herself quietly.
"What a joke..." Blair walked off at the beginning of the last sentence, toward the Charm dorms. She was alone, until a group of students flooded over her, rushing to get to their rooms. It wasn't first come first serve, so she didn't see the point of rushing. She looked around, her pale face one of the few without fur or scales.
"Alright, students! Your rooms are posted on the walls, as are the rules!" Dawn yelled to the crowd of Arcana class. She rubbed her head. I should've taught science, they've got almost no one in there...
-
Rylo entered the huge room full of students, Ariving late he stood next to all the other teachers.
-
Nash stood with his back against a tree, not rushing to get to his dorm at all. He didn't care who he had to room with, it wasn't like they were gonna be buddies anyway. His dark eyes scanned the Academy's yard, and finally he decided to pick his book bag up and sling it over his shoulder. "I guess I'll go find a place to put my things, and then get some food." He said out loud to himself, sauntering off to the Fighter and Arcana dorm building. Upon entering he saw everyone looking at a sheet of paper posted on the wall, "oh, assigned rooms..." he thought. He made his way up to the board, and saw his name Nashayan Rio- Room 6. "6 it is...."
Katayida whistled loudly in the main hallway of the Charm and Science dorms to get the bustling students attention. "Alright everybody, listen here! As the principal said, classes start at 8AM SHARP. Do not be late! Your dorm rules, and regulations are listed on the walls, as well as emergency numbers. Everyone has an assigned room that you should have gotten on your schedule, and if anyone has any questions you can ask me." The grey mare folded her arms and leaned against the wall next to the bulletin board, and it wasn't long until the first student had a question about her class schedule.
-
Rylo looked at Katayida and has the curiousity of what she was teaching. He walked over to her. " Excuse me, Im new to this place, what are you teaching here?"
-
Blair looked at her schedule to see her room. She was in room 8, Charm dorm. Unlike the other students, she wasn't suprised that she had gotten into the higher dorm, hard work and some bribing always paid off. She walked through the prestigious hall to her room, walking in. It was about the size of an average bedroom, with two beds. On each of the beds was a card with the person's name on it. On the bed on the other side was a card labeled Lance. "What idiot decided to put a lady and a man in a room? This is simply ridiculous." She said quite loudly, sighing a bit and sitting on the bed and taking a checking book from her purse. She looked through her spending track, sighing a bit. She wasn't broke, however she had used most of her spending money to get in. She got up and walked out with her purse, pulling out her cell phone. "Father, get someone to drop off my bags in the front. Yes, I got into Charm dorm." She continued to the front, taking the suitcase in her hands from her father's attendent and walking back into the school after wiping off her dress.
-
Dingo waved goodbye to his mom as she drove away. "Jeez, cut the cord mom..." He thought, glad to finally be alone. He felt the bruise on his cheek, remembering the fight that scared his parents so much. "At least they finally agreed to let me go here." Looking around he noticed everyone in a rush, trying to find their dorms. "Great, missed the orientation." Checking his schedule he looked for his assigned dorm. Hoping for a new start, he prayed that this new crowd would be different.
After searching for thirty minutes, he was finally pointed in the right direction by a friendly teacher. Exhausted from hauling around his bags, he set them down inside his room, which was empty, and had a seat on one of the hard beds. The blinds were crooked, and the light slightly flickering. The walls were blank, and painted white. He unpacked his bag into one of the two dressers, and laid down on the naked bed to rest his arms.
-
Katayida eyed the black unicorn up and down. He looked mighty beat up, and she wasn't in the mood for socialization, "I teach the Charm classes, you know, Evasion and Defense, Agility and Damage Reduction, Endurance....and I think you're in the wrong dorm." She nodded her muzzle toward the doorway, "the Arcana and Fighter dorms are over that-a-way." Realizing her rudeness she held out her hand, "Sorry, I'm Kay. It's been a very long day, and I have a lot of students to get settled in tonight. What was your name?"
Nash walked into his assigned room, and noticed he had a roommate who was in there already, a lion, and he mostly unpacked. He threw his book bag onto the empty bed and sat down. He folded his hands together, closing his eyes, and taking a deep breath to fill his lungs, and let it out slowly. Getting back up he took his bag, and placed it onto the desk behind his bed, just eying his roommate to see if he would say anything to him.
-
Dingo, after watching his new room mate, finally spoke up. "The rooms look a lot different in the picture, dont they?" He asked laughing. "I've heard the Charm dorms are twice as large."
-
Rylo gave an understanding look. " My name is Rylo, nice to meet you, and thanks."
-
Nash looked at his roommate, his cold dark eyes fixated on his face, "I bet they are, the Charm dorms are for the high and mighty. My parents are rich, but I barely passed to get into this place." He huffed, "they would have done anything to get rid of me though." The white wolf looked down at the table and took his laptop out of his bag placing it onto the table and securing it with the lock provided by the school.
Katayida smiled at Rylo, "Nice to meet you as well, I'm sure we'll run into each other on campus another time."
-
Rylo smiled back." Yes, pretty sure we will." Rylo then walked to the other dorms.
-
Dingo continued to watch his room mate. He hadnt really made friends with a wolf before. Only a couple went to his old school. Remembering his desire for a new start, he introduced himself."Name's Dylan." The lion said. "But everyone calls me Dingo." Everyone being his small group of friends back home. He got up off his bed and fished out his ipod still zipped inside the bag that was hanging off the back of his desk chair.
-
Blair walked in with her suitcase, walking past everyone in the common room and going to her own room, looking around. "Hmm... The idiot hasn't arrived yet." She said quietly, beginning to unpack her 3 dresses into the dresser, and place her two notebooks in the top drawer with her undergarmets. She looked around and popped her head out of the door into the hallway, looking for the bathroom. She walked out and looked around, sighing a bit, before walking around to continue her search.
-
Nash smirked, "a lion called Dingo, eh mate?" He winked in a jesting manner. "I'm Nash. What are your classes?"
Katayida noticed a human girl looking a little lost, she smiled and stepped out to her, "Can I help you find something?" She tilted her head a bit and her forelock fell in the way of her eyes, she brushed it out of the way, looking for a response from the girl.
-
"Quite a trip isnt it?" Dingo asked with a slight laugh. "One of my friends back home thought I looked like a dog from the side. Guess the nickname just caught on." He dug back into his backpack to look for his schedule. After finding the right zipper, he pulled out the little white card. "Evasion and Defense, Singular Combat, Speed, and Basic Magic." He answered. "What about you?"
-
"Err... Yes.. I'm looking for the bathroom..." She chuckled a bit nervously, quite embarrassed. "You should be prepared to tell me at least a hundred times, I'm always losing my way around..." She looked up to the teacher quietly, waiting for the response.
-
Rylo stood and watched all the students find there rooms. He also studied all the other teachers.
-
Nash grinned, "that is pretty funny." Turning back to his laptop he looked at the schedule he had already scanned into his files. "Looks like I have Evasion and Defense, Singular Combat, Speed, and Basic Magic." He looked up at Dingo, "same as you." He yawned and stretched a bit back in his seat. "I'm starving, know anywhere to get some grub?"
Katayida smiled, and pointed to the left. "It's just down there to the left. You'll see it. The girls and boys are in separate hallways, so there's never any confusion."
-
"Yeah funny story actually, I wondered into the cafeteria looking for our dorms...It's not that far from here." Dingo said putting his schedule safely back in his backpack. "I've had nothing but potato chips for the past two days. Hope I get a legitimate meal for once."
-
"Ah.. Thank you!" She rushed into the bathroom, doing her business. She walked out a few minutes later, looking back to make a mental note that it was right there. Blair looked around the room, students running left and right, some walking slowly. She began her way back to her room and laid down on the bed tiredly.
-
Nash closed his laptop abruptly, "well lets go before we have some kind of curfew or something." He patted his backside to make sure his wallet was in his pocket. He turned to walk out of the dorm room, whether Dingo was coming or not was his own choice. Nash couldn't actually believe how easily he was getting along with his roommate, or at least surprisingly enough, he wasn't being a complete ass to him.
-
Dingo grabbed his jacket and ran out the door chasing after Nash. The sound of food made his stomach start to growl. "So far so good." He thought to himself. "Under an hour and I've already met someone. No more being a shy like I was at my old school. I'm here for a reason." He continued to himself. No more getting pushed around." He touched his face and felt the bruised cheek under his eye, which was thankfully hidden by his fur. He hoped that people here would be more tolerant. If not, he would have training to defend himself...but then again...so would everyone else.
After jogging for a bit he caught up to his new friend. "So Nash..." He said. "What's it like where youre from?"
-
Blair laid on the bed for a bit before she sighed and gripped her stomach in hunger. She got up with a soft grunt, fixed her hair, and wiped off any lint that had gotten on her dress. She grabbed her purse and left again, looking around for a cafeteria or food source. After spotting a lion and a wolf, she looked towards where they were headed. The cafeteria. Blair began to walk to it quietly, not making conversation with the other students. The wolf and lion were ahead of her, and she began to speed up. The cafeteria would probably already have a line, so she wanted to get her food quick.
-
Nash kept walking, not breaking his pace, or looking at Dingo. "It's...ritzy. I'm from upstate New York, and I'm not classy enough for my roots. I've been kicked out of schools for not having enough motivation, no drive to do anything, but that ain't all true. I just can't stand hoity-toity types. It's too fake." Nash sighed quietly, "other than that it's cold." He chuckled, "what about your home town?"
-
"Im from California, only about thirty miles from the beach. I live ontop of a hill with my mom in a small town home, and my dad doesnt live far in his apartment. I like my town...its small...quiet, and the weather is pretty nice too. And theres no dick surfer bro's who think their all that...thankfully I live far enough from the shore." Dingo said, pointing Nash in the right direction to the cafeteria building. "But I plan to ditch that state, some kids are so spoiled, rolling up to school in their parent's hundred thousand dollar car. What ever happened to working for something nice. Those stupid kids think their life is going to keep getting handed to them....Well not me."
As Dingo finished his sentence, he opened the door to the cafeteria for his friend, and the girl who was walking behind them.
-
Lance walked into the dorm, brushing his fiery hair out of his eyes. Moving to his room he threw his bags in the corner, barely noticing the delicate patterns woven around the room or the nameplates on the bed, he just took the unoccupied one and sat down. It had been a long day and he had missed the academy's introductory speech.
Long day. A long day of attending meetings as his fathers representative, talking business deals and buying companies. Presentations, proposals, petty private productions. In a way he was glad to escape to this small refuge in his busy life.
His muscles ached too, he had hit his limit the day before in his training régime.
After about a good ten minutes of winding down and relaxing, he decided it was best to pack his things away. Standing up, he flexed his wings and brushed down his suit before starting to place clothes and toiletries into his closet and drawers.
As he was doing this, his eye caught the bedside plaque which stated the name 'Blair'.
"Hmm, interesting."
-
Blair walked in and looked to the lion. "Thank you. However, I just wish to input to what you had said earlier. Just because someone has something nice, doesn't mean they never worked for it. Don't mix up having money and being a brat, there is a difference." She sighed a bit and continued in, looking back to the lion for a reply.
-
Nash walked through and then turned around, hearing the girl's comment with a cunning look on his face. "So you're saying that having money doesn't make one stuck up, then, eh?" He crossed his arms in front of his torso, and his curled his tail up inquisitively. Poor Dingo was caught in the crossfire and might learn of Nash's brattiness right there. Though his wasn't from having money, it was from his parents, his rich parents friends, and their snobbishness.
-
Rylo had saw that all the students he saw were in there Dorms. He took a breath, then walked into his own room, and started moving things around.
-
"Of course. It can lead to it, however it isn't the sole key to being spoiled. Things like thinking your above another would be more likely. It was nice talking to you, however I think I'm going to get my food now.. It's cold out. See you two later!" She said before she walkedto the line, after a short time the line thinned and she had gotten her food and paid for it. A slice of pizza and a salad, accompanied by a water. She looked down at the greasy meal and walked back to her dorm, opening the door. To a slight surprise, her roommate had arrived. "Somebody's late~ Ya hungry?"
-
"Guess I got put in my place, huh?" Dingo said to Nash as they both stood in the short line. "Maybe it's the ladies I should be more concerned about."
He handed the lady behind the cash register some money, and ordered some pizza which looked delicious after the girl from earlier walked out with some. "She was right though." He continued. " Just because some kids are brats with their parent's money, doesnt mean all are. Its a bad stereotype, aint it?"
-
Lance began to make his room a bit more 'him'. He placed a few posters up on his side, taking out an old cd player, he stuck on some sounds from when he was younger. He moved with the beat slightly, finishing packing and 'lancifying' his room. He unbuttoned his suit jacket and laid it across the bed. going to the en-suite bathrooms in the dorm to have a shower before he mingled.
He was stopped however at the offer of food. He chuckled slightly
"Hm, it depends. what's on offer?" His voice was low and gruff, but not unkind. Turning to face Blair, he gave her a small smile.
-
"Well, I've got a slice of pizza and salad.. You can have the pizza, I can't stomach it. But I've only one plate." She laughed a bit, and sat on her bed. She gave him the piece with two napkins to hold it with, smiling a bit. "I also want to talk to you about how you'll be living with me.. And assert my privacy. First, if I find you going through my drawers, I'll kill you. If you peek while I'm changing, I'll kill you again. I also want to see if we've any classes together."
-
Lance took the pizza from Blair, thanking her and chuckled again
"I understand your caution miss, but I assure you it's unnecessary. I have no desire to do either of those things". He sat on the edge of the bed and took a small bite "Also I'd like to introduce myself properly, I'm Lance Smith. Under other circumstaces I'd shake your hand, but I'm sure you don't want grease all over you.
Taking another bit out of his pizza, he chewed and swallowed before replying "I'll admit I'm not sure what classes I have yet, I'm afraid I haven't checked the schedule as of this moment. "
-
"Guys tend to follow an awful profile. Saying you've no desire is at least a bit dishonest." She laughed a bit and looked to him again. "I'm Blair Avery. Hopefully you haven't heard any of those rumors, most aren't completely true.. And on the subject of classes why not check them now? We're both in Charm, so our classes can't be too different.. And while you're at it, tell me your ability style, if you have one." She mused a bit, laughing softly at the end of her sentence.
-
Lance looked across to her and laughed a bit too "Well okay, let me rephrase. I have no desire to encroach upon your privacy. Is that satisfactory?" He listened to her introduction, taking small nibbles of the pizza.
"I'm afraid I have not heard the rumours no, I don't tend to rely on whisperings and playground trivia to keep myself informed. I normally just deal in facts.
When she mentioned classes again, he got up and checked the leaflet on his bed, flicking through the obligatory orientation and welcome to get to the classes "ah here we are; class number one, Classical Magic. Well that's good. Erm, Class number two, Singular Combat, okay, interesting. Class number three, Agility and Damage reduction, Finally class number four. Endurance. Hmm pretty good schedule I'd say." At the last part he grew pensive, stroking the bit of stubble that had edged it's way onto his chin
"I guess I'd have to say Arcana, If anything. I'm not too sure. I guess I'll find out. Anyway what about you?"
-
"That's better~" She laughed again and listened as he spoke. She continued to eat her salad as he spoke. "My classes match yours," She laughed a bit as he told her more. She grinned to him as he mentioned his preference. "I am going reflector. Basically, if I get skilled enough, I'll be able to reflect any Arcana abilities, and dodge physical ones, maybe even weaken others to the point where they can't stand. As lame as it sounds, I am to master Charm skills. Might be a bit crazy, but I can already reflect a lot of attacks~ However, I also want to learn some methods of light Arcana styles. Not a lot, but it's always useful."
-
He grinned as she mentioned her preference "Hmm, that fits I guess". He finished his pizza " My parents tended to keep me busier in the matters of business and suchlike, rather than my 'abilities' So I feel I may be a tad under developed in that respect." Wiping his hands on the napkins, he walked over to the bin and dropped them in, thanking her again for the food.
"My preference has always been for dark Arcana, sounds a bit cliché, but I guess I cant help it sometimes." after a few seconds of quiet contemplation, he asked "So you met any other students? I haven't had the chance yet"
-
"When your father is almost always getting targeted, he wants you to be prepared. I don't think you're under developed, I think I'm just over developed. But I'm not exactly good at my abilities, just good enough to score a 5." She grinned almost devilishly. "To be honest, Dark Arcana scares me.. From what I've read, it uses mind tricks and whispers to mentally damage a person.. Just be thankful you didn't get into Arcana dorm.. They've got the worst facilities of all classes, as the government still doesn't believe in it. But we still got a teacher so it's all good~"
-
Lance nodded thoughtfully, sitting back down on the bed "Well I suppose that's a good reason to focus upon your abilities." He listened to her, nodding occasionally
"Well you're already leagues ahead of me, as I could only get a 3, to be fair I got a little confused in the test. As for Dark Arcana. I can understand every body's trepidation with such things, not something to be easily trifled with. All about deception and trickery. I guess you could say I have a sort of morbid interest in the matter. Yes I heard about the division between the two. Such a shame."
He nodded at the teacher comment, then stood up, stretching his wings before relaxing
"Sorry." He said lightly, indicating his wings " They get stiff and achy if I don't stretch them every now and then."
-
"Well... There are other students in Charm, I'm sure they can kick me down with ease... If you can negate offenses, I'm sure my defenses can be negated as well.. Don't take this to heart, its just a rumor, but I hear students in the Science dorm learn all types of negation methods in their physics class.. But then again, I've yet to even see their dorm and teacher.. It's quite mysterious...." She thought again with a murmur. "Well I hope it's not true.."
-
"Agreed, Well I suppose every type will have weaknesses and strengths, I suppose that's why it'd be important to be proficient in more than one. Yes the science dorm does seem to be shrouded in mystery. Perhaps we will learn more as the days progress." He walked over to his bed and picked up his suit jacket, hanging it up in the wardrobe
"Who knows really, this entire thing is pretty new if were honest. I mean we have teachers that are barely older than we are."
He paused for a second as he grabbed a few clothes and turned back around
"I mean I know this place is prestigious and all, but I've heard next to nothing about it. They definitely play their cards close to their chest....Look I'm just gonna change into something less...restrictive if that's okay?" he moved towards the en-suite and closed the door.
Once Lance was in the bathroom, he brushed his hair out of his face and began to take off his tie and unbutton his shirt, showing his powerful muscles. He stripped down to his underwear and , then began to put on some grey jogger pants and a black vest.
-
"Of course, of course..." She murmurred softly, listening to him go into the small room. A loud knock on the door made Blair raise her head up, and she walked over to answer it.
"Miss Avery? Your father sent you this."
A man heaved in a large luggage case, and made Blair sigh softly. "Ah, yes. Seems I forgot that... Let me tip you for the labor." She went to her purse and took out a twenty dollar bill, smiling to him kindly as she handed it to him. "Have a nice day, and thank you!~ She closed the door and dragged the heavy case to the side of her bed, panting a bit. "Darn mother of mine.. Always over filling it with luxuries..." She mumbled opening it to see it was full of beauty products, clothing, a blanket, and two pillows. "I don't even use this much make up!!" She yelled, holding up a large box in dismay.
-
Finishing up getting changed, he came back out of the bathroom to see the new addition to the room and hear Blair's protest, stifling a chuckle, he placed his clothes in the drawers carefully before turning around and observing the scene before him
"Bringing some more home comforts eh?" He laughed at little at her dismay "Well at least you wont run out any time soon"
Flopping down on his bed, he sighed "cant believe it but. I'm actually looking forward to class tomorrow. So what do you think about all the secrecy? Maybe we should see if there's any students to mingle with if you're up for it."
-
"I had purposely forgotten most of this... This is my dad's antics.. The only use of jewelry is to get stolen.." She said as she looked at a silver necklace with an onyx pendant. She took the box of make up and took out three different types, putting them in her drawer and hiding the box under the bed. From the luggage, she pulled out a large and frilly dress, blushing madly. It had red and white lace, and was almost nothing like her current simple black dress. She folded it carefully and hid it in the bottom drawer. After doing so, she pulled out a suit partially before shoving it back in in embarrassment. Under it were more male fitting clothes. She pulled out the blanket and pillows, quickly slamming the luggage shut and hiding it behind her bed. She looked to Lance, her face still deep red. "If you saw anything, you'd better not tell a soul or I'll kill you! Those bags get the same rules as my drawers..." She looked at her pajamas, getting her shampoo, soaps, and pajamas. She walked to the room's bathroom, shutting the door and locking it, turning on the shower.
-
Rylo had finnished organizing everything for a perfect office and slumber. He stopped to look at the glass chamber with his old battle armor inside standing up for decoration. Rylo thought about the memorys back when he was in that armor.
-
Nash scoffed, "Don't worry about the dames here." He followed Dingo in the line getting two slices of pizza and paying the lady at the register. "It could be a stereotype, but all stereotypes come from the truth somewhere along the lines." He walked over to a table and sat down, "I mean, every stereotype has to have an origin, like a hypothesis, if you think about it in scientific terms." He said to Dingo taking in a mouth full of pizza.
-
Dingo dabbed the grease off his pizza with a napkin, then tossed the dripping piece of paper into the trash can next to them. "You're right about that, but it's not fair to the innocent people who get labeled when in reality they're nothing like that." He took a few bites out of his pizza, took a drink, and then looked back across the table at Nash, leaning in a little. "She was cute though, huh?" He said grinning. He leaned back out to take another bite. Knowing it's not polite to talk with your mouth full, he continued anyway. "Hope we run into her again. What do you say we go wander around for a while after this?"
-
Rylo had stared too long at his armor, he moved away from it and went to his weapon collection on the wall, and always had his eye on two of his most charist swords. He graabbed both of them, and gripped the handles, he looked at them and took causion to not press a buttin inprinted on the front end of the handles. He started swinging them, and began to get carried away from reality, and fought like he always had fought back in the day, tho nobody was there, it was all in his head. He swang them and used them like a professional, like a master, only better. He sliced across, when then he heard a bound on the floor, and many things with it. He looked and saw he had cut his room up."hhuuuurh damn.." Rylo started picking things up.
-
Blair walked out of the bathroom, hair tied up in a ponytail. Her pajamas were shorts and a tank top, which, unlike her normal dresses, showed her body's feminism. She walked to her bed and took out the luggage, rummaging for something. She took out a small stuffed animal with a tag tied to it's leg. She read out loud on accident, meaning to read it to herself. "Knew you'd want this.. Your mother wants you to wear the huge dress tomorrow.. I'd prefer if you wore the suit. Much love." She blushed a bit at her habit of reading aloud. She placed the bear aside and pulled out the suit's top, holding it up. It wasn't too expensive, for a suit, anyway. To her relief, it didn't have shoulder pads. She made another look of dismay and put it back in the luggage, tucking it back and laying down, resting her head on a pillow and pulling the blanket up. "I'm going to sleep now... Good night.." She said softly, hugging her stuffed animal and quickly falling asleep.
-
Lance hadn't been tempted to look in her bags while she was getting changed, he didn't want to risk losing a possibly good friendship in this place. Laid back on his bed, he switched the music off on his cd player and nodded and smiled at Blair as she came back out of the bathroom, he couldn't help but notice her feminine body.
He forced himself to look elsewhere, listening to her read aloud, he didn't really know what to say to it so he kept quiet
"Yeah...g'night".
Lance laid there, awake for a good few hours contemplating his situation before fatigue finally took him.
-
Nash stuffed the rest of his pizza in his mouth like he hadn't eaten in days. A voracious appetite was pretty common for a growing wolf, but this sure wasn't healthy. He gulped down some of his soda and belched covering his mouth with a balled fist, "Ehh, not really my type, but yeah, I guess she was kinda cute." Looking around he noticed a trash can within reach and leaned his chair back a bit and just dumped empty tray onto it. "You'd think they'd recycle here..." That was an offbeat comment, Nash, he thought. He looked at his watch, and it read 9:45pm. "I thought I read something about an 11pm lights out...I still got a little bit of unpacking to do, wanna just head back to the dorm? We can wander tomorrow after our classes are over." He looked at Dingo, not wanting to rush him too much, so he sat casually with his hands folded.
-
Dingo looked over at the windows of the cafeteria, unaware of how dark it had grown outside. "I suppose your right." he said to Nash. "Lets go finish packing and get some rest, tomorrow is gonna be one heck of a crazy day."After devouring the crust of his pizza, he stacked his tray on top of the trash can and rose to his feet. Nash got up after him and followed him as they walked towards the door. Suddenly feeling exhausted after a satisfying meal, they stepped out into the chilly night air. Dingo zipped up his jacket a tad higher and stuffed his paws in his pockets. The crickets in the grass around them filled the silence as they approached their dorms, and a keen ear could even hear some owls out in the distant forest. Opening the door Dingo quickly unzipped his jacket, took of his shirt, and flopped onto his bed. He gave forth a drawn out yawn as his sleepiness struck him like lightning. "See ya in the mornin bud. Was a pleasure getting to know you today." He turned over in his bed facing the wall, with an ear perked up waiting for his friend's response.
-
"Unpacking can wait." Nash yawned audibly, and took off his shirt and pants, only left in his boxers which is how he usually slept. "I'm setting my alarm for 7 so we have enough time to get ready for class. G'Night." He rolled over onto his side facing the wall, curling his tail over his left leg. It was kind of a comfort thing he did, for security, or whatever. The morning would come early, but sleep never came easy for this wolf. His thoughts taunted him, and he wondered what it would be like during his first day of classes. Some time later after his thoughts just turned into a solid line, he was totally unconscious, and snoring softly.
-
Blair got up from the bed at 6am, tired and groggy. She grunted softly and pulled out her luggage again, taking out her hair products and brush, as well as her flat iron. She moved them into the bathroom and took the suit out of the luggage. "Either be a Tom or be a Princess.. I pick Tom, anyday..." She laughed to herself, taking the suit to the bathroom. She put it on, except the tie. She left the tie on her bed, and kept a t-shirt under the dress shirt. She didn't tuck in the shirt, and the jacket hung over it casually. The way she wore it, it looked less like a suit and more like a school uniform with a jacket. She even put on street shoes, which were cheaper and more durable, yet still related to the dress shoe. She struggled with her hair for a bit, just focusing on getting it to lay flat. The result was Blair looking like a slightly feminine male, partially the fault of the bangs of her hair hanging down in the middle of her face, while her eyes weren't blocked by any of her blond locks. At about 7:30, she went into the main room and vacated the bathroom, looking to her room mate. "Wake up, class starts in about half an hour." She said to him at a normal voice, beginning to look for her bag of notebooks.
-
Lance stirred slowly. Rubbing his eyes and yawning lightly before jumping out of bed, he forsook his morning exercises due to the timeframe they were in. Opening the cupboard he took a few things out; toothpaste, hair wax, toothbrush and a bottle of mouthwash. he grabbed some training clothes too, designed for flexibility and comfort. They consisted of a tight vest and some baggy cargo pants with boots, not fashionable. But practical.
Moving to the bathroom he looked into the mirror, his eyes widened slightly at the mess his mane had become, it reminded him somewhat of a firework explosion. Using the wax he managed to mould it into a similar style it was the day before, swept back with a flick. He began to get dressed and brush his teeth.
After his teeth were done. He came back out and met with Blair "alright shall we get going?"
-
The alarm rang too early for Nash, as his thoughts had probably kept him up for at least an hour after he had laid down to sleep. He groaned and rolled over, sitting up slowly, rubbing his ears back and forth. He rose from the bed and nudged Dingo in the shoulder with his knee, "rise and shine!" he said with a big toothy sarcastic grin.
After that Nash grabbed a towel, some body wash, and a toothbrush from his duffel bag, and headed for the showers. The bold white wolf returned to the room 15 minutes later with just a towel wrapped around his waist. He hadn't seen any females in the fighter dorms anyway, so why did he care. He put on a fresh pair of boxer briefs, and then some training pants which were designed tightly at the waist, and loose in the hip to knee area, cutting off again with the same thick banded elastic design to keep them in place just above his bulging calf muscles. He then wrapped his feet, ankles, and wrists, in off-white wrap.
He didn't know what they would be doing today but he did know that he always needed extra support in those areas of his body. He wasn't the most flexible beast, but he was strong and fast. He moved to his duffel bag again, shuffling some things around and pulled out a tank top, and pulled it over his head followed by a light weight sports jacket that he just threw over his shoulder.
Katayida rose at 6am to be sure that she was ready for her day, "Okay, lesson plan for each class: check! Coffee: check! Keys: check! Good to go!" It wasn't Kay's first time teaching by any means, and she had experience dealing with students of all different ages and backgrounds. Confidently she strolled into her first classroom around 7:30am, where she would be teaching Evasion and Defense.
She sat her brief case onto the table at the front of the classroom. Classrooms weren't exactly her setting, but they were an essential part of student learning. Turning around she wrote on the white board with black dry erase marker:
Professor Kay
Evasion and Defense
Then she took her list of students out of the case, she'd be doing a roll-call soon enough. It was about 7:50, and 6 of her 17 students had already arrived, and taken their seats quietly.
-
Dingo laid unhappily in his bed staring at the ceiling, not too thrilled as usual, to have someone or something disturb his slumber. When Nash returned from the showers he grabbed his towel and squeezed by him out the door. After a quick shower he returned to the room and opened the drawers where he filed away his clothes for the day. He pulled out some loose gym shorts, a fresh pair of boxers, and a tank top. He quickly slipped into his clothes and sat down on the bed, still attempting to dry off his mane with the towel. He stretched out his arms and legs, and plopped back on the bed.
"How much time do we have, Nash?" He asked, staring at the ceiling again.
-
Nash rubbed the back of his head, his still damp fur getting fluffed about. "About 20 minutes, but we should probably leave the room now, at least this morning...cause I dunno where the classroom is....." he stared blankly back at Dingo, really hoping that he did know. Nash knew his parents sent him here because they wanted him to "channel his aggression for something good," but he really knew it was just because they wanted him away and out of the house. As hard as Nash appeared on the outside he really didn't like disappointing his parents, but their lifestyle just wasn't his lifestyle.
-
Dingo let out a low pitch growl and then rose to his feet. He dug into his bag to find his schedule again. "Room 205." He said stuffing it back inside, and then looking up at Nash. "Thats not that far from here, if I remember correctly. Ill try not to get us lost." He walked out the door into the hallway which was noisy and crowded with people. He made sure Nash was right behind him, and he proceeded out into the traffic. It took a few minutes for them to reach the main doors, but once outside they were greeted by a breath of fresh morning air. The sun hung just over the horizon, and the slight breezes kicked up leaves at their feet. Dingo took a second to take in the scenery, then continued to lead Nash towards the 200 wing.
-
Nash followed Dingo closely, and before he knew it they were at the 200 wing of the building. "There it is." He pointed to the room they were to go to, arriving about 10 minutes early. "Sorry, we're early, but at least we know how long we can waste time in the morning before class now." He looked up to the front board and read "Professor Kay" before he was distracted by another student who was passing by him and had bumped his chair. He blew air out of his nose forcefully, but didn't let it go any further.
About 3 minutes until class was due to start a female anthro horse walked through the door and closed it behind her loudly. "Welcome to Evasion and Defense, students, my name is Professor Kay, and I will be your instructor throughout this course. You will do as I say, or I'll make you do endurance work, just for fun." she smiled and shrugged her shoulders up, hoping that she was letting her students know a bit of her personality, and teaching style. "I have some handouts for you today, and we're going to go over the basics of evasion and defense. First I would like to do a roll call to see who is here."
Nash looked over at Dingo and rolled his eyes, "I wrapped my damn hands up for nothin', shoulda known..." He reached over and pulled a green folder out of his book bag and put it on his desk. His ears perked up when he heard his name be called, "Nashayan Rio?" "It's Nash" he replied, looking back up at his teacher.
Kay checked his name and wrote "Nash" next to it, as she had been for other students in her class. It seemed they were in no specific order, which was annoying, and she would correct on her computer once she got home for the day.
-
Blair dragged Lance to the first class, Classic Magic. She looked to the teacher and laughed a bit nervously, late by a minute or two. "I'm sorry ma'am!" She said in her normal female voice, making some people take second glances at her. She looked around the classroom, which was filled with men. There were only 3 seats, all on different corners of the room. She sighed and took her seat, Lance taking the semi near one.
"It's perfectly fine. I have yet to start roll. Don't do it again.. Now, I shall be calling Charm students first as we've no Science students." Dawn said softly, looking to her room of quiet and focused children. She grinned a bit. Perfect, without training. "Luis Adams."
"Here."
"Blair Avery." Blair raised her hand quietly after her name was called, and Dawn looked at the roll sheet she had organized herself, and back at Blair at least three times. "I'm sorry... Miss..? But female students are supposed to be in the Elemental course."
"That's too bad, then. I'm staying in this class. And yes, I am a young lady, not a young man. I just chose to dress in this manor for my first day." She said a bit viligantly, a few outbursts of laughter coming from the students. She continued with her roll list, frustrated at the new student. After she was done, she began to pass out her tests, giving them to each student silently.
"Today each of you will take this test of wisdom. It will tell me if I find you suitable for classic magic, or if I should send you back to Basic. Silence, or you'll be kicked from the Arcana courses alltogether. You may begin." She said loudly, sitting in her own desk and reading her book while the students took the test.
-
"Well maybe you didnt wrap them up for nothing..." Dingo whispered to Nash as he leaned in close. "That kid's been giving you the snake eye since he sat down." Dingo did a quick head movement, signaling for Nash to look to the other side of the room. The stalky wolf who bumped his chair sat glaring at them both.
"Dylan Corbin?" The teacher asked loudly. "Here!" Dingo answered matching her voice. He leaned back in instantly and whispered to Nash, "I don't know if you know this guy or not...but whatever goes on, try to stay out of trouble okay? I'de rather we make friends, not enemies."
He leaned out, as if wanting to end the conversation, and patiently awaited the teachers next words.
-
Nash leaned back over covering his mouth a bit, "Then don't point trouble out to me, Ding-bat." It was true that Nash hadn't noticed the other wolf who was glaring at them until Dingo pointed it out to him, but he would keep an eye on him for sure now.
"Ahem" Kay placed her hands on her hips looking sternly at the the two of her students who kept talking, "As I was saying, we're going to be doing some basic things today since it's the first day of class. Here is a class syllabus, a form that I would like you to fill out with your information, your aspirations, what you would like to learn from this class, and why you're here at the school." She handed out the packet syllabus, and the single paged "getting to know you" form to her class.
Nash took out his pencil and started to fill out the information section which was all basics: Name, Age, Home State. He left the part for aspirations blank, because he really didn't know what he wanted to be or do with whatever he was going to learn at this school, but he could BS enough to fill out what he wanted to learn from the class and why he was at the school.
-
Dingo worked out his paperwork quietly, not wanting to upset the teacher any further. He finished early as he did not have much to write, and sat his head on the pads of his paw as he leaned on his arm, yawning sleepily as he tried to focus and wake up. However he thought of something as he started to day dream. He turned back to the aspirations section and thought again for a moment, then started to write. He dropped his pencil and looked down at what he had written, and read, "To make something out of myself." He gave the worlds slightest smile, happy with what he wanted for himself. He sat back in his chair and crossed his arms, waiting for someone to speak.
-
As her class was filling out their paperwork Katayida was drawing rough sketch figures in a fighting stance on the white board. When she was done she turned around and spoke, "Before you leave class please place your information papers face down on my desk." She moved back from the drawings on the white board so all of her class could see them. "Now, these two figures are representing fighters, both are in a defensive stance because of where their feet are placed, and where their arms and hands are placed. Notice that on Figure A," she pointed to the top figure to the right, "their right foot is behind, and their left foot is forward and there is a slight bend in their hips and knees. Their arms are also up and in front of their body to protect the upper regions. This is very important in defense. Blocking your opponents attacks is one of the many ways that you will be able to keep your endurance up, your agility up, and of course, if you're not hurting from getting hit too many times, you will be able to evade your opponents attacks." Kay drew an arrow from the lower figure's right hand to the top figures facial area. "Lets pretend that Figure B decides to throw a punch at Figure A. What are Figure A's options?" She looked around at her class to see if anyone had any answers.
Nash wasn't paying attention, just scribbling in his notebook, this class was going to be too basic for him. He sighed heavily and leaned his mass over onto his desk and continued to scribble.
-
Kay stared blankly back at the class, disappointed no one had volunteered. She scanned across the room and finally picked on a victim. Dingo knew what figure A's options were, he just didnt want to impose on the class that he was a know-it-all, and he assumed everyone else felt the same way. "You, Mr. Corbin." She said, looking at Dingo. He sat up in his chair and cleared his throat a little bit, and answered, "He can dodge, block, or counter." He glanced out of the corner of his eyes to make sure no one was giving him any weird looks.
-
Rylo got up from sleep, and stared blankily. He stood up, and put on his robe and made hot tea. He limberd up and stretched his body. Then he walked out and entered his class room arena. He sat down and drank his tea.
-
"That is correct" Katayida said and turned back to the white board. "Lets say that Figure A decides to block this attack. How would Figure A block the attack?" She asked her class, a lean Cheetah who was sitting in the side front of the class room shot his hand up in the air, "forearms, or hands" he said confidently. "That is correct." Katayida said nodding and capped her marker placing it back on the ledge of the white board. She walked back over to her desk and grabbed some papers. "This is the last thing I will have you do before class will be dismissed for the day, it's an introductory quiz so I know exactly how much you know about evasion and defense. I expect it will take you about 15-20 minutes to fill out properly, as most answers are written. Tomorrow we will meet out in the front field and we will work on some basic defensive techniques one on one." She passed out the papers individually to each student.
Nash yawned and stretched his body back in his seat still kind of sleepy from the morning and then not paying attention during the really basic lecture they just got. Rubbing his right eye as he held the paper he just got handed in his left hand looking at it sleepily. It was filled with questions like have you been in a fight before, did you win or lose, did you use any defensive techniques, if so what were they, what is defense, what is evasion, and so forth. He wrote his answers out and about 17 minutes later he was finished. He walked up and sat the introduction paper face down on the desk like the teacher had asked and handed her his quiz. "I hope tomorrow is more exciting" he said to her in a snide tone. However, she ignored him and kept collecting the quizzes.
-
Dawn opened her book to a page, and looked to the class. "We have about 15 minutes left, so I am going to explain the most popular theories on the origin of Dark and Light magic." She said softly, standing in front. "In the world of Classic Magic, there are many different styles. The most used are the Eastern and Western styles. Attributes are not styles, they're classifications. Is that clear?" The class nodded quietly, and Dawn smiled a bit. "Eastern styles originate from Asian cultures, China, India, and Japan being the most known. Eastern styled Dark magic is the best known form of Dark magic. It is basically the conversion of the lack of light energy, or darkness, into energy, which as you should've learned before, we call mana. Now, mana is both your weapon and shield in magic. However, to use it, you must have full focus on what you're doing, now let me continue with attributed. Eastern Dark magic often uses one's fear as a key to defeating the openent. Western Light magic, which was developed in Europe, embraces the abilities of using light energy to heal and add to others' skills. However, light magic can also be used for offense, which we will learn later. However, before you leave, you must remember if you choose an attribute, certain laws apply. In the case of Dark and Light, you can only learn one. Elemental limits will be taught in the Elemental course, however a person may learn basic Elemetal and basic Classical skills. Advanced magics are only able to people who either pick to reside in one field of magic. You are dismissed." She said softly, letting the class get up and noisely leave as she sat at her desk to begin the process of grading papers.
"Hmm... Interesting, yet boring." Blair said to herself quietly. She got up and brushed off the suit coat, grabbing the backpack she had taken in the morning. As she was walking out, the teacher stopped her.
"Please do not be late again, Miss Avery. This course is meant to be for men and women that have previously learned elemental magic., however, I will permit you to take it if that is your choice. Furthermore, if you ever wish to switch to elemental, I will help you." Blair nodded quietly and waved silently as she walked from the room alone, leaving Lance behind. She began to her next class, Singular Combat, still dressed and looking like a male.
-
Rylo sat and waited for the students to come.
-
Dingo worked on his quiz quietly as he answered the questions to the best of his ability. When he finished he put his pencil down and walked the paper up to the teachers desk. After handing it to her he went over to Nash. "Any idea where our next class is?" He asked.
-
Nash looked back at Dingo, "Uhh...It's Singular Combat....so I assume that it's got to be in some kind of arena or gym....we really need to find a map." Nash looked around the hallway and spotted something down at the end of the hall that looked like a map. He ran and grabbed one and then came back to where Dingo was. "I think it's in the arena.....here!" He pointed to a part of the map that was a sparring arena, but was indoors like a gym, next to an outdoor sparring arena. "Maybe I didn't wrap my hands for nothing after all!" he said with a grin and letting his tongue hang out a bit to the side excitedly. "Let's go!"
Katayida stacked and collected her classes quizzes and getting to know you information papers. She had a little bit of time before teaching her next classes so she elected to read over the getting to know you papers from her first class, and then prepare for her second and third classes since they would be in succession to one another later in the day.
-
Blair walked rather slowly, tiredly rubbing her eye. She looked around, noticing that the school's halls were primarily filled with men. She continued on her way the Arena. She grinned at the idea of being able to show her dodge abilities off, what she was most proud of and skilled at. However, it probably wouldn't get her a good grade, due to the fact singular combat is an offensive class. She disregarded this, and walked into a bathroom. She looked in the mirror, examining herself. "My my, don't you look like a gentleman~? Little prissy one at that, too! She joked to her reflection, laughing lightly, sighing after it. She used the restroom and walked into the arena for singular combat silently afterwards.
-
Rylo saw Blair walk in, and a few other students. He waited for the rest and drank the rest of his tea.
-
"Heh, thats if we even get to fight today. Until we find out for sure you better stick that tongue back in your mouth." Dingo said giving Nash a friendly bonk on the back of the noggin. They walked together to their next class. He opened the doors to the arena as they were greeted by a cool breeze of air. Dingo looked around the building which was made of solid stone. Just the feel of the environment gave him a feeling that this class was going to be challenging for him. However, it gave him a rush of butterflies in his stomach as he imagined sparring with other students. Having nearly nothing but natural instincts and street fights as experience, he kept himself calm. At least he appeared that way on the outside.
-
Rylo got up and walked over to the students, giving a slight glare. " Hello, My name is Rylo, And I will be your combat teacher. He said in a serious tone. I will mostly perfect you into close quarters combat, mostly in advanced with swords. I can teach you how to master and have full control connected from your own cortex to your reflexes. I can teach you to many ways to dislocate your oponment at any area. But, for a start through this year, we will have to do the basics. Form a line, today I want to see what you can do.
-
Blair walked to the third spot in line, grinning quite widely. She took off her street shoes in preparation, beginning to calm herself. She looked behind her. "So which idiot shall I be dancing around today?~" She grinned charismatically, quite excited. She wasn't wearing proper fighting clothing, but her agility would always back her up.
-
When Dingo opened the doors to the arena Nash felt his adrenalin begin to pump through his veins. This was his blood, and he licked his chops and rubbed his hands together like a hunger had built in him an he was standing in a feral state over a fresh kill. His eyes blacked out, and his pupils widened. He started doing some warm up jumping jacks, stretching his back, neck, and shoulders out. The white wolf looked at his fellow classmates, and scanned them all up and down while listening to his teacher talk about swords, and then basics. He was ready for anything. Getting in line he said, "Let's do this!"
-
Rylo walked back and fourth across the line with his hands behind his back, speaking with a tone of deep seriousness. " You will each have an aponment, simple and basic, we will have one stand on the red side of the small arena, and the other on the blue side. For who ever loses will be put in the back of the line, and a new aponment shal come. You shal begin fighting with the sound of the bell. I expect you to use some defense, because if you cant defend yourself and only use offense the whole time, you will fall, because full offense will blind you. Its best you limber up while you are in line." Rylo pointed at the 1st two in line. " You two, your up!"
-
Dingo knew he would regret standing in the front of the line. Worst of all he had to fight Nash, who was right behind him. He walked forward hesitantly and took his place on the blue side of the arena. He cracked his neck and knuckles, and stretched his arms, legs, and back. He looked at Nash and couldn't help but smile a little. He beckoned him over with some sarcasm, but after that his mood changed into seriousness, feeling he had something to prove, and that he did.
-
Nash looked at Dingo, his primal fighting instincts taking over his body, and his adrenalin pumping through his veins quickly. His eyed blurred for a moment as they usually did when he was focusing on his target. He closed his eyes and thought to himself Dingo is my dorm mate, not an enemy, don't hurt him. Reopening his eyes he saw the look on Dingo's face that seemed to be a little bit of come and get me, mixed with apprehension, and then it changed to seriousness.
Nash lowered his snout and looked up at Dingo, his eyes looked like black diamonds that were being shown on top of a white table cloth. He walked up to Dingo, kind of close, tilting his head to the side showing his teeth. He had no intentions of using his teeth, but intimidation was one of Nash's fun past times. He turned to face his opponent, no, his friend, his opponent, ARGH. Nash shook the thoughts out of his head, and then lowered into his fighting stance. "Your move first." Nash's voice didn't sound normal, it sounded deeper, and like it had a thirst behind it. He wanted to see what Dingo's strength was before he did anything stupid.
-
Outside he looked strong and ready to fight, but on the inside his bones shook with fear. He decided not to say anything, afraid his voice would tremble too much. Dingo put up his fists and planted his paws as he started to bounce on them a little. He started to move slightly back and forth examining Nash's defensive stance. He gave a soft check with his left, and came around with a full forced swing with his right.
-
Nash quickly blocked Dingo's check with his right forearm. His keen senses telling him that this lion wasn't a weakling, he knew there was another move coming, and there was. Nash threw his left arm up quickly and blocked Dingo's punch with the palm of his hand, at the same time stepping his left leg back and leaning into his right he balled his fist and swung up and around towards Dingo's chin.
-
Defenseless against the imminent uppercut he close his eyes and clenched his teeth together. Taking the hit he spun around facing the opposite wall. Dingo moved his jaw around, channeling pain into fury. He turned around again and stepped quickly towards Nash, planting hard on the inside with his left foot, he spun his entire body around with his right foot high in the air, sending the roundhouse kick towards Nash's fortified stance in under a second.
-
The roundhouse kick hit Nash so fast and so hard in his right knee it buckled, causing him to fall to the ground. On all fours he pushed himself back up onto his feet but stayed in a crouched position until he thrusted himself back up and forward towards Dingo again. Sending a hard right toward his face followed quickly by a left that was directed at Dingo's gut.
-
Dingo saw the right hand coming, and misdirected it as he grabbed Nash's wrist. However Nash's left hand hit Dingo hard in the abdomen, knocking the wind out of him. Still holding onto his wrist, Dingo pulled Nash towards him giving a quick hard jab in the side of his ribs as he stumbled past. Dingo focused for a second to recatch his breath, then put his fists back in the air.
-
Rylo stepped in and broke the two apart. " Stop!, you two need lots of learning to do. You seem to have both taken a beating, well thats not true. You two just arnt strong and havnt been roughed up. Next!
-
Dingo grabbed Nash's wrist and pulled him twisting it as he stumbled past him, Nash felt something pop on the top of his right wrist and his thumb went completely numb. The next thing he knew he felt a jab in the ribs that made him growl out in pain. He grit his teeth at the entirety of what just happened. He backed away from Dingo to refocus, and then tried to get back into his stance, but when he tried to make a fist with his right hand the pain shot through the top of his thumb, and up into his elbow. "RAAHHH!!!" Nash shouted out and held his arm, but he couldn't stop now, no, he just wouldn't use his right arm. He shook it a bit, and then held it close to his body, but kept his thumb loose. Nash stepped back towards Dingo, and then their teacher Rylo, stepped in between them to break up their fight. Nash growled and snapped his jowls at the teacher for breaking them up, but it was probably for the best.
-
Dingo rubbed his bruised abs and tried to crack his jaw. He stepped off the arena floor and off to the side next to the others standing in line, avoiding all eye contact. Frankly he was disappointed... He thought for sure their little show would have impressed the teacher at least a little. Thankful Rylo broke up the fight before Nash did some serious harm, he looked over at him holding his hand in pain. Feeling terrible he went over to him. "Sorry." Dingo said. "I didn't mean to..."
-
Nash was still grinding his teeth together as he followed Dingo back to the end of the line, looking up at other students who were watching them, some with looks of horror at what they had just seen, and others with looks of "I could tie you up like a pretzel" on their faces. Nash growled lowly at some of them bearing his front teeth, all while holding his arm up with the other in a sling-like position. When Dingo came over to him, Nash closed his eyes tightly. "DON'T apologize. Don't EVER apologize for something you did in a fight." Nash commanded at him opening his eyes back up quickly to look at Dingo who looked guilty. Nash began to unwrap his right hand, because he was pulling himself out of fighting for the rest of the day no matter what any teacher said. If he couldn't make a fist, what was the point anyway. Upon unwrapping it, it became apparent that it was swelling over the top of his flexor tendon. "Crap," Nash said aloud, his voice starting to go back to normal as the adrenalin began to drain from his system.
-
Blair stepped onto the battle area, silently staring at the man she was supposed to face. "Idiots first." She grinned, bending her knees slightly to jump at a minute's notice. Her opponent, a tall and heavy set bull, had no issue with charging at her quite bluntly.
"If you're going to dress like a man, I'm going to fight you like a man!" He yelled cheesily, making Blair yawn loudly. With ease, she stepped aside, making the bull spin himself around. She slid her foot out to trip him, making him fall to the floor. However, she was grabbed and pulled down by her ankles. She yelled softly, while the bull gripped her by her suit's front, beginning to punch her in the face bluntly. After at least 30 seconds, she kicked up at the bull's stomach, swiftly rolling out of his grip and gripping his head, slamming it to the ground and panting softly. When he flung his arms out, she jumped back. Her nose pouring out blood to the floor and her suit.
He began a second charge, swinging his fists in a left right pattern, which was rather easy for Blair to dodge. She slid behind him, grabbing both arms and twisting them as far as possible. "We're done, or I'll dislodge both." She kept her grip tight, face cold and bloodstained, she looked to the teacher for a second, keeping her focus on the squirming, larger bull.
-
Dingo looked forward, slightly upset with Nash. "I've never apologized in a fight." Dingo said, crossing his arms. "I've never fought a friend before either." He gazed on as he watched the new fight. He recognized the girl, and was impressed at her agility, and also her bravery to take on the stalky bull.
-
After hearing Dingo's words Nash turned away, sulking a bit because he knew Dingo was right. He had forgotten the friend not enemy motto he had tried to force into his mind before he fought him. Nash dropped the blue wrap he had previously had around his right hand onto the ground, and decided it was time for him to dismiss himself from class, and go find the nurses office. If his tendon was torn his future at the academy could be over quicker than expected. He slipped out of the arena unnoticed, as everyone was focused on the next fight, including Dingo.
Wondering out through the halls, he pulled the map out of his bag that he had grabbed earlier and found the nurses office on the map. He was really hoping that no one would catch him out of class without a pass, because that could wind him up in serious trouble as well. Sheesh, life has too many rules, he thought as he walked aimlessly towards the nurses office. He recalled Dingo's words again "I've never fought a friend before either," which seemed to echo between his ears. He rolled his head around stretching out and cracking his neck then released a large sigh through his mouth, he felt a little broken, more than just physically.
-
Rylo looked at the fight with no impressed face. " Okay your done, This will be going on all year, it will get more and more advanced, and for the first month, you will be very sore. There is a reason to why you have Defensive class before this one." Rylo turned." Next!
-
Blair dropped the buffalo, holding her nose. He dropped to the floor with a cough. "Tramp." The word was spit from his lips. She stopped in her tracks, and then continued to walk away. She, unawaringly in tow of Nash, began to walk to the nurse's office, nose still dripping a constant blood flow. She walked in an angry and hurried pace, blood dripping down her hands and arms.
Her footsteps were quite audible, and she kept moving quickly, accidentally elbowing Nash as she passed. "I apologize!" She said in a hurried tone, storming into the office, and running to the single person bathroom.
-
Before he knew it Dingo was up again. This time his opponent was a tall rottweiler. The dog took off his shirt just as his name was called, and wore nothing but some baggy gym shorts like Dingo was wearing. They took their stances as they waited for the bell. This time Dingo was ready to go all out. The second the bell rang dingo gave a hard kick to the side of his challenger's thigh, followed by quick jabs with his left hand and a hard uppercut. One of his jabs reached the dog's face, however his uppercut was dodge perfectly as Dingo's opponent quickly leaned back. The second Dingo exposed his chest the rottweiler gave him a hard punch directly in the gut. Dingo stumbled backward and fell on the ground grasping his stomach.
"Get up!" The dog said, pacing back and forth. Dingo swept his legs out from under him, making the dog catch himself in the pushup position. Dingo, having recaptured his breath, rose to his feet. Giving a hard knee to the chin of the rottweiler who was just starting to get up. He fell back on his back and rolled over, getting back on his feet again. He wiped some blood from his mouth and put his arms back up. The dog then put out a deadly combination of swings, kicks and elbows that Dingo was unprepared for. Covering his head didnt do much as he took a couple punches and devastating elbows to his cheek bones. A massive migraine was triggered, and Dingo fell to the floor in agony.

Rylo stopped the fight and pulled both out. " Alright, that concludes todays combat, Now I want you all to grab the sheet on my desk, you will be studying the anthro anatomy for your homework tonight, and also for your second homework assignment, you should meditate on your free time for 30 minutes and focus on your body."

Nash jerked his injured hand away from being in harms way again, "Hey, watch it!" he yelled. The nurse looked at Nash over her glasses, "First day and I can't keep 'em outta here" she said sighing heavily. "Sign in, and tell me what's wrong." Nash picked up the pencil and tried to hold it using his thumb, but now couldn't bend it at all so he just did his best and scribbled Nashayan Rio using 3 of his fingers. "I messed up my hand in combat class, I think it might be sprained or somethin'" Nash said to her, and then noticed that she had been watching him try to write the entire time.
She took the clip board and pushed her glasses up her face, "Mr. Rio go have a seat over there please, and I'll be with you in a moment." She shuffled some papers around behind the desk, and then got up from her chair, and walked into the back room bringing out a pair of clippers, and an ice pack. "Hold out your hand Mr. Rio, I've got to shave away your fur to be able to see your injuries properly." Nash grimaced at the thought of his fur being shaved. His skin was pink, and anyone would be able to see it if he didn't have it constantly wrapped. Knowing he had to cooperate he held his arm up and the nurse carefully shaved the fur off of the top part of his hand over the thumb, index finger, and tendon areas. It was hot, red, purple, blue, and swollen underneath his white fur. The nurse pressed on a few places and asked him to respond with a pain level between 1 and 10, 10 being the worst pain ever. When she pressed on the spot where Nash had felt the pop near his wrist where the thumb, wrist, and finger bones all come together he let out combination yelp and whimper. "Hmmm," the nurse mumbled looking at Nash's wrist closely, "please wait here." She handed him the ice pack and he set it on top of his hand, and listened to her as she made a phone call. "Yes, I need the orthopedist. Wrist injury, possible torn tendon." Nash frowned still hearing Dingos words resonating throughout his head with every throb of pain that shot through his arm.
-
Dingo still laid on the floor on all fours as no one tried to help him up. His head still pulsating with pain with each heartbeat from his migraine. He had gotten migraines all his life, sometimes randomly, sometimes when he got hit too hard in the noggin. He laid back on his knees and squinted his eyes to the painfully bright lighting in the room. He slowly got to his feet and and started to walk over to Rylo's desk with one paw putting pressure on his temples to relieve some pain. He grabbed a paper and walked out the arena door. Stepping outside into the blinding light made him want to throw up. He found the nearest trashcan and did so...then continued to search for his next class.
-
The bathroom was occupied for at least fifteen minutes, even though it only took Blair a few minutes to stop the bleeding. She cleaned herself up and stopped, looking into the mirror. The word rang in her ears, only word that broke her on the first day. She sighed, opening the door slowly and walking out. "Excuse me, nurse... I'm sorry if I am interrupting, but I might need some rubbing alcohol and a cloth.." She said apathetically, trying not to make a scene of herself. Maybe she was over dramatic, but that still gave the buffalo no excuse to speak to her like that, or at least so she thought. She was too busy looking down and thinking that she didn't notice the nurse's first reply.
"First aid's over there." She kept tending to Nash, and Blair nodded quietly, taking the kit back to the bathroom.
-
Dingo, still delirious from his migraine, was blinded by the sun as his eyes were now super sensitive. He realized it was lunch after he saw the cafeteria. He stepped inside thinking some food would help, but then decided not to go in once he heard how loud it was. Not feeling up to walking all the way to his dorm, he founded the nearest bench along on of the cement paths and laid down, pulling his shirt up over his head to shield his eyes.
-
The orthopedist finally showed up at the nurses office, toting along some huge rolling suitcase behind him. "Greetings Mr. Rio, I'm Dr. Calabran the academy's private orthopedist and sports medicine doctor, and I'm going to take a few quick images of your wrist to see what's going on, and hopefully we'll be able to get you out of here as quickly as possible." Nash groaned a bit, "You can call me Nash." Dr. Calabran lugged his suitcase onto the bed Nash was seated on, and opened it up, removing the small imaging machine from the right side of it, "okay Nash, tell me what happened." He sighed heavily, "I was sparring with my dormmate in single combat class and I swung my right fist at his face, and then punched him real hard in the stomach......but in the process he grabbed my wrist, and as he was going by me we got kinda twisted around....I-I hope it's just a sprain, but..." Nash paused, wondering if he should say what he felt next, or if he shouldn't, but then realized that the imaging would confirm or deny any suspicions he had anyway. "I felt a sharp pop, and then my thumb went numb. When I tried to make a fist to come at him again, it hurt so bad and the pain shot all the way up into my elbow."
Dr. Calabran was listening to Nash tell him what happened, and was also looking at his hand, arm, and fingers. He lifted each of Nash's fingers up one at a time, pressed on certain areas, and had him rate his pain on a scale of 1 to 10 again. Nash rolled his eyes, because now it felt kind of numb, and the swelling had gone down a bit from having ice on it for at least 20 minutes waiting for the doctor to show up. The doctor lined up an imaging plate and asked Nash to place his wrist on it in the center, in 6 different positions, for 6 different photographs. After another 5 minutes the images showed up on the portable screen, and Dr. Calabran went back to his bag. He pulled out a plastic wrist splint that had a thumb attachment. Nash cursed in his thoughts, because he knew exactly what it meant. "I have good news and I have bad news, Mr. Rio" Dr. Calabran said to Nash. "The bad news is that you've torn the tendon portion of your extensor pollicis longus muscle." Nash looked at the doctor blankly, because he had no idea what that meant. "The good news is that it's not severe enough to require surgery. You will need to wear this brace at all times, except when washing your hands, or taking a shower. It will keep your thumb and wrist stabalized. You will see me again in 4 weeks time, and we will re-evaluatate your injury, and your return to contact in your fighting classes." Nash's eyes grew wide, "WHAT?! I can't fight!?" The doctor chuckled as he placed the brace onto Nash's arm, taping it gently but tightly around his thumb, and wrist, "Good gracious no, that could put you in surgery without a doubt. Don't do anything stupid now, you hear?" Nash nodded, and crossed his arms over his chest, pouting a bit. At least I'm not getting kicked out of school for this, he thought.
Signing out of the nurses office, and getting a note of exception from contact in fighting classes for 4 weeks, he was told that he still had a bit of time for lunch before his afternoon classes started, and he ran outside as quickly as possible. He passed a bench that had an awfully familiar looking figure curled up on it. "Dingo?" Nash questioned, "Dude, are you okay?"
-
After cleaning herself up, Blair walked out of the office quietly, looking down at her bloodstained suit. She walked to the Charm dorms, changing into a pair of exercise shorts and a tee shirt, continuing to tie back her hair. She layed on bed, just waiting for the Advanced Charm classes to begin.
-
Dingo pulled his shirt down from over his face and squinted hard at Nash. He sat up and rubbed his head some more. "Hey...uh...yeah ill be fine. Just have a migraine. Got the crap beat out of me right before class ended." Dingo said. Looking a bit more closely he discovered Nash's brace. He stared at it for a couple seconds and then glanced up at Nash. "Oh...," was all he could say feeling guilt as he looked down at his feet. "What did the doctor say?"
-
Nash held his braced hand behind his back, trying to hide it a bit, he didn't know exactly why he was trying to hide it though. He brought it back around to show Dingo, "Uh...I have a torn tendon in this part of my hand," he pointed to the area the doctor had said was injured, "...and I can't fight for 4 weeks." Nash perked his ears up a bit remembering that they gave him some pain killers at the nurses office. "Hey, they gave me some pills for the pain, they're just strong ibuprofen. Do you want a couple? I bet they'll help your headache." He pulled the bottle out of his pocket and shook it so the pills would jiggle around with a big cheesy grin on his mug.
-
"The days only half over, and I really dont want to miss any classes...I couldnt thank you enough." Dingo said, grabbing a couple pills. He threw them back and swallowed. "Four weeks, huh?" He said rubbing his temples and squeezing his eyes shut. He opened them and looked up at Nash. "Listen man...I feel really bad. If theres anything you need....ANYTHING....you simply just ask ok?"
-
"Don't feel bad, dude," Nash said patting him on the shoulder. "This kinda thing happens, I'm more pissed at our teacher said we weren't strong. Pffft, has he seem this gun show? Cause I can get him some tickets." Nash flexed his biceps, looking at the buldging muscle, and then flexed a little too hard with his right causing that twinge of pain to radiate in his thumb, and elbow to deflate his ego, and his muscle. He shot his arm down and held his wrist, "shows been postponed due to lack of ammunition. Owww." He grimaced, and then sat down next to Dingo. "We've got about 20 minutes until lunch time is over, and then we have Speed- which is probably with the same teacher.....you wanna get some food? or just chill here for a bit?" Nash grinned, he still felt guilty for being such a jerk earlier, and Dingo's words were still running through his head. Maybe one day he'd even work up the nerve to apologize, but for now, he was too proud.
Katayida was finishing up the salad she had made for lunch, and started to get her materials together for her next class. Agility and Damage Reduction. She was going to run this class like she had run the first class of the day, except this one would be partially inside and partially outdoors. Kay's teaching area outside was one flat dirt arena, that used to be a baseball field, and the field next to it that was very hilly that she used for her endurance class.
She put together the information packets for her students, and placed them inside her desk, locking the drawer behind her. Afterwards she left the class room to visit outdoor, a can of white spray paint and a can of orange spray paint in hand. Walking outside she noticed two of her students from her morning classes sitting on a bench, both looking pretty beat up. The wolf had a brace on his wrist, supporting his thumb, and the lion was holding his head looking like he might have had a concussion. Lord have mercy, they're already hurt and it's only the first day, she thought to herself, maybe I should have taught some live action defensive moves on the first day. Kind of regretting not doing that, and only doing classroom exercises, she hurried on to her arena.
In the smooth patted out dirt she painted two long lines about a two feet apart from one another, and then went back and made lines connecting the two lines, each about 2 1/2 feet apart. "Agility ladders, hate to love them, love to hate them" she said out loud with a smile. In another area of the arena she took the orange spray paint and made circles in the same fashion, except they were different sizes. She would explain this drill to her class later on, because it was one she had just made up, and loved the idea of it.
-
Lance had been monitoring in the background for the first half of the day, silently observing, watching. Keeping out of sight while he studied his other class mates. His singular combat class seemed to end before he managed to learn anything which peeved him off, and he lost sight of Blair.
Figuring that he'd see her later, he headed off to the canteen and got something small to eat, a small roll of bread. Coming back out, he felt quite a breeze push against his wings, opening them slightly. he let out a small smile.
"Well it has been a while since I've flown, and there's some time before my lesson"
Within a few seconds, he had extended his massive wings and jumped into the air, using the eddies and swirls of the air currents to lift him higher, pushing down incredible amounts of air to give him lift and let him soar. Once he was of a good height, he decided to do a few air acrobatics to loosen up, first a small loop-de-loop, then he lifted a wing and performed a barrell roll before clamping his wings to his side and shooting down to the earth in a dive, about two seconds from hitting the floor, his wings snapped open and pushed him back up into the air.
Lance looked across the complex before spying his lesson and began to glide down towards it, landing on his feet with a soft thud.
-
Dingo looked over towards the cafeteria building. "It looks like it's cleared out some...should be more quiet now. Lets go get some food." He said getting to his feet. Nash and Dingo walked into the nearly vacant building and got behind the couple of people in line. Dingo fished out his wallet and stared at the menu. Nothing sounded good to him as he didnt have time to think about what he wanted. His pulsating migraine interrupted his thoughts. "Ill just have some chicken strips." He said handing the cashier his bill. When she brought back the food just the smell of it started to make him feel better.
-
Nash followed up behind Dingo in the lunch line and ordered two burgers, medium-rare, no toppings. He handed his cash over, struggling with his wallet with his newly immobilized thumb. Growling a little bit in frustration, he asked Dingo for help, and he obliged by helping Nash put his money back into his wallet. Nash returned his wallet to his bag, and then picked up his plain burgers at the end of the line. Stopping off to get some ketchup, and then going to sit down at a table. "Dude we've gotta hurry, we've only got 10 minutes before class starts now, but it's not that far....and if we're late, oh well. Neither of us feel good anyway." Nash's attitude was kinda blown from his inability to do any contact.
Katayida watched the Pegasus land in front of her on the field, "Well that's one way to make an entrance, isn't it?" She chuckled. "I'm Professor Kay, I'll be your Agility and Damage Reduction instructor, but today we're starting class inside for some quick paperwork." The mare smiled, and walked in the direction of the 200 wing of the Charm buildings again, it wasn't that far of a walk, because Kay had thrown a fit to the dean about her instructional areas originally being planned to be on opposite sides of campus. A carefully written proposal stopped that though, and she walked into her classroom to find about 7 students waiting for class to start.
-
"Dont worry..." Dingo said, talking in between bites. "We have plenty of time." He was already finished with a few pieces of chicken and his fries. "So Nash, what are you going to do for four weeks? Thank God they didnt just send you home, huh..."
-
Nash just made a hmmph noise while chewing a big bite of his burger at first, after he engulfed the last part of the second burger he shrugged. "I don't know what they're going to make me do, and yeah, very lucky they didn't send me home...my Dad would have...." he trailed off, and looked down at the table. "Never mind. The important thing is that they didn't kick me out, but I have a reevaluation of the torn tendon in 4 weeks. I guess that means more pictures, and then I'm sure I'll have to do some kind of physical therapy. I'm not allowed to take this thing off unless I'm washing my hands or showering. It sucks." He stated getting up from the table, and throwing his lunch trash away nearby.
-
Rylo walked out and roamed through the hall ways with nothing more to do.
-
Lance smiled at the teacher and rubbed the back of his head
"Yeah, I guess. I'm Lance, I was in your class this morning...Oh. Inside first. Right." Lance folded his wings and walked quickly behind the teacher to the class, not saying much after their short introduction.
Once inside the class, he started to walk behind an empty desk and waited for the other students to file in. Hopefully his wings would come in handy this lesson.
-
Dingo realized he had fallen behind and quickly stuffed what food he had left in his mouth, then got up to follow Nash. After chewing for about a minute he could finally talk again, but he stopped himself and thought to himself some more. If Nash was sent home to a possibly abusive home, he didnt think he would be able to live with the guilt. Struggling to swallow out of fear he finally spoke up. "Yeah, I'm sure they will find something for you to do in the mean time." It wasnt long before they reached the outside of their next classroom.
-
Blair got up about fifteen minutes later, with about ten minutes to the start of her third class. She wiped the lint from her black shirt, fixing her ponytail and grabbing her purse. She put on her shoes and walked to the door of the dorm tiredly, cracking her neck as she walked into the sunlight. She looked around for the cafeteria, walking to it in no hurry. For her lunch, she got a sandwich and a small plum, accompanied by a water bottle. She hummed lightly and walked to an outside bench, beginning to eat her plum first. She cringed a bit as she chewed its sour skin, however contently smiling when the sweet portion's taste hit her. She continued the meal slowly and took the whole ten minutes, without entirely finishing the sandwich or water. She wrapped up and the sandwich and began to walk as the bell that concluded lunch rang.
-
Katayida handed the info sheets to her class and began to give her small lecture. "Good afternoon class, I am Professor Kay, and I am the Charm teacher. Welcome to Agility and Damage Reduction. Please fill out these papers with a little bit of your basic information and a little getting to know you information. After it looks like the majority of you have finished I will hand out the syllabus that we will be going through during the semester. After we have gone over that briefly I will see if anyone has any questions and we will be moving outdoors to the Agility and Endurance Arena." Looking over her class it looked like she would have no trouble with them today running them through the Agility drills she had set up in her arena.
Nash walked into the new arena for their Speed class, late, but it looked like there was no teacher so he turned around and shrugged at Dingo then sat down on the floor, leaning against the wall. "It's not like I can do anything in this class right now anyway." He looked down at his hand, "how's your head feeling?"
-
Blair walked in and took a seat in the front, a little late. She took the paper and began to fill out facts; her name age, sex, etc. She looked at the questions asking for opinions or hopes, even left the background. She looked to her name, written in neat and legible italics. She took her pen and wrote it carefully. "If you really want to know, find out yourself." She didn't know if she could make it any clearer. She kept silent, sitting still and looking to the paper blankly.
-
"Head is fine now, thanks." Dingo said, squeezing his temples one last time. "I think that medicine did the trick." If only I could make his wrist better just like that, Dingo thought. "Hopefully the teacher can find some kind of use for you." He looked at the clock, wondering where he might be.
-
Lance looked down at the sheet of paper before him "hmm, I guess it was inevitable that we'd have to fill out one of these."
Picking up a pen, he dashed the boxes which applied to him, looking at the other questions.
Opinions, what opinions did he have? it was his first day. "Odd. Different. Potential."
Hopes? A better word would've been targets. "To excel in my classes and to better understand my abilities."
Hobbies. Hobbies. He had to think of this one for a while. Something he relished more than other activities. "Flying. Training."
The other questions were a bit about his family, which he crossed out. "Confidential".
Looking up once he finished, he saw that Blair was one of the few students that had finished around the same time as him, with a blank look on her face. He wondered if she was going to be alright. But then he attributed it to her probably just thinking about other things.
-
Armand walked into the Fighter classroom silently and looked at the chaotic mass of students, up and about, being loud and social. His face was stern as he approached the front and spoke in a deep voice. "Everyone sit and be silent!" He said commandingly, students rushing to a seat. "I am your replacement, and hopefully permanent, Fighter teacher. Your previous didn't properly understand the curriculum. In this class, Speed, you shall be learning how to properly chain your movements to maximize the damage you deliver to your opponent, and the speed at which you do so. Any questions?"
~
Blair glanced a bit towards Lance tiredly, then to the teacher, and then the clock. She was rather impatiently sitting in the silent room, tapping her foot quickly and quietly. She already didn't like the school, and really just desired to go back to her room and read a book, actually learn something. This first day wasn't doing anything major for her besides making enemies or negatively affecting people.
-
Nash was already seated when the brawny lion walked into the room and announced himself as the new fighter teacher. Well, that's just great, he thought to himself. Nash raised his uninjured hand, "I have a note." The white wolf waited for the teachers response to his note, excusing him 4 weeks time to heal his wrist. He glanced at Dingo for a moment, and then back at the teacher.
Kay noticed that everyone in her class was pretty much done filling out the forms, and handed out the syllabus. "I trust you all can read, so the only thing I want to point out is the testing dates on this syllabus, there will be NO make up dates for these tests. Please take note of them, be ready, and I don't recommend being late. We will now be moving to the arena, where your beginning agility itself will be tested, in the easiest way possible for some, but the hardest for others. Anyone familiar with agility ladders?" Kay smirked and gathered the information papers from her students. "Please follow me to the field." She locked her papers away in her desk once again, so no personal information of her students could be exposed, and then lead her class out to the arena where she had earlier painted the agility ladder, and the agility circles.
-
Dingo gave a slight smile, and swallowed nervously, hoping the teacher would have some mercy. If not, maybe him and the teacher would have a little lion to lion discussion after class about how things happened. "Dont worry." Dingo said to Nash. "Before you know it this month will be over and everything will be behind us. Besides, I'm sure you will be spending a lot of time on your footwork and kicks while your hand is out of service."
-
Blair got up slowly with the rest of the students, walking next to Lance. "I am unsure if you have any plans after class, but if you don't I would like for you to go into the city with me to get food and a few small appliances. I can't eat the school food forever." She said softly, following the group and being careful not to seperate herself from Lance.
~
Armand looked to Nash tiredly and gave a stern look to Dingo. "Please be silent unless you are speaking to me, you will have time to gossip later." He then looked to Nash. "We are not doing anything physical today, speak to ms after class." Finally, he went to the front of the room. "I have few rules, however I do have two major ones. The first, be respectful and do not speak when I am. The second is not to threaten your peers. Period. I am not going to say consequences, because hopefully I shall not need to discipline. Furthermore, if I finish everything early, the rest of the class can be used for your own uses, as long as you be respectful and do not vandalize my facilities. You can expect regularly scheduled homework after today. Am I clear?"
-
Dingo looked at Nash giving a slight smile. "Yeah...clear." He mumbled with the rest of the class. "Hear that buddy? Nothing physical." Dingo wasnt sure who was more relieved.
-
Nash nodded at the teacher's rules, and put his bookbag in his lap to lean on it with his left elbow to his cheek looking bored. He sighed heavily waiting to find out what they would be doing if they weren't doing anything physical, not looking forward to the discussion they'd inevitably have to have after class.
Arriving at the field, Kay turned to watch her students faces as they looked over the agility ladders she had painted onto the old baseball diamond. "Please gather around so you all can hear me. Before this class started, I looked at my roster of students for this class and my next endurance class, and most of you are in that class as well. This is the Agility and Endurance field... My playground, if you will, and today I'm going to be combining the two classes, and you will get out earlier than other students who are in other sections. Mostly because I can guarantee that you will be completely exhausted by the end of this. Each class is scheduled for one full hour, but I will only be doing one hour today on the field. Some days we will utilize the full two hours, others, we won't. Just be prepared to sweat each time you come here." She clapped her hands, and then rubbed them together a bit. "So! What we're doing today is see where you are in your agility and endurance currently." She brought her bag out with her and pulled out a stack of red folders. "Please take one of these for yourself, it will be due at the end of the semester to track improvement." She waited for each student to take a folder, and spoke again. "I want everyone to start by jogging three laps around the bases in one direction, and then reverse on the end of your third lap to come back to home plate and move into the cage for a stretching session. After stretching, I am going to run all of you through the endurance interval training hills."
-
He grabbed a stack of papers and began to hand them out. "You shall call me Mr. Dyselli. For the first few days, we shall learn some background information on styles on combination. Then I will teach you restraint, then how to use combinations. This paper is homework, which will require you to do research on three basic styles, and write a paragraph on for each. That is 4 to 6 sentences each medium length. If you do not do this, you will not be able to learn anything." He looked to the clock on the wall. "There are computers at the academy library, as well as books. You have 3 minutes before this class ends." He sat at his larger teachers desk, and looked to Nash, beckoning him over and then shuffling through his papers, trying to straighten up the mess the last teacher had left.
-
Nash took the papers, and put them into his bookbag, turning to Dingo, "wait for me outside? We have some kind of magic class to go to next." He then got up and walked over to Mr. Dyselli's desk. "You wanted to see me?" He held his injured arm close to his body with left paw over the right, looking down somewhere between the edge of the desk and the floor. Like his whole demeanor was broken along with his injury.
-
"Please look at me while we are speaking. It is polite." He said solemly. "I will excuse you from hand excercises, however most are footwork, so you shall be participating. That is all."
-
Nash looked at him, directly in the eyes, "I'm sorry, sir. I just, I didn't expect to get hurt on the first day, in the first class.... I'm a very competent student, and have lots of fighting experience. I fear for my ability to stay within the school now because of this injury. My tendon is torn, but the campus orthopedic said that I would be reassessed in 4 weeks to see if it was healing properly...I will prove to you that I am worthy." He said with a bit more confidence in his voice raising his chest up a bit, but still feeling discouraged deep down. For some reason he felt a great deal of respect towards this teacher, much more than the other, because of the way he conducted himself. "Thank you," he said before walking out of the room to meet Dingo to go to their next class.
-
"One more class then this day is over..." Dingo said to Nash as they walked. "I could go for a nap right about now." The air outside was growing cold as the sun started to make its descent from it's afternoon high. Some clouds started rolling over from the distance, and showed signs of some imminent rain. "To be honest, the idea of magic has always scared me. Its not controllable in my opinion, not like fighting with the body. It's easy to get carried away, which could be disastrous."
-
Nash nodded at Dingo's remarks about magic. "I've never really had any interest in it, but it's part of the curriculum so I guess I don't have a choice." Arriving at their next class they both walked in and took a seat, "Basic Magic it is" he said to Dingo with a toothy grin.
-
Dawn walked to the front of her class, taking her book with her and placing it on her podium. The tigress looked at each of her students. "Hello, everyone. I am your magic teacher, Dawn, for this course, Basic Magic. What you will be learning is attributeless magic, sometimes calked neutral. You may have heard the term mana before, in video games. It is what we will use to describe your energy. Mana is mostly the physical output of mental energy, usually in the form of blue and white light. Attributeless magic takes the color blue most of the time, while attributed takes a variety." She looked to her students. "I know most of you are of the Fighter class, but Arcana skills are important for fighters as well. My main example is our main form of shield, basically a veil of mana around the caster. Let me demonstrate." She placed her paws together and breathed deeply, as a veil of blue light emerged around her slowly. It slowly spread over and formed a barrier, disks of the light orbiting around her; however, the veil was transparent. "This is one of the few skills I have mastered, and is a lead up to a specialized shield for an attribute. I am not going to ask you learn this yet. However, the veil protects from magic well, and has some, but not much physical defense. Any questions so far?"
-
Nash had a look on his face that was somewhere between shocked, and utterly confused. He pursed his lips like he wanted to ask a question, but didn't even know where to begin. How did she do that? was the only thing that ran through his head. He looked over at Dingo and mouthed "What the hell?" towards him. He didn't know anything about magic, and didn't know how to move his 'mental energy' into this blue sheild of physical energy either. He decided to raise his hand, "So we're not learning this yet, but what are we going to be learning?"
-
Dawn lowered her arms slowly, the veil vanishing. She looked to Nash quietly. "First I shall be teaching you students concentration. Concentration is the key to using Arcana Skills. You have to focus in order to bring your mental energy into the physical form. Then I shall teach you basic attack skills and a similar shield skill. After that, I shall have you pick an attribute and style. Your attributes will vary based on style. However, there are two main styles, Western and Eastern Magic. Western referring to Europe, and is often called Classical Magic, while eastern is referring to Asia and India, and is often referred to as Elemental. The advanced classes, Classical and Elemental, are already learning this. Let me give you all a basic breakdown." She said softly, beginning to draw on her white board. "The most common forms of classical are Light and Dark, and a rarer Neutral form is found. Light skills are defesnive and revolve around healing, while Dark skills focus on damage. Neutral is a very ambigious attirbute, which I shall not go into right now. These magics spawn from Judeo based religions. The Elemental attributes include Water, Wind, Earth, Fire, and Electricity." She drew the elemental magics in a pentagram, and Classical Magics completely seperated, linking the Elemental attributes together and looking to her students. "A universal law of Eastern Magic is that you may not learn two elements that are not next to each other on this diagram. It is based off a much more complex diagram found in a Shinto shrine in Southern Japan. The reason to why you cannot learn the elements across from each other is because they will not work; your mind will grow unstable. The Eastern combinations are: Water and Wind, Water and Electricity, Earth and Wind, Earth and Fire, and Fire and Electricity. The earth and wind make no sense to me personally, however it is how it is. Those are the five combinations for Eastern magics. Western magics only allow for you to learn how to use Light or Dark. Neutral magics can be used by either, however, as the name implies. Each of you who wishes to become an Arcana will have to pick one. Anyway, on to the basics. First of all, each of you is going to have to calm yourselves. Second, you must relax. Third and finally, you must feel your mind open up and slowly pour out its energy. Most of you may not get it at first, but you will by the end of class. The focus of this exercise is release your mana, and create a mist of sort. It is usually a deep blue, but it can vary from person to person. It is difficult to explain how to do, but you simply have to try. You can trigger this by trying to relax your head to the point where it feels like you are pushing your brain apart, even though you cannot feel or actually do that. Is everyone ready for the first attempt?"
-
Dingo looked at Nash and tried to hold back an involuntary grin out of nervousness. His heart began to race and sat up in his chair as he answered "yes" with the rest of the class. Dingo had no prior experience with magic in his life, he had never actually seen it until a couple minutes earlier. His heart was beating faster not out of excitement, but of fear.
-
Nash also murmered "yeah" along with the class, and tried to focus his mind, or whatever it was that the teacher was telling them to do about 'opening the mind.' He sat upright in his chair with his hands together and inhaled a deep breath holding it and then letting it out slowly to try and calm himself, or forget about everything that had already happened during the day. His mind wouldn't slow down, but he started to get it to calm slightly, he peeked an eye open and saw a blue orb around a student about 3 seats over from him. It was so distracting he completely forgot that he was supposed to be trying to do that himself.
-
Dawn smacked a meter stick down on Nash's desk, making a loud snap, which caused several of the veils to disappear from the room. "Focus." She said coldly, looking to Dingo and watching as a few students developed thin and thick viels of the blue energy. "For some, it shall be challenging. For others, it will come easily. However, everyone must retain proper focus, or they shall not be able to outpour their energy." She said to the class, watching everyone and holding the meter stick quietly.
-
Nash yipped as the ruler came smacking down onto his desk, and the teacher yelled at him. As she turned away he released a low growl from his lips, and went back to focusing. This time he went from a different angle, if he was going to have to focus he was going to focus on being determined. He already had it in his mind that elemental fire and electricity dark magic was the direction he was going. He focused on his anger, on how frustrating this was, and all of the sudden a very dark blue orb whirred around him. Shocked at how strongly the veil felt around him his ears flattened and he lost his focus and his dark blue orb. He panicked a little on the inside, but didn't know if that was normal or not. His fur felt static like all over and especially where his training shorts met his body. He ran his paws down his legs and arms to try to flatten his fur out and shook his head. Looking at the teacher, was he supposed to bring it back?
-
Dingo was focusing hard as he was clearing his head. He finally got his thoughts under control and breathed deeply. He focused hard on what he had to do and how he needed to do it. Eventually he felt an intense cold emerge from the center of his brain. It felt like a brain freeze, but not painful. It was a relaxing cold, and soon it spread throughout his body. He opened his eyes a little and noticed his hands were quivering, and a light blue tone had taken its place on the tips of his fur. He jumped in his out of fear, bumping into Nash slightly, and received a harsh static shock. "Ow! what the hell did you do?"
-
Nash gulped, "I don't know!" he said in a slightly frantic voice. "I don't think it was supposed to be that strong." He wondered if the teacher had noticed his strong energy field, and that it had shocked Dingo in the process. His hand shot up in the air waving her over.
-
Several loud outbursts spread throughout the class, and Dawn smacked her meterstick on her table roughly. "EVERYBODY BE SILENT! She yelled loudly, the class falling quiet. "The hue of your aura shall determine which magic would be a wise decision. She pointed to Nash. "Dark: the power of the two Classical Magics." She turned to Dingo. "Light: the buff, debuff, and healer of classical magics. She then turned her attention to everyone. "After you finish basic magic, you shall be given a choice. You can not master two sections of magic, you can only master Classical or Elemental, the only way you can learn both is to learn the basics. That is all you shall be able to. Furthermore, once you have chosen attribute, it will stick unless you take the time to completely unlearn your attribute. However, I am not here to teach you Classical or Elemental Magic. If you wish to switch classes to one of those, get a good score on your tests on Friday. Now, I'm going to teach you your first unattributed skill. Nash, stand up here. She instructed, pointing to a spot next to her.
-
Nash swallowed hard and rose from his seat, walking to the spot that Dawn had pointed to with her meterstick. He hoped she wouldn't strike him with it, or something. Not knowing what to expect he put on his fake sheild of strength and buffed his chest out a little bit, facing the class. "Yes ma'am."
-
She shook her head as she watched Nash put out his aura, and buff up his chest. "Put out your arm, please." She turned to the class quietly. "I'm going to show you a basic use of healing, then an advanced form. Every one of you should learn the basic form, and students planning to take the light route should master it. If you can learn this skill well enough, you should be able to heal yourself within a second. However, this skill can barely heal a medium sized fleshwound." She took a small knife and cut herself on the finger, clenching her eyes softly as blood began to flow from the point where she had pricked. "I apologize, this isn't very clear and obvious, but I don't wish to cut myself open for the sake of example." She held out her thumb, the cut leaking a small flow of blood. She breathed out softly, focusing quietly. A small shimmering appeared on the area of the cut, flashing lightly before vanishing, leaving behind a healed thumb. "Healing skills won't make you heal wrong, contrary to common beliefs. It simply accelerates healing. It either works or not, if your skill fails then you won't end up a bigger cut, just a half-way healed one." She turned to Nash, gently swirling her paw around a section of his mental energy that he had dispersed. It all poured into her a paw, building into the form of an orb. She held it up to the class. "This is the mana bead for Nash. Created from his energy, this is what it appears when condensed. It has a dark and highly satured color, showing it would probably be best suited under strong, single target spells, most common in the areas of Dark magic." She clenched around it, not causing any pain to Nash, making the orb's hue change to a lighter shade of cyan. "This is my mana bead. It has a light and yellow tinted color, best suited for multi-target and miscellanious spells. My skills are in the areas of Basic Light magic combined with Basic Earth and Fire. Light and Earth are both multi target when offensive. However, light has many miscellanious skills to heal with." She placed the bead of mana onto Nash's cast softly, it evaporating into a mist and surrounding the cast before sinking into it. A soft tickling sensation enveloped in Nash's arm as the muscle's tendon healed. She let go of the arm and quietly looked to her students. "Many people are quite skeptical of Arcana skills, so you shall not see healing often. After class, Nash, go see the nurse again to get your cast removed. You cannot properly learn with an injury. Just make sure they check it over, I may have missed a few smaller parts, however you should be fine. Now everyone, are you ready for instruction on the basic healing skill?"
-
Nash felt the mana ball absorb into his cast, and felt the tingling all throughout his muscle as it tensed and released over and over again. He made a slight hissing noise, but it was only an inhale through his teeth, because it kind of hurt. He nodded when Dawn told him to see the nurse again, slightly excited, and slightly nervous. What if it didn't work? he thought to himself as he returned to his seat, ready to learn the basic magic healing skill, even if he did have dark magic under his belt, and seemed to be one of the very few that did in his class. He only saw two or three others with dark orbs around them. Most of all he was ready to be done with his classes for the day, and to go back do his dorm room. He could feel that same want coming from Dingo.
-
somewhere on the opposite side of the campus a door burst open, a flash of white was seen, and the door slammed shut.
"oh god" i said to myself as my my paws and hand-paws sent me sprinting across the warm asphalt like a feral, the fastest way i knew to run "i cant be completely absent for my first day" i had spent all of last night wondering how i scored so high and worrying about the laughter that was sure to rain down upon me when the found out that i knew next to nothing about magic. as i skidded to a calm upright walk a few feet from the endurance classroom, i checked my watch, 2:01, it was then i realized i had sprinted a two-minute half-mile and wasn't out of breath, this class would be an easy A+ i thought as i quietly opened the door.
i thought wrong.
-
"For this skill you shall focus your mental energy on a small injury. A cut, a small blister. That is all I can tell you, you can either do it or you can't." Dawn said bluntly, leaning on her meterstick and watching the class tiredly. The period was about a quarter of an hour from being over, and teaching magic wasn't exactly an energy restoring concept. It was quite the antithesis, and drained one mentally.
~
Blair continued doing the physical activities as previously instructed, panting and sweating tiredly. She continued to press on, knowing that they weren't going to get any easier as the class progressed. It was then she caught glimpse of a white wolf. "Late..." She mumbled softly to herself, continuing a jog. As she had displayed throughout the agility latters, she was quite adept when it came to flexibility and evasion, but lacked when it came to stamina.
-
Dingo patted Nash on the back when he sat down. "Days almost over." He said relieved. He gave the teacher back his attention to watch the demonstration on healing. He remembered a small cut on his arm that appeared some days ago. He gathered his focus and concentrated his mana. He then focused on the small wound, feeling his arm tingle a bit. The tingling soon concentrated it self on one spot over the cut. Soon the red line started glowing gold. A dim light faded, revealing a healed a healed patch of skin underneath. "Woh, it worked." Dingo said completely surprised. He rubbed the fur over arm which felt softer then usual and laughed a little.
-
Kay watched as a white wolf ran breathlessly into her class, very very late. "And your name?" She stated looking through her charts as the rest of the students ran though the agility ladders with the foot patterns she had demonstrated. She turned around and clapped her hands "Alright everyone! That's enough for your first day. I can see that some of you are in better shape than others. Please take your pulse and write it on your first day post test spot. After you have properly cooled yourself down, you may leave....except for you, late one," she said turning her attention back to the wolf who had missed her class.
Nash didn't have anything to heal anymore and didn't want to injure himself to just see if he even could heal. It's already been determined that he has dark magic, and it already shocked Dingo. He instead refocused and brought his shield back out and focused out a dark ball of mana that rolled around in his hands. He could see the dark blue orb with swirls of anger that looked like a very violent storm rolling up on a dark night. "Um, I'm sorry, but what do I do with this now?"
-
i blinked and said in a voice as cool and sharp as frost covered razor blades "my name...." my voice trailed off leaving behind a void in its absence "is aeron foxx" i concluded after several seconds passed, my tail flicked as i suppressed my laughter, watching her flinch at the sound of my voice.
-
"You were late to my class...in fact, not just late, but you missed it entirely because today was a short day. Take one of these red folders. Tomorrow you'll have to do the post test to judge what kind of shape you're in now and then join the rest of the class. My classes are combined generally, the Agility and Damage Reduction and Endurance. Two hours of class time, but I only made it one today. For today I will have to mark you absent. Don't let it happen again. I don't tolerate lateness." She said gruffly to him, not budging an inch. Wolves didn't intimidate her, and neither did any student. She turned away from him and looked at the agility ladders she had set out, they were scuffed up and well used. Impressed with her class overall she knew she would need to come up with something good for them to do tomorrow that would be challenging.
-
though class was over i sat and waited until the last dregs of students filed out. his lazy nature prompted him to go back to bed, but i knew that i couldnt afford myself that leeway. i continued to sit waiting for the teacher to leave, the determination showing on his face as strong as the light from a exploding star.
-
Dawn looked to the clock and sighed tiredly. She looked to her class and rubbed her head. "Alright, everyone. You can learn more tomorrow.. Class is dismissed." She said quietly, going to her desk to check her email. She had a single message, basically stating she had to attend a meeting in the principle's office at 4.
~
Blair approached Kay quietly, and waiting for the wolf to finish speaking. She looked to her teacher blankly. "Are there any curfew policies, or rules on leaving campus? Or rules on keeping food in your room? I'm just curious, because I wish to go get somethings..." She laughed quietly, looking to her a bit tiredly and letting down her blond hair.
-
my tail twitched as i waited for the human female and teacher to exit the room
-
Kay turned to Blair, "You're allowed off campus, but you must be back on campus by 9pm. If you are caught off campus by 9pm you will face consequenses set by the principal of the school. If you have somewhere to store food, you are allowed. Chips, drinks, all of that is fine." She smiled and then turned to see the white wolf scoffing near the baseball cage. "Mr. Foxx you are desmissed, please leave my field." Just as she finished speaking her phone binged with an email saying that she had to report to the principals office at 4pm for a meeting, and sighed tiredly.
Nash still had his orb of energy, and then decided to squish it between his hands. It reabsorbed back into his paws, and he looked at Dingo. "What do you say we get back to our dorm and work on that paper?"
-
i decided to hold my ground and quietly wait for the teacher to answer her phone.
-
Blair nodded quietly and looked to the white wolf bleakly, continuing on her way to her dorm, quietly thinking to herself. If I had a nickle for each one of those douche bags who showed up late to class and don't listen to teachers... She laughed a bit, shaking her head as she continued on her way to the charm dorm. "I haven't seen Lance in a while.. She said softly to herself, continuing on her way.
-
"Paper...right." Dingo said to Nash, thinking his work was done for the day. "Lets head back to the room and get it over with quick then, I want to have some free time tonight." He walked with Nash out of the building and into a grotto. After finding their dorm, Dingo threw down his stuff and jumped onto his bead, face first into the pillow. "Mmmmm...." He mumbled. "Ive been thinking of this bed all day." He sighed and sat up. "So lets get started with this paper then, huh?" He said looking at Nash.
-
Nash threw it backpack by the end of his desk and flopped down on his bed as well, right arm still in the brace and hanging off the bed. "I wonder if that healing magic really worked," he said picking his arm up and looking at the brace. "Professor Dawn told me to go to the nurse again to get it checked, but I'll do that after we get this paper done, I guess." He reached up and grabbed his backpack pulling it over to him, and pulled out the paper their teacher had given them on the assignment. "Styles of Speed and Combinations," he said aloud and then groaned. "I don't know any of this stuff....."
-
i sat and waited. after several minutes passed my impatience got the best of me and i left . i saw the human girl wandering down the halls as i speed walked back to my dorm. my curiosity got the best of me . i stopped nervous to approach her and wary that she may catch me staring.
-
Dingo laughed at Nash. "I know right...I taught myself how to fight...I dont know what kind of styles there are really. I guess we can just guess on the questions we dont know...Its not like we learned anything today anyway, what can the teacher possibly expect." Dingo fished his paper and a pen out of his backpack and sat down on the little desk, starting to fill in some answers. Before long he clicked his pen and leaned back in his chair, happy enough with himself.
-
Nash got up and sat at his desk eying the paper cautiously, but then electing to fill in the answers as well, scribbling long paragraphs of things he was just making up, mostly. He hoped that it didn't reflect too poorly on his score, but oh well. Like Dingo had pointed out, they didn't learn anything today. Finishing up he put the paper back into his backpack and stretched. "Want to come with me to see if the magic worked? Or do you want to stay here and hang for a bit while I do that and then we can go out and see what this town has to offer."
Kay looked to her watch it was about quarter till 4:00 and she started walking towards the principals office. Not sure what this meeting could be about, but certainly didn't expect one on the first day, that was for sure. Making her way through the dorm ways, and students walking about she walked into the admissions building and up to the principals office. Five of four, cool, she thought. Wonder where the other teachers are.
-
Dingo grinned at Nash. "If were going out on the prowl I guess I better take a quick nap, come and get me when youre finished." He said, flopping back onto the bed. "By the way, good luck, I hope the magic worked."
-
Blair stopped in her room to put on one of her simple black dresses and to grab her purse, not bothering to look behind her. She continued her walk and stopped at the intersection that led to the school buildings and the exit. She looked to the library and then exit, deciding that she'd go to the library later. She proceded outside of the academy's gates, looking around at the city from the front of the academy.
~
Dawn, who was wearing a lightly colored sundress, picked up her cup of tea, which she had made, and began a calm walk to the principle's office. She kept an open view of the students as she walked, to make sure all rules were being followed. She held the cup in both paws, tiredly walking into the office and sitting in one of his seats. She looked around, seeing only the principle and her in the office at the moment.
~
"The others should be here soon.." The principle, Alexander Boston, said softly. He was a rather tall lynx, and wore a black suit with a red tie. Dawn nodded quietly and sat in the chair, looking to the other three empty chairs around his desk. The principle put away some of his folders casually, and looked onto his computer as Dawn sat there and sipped at her tea: communication between the two was minimal.
-
Kay walked into the principals office shortly after Dawn did and sat down next to her giving a nod of hello. "Hello Principal Boston," she said with a smile and crossed her legs gently in the center of the room.
Armand was the last to arrive and sauntered in tiredly and sat down in the third chair. "Good afternoon ladies, good afternoon Principal Boston."
Kay shifted in her seat a little bit when Armand entered the room, what happened to the black gruff unicorn that she had been talking to earlier in the day, she wondered. "So what's on the agenda?" Kay asked ambiguously, and somewhat concerned.
-
When Nash left, Dingo let out a sigh of relief, glad to be alone. He reached inside his backpack and pulled out a half empty box of cigarettes. He reached for the door and stuck his head out to make sure no one he bumped into would follow him. He went down the hall and found the smelly, rusted stairwell. He reached the first floor and opened the door to the emergency exit after searching for any type of device that would trigger an alarm. He quietly closed the door behind him and found himself outside in a small secluded grove with a tall oak tree. He sat down under the long shadow of the tree and watched the sun fall over the mountains. He rolled up the sleeve of his plad button up, revealing a tattoo on the underside of his forearm. He lit a cigarette after looking around for witnesses one last time and did some meditation as he started to doze off.
-
Alexander nodded and waited for the forth teacher to walk in quietly. "I shall discuss it when our last teacher gets in."
~
Silently, a tall and pale skinned man walked in. He had blue eyes and long blond hair, and in general was very reminiscent of Blair. "Apologies for being late." He said softly. His voice was masculine and very polite. He scoped out the teachers beside him, and Dawn did the same.
~
Alexander looked at all four of them. "As you know, you are here to bring out the qualities of each student properly. Arcana, Charm, Fighter, and Science." He looked to each teacher respectively, eyes falling upon the blond man at last. "Arcana studies is in the responsibility of Ms. Raymond, Charm in the responsibility of Ms. Maheteha, Fighter in the responsibility of Mr. Dyseli, and Science in the responsibility of Mr. Avery. There is a type of betting pool placed upon which class shall be the most valuable to a person, which is why our weekly exams will be placed with intermixing each class. There is also a side experiment, to see how Science students do without any other classes, and everyone without Sciences. Predicted results are that the Charm students, who will learn how to cancel or deflect attacks of Fighter and Arcana students, shall be defeated by the Science dorm. The Arcana students, who will use the new found magics, should fall to Fighters. It is your job to prove these predictions wrong."
Dawn sighed with dismay, while the science teacher grinned a bit deviously. "That's no competition at all... He mused, while Dawn sipped her tea quietly.
-
i quietly slid around a corner as i followed the girl i had seen. human. what is a human doing here ? i thought.
-
Blair continued on her way out of the academy, keeping her purse close as she went into the city, which was a few blocks away. The road to the academy was anything but crowded, and there was a pleasant breeze that flowed through Blair's golden locks. The small walk of quiet was gone, however, as she walked into the city. Loud bustling, car horns honking, people on their cell phones, and general noise filled her ears. She sighed a bit and looked around, many words popping into her sight. She looked around for a few seconds, until she saw a store labeled "grocery," which she walked into.
-
Dingo checked the time on his phone and put it back in his pocket. He figured he better get back to the dorm before Nash got back. He rubbed his cigarette butt into the dirt and stood up. He walked towards the emergency door and realized there werent any handle on the outside. "-_-" He thought. Dingo walked around to the front side of the building and walked into the door, brushing shoulders with a couple people in the crowded hallway. He smelt his shirt and realized he wreaked of smoke, which explained some weird looks he was getting. He reached his dorm and grabbed some cologne, then sprayed it all over his shirt. He jumped back into bed and shut his eyes, waiting for Nash as he fell asleep with ease, still relaxed from his buzz.
-
*cassandra walks out of the main admisions office and starts walking about the campus trying to find where all her classes are and ignores the staring people* mmmm now lets see.
*she looks at her clast list: *
1) Classical Magic(dark/light type things)
2) singular combat
3) agility and damage reduction
4) Endurance
mm i wonder if anyone else has the same classes..... *she continues to glance down at the map in her other hand clearly a little confused at the set up.*
-
Kay sat back in her chair and eyed the science teacher crookedly, and then looked back to the Principal, but only a glance was given. "Oh there will be competition, sir. My Charm students will defeat your Science students 10 times over." She said confidently, because the plan that she had was to make them strong, and sturdy, as well as nimble enough to escape and deflect attacks from any of the others.
Armand laughed deeply "You think your Charm students will be able to beat a class of pure fighters? Under my instruction these students will learn everything they need to know." He said confidently, with a little bit of a proud undertone in his voice.
Meanwhile, Nash had gone off to the Nurses office again and when he walked in she sighed and looked at him over her glasses "Yes, Mr. Rio?" she said to him tiredly. Nash replied "I think my magic teacher made my wrist better, maybe. She told me to come here to see." he chuckled uncomfortably at the words that just came out of his mouth. "I'll call the orthopedist to bring the machine and check if you want, but all of this is going on your bill, you know." Nash gulped at the thought, a bill meant it would be going to his parents, meant it would be known to them that he was injured, which meant a frantic phone call from his Mother if he didn't call her first. He'd do it tomorrow. "Yeah," was what came out of his mouth.
15 minutes later the orthopedist came back into the room, "Good evening Mr. Rio, I just saw you not too long ago, but you claim your magic teacher has healed you?" he questioned Nash. Nash looked at him and shrugged not saying anything, because he didn't claim it, his teacher did. "Well I'll check you out, just to see what's going on." The orthopedist pulled out the portable machine again and did another scan of his wrist, showing a perfectly healed tendon. "Impossible," was the only thing that the orthopedist had to say. Nash looked over at the screen also seeing a perfectly healed tendon his excitement grew in his belly knowing that he'd be able to get back to fighting immediately. "Now Nash, don't go over doing it tomorrow just because this shows that it's healed. I don't trust the bonds, so, take it easy. I'll write a new note for you stating that you are not to use your right arm in combat for 2 weeks, just to be sure." Nash started to get upset at that point "2 weeks?! But it's healed! It looks like nothing ever happened to it, ever!! Come on please just the rest of this week and then let me go back to regular fighting?! Please!" His begging worked because the orthopedist agreed to it and gave him a note excusing him from contact on his right hand for the rest of this week. "If it hurts again, you put that brace back on and come here immediately, okay?" The orthopedist said to him and Nash nodded quickly. "Thank you." Nash ran out of the nurses office quickly and back to his dorm, this time, holding his brace in his right hand, instead of on it. Bursting through the door of the dorm room he said to Dingo "It's healed! It worked!"
-
Dingo sat up quickly, as Nash frightened him when the door slammed. He rubbed his eyes and looked at the brace he held in his hand. "Really? It worked? Thats great!" Dingo said patting him on the shoulder. "Now you can fight right? You never know what kind of trouble we might get into tonight when we check out the town." Dingo grinned and laughed a little as he nudged Nash. "Well what do you say we go see what this place has to offer huh?"
-
meanwhi;e Cassandra is stll wandeing around trying to find the doorms and finaly gives up and sits on a bench, pulls out a skech pad and starts drawing, " i should find someone that can help but i mght as well draw... there are so many nice things to draw around here" she smiles to her self anstarts to sketch some of the different buildings, and trying to stave off her rising sence of panic.
-
"Hell yeah, buddy lets go!"Nash noticed an ultra high level of cologne on Dingo, but decided to ignore it. They'd be outside soon anyway so it wouldn't be filling his sensitive wolf nose anymore. Upon leaving the dorm building Nash spotted another human girl, but not the same one that he and Dingo had seen before. She was sitting at a table drawing, what she was drawing he didn't know, but didn't give it much thought. It was very shortly after leaving the dorm building he remembered that his fur had been shaved down and he had a pink bald spot on his wrist. It looked silly, but he decided to point it out to dingo. "This was where the tendon was torn, and to see it with the sonogram they had to shave my fur off...now I've got this pink bald spot. Ughhh. At least the brace used to cover that."
-
Cassandra started to get bord with drawing and decided to try to pratice just getting a small black flame to apear in the palm of her hand. she she closes her eyes and holds the image of a small candle with a black flame. a small flame starts to apear in her plam and she smiles at the warmth in her arm, but as soon as she opens one eye slightly to look at the flame, it swells and makes a minor explosion in her face sending her toppling over backwords and out of the bench. "ow ow ow ... why does it always do that!... ugh this is really starting to ..grrr" she continues to mutter darkly to her self, as she is getting up.
-
Dingo tried to hold back a laugh, but a chuckle made it through. "You could have worn a jacket, or asked to borrow one of my sleeved shirts. But dont worry, It's not noticea..." Dingo was cut off by a small bang. He saw the girl sitting on the bench fall backwards out of the corner of his eye. He ran over to help her to her feet. "Geeze, are you okay?"
-
Nash followed Dingo over to the girl who had been knocked off the bench that he had noticed earlier. "What just happened?" He said as Dingo was already on helping her up from getting knocked over.
-
She looks up surprised, then blushes. "well uh.. i my element blew up in my face.... um thank you for helping me up..My my name is Cassandra. its a pleasure meet you." when she speaks they can hear a faint British accent.
-
"You can call me Dingo, it's nice to meet you." He put his paw up to her face and wiped away some ashes off her eyebrows and cheeks. "How about we keep the explosions for the classroom before we go setting the campus on fire?" He said laughing. "So...whats a good looking thing like you doing all alone at this hour? Its getting dark."
-
she laughs embarrassed " um i got lost... and couldn't find the dorms, or my way back to the Admissions Office to ask for directions....."
-
"Well your dorm building depends on your class. But the admissions office is that way." Dingo said pointing North. "It has a lot of glass windows and has admissions written on the door. Anyway, me and my friend Nash here were just about to go explore the town. You can come along if youre looking for something to do."
-
" Thanks, and you wouldn't mind me comming along?" she goes the table and puts the skecth pad into her backpack. "oh and I have Classical Magic first... where would that dorm be?"
-
"Of course not, the more the merrier. Besides, you look like you need some company." Dingo said. "Where should we go first?" Dingo said looking at Nash.
-
Dawn watched the three bicker and sighed softly. "You're all idiots. If Charm has the strength over Fighter, and Fighters have the strength over Arcana, then who has the strength over Science? Obviously it's Arcana. It goes in a large circle, much like the pentagram of eastern magic."
"Don't bring your pixies and witches into this conversation, miss." The man laughed loudly. He looked to Kay sleekly, "My students can destroy your charm students before you'd get a shot at the first win, m'dear.
"I wouldn't speak to the dorm teacher of your younger sister in that manor, Mr. Avery. She is her guardian until she switches dorms, which looking at her current test scores, will never happen. Unless she slips." Alexander couldn't help but muse loudly, grinning to the human maliciously.
"I could care less of that brat. She's just another student." He returned the look of malice, and then turned his attention to Kay. "She wishes to master your lessons and doesn't care much for the other two classes. I'd watch out for her ego, it gets trite quickly."
"I see that's something that runs in the family." Dawn laughed lightly.
"Silence! If I wanted to hear gossip of a girl, I'd be on Facebook adding every student in this academy! Now, remember, practical and written exams are this week on Friday, ready or not. Cram your students to properly see who wins, and if you can live up to your statements. Am I clear?" Alexander said loudly, looking to each of them sternly.
-
"Of course not, the more the merrier. Besides, you look like you need some company." Dingo said. "Where should we go first?" Dingo said looking at Nash.
" thanks again," Cassandra looks over at the one Dingo called Nash.
-
as i started to leave campus , following the human i decided to turn around,, i began to slowly and quietly walk back toward the campus, thinking only of my bed.
-
Nash was kind of shocked at how forward Dingo was with this girl, and just sat back and let him do most of the talking. He did feel it was necessary to introduce himself though, the muscular white wolf gave a toothy grin and covered his pink spot on his wrist with his other arm, "Hi, I'm Nash." He looked at the gate and rubbed his chin "Lets go get some food in the city," he said before looking at his watch "It's 6pm. We have to be back by 9. I don't want to get in any more trouble today. Tomorrow's another story."
Kay looked to the Principal when he shouted at all of them, and nodded in understanding towards him before she turned her attention back to the science teacher who seemed to be more full of himself than anything else. "How distasteful," she said and crossed her arms over her chest.
Armand sat back in his chair "Understood sir. Now, if we done here for today, I have some planning to do," he said in a very serious and deep tone.
-
Cassandra smiles. "thats cool with me. Um...what happned to your wrist?"
-
Nash blushed hard, but you couldn't see it through his thick fur. "There was just an accident this morning in Dingo and I's fighter class. They had to shave my arm to use the sonogram machine. It's fine now." Nash felt his anger kind of boiling up about it again, instead of feeling better about. His face fell harsh and silent and he looked to the ground.
-
" oh sorry.... I-I didn't mean to bring anything bad back up." they sart walking and Cassandra is smiling abit and looking around trying to remember different markers so she can find her way around the campus.
-
as i walked back through the campus i looked around some then out of the corner of my eye i saw a wolf who looked very much like me other than the fact that he was wearing different clothes. i crept up on him getting ready to pounce, thinking he was one of my friends who had come to the school the previous year.
-
Nash's ears flicked back as he heard someone coming up behind him, he turned quickly and saw another white wolf who looked like he was ready to attack him, Nash responded by growling and flattening his ears to his head, baring his teeth. He was unsure if this other wolf meant him harm or what he wanted in general. Either way, it would be a mistake.
-
Cassandra jumps a bit at seeing the display of aggression but doesnt say anything, not wanting to get involved.
-
i noticed the other wolfs agression towards me. curiously i sniffed the air. he did not smell familiar, i got up from my crouch and cocked my head to the side in a display of confusion.
sorry i must have mistook you for someone else, what is your name? i asked playfully
-
Cassandra relaxes a bit. then waves shyly at the new white wolf
-
Dingo rolled his sleeves back down after he prepared to fight the stranger. He then crossed his arms and grinned at the friendly wolf. He didnt think he could have controlled his laughter if Nash had gotten tackled by him. It was like the world was out to injure him.
-
" uh hi there...."
-
as i notice the girl i start to shy away. i wave back with a quiet "hi."
-
Dingo let out a "hmh" and put his arms at his side to look less intimidating. "It's okay...no need to be shy. Im Dingo, what's your name?" He said, smiling at the wolf.
-
Cassandra boldly walks up and holds out her hand."Hello my name is Cassandra, its nice to meet you.." her face starts to redden in embarssment.
-
"i-im aeron" i said my hand-paw noticeably shaking but just barely, as i reached out and shook her hand
-
"Well Aeron, its a pleasure meeting you." Dingo said. "Might I ask what you think you were doing sneaking up on us like that?"
-
cassandra smiles. "n-nice to meet you Aeron"
-
i blushed so hard that my hand-paws got hot as i spoke. "um well... there was this person i used to know and from the back you look alot like *mumbles* well last year *mumbles* started going to school here so i thought you were that person."
-
Cassandra looks at Dingo and then to Nash wondering whats going to happen next.
-
After she had gotten some snacks, Blair walked out of the store with two bags; one filled with several tea mixes, the other with several pastries. She looked around, quite confused on how it quickly became dark out. She continued on her walk the academy, humming to herself softly. She kept watch on the shadow cast in front of her by streetlights, noticing the shadow of a head behind her. She cautiously walked, eyes always on the shadow. After a while, the shadow vanished, and she walked into the school tiredly. She looked forward to see a group of three people, and the distraction caused her to trip idiotically on the ground in a less than graceful manor. Picking herself up, she looked at her tea and pastries, which had spilled from the bags. She stopped on the ground, gathering them as quick as possible. "Stupid stupid stupid..." She cursed softly, picking the bags up. She looked ahead periodically, curiously watching the other group. She looked at the white wolf tiredly, then continued, after connecting he was the same one who had shown up late and made himself look arrogant. However, she was starting to see his bark was much worse than his bite as she overheard his nervous voice.
~
"Finally, remember to teach your students, regardless of their class. It doesn't matter if they're Charm or Fighter, teach them what is expected of you to teach of them." Alexander said softly. "I am done." Mr. Avery nodded and got up, simply walking out. He quickly left to make sure that he did not get anyone trailing him. Dawn followed in a similar action, sipping the last of her tea tiredly.
-
i noticed the human girl from earlier and wondered if i should help her as i saw her fall.she shot me hateful look but i decided to help anyway.
i wanted to ask her if she was ok but my fear that she knew i had been following her silenced me.
well that and my shyness.
-
Cassandra looks behind Aeron and sees someone fall and items fall out of a bag. "hey guys im going to be right back." she quickly goes over to the other girl. "hey, are you ok?"
-
(hadn't shot any hateful looks. Just thought to hersel and looked at you, White.)
"Huh?" She looked up after grabbing the last pastry. "No, thank you. I've got them all now... I just have to be less clumsy." She said with a soft laugh, standing up and looking through her bags and purse to make sure nothing was missing.
-
ok well just trying to help. by the way i noticed we have the same class in fourth period.
-
"oh.. ok. have a nice night then." Cassandra walks back over to where Aeron, Dingo, and Nash.
-
Nash hadn't relaxed a bit from the other white wolf creeping up on them even if Dingo and Cassandra had. He wasn't in for getting hurt again and if anyone was going to put him at risk of that he was going to make sure it was them who was hurt, and not him. "I'm Nash," was all he said as the others cheerfully greeted each other, and then Aeron and Cassandra ran off to check on the girl who fell. Nash grumbled to himself, his cheerful mood now ruined, and it was obvious by the expression on his face. It was similar to the expression he had on his face the day before when he and Dingo had first met.
-
" I don't mean to pry, but are you alright Nash?" cassandra asks when she comes back over.
-
Nash looked at Dingo, because he knew that Dingo would know that in this moment Nash needed to be left to cool off on his own for a bit, but instead he just responded in a low tone. "I'm fine. Lets go get some food. I'm just hungry." He decided to lead the pack at this point and start walking out of the academy gates, besides, the later it got the harder it would be to get back in time. He didn't want any repercussions, his parents were already going to hear about his injury, and then how "magic" healed it. Oy vey, he thought to himself.
-
i turned to cassandra "can i tell you a secret?"
-
Cassandra turns around. "sure im always up for a good peice of information."
-
whispering i said "the person i thought he was......she was my best friend"
-
"oh....well thats different....um whats your first class tomorow?"
-
classical magic. yours?
-
cassandra smiles "thats my first class too....though its probally going to be my worst.... i cant control my element at all..."
-
Dingo pointed out a pizza parlor not far into the city. "This place looks pretty good...lets check it out." He said. He led the group inside not really listening to their reactions, due to the fact that once his nose caught the scent of the fresh baked pizza there was no stopping his feet. He ordered two large pizzas to share with everyone and paid for it. About half an hour passed and the cook brought out some boxes with searing hot deliciousness inside, and nobody could seem to keep their noses off. "Lets take them back to campus, that way we stay out of trouble...huh?"
-
"I noticed you were rather late to fourth, as well. Try to show up on time tomorrow.. She said softly, walking to the dorm with her bags in hand. Once she placed them down, she left again to go to the library, picking up books on basic magic. She walked out with several textbooks hugged to her.
-
i blushed tho you couldnt tell through my fur. "ok ill try not to be late" i said as my tail twiched.
-
Nash was drooling at the smell of the pizza, "Thanks for for picking this place out bud, smells great, what do I owe you?" He pulled out his wallet to give offer Dingo some money, "Oh, uh, yeah, getting back would be a good thing. It's about 8 now, we've only got an hour till campus curfew. Lets take it back to the cafeteria where we can all sit."
-
"Dont worry about it..." Dingo said, brushing Nash's wallet away. "Consider them celebration in the good news of your wrist." He lead Nash across some streets, dodging oncoming traffic trying not to drop the food. After making it safely back to the campus, Dingo was relieved to find the gates still open. He walked over to the cafeteria, but was greeted by an angry lunch lady wearing one of those mesh hats to protect her hair.
"You cant bring those in here. No outside food allowed." The fox said.
"Ill give you a slice if you let us..." Dingo said trying to persuade. However she didnt agree with his offer. Dingo and Nash were shooed away, making quite a scene for the students eating their dinners inside.
"Well...great..." Dingo said to Nash, holding the pizzas which were growing cold. "Whats plan B?"
-
during the whole trip Cassandra was quiet then she spoke up, " Why dont we just eat them in one of the common rooms...or maby even out here.. it isnt' too cold out, an an even if we cant.. then.. we could find a way to sneek the food in?" ((sorry if im not included in this.. just give me a hollar and i will remove this post and revise it...))
-
Nash scoffed at the lunch lady fox, and mocked her "No outside food allowed," once they had turned around and walked away from the cafeteria. When Cassandra suggested the common area Nash nodded, "The common area would be fine I think. Let's get to eatin', so we can get to sleepin. Today was a long day and classes still start at the butt crack of dawn tomorrow." Leading the way to the commons, a center building below the library, between the dorms he opened the door and held it for Nash and Cassandra to come through.
-
"thanks." Cassandras eyes widen when she sees the large area, and looks around amazed. "This is a cool looking place... are all of the dorms like this?"
-
"The fighters dorms arent this nice...not even close. Thats all I can tell you." Dingo said having a seat and lifting up the lids on the pizza. "Dig in." He said with a mouthful already. His stomach had been twisting and turning all night in hunger.
-
Cassandra smiles and happily begins devouring the pizza. "mmmh this is sooo good," she continues to eat until she gets to her fourth slice. " i didn't get a chance to look at the housing charts.... is there one here that i could take a look at?" Cassandra looks down clearly embarrassed about it and is cursing her self for being so forgetful. She then looks back up and begins to notice the little things in the room, like the fireplace near the other side of the room, the Bulletin board covered with fliers, advertising the different clubs and organizations wanting new members. the room its self was rather spacious and felt more like home than a collage dorm common area.
-
Nash followed them in and hopped over the back of the couch to sit next to Nash and grab a piece of pizza from the box putting one leg up over the arm of the couch they sat on, and leaning into his opposite elbow. "Yeah magic!" Nash said somewhat sarcastically with a mouth full of pizza. He looked at his pink skin where the nurse had shaved his fur earlier, inspecting it a little closer, it was slightly red, but nothing he really needed to be worried about, he thought while picking up a second piece of pizza. "There are maps, but they're kinda only at information centers. I don't have mine on me."
-
"Im sure theres one around here." Dingo said, looking around the common area. "That looks like it could be it." He said pointing to the wall far on the opposite side. There seemed to be a chart with Names filled in, but he couldnt make them out. "You might want to find out where ur supposed to sleep...its about that time." Dingo laid back and put his hands on his stomach after letting our a loud yawn...showing his sharp white teeth. "Ready to go soon bud?" He said, looking at Nash.
-
Nash grabbed one more piece of pizza and shoved it down in a hurried fashion as he usually did. "Yep, it was nice meeting you Cassandra. We'll see you tomorrow, I'm sure." With that Nash grabbed an empty pizza box and left the one that only had a few pieces in it for Dingo to carry back to the dorm, since it was his pizza technically. "Thanks for the pizza Dingo. It hit the spot," he said as he got up from the seat and was ready to get back to their dorm for sleep.
-
"thanks.Cassandra yawn when she gets up and stretches, cracking her back before walking towards the bulletin bord with the names and assigned dorms. she looks down the list and then finds her name almost at the bottom of the list, Cassandra Yurik: Arcina dorm. She walks back over to the couches, "Where is the Arcina dorm? Please forgive me.. I'm just still trying to process everything...." she smiles sheepishly and picks up her backpack.
-
Blair walked in with books stacked to her chin. She continued carefully to her room after looking at the small group in the commoner area for a second, throwing her books beside her bed and grabbing the top, which was written on Basic Magic. She closed the door, walking back to the common room to sit on a small armchair and read on what she was supposed to already know.
-
"Im really not sure...im sorry...I havent been here that much longer than you have." Dingo said. "Anywho, Nash and I better get going. We will see you tomorrow." Dingo waved and turned around to Nash and started walking with him outside. The air was cold, and the wind kept blowing his mane down into his eyes. "I thought this day would never end." He said with a hint of shivering in the words.
-
i left the other students to go about my own business:
mischief
-
Nash waved goodnight to Cassandra and gave a look to the girl that they kept seeing around who came into the room as they were leaving. He found a trash can and folded the empty pizza box in half and shoved it inside on their walk back to their dorm. "You're telling me, and we have to do it all again tomorrow." Upon entering their room Nash looked at Dingo, "Hey, are you okay?"
-
Dingo looked up at Nash, slightly confused. "Yeah, im fine...What makes you ask?" He questioned, sitting down on his messy bed.
-
as i slip into the library i inhale deeply all the scents of the vast room "ah!" i mutter "nothing like the smell of old books"
-
Nash sat on his own bed "You just seemed to be a little off after this morning, I guess things were just crazy, it's been a hard day for both of us," Nash said as he scratched the top of his head. "Lets get to bed, we've got to do all of this tomorrow again." He said as he pulled his covers over his legs and crawled into his bed getting comfortable, or as comfortable as the bed would allow him to.
-
"Its been a rough day i guess." Dingo said laying on his bed on top of his covers. "And you're right, lets get some sleep, never know what tomorrow will bring..." Dingo wrapped his arms around his pillow and hugged it tightly to the side of his head. "See ya in the morning."
-
After some practice, Blair finally got her own mist to expose from herself. It's hue was a very light blue, and she hummed softly as she continued to go by the book. She sat outside to try the first and basic magic attack, which was basically an arrow of mental energy. She sat in the grass with a light hum, proceeding to focus her mist to condense in the form of an arrow. However, once she had done this, it flew madly through the air. She squeaked and almost panicked, losing her focus and causing it to break apart into her light mist. Deciding she was done, she took to the book and quickly ran inside, rushing to her room and shutting the door. "Lance you should hav-" She stopped, seeing Lance's bed empty. She then sighed, putting her book on the stack and proceeding with her nightly routine, rather lonely as she did so. After she was clean and dressed, she layed herself in bed and attempted to sleep.
-
i attempted to creep past the librarian. dropping on all fours and reverting to my feral form. as i slunk past the desk i was hyper-aware of every single small noise, most undetectable by human ears, every scent was yet another peice of information about my surroundings.i resisted the urge to bolt as i crept onward.
-
Cassandra leaves the other room and begins wandering around out on the campus looking for the Arcana dorms, after what she believed, had to be at least twenty min, she spotted the big brick building and was mentally cursing herself for not noticing it earlier. It was closer to the admissions office than she had thought. She walks up the steps and into the main part of the dorms and looked around at the layout. It was almost the same setup as the charm dorms but everything was planer and not as lavish. to the right there was a staircase, and directly in front of her about a few feet away from the bulletin board was an elevator. She glanced at the elevator then back to the stairs. Cassandra took the stairs, up to the second floor and started to walk down the hall looking for her room number. "mm lets see." she mummers to her self as shes walking through the hall, "206...room 206.. where are you.." She passes the room then looks to her left and sees a room marked 208 and turns around. She stops at room 206 and gives a courtesy knock to whomever might be in there then opens the door.
Post Merge: October 24, 2011, 04:31:24 AM
she looks in and sees someone fast asleep in the other bed, and her name tag on hers. Cassandra quietly closes the door and, changes into her night clothes. She sets her phone to go off at 7:30 to wake her. She yawns and thinks to her self, /today was a great day, i have already met some new friends.. hopefully/ She lays down and is out by the time her head hits the pillow.
-
i sit and begin to read a book on theory, after the clock marks an hour passed, i am fast asleep in one of the librarys chairs. before i fell asleep i had set my alarm on my phone for 6:00, the best time to catch the sunrise.
-
Nash's alarm started ringing at 7am the next morning for Dingo and Nash to get ready for day two of their new school life. Nash hit the snooze alarm, and 10 minutes later is buzzed again, so it hit it one more time and when it rang a second time it was now 7:20am and Nash threw his left leg out of bed followed by his right leg, and then sat up slowly stretching and yawing. He grabbed his pillow and threw it at Dingo "Get up ya lazy lion," he said with smile and grabbed his towel and went off to the showers returning 15 minutes later clean and smelling fresh. He wrapped his wrists and ankles again as todays training would probably be harder and then put on a pair of sweat pants, and a tank top. Grabbing his books up he waited for Dingo to finish getting ready before they headed off to their first class.
-
As Cassandra's phone went off she was already in the bathroom doing her hair. She didn't notice it until she walked out and heard it. "whups..." She glances at the other person still sleeping and doesn't want to be rude by waking them up, but doesn't want them to sleep to late eather. She shrugs and decides to just leave. She grabs her Class List and backpack, and slams the door behind her, hoping that they would get up. "i shouldn't care if they sleep in.. I'm not their mother." she says to herself putting on a smile and walking down the stairs again, avoiding the elevator. As she gets down into the main room there are other students milling about talking and some were just eating. Few wave and She waves back to be polite then heads out into the morning to try to find her first class.
-
Dingo grunted and pushed the pillow off his face. He yawned and sat up, waiting for Nash to finish using the bathroom. Dingo took a quick shower and quickly got dressed after brushing his teeth. He threw on his shorts and tank top, then continued vigorously to try and dry his mane off in a towel. "Sometimes I wish I was just bald." He said trying to undo some tangles. "Anyway, lets get going."
He threw the towel away and opened the door to the noisy hallway. He stepped outside into the frigid morning air and took in a deep relaxing breath as he waited for Nash.
-
an hour and a forty-five minutes earlier i had risen 10 minutes before my alarm on my phone went off, shut it off, went to watch the sun rise, then at 6:40 i went for a thirty-minute jog, afterwards i had took a quick 20-minute shower, and i was now outside the classical magic classroom, enjoying the crisp, cool,(though not as cool as i am used to),air, as a light breese ruffled my damp fur.
-
Blair got up and proceeded with her daily routine of applying minimum make up and fixing her hair to perfection. She put on a black dress, spending quite a while to make sure she had not gotten any lint on it. She began to snack on a pastry, not having time to bother to try to find a way to get hot water. She grabbed the Basic Magic book from the night before. From there she walked to her first class slowly and tiredly.
~
Dawn awoke and put on her sundress tiredly, gathering her lesson books. If she had to beat fighters, she'd have to teach her students fast. She took two texts that she had spent the night reading through in her arms and rushed to her classroom. Due to her late night cramming, she'd a few minutes late. "I'm really sorry, my students!" She said as she opened the door and hurried them in, beginning to take attendance by seating chart.
-
as i was hurried into the classroom i bumped into a girl with a pristine lint-free black dress, ruining it spectaculary.i looked up shocked to see blair. sorry about your dress i mumbled shyly.
-
Cassandra comes running down the hall wering a pair of skinny jeens, and a form fitting shirt. she hurrys past mutttering, "oh my goodness, I am soo late for Classical Magic....."
-
Blair sighed softly, and attempted to dust off her dress. "It's fine.." She said softly, continuing the attempt and finally stopping when she got it as close to perfect as possible. She looked down at it rather disappointed at the fact that it close, but not at perfect. She sat in her desk and began to read from the book tiredly.
~
Dawn continued the roll and stopped with a collection of absent students or students that she'd yet to see. "Is there an Alex in here? Or a Cassandra... Lance? Are these students coming?" Dawn asked softly, looking around her classroom. "If you're here, please speak up quickly, because I've got a huge lesson to do today!"

-
Cassandra arives out side the door out of breath and timidly opens the door, "Please say this is the right class for clasical magic..." Cassandra's face is flushed and she looks rather fustrated.. "I am sincerly sorry if it is not the right class...."
-
for the past few days sigma had been miserable and sick. everyday kaya had dropped off his work that he missed and took him threw the classes and studies that he had missed. in truth he was home sick. he was utterly alone as he felt with out family. his sisster had always been with him and leaving her behind was just gut wrenching. feelling better he decided that tomarrow he would ask kaya to show him thier classes.
' i hope no one is angry with me for not being there for the first few days'
he knew how much teachers hated the students who were suposably sick on the first day of class let alone the next few as well.
-
Nash ran out the door after Dingo, and past him to go to the front field where their class was to meet for Evasion and Defense, "Come on, I'll race you!" he said jogging backwards. "We're out in the front field, remember?"
Kay stood at the front of the group who were there already and cleared her throat, "Good morning class, welcome to day two, we're going to be getting more in depth today and I will be passing around a sheet for you to sign for attendance for the rest of the semester. Please pass it back to me once it has reached everyone." She paced around a little bit waiting for more of her students to arrive, and looked at her watch.
-
Dingo groaned at the offer of the race as he was still half asleep, but smiled back anyway and ran after Nash unable to decline his challenge. He soon caught up jogging next to him with a grin. "Almost forgot we were supposed to be out there, good thing you remembered."
-
Cassandra trys to calm down. The teacher, Dawn, as her name plate read, was standing infront of the class and seemed to be taking attendance.
-
Dawn nodded and looked to Cassandra. "Please take a seat, 3rd row, 4th seat." She said, pointing to the first empty seat she saw. "If anyone knows where Sigma is, and has a method of contacting him, please tell him to arrive to this room." She opened her book and read a small paragraph, beginning to draw a diagram on her board.
-
Cassandra hurried to her seet and quickly pulled out her notebok and started to scrawel down the diagram on the bord. She would glance around the room ocasionly, just feeling a little out of place with all the furs around.
-
Nash ran just a little bit faster than Dingo, beating him by only a little to the front field of the academy. "Hahahaha gotcha Dingo!" Nash said jokingly pushing Dingo's arm as they jogged up to their class ready for the more hands on class that their teacher had promised them.
"Nash, Dingo, nice to see you've decided to join us this morning." Kay said as the boys ran up to the class. "Alright, we're going to do some slow motion action today. No one will be out for blood, and this will all be for the technical aspect of defending yourself and attack evasion." She puts her hand on her chin and leans back on her left leg. "Dingo, would you come up here and assist me, please?"
-
The diagram formed a pentagram on her board, and she began to draw small symbols in each point(crappy paint version, for understanding purposes, is right here http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/802/unledye.png/ (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/802/unledye.png/)). "As I discussed yesterday, these are the Eastern Magic attributes. A single magic useer may only learn two attributed magics which are connected here. A magic user may also learn the very basics of a Western attribute, dark or light, and have both under their belt. As you grow, you may be able to master certain skills. However, you will not be able to master an attribute if you learn skills from both Western and Eastern attributes. As I said, in this class, Classical Magic, I'll be covering the Western attributes, Light and Dark. However, to do this, I'm going to need you students to disperse your mental energy, or aura, in the physical form in order to tell what attribute you'd be strongest with. However, the choice is yours. You may go against your aura, however it will eventually bend to the magic you chose. So, who here knows how to properly disperse their aura?"
-
cassandra raises her hand tentivally, "how exactally do you define correctly?"
-
Dingo nudged Nash playfully after losing the race. He listened intently to the friendly teacher and gladly walked up to her after the request. "Dont break anything please." He said ready for the demonstration.
-
Nash watched the demonstration that Dingo was called up for, but he preferred to be in the action himself.
Kay stood behind Dingo and grabbed his upper right arm with her left hand. "Now, approaching your opponent from behind like this, you grab your opponent with your opposite hand of your strong arm. Making sure that your strong arm is ready to deliver a hit." She slowly turned Dingo around by pulling his arm towards her body and pretended to go and punch him in the face, all in slow motion action. "As the person receiving this move you should protect your face by bringing your left arm up to block the punch, and have your right arm ready to throw back, or a knee ready to throw into the stomach of your opponent."
-
Being turned around Dingo looked at the incoming fist with wide eyes. Even in slow motion the teacher was still intimidating... He listened to her instructions and brought his left arm up to cover his head and block the punch, while brining his knee up to deliver a fake hit in the stomach. "Something like that?" He said.
-
"Yes! Exactly like that. Now since you are face to face with your opponent, and hopefully got that knee to the stomach in you can deliver an elbow to the back to continue the drop, and then drop further with a knee to the back, while grabbing a wrist and you should have your opponent subdued. If you are on the other end and you just got kneed in the stomach the best thing you can do is back away as quickly as possible and distance yourself from the person who has the upper hand. Now, can someone tell me what the attacker's mistake was?" Kay looked around the group of students and someone called out "They approached from behind to start with and didn't get the upper hand after the first block." Kay nodded, "Correct. To get the upper hand after the first block, you grab the blocker's arm that they're using to block with and twist it around, spinning them around again, wrapping them up by the neck with your strong arm. These are the basic subdued positions from behind that we will be working on today. Please find a partner and practice them in slow motion."
Nash waited for Dingo to come back over to him, assuming that he would want to be his partner in this drill. Standing nonchalantly so no one else would try to partner with him.
-
*raises hand*whats an aura?
-
Dingo was let go by the teacher and walked over to Nash. He smiled on his way over, thankful to have a friend in the class. "Good thing its slow motion today so you can actually go easy on the wrist like the doctor said...I know you werent going to." He said with a grin. "Anyway, lets get down to business shall we?"
-
Blair sighed softly and looked to the white wolf, "An aura is the essence of your mental energy in the physical form." She said gently.
Dawn nodded, looking to her class. "This is an advanced class, you are to learn the basics on your own. The library has most of the books on it. You're going to have to catch on fast, because I may only display basic light attributed and neutral magic. But I guess I shall cover the very basics.. First, each of you has to open your mind to where your aura flows out from your temples. This is how you access your mental energy."
-
*raises hand again* what if we want to learn dark?
-
Cassandra nods and smiles and totally relaxes, "I do believe i know how to do that correctilly Miss Dawn..Please correct me if i do it wrong.."
-
sigma looked around the room after falling asleep. not feeling any better he decided to take a bath scence he probably smelt terable. he walked over to the door atatched to his dorm, opened it and started running the water in the tub. turning around to retreave his laptop he stubbed his toe in the door way. "this day just gets worse!!!"
-
Nash huffed at Dingo, "Yeah, you're probably right, but the next class was the dangerous one. We'll see how the new teacher handles it though." He got into position with his back towards Dingo, "You go first."
Kay walked around and assisted some of the partnered pairs in their technique to subdue their opponents and grinned seeing that most of them were getting it down, because the next step was fast motion practice, but that was going to be saved for tomorrow. She had worked up an arrangement to get some of the mats from the Fighter gym to use to absorb the impact of the students hitting the ground once things started heating up. A cool gust of wind blew past and she shivered zipping up her track jacket.
-
Dingo grabbed Nash's forearm and spun him around, then proceeded to throw a slow punch towards his face, just as Kay had demonstrated. He couldn't help but smile as he wondered how this was all going to play out.
-
Nash put his left arm up and ducked his head under to block the slow punch from Dingo, then moved slow punched back with his right arm, still protecting his face, and readying himself for Dingo's next move.
-
Matching Nash's speed he turned his side to him and protected it with his arm folded up with his head ducked in his hand. He put his left foot firm behind him to keep balanced, and to prepare the kick. Nash's punch hit Dingo in the arm, and then he right away returned with a kick towards Nash's right thigh with his left leg, keeping his arms up at his chest.
-
Dawn nodded to Cassandra and stepped aside, beckoning her over. "Wpuld you kindly demonstrate for the class, if you feel comfortable?" She said kindly, although ignoring the other question.
Blair looked to Alex and back to the teacher, listening to her lesson as it was taught and waiting for Cassandra to demonstrate, if she would. Blair opened her book and began to read quietly, trying to understand the methods of arcana skills.
-
Cassandra blushes a bit, stands, and walks beside Dawn. She Uses one of her own "calming" techniques to help her relax and to clear her mind of any distraction. She begins to let her aura flow naturally, and a slight dark blue-ish tint appears in the air around her. Cassandra's Aura has an oppressive feel. Quietly " Is this right Miss? "
-
Nash took the kick to the leg, because in real speed there would have been no way to avoid it, and then hopped back to deflect any other moves keeping his hands up infront of his face.
Kay clapped her hands, "Alright students! That's enough for today, everyone seems to get the basic concepts down perfectly. Next class we will be meeting here again, only we will have gym throw mats and we will be acting all of these moves out in real time instead of slow motion. See you tomorrow!" She smiled happily feeling as if she was doing a good job at teaching her students what they needed to know.
-
Dingo looked at Nash and nodded with a smile. "Tomorrow will be fun. Lets get going to our next class, huh?" He said starting to walk back towards the buildings.
-
"Yes. Now let me see.. Blair... You know what an aura is, so I assume you can pull yours out, am I correct?" Blair nodded quietly to Dawn's question, watching her almost silently. "Please stand on the opposite side and demonstrate, if possible."
Blair got up quietly and stood about two feet away from Cassandra, folding her hands together in what looked like a prayer. She hummed to herself, watching her very light cyan aura flow from her temples in the form of mist, which was very thick. Dawn nodded and looked to her class.
"As you may see, Blair's aura appears stronger due to the mass and volume of it, however, it is of a light color. Light auras are indicators of defensive magic, most common in what were called the Holy magics. Her aura shows that she'll be able to learn and control healing skills and center based attacks quicker than single target spells. If she chooses this, her skills will not have great damaging force. However, she will have excellent defense. If you look to Cassandra, her aura is concentrated in her rather than outside. This means she will be able to attack more strongly and longer than Blair may. Attribute of ease would be dark. Dark skills are high damage, yet single target. There are skills of vanishing and mental play that may be used in Dark magic. For overall, Blair can fend off a crowd and heal, while Cassandra would have to take them one by one, yet will be able to disappear. Let us keep in mind that multiple target skills aren't as strong on a single target as singular target skills."
-
sigma lowered him self into the bath remembering to remove his collar so it didnt get wet. after that he grabbed his laptop and opended the shools page on the internet. loging in to watch the same introductory vidio he had see a hundred times while he was sick.
- welcome to our amazing facility here. scince you are able to log in i am sure that you have made it to orentation -
sigma said the line exactly as the feline in the trailer showed. the video was starting to bore him. though it did give him something to do. pulling out his phone he decided that he would text kaya and see what he was missing.
-
Kaya felt her phone buzz in her pocket but ignored it. /i can always check it later.. its proably the sleeping kid./ during that small point of distraction she loses concentration and her aura promptly diffuses.
-
"what does the color mean? what would it say about me if my aura was pink? cuz i'm not gay."
-
"That's Inappropriate for Collage. you should know that if your a guy and your Aura is pink it doesn't make you gay, and even if someone was that is offensive" Cassandra glares at the kid who made that comment. then turns red realizing that she just yelled at someone. " I-I'm sorry Miss Dawn.. t-that outburst was extremely unprofessional of me...."
-
T_T :o :| "okay" :? ummmm sorry i didn't know.
-
The bell rang as Dawn was about to continue. She sighed and looked to her class, waving an arm. "Dismissed." She said softly, going to her desk.
Blair nodded and went to her desk to pick up her book, her aura having disappeared a while ago. She began to walk to her next class.
Armand stood in the arena, waiting for the Singular Combat class to flood in. The lion stood quite stern and sturdily, yet also very impatiently.
-
Nash and Dingo arrived at the arena shortly before it was scheduled to start. Nash grumbled and nudged Dingo in the ribs with his elbow "Looks like Sargent serious is in the building today," referring to the professors unhappy, if even seemingly angry, appeal of body language as they entered the room. "Today should be fun." He said with a grin, licking his lips, almost drooling as his adrenalin started to pump at the thought of getting into another physical confrontation with someone. He needed to prove himself today, several of their classmates were looking at him, and were either afraid of him or wanting to take their chance to dance the dance of blood and aggression.
-
allright!!! combat i thought to myself, this should be interesting.
i glanced at some of the other students, some of them looked worried or scared, and some looked excited and anxious.
i was pumped but i kept up my "perpetualy bored" expression.
-
sigma lifted himself out of the tub only to feel sick agian.
/ i should really, really see some one about this/ he said to himself. he emptied the tub, dried off, and grabbing a pair of wind pants and a bagy shirt he climed into his bed to sleep it off.
-
Dingo laughed at Nash as he caught sight of the instructor. "Looks fun, hopefully we get into some more serious stuff today, i'm sick of all of this introductory stuff. If I dont get some fighting over with in the classroom im afraid ill end up starting something on the street." He said half jokingly. A little intimidated Dingo gulped as they approached the crazed teacher and wide-eyed students.
-
Cassandra looks at her phone and notices that it was the kid in her dorm and sent a quick reply. 'sorry i didn't wake you, you looked like you needed the sleep' She sends it and promptly sets off to her second class, singular combat. As she arrives she notices two familiar faces and smiles a bit.
-
sigma woke up to the ring of his phone. pulling off of the window seal he looked at it and noticed who it was from. reading it he chuckled.
' more than you know' he sent back.
-
Armand called each students names quickly, placing his rollsheet next to his weapon quickly and carelessly. "Everyone shall line into two lines. Females to my right, and males to my left. I expect we shall have more males than females, so later we shall place males against other males. In a battle, all enemies are equal, and chivalry has no value." He let the students line up, looking bleakly to the first two of the lines, one of which was Blair, who had quite quickly jumped to the front. "Students may use outside weapons and merge in skills from other classes, in fact it is recommended. However, you've no permission to lethally hurt another student. After your battle, you shall let the next students compete, and I shall tell you your flaws. Over this class, we shall work on each of your strengths and weaknesses. Am I clear?"
-
Cassandra nods and says with the rest of the class "YES SIR!" and sees Blair standing two people down on her left. /oh my goodness..... i should have brought my things.../
-
Nash didn't use any weapons, because he was his own weapon. He stood in line cracking his knuckles and hopping back and forth. Stretching out his back and shoulders, and cracked his neck left and then right, because this time he was going to make sure he was super limber. He had wrapped his wrist up with a little extra tape today so they had some more support. "Let's do this!"
-
"Clear." Dingo said to the teacher, standing by Nash in line. He cracked his knuckles and neck and stretched out his legs. He scoped out everyone in the female line, and a heavy grin grew on his face when he saw Cassandra standing directly across from him.
-
Cassandra recognized Dingo and smiles a bit. /oh dear..... just relax.. relax... just let it flow naturally.... don't force it../ Cassandra says to her self to keep from freezing up.
-
"aw!!!! if i had known we could use weapons i would have brought my dual-manrikigusari !!!" >:( (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kusari-fundo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kusari-fundo))
T_T but....
i left them in my room. :/
oh well. :S
maybe tomorrow. :)
-
Nash looked across the room to the line of females and noticed Blair was across from him. The girl that Dingo had said was cute, and who they had one encounter with. He scoffed a little bit, but was ready to take her on. She was in this class after all. She should be ready for a fight.
-
*raises hand*"wait what do you mean chivalry-..........."i am cut short as then i realize what he ment all along." no. no way am i fighting a female."
-
Blair opened her Basic Magic book, reading a small section carefully and then gently tossing it to the side. She walked forward, standing in the middle of one side on the center of the arena. Professor Dyseli looked to the two, and Blair manefested her light blue aura. She looked to Nash quietly, waiting for the professor to let them begin.
-
(Instant message RPing between Gen and myself. I've left the name and time labels on to distinguish the differences.)
Gen 9:30 PM
Blair stood quietly, letting her aura flow down from her head in its light hue. She stares to Nash, waiting.
Katayida 9:32 PM
Nash clapped his wrapped hands together and jerked his head left and then right, swinging his elbows out and then back in, as he hopped up onto the mat. His nose was pointed more towards the ground and he looked up at Blair with intimidating dark eyes, and then glanced over at their teacher. After he gave them the go ahead Nash simply lunged himself forward with his right forearm in front of his face to further intimidate Blair, and to see what she would do.
Gen 9:37 PM
Blair watches his sudden move forward, dashing back and to the left as a reflex, dodging a hit that wasn't going to her. She bite her lip, holding still and watching her opponent. Her aura remained where she was before, more flowing from her temples. She relaxed herself, more flowing out as she watched Nash. Her aura was almost like mist, and quickly became a light fog.
Katayida 9:42 PM
Nash was now right in front of Blair's aura, and was quite confused by the fact that it didn't move with her. He moved back and away from it, remembering what he learned the day before about magic, and went in at her once again. He came at her in the same fashion as he had before, except this time he stopped short and rotated on his left leg, sending his right shin flying towards Blair's thigh.
Gen 9:48 PM
Blair jumped back in caution, her aura slowly moving towards Nash. She continued a graceful image, breathing calm and moving swift and silently. "Let me see... Let us try something I read in the book, that'll be fun!" She said softly, letting out a slightly twisted giggle. She placed her hands out, humming softly. Her aura began to shroud around Nash, spinning itself into a ring as she watched him, focusing fully on her spell.
Katayida 9:51 PM
Nash tried his best to break up Blair's aura by flailing his arms through it, but it was around him, and there wasn't much he could do about it. His expression grew completely cold, and he let out a growl in Blair's direction. "Come on! Hit me! This is a fight!" He shouted at her, and went towards her once again, but this time throwing a right hook.
Gen 9:59 PM
She shook her head, letting the aura surround her opponent. She breathed out as he came towards her, the ring glowing bright around Nash and forming 5 rays which hit him. The rays were thin, but they induced the feeling of being stung when they hit, and were barely able to cut through his clothes. Blair quickly jumped back after doing so, wincing as she moved a second to late, resulting in the contact between Nash's fist and her.
Katayida 10:03 PM
The bright flash of the rays temporarily blinded Nash, and he could feel tingling, from the rays hitting him. It felt awful, even if it was weak, and after he felt the contact he pulled his body back and far away from her. He rubbed his arms, and his chest to make the tingling feeling go away. He looked over at her wondering what the hell she just did to him, but gritted his teeth and then charged at her in an attempt to tackle her.
Gen 10:16 PM
She gulped and released her energy in another bright light before jumping away, this time the energy pushing him away from her original position. This followed with some more light tears, accompanied by an overcoming feeling of euphoria, that faded several seconds later. Blair let out several long breaths, clasping her hands together softly as she found herself beginning to reach a limit of aura to push out.
Katayida 10:34 PM
Nash's eyes opened widely as the wall of energy hit him, and knocked him backwards. He tumbled backward and landed on his stomach. He laid there for a second, before pushing himself up, slowly back onto both feet. He stood with his eyes closed and started breathing deeper and deeper through his mouth. Suddenly there was a spark that ignited at the top of his head between his ears and a dark blue aura appeared around his entire body. "Fine, I'll play it your way," he said under his breath as his anger built in his mind, and throughout his body. The aura growing darker and deeper around him, if he wasn't a white wolf he would almost be invisible within it. He then brought his hands up to his head and rolled his paws off and over his ears, down his neck and into the center of his chest. His right hand staying present on his chest, and his left hand reached across his right shoulder, pulling his dark energy into a huge ball and down into his left hand. He passed it to his right hand, and opened his eyes, a lighter left over aura still surrounding him. His breathing was aggressive and he brought his right arm back, and wound up like a major league baseball player would pitch a fastball. He released the raging dark ball of energy from his finger tips directly at Blair, and fell to his knees, catching himself with that same right hand to prevent himself from hitting the ground. Knuckles clenched.
Gen 10:42 PM
She gulped and gathered her energy into a concentration, making a shield just in time for the mass of energy. For a while, this was successful, however her reservoirs of energy ran out after a while of holding it back, and her shield vanished into a fine crystalline mist. The damage of the energy was severely reduced, however Blair was tossed back like a rag doll from its force. Her dress was ripped and an intense pain filled her, making her tremble and cough loudly. Professor Dyseli stepped in, raising both arms. "This is over, Nash is the victor. Blair shall have an examination to make sure she is fine. If not," He looked to Nash sternly, "You shall have consequences."
Katayida 10:49 PM
Nash's eyes jumped around rapidly as Blair flew back from the attack he fired at her. His remaining aura sucked back into his body, and he stood drop jawed until Professor Dyseli came over and told him that he'd have consequences to deal with if she was severely hurt. He hoped she wasn't severely hurt, that wasn't his intention. "....yessir...." he said quietly and stepped off the mat practically running to the back of the room to sit against the wall. He stared at his hands wondering what this power was inside of him, and suddenly he felt overwhelmed with exhaustion an his body collapsed into a heap against the cold gym wall.

(Kaya and I did it over IRC)
Kaya
*Cassandra stepped forward onto the mat in front of Dingo* lets get the going shall we?
Dingo
Dingo was nervous about fighting a girl, as he didnt really have any experience in doing so. Not sure he would be able to bring himself to use his fists he decided to focus on broadening his abilities of magic. He activated his dark blue aura and stepped forward onto the mat right infront of Cassandra. "Agreed, and just a heads up, i'm not going easy on you."
Kaya
*cassandra clasps her hands together and she tries to focus her mind on the fight, nothing else, no fear nothing but her oppoinent. Her aura flows around her and she opens her eyes and smiles darkly.* mmm and now why would i expect you to do something like that?" * Cassandra's entire manner shifted from the shy timid girl into a cool collected calm.*
*she bows slightly* "you may make the first move sir."
Dingo
Her response to his last sarcastic comment made Dingo's ears fall back in intimidation. He might have to go hard on her now. Dingo stepped forward in response to her order and noticed his aura was always one move ahead of him, like it could read his mind. He balled his fists and tried something. He swung at Cassandra's aura and focused hard on what hewanted his aura to do. A shadowy claw appeared from the back of his paw extending his reach. The shadowy mass swiped towards her.
Kaya
*Cassandra smiles and just lets her instincts take over. She dodges the attach and hooks her foot behind Dingos and at that point of contact Cassandra gets a jolt of Dingo's Aura and quickly moves back.* "mmm that was intresting to say the least" *Cassandra says calmly but seems to be favoring the foot she tried tripping Dingo with. She clasps her hands in a..different manner. her aura shifts slightly and when she holds out her hand, her aura is covering her left hand in a glove like manner. Cassandra takes a swipe at Dingo.*
Dingo
Dingo put up his arm to block the attack, not as quickly as he'd hoped though. He was still surprised about what he had just discovered. Cassandra's swipe hit Dingo's arm covering his head and caused him to stagger and lose balance. He saw his aura in front of him every step of the way, perfectly outlining his body like a shadowy clone telling the future...as he fell to the floor. He slowly got his feet and wiped the small amount of blood coming from his mouth. He stepped towards Cassandra ready to throw out a punch combo when suddenly a large explosion occured a couple mats down. He looked over and saw Blair on the floor, and a look of horror on Nash's face.
Kaya
*Cassandra loses her focus of a split second and her aura vanishes and she shakes her head and looks where dingo is looking.* "oh gawd what happened over there? Do you think...n-no. .that c-cant happen in school.." *Cassandra is "her self" again and is looking over towards blair and nash worried.*
Dingo turned from Cassandra and they both started pacing over towards the commotion. "Hey, what happened?" He asked when he found Nash by the doors.
-
"well i for one refuse to fight a girl, i will dodge but i shall not attack" i proclaimed loudly, glad that i had a high pain tolerence.
-
Professor Dyseli shook his head at the white wolf, "Then get the hell of my matt. You're wasting my time." He sighed and looked to Blair, who had gotten up and began to dust off her dress. She looked back quietly. "Your flaw is arrogance. Go see Professor Dawn, she's in here to tutor. However, if you get hurt severely, it is not my fault." He looked to Nash, beckoning him, Dingo, and Cassandra over. "As I told Miss Avery, the magic professor is doing some tutoring right now. We've half an hour left, so you should be able to learn something." He looked to Cassandra and Dingo. "Over confidence and arrogance are flaws." To Nash, "Forming expectations if your flaw. Now all of you go. Anyone who wants tuttoring may attend."
Blair nodded quietly, and gulped, walking to Dawn quietly.
-
aeron stood and looked the professor in the eyes unblinking, "i did not say that i wished not to fight." he said, pissed off.
-
He returned the look to the wolf, blank and stern. "And I said that you would fight someone of the opposite sex, tough guy. However, you said you wouldn't. So get off my mat, stop defying me, and stop wasting your classmate's time." He said and continued to watch the other students, making mental notes of their flaws.
-
Nash got up trembling slightly from what he had just done to Blair, and the energy that was sapped from his body. He walked shakily over to where Professor Dawn was and looked at her with puppy eyes. "I....I didn't know that would....happen...." He stood toying with his hands trying to figure out the best way to explain that he really didn't mean to hurt Blair, and hoped that he hadn't.
-
and if i refuse? aeron replied coldly staring unblinking at professor dyseli, i thought about the possibility of challenging him to a fight, [he's a big guy, probably more brawn than anything, i have my speed and agility as an advantage] aeron thought to himself, [if im lucky and he is what he appears to be then i could win]
-
"Then I'll call security and you run the risk of being expelled." He growled to the wolf, attempting to continue taking mental notes on the other student's methods.
"It is fine," Dawn said to Nash kindly before turning her attention to the group of students. "Now each of you has a few obstacles to overcome. Including control and how to properly channel power. So I assume you two men have chosen dark attribute, Blair light, and Cassandra is attributeless, correct? It seems the majority will be control, and Blair will be attempting to learn how to put power into her attacks."
-
what if i were to challenge you to a fight? aeron asked coldly.
-
"No. I gave you an opponent and you attempted to make a statement by refusing. Now get off my mat before I call security."
-
well ok, fine i guess its true what they say.........those who cant fight, teach. aeron said slyly, getting off the mat.
-
"And those who cannot control their arrogance live quite the lonely life, as I'm sure you know from first hand experience." He mused, taking two students to himself to tell them where they'd need to improve.
-
aeron thought to himself yes, professor dyseli was right, but in the wrong way.he was lonley all his life, but not for his arrogance. everyone he loved had died as he watched.{flashback time!!!now.}all dead. at least to him. his mother was a gentle and caring she-wolf, he remembered all the great times he had spent with her and his older brother, the times they would all go to the local pond and watch the ducks, me hoping to catch one for a snack, and my brother laughing when i got bit by the mother goose while i was still a pup.but then there was my father, he was a shrrg, a giant arctic. he regularly tried to run me and my brother off as pups by fighting us, one day my brother ran.
i followed.
we saw them occaisionaly after that, i always wanted to go back, but my brother said no.
we drifted apart and went our seperate ways.
he was seperated from me by a human family, kind to him, but they wanted nothing to do with me.
we slowly lost touch.
then he too was dead to me.
there is only one person left in this world who i hold on to.
aspen.
the girl of my dreams, the one who i would spend my life with.
if only i could find her.......
{flashback end}
(all true (relativley at least) execpt the part about aspen)
(heres what happened: http://caselaw.findlaw.com/nc-court-of-appeals/1352350.html (http://caselaw.findlaw.com/nc-court-of-appeals/1352350.html)

-
Dingo did as the teacher suggested and went to the magic tutor. "Maybe they could explain the subject more in depth, I have a power here that I'm quite afraid of." He thought to himself after watching what happened to Blair.
-
Nash could only stand quietly as Professor Dawn said what she needed to say. After Dingo spoke up he nodded and looked to Blair, hoping that she was okay. There was still no word on if anything was broken or torn, and he was a little frightened to bring that kind of power from himself again. He looked down at his still trembling white paws, noticing the tips of his black claws were covered in a black dust, or maybe even ash.
-
CAssandra went as well and follows after dingo. "Um Dingo? Do you think Blair will be ok?"
-
areon left depressed and sulking.obviously in deep thought about his past.
-
Professor Dyseli continued his teaching, instructing several students to Dawn.
Dawn looked to her students and coughed loudly, clearing her throat. "If you're able to, release your auras. Spread out so you do not mix your auras." She said quietly, releasing her own light mist around her.
Blair followed the statement, moving away so she could release what of her aura she had left. She moved back a bit further to pick up her book, scanning through it as her almost white aura fogged around her, very dense.
-
just a question , i dont know how to summon my aura yet, but what happens if they mix? aeron asked
-
Nash attempted to bring his aura out, but because of the force he exerted during the attack on Blair he couldn't bring it out. He tried again and then collapsed onto the floor in a weakened state. "I think I need to rest Professor. That took a lot out of me." Nash, the tough guy, was completely sapped and feeling broken, guilty, and shamed.
-
"Basically you have to exert time mental energy into the physical form. To do this you have to open your mind. Furthermore, I wish to be able to identify everyone's aura." She said to Aeron and then looked to Nash quietly. "Go rest to the side. Simply watch." She pulled out a small dummy and placed it at the front of the crowd, then another to the other three sides. She cast shields around each, her own aura glowing over them. "Attack the dummies with your magic, one at a time please. How much of the shielding will show how strong you are."
Blair sat down in the middle of her fog-like aura, humming to herself. She continued to read from the book of magic, her aura condensing into a glass like thickness around her. It formed a large and beautiful lotus composed of her condensed aura. She hummed, looking at the inside of her beautiful creation. She continued to read, looking for ways to make it attack. The lotus was beautiful, but lacked function.
-
"open my mind? :?
ok ill try". aeron said confused and unsure.
aeron sat still and concentrated, as he attempted to block out every sound and thought, he quickly became tired and opened his eyes.
"its not wor-"
it was then aeron caught sight of his paws.
they looked no different than before, yet nothing like before, they were the same hands and looked the exact same, the only difference was his snow-white fur now appeared the deepest black of twilight, aeron noticed that he had no mist around him as the others did. aeron yelped in suprise and the black on his fur slowly faded.
-
"Dont worry, im sure she will be okay. The teachers seem so unsurprised that i feel this has happened multiple times before." Dingo said to Cassandra.
He joined the rest of the class and went over to Dawn for some tutoring. He did as she instructed, and brought out his aura with ease. He looked up and focused on the target, and a tunnel-like vision of purple mist swirled around his sight. He brought his paw up to his face and made a fist out of it. He could feel something growing inside as he focused. It wasnt a solid, but felt like magnets of opposite charge were pushing against it. He could squeeze whatever it was in his hand, but only to a certain extent. He looked at the dummy again, and quickly flung his arm out opening his hand as he aimed. The purple ball of energy hit the target and dispersed around it like a cloud.
-
Dawn nodded and watched the students as Professor Dyseli said, watching each for an interval of time. Blair's aura, which had formed a bloomed lotus flower around her, began to disperse itself into vines from the tip of each petal. Each wrapped around the dummy near her and squeezed tightly, the loud sound of shattering glass filling the room as she broke the shield around the dummy, the bright white vines shattering with the shield, while her aura's form became very thin. Dawn looked to Dingo as he showed his own abilities, then looking to Blair.
"Dingo, a lot of power but lack of area, very offensive. Blair, lot of area, but your magic itself is weak in terms of itself but it can be refined into very hard material. Defensive."
-
still shocked aeron asked in a trembling voice "w-was that my aura?" "w-why is it so dark.......... and so........... so different?" aeron asked aloud.
-
Nash nodded and when he felt the strength to do so, he got up off the floor and moved to the side of the room and sat down, leaning against the wall. He was starting to feel some of his energy come back but he was in need of some food, or ten energy drinks before his afternoon classes.
He watched as Blair, and Dingo preformed their attacks. Blair's attack doing well and made him feel at ease that he hadn't injured her severely.
-
Dingo finished his attacks a looked at the clock. Panting he walked over to Nash.
"Hey, its about time for our next class, you wanna stop and get a snack really quick in between bells?"
-
aeron looked at dawn "can i try now?"aeron asked nervously, anticipating the oppurtunity to test this newly found ability.
-
"First, let me explain that the form everyone's aura takes is different. That is why yours was different. Now show me quickly please, I need to get another cup of tea before my next class." Dawn said as she smiled kindly and tiredly, generating another shield around the nearest dummy.
Blair got up and looked to Dingo and Nash. She walked in front of Nash to see him face to face. "You owe me, for humiliating me. Just going to let you know now, that I want a conpletelt one on one rematch in the future. No spectators, just you and I having a proper battle." She said softly, looking away to see where she would be going, very unsure of where or who she would being going to or with.
-
aeron concentrated once more as he attempted to block out all his thoughts and distractions,he felt himself getting a little tired, he opened his eyes and looked at his paws, it was there* [what do i do now?] aeron thought [hmm maybe....]
*aeron closed his eyes once more and this time blocked out everything but the thought of a disc, he opened his eyes still concentrating, he watched in amazement as his aura slid towards his right paw collecting in the shape of a disc, just as he had pictured it. after the last of his aura had retreated towards the disc in his paw he summoned all of his strength and hurled it at the dummy, putting a fast clockwise spin on it. he thought still concentrating about the disc cutting through the shield* as it went closer the spin seemed to be increasing. it impacted the sheild with a loud wailing scrape as it impacted it continued to spin cutting into the sheild for a good thirty seconds, speed decreasing slowly at first then faster as the seconds dragged by.
then it stopped.
it didnt dissapate.
then the sheild crached and shattered with the sound of a hundred panes of glass.
the disk fell to the floor and the instant it touched it dissapated.
"Hah!"aeron exclaimed.
then everything went black.
-
Nash looked up and Dingo and got up from his seated position, "yeah, man, I'm starving." Just then Blair walked over to the two of them and she got in Nash's face. "I owe you shit, but if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get." Nash felt his blood boil when she confronted him because the attack had frightened him, and made him feel ashamed on the inside, yet she felt humiliated? He growled showing his fangs, and clenched his fists, "come on Dingo, lets get out of here." With that he grabbed his backpack and stormed out of the gymnasium and straight to the cafeteria, flinging open the door with power, nearly breaking the glass. He hadn't turned back to see if Dingo was following him or not, but he sure hoped he was.
-
Dingo felt his blood run cold when Nash scolded Blair. He glanced at her quickly after Nash stormed out. "I...uh...im glad youre okay." He said hanging his head. He sighed and walked out the door. He spotted Nash in the cafeteria and walked up beside him, not making eye contact.
"You do realize she's upset because you beat her at her own game, so to speak. Lets face it, you dont know crap about magic compared to her."
-
"I don't care," Nash said through clenched teeth. His fists still balled up, and his breathing slightly heavy. He rolled his eyes back in his head for a brief moment, and then took a deep breath and exhaled forcefully through his nostrils. He centered himself and ordered two orders of chicken strips, and a large red bull. "No one bothered to ask me if I was okay after that fight. No one cared." He looked down and away from Dingo, he was disgusted with himself, with what had just come out of his mouth. "Let's go off campus again tonight. I need to get away from this place."
-
Dingo didnt order anything and just walked beside Nash as he picked up his food.
"Dont take it personally. Its just the whole gender role thing. Of course the girl is going to get all of the attention. You...are okay, arent you?"
-
Nash sat down at a table and cracked open his energy drink, gulping down half of it before breaking into his first tray of chicken strips. "Physically, I guess I'm fine," he took a large bite of one of the strips chewing and swallowing it, "Mentally, no, I'm not okay." He said with kind of a soft snarl on his lip as he ripped into another chicken strip. "Want some from my other tray, my eyes are bigger than my stomach." Nash downed the other half of the energy drink without thinking about it, "What if I had killed her, Dingo? I don't 'do' magic. I just fight. I'm a danger with my kind of power."
-
Dingo graciously took a chicken strip to nibble on.
"We better get walking to our next class. And you should save some room for when its actually lunch." He said laughing. "Its only our second day. You have plenty to learn about magic anyway. Blair wants to fight you now, im not going to be surprised when one of you get seriously injured."
Dingo pushed his chair out after gulping down the last piece of chicken and stood up.
-
Nash finished his last chicken strip and got up from the table. "Magic class is next, I needed to refuel." Throwing his trash away he walked towards the door with Dingo.
-
Blair watched the two storm off after she spoke and she frowned slightly. "I didn't mean it like that... Guys are so emotional..." She said to herself and frowned slightly, following them out of the gym and then leaving to the Charm dorm alone. I'm nice enough either... She thought to herself as she bit her lip, scorning herself for trying to be friendly but failing almost completely.
Professor watched Aeron's example and nodded, hearing a loud thud as he fell to the floor. She looked to Dyseli quietly. "This child is rather rude and stubborn... I'll get security to get him." Dawn nodded as the campus security came and took Aeron to the infermery.
(Should we just skip 3rd period for everyone? The big classes are mostly 4th period.)
-
Dingo lead Nash out of the cafeteria and into the grotto towards magic class. It was a clear day, but windy and dry. They entered the magic hall and found the classroom.
"So, you were talking about going out tonight. What did you have in mind?"
-
aeron came to about thirty minutes later too tired to move "w-what h-happened?" he asked in a weak voice attempting to sound strong the last thing he remembered was the sound of shattering glass and then......darkness he tried to sit up but could not summon the strenght to lift him self one inch. the bell for the end of third period rang "hey can some one get me a case of red bull out of my room and put me on a 5% epinefrin intrevenous drip, i need my energy back and fast. god knows i'll pay for it later though"
-
Nash looked at Dingo and the empty magic classroom. "Huh, I guess class was cancelled today. Means we have a bit of time to relax before the next one." He waved to Dingo to follow him back outside, and go sit in the terrace for a bit to absorb the sunlight. "I was thinking we could go to a local hookah bar, as long as they don't card us we'll be fine."
-
"Sounds like a plan. And I dont think that will be a problem." Dingo said sitting next to Nash on the grass in the warm sun. "I think our biggest problem is actually finding one..."
-
"I was sure that I saw one when we all went out last night...if not then we can just walk around the city until curfew and discover the layout. I'm sure there's plenty for us to do outside of these walls." Nash said leaning back onto his elbows, "y'know, my wrist feels great today."
-
"Thats good, now you just need to keep it that way so you can be ready for your fight." Dingo said rolling up his sleeves due to the heat.
"Heh, now you got me dying for some hookah..."
-
after aeron had got his energy drinks and his adrenaline drip, he decided to head to the cafeteria real quick to get somthing that would sustain his energy longer than caffeine and adrenaline. on his way there he passed by dingo and nash it was then he herd the magic word "bar". he snuck up behind the two and cleared his throat. *points to ears* "sorry guys i couldnt help but over hear your plans for tonight, was wondering if you would let me come along? we didnt get the best start as friends so let me make it up to you guys, drinks are on me "
-
Nash looked up at Aeron, and then shifted his eyes over to Dingo. "We're not going to a drinking bar, we're going to a hookah bar. We're too young to drink in an actual bar without serious implications. In the dorms though...." Nash started to get ideas, but shook his head, knowing that if any of them were caught they would be expelled. "Nevermind that....Dingo?"
-
"well ill still pay for you guys.....if you let me come.....since im a wolf they cant really tell my age....besides i konw some one at this one bar......"
-
Blair sighed softly and sat on a bench, looking out to the sunny and peaceful grass area. Loneliness. The word she tagged for her emotion. Deserved loneliness.. Why can't you be kind say everything as nicely as possible?[/color] She thought to herself and hugged her book, listening to pthers speak of the lack of third period. She had no one to spend it with, and she got up from the bench and began to walk to the Charm dorm.
-
A grin grew across Dingo's face. He looked at Nash and shrugged his shoulders.
"Aeron, would your friend at this bar let you...take something to go? We could bring something back to the room after the hookah bar."
-
"oh she will, but she knows she cant say no to me" oh she works at a hookah bar called the blach hat .
-
Cassandra was thinking about asking to maybe hang out with Blair and when she saw her going to leave, she cleared her throat. "uh.. e-excuse me..um Blair was it? Ua.... w-would you like to well.. go with me to get something to eat before fourth period?" Cassandra asked nervously. Out of habit she is looking down at the ground, and trembling a little waiting for the expected 'no go away i am bussy' she always used to get.
-
Blair stopped and laughed a bit, looking to Cassandra. "I'd love to, but please don't be so shy. I'm not that intimidating, I swear. I just make mistakes." She smiled a bit as she said so, looking to Cassandra kindly.
-
"Sorry.. I am just used to being brushed off. So what do you mainly like to eat? Chinese, anything else? Any place you like in-particular?" Cassandra asked as she pulls out her phone and opens up a minny on screen map of the area with the close restaurants and eateries marked.
-
sigma sat up and looked around, grabbing his phone from the window seal. opening the contacts and higlighting kayas number typed
//sorry to bug you but what have i missed?//
-
Cassandra looks down at her phone surprised when it buzzes and Sigma'a number appeared. /nothing much.. well ok you missed A LOT .. we worked on fighting with our aura's and finding out what we were, defensive or offensive.. two other students got in a fight.. and a bit of work... i can fill you in later.. wait would you like to join me and Blair for lunch? 3rd period was canceled../
-
"YES!" he screamed.
// can you come by the dorm and pick me up? //
-
CAssandra looked over at Blair. "Would you mind if we dropped by the dorms to pick up my room mate?"
-
"They serve alcohol there too huh. Hmm, hopefully we can get in still. What do ya say Nash?" Dingo asked looking over at him.
-
"well I'll get us in....... the owners daughter has a major crush on me....."
-
Nash looked at Dingo and then back up to Aeron, "Alright, it's on. We'll go out tonight. Have a good time." He sat back with a grin on his face, he would need to make sure that he got his fur as white and clean as it would go. He had a special shampoo for that, and other things to make himself look fantastic. He felt the ego boost bring himself upward in spirits.
-
Dingo smiled and then laid down the grass. "a fun night indeed" he though to himself. "Alright then gentlemen, where shall we meet?"
-
"we will meet at the front gate at 7:00" aeron announced
"tonight boys, WE PARTY!!!!!"
-
"I don't mind, any food is fine really," She said, watching Cassandra text away. When she was asked if she minded her roommate, Blair responded with, "I don't mind at all."
-
sigma got ready changing into a clean pair of black windpants, and a white shirt. pulling his tail out and making sure its comfortable. //cant wait!//
-
"Oh thank you so much. I am sure it wont be a problem. Mmmmm shall we get going then?" Cassandra is smiling excitedly and begins to start toward the dorms. " I haven't talked to him much... he has always ether been asleep or in the bathroom. I think the poor guy was sick, " she babbled trying to contain her excitement at how easy it seemed to talk to everyone around here.
-
"We have a curfue of 9pm, lets not forget that. If we're back on time, no one will think anything suspicious of us." Nash jerked his head back a little bit, shocked at what had just come out of his mouth. He was never one to be cautious about anything, that was Dingo's role. He blinked and raised his eyebrows, and then just shrugged at his inner monolouge.
-
"Okay, so we have exactly two hours from the time we meet at the gate to get back, thats plenty of time." Dingo said. "Even if things dont go as planned, I think sneaking in unnoticed shouldnt be too hard. With three of us these gates seem easily scalable. " He looked around and noticed people coming out of the cafeteria. "How much time we got left guys?" He asked.
-
"Alright, then." She said softly and continued to walk with Cassandra. She partly listened to her speak and partly looked off. It wasn't that she wasn't interested, it was just that she didn't know what to say, for once in her life. Cassandra had fulfilled the wish for company, and Blair didn't wish to mess it up.
-
Within a few minuets Blair and Cassandra make it to the dorms and Cassandra leads Blair to her dorm room and knocks on the door. "Sigma, we're here! ya decent?" she yells through the door, and waits for the answer.
-
aeron shrugged his shoulders "i dont know, i don't have a watch"
-
(hopes this hasent died.... i would cry if it did....)
-
//I'm sedentary yes// sigma said grabbing his bag. //and wat about 4th hour//
-
cassandra shrugged* I don't think we have fourth hour today.
-
//works for me// sigma said, //so were we gonna eat? im starving//
-
