You know for me, that really depends on the level of success. For me, the lowest one would be selling 50,000-100,000 copies of my novel. That way, I'd have enough money to move back out on my own and STAY out for roughly seven years assuming I didn't do anything else to attain additional income. And considering that my novel is the first in a series of six, yeah, I'd be just fine. :)

Success would be to die and feel all right about it. Not because of depression, but because I've done what I wanted to do in life and I've left no loose strings.

Success for me would be obtaining all the goals on my life's "To Do List"

Just two things:

- Become more social in real life (currently I'm just a super-hermit with barely any IRL friends and just about no physical contact with them at all).

- Get a better job than the one I have now.

Frankly, I don't care if I achieve my goal of becoming a theoretical physicist or end up working at a gas station for the rest of my life. I'll feel successful as long as I enjoy life without harming others and die of causes other than suicide.

Finish college, find reasonable work, and find something productive to do with myself in the absence of the conventional marriage and kids scenario. Not much? Achieving my dreams or accomplishing something of great importance would be wonderful, but "success" is a much simpler thing to me.

wow... i think i can only wish myself good luck and be on my way with that one. i do also think however, that i could draw up a list of things which i'd love to achieve in my life. whether i will or not is of course another matter, as is whether they'll make me feel like i've truly succeeded in life. that being said though, here we go.

. to have toured the uk with my band, playing close to entirely my own composed music. i'd also like our album to be released by a proper record label at some point so that we can sell online and in shops instead of just at shows. more people'll come to our shows then too.

. to have one of my non-band pieces premiered by a group of somewhat esteemed musicians. i may be kinda close to this already, as a composer/ensemble leader has asked me to compose a piece for his group. hopefully he'll wanna play it once it's done, and i'll get to hear a recording.

. to have donated a sizable amount of time and effort into charities that i care about. what i deem to be sizable will obviously change as i get older and more experienced in this, but i've already sold plenty of old records for charity, and then i plan to organise some kind of charity event in the coming few months... hopefully november if i can put enough time/effort into it.

. to be alive and capable of understanding the news when we make contact with another life form of any kind... bacterial or intelligent. i think that will be perhaps the most glorious moment of human-kind

There was a time in my life where I thought "You know what? I've done it. I can die now and I'd almost be happy about it."

So yeah, I did it.

right now, make an action series and make it all happen, make at least 10+ episodes, make the movie and the game. Find an awesome girl, get loaded. Um, yeah, that's it.

For me, I'll be happy once I know people will remember who I was. I don't want to die as just another nameless pilot shot down by a SAM or something, I want there to be a legacy behind my name.
