Title: New hyena in town

Anyway, my name's Valexia, but you can call me Val or Lexi, whatever works for you.
I'm 21, attending college and majoring in art so I can become an art teacher someday soon.
I love comic books, action figures, sci-fi/fantasy/dramatic movies, some anime, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Doctor Who, and video games like the Legend of Zelda, Devil May Cry, Pokemon, ect.
I enjoy drawing and the arts in general. I've been working as an art mentor for middle school kids for quite some time, so I like my job.
I suppose I had first heard about furries from the internet in general. Lots of people say bad things, but it didn't seem that bad to me, so I thought I'd try getting into it. I don't have a mate or owner yet, but I wouldn't mind meeting one.
I've also been a closet furry for about a year or so, ehe.
So far so good.

A hyena? That's not as common around here. What makes you choose this animal?

Ehe, I suppose because I've always liked hyenas. When I was a kid I would pretend to be a hyena because of The Lion King, but I don't really think of myself as a spotted, so a striped seemed more natural to me.
Just a personal preference I suppose.
Most of the things I do upload go on my Deviantart (http://valexi.deviantart.com/), though I don't upload much furry art there because I'm still mostly in the closet about it.

I have a Furraffinity account as well, but I haven't updated it in years. Maybe I'll dust off that account and start uploading there again.

It's actually 145 x 200. Any images that are larger should automatically be sized down though.

There's nothing wrong with being a closet furry, my friends only recently found out about it a month ago when I've been a furry for about a year as well. :3

A Hyena huh? I think I've only seen one other here on the forum, but that's pretty cool! One time at Busch Gardens Tampa, the hyenas were up and about and RIGHT NEXT TO THE GLASS! That close up I can say that they're beutiful creatures, despite what they do in the wild >.>
