Rylyn sat up in her bed. Her body was dappled in sweat. Another nightmare she thought to herself as she pushed the blankets off of her and walked to the bathroom of her LA condo. She washed water over her face and looked at her scars. The nightmares only occurred a couple times a month. Her hazel eyes glistened in the dim light of the bathroom. Switching off the light, she walked to the living room and switched on the television. She looked at the clock on the wall and sighed. "Its time to get up anyway."
-
Gelidus's alarm went off at 6:00 AM. He slammed the off button and groggily got out of the bed. He had only just managed to fall asleep because of the jet leg he was experiencing from traveling to LA from Moscow. Cranky and irritable, he went to his hotel bathroom and took a cold shower to help wake himself up.
-
Chrono came up to the condo that his officer had given him the address to, as well as the person he was going to room with. 'Rylyn', must be female, wonder if she likes scotch. He put the card in his pocket as he knocked on the door, his first bottle of the day held in his left hand and already half-empty.
-
Rylyn jumped at the knocks. Who the hell comes knocking at six-thirty in the morning... She grumbled and went to the door. She was adorned in sweats and a small tank top. "Hello?" She asked squinting at the fresh LA sun as she opened the door to find a man. "Can I help you?" She insisted.
-
Chrono takes in a swig of scotch while looking at her. Mmmm, not bad. He put the bottle down and looked past her, then back down. "Yeah, my commander said I'm living here with someone named Rylyn, I'm guessing she cleans up well judging by how you look."
-
She looked at him oddly and snatched the scotch from him. "I'm Rylyn. Who's your commander? And I don't like alcoholics..." She sneered. She eyes him for a moment. Why am I sharing a condo I pay for and worked for with someone I have never met. She stepped aside to let him in.
-
Chrono seemed a bit displeased, but the smile returned before he spoke. "All soldiers that are administered Valkyr are under the same commander, and since I got tranferred from the state of Alaska to Los Angeles California, I naturally have no home here. So, he said I would share a condo with someone, and their rent will be paid for housing me. My name is Chrono."
-
Her gaze softened. "Come in Chrono," She offered. She walked back to her couch and sat down. Rylyn gave a giant yawn and looked at Chrono. "I suppose I should give you a tour." She got up and sauntered to the kitchen, which was opened to the living room and dining room. She then showed Chrono to his new room. It was smaller than her own but was already furnished and ready. "There is a bathroom across the hall. My room is toward the back. There is also an exclusive pool for my condo, and beach front view. So Enjoy. She slipped past him and left him to set his room up.
-
If she paid any attention, he basically had nothing on him except a duffel bag full of clothes, and the bottle of scotch she had already gotten rid of. "So, how often are your nightmares, or did your exposure do nothing as well?" He set his bag down and sorted out his clothes, placing them in separate drawers.
-
Gelidus got out of the shower, brushed his teeth and combed his fur. He put on a nice suit and a tie and walked out the door. He went down the elevator and started heading to his rental car. The hostess was on his pathway to the parking garage. She gave him a pleasant, "Good Morning!" He ignored her and continued to the car. The first place he drove to was a coffee drive-thru just around the corner. He ordered five shots on ice, payed for it, and drove off.
-
"I get two to three every month if you must know..." Her words were cold as she tensed up. She looked at him. "You're one of the lucky ones." She got up and went to the kitchen. She pulled out a small vile of blue liquid; Valkyr. She placed it in a syringe and into her arm. "Sadly I take a shot once a day. The nightmares seem to stay sedated when I do." She wiped off the small trace of blood and walked over to Chrono. "So why exactly are we bunking together?"
-
"You can talk to our commander if you want, he just gave me the address and the person who lived here." He stood back up without pushing off the floor with his hands, and sat down on the bed before looking at Rylyn. "If you want what he told me, he thought I would be too attractive to most women, and would probably get into fights with all of the other males. 'Under this logic, I decided to send you to a woman that I'll believe will castrate you the moment you try anything.' I don't know what he saw in you, but at first glance I'm guessing three-hundred to four hundred is all it takes to hold you down."
-
Gelidus drove up to Los Angeles Air Force Base, showed the guard his international access pass and continued to the base headquarters. He walked in, went up the stairs and went down the hall to his right. There was the base commander, along with the commander of the Valkyr project, and a few other officers waiting in the conference room. He took his things and got his presentation ready.
He sipped his coffee and began. "I, as well as everyone else, are here to discuss the advancement of the Valkyr project. As you all know Russia and the US have been in partial collaboration in it's refinement. I have come to you all to once again explain the Russian's advancement of the project. Unlike when I usually appear every month, I have significant news. We have created a strand of the drug that we belief to remove the current side-effects of the drug in use, as well as prevent any more negative effect. This will leave only the positive effect that we are all looking for. Now I will use my presentation to explain just how that's possible..."
-
Irian walked down the dark alleyway, hearing the sounds of wings above him, beating heavily to keep the creature in place above him. It was unusually cold for a Los Angeles night in the summer, he ignored the black winged monster following him, and the shadows moving about the alleyway. He curled up near a dumpster and pulled his hood over his head and eyes, closing them to try and get some much needed sleep.
-
Gelidus's presentation was about half-way through:
"...In order to test this drug, I'll need at least five participants who are already taking the original Valkyr drug. We would also like to have someone from the 1% that doesn't suffer from the negative side-effects join in the study. I will stay in the states for the next month in order to keep track of the American subjects. I'll work in cooperation with the American scientists in the research facility here in LA. Russia is already testing some of their soldiers, but we would find it best if we could test soldiers from both countries. I trust you will be able to supply volunteers General Patterson?" The general shifted his body and responded "I'll find volunteers from my soldiers and send them to the research facility by the end of tomorrow."
-
Irian woke up around 10am, exhausted from sleeping on the hard concrete, he stood up and with a mighty yawn stretched his sore body. With the shake of his fur he looked up and walked out of the dirty alley, ignoring the slithering creatures on the ground near him.
-
Rylyn grumbled. "Unlike you, the drug has effected me.y strength has increased. So no three or four hundred won't keep me down." she smirked and looked at the television.
-
Chrono just rolled his eyes, tossing his duffel bag next to the drawer before stretching and leaning back on his bed. "Wow, you're the second person to say that it didn't affect me, all those other scientists say its still in my system and think my lack of outbursts is a part of it. One of them theorized that my body is now making its own Valkyr, which is why I wouldn't feel any different, but the rest just snickered and chuckled."
-
"...That conclude my presentation. If any of you have any question, you have my contact information. I'm off to lunch and then I'll be in the research facility for the rest of the day, as well every day while I am here."
Gelidus gathers his things, saying nothing. He says nothing to those in the room until he is on his way out. He turned his head around his shoulder and spoke. "General Patterson, I certainly hope you can phone those volunteers as soon as possible. The way the Americans do research is quite bothersome, and I would like to be occupied on my own projects as often as possible." Gelidus walked out the door before giving the him a chance to respond.
-
The time was roughly ten in the morning when Gen strolled down the street. He had been walking around for quite a while, gathering all the information he could through eavesdropping. His gem-like blue eyes glancing around the alleys and watching his own shadow. He was very cautious in the city, always listening to words of others. He did so at the university, gaining fragments of knowledge. Said knowledge pointed him to an alleyway in the city, rumors stating a mentally disturbed man made it a temporary sleeping area in the last few hours. He continued to watch the alleyways pass; his ears picking up several pieces of information. He closed his eyes while he walked, his hair flowing behind him and his hands in his pockets. He continued to walk his path, very tense, but pretending to be calm. He never felt comfortable in the city, and probably never would.
He let out a soft gasp as he ran into the front of a grey wolf, who had emerged from an alleyway. Looking up at him, he kept his facial expression blank, and he stopped dead in the street, a few feet from the wolf. "I apologize." He said in his cold voice, biting the inside of his bottom lip gently.
-
Irian looks at the human for a moment, looking him head to toe before giving a nod, recognizing it is not one of his normal hallucinations. He replies, rather gruffly "It is ok, it happens" Irian brushes himself off before looking around the street, his eyes adjusting to the brightness finally.
-
Gen continued his walk after nodding to the man's reply. Then his cellphone began to vibrate quietly in his pocket. "Yes...?" He spoke softly, listening to the information his friend was giving him. "Condos....? That's rather vague, there've got to be more than a hundred in the city..... Doberman...? Thank you." He hung up the phone. Rumors were the only information he could get about the location of Valkyr itself. Most were just of crazy people. He turned around and walked in the direction he had came in.
-
Rylyn sighed. Her eyes looked to Chrono. "I didnt mean to assume you were a dud. Just that u aren't affected like myself"
-
He grinned. "Compared to going to getting nightmares daily or losing any sense of whats real or fabricated, I'd rather be a dud than have it affect me at all." his ears perked up as his cell-phone rang, and he pulled his phone out of his right pocket to answer. "This is Chrono... yes sir, I did get to the address before she left the house... you want her too? Oh, its about that. Hold on, she might be busy." He put a thumb over the microphone and put the phone down. "Commander wants us back at the base by 0800, something about needing certain types of Valkyr subjects."
-
Gelidus drove up to the research facility and walked to the door. He swiped access card at the mechanism, the door opened and he entered. The clerk greeted her happily and cheerfully, "Ah, Gelidus. Nice to see you again. My boss said your temporary laboratory is in room 142. Its straight down the hall and to your left." Gelidus walked toward the hall and bluntly responded to the clerk as he walked away, "Thank you, Samantha" He grumbled to himself as he walked hmph 142...He couldn't give me the large room. Now I'm stuck in that tiny thing. I wonder what brown-noser is using the larger room.
-
Rylyn looked at the clock on the cable box. "we have an hour... I suppose p.t. with have to wait till after." she stood and walked to her room. "I'm going to change" after a few moments to exits with a tight cut off tee and a pair of tight jeans. "let's go," she said as she ran a brush through her mohawk.
-
Chrono got off the bed and left his room as he waited for Rylyn to finish changing. As she started combing her hair, he finally noticed her mohawk. "You know, helmets are more than just an accessory, at least, they're more useful now than during world war two."

Scar was sitting on his bench, with his microscope in front of him. He took a deep breath and sighed as he looked back at Mr. Gelidus' report of the Russian researches that he sent one week before presenting it to general Patterson. He raged inside as he could not beleive that the Russians were that far into creating a strand for the side effects of the Valkyr. But Scar smiled as he discovered something that the Russians were not yet to discover. If he could only talk to that Gelidus, he could explain his new discovery. Scar then looked up the time and sighed again. Ugh. Almost 2PM and I haven't quit this room since the last 10 hours to eat. I can take a break. I mean, 40 hours in three days plus an extra 20 hours. I can take a little break. It was sure a hard work for Scar to be the leader of 28 chemical researchers as well as being the most qualified scientific here, but he loved it and he just couldn't quit... Not with the salary the governament gives him each month.
Scar then took the report and walked out of room 150, the largest labratory in the research facility. He was concentrated on the report as he walked and suddently bumped in someone. Scar looked up and his eyes opened wide. Mr.... Mr. Gelidus? I can't beleive it. Just in the time I had to talk to you, I end up bumping in you. I'm actually reading your report and I see that the Russians are far ahead in the researches. But... I have found something that will shock you as it shocked me too. Mow, if you follow me, I can show you what I found. Scar walked up rapidly into the large labratory, ready to explain proudly his latest discovery to Mr.Gelidus. Who cares about lunch? he finally thought to himself
-
SHIT! I haven't even been here a minute and I've already been interrupted! Gelidus followed Scar to the laboratory. He knew Scar for the past two years, going back and forth between Russia and the US and reporting to him every few months. He just hoped that sending his report via e-mail would cause less...conversation. However, seeing as how thats not going to be the case, Gelidus sighed and responded."Please make it quick Scar. I haven't been here for more than 2 minutes. I need to get my things set up for when the applicants show up."
-
Scar looked Mr.Gelidus and nodded then strarted to explain his discovery as simple as possible. For the past month, I have been figuring out the chemical structures of the Valkyr. It is only recently that I have managed to isolate the chemical structure that caused all the brain damages to the tested soldiers. This chemical structure is almost the same as Lycergic Acid Diethylamide, or commonly called LSD. Now every chemist knows that mixing this chemical structure is almost deadly to the nervous system. But I also realised that with this structure, the positive effects are maximised, reason why why had to put that chemical structure into the Valkyr. Seeing the impatient look on Mr.Gelidus' face, Scar quickly finished his explenation with a proud but worried voice. To quickly finish, if you step and look into the microscope, you will see a sample of the Valkyr. I managed to destroy the chemical structure causing brain damages... But I also found out that by doing this, we lose about 35% of all the positive effects we are looking for onto the drug. It's like if one can't live without the other. Scar finished and looked at Mr.Gelidus, waiting stressfully his thoughts about his latest discovery.
-
Gelidus looked down the microscope. He found exactly what he was expecting "Well that certainly is interesting information. It seems you've rediscovered what I've already found out. Would you not agree that loosing 35% of the effect would be an acceptable lose in order to restore the sanity of those using it? You see, I have this exact substance in my case here. I chose not to include the fact that we will lose 35% percent efficiency of the Valkyr in my report. The generals and soldiers of both our countries wouldn't be able to tell the difference, so why tell them? Now I suggest you keep this to yourself. It would cause the most benefit to both the scientists and the soldiers if as few knew about it as possible. It's only logical, Scar. And besides, we're not even sure its going to react the way we want it to. Nothing is proven until we start testing. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get my experiment ready."
Gelidus started walking out of the room. He stopped at the door way and spoke before he continued moving "And don't call me mister. You know how I hate titles.
-
Scar looked at Gelidus who was walking out of the labratory, shoked. The greatest chemist of North America got owned by a simple scientific reporting the Valkyr project to the US and Russia. Gelidus already knew all of what Scar told him and he swore he saw a smirk on Gelidus' face as he turned to walk away. Now... Now I feel like a total stranger in my job. Pffff... That Gelidus won't get away with all this. I won't let him ruin my reputation. But Scar had to admit that Gelidus was right. Even though the Valkyr would lose 35% of it's positive effects, it was better than doing nothing as we would get rid of all the side effects of it, including the massive dependance to the Valkyr. Scar also agreed that the less the governement knew, the better it would be. Even if Scar had been torn down by that Gelidus, he promised himself to keep that information to himself.
Scar then took the time to hid the report in a drawer and then locked it safely. He walked out of room 150 and slowly walked to the facility's cafeteria. Can't beleive he knew all that from the start. Ugh... Now, I think I REALLY diserve that break. Scar was clearly talking to himself like he always do, but he didn't care as he knew the others around him wouldn't make the link between the Valkyr and what he said. Next step was to work with Gelidus on testing the candidate with the new Valkyr prototype.
-
"I dont like helmets.... Plus I haven't been over seas in 6 months. My mohawk will be ok if I put a helmet on." she smirked and walked to the fridge. Rylyn grabbed out a water bottle and walked to a door. "I'll drive." she opened the door flicking on the light. A silver camaro was exposed. The top was already down. She hit a button and the v8 engine started up as the exhaust roared with excitement.
-
Gelidus walked into room 142. He looked around and saw most of the things he needed to keep an eye on those taking the Valkyr. In it was an MRI machine, a scale, a blood pressure moniter, etc. so he could keep track of how the patients were doing. There wasn't much to set-up, save for getting the new Valkyr prepared. Gelidus just wanted an excuse to get away from Scar. He got the product ready and sat on the desk located in the corner. Everything was so cramped. There was enough room to walk, and use the equipment but nothing more than that. He pulled out his notes and began to look over them, waiting for any test subjects to show up...or for scientists to come annoy him.
-
After his lunch, Scar was convocated in general Patterson's office for his daily report. Well... We got some new things coming slowly general. I won't talk scientificly, but let's just say that I've managed to destroy the chemical structures that was causing the brain damages. My next step is now to make bigger samples of the new Valkyr prototype for our subjects. General Patterson quietly nodded and said to Scar that for the next month, he would have to work in team with Gelidus. General Patterson also pointed 3 files and asked Scar to give them to Gelidus. Scar nodded too, took the files and walked out to reach room 142. Scar also took the time to read the files and wasn't really surprised by the people General patterson chose to retest: Rylyn, Chrono Blackwyng and Irian.
Scar knocked on room's 142 door and walked in. Sorry to bother you again Mr.... I mean Gelidus. I was convocated to general Patterson's office for my daily report. No, I did not mentionned the 35% lost, don't worry about that. He also gave me those three files containing our 3 first subjects. General Patterson's choise didn't surprise me at all and 2 of the first condidates are on their way which is Chrono and Rylyn. The 3rd one is on the loose in the streets of Los Angeles, but a special army team has been charged to track him down. Scar gave the files to Gelidus and walked out silently but then turned his head towards Gelidus, smirked and said: By the way, General Patterson said that for the time you'll be in the research facility, we'd have to work together. I'll be in the big labratory preparing the new prototype... Feel free to join in anytime Gelidus. Scar said nothing more and walked back to room 150, gave his orders to the 28 chemist and started the production of the new Valkyr prototype.
-
Rylyn got into the car and opened the garage door. "Where exactly is this place anyway?" She asked looking at Chrono.
-
Chrono sat in the passenger's seat, putting his phone away and roughly combing his hair with his claws. "Some research facility near the base. He said ask for a 'Mr. Geldius' and someone named 'Scar'." He pulled down the light shield and flipped open the mirror inside, then looked at his hair before looking at Rylyn's. "If it wasn't for my fatigues, I seriously doubt any of them would think we're associated with the Military."
-
"Would you stop obsessing over my hair," she chuckled. She pulled out of the drive way and headed to the only research facility she knew of. The engine roared as they continued down the road at a fast pace. A large building appeared on the horizon. "That's it I'm guessing." She ran her left hand through her hair as she steered with her right.
-
"Hey, you rock that hairstyle more than just having fur. I just have too much fur to have a hairstyle." When they reached the facility, he nodded at her assumption. "So, you got any boy-toys I should know about, or maybe a girl?"
-
Gelidus followed Scar to room 150, with his face hardened. He approached the husky and got right in his face. "You listen here! This is my experiment! We do things my way and you report to me! I discovered this first and I'll be damned if you come in here and take this from me! You're smart, I get that. But I'm not letting some 20 year old punk tell me how to do my experiments! You can give me your advice on how we proceed and I'll decide whether we should. I'm not stupid, so I'm not going to shun you're ideas because I'm not fond of you. He looked around and saw the 28 people staring at him. He glared at them and yell "Get back to work!" The hustled to their stationed and continued working. Gelidus returned his face to the husky and stared at him, waiting for a reaction.
-
Scar, who got used to general Patterson's yelling many times in his face, didn't even moved a single paw finger and let Gelidus end up his yelling. After he yelled at the chemists, Scar just shruged and said with a calm voice: sheech... The Russians are sure annoyed easily. Yeah, whatever. But just remember one thing: this is my labratory here and I will not allow you to yell like that toward my crew. I don't know how it works in Russia, but here, we surely don't work like this. I'll let this one pass as I am responsible of that yelling but next time... Scar sighed as he noticed where this was going and added: Look, I'm totally sorry. I was just very annoyed that you had an advance on me... I think we're even now. I know we're very smart and I also know that together, we can work this out. I know Russians and Americans have different methods of working but together, we can work this well and reach something phenomenal to both governements. You include myself in your monthly reports and I'll let you the lead of the researches here. Deal? Scar took his right paw out of his white blouse and waited if Gelidus would do the same.
-
Gelidus backed away and gave Scar some space again. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. "The Russian scientists say it like it is. I like it that way. If you speak to me quickly and say exactly what you mean I don't get upset, no matter what it is you say. From now on I won't tell your scientists what to do, and I'll start showing respect to you if you do the same. Also, I don't take someones help often, and when I do I always give them credit." He reached his paw out and grasped the paw of his new research partner "I'm glad we could come to an understanding"
-
Scar was glad everything was turning positive and smiled at Gelidus. Now, let's get started. So relaying on your report, you want to give 2 shots per day of the new Valkyr prototype. 2 shots of 5mg the first week and up 5 mg each week. Now, you must also have realized that the chemical structure causing brain damages is hard to destroy. According to the proprtions, to destroy the chemical structures of 5 mg, it would take us exactly 10.1657 mg of Magnesium disulfur. How does this sounds to you so far? Scar looked up at Gelidus and patiently waited his answer. Oh and by the way, your cellphone is vibrating.
-
Gelidus spoke as he reached for his phone "Well 5mg is for someone around 90 Kilograms. Obviously we have to change it depending on each users weight. But your telling me things from my own report so what are you getting at?" He stopped to answer his phone "Hello? ...Yes, Samantha this is he...Yeah there approved to be here. Go ahead and let them in...No, no, I'm in room 150 now...OK, thank you..." He put his phone back and started speaking to Scar again "Good news, our first test subjects are here. I'll give you a tutorial on how to make the new formula later if you need it, right now we should use the amount I already have prepared. Let me get my things and we'll get started." Gelidus left the room and went back to 142 to gather his belongings from it.
-
Scar nodded at Gelidus and thanked him although to have prepared some new Valkyr prototype samples. He gathered his 28 chemists and told them that they were released for tonight. Scar then followed Gelidus in room 142, excited to reunite back with those two soldiers as he was the one administrating the first Valkyr samples to them 4 years ago. Since you are a little more experienced with those machines in room 142, I'll let you do what you have to do and watch you. I have a good memory and next time, we'll be able to take one subject each... Only if you agree though. Scar sat on Gelidus' desk, waiting the 2 subjects to come in room 142.
-
Rylyn looked at him. "Nope. No boy toys. And I dont do girls. It's not my thing." she pulled into a parking spot and killed the engine. Rylyn stepped out and hit a button on her key control. The hood raised slowly. "Let's get this over with," she sighed.
-
Chrono smiled as he got out of the car. "Oh come on, he said it might help with the side-effects. They're probably going to have me as a reference for 'unaffected'." He flashed his ID as the MP came to check on their vehicle, then turned back to Rylyn. "So does that mean I should bring some wine when I come back from work tomorrow?"
-
Rylyn smirked. "Is that your way of asking me out? Because I'm sure you could do better," she joked. She proceeded to the grand entrance of the facility. "Why are we going through this again? It's not like anything is going to change once the drug has taken it's place in the body."
-
Drake stalked into the lobby of the facility. Another day of working on things for the jarheads...god he despised them. The science division of the military had taken his life and his humanity. He looked down at his tail...he was still getting used to it. How did those anthros sit with these things?
-
Chrono went to the desk and showed his ID for a longer period so that the desk worker could get his name right. He took the slip she soon handed him, and read 'Room 142' before fixing his attention on Rylyn. "He said we're going to be testing a new form of Valkyr. As far as asking you out, I'll get a cheaper wine so I won't be broke when the check comes around. Now follow me, and make sure you have an escape planned out in case this goes south for any reason."
-
"Yeah that sounds fine. I'll need to weigh them before I can prepare anything. We'll just have to wait til they get here. I can't imagine it being much longer." Gelidus said as he leaned on the wall in the corner of the room. The air conditioning was pointed right at him. He already had all of the vials and several needles laid out on a work table next to two beds. All the vials were of different sizes, ranging from 2mg all the way up to 10 mg of the Valkyr.
-
That works with me. Scar looked up at what Gelidus had prepared and thought to himself that he was surely better in chemistry than in biology. Scar then looked straight ahead and saw a foxaroo pass in front of the clear glass walls. He smiles, said to Gelidus he'd be right back and went out of room 142 to meet his assosiate. Ah Drake. Good to see you my friend. I guess you had my message earlier this morning. The reason I wanted you to come tonight is actually help me make enough of the new Valkyr sample. I gave the night to all the scientists so we'll be alone for tonight. I'm just waiting for gelidus to get done with those 2 subjects coming in and he'll give us a start boost for the preparations. You can go eat something in the cafeteria if you want. Scar smiled to his old friend and gave him a tap on the shoulder then went back into room 142.
As he came back, he sighed and said: God those subjects are slow like a turtle. Where do they think there going? To a model show? They better hurry up to get this done. I have the samples to make with my assossiate that just came in tonight. Ugh... Gonna be a rough night again but oh well... When you're paid a million per month by the governement, I guess you shut your mouth and just do the work. Scar looked up at Gelidus, sighing again at the slowness of the subjects.
-
Drake smiled when he saw Scar come up to him. Scar was born an anthro so he didn't understand Drake's "situation", but he really bonded with Drake after his accident. Drake decided he would stay and help with the new sample.
-
"I already have one. I'm sick of being tested on as if I'm a lab rat. Its bad enough I have these nightmares. I can't live a life if they get worse." Rylyn's aggravation rose significantly. She stormed down the hall and up the stair case to the correctly marked corridor.
-
Chrono sighed as they reached the door. "How about this: I get myself exposed to the new Valkyr. If, a very big if, I get horrible flashes or show any pain, just leave, I'll get the general to have someone else take your place."
-
Scar looked straight onto the clear glass andsaw the 2 subjects finally here. He sighed in joy as the man opened the door and walked up to them to greet both of the subjects. Ah. Welcome Chrono and Rylyn. I hope you do remember me as I was the scientist in charge of your cases 4 years ago when we started to administrate the first Valkyr samples. That's a bit why general Patterson's choice did not surprise me at all. Anyway, I'm Scar and this man over there is Gelidus. He will take take care of you for today as he knows how the machine works and you'll be with us for the next month as we will test the new Valkyr sample Russia and America started to develop. Now... I think I spoke enough and I'll let Gelidus do his work while I make a call.
Scar smiled at Chrono and Rylyn and picked up his phone, dialed a number, waited and his friend Drake answered. Drake? It's me Scar. I'm just telling you that when you'll be finished in the cafeteria, you can go wait for me in room 150, the big labratory. I'll be there as soon as I'm done with Gelidus in room 142. Alright, I got that. Talk to you later. Scar smiled as he was glad to have been there for Drake when this scientist made a massive mistake into a specific chemical structure he had to change, transforming Drake into an anthro. Now Scar was back at looking Gelidus to see how he took care of the subjects.
-
Rylyn growled, "I'm not a coward. It's just ridiculous that we're lab rats. We're soldiers!" her eyes became a deep purple. The burst yrhough the lab door.
-
"You know, that could have been a real convincing argument to avoid Valkyr in the first place." Chrono then kept quiet as he listened to Scar's explanatory monologue. When the good scientist finished, Chrono looked everywhere but where the doctor was standing, then finally looked him in the eyes. "Now to be honest, working with Russians on an originally red-white-and-blue project sounds like something is bound to go wrong. Why can't England, France, or even Germany be involved?" Chrono faced Scar, and tried to avoid using vulgar language even though he partially thought it was justified."Also what I would like to know, is why Valkyr has such random effects along with the crippling nightmares. I mean, I didn't get affected, she apparently has super strength now... and some of the humans are now covered in fur. I'm going as far as to bet that the Valkyr causes nightmares, and everything else is the side-effect."
-
After putting his phone away, Scar looked calmly at Rylyn and Chrono. Look both of you, I am just a simple chemist out here who does the damn governement job. If you're not happy, go and see the president to get those answers about why America associated themselves with Russia. I don't give a damn with who they associate themselves, as long as I have my pay at the end of the month.
Scar sighed and looked at Gelidus. They're all yours for the first tests. And if you want to know Chrono, you wern't affected because your immune system already produces a type of hormones similar to the Valkyr drug. That's why 1% of the population wasn't affected as they already produced a natural drug similar to the Valkyr. And don't worry for all those nightmares and massive dependence, that's why both of you are here: to tast the new Valkyr we have created to actually end the negative side effects.
Scar took off his glasses and threw them on Gelidus' desk, waiting for him to do the first tests.
-
After heading to his dorm, Gen took quite a time on the Internet, searching for dobermen who owned condos in LA. He found it a bit terrifying how much he could find on people. He looked at the occupations, sifting his results to 4 places. He went to all four, noticing that three of them were not Valkyr exposed, or were unaffected. The fourth hadn't been home; the military officer. He sighed softly, looking around for a place to hide. He was missing another session of his studies. He hid behind a overgrown bush, sitting down discreetly behind it. It kept him hidden fully. He kept his ears alert, noticing that the condos were military condos. He bit his lip, cursing to himself. I'll have to be careful... If I get caught, I'm dead... He thought to himself.
-
Gelidus stopped leaning on the wall and finally walked toward the two that entered. "What diffenrence does it make who's making this stuff? And why in the world would the Russian's do something wrong that the Americans wouldn't? As far as I've seen, the scientists in Russia are just as talented as the ones here. The thing is, you all volunteered to do this, knowing very well the dangers. I don't think you have the right to complain. Now if you'll both please step on the scales so we can get started." He motioned his hand toward the scales, as if to invite them on.
-
"Watch yourself... Your attitude is really irking me," Rylyn threatened. Her fists clenched and her jaw tightened.
-
Gelidus's face became dull as he responded. "I'm not trying to give you an attitude ma'am, I'm simply explaining my opinion."
-
Scar became more and more agressive towards all this atmosphere. He looked up at Rylyn, made a powerfull growl and then said: Look Rylyn. You knew the dangers 4 years ago. 1000 soldiers were tested in America and you were one of them. We explained all the dangers, you could have refused to sign. And the world would have keep on turning since we would have find someone else. Scar took Rylyn's file and took the contract she signed 4 years ago and held it close to her face and said: This... You could have said no to it... Now that you're in, accept the concequences of it and step on that damn scale right now.
Scar replaced the contract in Rylyn's file and threw it on Gelidus' desk, mad and still growling.
-
Gelidus just watched and smiled as Scar got upset. He said nothing as he waited for Rylyn's response. hmm...Maybe Scar isn't so bad after all. I think I misjudged him these last 2 years. I'm definitely glad he can stick up for his opinion. Every scientist needs to and he seemed lacking in that aspect until now.
-
Drake scribbled some notes down. Hopefully these tests wouldn't go to hell...but he trusted in Scar to perform them well enough. Hopefully this time the Valkyr was just right to get the desired results. Drake sat down at his desk and waited for something interesting to happen...that's all he could do these days.
-
Chrono got on the scale, and saw that the weight was somewhere near 300. "Dang, I thought I was still around 200. I don't even have a gut!" He took off his boots, and stands on the scale. "Wow... I guess I'm more muscular than I thought, or all the fat is under the muscle."
-
Irian looked around, without even realizing it, the time had flown by, and it was no longer early morning but just before noon. he knew he had spent too much time trying to decipher reality from hallucination, but the sights were overpowering. He looked around at the people just barely glancing at him as they walked by, he knew he smelled and did not look very good, but Irian didn't care about those things. He looked around and walked towards the condos.
-
Rylyn growled and snapped her jaw at scar. She didn't relax her body as she stepped on the scale.
-
Gelidus ignored Rylyn growling and started the process, "Alright Chrono your 297 lbs, and Rylyn your 90 lbs. Now make yourself comfortable on the beds over there. This form of Valkyr will hurt quite a bit when it goes it, which is why we have to push a saline solution after its administered. Gelidus got his his gloves on and started preparing the needles. He set aside all but the 3 mg and the 9 mg vials of the drug.
-
Scar was still sitting on Gelidus' desk, taking visual notes of Gelidus' processing for the Valkyr injection. He still thought that he was better in Chemistry, but he did have some biology class in college and university. And he had a good memory, so everything his partner would do, he would remember it later on and do the exact same thing. Scar then thought about the rage excess he gave to Rylyn. This... This was not me. Am I starting to get influenced by Gelidus? I... I have to keep being myself. But I swear I saw him smile after I yelled at Rylyn. If I can go up in his confidence like that, then it's best to me to show him I can stand up to those lab rats.
After a moment, Scar came up to Gelidus and whispered in his ear: You take Rylyn and I'll take Chrono. You seem a bit more distant and cold from me and you seem to be able to endure her more than I can. Scar than took a step back and waited if Gelidus would accept his proposition.
-
"Very well" Gelidus grabbed the heart rate monitor and blood pressure monitor and hooked it up to Rylyn. "Obviously we'll need to keep track of your vitals. If anything goes wrong well...well lets just hope nothing goes wrong shall we? After I inject the drug and push the saline I'm gonna take each of you to the MRI machine one at a time so we can see how it affects your brain." After working on the drug for so many years, Gelidus knew quite a bit of Biology, especially neurological anatomy.
-
"Aww are you afraid to try an handle me?" She snapped at Scar. "Can't handle a ninety pound girl?" Her taunts stung the air. She laid on the bed, a devious smirk on her jaw. Rylyn remained simple and calm for Gelidus, but she wanted to get under Scar's skin.
-
Chrono's ears perked up as he watched Rylyn. "I can see why you don't drink any booze or liquor. It seems your temper is short enough without the 'assistance' of a few beers or a glass of wine." He lays down, his left arm behind his head. "Now, if you decide to give Dr. Gelidus any issues, I might have to 'handle' you for him."
-
Gelidus easily ignore the bickering of the three in the room. It was petty and small and Gelidus wanted nothing to do with it. In stead he focused on his work. He found a vain in Rylyn's arm and pierced it with the needle. He halted for a moment and looked at Chrono "Don't call me doctor. I hate titles." He continued, and he attached the Valkr to the tube hooked to the needle, not letting any of the substance into Rylyn's bloodstream just yet.
-
(yes.)
Rylyn's muscles tensed at the injecting fluid. She stopped taunting Scar as Valkyr entered her body. She shut her eyes and hummed a soft melody.
-
Scar grumbled and looked at Rylyn with an evil look. It's not the fact I can't handle you. It's the fact that I hate working or testing anyone who acts ironicly the same as I do. Now if you shall all excuse me, now that I know how we do the tests, I would feel better in my labratory, preparing the samples of the Valkyr. Gelidus when you'll be done, you can come in room 150 with Drake and I to prepare the samples with us.
Scar waved at Chrono, growled at Rylyn and smiled gently at Gelidus, then pushed the doors of room 142 and walked into the big labratory. He saw Drake scribbleing down some notes and smiled. Scar walked up to him and gently put one of his paws on Drake's shoulder and said gently: So, how's my favorite foxaroo tonight? Scar waited for Drake's answer while sitting down on a bench next to him.
-
Rylyn's and Chrono's condition stayed the same, there was only a slight increase in heart rate and blood pressure from the pain of the injection. "Good your body isn't reacting to it. Now Rylyn you'll go first. Lay down in the MRI machine and put your head in the contraption here. I'll be talking on speaker through that door as I test you." Gelidus walked over to a door and into it, leading to a very small room with a computer and a few different screens.
-
Chrono winced as the drug entered his body, but kept calm even though there was a small burning sensation spreading from the site of injection. "Geldius, did the Valkyr cause a burning sensation before now?"
-
Rylyn laid down on the machine. She relaxed her body and continued to hum. She shut her eyes as the bed moved into the machine. As she lay there her ears and her legs began to twitch uncontrollably. "Hey doc! This twitching isn't normal!" She shouted as panic set in.
-
Gelidus ran out of the room to check on Rylyn. He wasn't sure what to do. She wasn't having a seizure because her vitals were still in a healthy range. He got his phone and called Scar. Before Scar could pick up Gelidus spoke to Rylyn "No its not normal. I'm gonna get Scar back in here to take a look. Are you still feeling ok other than the twitching? Chrono the burning was expected and no, it didn't burn before for now."
-
Scar answered his phone and as Gelidus explained the effects of the Valkyr on Rylyn, his face expression changed for the worse. He hung up, excused himself to Drake and rushed inside room 142. Scar pushed the door and said: Now what the hell is going on here? Gelidus, I need you to take imminent blood samples of both of them. I'll need to check the chemical component in both of the subject's blood. If you prepared the Valkyr sample exactly like we have to do Gelidus, then it is maybe a new side effect of the drug. Now Rylyn, are these twiches hurting you at this moment or it is just annoying and painless? Scar waited Rylyn's response with anxiousty.
-
Elsewhere, yet nearby...
Fandral sat on a wall, staring at the nearby complex.
"Why are we here again?"
He looked towards a nearly transparent human-like figure on his left.
"Because I worked here while I was alive," the spectre said, its gaze seeming to pierce Fandral's very soul. "It's quite possible that if we venture into the depths of that monstrosity, we might find some clue that could help us to discover the circumstances of my death."
Fandral sighed. (I'm never gonna get used to this, am I?) he thought to himself.
"Well, we might as well head in there," the feline said, jumping down from the wall.
He glanced back at the ghost.
"Unless you're planning on staying here forever."
-
Rylyn shook her head. "I'm getting hot flashes. This didn't happen last time. I can't stop the movement in my legs or the rest of my body!" She was now on the verge of crying. Her body continued to shake uncontrollably as she tried to relax.
-
Now... This is bad... Scar looked nervously at Gelidus in the other room, knowing what was going on. Hold on Rylyn. Scar went in the little room where Gilidus was and spoke with a nervous voice: That's what I feared from the start Gelidus. Since we've eliminate the negative side effects and destoyed 35% of the positive effects, it isn't powerfull enough to take control of and eliminate the old Valkyr in Rylyn's body. That creates a massive structural debalencement in Rylyn's body as both of the sample trys to eliminate each other. If we don't do something, this is going to create a nervous breakdown and Rylyn could die. Scar looked at Gelidus, nervous and sweat dripping, waiting Gelidus' reaction.
-
Gelidus grabbed a strong muscle relaxant from the emergency cabinet, and injected it in the same spot as the Valkyr. He needed the stop the shaking as soon as possible so she didn't hurt herself. He glanced at her temperature "SHIT!! she's 103. We need to get her to an ice bath. NOW! Scar you know you're way around her better than I do. Where the hell do we go!?" He turned his attention to Chrono before Scar had a chance to respond "Are you still feeling okay Chrono?"
-
Scar nodded weakly, took his cell and dialed a number: Samantha... Drop down the pool's temperature in room 176 to the loest temperature you can... Why? DON'T ASK WHY! Just do it for god sake... Thank you. Scar hung up, shaking as hell. Quick, take her and follow me. We have a high controlled tempereature pool in the research facility. Scar then rushed out of room 142 and took to the left, passing by the big labratory and then took the right hallway and walked quickly then pushed a door and entered the pool's room. It didn't took time for the pool to cool down as the teperature is controled by liquid nitrogen. Scar took the temperature and saw it was at 45F ... Cool enough to calm down a fever. Scar waited nervously Gelidus to come in, wondering if he followed him close enough.
-
(YOU CAN'T POST THE S-WORD!!!)
Inside the complex...
"Does anything seem familiar to you?" Fandral asked the ghost as they walked down a metallic hallway.
"Not yet," the spectre asked, glancing around. "But truthfully, how hard can it be to...what is THAT?!"
Fandral glanced in the direction of the spectre's pointed finger and saw what appeared to be a sort of emergency room. There were multiple furries who were dressed in the same way as the spectre. But the most chilling detail was a group of syringes filled with a liquid that Fandral recognized all too well...
"This is a Valkyr facility!" he told the ghost.
Fandral glared through the window. "So this is where that horrible substance came from."
He noticed that the scientist-like people appeared to be having some problems.
"Even if they did indirectly screw up my life, they apparently need help," Fandral said.
He ran down the hallway towards the door to the room, followed by the spectre.
-
Chrono felt the burn get worse by the time Gelidus returned, and had also spread through the entire arm. He is also sitting by Rylyn's side, taking hold of her arm and pushing it into the bed "Other than my entire arm feeling like its on fire... I'm feeling absolutely fine everywhere else. Now Rylyn, instead of just making yourself sit still, try to keep me from pushing your arm down."
-
Fandral walked quietly and shyly into the room.
"Hi," he said sheepishly. "Uh... do you guys, uh... um... need any, uh, help with anything?"
-
Rylyn's body began to convulse worse as the rest of her body shook and moved. She looked at Gelidus, her eyes swimming with anguish and fear.
-
Chrono cursed under his breath as the situation didn't improve in the slightest. He lifted her up after taking the IV needle out of his arm. "I'll carry her there, and I also expect a reason why the new Valkyr my commander said was 'safer', is now causing both of us some rather unpleasant side-effects."
-
Gelidus agreed as they made they're way to the ice bath "Trust me, I want the same explanation. I'm pretty sure Scar went this way." The were moving with great haste, trying to do whatever they could. Gelidus was calm and collected as he tried to figure out a solution to the problem, and understand how it could have gone this miserably wrong. He ran into room 176 with Chrono carrying the shaking doberman. "Get her in the bath and make sure her head isn't facing up. We need to make sure she doesn't choke on her own vomit. Scar, get some benzodiazepine. If that doesn't calm her down I don't know what will."
-
Chrono set her down in the bath, then cracked a smile. "I think I remember her having said something about the drug making her physically stronger, which might explain why her muscles are going nuts. Of course, I only know about the well known side-effect of having horrible nightmares. The exertion is also what might be causing the 'hot flashes'." He looked at the cold water he put Rylyn in, then took a deep breath through his nostrils. "However, I would feel somewhat better if someone more qualified were doing the evaluation."
-
Scar knew exactly where he could find benzodiazepine. He nodded at Gelidus and ran back into room 150 and went straight to a small cabinet. He opened it, went on the 3rd bottom tablet and picked up a 150ml bottle of what he was searching. He then ran to another cabinet and took a sterelized needle and then ran back to the labratory's pool. Scar pushed the door and gave the benzodiazepine and the needle to Gelidus and he then tried to catch his breath. Chrono... We... We are damn qualified... We both... Both didn't expect... Expect that to happen. Scar then looked back at Gelidus, waiting for him to see if the benzodiazepine would work. If it doesn't, we're screwed...
-
Fandral stood there, watching the scientists go about their work.
"Okay," Fandral said. "It appears that they're completely oblivious to our presence..."
"Which is strange in my case..."
-
Gelidus quickly grabbed the medicine from Scar and injected it into Rylyn. He spoke cold and forward to the others. "Kid we don't know who you are or how you got in here, but this not a good place for you. Chrono you want an explanation then here it is: The only way she would have a fever this high is if her white blood cells are at full alert. Something must have happened when the two forms of Valkyr entered her system that sent her immune system into overdrive. There was no way for us to know it would have this effect on Rylyn." He stopped speaking to the others and looked at Rylyn, waiting for her reaction to the medicine.
-
sigma sat in the white room surrounded by nuthing but his bead and few belongings. everything in the room was white. his bed, his sheets, blankets, walls, carpet. everything even the baggy cargo pants and long hoody that he was issued upon 'check in' the only things that werent white was the black letters witch clearly said his name on the top left hand side of his all his clothes and the mirror. the mirror he was being watched from. ever scence he was given valkyr he had grone very pariniod.he had also noticed the way things seemed to slow down for him. when he concentraited hard enough he could veiw normal every day movement very slowly. sometimes could even react to them, but that still needed lots of practice.he often got tired of looking at all the white around him. sometimes he would instinctivly try to grab one of his weapons that were also removed upon 'check in'. as he was told all objects that could be potentionly life threatening in his room had been removed the walls were even padded! what was he really that crazy. he didnt even have his collar on him. he hadnt seen it for some time.he grabbed the pendent in the shape of dimand that hung around his neck and fiddled with it. strange i dont remember ever getting this now that i think about it he thought to himself.maybe the drug is affecting my memory he stopped and sat up as he heard the door that was normaly locked open. he was suddenly ushered out of his room by three men.heading back for more tests i see he said to himself as he was marched down the long pollycrete hall way.
-
Rylyn's eyes shut as her body completely relaxed, only minor twitching from the spasms moments ago. Her breathing calmed dramatically as the injection rushed through her body.
-
As Rylyn calmed her body didn't shiver, which helped keep her temperature down. Before everyone new it the situation was under control. Gelidus grabed a syringe and took some of Rylyn's blood "I need to know exactly what happened. Scar you stay here and watch over the two. I know your friend is waiting with nothing to do, so go ahead and bring him in here too. I'll be in room 142 looking at this sample." Gelidus walked out before anyone could respond. There was a puzzle and he was determined to solve it. Nothing else mattered until he found the solution to the problem.
-
Chrono looked at Geldius as if he were an idiot. "Maybe if you explained why my arm should be burning, it might offer insight as to why her muscles started spasming."
-
Scar nodded at Gelidus and sat on the pool's end and sighed. He looked at Chrono in the pool with Rylyn and wished he could have joined Gelidus to see what happenned too. As he sat down, Scar picked up his phone and called Drake: Drake? Yeah it's me Scar... Yeah something wrong happened and we're trying to figure out what it is... Yes... Come meet me in the facility's pool... Room 176... Alright... Scar hung up and closed his eyes. God Damn it! What the hell went wrong here?
-
sigma was directed into a room with dim lighting. there was a row of chairs. he quickly sat down in one. one of the men told him that one of the docters would be here soon. they had run into a problem.
-
Rylyn's eyes slowly opened but quickly shut again. "What the hell happened?" She asked as she rubbed her temples.
-
Gelidus ignored Chrono's comment and continued on his way. When he got to the room he immediately got out a microscope. He dripped some of the blood on to a slide and put a small plastic cover on it. He put the slide in the microscope and inspected the blood. He didn't want to jump to any conclusions so he stared long and hard, trying to understand exactly what was going on in Rylyn's blood. What he saw was far from what he was expecting, and creating an explanation was going to be difficult at best.
-
For the first time since he transferred, Chrono looked visibly annoyed. "Your muscles started going nuts, I brought you in and put you in the cold bath to help with the hot flashes. As for why this happened, that is what the two scientists are trying to figure out. The only possible clue I got is that Geldius said that I should be feeling a burning sensation. I especially would rather drink right now than sit and let my arm suffer, but I came to a silly yet possibly rational conclusion: The new Valkyr was trying to re-write or at least tear down what the old version set up. You said you could lift more than three hundred, that explains why your muscles went nuts. Scar said I natrually produce the old Valkyr, so the burning could be the drug trying to alter my body to fit the new strain."
-
Scar felt releived to hear Rylyn's voice and after Chrono had explain the situation, Scar nodded and added: I could go further scientificly since you think we're not qualified enough... But there's no time for fighting. And besides, it would only came back to what Chrono said. As soon as he finished, he heard his phone and answered it: General Patterson? ... Yes we are testing our patients... No there's nothing wrong... The pool dropped tempreture? Oh yeah, that's a test we're doing... What? we have a new patient?... Room 109? Alright, I'll let Gelidus know... Thank you General. Scar hung up his phone and then called Gelidus to let know this new information. Gelidus was probably too occupied to answer his phone so Scar left a message: Gelidus... It's Scar. Rylyn just woke up and she seems pretty stable. And I just received a call from General Patterson telling me we have a new patient in room 109 waiting for us. His name is Sigma. Call back when you'll have the time. He hung up and took a thermometer out of his blouse and gave it to Chrono. Here, take her temperature.
-
Chrono stopped being annoyed as confusion soon took over. "The only people who are not qualified to come up with a scientific explanation, are the people you and Geldius just shot up with the new Valkyr. I'm sorry if my statement seemed to include you. I only ment that I would feel better if I could get a more likely explanation from someone more qualified than myself, but the two people that fit that profile, were currently checking to see if there was a less obvious explanation." He took the thermometer and gently pushed it through the gap in Rylyn's mouth. "You know, this is not how I imagined we would go on a date..."
-
Gelidus checked who was calling and ignored it at first. When he saw Scar had left a message he figured he would listen to it, it might be important after all. He continued to look under the microscope as he listened to the message. After hearing it he texted Scar in response "What am I supposed to do with him? If they're both stable you deal with it." He continued to study the blood under the microscope, looking at all possible scenarios that could have caused this.
-
Scar's cellphone vibrated once more and he checked it, realizing it was a text from Gelidus. As he read it, he felt a touch of angryness but Scar knew it was due to the pressure of finding a plausible answer to what happened as fast as he could. Scar wrote back to Gelidus: "Alright, I'll take care of him. Rylyn's temperature seems to stabalize itself but I'll let her in the pool just to make sure." Scar sended the text and then standed up. Chrono, I need you to watch Rylyn. Stay in the pool another 10 minutes and then get out and take her temperature every 10 minutes and if it gets up, get back in the pool another 10 minutes. I have to go check on Patterson's new subject... He seems quite interesting.
Scar walked up the hallway up to Samantha. He excused himself for yelling and demanded the file General Patterson left for him. Samantha gave it to him and Scar began to read it. What he learned was very uncommon from Chrono and Rylyn. Paranoïa, hallucinations slow motion vision. Something quite unusual for the Valkyr patients. Other than that, it was boring to read: Old military, hybrid, blah, blah, blah...
Scar reached up room 109 and opened it and smiled as he saw the new test subject. Well hi there Sigma. My name is Scar and I'll be along you with my collegue Gelidus throughout this new experimentation. I'm sorry for the wait but we had a... minor problem to solve. So Sigma, as a first time, talk to me about all the side effects of the Valkyr you have presently. Don't hide anything: the more you'll tell, the more we'll be able to help you. Scar gave another smile to Sigma, found a comfortable position on his chair and waited for Sigma's to talk, ready to take notes.
-
"Well, this is a very dramatic sequence of events," the spectre said to Fandral.
"Yes," Fandral said. "but again, it's strange that I'm totally visible and I seem to be going undetected..."
He grinned.
"Which actually might be a good thing."
-
well, to start i have become very paranoid. i always feel that i am being watched allday. some times i cant even sleep because i feel like i am being watched. i have gotten into the habbit of looking under the bed, closet and bathroom in my room making sure im not be listened to as well. also i have had trouble with remembering where i got this necklace at. oh and possable the most notable part is the affects on my vission. it seems that when i think about it hard enough i can make things slow down. i can sometimes react to the movements. there is also an effect on the coloring or pigment of what ever is slowed down. it becomes a white and green heu. it takes a lot of energy though. and often i get very tiered afterwards. that about sums it up. oh another thing. i really dont like my room and how i have nothing in it. i completly understand how you could see some negative effects in the valkyr wich with most medications would lead to depression or suicidal thoughts or tendacies. i dont mind having my weapons. its the aspect of being alone all day in a small room with nothing to do. and all that white...god i hate all the white. the clothes are comfortable though. i could live with the clothes. more or less prefer them. sigma sat back in the chair after he finished telling the doctor all that he could.
-
Rylyn nibbled on the thermometer with nervousness. Her muscles ached, twitching every once in a while. Her ears laid back as she ran her hand through her mo-hawk. She shut her eyes.
-
As Sigma talked, Scar took many notes of his condition. When he finished talking, Scar told Sigma: Well, to be honest, you're the first soldier I see who has these symptoms. I thought the Valkyr only caused a massive dependance and nightmares. I'll have to talk about that with my collegue. As for your room, I beleive that from what you said, general Patterson did not took any chances and put you in the psychiatric ward due to your conditions. I'll see what I can do but until then, I can't do anything as we encounteered a problem and we need to solve that before doing anything else. I'll meet you when this problem will be solved. Scar standed up, smiled at Sigma and stepped out of room 109 to meet Gelidus.
Entering room 142 after knocking, Scar saw Gelidus looking down at a blood sample and asked: Anything new Gelidus? And he then added before Gelidus could answer: And I just came back form meeting that new subject. Pretty unusual from what I saw so far. Paranoïa, hallutination and pigment deformation of the vision. General Patterson put him in the psychiatric ward to prevent anything. What do you think about his condition? Scar waited patiently for Gelidus answers.
-
Gelidus looked up at Scar as he walked in. He got up from his chair and spoke "Come here and take a look at whats under this microscope. The new Valkyr reacted with the old Valkyr, creating a new substance. It's like this old stuff on steroids, meth, and adrenaline all at once. It's no wonder Rylyn's muscles spasmed like that. Luckily, this substance triggered her immune system to kill it, unlike the Valkyr. And since her immune system was buffed up by the old Valkyr, her temperature skyrocketed. She should be suffering from withdrawal symptoms soon, since her immune system is killing everything. As for Chrono, I'm not really sure. I think since his body automatically creates the old Valkyr, it reacted with the new Valkyr, but there was plenty of old Valkyr in his system so that the only effect was localized burning at the injection where the substance was being created."
-
Scar looked down in the microscope and saw indeed that the chemical structures of both the old and new Valkyr had fusioned together, creating a debalencement just like he said earlier. But looking more closely, Scar saw a huge amount of White Blood Cells in the samples, only making confirming that Rylyn's immune system quickly responded to the change. Scar looked at Gelidus and said : That... That is special... I never thought of the possibility that the two Valkyr would fusionate together and create something maybe even more powerfull than we expected. And I guess that reaction was normal since Rylyn's body couldn't take such change in less than 5 minutes. As for Chrono, I really thing the new drug will have no effects on him as he produces Vlakyr naturally. So the old Valkyr kills the new one like a normal immune system would kill a cold. Scar was shock at this new possibility of fusioning both of the Valkyr and then look back at Gelidus: And for the new patient, what do we do with him?
-
shortly after sigma was led back to his room. emediatly going back to his corner, wishing he had something to occupy his time with.
-
Chrono reclined near Rylyn, the burning in his arm still intensifying. He swung his arm at the floor, hoping the pain would overpower the more irritating burning sensation. However, there was no pain... and the floor cracked around the point of impact. "Okay, so the drug did more than just cause inflamation."
-
Rylyn smiled and turned her head to face him. She just laid there and shut her eyes again. "You should put me on a table or something that way I don't drown." She laughed softly.
-
Chrono smirked after looking away from the cracked floor and focusing on Rylyn. He plucked the thermometer from her mouth and looked at it. "Or I could get in the pool with you so that I can keep your head above water. You need a few more minutes in the tub before I'm cleared to dry you off."
-
Rylyn nodded her head. "I'm beyond exhausted. My body is reacting oddly to this form of Valkyr." She shut her eyes and nuzzled into Chrono as he held her above the water.
-
Chrono couldn't really return the affection, as she wasn't in the best mental or physical condition to keep her balance without him. "I'm very sure that the feeling you're experiencing is just the 'meds they injected so your muscles would relax. Now do you have a preference of where to eat, or some form of meat or pasta that I can cook?"
-
She smirked. "You're still thinking about that? I love Italian so that shouldn't be too hard."
-
Chrono let out a sigh of relief. "I was afraid that a lack of drinking meant a lack of eating anything that isn't a vegetable. Grain and meat are the only things I had that actually lasts through the massive blizzards of Alaska." Chrono looked at the clock, then started lifting up Rylyn. "Okay, ten minutes have passed... lets get you to a table." He set her down on an autopsy table as the only other surfaces were the floor, the counter, or the cart that couldn't even hold half of what Chrono weighs.
-
Rylyn's body shivered as her skin touched the metal table. "Do you expect to cut me open and play around with my organs?" she joked.
-
'can i get a paper and pencil, pin what ever?' A few minutes later the door opened and a pencil and a pad of paper was handed to him. 'alright lets try something new' he thought.
-
Chrono flashed a smirk as he picked up a scalpel and held it to the light above the table. "No, I expect the drug to keep working as I cut you open and tie knots with your intestines..." He then flicked the scalpel over to the sink at the other end of the room. "But then I'll be homeless again, and I don't want to see what the Valkyr did to the color of your muscles..."
-
Rylyn let out a light laugh. She slowly sat up and rubbed her abdomen. "That feels a bit tender..." she stopped and laid back down, a grimace struck her face.
-
He felt her forehead for any rise in temperature, then moved the cart of autopsy tools far away from the table. "Need anything while they're analyzing? A drink, snack, extra clothes... a massage?"
-
Gen constantly checked his phone for the time, realizing the doberman who lived there wouldn't be home for quite a while. He kept still, however, keeping still made him rather tired; he had always spent his nights working. He wanted to get up and walk, to keep himself awake. He didn't, though, because he was afraid of missing the owners. This soon made him fall asleep. He stretched out as he slept; his leg sticking out rather noticeably from the bush.
-
"Believe it or not, I want to go home. I'll get the results tomorrow but I'm beyond worn out." She got off the table and grabbed her keys and her things. "Lets get the hell outta here" She exited the room and walked down the corridor.
-
Chrono kept his smile down as he followed her out the room. "So, what type of sauce would you like with your pasta?" The burning had spread to his chest, but the constant exposure made the sensation almost non-existent.
-
Not long after Gen had irresponsibly fallen asleep, someone had caught on. He woke up with hands in his pockets, and someone's nervous breath on his face. "Get your dirty paws off me!" He shouted, kicking the theif in a man's weak spot. He backed out of the bush with a yell, attempting to get up. "You get back here you piece of trash! I can't have a peaceful rest without someone trying to take my items, can I?!" Outraged, he ran to him and snatched his cellphone from the theif's paws. He kicked him in the shin and bit his hand. The theif, which turned out to be a white tiger growled and slashed at Gen before limping away; leaving him with three cuts on his left cheek.
-
"Alfredo I suppose." She got in her car and started the engine. As they peeled out of the parking lot and down the road, Rylyn's stomach pains increased. "What the hell is going on!?" She was getting aggravated now.
-
Chrono already made a mental checklist of the ingredients, then grimaced when Rylyn has stomach issues. "They gave you something to relax your muscles. It could be wearing off now since there is no IV tube supplying more of it."
-
sigma sat in his room with the pencil and paper in front of him, staring at the black page. suddenly he grabbed the pencil and started to draw. slowing down time to pay attention to the details. after he finished his first drawing he examened it closely. 'hmmm' he said under his breath. tossing the first one be hind him he started agian. after finishing this time he was satisfied. in a few minutes he had completed close the 20 drawings each one spead out beside the next. 'at this rate i wont have any more paper left.' the pencil was in dire need of sharpening before he decided to stop.
-
Rylyn sighed, "I'll live. I just need rest. I will need to get rid of the old valkyr when we return home." She pulled into the development and into her driveway quickly.
-
At the sound of a car pulling into the driveway, Gen looked back at it, still attempting to clean the cuts he'd received across his face. When he saw the Doberman he gulped and turned his head back, using his phone's front camera as a mirror to clean himself. He knew he looked suspicious but he could always tell a lie; the condosweren'tt all for that one person; he looked himself over. Petite and casually dressed. The long white hair may be a bit suspicious but other than that he wasn't too unusual.
-
Chrono got out of the car when she parked. He leaned against the door, and could make out the faint scent of blood while waiting on Rylyn. Great... as if we didn't have enough problems to deal with.
-
Gen looked back at the car. There was another with the doberman. The cuts hadn't been life threatening, but the blood flooded out in the quantity that a nosebleed would; at twice the rate. Gen pressed his hand against as much of the slashes as he could cover and walked to the doberman's companion. His scent was covered by blood, and behind that was the scent of honey and dirt. Had it not have been for the blood pouring out from the slashes, his pale face and gentle eyes could've made him look angelic from the head up. The blood flowed down onto the collar of his lightly colored flannel. "Excuse me sir.." He spoke gently, and calmly. "I've got a small issue.. If it wouldn't trouble you or your companion.. Would you be able to get me a wet cloth? I would appreciate it greatly."
-
Chrono didn't make any threatening movements or glances, only gestured at the blood flow. "You need more than a wet washcloth for that much blood loss. Plus, you shouldn't have to dress like that if you don't have anything dangerous to hide..."
-
Rylyn looked at the stranger. She had her doubts about him. "I'll run inside and get a cloth and some bandages." She locked her car and went into the house. As she passed Chrono she whispered, "Don't let him out of your sight."
-
"What's the problem with the way I dress....?" He looked down at his clothing and back up to Chrono. He took his hand from his face with a wince, taking both and opening the flannel to expose a white T-shirt and the thin inside fabric of the flannel. "I've nothing to hide. All I have on my person is a cell phone; the reason I'm bleeding heavily. I simply request a cloth so I may clean my neck and get the blood on something that isn't-" He looked back suddenly after hearing footsteps to see a white tiger casualling conversing with someone as he walked with a slight limp. The tigers dangerous eyes met Gen's fearful eyes. After he heard the dobermans response he smiled a bit and looked to her.. "Thank you..."
-
Chrono shook his head as the man continued talking away. "Before I speak the finer terms of the word 'usually', I need to explain why we have every rational and logical right to deny you a cloth. Your wound, though fresh, has been bleeding longer than a minute, yet you are very calm about it. You have yet to explain how you got the wound, or who inflicted it upon you, which could mean that you are possibly from the city's underbelly, and don't want to go to a clinic to get the wound cleaned, like a common pedestrian or citizen would. Now that we have this established, I feel obligated to inform you that I will snap your neck if you give myself or my friend any attitude." He then cracked a smile. "So, why are there claw marks on your face?"
-
Gen looked up and sighed softly. "I don't wish to look any more weaker than I already do; I am not a very trusting or comfortable person. The fact I am telling you this is only because you're giving me the cloth and would like to know." He moved a bit closer, his voice lowering to a gentle whisper, to make sure the tiger wouldn't hear. "The tiger, walking behind me, had attempted to steal my cellphone. I kicked him in shin, which is the reason why he is limping. I also bit his paw, if you'd look at its underside you would probably find marks from human teeth. My teeth. The nearest clinic is quite a walk from here, and if I move too fast my nose shall start bleeding from high blood pressure. Furthermore, I do not know what the 'city's underbelly' is, as I have not lived here for longer than two months, and I apologize if I seemed to give you an attitude. I did not mean to seem disrespectful. Gen backed up, letting out a soft sigh. He had been letting out similar deep breaths for quite a while now, and his face was beginning to turn red as he reached up to softly rub the right side of his upper face with a gentle grunt; feeling and knowing that he was talking too much. He was feeling pain from the cuts on the left side of his face, but he didn't wish to show it; he didn't experience much physical pain in his life, never broken a bone. It was an effort to hold in the tears, which any man would never even get in the first place. "Anymore questions?"
-
"Well, we're not going to get anything done just standing around here," Fandral said. "Let's look elsewhere."
"Agreed," the ghost said, following Fandral out of the room.
-
Chrono looked him over, then grinned widely and gave him a friendly smack on the back. "Nope, now I know who to deal with for causing problems. I'll 'talk' with the tiger once we get your cuts cleaned up."
-
sigma looked around his room one more time. he was still sceptical of puting up his drawings. he had grown ucustomed to seeing the white walls. he stacked the drawings on top of one another carefully then put them in the drawer of his new desk witch was also white.
-
Gen made a squeak and was easily pushed forward by the hit on his back. "I... I'm not so sure that's a wise idea... He's probably already angered with me for kicking and biting.." He winced a bit, the cuts bleeding was beginning to slow but the cuts had also begun to sting and hurt even more. He turned his head away from scar to wipe a tear from his right eye. Weak, weak.. Why're you even here Gen? Have you forgotten what you want? The thoughts entered his head, reminding him why he was hiding in the bush. He was looking for drugs; a lowlife task. But it was Valkyr; a possible solution to his irregularity. These people were nice enough to supply him with bandages when he needed them; perhaps a change of heart was falling over him. Or the fact he didn't want to hurt people who helped him stepped in.
-
Rylyn came back out with a warm cloth. "Now what or who caused this..."
-
Chrono flicked his head towards a white tiger before looking at Rylyn. "He was getting robbed, and fought back... now he has cuts across his face. I can deal with him if it happens again... or before it happens again."
-
He nodded quietly and to Rylyn, gently taking the cloth and pressing it to his face with a wince. Thinking of how his face was going to be scarred by such a criminal. "Please don't put yourself into danger... I appreciate the kindness of you both, but I'm not worth the trouble to pursue strangers. The tiger continued to walk and chat, walking back and forth. "Is a cheap phone really worth this?" Gen spoke softly with a sigh, watching the pacing with a soft gulp.
-
Rylyn smirked. "No need Chrono. I've dealt with him before. He wont come back to harm anyone." She looked at the tiger as their eyes met.
-
Chrono had a brief dreamy look in his eyes as he looked at Rylyn, then remembered dinner. "Well, I best start making the sauce before I start making the pasta... wouldn't want to waste the pasta on account for a lack of sauce ingredients."
-
Rylyn laughed. "Wouldn't want that to happen!" She poked at him. "Are you going to be alright?" she asked Gen.
-
Chrono went to the door, then hit his head against it as he remembered something. "Rylyn, I need the keys when you're done over there."
-
Gen squeaked and jumped at the poking, having dozed off. "Wh-what? Oh.... Yeah... Thank you two for you're help... I'll repay you when I see you next... I really appreciate that..." He nodded a bit shyly and uneasily, "Thanks again.." He continued a fast walk in the direction of a clinic. His walk was quite quickly, watching his shadow carefully and looking back.
-
Rylyn scratched her head and shrugged. "What's that Chrono?" She asked walking to the door and unlocking it. "Did you say you needed my keys?"
-
Chrono smiled. "I would have preferred you over the keys, but thank you for opening the door." He stepped through, and almost shut the door in front of her. But it was just to keep the AC from leaving the house as he took off his boots. He took the ingredients for the Alfredo sauce out of the refrigerator and the cabinets, then turned on the stove to boil the pasta water while prepping the sauce pan. "I usually add flavor with wine, but this place seems rather empty of such luxuries."
-
"So did that jog your memory at all?" Fandral asked the ghost as they walked out of the building.
"I don't think so," the specter said, glancing back. "No... wait! I remember... no, that's not it either.... Hold on... I think Iremember something."
"What?" Fandral said.
The specter looked directly at him.
"A name."
-
Rylyn sighed. "I do have luxuries. But I save them for later." She sat on the couch and removed her tennis sneakers. She gave a slight yawn and shut her eyes.
-
Chrono smiled at her. "We just survived another variation of Valkyr, don't you think this is a special occasion?" He poured in flat noodles as the pot started boiling, then started making the sauce. "Of course, it will just be used to flavor the sauce. By the way, is it white wine or red wine?"
-
"I have many different kinds." She said as she laid down on the couch.
-
Chrono found it easy to not snap at her as he was too focused on making the meal.
"Then please get me a white wine. Red wine will be for tomorrow when I go buy steak for dinner." He quickly searched cabinets for spices, then sighed.
"Rylyn, you don't do much cooking on your own, do you?"
-
Fandral ran back toward the base, the specter in tow.
"Are you certain?" the feline asked.
"Completely," the ghost replied.
"Then let's get in there!!"
-
"Not particularly," she sighed. Rylyn got up and walked down a set of stairs hidden by a door. She came back up with a large bottle of white wine and handed it to Chrono.
-
Gen sighed as he walked down the street, night crawling across the sky slowly. He walked past a military base, wincing as he heard a loud "Let's get in there!" from a feline. He sighed to himself and grabbed the feline by the collar of his shirt.
"Idiot. You're not going to get very far, especially if you let out your little battle cries, totally announcing yourself." He spoke sternly to the taller feline, keeping the bloody cloth to his face. In the hypothetical situation in which you do, they would easily kick you out.. This isn't a local supermarket, you can't just waltz in. Have some sense."
-
Fandral stared at him blankly.
I can't believe this, he thought.
"Are you sure it's not the other way around?" the feline asked. "Because I've been here for an hour, standing in that stupid chamber with all of you in there with all of that stupid, terrible Valkyr and you guys didn't notice me whatsoev... forget that. I need to speak to Rylyn."
-
"Eh? I've never been in this place, dummy. You should calm yourself, you're starting to think irrationally. I've never seen you before, either. Just looking out. Unless ya wanna get arrested for trespassing, I'd stay away." He sighed and pet the feline.
-
Chrono gently took the bottle out of Rylyn's hand, and only poured a shot and a half into the pan before handing it back. "Maybe I could offer some lessons, or some of my recipes..."
-
"I don't see that point," she claimed as she took out too wine glasses and placed them on the counter. The smooth liquid filled each glass. She turned and handed it to him. "You're already living here."
-
Chrono took the glass, and sipped it while going back to the pasta. "I may not be here all the time. That, and the drug is still going through my body. So, I might not be alive the next morning, or act like the same person that came here earlier today." He hands her the wooden spoon, the end of it dipped in the Alfredo sauce. "The alcohol is burned away, since I thought you were against drinking. Just tell me what I could add since I already know what it will taste like right now."
-
Rylyn smiled. "I don't understand. You will be here. And i couldn't tell you! i don't know!"
-
Chrono rolled his eyes before poking her muzzle with the spoon and leaving some of the sauce on it. "Lick your lips and tell me what is missing, since I don't know what you would like in your sauce!" He then took up the other wooden spoon and resumed his cooking.
-
A pink tongue with green swirls, a metal ring sticking out, laps up the sauce on her nose. "I don't think it's missing anything," She said. She sipped from her glass and sat in a bar stool that lined her counter.
-
Chrono looked at Rylyn oddly when he noticed the green swirls on her tongue, but ignored it as he searched for a pasta strainer, finding it in the bottom cupboards and setting it in the sink before turning off the stove for the pasta and setting it on low for the sauce.
A few minutes later, he had the pot and the saucepan on the counter, both on top of cork mats. "So, how did they convince you to take your first dosage?"
-
Rylyn closed her eye and let out a deep sigh. "I lost a squad. All of my men. 15 of us. I couldn't help them all. I was only able to save 7 of them... But not without a price. I was only able to drag one and carry another. After receiving my medals, the company came to me and asked if I would like to go through a series of tests to improve my performance and what not." She looked at him and let out a light laugh.
-
Chrono handed her a plate as he got a pasta spoon from his duffel-bag and left the other wooden spoon in the sauce. "Well, at least they told you what was going to happen. My officer just asked if I wanted to spend my vacation in California. So far, I'd say it was mostly true. Of course, I would have packed a little more on the cooking supplies if I knew I was cooking for a woman of your caliber."
-
"Don't worry about cooking so much." She took another swig of wine. "Even if you make an awesome Alfredo sauce. I do know how to cook," she said with a smile. "I just don't have anyone but myself to cook for."
-
sigma sat in his room finishing his dinner and planning to go to bed afterwards when he noticed a picture that he didnt recognize on the floor. '' thats wierd i dont remember drawing you'' he said. opon examination he relized what it was. it was him. standing outside of his room holding his two tonfas, with a dead guard beside him on the floor.
looking at the picture gave him a headace. he closed his eyes and winced at the pain. when he opened them he was outside of his room, standing next to the sigma from the drawing. this new sigma looked in his direction and as if not noticing him looked the other way as two guards opened fire on them. the new sigma ran along the wall bouncing from one side to the other evading thier fire and seconds later the two were dead. the two looked into eachothers eyes. the original blinked, and when he opened his eyes he was back in his room next to his door, that was standing the slitest bit ajar.
-
"Okay, so maybe you weren't there," Fandral said. "But seriously, I need to speak with someone by the name of Rylyn. Do you have any idea where they could be at the time, and, if so, could you please take me to them? This is VERY IMPORTANT."
-
Chrono took another drink of his wine, then had a knowing smile as he put his elbow on the counter. "You know, some guys I know would take these last several hours the wrong way. You nuzzled me while I was holding you in the water, and now you're saying my sauce is amazing even though I'm still not working with a full cabinet of spices and oils. At this point, they would suggest sharing a room with you in case the other serum kicks in."
-
Gen laughed loudly, "LA is a large city; how can you expect me to know everyone?~ Anyway, I must go to a medical facility before this gets too bad. Evening~" He began to walk away tiredly, steps slow and paced one at a time.
-
"Wait!" Fandral said. He glanced at the specter.
"Is there a Doberman anywhere on the base?"
-
"I'm going to die by the time I get to the clinic... There is one at a military run condo complex, who lives with a malamute. She gave me the cloth. Why?" He asked tiredly, looking to him with an almost apathetic look.
-
it was clear to sigma that he was faced with two choices. leave now and have the whole place locked down or stay in his room. sigma raced down the hall stoping at each corridor to see if anyone was coming. strangly the base was almost deserted. sigma rushed threw the doors and out the gate, jumping the wall on the outside before running into the two standing out side.
'' dont be scared! trust me dont panick just...just let me go on my way. what you saw never happened!!''
he stood looking at the two wide eyed.
-
Rylyn laughed. "And most would be on the ground in pain," she joked.
-
Chrono smiled. "Then I will not tempt fate or your fury. But, if you drink any more, I might not be able to resist your advances." he chuckled as he finished off his pasta and got seconds.
-
"It's imperative that I speak with her," Fandral said. "I'm trying to help someone out and I'm probably going to need her help."
He started to dash off, then ran back and handed the tiger a roll of medical tape and some Neosporin.
"Thank you for helping me out. I hope that you feel better."
With that, he ran back into the base, in search of Rylyn.
-
sigma stood by gen. '' im looking for a dobermen and her companion. i think that her name is...is...i... i dont rememer what her name is. but i need her now!''
-
Fandral heard Sigma talking and ran back.
"I'm going the same way. You can come with me. Besides," he said, "Our friend here has to get to the clinic."
-
"You idiots seem to emerge from nowhere... Anyway, I'm going to get my stitches now.." He began to walk in the same direction as before, the bleeding having stopped and blood dry from the time it had been exposed.
-
Fandral ignored the idiot comment.
"Well, dude, we'd better go see Rylyn now," he said, walking toward the base. He looked back.
"Are you coming?"
-
Rylyn gave a chuckle. "I don't get tipsy easily my good sir." She finished and got up to put her dish in the dish washer. "Plus... I will be fine. Its natural for someone to react to a new drug after its first test was successful."
-
Chrono finished his plate rather quickly, and finished the rest of his glass before putting his plate in the sink and putting the rest of the sauce and pasta in containers for cold storage in the fridge. "Before we both get tipsy, I just want this to be said: I am not the type to look for a one-night stand."
-
Rylyn cocked an eyebrow. "Wasn't suggesting you were one." She sat on the couch and switched on the tv.
-
Chrono smiled as he sat down next to her, the wine bottle in his hand. "Then its settled..." He took a gulp of the wine. "I'm cooking Monday through Thursday, and you cook Friday through Sunday."
-
"Fair Enough" She sipped down some more wine and tilted her head back.
-
" ya im coming" sigma said. "and just so you know ive been locked up in that place for to long! so im not the stupid one here!" he yelled.
-
"If I'm so stupid," Fandral said, "then how come no one noticed me when I was in here before?"
-
"not you the other guy. the one who called us retards. besides i feel sorry for you. you willingly went into that hell hole? your crazy" he replied
-
"Maybe," Fandral said. "But then again, aren't we all?"
He started walking into the base.
-
That night, Scar learned terrible news. Gelidus had to be taken to Russia with emergency for something quite important tha happened in Russia. So with that, he was left yet alone with his crew, but since he told them they were all off, he was alone for tonight and would probably do extra hours again. With all what was at his disposition and with both Chrono and Rylyn blood samples, he could make his way to ameliorate the Valkyr.
-
" oh no! i forgot something. you wait here!" with that sigma jumped the concrete wall back into the compound. running up to the door and pulling out his ID badge. the door slid open and he ran inside looking for the room were they took his weapons. he burst threw the door. upon looking up he saw scar.
-
"Well, that wasn't very discreet," Fandral muttered, hiding in the shadows of the door to the weapon-taking room.
-
Chrono slid closer to Rylyn, then glanced at her as his hand reached out and gripped her shoulder, massaging the muscle while he watched the television with her.
-
"Don't be so quick to make a move," she laughed. Rylyn sighed and continued watching the television.
-
Fandral rushed into the bunk room, having left Sigma to reunite with his friend.
"Rylyn!" the boy said, spotting the doberman. "We need to talk."
-
((I'm in a house))
-
Rylo had opened his eyes and had seen 2 men in white, The General and 2 other Colonels behind a glass seal, and a strange dead Horse anthro with huge but dark eyes inside a tube with liquids keeping its flesh intact. Rylo heard a Voice from a mike. " Begin Project Valkyr, and insert drug 66-mix." The men in white held a huge needle each, and injected them into Rylo's arms. The liquid on the left arm became pain, and the right felt numb. The liquids went through the blood and body, once they connected. The pain had gotten 100 times worse. Rylo's vision was blankining. " What the hell is this place, why are you doing this, I agreed to one drug only. Rylo passed out..
-
The cold bit into Fel's fur through the army jacket and scarf he wore. He truged his boots through the heavy snow clutching his paw to his chest. Icicles hung from his nose.
But he didn't feel it. The rage that burned inside of him kept him warm enough. His sources had told him that the last factory that created the horrific chemical that had twisted his mind was in Russia. The same chemical that made him go insane and slaughter his whole team. He could see them now, following him everywhere he went, their empty eyes piercing his mind. There was no goal more desirable to him than to destroy this facility once and for all.
Finally he stepped in front of the factory, observing the snow covered compound. He reached down and stroked the butt of his magnum lovingly.
"Soon... soon all this will be a figure of the past... I promise you brothers..."
To anyone who may have been watching him, they might have seen him there for a second, but when they turned back, he had vanished into the snow. He was on a mission, one that would not be stopped by anyone.
-
Rylo had woken with movements up and down and an engene roar. His body was grappled by metal onto a wall. His eyes opened, Marines and scientists sat ina row. Rylo had adrenaline running through him. He felt extremely good. One colonel came out the front which looked like the driving spot. " Is he ready?" A scientist got up and stood next to Rylo holding a flashlight. He held it up high. " please look here." Rylo looked. The Scientist moved it in circles. " Can you focus on the moving object?" Rylo nodded after he had followed it with his eyes. The Scientist then shined the light into Rylos eyes. " looks good so far." The colonel came to Rylo and started to speak. " Now you look here Rylo, you have one last chance with your carrier and life, your scene before the proseiger and your actions against the United States has costed you your life, consider this to be your lucky day soldier. That base you saw back there, and the tests we gave you, not a word from it. What you saw back there is top secret." Rylo thought for a minute, then nodded his head to the colonel. The colonel nodded back. "Good, your service is required do to you will not be saved when you need help, you are ment to die, if you do not die, and you do as we say, you will be free. And your file will be whiped clean from your scene back there. You start your duty today when we drop you off."
-
Fandral ran into the house and found Rylyn.
"Rylyn!" he said. "I need to talk to you."
-
Chrono was the first to act, getting up from the couch and grabbing the intruder by the head. "First of all, you knock before entering, and I also believe that you are breaking and entering onto private property. Now you should leave before you find out what happens to burglars that I catch in this house."
-
"I'm no thief, even if i... *HACK*... look like it," Fandral said, clutching at his throat. "I just... need to talk to... Rylyn. It's... important.."
-
Chrono was tempted to tighten his grip, but kept the intruder suspended, loosening it enough to not cut off his air. "Then speak, before I lose my patience..." The burning sensation from earlier returned, but now it had spread through all but his left arm and leg.
-
Rylo was dropped off at this place( where you guys are). The colonel popped out. " You will begin tomarow, expect a chopper then." The armored vehical drove off, and Rylo went inside, and was seen be others. Rylo looked around.
-
"Okay then..." Fandral said. "Excuse me, Rylyn?"
-
Rylyn jumped at all of the fast movement. "And just as I was getting a small buzz..." She looked at the shaggy creature in Chrono's grasp. "Let him speak without getting a headache." She went over to the small boy and sighed. "What is it that has brought you barging into my home?"
-
sigma stood infront of scar looking quite pale. scare looked up from his work smiled and waved him on.
"that was odd."
sigma continued down the hall finding his weapons in a storage room. he then proceded out of the complex.
"were was he going? oh god i dont remember."
-
Chrono reluctantly released the boy, but kept his hackles raised as he was ready to pounce at an instant's notice. He was not used to letting an intruder walk in unharmed, or even alive on some rare occasions. He didn't even realize that Rylyn was influencing his actions to the point where he would ask her permission to do something he believed should have been done without the permission.
-
Rylo had walked upstairs and into the rooms area and saw a door open with 3 people talking (you guys) and slowly passed looking at them.
-
Rylyn sighed. "Chrono, please try to calm yourself for a moment." She set her hand upon his shoulder and smiled. "He clearly means no harm."
-
Chrono didn't even glance outside to know that someone was outside. He walked over to the door and smiled at the possible intruder. "You know, its people like you that make gun stores a necessity rather than a luxury." He then slammed the door and locked it. He then turned back to Rylyn and sighed. "Yeah, I'm just used to killing people for breaking into my house during a tundra... not questioning their motives."
-
((I will mostly be playing as Launna, kayato only comes out every so rarely.....)) *launna is sitting on a chair in the clinic glaring at the gigantic gash on her right arm* " damn razor wire..... got to remember to advoid that next time...."
((in mosscow))
-
Rylyn let out a light chuckle, "Without questioning, you get no answers. With no answers, No complete objective." Her eyes flickered from Chrono's to the door. "People really have to stop barging in. I'm going to put up a booby trap or something!" she exclaimed, her arms flailing in the air.
-
Rylo turned to look, then looked back and rolled his eyes, continueing to walk to his door.
-
Chrono cocked his eyebrow at her. "'complete objective'? I had a house full of food and central heating, they either want me dead for some job, or they want me dead so they can take the house for themselves. Of course, if it was you at the door, we could just skip the whole killing thing and I would make you some nice chicken stew."
-
Rylo stopped an thought about what he had been through, and what mistake this was to sign up for a double drug in new mexico. One of them theyve been working on since 1952. He had to vent. " Ruuhh!!" Rylo punched a hole into the wall in the hallway before his door making a loud thud. He then breathed deeply and slowed to a calmer tone, then opened his door and looked inside.
-
*one of the medic staff looks up and winces at the size of the gash* "darlin con right on back here.. you need that sticthed up." *launna looks up and shrugs* "Its not much of a problem... teach me how to stich these up so i dont have to frequient here much... i dont like having every little thing written down..." The attending nurse roles her eyes. "We have been over this before, i am not alowed to teach you anything of that sort. talk to your Commander about that. Now let me have a look at it before i decide to stick another notch in your ear." Launna roles her eyes and holds out her arm and grins when the nurse shaves the spot to get a better look, within a few min she has it cleaned and stiched up. "Now take it easy, dont pull theise ones out." Launna nods once and goes to peal off the bandage covering the stiches. "DONT TOUCH THAT!" She shrugs and stops thinking /well i can just take it off as soon as i get outside.. this is such a nucience...../
-
((We are in LA, just for future reference))
Rylyn laughed. "I would have killed you afterwards just to keep warm," she joked.
-
He seemed to think about it. "Is this before or after we go to my heated bed?" He seemed to have forgotten about the third person in the room, and was just focusing on Rylyn.
-
Rylo steps inside and slmas the door making another loud noise. He set down his stuff and searched the room.
-
As Launna walks out side her eyes emidatly adjust to the glare of the light reflecting off the snow. She rips off the bandage and her fur has already started growing back, and the wound was closing nicely. Launna makese a mental note to tell the chief reasearcher, about this and continues to just walk about the cold not bothering her despite her being only in her black jeens and black t-shirt.
((in moscow))
-
(It gets cold in L.A.?)
"Excuse me, Rylyn, but I have to ask you this," Fandral said, looking over at the doberman. "Did you know anyone who worked at the bunker you were in earlier? Scientists, perhaps? Middle-aged ones?"
He glanced back at the ghost. "I got that right, right?" he whispered.
"Pretty much," the ghost said.
-
She looked at Fandral oddly. "Besides the one working there right now that I just met a few hours ago. I haven't known anyone in there for a while. I mean... My father worked in there, not anymore of course. But no one else comes to mind."
-
Fandral looked between the ghost and Rylyn three times.
There was almost no doubt.
Better make sure, he thought.
"Rylyn, have you heard from your father lately?"
-
Rylo sat down on his bed and thought, cooling down and trying to relax.
-
Launna walks into the then main lab, and starts looking around for the head of reachearch. As shee is looking around she thinks its a bit odd for ithe area to be as quiet as it is... "Mmmmm i wonder where everyone is... they must be in a meating...."
-
"Is that a joke? He and I haven't spoken in years. Not the greatest relationship." Rylyn said, growing impatient.
-
"Do you have a picture of him?" Fandral said.
-
Rylyn sighed. "Not that I know of." She stood up and yawned.
-
"Oh. Well, then, does he look pretty much just like you?"
-
"I am a pure bred Doberman. So yes," she laughed.
-
"Oh... okay then, I have some bad news for you," Fandral said, shifting his weight from one foot to another.
"Um... he's.... uh..."
-
Rylo gets up and walks back out the door and scans around the halls, nocking on walls.. He nocked on the wall of yours, checking for small or metal sounds.
-
Rylyn sighed. "I already know what you're going to say. I haven't spoken to him but I knew it was coming. I mean, he constantly worked with deadly toxins. Never listened to any of us." She smiled gently. "A goodbye would have been nice."
-
"Um... yeah, that's not exactly what i was gonna say," Fandral said, smiling awkwardly and staring at the ceiling.
"Um... he was murdered."
Fandral glanced back at the ghost.
"And he's also in this room with us."
"As a ghost."
-
Launna sits on one of the chairs waiting patiently for someone to come out to ask what shewas doing inside the lab. As she is waiting she pulls out a small sketch pad and begins drawing, to pass the time. /i hope this doesn't take too long.. i would like to get a new mission soon.. all this waiting is going to drive me stir crazy./
-
Rylyn's ears went down. "Like I said. He handled some danger toxins." She shrugged. She shied away. "You may find it strange that I show no emotion. But that's my training. My father would understand. He knew I loved him."
-
Chrono had went up to his room as they continued chatting, and had returned with a desert eagle loaded with rubber rounds, though he made no intention of telling either Rylyn or the intruder. He lifted the gun and pointed it at the intruder before flipping the safety off. "Either leave now, or I shoot your legs and do some questioning of my own. Is that understood?"
-
Rylo stopped and slighty looked back at Chrono. Rylo turns around with a pistol aiming at Chrono's head. " Put it down, now!"
-
Rylyn pulled two desert eagles that had been on her thighs. She pushed the young boy out of the way. "Both of you, down! NOW! God Damn it!" Her teeth were now baring and she aimed one at Chrono and the other at the stranger. "Don't think I will hesitate to shoot both of you right now and clean up myself," she barked.
-
Chrono lowered the gun, then shot his own foot. He kept a straight face as he picked up the rubber round and held it up to Rylyn. "You were going to kill me because I fired a non-lethal round, sorry for trying to bluff..." He then took his clip out and slid it to Rylyn. "I'll just go get some shut-eye." He went upstairs and into his room before closing, not slamming, the door shut.
-
hearing the yelling sigma came running through the parking lot. /were ever there is trouble is were that kids gotta be/ he ran up to the house. seeing the guns he instinctively grabbed his sword.
-
Rylo lowered his gun and put it back. " Lower yours mam."
-
Fandral stared at Rylyn.
"I'm totally serious. He's right the... oh right, I should have mentioned," the feline said. "About six months ago, I accidently inhaled that drug, Valkyr, without knowing it. The next day, I could see and hear ghosts. I've been helping them pass over. Your father is the most recent person I'm helping to cross. The problem is, although he knows that he was murdered, he can't remember who it was."
-
Rylo looked at the feline. " So wait, your in Valkry? Hmm no wander they sent me here, are you going to Russia tomarow?"
-
"Well, I'm going to need to stay with you, Rylyn, since your presence might help jog your father's memory..."
Fandral turned back to the horse.
"So if she's going, I'm coming too."
He saw Sigma coming up to the house.
"And I suppose he is too..."
-
Chrono came back down the stairs, the walls too thin to keep the feline's voice from reaching him. He seemed much calmer than before, but he still did not smile at the feline in the room. "Boy, nothing you have said is convincing me that we should let you even sleep on the floor of the kitchen. The new stuff is still burning up my body, and my normally vast patience is cut to a fifth of its normal amount. Look, I can give you some money to rent a motel room down the road, but you really can't stay here."
-
Rylyn growled at Rylo. "I out rank you. Do not order me as if I don't know what I'm doing." She put her guns back into the holsters. "Why the hell are you all in my condo in the first place!? Not you Chrono." She smirked. "I'm going through a Valkyr rage right now. Do not tempt me anymore than any of you have..." Her eyes began to look dazed. Rylyn looked around violently. "Chrono..." she managed to mutter before crashing to the floor.
-
Rylo looks at Rylyn. " They said to spend the night here until the chopper arives in the morining, Im guess your going to Russia right? And it does look like Valkry has its downs on you."
-
Rylyn's eyes fluttered. "I reacted funny to the most recent dose." She sat up and sighed, "Russia? Yea. We're all leaving here at different times. It;s safer that way. You are scheduled to leave tomorrow around 15:00 o'clock. I, myself and Chrono will not be leaving till the day after at 04:00 o'clock."
-
Rylo nodded. " They gave me another drug too, but I dont know what it does yet. Ive been feeling kinda funny lately."
-
Fandral turned to the ghost.
"I don't think they believe me," he told the ghost. "Is there anything that you remember... something only Rylyn would know?"
The ghost appeared thoughtful for a minute.
"There is one thing..."
-
/ hmm russia? so thats were they were going to take me. i to am in the program. i was put in the syck ward though./
he looked around and waited for a response.
/ i hated it there. so i left.../
-
Rylyn nodded. "Russia is not my choice of location but we must. The violence over the Valkyr is becoming overwhelming and many are dying and injured because of the crazed fanatics."
-
Alen is sitting at his desk reviewing all of the known, documented, side-efects of both strains of Valkyr. He looks up and at one of the monitor screens on the far wall, and sees Launna sitting upside down in a chair drawing in her sketch pad. He glances around his office, looking at all the furniture. The lamps, the small mobile lab, and the wall filled with medical books. Alen stands and closes the journal he was writing in and walks toward the door.
Launna hears someone moving and then sits right in the chair and starts taping her foot on the floor. Alen walks out of his office, " Well, you haven't gotten hurt again have you, Launna?" Launna grimaces and roles her eyes,
" It all depends on what you mean by getting hurt, But i did just get five stitches. You told me to tell you if anything odd happened, well the injury is healed already."
Alen looks mildly surprised. "Where was your injury?" He notices the uneven fur on her forearm. "Let me guess was it that arm?" He laughs slightly.
"It's that easy to tell? All i can tell is that my furs only a tad shorter than the other area..."
"That's really all that someone needs to notice. Come on its time to run some more tests. I am really curious to see how both the strains are working."
Launna nods and follows after Alen.
-
"Rylyn..."
Fandral stooped down so that his mouth was next to Rylyn's ear.
In a whispering voice, barely audible, he said, "You father wants me to remind you... A strong will, a careful mind, and a loving heart always conquer, no matter how hard the opposition is."
-
Rylyn smiled. "You are a strange child," she whispered back. She gave him a gentle hug. "Thank you."
-
Rylo nodded. " Well i better go back to my room and get some sleep."
-
"Good idea," Rylyn said looking at the clock. "You have about 5 or so hours before you head out."
-
" Goodnight." Rylo walks into his room, and closes the door. He then pulls his pistol out and goes into the sheets on the bed, and sleeps with the gun beside him.
-
Chrono sat on the couch, pinching his brow as he did his best to ignore the burning in his body. When Rylo left the room, the wolf cleared his throat before looking at Rylyn. "So, shall I carry you up to your room, Rylyn?"
-
"I'll sleep outside on the welcome mat," Fandral said. "That way, you'll know if anyone's coming."
-
/i dont mean to be a burden but scence we are all going to russia, were do i sleep at tonight? im cool with a corner./
sigma asked looking up and puting his sword back.
-
Rylyn smiled. "Feel free to stay on the couch. Sure, my legs are really weak right now," she said looking at sigma then Chrono.
-
ALen "All of these tests look good.... It seams the only adverse effects are the personality split, and the need for increased amounts of Carbohydrates. Launna, there are going to be some others coming from LA in the US tomorrow. Please behave... i don't want to have to write anything negative on your reports." Launna nods.
"Yes sir, and when am i ever bad? Wait on second thought don't answer that."
Alen smiles. "Go get your rest. But don't forget to take these." He hands Launna a small pill bottle "Relax, all those are is your mood stabilizer. eat when you take those."
Launna nods and leaves.
-
Chrono couldn't help but smile inwardly as he lifted then cradled Rylyn in his arms, slowly making his way up the stairs and up to Rylyn's room. He waited for her to unlock the door before carrying her in and laying her down on the bed. "Do you need anything more from me, Lady Rylyn?"
-
Fandral curled up on the welcome mat with his sheathed dagger and fell asleep, purring contentedly.
-
Rylyn smiled. "Nothing. But thank you Chrono."
-
/ill help u up the stairs/ sigma said going over to rulebook and extending his hand.
-
As launna walks out Alen sits at his lab desk and begins reviewing all of the charts for everyone who will be coming. He glances at the files and then tosses them into another pile. "This is going to be most interesting."
-
Chrono nodded, closing the door as he left her room and went into his own. He locked his bedroom door, put his gun on the table with a clip of rubber bullets. He only needed to spend a few minutes on the bed before exhaustion finally caught up to him and made him go to sleep.
-
Rylyn slowly got up without a sound. She went over to her closet and opened a small door that had been makeshift. First thing she pulled out was a large duffle bag. Out of the bag Rylyn pulled a custom M16. She then check all of the clips and smiled. She then took both of her desert eagles, undoing the clips and placed them in the bag as well. I'm going to have to pack in bulk. Russia is chaotic, more than anyone may know. She continued to gather her belongings and then put it at the foot of her bed. She climbed into bed just before looking at the clock. 3:30, and with that she was asleep.
-
sigma curled into a corner and went to sleep as well.
-
Fandral stirred in his sleep as the door hit his arm. He stretched once, strapped his dagger back on his belt, and sat down in one of the chairs outside.
The horse man is leaving, he thought, watching the furry walk down the front walk.
-
Rylyn woke up to her alarm. 5 o'clock already? She stretched and pushed the covers off. I hate waking up... Just a long process, she joked to herself.
-
Alen glanced at his clock and then types out an e-mail to both Chrono and Rylyn.
"when you arrive at the airport Myself and Launna will be waiting for you. neither of us are very easily missed unless we want to be. Just look for a Tabby Cat with wings and a Black wolf.
sincerely,
Moscow Researcher,
Alen. "
*alen sends the e-mail and leaves his office to finish up preparing the rooms for everyone.*
-
Fandral went into the house, where he heard someone moving around upstairs.
I'd best not disturb them, he thought. That would be rude.
-
Rylo had walked out and into a waiting Chopper. Rylo climbed in and looked back as the Chopper took off..
-
Chrono slowly comes to, getting off the bed and not noticing all the claw marks and the other damages he caused to it as he went to his bathroom and cleaned up. He then went and got his duffel bag, taking out his handgun and putting it in his pocket before sliding a shirt on. He went down the stairs and reclined on the couch as he waited for Rylyn to finish cleaning and dressing.
-
Fandral sat down in a chair near Chrono.
"So... did you sleep well?" Fandral asked, still a bit wary of the dragon anthro.
-
sigma, waking up brushed his nose with his tail, and sat up.
/ when do we leave?/ he asked.
-
"I believe that it was said that we were leaving tonight at 4:00," Famdral said.
-
Rylyn walked down the stairs, her mohawk not done up yet. "We leave shortly. Just about another hour or so." She went to the kitchen and grabbed a drink then ran back upstairs to finish her hair.
-
"Okay," Fandral said, still curled up in the chair. He pulled out the P-229 Sport pstol that he had modified to shoot a freezing ray and checked to see if it was in good working order, taking it apart and putting it back together.
-
Launna is helping Alen with getting the rooms prepaired.* "So How long do we have to put up with them?"
Alen: "As long as the Boss wats them to stay, now just finish making the other two beds and go get cleaned up."
*launna sighs* "yes sir but... never mind. " She walks out and finishes making up the other two rooms. //mmm i wonder... just how may are comig.. this is going to be intrestiong.// Launna thinks to her self.
-
Rylyn came back down, her hair finished, with duffle bag in hand. "Everyone ready?" she asked looking at the group in her living room.
-
Rylo arrived in Russia ina Jet and was escorted to the base.
-
Chrono's fur bristled at the sound of Fandral's voice, but calmed down after a second or two. "Being that I'm the super minority that suffers no crazed nightmares from the Valkyr, I would say that my sleep was better than most." He watched Rylyn go down the stairs, nodding slowly as his gaze drifted from her head to her body, then back up when she foused her gaze onto him. "Yea, but I thought it was just you and me taking the bird..."
-
"It will be. There will be two helis showing up. Fandral and Sigma will be in one and You and I will be in the other." Rylyn smiled and sat down next to Chrono.
-
He returned the smile, almost forgetting that Fandral and Sigma were in the room. "So, how well can you hold your liquor? I plan on getting some vodka the moment we arrive, drinking it as we put our clothes away."
-
Rylyn laughed. "You drink far too much my friend." She nudged him gently.
-
He hardly budged, but he let out some mirthful laughter as he nudged her hairstyle. "You don't see me complaining about your excessive hair gel, and my body burns through the alcohol faster than what is considered normal. That way it takes drinks like Vodka to require the intake similar to multiple beer bottles, for me to even feel slightly buzzed. However, looking at you tends to bring about the same effect without the hangover."
-
Rylyn stuck her tongue out at him and laughed. "You are strange."
-
Rylo entered his tent and set his bag down. " Staff Sergent.." Rylo paused and turned around and saw a Commander. " Im sorry but you must have the wrong tent",Rylo said. The Commander stepped in. " Rylo is it?" ... " Yes" Rylo replied. The Commander gave Rylo a folder. " It says here you were moved from Lietenant to Staff Sergent."... Rylo took a look at them. " What.. this isnt right, why would they de-rank me, I ju...." The Commander Interupted. " They said due to your new condition, your not ready to hold that rank.. Like other experaments, you could become rogue, especailly with a double drug doase and surgic placements." Rylo was surprized. " Wait surgic placements? All they gave me was shots.." The Commander stopped him again. " Yes you only did get shots, but the second one was more than just a biological liquid... You are changing, expect this Rylo, the monment you try something, you will be terminated." Rylo gave a small glare. " Yes sir." The Commander snapped his fingers as two Marines came in with a large black case. " This will suit you, wel leave you to your little dress up." The Commander walked out with the marines. Rylo sighed and pulled the case over. " I expected better than this in Russia, I mean common right.." He spoke to himself.
-
Rylyn looked at her phone. "The choppers will arrive in about 5 minutes. Now, when we arrive in Russia you are to act appropriate, no questions or arguments. I will be in charge of all confrontation. I've been over there many times before." Rylyn looked at Chrono specifically. "You will behave."
-
Rylo opened up the Black suitcase and found a strange exotic Uniform with armor padding, and a Helmet with a Visor. " What the heck kind of stuff is this for, I never seen anything like it." Rylo began to put it on and it slid and stretched to his size perfectly. " Huh, feels a little more confortable than regular uniform." Rylo picked up the helmet and stared at its green visor. " The thing I dont like about the army is, green isnt my color." Rylo put it on. A voice in its mike apeared. Rylo knew what it was. " It has its own walkytalky in this thing.." It began to call out for Rylo. " Staff Sergent Rylo, report to the command center." Rylo replied, " on it sir." Rylo walked out of his tent and walked to the command center.
-
"Okay, Rylyn," Fandral said, putting away his ice gun.
-
sigma took out his pistol, dropped the mag hitting the bottom against his chest. sattisfied he moved on to his m4. piviting the foregrip on his tactical rail formard, checking the redot and then rubbing the side of the weapon. on the side the ingraved skull shown bright. below, a paragraph quoted from the bible. -and he gave his deciple the power over all sickness and demons- pushing the crane stock in all the way for close quarters he said / why all the weapons, i mean i know russia is a very how you would say...cayotic place but still...we arent going to be killing civis right?/
-
(This is Cifero. My sister wants me sharing her profile so that mine can cool off. You'll know if it's me or her because I'll be posting in this color.)
"Who's Civis?" Fandral said.
-
/civi's are sicillians./
((Sorry for the military talk...))
-
(okay. Thank you for informing me.)
-
((Next time post a question in OCC. Keep the RP for the RP))
-
Chrono quickly nods, a chill going down his spine as he gazes upon Rylyn. "Yes dear, I'll be a good little wolf. I won't start any conflicts with the Russians without severe provocation on their part as well as your permission."
-
Fandral watched in growing facsination.
Wow, he thought. Rylyn is pretty good at making sure that people behave.
-
Rylyn smiled. "Thank you Darling." She flipped on the television. Her head laid back on the couch as she closed her eyes.
-
Fandral's eyes bugged out of his head.
"Wait, you can read minds?" he asked.
-
Chrono glanced at Fandral as if he just said something that made no rational sense. "How did you come to that conclusion... and why are you asking?"
-
"Uh... no reason," Fandral said, realizing that Rylyn's comment had been directed at Chrono and not at what he had been thinking.
-
Rylyn smirked. She yawned and continued to doze off.
-
Chrono continued focusing on the T.V., but he had difficulty of simply not leaning on her shoulder and joining her in sleep. He was able to keep that goal in mind as his distrust of Fandral encouraged him to keep an eye open or ear towards him. "I hope you brought some decent snow wear, as the average temperature of where we're heading ranges from the minus thirty degrees Fahrenheit, and up to fifty-five degrees in the same measurement."
-
"This cloak is warmer than it looks," Fandral said, "and I've got some other clothes in this satchel."
He held up a normal-sized satchel.
"It's more spacious than it appears," he said.
-
with the satisfing click of the mag in his M4 sigma slung it over his shoulder. // hope we come back...and not in bags...//
-
Fandral curls up into a ball and looks back at Sigma.
"Me too, I guess..."
-
Rylyn woke up, her ears twitching. "The chopper will be landing soon. Get everything ready."
-
"Okay," Fandral said, checking through his bag one last time to see if he had everything.
-
sigma stood up and grabbed his bag, heading to the door. //lets movate// he said.
-
"Right behind you," Fandral said, leaping from the chair and following close behind Sigma. He unsheathed his dagger, spun it once in his hand, and slid it back into its sheath.
"We'll see you in Russia," Fandral said, waving goodbye to Rylyn and Chrono as he followed Sigma out.
-
sigma walked onto the street looking at the sun just barly over the horizon. // we have to go back to the base and the choper will be in the court yard.// he said looking back. // we will then be transproted to the air port, put on a small private jet and meet the others in russia.//
-
Chrono waved back, then smiled at Rylyn. "So we got some time alone... want to do anything before I go shopping for tonight's dinner?"
-
"Okay," Fandral said. "You know, I've never been to Russia. I hear that they have very beautiful snowstorms."
-
//wouldnt know. ive spent most of my life on military compounds. i come from a military family.//
-
"Really?" Fandral said. "What was it like?"
-
Ryly opened her eyes. "Hmmm I don't care," she sighed.
-
//terable. had no friends, my father was never home, he was always deployed somewere. my mother was a field medic. she died shortly before my dad did. i was moved a lot after that. and the military desided to take me into their care. when the opertunity for valkyr popped up i took it.// he said, remembering the day the news of his fathers death was delivered to him.
-
"You took that stuff on PURPOSE?!" Fandral said, shocked. "Why the hell would you do that?"
-
//they offered. i felt that i had little choice given the sacrifices of my father..//
-
"Wha...?" Fandral said. "What sacrifices?"
-
Chrono looked at her, a devious smile growing on his lips. He jabbed her in the head with his finger, hard enough to almost push her onto her side. "Tag, you're it..."
-
// he saved his squad by sacrifising himself. he jumped on a grenade that was thrown into the building. amazingly he survived the explosion. turning on his back he pulled out his side arm and then shot the insurgent entering the building.//
-
Fandral stared at him in surprise, stunned for a brief moment.
"Wait," he said. "You said that he survived the explosion... so how did he die?"
-
Rylo walked out of the base and headed back to his tent hut. " Keep this thing on, they dont care if we get hot and sweaty in this armored and helmet suit... wait I dont even feel hot in this, its actually quite cool." Rylo walked into his tent and began to unpack things and put things in place.
( hopefully u guys know i am Black Unicorn.. if u get confused and delete this post i signed up in this rp awhile ago ><)
-
(I can vouch for him.)
Fandral continued to stare at Sigma. "So?"
-
((I'm well aware :) No questioning :) ))
Rylyn fell to her side. "So that's how it is huh?" she looked at him and sat up. She began to jab him all over.
-
Chrono grabbed Rylyn and pulled her in for a hug that would prevent her arms and hands from being able to jab him. "There, now you'll stay "it"."
-
"Cheater!!!" She squirms about and giggles.
-
"Its not cheating, I'm just not letting you poke me with your arms!" Chrono replied, trying to keep Rylyn from worming her arms out of his grip.
-
//blead out..//
-
Fandral looked at Sigma wit hgreat sympathy. "I'm sorry for your loss," he said. "Your father sounded like a brave man."
-
Rylo walked back out his tent and came across four soldiers and a Commander. The commander spoke. " Rylo, please come with me." Rylo started to follow them as they walked. " Why, whats going on." They lead him to a research building. " We need to test your Valkry and Mutation drug..." Rylo stopped. " Wait what.. so thats what it exactly was.. But mutation of what." The commander smirked a small smile. " Thats none of your concern." Rylo stomped and had anger grow quickly. " ITS TOO RIGHT MY CONCERN, ITS INSIDE MY BODY!" A window had shatterd near them. The commander looked at it. " So, Anger triggers it, then alkry is at great use.. such a good combo." Rylo had never been angry so easily, and it was triggering a little worse each time. " Come Rylo, all will be explained soon." The commander lead on. Rylo followed and kept focus on his temper.
-
Rylyn laughed. "If you say so." She nuzzled into his chest and let out a long sigh.
-
Chrono's eyes widened as he let go and fell off the couch, rubbing at his chest and not noticing his own blush. "That was... warm... but uncalled for! No tickling!!"
-
(^ Me-YOW! XD )
"Sigma?" Fandral looked at the wolf. "Sigma, are you okay?"
-
//y.....ya I'm I'm a....fine.....
The base isn't far from here. On top of that we have a job to do. There will be time for sad stories of the past later// sigma said, wiping the tears welling up in his eyes. //at least he died a hero..//
-
Rylyn looked at him. "I wasn't tickling you! I was getting comfy!" she said, her cheeks flushed with rosy red
-
Rylo continued to follow the commander. They had now just entered a room with a table and other things around. " Rylo, I want you to find another way to use that mutation Drug. We now know Valkry triggers it easily. Anger.." Rylo was confused to it. " What?" The commander pointed at a cup. " Move that cup without using your body!" Rylo looked at it. " How am I supposed to do that?" The commander shook his head. " The same way you broke the glass in frustration." Rylo looked at the cup and focused real hard on it. It did nothing. The Commander sighed. He looked to the soldiers and gave a signal nod. They came up to Rylo and tackled him with a strangle. Rylo struggled to get free from the 4 men who were chocking and holding down. The commander bent down. " Stupid Horse! You dont belong with our kind, yet they let you in. Your supposed to be hawling wagons and giving my daughter a pony ride every day.. Your not breed to kill. You breed to work." Rylo felt everything blacking out.. Death was coming. But then something warm and strange was running through him. Valkry kicked in and triggerd brainwaves to mass multiply. " Rahhh!" Everything was vibrating. The cup had squashed itself into a ball. The soldiers began to feel week and all there blood was rushing to there heads. There helmets began to crumble on them.. They let go with screams of pain. And they passed out with blood coming out of there noses, ears and eyes...
-
Chrono just blinked, then smiled again as he got back on the couch and hugged Rylyn again. "Aw... you tolerate me that much?"
-
"Yeah."
Fandral glanced over at the spectre.
A job more important than you know, he thought.
-
Launna and Alen are waiting at the landing site. Launna turns to Alen.
"Where the hell are they? Were they not soposto be here by now?"
-
Rylo stood up and turned to the commander. The commander clapped. " Bravo!" Rylo gave a glare, he wanted to kill the commander, but if he did.. hed lose everything. Rylo cooled down and walked out of the room, and walked straight out of the building and looked towards the landing pads where others stood just waiting. Must be the others from that one place coming. " I hope its just Valkry for them.." He walked over to the landing pads with curiousity. But at the time Rylo put his helmet back on his head relizing he was holding it this whole time. The visor turned on.
-
Alen nods. "Yes thy should be coming. but the will arrive when they get here. You should be able to wait longer.. you are an assassin. just think of this as a preliminary OP" Alen smiles as he hears some one approaching from behind and waits to see if Launna gives some kind of sign she hears them as well.
Launna heard whom ever was coming before the smug smile on Alen's face told her he could her them. The fur on the back of her neck bristled because she desperately wanted to whip around to see who was coming. Against her better judgement she stays still until Alen turns around. As soon as he starts to turn Launna turns as well and is mildly annoyed at seeing someone in full uniform. She keeps her face expressionless an her eyes reflect nothing but coldness towards the newcomer.
Both Alen and Launna waited for the newcomer to introduce him self.
-
Rylo saw them turn around looking at him as he walked to the landing pad. Rylo stopped 7 feet away but then turned left and kept walking. He didint want to cause trouble with his temper still at its point.
-
Launna kept her rather odd comment to herself, but was startled a bit when Alen voiced what she was thinking.
Alen " My.. what an odd fellow." He smiles a bit when launna jumps a bit. "Ah you have the same opinion I take it? Dont worry, he just needs to cool down. I assume he already met with the other scientist. Launna, you do not have to stay here if this is wearing on your patience."
Launna crosses her arms. "It is not, i can assure you. Though as you said they should be here shortly yes?"
Alen nods. "I did indeed say that."
They both lapse into silence and turn back around to wait for the choppers that are soposto be arriving shortly.
-
//theres the base, lets see if i cant get detainied agian// sigma said.
-
"Don't worry," Fandral said. He turned on his freeze ray and hid it in his sleeve. "I won't let them."
-
//if they do then they will probably put me in the phsyc ward. They said that after the first dose I started to holucinate...//
-
Launna looks up and within a few min a chopper becomes visible and Alen takes a mental note that Launna's hearing must have also been increased..* Doubtless to say looks like.. wow only two in this chopper. *Alen chuckles*
Ah well we will have to see if there indeed is only two. Unless you want to place a small wager on it. *He smiles hoping Launna will take the bait. Instead she shrugs*
I know there are only two but we might as well wait for them to land.
-
Fandral looked over at Sigma. "What do you mean exactly by 'hallucinate'?" he asked.
-
// i can see, a um...negative of myself. thats how i escaped off of the base. my 'negative' opened the door, and killed the guards.//
-
The feline's eyes bugged out.
"Geez," Fandral said. "That's a pretty powerful hallucination."
He glanced out the window. "I can see dead people." :3 X3 XD
-
//mm i wonder...//
-
(land da helicopter.. or say it does.. XD i am gettin bored of talkin to my self.. XD)
-
// thank god a landing, i am soooo tired of this helio.// sigma said looking at the ground covered in snow.
-
Launa looks over at Alen. "there are only two of them."
Alen looks surprised when the helicopter lands and, two do step out.
a: "you really do surprise me every once in a while...."
-
Rylo kept walking but turned his head looking at the landing Helicopter and the familiar faces popping out of it.
-
Fandral stood slightly behind Sigma, since he had gotten out of the plane second, and observed the two figures.
"Well, this is it," the feline said. "I suppose that there's no turning back now even if we wanted to."
-
//not at all. wonder win the rest will rondevou.//
-
"That's a good question."
-
Alen rased his right hand. "Well you two must be Fandral and Sigma. I Am Alen and will be directing you to where you are staying."
-
"Greetings, Alen," Fandral said. He noticed another furry standing nearby. "And who is your friend over there?"
-
//thank you, for your hospitality// sigma said looking around the room.
-
"Seriously, who the heck is that?" Fandral continued to stare at the wolf girl in curiousity.
-
//i asume that that is launna, ive heard some of the doctors talk about her, though i never though i would see her in person// sigma said, an arm on his mistol at all times.
-
"What did you here about her?" the feline whispered.
-
//shes hyperleathel. a perfect example of what the valkyr can do..or so the doctors said to be honost i know nothing about her// turning around to see a locked door.
-
"Wait," Fandral said. "Why the heck is there a locked door standing in an open space?"
-
(well for the sake of convince we were heading to the barracks i ddnt get a chance to post before tallice)
*launna smiles at Sigmas comment but other than that is silent.* Alen: "This way gentlemen, * he leads them through the building and to the barracks. There is a decent sized hallway with doors on both sides that line the halls. Alen points to the first two doors.* "Sigma you are in this room and Fandral you are in this room. *He says pointing to the door directly across from sigma's* " There are small bathrooms, a toilet and a sink if you want to use the shower, they are at the end of the hall and are marked. They are Separate because of certain reasons. Launna go see If The lad in green has cooled down enough then show him to his room, and Be nice about it..."
*Launna roles her eyes* "what ever Al" *Launna walks out and Alen Turns back to Sigma and Fandral*
"Sorry about that, She is not one for talking unless she is in one of her rare personality shifts. If there are any questions I will be happy to help, and you can find me in the researcher labs or in my main office by the entrance to the Main lab. If i am not there ask Launna, but be careful about it." *Alen smiles * "So are there any questions before I go check on the other choppers arrival?"
-
// yes just a few..uh you have the files that im asuming were transfured here on me correct, and do the door lock from the inside, outside or both?//
-
"Yes i do have the files, still working on reading all of them, and they lock from the inside but u do need these to get in. " *Alen hands them Access cards." These work for almost any door except the Labs and the Research area's"
-
//mmm, and is there a phsyc ward, i understand that the question may be, some what, out of the ordinary but its for peace of mind//
-
*He smiles* "My lab so to speak."
-
//ok, i do hope you have a different conigancy plan though, as the american handlers were, how to say, somewhat scared of how i reacted to the valkyr//
-
(i have got to go but i will be back later)
-
"Um, actually, I'm gonna need to talk to you in private after Rylyn gets here," Fandral said. "Also..."
He hesitated. "...Well... your, um... you forgot to close the barn door." XD
-
*looks at him funny* //barn...door?//
-
Fandral leaned over to Sigma. "His fly's down," he whispered.
-
//mm...helpful....// :|
-
(Alen's fly is down.)
-
moving to his room to get affiliated with his new envirornment sigma felt nurvous. nurvous about the room altogether, the way things were positioned he couldnt see the anyone who would open the door. so grabbing the bed he moved it out of the way completely. //not like im ever going to use it anyway.// then stripping it of the blankets and sheets he piled them into a corner facing the door. next he moved to the bathroom, taking the miror off of the wall and puting it behind the toliet. //dont want to take any risks// then opening the closet he put his duffle inside withdrawing his M4 and positioning it to lean agianst the wall next to the pile of blankets were he would be sleeping. //home sweet home// he siad looking around in satisfaction.
-
Fandral watched Sigma prepare his room.
"Well," the feline said, "I suppose you don't really like matresses?"
-
(I apriticate the attempt in humor bt please do not do that again...) *Alen leaves ignoring the comment about his zipper knowing full well that it is, infact, zipped.*
-
//i dont use beds//
-
"Okay then," Fandral said. It was just then that he noticed that Alen's fly wasn't down at all.
" Oh gosh, I'm sorry," he said. "Please forgive my comment. But seriously, I am gonna need to speak with you when Rylyn gets here."
-
Ok my keyboard is being odd so I will be using these "-" to indicate actions instead of my regular stars) -Alen nods- Yes I know that I need to talk to Rylyn and Chrono when they arive in their chopper I have got to go check on that choppers flight status as well.
-
(Yeah... still not using mine yet...)
"Right behind you," Fandral said, beginning to walk out of the room.
-
sigma followed stoping in his room to grab his m4
//sorry for the hostile notion, but to be honost i know nothing of you or the people inside of your facility//
-
Alen: not to worry I would be doing the same in your position.
-Launna walked around until she saw the guy in green again.- Hey. I was told to show u your room. If you would follow me I could lead you there. My name you do not really need to know.
-
//and its fine if i, leave the mag in, or keep it loaded//
-
Alen: you better not make me regret letting you do this. *he keeps walking-
-
//dont worry, i dont bite// sigma said showing his back teeth.
-
Alen whips around and unfurels his wings suddenly- BOO! -he laughs and turns around and keeps walking smiling to himself-
-
//ha! i enjoy jokes...// sigma decided that he would have to get even for scaring him, even though he wouldnt show he was startled by it.
-
-alen stops near the landing pad- Launna is not back, (guys let's wait for Black =-horse to post...)
-
"What an shitehead," Fandral muttered, watching Alen walk away.
-
Rylo wandered with nothing to do, but the thing back at the labs when they gave him the drugs was haunting his mind. He wandered what it was, though it didnt look right... but mabye it was nothing, his eyesight probably wasnt accurate. Then Airplanes popped in. He knew them, flew them, and fought with them. Only for a year atleast.
-
*launna looks at Rylo* excuse me, I am soposto shw you your Room. If you are ready.* Launna is intregued by Rylo. So she stands there just observing him waithin for his anwser.*
-
" Huh? room, I just moved into a tent.. I think I am covered. "
-
If you want to stay in the tent, that's your call. Anyway, there is still an open room in the building if you get tired of the cold nights outside. *Launna walks off back towards Alen, Fandral, and Sigma.*
